SIDE STORY#1
SHENANIGANS #2
Tumblr media
you rolled around with a groan on the grass, the sun hitting you at full force yet it didn't bother nor burn you and you were grateful.
what bothered you was the fact that you were bored.
that and you did not have internet connection.
when you first woke up, you had your phone with you and it was working just fine but when you realised that you were indeed in genshin impact as soon as you settled in sumeru and reality hit you like a chancla being thrown at you by your mother's hand, you realised that you didn't have your charger with you.
simply your phone in your pocket and your wallet but you doubt that the currency you used back home would come in handy in teyvat.
from where you were seated, by the south entrance of sumeru city on the grass, the blonde traveler, whose floating companion was not with her, watched you with an amused expression, "what is it, [name]?"
you lifted your head and looked at her, grass adorning your dishevelled hair.
oh! and you were pouting.
cute.
"I'm bored..."
lumine sighed, sympathising with you.
the first time she found herself in teyvat, she realised that she could get bored easily without what she used to do to get rid of boredom on the previous planet she was staying on with her twin.
so to get rid of boredom once in teyvat, the traveler from afar explored the region you would have just unlocked in the game and explored with her, again, as much as she could when you were taking a break from having to help her with the archons' requests for help with their nations.
"hmm... do you want to explore?"
you perked up at her suggestion and quickly scrambled to sit back on your legs, eyes wide, same for the grin on your face.
"yes! I want to visit Inazuma."
"weren't you the one that kept on muttering how much you hated Inazuma?"
you gasped loudly, earning the curious stares of sumeru city's passer-bys, "yes! simply cause the thunder kept hitting you! that and the enemies are a pain in the ass."
the first sage of buer couldn't help but agree with your words before adding, "undercover, though."
you nod once in response, grinning from ear-to-eat.
"then–"
"you are not going anywhere," wanderer's voice sounded out as he made his way over to the two of you, coming out of the city.
you pout at him, visibly deflating and, knowing that it was futile to try and convince the puppet, the traveler wrapped an arm around your waist, saying how visiting inazuma would be for next time.
when it's safer.
the ex-fatui harbinger watched you two before sighing and pitching the bridge of his nose then looked back at you two as he crossed his arms over his chest, "not unless you bring me with you."
he hoped buer would forgive him for that.
he also hoped that he wouldn't regret his decision. though after seeing how you looked at him in both admiration and gratefulness, a part of him knew that he wouldn't.
a tug could be felt in his chest, where his heart should have been, has he not been a puppet but a human.
unbeknownst to him, irminsul already delivered their next itinerary to the archon of wisdom.
and the little god simply smiled gently.

3 K-drama moments (January edition)
1. Kim Hae-sook expressing her rage at a young Japanese officer in full satoori and banmal in Gyeongseong Creature. Until this point she has been a capable right hand to Park Seo-joon, restrained, deadly efficient and completely unshakeable. But long-simmering fears and frustrations are boiling over everywhere in Gyeongseong and elsewhere, resulting in this atypical, shocking conversation with a junior officer who sympathises with them but cannot bridge the colonial gap. Language is so significant in this genre, and it’s so visceral when Kim Hae-sook openly vents to this man in her own language, in her own dialect.
Gyeongseong Creature is a pretty dark take on human experimentation, the last gasp of colonial horrors in a dying empire and the endurance of community. Park Seo-joon (and Han So-hee to a lesser extent) have to be the heroes; nonetheless the story understands that liberation is won not by strong-jawed men who talk pretty, but by community, by ordinary people doing extraordinary things together.
Kdrama has a wealth of supporting actors and it's no different here, with Jo Han-cheol, Kang Mal-geum, the aforementioned Kim Hae-sook, Claudia Kim and lovely, lovely Kim Yoon-woo in an affecting subplot (you might have seen him as Ryang Eum in My Dearest). Hate that Netflix made this one a cliffhanger, but they got me. Now, please give us a grown up romance with Jo Han-cheol in it. Our man's earned it.
2. Jung Jin-young’s vividly joyous sex life with his partner played by Yang Mal-bok in LTNS. The astonishing tenderness of their meeting, their love story and the joy he has brought to her arid, parched life are all so well-done that I had a lump in my throat throughout the episode.
This show took atypical love and affair stories, the sort we tend to mock or criticise - the plain girl sleeping with the married colleague, the fiftysomethings rediscovering their zest for life in each other’s bodies, the married lipstick lesbian who keeps coming back into her ex’s life - and offered so much kindness and love in the writing and the framing of those stories. @drivingsideways remarked that it was so different from anything Kdrama has given us, and that is completely correct.
Esom and Ahn Jae-hong were beyond excellent as a troubled couple that maybe shouldn't have married all those years ago - people who were maybe always a little too different, and then papered over their differences with the routines of matrimony. I suspect this was all too real to appeal to the general audience and I don't think this is going to be nomination-heavy. But it deserves to be.
3. Hwa-rok running from the handsome Officer Jeong in the brilliantly written The Matchmakers. The youngest sister in the famously unmarried trio of Namsan, Hwa-rok is a very relatable babe who really wants to get married! Get a husband! Have SEX! - and manifests this through her popular erotica series. The bond between Hwa-rok and the shy, upright officer whose first introduction to her is all the erotica she writes is one of the most adorable plots on this incredibly cute show.
