!!! in place of the annuals there is an additional middle chapter that was created for the book "free country: a tale of the children's crusade" where it is placed between the two children's crusade issues. the boys don't actually appear in most of the annuals (they are in two panels of swamp thing and appear in doom patrol) and reading them isn't necessary but i figured i would include them as they are part of the story.

"Hey mom, I'm back! Did you start making dinner yet?" No one responded. Weird. I went to the kitchen only to find it empty. "Are you guys home? Yang? Mom?" I asked, again met with silence. "I brought back the groceries you wanted!" I yelled. Are they home? I took my phone out of pocket- I should probably call them. Before I could press call, I felt a tap on my shoulder. "AGH! Mom you scared me! Why didn't you reply?" I asked her. No reply. "Mom?" The house started to smell really weird. The air became foggy. I couldn't see her anymore. "Mom!" I cough from the smoke. "Mom, we need to get out! Mom-" She was burning. She was burning. I can't do anything- I can't move. It's like something was holding me back. "MOM!" I screamed. Why couldn't I move?! I stare as she mumbled something. I couldn't hear her. "Mom?" "It burns," she says, before the flaming roof collapses on her.

Rei's POV

i was greeted with a burst of flames and a blow of smog into my face, while the screams of agony echoed around me. the abrupt shift from the quiet, dark bedroom i was just into this tragic scene. little stray sparks from the inferno land on my white button-up shirt, leaving small burn holes. i walked toward the burning building, fully engulfed in flames, delicately stepping over debris and the remnants of this dingy home. as i cautiously approach the collapsed kitchen, i see the burnt remains of what i can only assume is a mother. 

the heat has reduced her once loving caring arms into a dark crispy layer… her wrinkly charred skin was barely clinging onto her flesh, her flesh barely clinging onto her bare brittle fragmented bones. her bones were exposed, calcified, and fractured. her corpse was crushed by the wooden debris of the ceiling. her corpse was basically fused with it. her corpse fused with the remnants of her clothing, obscuring her body. she became one with the place that will haunt her baby. the once tender and nurturing warmth of her could never be recovered. the feeling of a motherly bond between her and her baby could never be brought upon her son again, leaving him to hold onto the fragments of suppressed memories about his mother. “MOM!” i heard in the distance behind me. who is that? i turned around to pathetic crying mess of a boy.

… i don’t think i should be interfering. this was unfortunate timing for me to invade his little nightmare. i sighed, opening up the extraterrestrial portal back to the mortal realm, and away from dreamland. i go through the portal, which is covered by smoke. i step through the portal, enveloped by smoke. the screams echo around me, gradually fading as i pass through.

Li's POV

“It burns,” a sickeningly familiar voice says in my ear. She sounds so different, though. “MOM!” I scream, waking up from the nightmare. I clutch my shirt, slowly regaining my breath. I open my eyes to find my dog in front of me. “...Good morning, Benji,” I say, scratching underneath his chin. My smile fades when I hear my alarm go off—a reminder that I have to go to school today. It’s been—what, a year since I last went? A year since the fire. I shudder, pushing the thought away. I hurry to get ready, not wanting to be late. I glance at the time: 7:30 AM. I should be heading out soon. Finally, I pour Benji his breakfast and a fresh bowl of water. “See you later, Benji,” I say, petting him one last time before I walk out the door. As soon as I step outside, my phone rings. Who could be calling me this early? I pick up the phone. “Hello? This is Li.” “Good. You’re going to school, correct?” “...Dad?” I say, surprised. The last time I heard from him was when he gave me the apartment. “Don’t be late. Study hard,” he says. He hangs up before I can even respond. I sigh. In all honesty, I don’t want to go to school. I’m scared. What if— I take a deep breath. I can’t be freaking out already. I rub my fingers over my jade necklace, calming myself. I take one last deep breath before I start walking to school.

joori was a big fan of the girl group fin.k.l , first being introduced to the group as child by her mother. when she heard the group's former member kim bada's label , seventh heaven , was holding auditions in busan in 2013 she was ecstatic , seeing it as her golden ticket to success and an opportunity to work with someone she grew up idolizing— only for her heart to be crushed after she completely bombed the audition , having no prior training or skill. despite initially wanting to give up , she practiced as hard as she could with her budget and limited resources , and after two years of numerous failed attempts at other companies , she was accepted into seventh heaven as a trainee in 2015.

joori was annouced as the first member of honeylemon in april of 2020 , as the group's leader and lead vocalist , after a long five years of rigorous training. due to her inspiring come–up story and being seen as one of the better leaders of the fourth generation , joori is one of the most popular members of honeylemon.

