Can you link me to where you talked about VER vs HAM’s codes??? Idek what that means but I’m intrigued.
It was in the 2015 Abu Dhabi GP review. For context it was the last race in Max's first season and he gave an interview.
Tl;dr : essentially Max was aware but not worried about the mistakes he was making. About the conflicts he ran into with other way more experienced and established drivers, he said he was defending his seat and that was normal. My theory is that Max knew the cultural codes of F1. Hence he felt entitled to the seat, the on track moves, his entire behavior, no matter how criticised he was for it. He was confident and unapologetic about it because he knew how he could be confident and unapologetic in that world and for it to be okay. He knew how it worked because he'd been immersed in that universe from his birth and what he didn't know his father could explain to him. Also something something about nobody holding him accountable.
In comparison, Lewis was fucking stressed the first few years because he's not from this world and neither he nor his family knew how to navigate it. That's also why Anthony would say "do your talking on the track" because that's the only place they could do their talking at all, unlike the likes of the Verstappens. Which is also basically what he's saying in that video from earlier.
Here's the full developed explanation from the review under a cut because it gets a bit long :
He talks about mistakes he’s made and he’s not miffed about them, he says it’s part of the learning process. He talks about his altercation with Massa after his big crash in Monaco when Massa said he should be penalised and Verstappen was like “mind your own business” basically and he says no hard feelings but you have to stand up for yourself especially at the beginning of your career. Also in Singapore when he refused to let his teammate back in front. He says he didn’t want to move because he was enjoying the race and fighting for a position and he’s pretty sure it wouldn’t have made a difference in the end. When asked if he then thought he was in trouble, he says it just drives him to do a better job. He says he thinks in the end a lot of people agreed with him and it’s a validation that he did the right thing. When asked where he can improve now, speed, consistency, technical feedback, he says everywhere.
Okay so. Why did I mention it? Well it’s all purely my opinion so as always you’re welcome to disagree but I see a very stark contrast in attitude with Lewis at his debut. Simply because Max doesn’t seem to feel like he has anything to prove. He seems to feel like he’s entitled to being here. Which is good on him, btw, I’m not questioning whether it’s based or not. But he’s there, he’s confident, he knows there's learning curve but that’s normal to him, he’s defending his spot and he’s very transparent about that, he’s not worried about his position in this sport. It gives him confidence and self assurance and even cheekiness. That’s the privilege of his position as, first of all of course, a white man, and also as a nepo baby. And, well, there's nothing he can do about being white and a nepo baby so to be clear I’m not holding it against him, he’s using the cards he’s been dealt. It is what it is. But in comparison when you think back to rookie Lewis… That boy was stressed out. He had to make it count. He had to prove himself so bad. There was so much pressure. And that’s the cards HE was dealt.
In sociology, I once heard about study results highlighting that children from higher socioeconomic classes did better in school not necessarily because they had better abilities but because they understood the specific language used in school. They understood the logic of it, the way it worked, the rules, because the same language and same logic and same structure was used in their homes unlike the homes of families from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. I feel like it’s the same thing. Max had a good understanding of the F1 codes from the start. He knew the politics of it and how the game was played. And where he might have not known, his dad did, and could tell him. Lewis struggled terribly in the first few years, especially with the PR and politics part, remember? He hated it to the point it made him consider quitting. Because he didn’t have the codes, he wasn’t born in it. And his dad couldn’t help with that, which is why he used to tell him to do his talking on the track. Because they simply didn’t have the status, nor the connections, nor the knowledge, to do it in the offices and dinner parties like the Verstappens.
Also it’s interesting to note that part about Max saying in the end people agreed with him so it validated that he was right. Because that’s a thing I’ve mentioned several times before, not in this rewatch but on my blog, that nobody ever holds him accountable for his mistakes or when he showcases dangerous driving and I find it to be a problem because that means he doesn’t question himself about it and has zero reason to change. First of all, sometimes it’s been actually genuinely dangerous for other people and second of all I worry (yes) that it might hinder his development. Because listen, whether you like Max or not, as far as driving goes, he has the stuff. It’s undeniable. I agree with the journalists this season saying straight away he would definitely win a championship at some point. The way it happened fucking sucked but if that hadn’t happened he’d still have won titles sooner or later. There’s no doubt. But I wonder if he’s living to his full potential not being questioned that way. Although maybe him not being completely complacent with himself is enough, idk. I guess I’ll see where I fall on that by watching his career develop.