I have several feelings about The Matchmakers, namely that it is the rare romance I respect despite the minimal chemistry between the leads. The writing was top-notch and the lead acting didn't quite live up to it - this is not a criticism of Cho Yi-hyun or Rowoon, but rather a testament to the sheer wealth of talent in Kdrama and how accustomed we've become to actors elevating material. Rowoon surprisingly grew on me in this, with his physicality and his looks somehow making Gyeongwoonjae indelible despite his iPhone-knowing face. I might do a separate post on this yet, but it was absolutely worth the watch, and all of you were right, especially @haraxvati who bravely advocated for Rowoon's talents.

question to radfems who play project sekai: what is your analysis on mizuki?
My take is going to be very "on the surface" as I tried to play the game twice (bc there are a lot of cool songs (vocaloid and not) incl 2 by mafu) but just don't like the gameplay mainly for the upward flick notes and I don't follow stories of the games I don't play so I skimmed the wiki for cards and some quick info. So (using sex-based pronouns for the character Mizuki here):
Mizuki is a crossdressing male, voiced by an actual female actress. His gender is stated to be unknown, the character himself uses "boku" which is used by males and tomboyish females, the game either avoids using pronouns or uses "kare" which is "he" but I see people say is also used gender-neutrally for "they" (male pronoun is used as gender neutral, who's surprised? Not me), eng version uses "they", the playable characters who didn't know him before he grew out his hair and started dressing in feminine clothing sometimes use "she". He is and was bullied in school for liking cute things, was/is still(?) depressed bc of it (even wanted to commit suicide), mostly skips school but not so much he'll be made to repeat a year. Good at altering/making(?) clothes and making music videos. And well the being bullied/depressed can be easily sympathised with, and his talents appreciated. Worth noting that being bullied for liking cute things bc they're "for girls" is a strictly male experience (but idk the details and can say that if a girl is bullied for that (if by other girls I mean) it usually goes w it being her hyperfixation if she's autistic, if by boys it's bc they just bully just bc.). However, the way the character is coping is... not really cool. He engages in consumerism and recreating his idea of "cute" with wearing dresses, thighhighs and heels(?)/feminine shoes and using infantile (yes mainstream cute in jp really is that) poses and face expressions such as : ○, : ↿, : - and :p and "foxy" (cunning?) expression with a slight smile and slightly lowered brows. Most of the cards have him with these expressions, but also a lot of them have him portrayed pretty happy, some are just neutral but usually include a "cute" pose. One or two looked like the character is evil/insane (glowing eyes and a wide smile without showing teeth :) ), and then like again JUST one or two look like the character is sad (younger version with short hair and masculine clothing crying and another which looks more like serious/deep in thoughts and has a pretty dark palette). He doesn't call himself a girl though and doesn't try to convince anyone that he is one, instead he hopes he can be viewed as just "Mizuki" like he is. Means he's just a gendernonconforming guy that is unfortunately imitating/perpetuating harmful stereotypes generated by the culture he currently lives in.
Edit: also he used to experience dysphoria/dysmorphia if he used to cover the mirror?
(Disclaimer about femininity: it was created and is constantly modified to opress the female part of the human population, which is punished for both following it and refusing to follow it. If a male is uncomfortable with masculine gender roles, which are used to learn to opress and tries to follow the other set of rules he is bullied for CHOOSING the "loser" position that is used for women and everything associated with them. This is an EFFECT of misogyny but is again a strictly male experience which means it isn't misogyny itself)
I'm trying to reflect what my PERSONAL gripes are here: when I chose that band bc the theme of trauma resonates with me most out of all the others (I mean the group with a (self-made)trainee and 3 ex-idols just by description sounds meh bc female idols are exploited too strongly but I hope they're characterised well ig, I didn't get to research that when choosing and tbh now too, the group about reconnection sounds ok but too slice-of-life-y, the other two are mixed, I mean have boys) and I hoped it was a group of just girls trying to be supportive of each other and to overcome hardships together and then among them saw this kinda shallow infantile character who also mostly didn't even look depressed and looked "playfully cutesy" and happy and was also a "trans girl" (which to me explained these shallow imitations of being a girl) but turns out it's the fandom shouting about trans so loudly and occasionally about nb, and shutting down any discussion about him being male. Idk if the storywriters and artists are ever trying to make a comment about gender roles or just want an actually shallow cute-pretty appealing with looks character. I do not want to research any further and if anyone actually following the story of the game can tell me if the matters are made better or worse, I'll be glad. For now I can say I don't have a strongly negative reaction to the character anymore, as intentions matter, but still remain critical of him not reflecting on why he is following what society says is cute and why is he not dropping out of high school if he doesn't need it?
Disclaimer for gender-pilled tumblr community: I reflected on my kneejerk hateful reaction to a character and softened a bit but still remain critical for slightly different reasons now. I know you don't like sex-based pronouns but if you come here to argue please read the whole thing first

Attack on titan Oc(portrait)
Tumblr media
Fae (not last name as yet)
A farm girl turned soldier. At the moment, she only has one friend, that being Jean since she grew up with him (grew up as in being playmates.) She's soft spoken, often times preferring to simply stay quiet and listen. Her appearance seemed off to some people, having bright eyes yet a blank expression on her face.
It was considered creepy by few, cute by some.
She lacked facial expressions, and lacked the ability to identify them in other people, often expressing her sadness/anger in a blank stare. It's hard to know what she's feeling, but Jean had mastered that art.
