The Best Lenses for Photographers with Shaky Hands
Before image stabilization, photographers used to either use a tripod or control their breathing when taking photos. This prevented camera shake — which is partially caused by shaky hands. These days, image stabilization is very effective. But still, many photographers don’t practice the older ways. So if you’ve got shaky hands for one reason or another, we’re rounding up some of the best lenses…

Happy Star and Exclamation Mark are smooching behind the scenes.
Now, you may be thinking something along the lines of "TheFourFan on Tumblr.com, what the fuck.", which I don't blame you for thinking, without context, I too would assume this was some sort of joke. But I must inform you all of the things I witnessed Sunday evening at 8:24 P.M.
Let me set the scene for a moment: I was relaxing in my room, watching Happy Star's Guide to Object Shows on my phone and Animatic Battle on my Kindle Fire at the exact same time because I'm chronically online and have an extreme addiction to object shows. I had been doing that for the past 13 hours, just mindlessly consuming as much OSC content as one human could ever possibly conceive to satiate my burning passion for object shows.
However, my OSC watching streak was abruptly broken when Happy Star and Exclamation Mark leaped out of both of my screens and began to passionately make out right then and there on my carpeted floors, directly in front of me and my Four, X, Paintbrush, and Airy plushies. It was incredibly sloppy and I'm 99% sure there was some crazy tongue action going on. They were so gay that my room became instantly tinted with the colors of the gay flag. They were so gay that the massive rainbow pride flag hanging on my wall immediately became a straight flag, as Happy Star and Exclamation Mark had completely absorbed all the gayness out of it during their homosexual make out session. They were so gay that homophobia went extinct.
I pulled out my Panasonic Lumix S5M2X Full Frame Mirrorless Camera with 20-60mm Lens Demo and recorded their make out session as proof that my crosship was actually canon and I wasn't crazy. The footage was 2 hours, 56 minutes, 18 seconds, and 55 milliseconds long. I was about to upload the video to Tumblr but then the camera INSTANTLY exploded, killing everyone on planet Earth. I'm currently writing this in the hfjONE waiting room as we speak.
I swear this all happened guys trust me bro

I can't remember where I saw the idea, but for wargaming, I like the idea of when you have civilians as part of the game, either as objectives or mission extras, you can have regular civilians are a big unit of models, like say on a 40mm to 60mm base, while important VIPs are on regular scale bases, so 20-25mm for humans, and larger for larger models.

When a wave takes you by surprise at the beach and you accidentally swallow a nasty gulp of salt water, that nasty taste isn’t just salt. Photographer David Littschwager captured this amazing shot of a single drop of seawater magnified 25 times to reveal an entire ecosystem of crab larva, diatoms, bacteria, fish eggs, zooplankton, and even worms. Read more about what you probably don’t want to know at Dive Shield.
Marine Microfauna – part of the contents of one dip of a hand net. The magnification was 2x life size, meaning that the actual frame size was a half inch high, so depending on how big the image is on your screen you can calculate the magnification as you see it. To keep as much focus as possible the sample is in as little water as possible just covering the bottom of a 60mm petri dish. That takes about 15 drops of water, but you are only seeing a very small portion of the total sample.
The slide was photographed aboard the NOAA Ship Oscar Elton Sette off Kona, September 20, 2006.

Do you have any suggestions for an entry-level macro setup for someone with a Nikon DSLR? Ideally something less than a few hundred dollars?
So there's lots of options for entry level macro!
Macro filters - These just screw on to the front of your lens and give you extra magnification. They're how I got started. Lots of options and brands here, I'd recommend getting a larger one and then a stop down kit (typically around $20-30) so they can be used on all of your lenses
Raynox 250 - A clip on macro filter. I use this on my macro lens to do super macros. I like it because unlike tubes I can still auto focus well (when doing macros you typically manual focus most of the time but I use this with moving bugs where auto focus is easier/better)
Various macro lenses. I'm assuming you're shooting with a crop sensor (dx) camera. Nikon makes a 40mm and an 85mm macro lens that are dx. There's also the 60mm 2.8, 105mm 2.8, and the 200 f4 (very expensive and big and bulky but the queen of macro). There's older versions of the 60mm that are just as good and cheaper than the newer model. Always check craigslist and marketplace, you can typically haggle for a lower price and this lets you try out the lens. Sigma also makes some great macro lenses. Nikon lenses are really cheap right now because everyone is jumping to mirrorless
35mm 1.8 dx - Not a true macro lens but does focus semi close. This was my go to lens on my D7100
Laowa lenses - these are fully manual lenses but they allow for greater than 1:1 magnification. Kind of pricy but used would be cheaper if you can find them.
Extension tubes (I use these ones). These will give you a bit of diffraction and you lose light so you'll need longer shutter speeds/better lighting but they work great. I like that these ones work with the electronics. They technically autofocus but it's crap. They work great with my D850s built in focus stack feature though.