Driver Profiles: Carlos Sainz
Updated December 2024

Name: Carlos Sainz Vázquez de Castro
Age: 30
Nationality: Spanish
Years in F1: 9 ( Toro Rosso 2015- Oct 2017, Renault Oct 2017-2018, Mclaren 2019-2020, Ferrari 2021-2024, Williams 2025)
Number: 55
WDCs: N/A
Driving Style: Sainz is most well known for his strategy more than anything. Regularly during races it is his suggestions on strat that are chosen, and most often they yield positive results. Beyond strategy, he has a calm and effective tire management and calculate decision making skills. All of this together leads to very intelligent driver, and allows him to be one of the smoothest drivers on the track. While he can be aggressive when needed, it is tempered by his patience (similar to teammate Charles Leclerc). The negatives about Sainz is that he tends to overthink in races. This is mostly due to his strategic and cautious way of racing, but it does not let him make split-second decisions very easily. He tends to not rely on his instinct very much.
History:
Sainz is the son of Rally World Champion Carlos Sainz Sr., and with his fathers racing fame came pressure at a young age. Sainz started his career in karting in 2006, after participating in smaller series in Spain. In 2008, he won the Asia-Pacific KF3 title, as well as finishing runner-up in the Spanish Championship In 2009, he also won the Junior Monaco Kart Cup, and was runner-up in the European KF3 Championship. In 2010 at age 16 Sainz raced in Formula BMW, and was added to the Red Bull Junior Program. He finished his season in Formula BMW in 4th place.

(Young Sainz sitting in Fernando Alonso's Renault)
During 2012, Sainz raced in both the Euro Series and British F3 Championships. He did well in both series, gaining multiple pole positions and podiums, but did not get particularly close to winning the championships.

In 2013 Sainz signed with a GP3 team to compete in that years championship. He was a midfielder during this time, and his highest finish was P7. He then competed in Formula Renault 3.5 the same year, and had a difficult year there as well.
In 2015 Sainz was brought up to Formula 1 to drive for Toro Rosso, Red Bull's junior team, opposite Max Verstappen. His time with Toro Rosso was difficult for Sainz, regularly experiencing mechanical problems and crashes. His first season with them he would find himself 15th in the championship. 2016 would see Sainz get his best career finish of P6, but still is counted as a rather negative year for the Spainard. 2017 was Sainz's best year with Toro Rosso, finishing at the Singapore GP in 4th place. Shortly before this race it was announced Sainz would be on loan to Renualt for the last 4 races and the 2018 season. Sainz stated it was unlikely he would return to Toro Ross. He never did.

(Sainz with teammate Verstappen)
The 2018 season with Renault saw Sainz have significantly more positive results. He qualified in the top ten for the beginning races, and finished in the points for all but one. For the next races, he would consistently score points. however, this was not enough for Renault and he was replace by Daniel Riccardo for the 2019 season. Happily for Sainz, he was able to sign a contract with Mclaren to replace his one with Renault.

(Sainz when he was with Renault)
The 2019 season and his first year with Mclaren saw Sainz achieve even better results. While his first three races were unfortunate, after he consistently scored high points right behind the top 3 teams and finished above his teammate, Lando Norris. He would go on to get his maiden podium at the Brazilian GP after Lewis Hamilton received a post race time penalty. Unfortunately the rest of the season was rather negative for Sainz, encountering engine problems, pit problems, and other things that made him DNF multiple races. 2020 was a more positive year, which saw him achieve more podiums and finish 6th in the championship.