She finds enjoyment in small things, bugs, trees, birds and environments, often times pulled I to a fixation whenever something moves in her peripheral vision. Very attentive, sees alot while nothing at the same time. She's constantly fretting over every fixation to Jean, showing whatever is in her hands or in the distance.
"Look look, that's a ferret. I've never seen on up close before, they look like a wiggly stick... very long..."
Says the most pointless things to ever grace the ears, but Jean is all up for it for 2 reasons: 1, she's his friend and he cares for her. 2, her ramblings are interesting.
Despite this, some (1 person) sees her constant fixation as an obstacle, a telltale sign to her comfort with living in a cage. He detested her carefree airhead ways, often times wondering 'How can someone find enjoyment in stupid things?'
But this is not about him.
With lacking emotional awareness, she also lacked a sense of danger, often times masking horrible events with a veil. It had started smile, seeing a dead animal and brushing it off too "It's just blood. They'll get up soon" to eventually pushing events to the subconscious and regressing to a mindset before titans.
Delusional to an extent, handles betrayal and heart break poorly. Lies to herself to ease the pain.
Her blank expressions remains that, but there's visible exhaustion in her wide eyes.
She fixates on the minor things once more. She enjoys her alone time, but also enjoys times with Jean.
However, people often assume that she is simply stupid, with the way Jean fret over her. So, in their attempt to be more like Jean, mimics him poorly.
A great difference is that Jean speaks to Fae in a calming understanding manner, sympathising with her often and briefly explaining things to her so she can get an idea. He understands that she lacks certain awarenesses, but sees her in no different light.
The others speaks to her as if she's 5, needing her hand held and taught right or wrong. Needing to learn how to operate as a human being.
Their unintentional mocking of her awareness and intelligence drove her to work harder to be a better soldier. She was going to be a soldier. She is a soldier.

Every few hours the thought hits me that c!Tommy never got a healing arc (bc his feelings werent prioritised or taken seriously) and died trying to take his abuser out and sympathizing with him even after c!Dream didnt take his attempted suicide seriously n blamed Him for ruining His life even to the very end.. all because they wanted a stream that focused on Poor c!Dweamie's Feewings, they matter so much more than his canonical abuse victim, he couldnt hang out with his friends that he cut off cuz he wanted to abuse a child :((( this justifies said child abuse and deserves sympathy, see,
Like we already knew he lost his friends? Cause that was a willing decision he made ?? Why are we supposed to Care why is c!Tommy supposed to Care why couldnt c!Tommy's story have been focused on getting his abuser out the picture and going on to recover and heal and live a happy life. Why did he have to apologise to him.
c!Dream did Literally Nothing to deserve being sympathised with by his victim, he did not care what he did to him, and c!Tommy's ending being him "understanding c!Dream's motives" before dying is so Violently Uncomfortable to Me. c!Tommy is a forgiving person so both paths, whether he forgave him or not (I'm Aware he Didnt.) makes sense to me but there's something so Deeply Disturbing about him having to Understand c!Dream's Motives For Abusing and Murdering Him while never getting even a Sorry back .
Why were c!Dream's motives and feelings prioritised. In the Slightest. He wasnt interested in redeeming himself or caring about those he's hurt, So Why are We Supposed To Care About His Feelings. Who gives a Fuck if he's Sad 😭
We've already explored the "villains, even ones who do horrific shit are humans too with their own motives and sadness" with other people like c!Q and c!Sam, we Know c!Dream is human. We didnt need a stream where his abuse victim has to try to understand or care about his reasoning to Know c!Dream Is Human.
God man. They couldnt even have the balls to let c!Tommy go on to heal and recover. They wrote him being abused, never let him recover from it and then had him die 2 years later trying to take out his abuser with no chance of a healing arc. And then gave us a shitty amnesia plot where him and his Past Abuser are now fwiends !! 🥺
And now so Much of the fandom believe that the moral of the story is that Both of them were villains, that Nobody is actually the bad guy, that c!Tommy needed to realize he played a hand in his abuse, that He needed to face consequences too, that c!Dream was Actually Sympathetic and Redeemable bc he whined for 5 minutes about the friends He cut off, that the ending is okay bc "c!Tommy doesnt Actually forgive c!Dream" etc
Like we Knew c!Dream was a different person before all this. Can we focus on how c!Tommy was, too? That he entered the server a bright and mischievous 16 year old, who would enjoy playing harmless pranks on people but would be aware when they went too far, who genuinely enjoyed even people like c!Dream's company at first? Can we talk about how c!Tommy left the server completely traumatized and broken, dying to take his abuser out without ever getting the chance to heal and become even a sliver of who he once was? Who Cares that c!Dream was happy before he cut off his friends to abuse a child

The Myth of Y/N (Korra x Reader UNREQUITED) Part 19
Hello everyone!
Before I start the latest chapter:
After two weeks since I asked the big question to everyone, I have come to a decision.
When looking at the comments from all of my accounts that have The Myth of Y/N story, I divided the answers into three categories. They were:
1) Have Y/N's feelings stay unrequited from beginning to end.
2) Have Korra eventually return Y/N's feelings.
3) Fine with either outcomes.
Overall the results were:
Have Y/N's feelings stay unrequited from beginning to end - 8
Have Korra eventually return Y/N's feelings - 9
Fine with either outcomes - 3
As you can see...it's pretty split between the two choices.