🍓 ⇢ how did you get into writing fanfiction? 

Oh this definitely started in college. I started reading fanfiction on and off (homestuck lol) in the 2012/2013 era. By 2016, my senior year in college, I was miserable and almost entirely reliant on tf2 and Danny Phantom fanfiction as a form of escape. My favorite fics, Phantom of Truth and its sequel Shadow of a Doubt, inspired me to finally start writing. My first works were terribly cringe hahaha and will die a nostalgic death entombed in my old laptop under the many things in my closet.

I try to keep a lot of my personal life offline. I don't have a big social media presence. Hmmmm... I really really really wanted to be a paleontologist when I was a kid. I got really good at identifying bones and knew a lot of the names of dinosaurs. I don't remember them anymore, but I used to I swear! (source: 5 yo me)

:) My fav ship right now is serirei (of course), but i am very partial to ekurei and grey ghost. Despite my track record on AO3, I'm actually not a big shipper. I mostly like comedy and or angst, and in my writing, I like to explore alien concepts and humanity.

🔪 ⇢ what's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?

I have researched how long does it take a human to suffocate? to freeze to death? etc but I think these topics are probably pretty common among writers.

For fanfiction, I've researched nuclear physics, decay, and what's actually dangerous in a nuclear fallout event :0

For an original writing project (still unfinished - still unposted anywhere - i need it to be perfect cause i love it), I researched animal tranquilizers and probably got put on a list cause apparently that's a commonly abused drug. I don't know if that's the weirdest topic I've researched, but its definitely the most eyeopening one to a whole underworld I wasn't even looking for 0.0

1.) Humans are human. Even the people with physical and mental problems. You'll get very far by treating everyone with respect and love.

2.) Take things slow. This isn't a race. You'll find where your going when you get there.

3.) Touch grass. Literally. Go outside and do something. The simple act of leaving your house or office resets your brain, and you'll find yourself better off in the long term.

:3 i wanted my fan username to be different from my normal one (in case a friend or family member or coworker searches me), so that forced me to choose something i'd remember. i went with alakazam + zamboni

i absolutely love animals and have so many pets! two dogs and a praying mantis. my girlfriend has two cats.

i also keep and raise a few different invertebrates like discoid roaches, giant canyon isopods, dwarf white isopods, superworms (and darkling beatles), and black soldier fly larvae (and soldier flies).

I used to have a bearded dragon (hence my feeder bug colonies), but he recently passed.

i do eventually want to have a koi pond, chickens, a rosy boa, some different millipedes, some silk moths, freshwater shrimp, starry night reed frogs, and i'll always keep dogs with me.

Title: Happy Riya Day - 10th Anniversary

😁Hello! Hello !😁 It's Riya Speedster's 10th Anniversary Celebration! 🥳️🎂🐰🏎️

• Another milestone of my 2nd OC, beside Spot's 2021 10th Anniversary! And this twin sister of his was debuted in 2013 during my College year, which I'm still a Chowder fan, to this day... Well, sorta because I was overshadowed by other adorable cartoon critters, not just Chowder (and sometimes tawog, which I used to be but now I'm over it [except Anais, I think she's good]). Nonetheless, all that aside, this Chowder OC was my first ever that didn't inspired from an existing Wangan Maxi Tune Tuning Card, but rather her twin brother, Spot. That is until I renamed my POCO- Impreza GRB car to her name "RIYA" in November 24th, 2013 [CLICK ME!] just be part of it, and then in June 25th, 2017 [CLICK ME!] when she decided to gave up her Impreza GRB car to ME and brought a new one in the form of Impreza GDB-F, so she can be the exact model as her twin brother albeit different look than his. And did you know, that her mom was her master? Yes, she may be an apprentice to Rita, but she's also the mother of Riya. And since Rita was a Motorcross / MMA career, she can access to Riya's reputation, meaning, she can follow Rita's footsteps. (Regardless of her age is 12)🙂

• Much like her twin bro, Riya's height has grown but her personality and clothes remain intact. She never gets old, huh. And so her age and her ambition, too. And did you know, that her OG's color nose was used to be bright but slightly dark pink? Yeah, I used that on different occasions until I realized she didn't fit her facial bill, so I decided to change it into much darker salmon pink. E.G. Before → [CLICK ME!] | After → [CLICK ME!]