(Sainz in his Mclaren)
In 2021 Sainz joined Ferrari opposite Charles Leclerc, by the far the most successful team he has been a part of. While he had some issues during the year, he also had a majority of his highest results, finishing the season in fifth and ahead of his teammate. 2022 saw his maiden win at the British GP. Won in a difficult rain race, he showed that he had the chops to keep up with his Championship battling teammate, and had a variety of positive results that year. He ended in fifth in the championship that year, this time behind his teammate. 2023 was a rough year for every team but Red Bull, however Sainz was the only non-Redbull winner that year at the Singapore GP, which was a mark of honor that year.

(Sainz after securing maiden win)
2024 Sainz had a relatively positive year, with a few standout performances and a few terrible results. Notably he crashed out of both Baku and Brazil. However, he won in Australia and Mexico, so kind of a mixed bag. He finished 5th in the standings.
He is set to join Williams for the 2025 season.

(Sainz getting champagne poured on his head by teammate Charles Leclerc at the 2024 Australian GP)
Major Races:
2019 Brazilian GP - Sainz first podium finish, he achieved it after Lewis Hamilton received a time penalty post race. Regardless, he has a strong race and was able to compete with top teams ina. midfield car.
2020 Italian GP - Driving withe Mclaren, he achieved a P2 finish, his highest at the time. Again, we see Sainz has a talent for pulling the maximum out of his car.
2021 Monaco GP - His first podium with Ferrari, the Monaco GP is a prestigious and difficult race. On top of that, it is an early race, and displayed how fast Sainz adapted to the Ferrari car.
2022 British GP - His first win, this race was a wet one which saw multiple DNF's from other drivers. His skill in wet weather allowed him to battle with top drivers like Hamilton and take the win.
2023 Singapore GP - As the only non-Red Bull winner that year, this race result will always show how strong his race craft is. Whiel he held the lead for most of the race, a late safety car threatened his position. In a spur of genius he used Mclaren driver Lando Norris as a buffer to the attacking cars behind, keeping Norris within DRS range but not allowing him by. By far the most impressive use of DRS I have seen from a front car.
2024 Australian GP - Shortly after his appendix surgery, Sainz won through pure race skill, and got Ferrari there first 1-2 of the season, giving them a major lead in the championships.
Cheers!