There was also a few who really wanted to see the romance between Y/N and Kyuni and have them being endgame rather than Y/N and Korra.
I remember when I asked the question to you all that at the end of the day I'm writing all of this to entertain you and that's what matters to me the most. And that is true. This story is for you all. However, what's also important to me is that I myself am satisfied with my story.
So what will I do?
As of currently, I am planning on satisfying both sides as best as I can. There will be a romance between Y/N and Kyuni, but the ultimate endgame will be Y/N and Korra. I really hope this doesn't affect any of your enjoyment of the series and if so then I am sorry. If you do not wish to continue reading then I completely understand.
What do you all think? Feedback will be most appreciated.
Also, should I change the name of the story by removing the "UNREQUITED" bit? What do you all think?
Now, without further ado, let’s get started on the latest chapter:
A NEW AGE
Earth. Fire. Air. Water.
After Avatar Korra saved the world from the forces of Unalaq and Vaatu, she told us that nothing will be the same again. She was right. For better and for worse.
This was when the rebirth of a nation begun. This was when I had to face one of my hardest challenges yet.
This...was the biggest change in my life.
BOOK THREE: CHANGE
Y/N'S POV
"Did I mention I'm so lucky those stupid vines haven't entered my home?"
I look up from a newspaper I'm reading to gaze at Kyuni who is looking out of her apartment's window. Ever since Harmonic Convergence two weeks ago there have been a lot, and I mean a LOT, of vines in the city, with several of them having entered many people's homes and other buildings. Spirits, I even heard that one of the vines has made themselves nice and cosy in President Raiko's office.
A lot of homes has been affected by the vines...but fortunately Kyuni's apartment hasn't been affected.
And, spirits, let me tell you how many times she has told me how lucky she is that she hasn't been affected. Seriously, she has told me so many times I've lost count.
I don't mind, though. Honestly, it's kind of cute.
...
Dammit.
"You may have mentioned it once or twice." I teasingly reply, a mischievous smile on my face.
The firebender turns back to me and gives me an eye roll. "Yeah, yeah I get it. I've said it a lot."
I chuckle at her reply and turn my attention back to the newspaper. "You know I'm only joking. I don't blame you for mentioning a lot. You are lucky."
If only President Raiko and Korra were as lucky as Kyuni.
Since the Unalaq crisis and the beginning of the new age, there has been a lot of controversy surrounding how Korra handled it and her desire for spirits and human's living together. There has also been a lot of criticism towards Raiko for how he is handling it as well. I can tell from the latest headline: "Raik-oh-no. Polls pans prez plans!" As I skim read the article I learn that the President's approval rates are at a devastating 15%.
And Korra's?
8%.
When I learned how so little people approved of Korra's decisions and actions I was furious. I get that this big decision is a lot, and I completely understand and sympathise with those who are frustrated that their homes are being ruined by the vines, but Korra just saved all of our asses and she gets this in return? Come on!
I fold the newspaper, place it on the round wooden table, and lie back on the comfy sofa. I sigh in frustration at the whole situation but I take a good time to look at Kyuni's apartment again. It's been a while since I've been here but it hasn't really changed. From the crimson red walls to the gentle and calm candles scattered around and the beautifully painted dragon canvases on the walls. It's a nice place, I got to admit.
Kyuni looks back to me in response to my frustrated sigh, her right eyebrow raised. "What's the matter?"
I glance back at to her and lean forward slightly. "Eh, nothing. Just a bit frustrated at how Korra's been treated by the public since Harmonic Convergence."
The firebender hums in agreement and proceeds to sit down on the sofa next to me. "If there's one thing us humans love to do it's complaining."
I snort at her comment. "You're telling me. Before I arrived here, Korra told me she was going to the centre of the vines with Tenzin and Jinora to see if she can find a way to get rid of them. Let's hope she has found a solution by now."
"Hopefully." Kyuni agrees. "But, hey, I like the idea of humans and spirits being friends rather than being at each other's throats. A more connected community, you know? I've had plenty of experience of infighting myself."
Huh?
I notice Kyuni's eyes go a bit darker as she said her last sentence, a slight frown on her face.
I raise my eyebrow in curiosity. "What do you mean?"
In a flash, Kyuni's eyes widen in surprise and quietly curses under breath. I guess she didn't realise what she said before it was too late.
"Oh, uh, nothing. I meant like seeing family dramas with other people and such, you know?" she blurts out, painfully obvious that she is hiding something. I won't bring it up, though. If she doesn't want to tell me then I will respect her decision.
"Ah, that's fair." I tell her, ignoring her blunder. "I'm having no family problems at the moment, fortunately. My parents and I bicker at times, but we love each other."
Kyuni sighs (in relief that I "didn't notice" her mistake?) and nods in agreement. "That's good."
An awkward silence occurs after Kyuni's blunder. After a while, I decide it's time for me to go back to Air Temple Island.
"I better head off, actually." I tell Kyuni, rising from the sofa. "I'm gonna check if Korra's found a solution to the vine problem."
"Yeah..." the firebender trails off, clearly tensed.
I walk towards the door and slowly open it, creaking as I do it. Before I walk away, I glance back at my friend. "Hey, Kyuni."
She looks back up at me, her right eyebrow raised again in curiosity. "Yeah?"
