Favorite hair color in each member?
oh okay Here We Go™
since day 1 my favorite chanyeol hair has been the dark ash gray from cmb era (i got into exo during cmb)!! not the silver or the lighter gray but the darker shade specifically here’s a kind of blurry selfie he took with the dark gray im talking about
Tumblr media
don’t fight with me on this but minseok’s best hair was that bold blue he did that (thank the lord) made it into the fiji photobook im broke but i’d buy a photobook just for his pics w/ this hair
Tumblr media
for ksoo i think he actually looks really good with his shorter black hair that’s kinda blocky it’s a handsome classic™ kind of look but i wont lie to myself and say its my favorite when his red hair with the shaved sides look existed once upon a time…
Tumblr media
BINCH !! CMB ERA BLONDE YIXING !! (except only the mv cmb era blonde lay i think whatever filter they used in the mv made it look more toned down but irl it looked a bit too yellow still for my tastes tbh…)
Tumblr media
for jongin I like the medium to darker brown… not to be a cliche kai l but it reminds me of a bear lol also i just think it really does look good on him!!! subtle but good (honorary mention goes to his lmr pink hair bless)
Tumblr media
it was a toss up between normal black haired junmyeon (i think he looks vaguely princely esp w/ black styled hair) and monster era gray-haired junmyeon but im gonna go with the latter it might have made him look like he aged 100 more years at times but!! it also was in a weird way a really fun color and he looked p dam good tbh! im talking about 20160612 and 20160610′s lucky_one.mp3 performances)
Tumblr media
as much as i unironically like sehun’s pastel rainbow hair (not the parrot rainbow hair color specifically the pastel-ish one that ive only seen 1 photo and 1 gif of total) i think i’m gonna go with the dark brown from sing for you era but the black is either equal to or one teeny step down from it
Tumblr media
UHHH OKAY LISSEN… I KNO WE ALL LOSE OUR SH*T FOR BLACK HAIRED BBH BUT…. BETWEEN U AND ME AND EVERYONE ELSE WHO READS THIS I GOT A MAJOR WEAKNESS FOR SING FOR YOU ERA BLONDE BBH WITH THOSE DARK BROWN ROOTS???? BUT IM MOSTLY THINKING OF BBH AT THE 2015 MAMA AWARDS BBH…. UMMM I FELL FOR HIM FOR LIKE THE 100TH TIME THEN IT WAS INCREDIBLE…. THE BUNNY SWEATER THE EYE MAKEUP THE BLONDE HAIR.. I LOVED HIS DARK BROWN/BLACK ROOTS OMG…… IM THINKING OF A SPECIFIC MOMENT RN WHEN HE WAS IN THAT BLUE LEATHER JACKET AND HE JUST SANG THAT NOTE AND HE WINKS AND PUTS HIS ARMS IN THE AIR AND SPINS AND BITES HIS GOT DAM LIP OR SOMETHING EOIOWJGE… I HOPE I D*E (for some reason tho i have yet to find very good pics of that moment they’re either white washed to h*ll or just… not the best photos i’ll just stick to rewatching the performance every once in a while and crying oifejowijeofijwf) ((honorary mentions go to bbh’s cotton candy pink hair and lavender hair we saw one time only ever rip))

Week 14 - Your Choice
My favorite theme to learn about thus far, has been industrial design. I enjoy aspects of marketing so I like the idea that industrial design is created to work well while also being pleasing to the eye.
I liked learning more about the multiple designers that contributed to industrial design, such as Peter Behrens, Walter Gropius and Mies Van Der Rohe. Gropius and Van Der Rohe sparked the Bauhaus movement. I also liked learning about how World War II changed the world of industrial design and consumerism.
Many of the Bauhaus designs originated in Germany, with designers such as Wilhelm Wagenfeld and Fritz August Brehaus de Groot. However, the United States was also considered to be one of the parents of Bauhaus design. During World War II, war time industrial factories were used to produce for consumers. This allowed the United States to produce consumer items more quickly, which lead to an increase in demand. Thus creating this idea of “planned obsolescence”.
Industrial designers, in the US, came up with this term to explain the process of consumer goods that have a limited useful life after some time. After this, these goods are replaced with newer models so people are inclined to keep upgrading. I thought that planned obsolescence was so interesting because the more I looked into it, the more you notice it in everyday life.
Consider the iPhone, in a way this is planned obsolesce. The consumer buys a brand new iPhone and uses it up to a certain point. The Apple company then makes it impossible for the iPhone to continually update until the end of its life, so consumers end up buying a new phone before the current one has dies because it becomes more or less useless without the new updates. Apple has also been accused of slowing down the batteries of their phones, before their age of expiration, so consumers are pigeonholed into buying a newer model.
Some of the research I looked at questioned whether planned obsolescence was even legal. Apple is not the only company that uses planned obsolescence to their advantage. A more “old school” example would be the light bulb. At first, companies tried to create light bulbs that would last as long as possible, because they knew that their company wouldn’t be able to keep up with the expense of replacing bulbs frequently. However, once the light bulbs became mass marketed, companies realized that they could make more money by making bulbs disposable. This was a better business model because it put the cost of buying replacement bulbs on the consumer, instead of their company. This all was fascinating to me because I enjoy marketing and learning more about industrial design, but this was a dry side of design that I had not inquired about before reading the chapter on industrial design.