you want history? i’ll give you history!!! (yes it’s simi 101 again and yes, it’s still relevant, clearly)
preface → 2003: seb in the ferrari garage and (possible) first meeting? (there is an italian article from 2013 where kimi says they have been friends for ten years. is it an hyperbole? probably but it's very interesting)
2006: they were friendly from 2006 (info found in a finnish article from 2019). this confirms the earlier theory for sure honestly (aka they met). maybe they didn't see each other that much but they certainty knew each other (courtesy of michael maybe? but this is just speculation don't mind me)
2007: you all know what i'm going to say and i will say exactly that. kimi was the ONLY driver to look at seb in the eyes and to respect him from day one. also he took the drinks for him when the other drivers wanted to see seb drunk and embarrass him (kimi as a knight in a shining armor my absolute beloved <333 what a gentleman)
2008: i know it's stupid but seb was asked to choose between felipe lewis and robert kubica for who he would support in the championship fight and he said kimi. the crush was definitely showing
2009: seb going to the finland rally aka kimi's first rally and specifically waiting for him in the tent. kimi's smile as he sees him while he descends the stairs is priceless <3 (also seb followed kimi's whole race from the helicopter. he said it was a cool experience. yes i saw the video of him explaining how it was to be on a heli on tik tok iykyk)
2010: gay longing T™ (seb saying his only friend on the grid was kimi but he went away. poor baby give him back his man. also saying that kimi inspired him to win his championship)
2011: even more gay longing T™ (the autosport awards where seb was about to say he loved kimi and did his impression. just normal dudes things)
and yes, they saw each other while kimi was away from f1!!! as i posted in another reblog, seb said he tried to spend as much time as possible with kimi!!! so yes, they also made an effort to be together, isn’t that beautiful?
2012: the whole season BUT PARTICULARLY. seb saying he had missed kimi and he is happy he is back. china 2012 (seb taking the secret elevator to kimi's room). whater the fuck that abu dhabi podium was (save nando pls)(they literally went crotch to crotch in that one idk what to tell you). also after the bahrain race where seb looked like he was going to devour kimi whole. you know just normal stuff
2013: singapore gp 2013. also kimi partying hard at seb's championship party after having a fight with lotus (and most probably fucking that twink). also also kimi being the only person to alway and i mean always defend seb from the media and telling them seb is an amazing guy, always humble etc etc (everyone and i mean EVERYONE hated seb. all of the media too). ah and also "i prefer kimi" we get it babygirl you want kimi as a teammate. we get it. WE GET IT STOP SAYING IT IN EVERY SINGLE PRESS CONFERENCE.
2014: kimi saying seb is doing amazingly with the car he has even if he is struggling meanwhile everyone else was piling up insults at him. yeah. also their press conferences and driver pared were particularly gay this year (cue that one photo where the ferrari mechanics stare longingly at them while they are walking super close to each other. what a time to be alive)
2015: well...the whole reason seb signed for ferrari in particular (apart from the fact it's ferrari) was most probably because of kimi and their amazing relationship. also singapore 2015 anyone? (they were so gay in that one, press conference where they looked about to kiss al the time and everything else. do i have to remind you all about the pit board thing?). also this is the year of seb's denial (it did not work we all know he is gay for that man)
2016: the quiz ferrari did in monaco and seb knowing kimi's lap record. ok FANBOY. also idk if it's from this year but seb saying that if he wasn't in f1 he would be a kimi fan? i'm connecting the dots (he is insane about that old man). also china 2016 and seb apologizing to kimi. ALSO THEM HAVING A DATE LOOKING AT THE SUNSET AFTER THE RUSSIAN GP WITH WINE (and no i am not joking this actually happened)
idk how i forgot to mention here that kimi literally decided to stay in f1 (bc he wanted to retire after 2015) most definitely because him and seb worked so well together so he decided to stay with him <333 true love wins!!!
2017: hungary 2017. need i say more? no but i will because honestly this being after monaco 2017 aka the race where kimi was PISSED (and rightfully so) for not having won AND he defended seb from the mercs willingly (seb had a problem to the streering wheel) and THEN seb not only said "thank you for helping me" in the cooldown room but also he does THE most iconic thing in the herstory of the sport and just. takes kimi's hand on the podium. in front of literally everyone. in a homophobic country. and kimi just let him. iconic, no one will ever be like this
ah, communication <3
2018: seb is still on about how he prefers kimi as his teammate. also him being tricked into signing for ferrari for another two years because they told him kimi was going to be with him only for elkann to ruin everything (as he does)(also yes mauri wanted to sign kimi again. he gets it)
ALMOST FORGOT THE GALA FROM THIS YEAR ANDNSN. not but fr kimi being just so supportive of seb here and never leaving his sode for the whole evening does something to me and it should do something for you too bc that’s true love
2019: "i'm not in love with kimi so i can't say i miss him. but i do miss him" i don't think sebastian vettel realizes the more you say something isn't true the more it sounds like it is true (bc it is)
2020: possibly the year seb decided his relationship with kimi was going to be kept more private? also them deciding and going back from the australian gp together before anyone had even said it was cancelled. my iconic kings
2021: a lot of many different little moments (and seb still holding the umbrella for him, just like he did in 2008 and through their whole time together) + the retirement party speech. yes i do cry about it seb knows him so well and kimi looking at the screen??? i cry about it EVEN MORE
2022: monza gp. i know i might sound crazy but they definitely met and we just didn't see it bc seb's kids were there it has been said seb took his kids to more races towards the end of the season/in this season in particular). also the behind the grid episode!!! (kimi being the biggest natural talent. that he doesn't want to say they have a bond (they have))
2023: kimi being the only retired driver seb followed on instagram (mick is not included bc he didn't exactly retire) and it stands true to this day :). ah and btw kimi, follow him back pls i know you love him showing tits for you but come on king
2024: "wdym this year??? we didn't get anything this year-" WRONG YOU'RE JUST NOT DELUSIONAL ENOUGH. i'm considering them being in the nordic regions at the same time a simi moment. they are old men in love yadda yadda yadda
and once again, this is just the 10% of all their history, look at all the propaganda we did under this post for more too!!! so yes, of course VOTE SIMI!!! HAVE SOME RESPECT FOR THE SECOND COMING OF SUNSHINE GERMAN AND GRUMPY FINN!!!
THE FINAL