I gaze into her golden orange eyes, noticing how they are shining, and her smooth blood-red lips. I gulp in response and I can feel myself sweating a bit. Nevertheless, I continue. "You know you can always tell me anything, right? I'm always here for you.
I see Kyuni's tense posture slowly melt away as her eyes soften and a small, gentle, soft smile forms on her lips. "I know. Thank you, Y/N."
The firebender rises from the sofa and slowly walks towards me, her smile slowly rising as she gets closer. Once she's close enough, she cups my right cheek she leans forward and plants a gentle kiss on my left.
Uhhhhhhhhhh
I feel my cheeks warming up from the soft contact. As Kyuni leans back I see her cheeks are bright red. No doubt my face is like that too.
"Bye, Y/N." she quietly tells me.
Uhhhhhhhhhh
I slowly start to walk away, waving as I do so. "Uh, yeah. Bye, Kyuni."
I finally walk out of the apartment and out into the city, cold air breezing across my face. My cheeks have finally cooled down.
Dammit.
Ever since the whole Unalaq crisis ended I have been thinking a lot. Specifically, my feelings...again. Feelings about Korra...and Kyuni.
DAMMIT!
This is so confusing. I still have a massive crush on Korra, no doubt about that. But now I've been hanging out more with Kyuni I've started to feel...warm, like I feel with Korra. Not to mention I notice things about her that I find attractive, such as her humour, the way she laughs, not to mention her beauty.
It also doesn't help I've been teased about it a lot since I met the firebender.
"Okay, have fun at your date!"
"It's Kyuni, isn't it? I knew you liked her!"
"So...you and Kyuni, huh?"
"I see the way she looks at you."
"If you haven't noticed Kyuni's love eyes at you then you really are oblivious."
"But, if I were you, I would make a move as soon as possible."
The last two comments from Jinora have also gotten me curious. Does Kyuni like me? It looks like she does but could I just be overthinking it? Ugh, this is so confusing.
I walk into a secluded alley as I make my journey to the docks. Weirdly enough the city is kind of quiet today.
My mind is still plagued with all these confusing feelings. I know I care about Korra more, that much is certain. I don't want to lead Kyuni on or anything or give her mixed signals. Should I bring it up? Should I not? Now that Korra is single, I do technically have a chance. I'm not planning on doing anything yet, its been two weeks since her breakup with Mako after all, but I still have a chance.
Do I have a chance, though? Is Korra ever going to like me the way I like her? If not, should I just move on? Maybe Kyuni could be a way of moving o-
-Raava, what am I thinking? I shouldn't think of Kyuni like she's some sort of alternative solution. She's a person, for spirits sake. My friend! Bad Y/N!
Spirits, enough with these confusing feelings. I can think about them later, for now I just need to get back to-
-I feel a slight stinging sensation on my back, as well as hot, heavy, breaths on the back of my neck which make me shiver to the bone.
"Give me everything you got." a rough, croaky, male voice said from behind. "Money, expensive items, everything. And make it fast."
Am...am I getting robbed?
The sharp pain in my back increases as the man drives the object, presumably a knife, a little bit deeper into my back.
"Well, are you deaf?" the man rhetorically asks me, clearly frustrated. "Give me everything you got, now!"
Yep. I'm getting robbed.
I'm not afraid, though. I've been in plenty of situations far worse than this. Also, is this guy seriously going to rob me, of all people, and in broad daylight?
"No offense, but are you stupid?" I cockily tell the man, not afraid by him at all.
"Wh-what?" the robber responds, clearly confused by my question. His confusion and hesitance allows me to elbow him in the stomach, allowing me to break way from the contact and give us some distance. I finally have a good look at this guy. He looks like he is from a Water Tribe, considering his water tribe getup despite it looking shaggy and roughed up with dirt all over it. He also has pale blue eyes, and a short, messy untied beard. And, spirits, he smells like a unwashed Polar Bear dog (no offense, Naga.) The man's eyes are widened and his mouth agape, surprised with my confidence and the fact I created some distance.
"Are you stupid?" I repeat myself, my hands on my hips and a cocky smile forming on my lips. "I mean, firstly, it's broad daylight. Not the best time to rob someone, like, at all. And, secondly, do you have any idea who I am? Clearly you don't since you were trying to threaten me. Trust me, dude, it's not going to work out."
Despite my warning, the man does not listen. Instead, his face flashes to anger, his eyes full of rage and hatred and a massive frown on his face. Yep, he's pissed. "Is this some sort of joke to you?!"
"Yep." I respond immediately, not fazed at all by his anger. "Absolutely."
The robber grates his teeth in anger, the frown deepening, and his eyes gazing right into my own. Here it comes.
"THAT'S IT! YOU'RE DEAD!"
Spirits, if I had a yuan for every time I was threatened I would be richer than Asami.
The man charges at me, screaming as he does it, holding his knife right in front of him, ready to swing.
Whelp, time to get some more chi-blocking practice.
I clench my right fist, raise it, and send it right towards the man and-
-Out of nowhere, a gust of wind blows the robber back several meters away and into a dumpster, knocking him out cold!
WHAT?!
WAS...WAS THAT...?!
My jaw drops to the floor as I examine my fist, the robber now long forgotten. My eyes are wider than they have ever been.
WAS THAT AIRBENDING? DID I DO THAT?