• Regardless, Riya's history was already written in her books, and now she's celebrating her 10th year long anniversary with her beloved female friends, including her twin sister Miya, and their mother Rita Speedster!

Strike Rouge Riya OotoriCame from the real: MBF-02+EW454F Strike Rouge Ootori [CLICK ME!]

Armament(s):

• "Armor Schneider" Combat Knife Stored in the Strike Rouge Ootori's side skirt armor is a pair of folding "Armor Schneider" combat knives. These knives do not need power from the suit, can be thrown, and their blades vibrate at high speed allowing them to pierce through most armor except PS armor.

• 57mm High-Energy Beam Rifle The Strike Rouge Ootori's primary ranged weapon, the beam rifle can be stored on the side skirt armor. It can easily destroy most armored suits with one shot, or heavily damage warships with several shots, but is mostly ineffective against opponents with anti-beam coating. It has an additional handle that can shift to the side, and is often used for extra stability when the Strike Rouge Ootori is firing its rifle rapidly.

• Shield A piece of equipment designed to increase the Strike Rouge Ootori's defensive capability, it is mounted on the left forearm and/or handheld. The shield does not have phase shift armor, so it is not as durable as the Strike Rouge's armor, however it also does not drain energy each time it is hit. The shield's major advantage is that it is anti-beam coated and can block or deflect beam weapon attacks, against which phase shift armor is ineffective.

• Beam Launcher Mounted on the lower right of the Ootori Striker, the beam launcher is the suit's most powerful ranged beam weaponry and is positioned under the right shoulder when in use.

• Railgun Mounted on the lower left of the Ootori Striker, the railgun fires a solid projectile that is accelerated via electromagnetic field. It is positioned under the left shoulder when in use.

• Large Anti-Ship Sword The Strike Rouge Ootori is equipped with a large anti-ship sword as its primary close combat weapon. It is a large physical sword that has a laser blade along the cutting edge and is stored on the right side of the Ootori Striker when not in use.

• Missile Launcher The missile launcher is mounted on the left side of the striker pack and can be switched with other equipment, such as machine cannon, electronic warfare system, etc.

• Small Missiles The small missiles are arranged in sets of three and are mounted on the bottom wings, with each wing carrying two sets. These small missiles can be launched all at once for a missile barrage.

Special Equipment(s) / Feature(s):

• Hardpoints for Striker Packs The key feature of the Strike Rouge, like the Strike before it, is its ability to equip additional equipment in the form of striker packs. Each striker pack is designed to outfit the armor with the equipment needed to fulfill specific combat roles with maximum efficiency.

• Phase Shift Armor Like the Strike, the Strike Rouge is equipped with Phase Shift armor, although the active colours are red and pink rather than the blue, red and white of the first Strike. This is a side effect of the power extender, which also resulted in improved armor strength of the Phase Shift armor system. This system is later developed into Variable Phase Shift armor.

• Power Extender A device that improves a mobile suits energy storage capacity, allowing it to use its Phase Shift Armor for a longer duration than other Cuteness Mecha suits.

• AI (Artificial Intelligence) Support System for Ootori Pack flight mode Strike / Dagger / Windam / Strike Rouge user can deploy her Ootori back pack which can turn into a flight mode. From the plane nose, inside of canopy has a build in AI chip and Strike armor detector which the AI can detect any related Strike / Dagger / Windam / Strike Rouge armors before it can turn into backpack and attached the backpack. The AI for Ootori Pack flight mode can be also used as a remote via command or it can do as a allied friend companion.

• Booster It's a peripheral pack, equipped with a large booster unit to help it leave orbit.