#we truly used to be a proper country here but alas#i love lore so you already know i had to do this again and add more stuff#so yes vote simi!!! your vote counts!!! we shouldn’t let ourself be insulted!!!#let’s go guys!!!#also ik i said last one but spite is fueling me rn so akdjsk

Target Drone Market - Forecast(2024 - 2030)
Target Drone Market Size is forecast to reach $7928.5 Million by 2030, at a CAGR of 7.40% during forecast period 2024-2030.For various defense operations such as border patrolling remotely controlled unmanned vehicles are used which are known as aerial drones are used. Target drones are a subclass of aerial targets that are specifically created for Research, Development, testing & Evaluation (RDT&E) purposes. This encompasses many applications such as target and decoy, training, reconnaissance. The primary factors that have been driving the growth of this market include increase in spending of aerial target developments, initiatives for unmanned combat aerial vehicle programs and emphasis on testing & evaluation and training.
Americas is the dominating market which held a major revenue share in 2015 mainly driven by investments in Special Forces, UAVs and fighter aircraft able to carry ground attacks. APAC attributed the fastest growth rate resulting from developing nations such as China and India developing indigenous air based defense equipment to reduce their import spending on defense. This growth was followed by Europe and RoW. The global target drone market was estimated to be $ 4.05 billion in 2017 and is expected to grow with CAGR of 8.51% during the forecast period.

What are Target Drones?
Target Drones are unmanned aerial vehicles that are controlled from a remote location. Target drone is intended as a system with ground to air defense role and for training purposes. These are employed by the professionals for testing combat and for training of anti-aircraft crews. The technology has aided to the manufacturing of target drones getting more efficient and the designs are also marvelous with computer assistance.
What are the major applications for Target Drones?
Target drones are primarily being used by the armed forces to support the operational activities of new weapon systems. They are high performance unmanned aerial vehicles hence are being applied for advanced applications such as aerial filming and data sensing. Aerial mapping drones are high-end drones and are enabled with features such as GPS and RTLS embedded on the system similarly loaded aerial survey drones are also available for the military as well as commercial applications. The military generally use these target devices for training purposes and also for calibration of equipment.

Market Research and Market Trends of Target Drones Ecosystem
Fuel cells are becoming more practical and will be employed soon as the primary source of power. Fuel cells are still expensive and are slower to respond to load changes. HES Energy Systems is a Singapore-based company which recently announced manufacturing of hydrogen fuel cells for drones that are the smallest and lightest for the power delivered or energy stored in the world.
Aerialtronics is employing drones for industrial inspection in various fields. They have a UAV that can autonomously fly around wind turbines and cell towers, detect faults and generate reports more quickly. Artificial Intelligence enabled smart drones will be able to navigate and solve tasks more autonomously. These type of drones are increasingly gaining popularity and are expected to intervene in the target drone market soon.
A contract to work with the Defense Department on a pilot, dubbed “Project Maven has been secured by tech giant Google. The contract is aimed at assisting the U.S. military to use the artificial intelligence systems. The project will be responsible for target drone strikes, and analyzing the massive trove of video recorded by surveillance cameras.
In many ways modern consumer drones are becoming more advanced than far more expensive military systems. The best consumer models are now being redeployed for commercial use, often with little or no modification. And just as with smartphones, people who enjoyed playing with consumer drones realized it made sense to take them to work too. Even military users are beginning to pay attention to developments in the consumer market and regulatory bodies such as FAA have been set up to prevent misuse of different types of drones.
Sensofusion from Finland was recently included in a group of companies selected by the U.S. FAA for a cooperative program aimed at the development of drone protection, location and prevention for airports. The objective of FAA is to find a system that can be deployed on air bases to spot, block and drop the unwanted unmanned aircraft systems before they get anywhere near the boundary fence, never mind into controlled airport airspace. The other companies added to the FAA Pathfinder Program at the same time include Gryphon Sensors and Liteye Systems.