MAYBE I WAS JUST IMAGINING IT? YEAH, I HAVE GOT TO BEEN! IF I TRY IT AGAIN NOTHING WOULD HAPPEN, RIGHT?!
I raise my fist yet again and thrust it forward, only for a gust of air to appear out of nowhere once more!
IT HAPPENED AGAIN!
I...I CAN AIRBEND!
OH SHT OH SHIT OH SHIT!
I NEED TO TELL EVERYONE, NOW!
Before I start running, I look back at the robber, still unconscious.
Ah, right.
I'll take this guy to the police station and then I'll get back to Air Temple Island.
I look back at my hands, my shock now replaced with excitement.
I can airbend!
SHORT TIMESKIP
Korra's POV
Bumi can airbend! I can't believe it!
It was all so sudden. We were at the dinner table after I came back from the argument I had with Raiko about the spirit vines to find Bumi trying to airbend. No-one believed him when he said he did it before. I thought Bumi was just being Bumi. That is, until, Meelo threw a plate at him and the retired commander stopped it with airbending! The looks on everyone's faces when we saw him did that was that of complete shock. I felt like my eyes were about to pop out of my face!
Right now we are outside of the temple on the grounds, as Bumi tries to airbend again. So far, though, he is unsuccessful. I'm trying to figure out how this is even possible. Does the Spirit World have something to do with it? I'll ask Tenzin about it.
"Do you think being in the Spirit World during Harmonic Convergence could've given him bending?" I ask him, my voice full of confusion.
"I suppose it's possible." Tenzin responds, clearly trying to figure out an explanation as well.
"Maybe Uncle Bumi is a late bloomer." Ikki responds. Honestly, that is possible. He is the son of Avatar Aang after all, the world's last airbender at the time of the retired commander's birth. Even though there have been no cases of it happening, at least to my knowledge, it's certainly possible.
As I am thinking over the possibilities, I see Chief Beifong and Mako walking up to us, the former weirdly looking at Bumi, obviously confused by his actions.
"Invisible spirit monster attack?" she asks us, her back turned to us. Oh how she couldn't be more wrong.
"Lin! You won't believe believe this." Tenzin begins, clearly excited by what is happening. "Bumi just started airbending."
At the corner of my eye I see the Chief and Mako look at each other, eyes slightly widened. Beifong then turns to us, her demeanour serious. "I'm afraid he's not the only one."
WAIT WHAT?!
"What?!" Me, Asami, and Tenzin all let out at once, our surprise obvious. There are more airbenders?!
"I got a call last night about a guy who just started airbending out of nowhere." Mako explains, his demeanour as serious as Beifong's.
I can't believe it. There really are more airbenders!
"You mean there's another one?" Tenzin asks the firebender, his curiosity at its peak. "Where is he now?"
Mako looks away with us, looking sort of...embarrassed? "He...blew a door down on me and got away."
Ah. Well...that would explain it.
Mako turns back to us, though, his embarrassment gone. "We've got an all-point bulletin out on him right-"
"-GUYS!"
The sudden shout grabs our attention right away as we look to the source of it.
It's Y/N! And they're running right towards us! Did something happen?!
They finally stop dead in front of us, leaning forwards with their hands on their knees as they try to catch their breath.
"Y/N?" I ask them, concern in my voice. "Is something wrong?"
They look back up and, once they have finally caught their breath, looks at all of us with excitement written all across their features, with their big dumb grin and their shining E/C. "I can airbend!"
WHAT?! Y/N IS AN AIRBENDER TOO?!
"What?!" everyone lets out this time, our jaws dropped to the floor.
Y/N raises their hands in a calming motion, their joy not fading. "Seriously! I was walking home from Kyuni's place but then a guy came up and tried to rob me. I was about to chi-block them and then all of a sudden I used airbending and sent him flying. I took him to the police station and immediately left to tell you guys!"
I...I can't believe it! Y/N, an airbender?!
"Hey, you're an airbender too!" Bumi lets out in joy. "First me, then some guy Mako found, and now you!"
"Wait, what?!" Y/N lets out, completely surprised as we are. "There are more airbenders?!"
"It looks like it." Tenzin tells them. "We must find this other airbender as soon as possible."
We must! This is huge!
"Yes." Mako agrees. "As I was saying, we've got an all-point bulletin out on the other airbender right now."
"We can help you look for him." I suggest to him.
Mako, though, ends up freezing, his body tensing up. "Oh, well, you know, you should...you should leave it to the police. It's...police business, you know. It's, um...official."
Uhhhhhh....all right then.
"Okay." I reluctantly tell him. I then remember what Bolin said about Mako practically living at the police station. "How are you doing? You know you're welcome to stay here instead of sleeping at the police station."
That offer seems to make Mako even more nervous, who is avoiding eye contact with both me and Asami. "No, I'm fine. I should just get...going." He finally musters up the courage to look at both us, switching back and forth. "So! As you were...ladies."
And, with a salute, the firbender awkwardly walks way.
Well...that just happened.
I knew things were going to be a bit awkward with Mako for a while since our breakup is still relatively recent but I had no idea it was going to be this awkward.
"So..." Y/N starts, who, like everyone, witnessed that weird conversation. "Do we have any more leads on other airbenders?!"
"At the moment, no." Tenzin tells my best friend with a hint of hope in his voice. "But with what we just learned its highly possible there will be more soon."
Wait, I got an idea!
I turn to Asami, a bright grin on my face. "How about you and I go tour around the city to find that guy?"
A small, radiant smile forms on Asami's lips. "That sounds like a great idea. Lets get moving."
Awesome! It will be nice to hang out with Asami whilst we try to find this man.
I turn back to everyone. "Asami and I are heading out. We'll tell you if we find the other airbender."
Y/N'S POV
I watch as Korra and Asami walk off to head to the city. They've been hanging quite a lot these past couple weeks. I'm glad to see there's no tension anymore between those two. It looks like they are becoming great friends.
My mind is snapped back into reality as Bolin wraps an arm around my shoulder, a massive grin on his face. "I can't believe you're an airbender now! We have each and every element on Team Avatar! Me for earth, Mako for fire, you for air, and water for Korra! How cool is that?!"
I snicker at his comment as I wrap an arm around the earthbender's shoulder too. "I guess so."
Suddenly, all of the airkids rush up to me, excitement in their eyes.
"Does that mean you and Bumi are going to be an Air Nomads like us?" Jinora asks, obvious joy in her tone.
"Oh, yes! Please, please, PLEASE join us!" Ikki adds on, jumping up and down.
"Once you join us you can never leave!" Meelo exclaims, his big grin overshadowing the somewhat sinister nature of the sentence.
Bolin squeals in enthusiasm as well, his smile somehow widening even further. "Oh yeah! You can be an Air Nomad That's awesome!"
Become an Air Nomad?
"All right, everyone. That's enough." Tenzin declares, his voice stern. "Just because Y/N and Bumi are airbenders now doesn't mean we should pressure them. If they do not wish to become an Air Nomad then we should respect their wishes."
The airbending master turns to Bumi and I, his face softening with a gentle smile forming. "However, we will be honoured if both of you decide to fully join our culture."
Bumi doesn't hesitate at all with his answer. "Count me in!"
Tenzin nods at his brother turns to me, a gentle smile on his face. "And you, Y/N?"
Me...an Air Nomad.
That's...that's a huge thing.
It will be a big change in my life, that's for sure.
But am I ready?
I mean...I already know a decent amount of the culture to begin with since I find it all so interesting, not to mention I've excelled at some of the practices. And not only will I help rebuild the Air Nation but I can help so many more people than I have before.
I look down at my hands, examing them very closely.
I was given airbending for reason. This must be it. To help rebuild the Air Nation. This is my destiny.
I look back up and gaze right into Tenzin's eyes, a bright smile across my lips.
"Count me in too."
The Air Kids (and Bolin) scream in excitement, jumping up and down in clear excitement. Bumi and Kya laugh at the scene before them and I see Tenzin's eyes are full of joy too.
I can't believe it! Me, an Air Nomad! This...this is awesome! I have to tell my parents about this!
"Do you have a radio transmitter somewhere?" I ask the airbending master, the enthusiasm on my voice present. "If you do, can I use it? I really want to tell my parents about this!"
Tenzin smiles and nods. "Of course you can. It's in my office"
I shoot him a quick thumbs up and rush to Tenzin's office where the transmitter is. After a short moment the connection is finally made and I hear my mother's voice on the other side.
"Hello, who is this?" my mother asks sweetly.
"Hey, mum!" I tell her, happy to hear her voice again. "It's Y/N!"
"Oh, hey Y/N!" my mother exclaims with clear joy. "How are you feeling, dear?"
"I feel great, better than great, actually!"
"Oh? How come?"
"Before I tell you, is dad there? I want to speak to both of you." I tell her. If I'm going to do this, they both have to be there.
"Oh, yes. He is. One second."
I can hear the faint "Honey, Y/N is calling! They want to tell us something!" in the background, my mother clearly moving away to get my father. I chuckle at what I hear, amused by it all. After a short moment, I hear my dad's voice.
"Hey, Y/N. What's up?"
"Hey, dad! I'm glad you're here!"
"Of course. Wouldn't a miss a call from you. Apparently you had something to say?"
"Yes, I do. Now...what I'm about to say is going to be really, really hard to believe."
"Come on, Y/N. After all we've been through I doubt we won't believe what you're going to say." my mother speaks up.
"Your mother is right, Y/N. You can tell us."
They're right. Of course I can tell them, I know they will believe me.
I close my eyes and take a deep, long, breath...and release. I open my eyes and I finally let it out.
"I can airbend."
There is silence for a few short moments. Did I lose connection with them? Or are they that shocked?
"I'm sorry, Y/N. I must have misheard you." my father speaks up, his confusion at his peak. "I thought for a second you said can airbend."
He's sceptical. I can't blame him.
"You didn't mishear." I reassure him with confidence. "I can airbend."
They go dead silent again. This time for much longer.
"W-When did you find out?" my mother asks who sounds...anxious?
"Just now." I tell them, slightly confused by mother's tone. "Bumi's an airbender too, now. I don't know the reason behind it but I'll ask Tenzin or Korra about it later. But, this isn't even the best part. Tenzin offered me to be a part of the Air Nation and I said yes! I'm going to be an Air Nomad! Isn't that great?"
Once again, the other end goes dead silent, far longer than before. Is something wrong?
"You're joking, right?" my father tells me, his tone sounding...serious?
"What? No, of course not." I tell them, my excitement slowly fading away. "In fact, there has been a case of a man getting airbending in Republic City right now. I wouldn't be surprised if some in the South Pole gets it too."
All of a sudden, I hear my mother gasp. Not in surprise...but in fear.
"You're not going to become an Air Nomad." my father declares, his tone stern and sharp.
What?!
"Are you serious?" I tell them, my irritation rising. "Why not?"
"Because you're a part of the Southern Water Tribe." my father immediately responds, who now seems to be getting angry now from his tone. "Not a part of the Air Nation. End of story."
What?! He can't do this! This is my life!
"No, it's not "end of story"!" I tell him, my voice getting louder. "I'm an adult now! This is my life! I got airbending for a reason and that's to help rebuild the Air Nation! I have always been interested in its culture! This is my calling! This is where I should be and-"
"-What about your family?!" my mother, this time, shouts, her voice seeming to be croaky from crying. "What about your tribe?!"
What?! What is going on?!
"That is not what I meant!" I shout back, now finally losing my patience. "Why are you so upset about this?! I can be a part of two nations! This isn't one or the either!"
"It isn't that simple, Y/N!" my dad yells, who is also losing his patience. "You were born in the Southern Water Tribe, you grew up in the Southern Water Tribe, and had practiced Southern Water Tribe traditions. And now you are abandoning your culture for another!"
Abandoning?! Is he for real?!
"I'm not abandoning anyone, dad!" I reply, my anger at its height.
"YES YOU ARE!" my father immediately responds, clearly done with my arguement. "YOU WILL NOT BECOME AN AIR NOMAD OR ELSE!"
I go silent at that. Same with my parents.
Or else?
What...what did he mean by...?
"Or else...what?" I ask him, my anger now replaced with worry.
Neither of my parents respond.
"Or else what?"
Again, no response.
"Or else what?!"
And, finally, my father responds.
"Or else you will no longer be considered a part of this family." my father declares, trying to be stern, but I can hear the heartbreak in his tone.
...
Wh-what?
I can feel my heart pounding, beating faster than ever. My face and palms are sweating, the corner of my eyes beginning to have traces of tears.
He...he's bluffing. He has to be!
"You-You don't mean that." I tell them, trying to cover up the shakiness of my voice. "Two weeks ago you were proud of me for being where I was needed the most, and I'm doing the same right now!"
"This is a completely different situation." my father counters. "You are trying to abandon your tribe, and your mother and I will not tolerate such a betrayal. If you join the Air Nation then, as much as it pains us so, you will not be considered as our own."
Everything begins to blur as my father's words sink in. All I can hear now is my rapidly pounding heart, desperately attempting to break free from my chest. I tighten my hold on the transmitter, my sweat intensifying. I feel nothing and everything at the same time, flooding my senses completely.
They...can't be serious. They can't-
"-Y/N, please!" my mother begs, no longer trying to hide the sadness in her voice nor the sound of her sobbing. "Please don't this! How about you talk to Korra? Maybe she can remove your bending and-"
"-Don't you dare bring Korra into this." I sternly tell her, my anger restored. At the same time, though, I can feel tears moving quickly down my cheeks. "This isn't about her. I'm not going to ask Korra to do that, and I am certainly not going to let you bully and threaten me to not let me live my life!"
They go silent for a moment, my words sinking in for all of us.
"HOW DARE YOU ACCUSE US OF DOING THAT!" my father finally lets out, his voice booming like Vaatu's. "WE ARE DOING WHAT IS BEST FOR YOU!"
They actually think that? They actually think this is helping me?!
"YOU'RE NOT HELPING ME AT ALL!" I unleash, not holding back anymore.
All of us remain silent yet again for almost a minute, the tension so thick that it can easily be sliced in half with a katana.
The silence persists until, finally, my father speaks up.
"We are going to hang up to give you some time to think." my father declares. "The next time we talk, you better tell us you are not joining the Air Nation. If not, don't contact or visit us ever again."
...What?
Before I can speak up or say anything, they immediately hang up. No "Love you!", no "See you later!", nothing. Just nothing but the cold, heartless sound of the connection being terminated. All that is left now is me, sitting alone in the office, my hand still clutched to the radio transmitter which is now shaking.
They actually mean it....
They really mean it...
They...I...
Tears beginning to fall and fall and fall with no sign of stopping.
"Y/N, are you okay?"
Bolin.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, not now.
I can hear footsteps coming closer to the office. At almost light speed I wipe away my tears and put on a fake grin just before the earthbender becomes visible in my vision a second later.
"Yeah, I am. What's up?" I lie, hoping my deception would be enough.
Bolin raises his left eyebrow, his eyes full of concern. "I heard some shouting. Are you okay?"
The tears are threatening to spill, I can just feel them, but I fight it off. I have to. I don't want him seeing me like this.
"Y-Yeah. Of course I am." I tell him though, as soon as the words leave my lips, I can tell they do not match the hurt and sadness in the tone.
Bolin sees through my lie straight away and, after closing the door, proceeds to walk closer. He kneels down to match my level and gazes right into my eyes, full of sympathy in his own. And he lets out two simple words.
"What's wrong?"
And, with those words alone, the dam breaks and I feel streams of tears falling down my face.
Dammit! Dammit!
The earthbender sees the tears and immediately engulfs me into a bone-crushing hug, refusing to let go. After a moment of hesitation I hug him back and bury my face right into his shoulder, the fountains of sadness not stopping.
"Just let it all out, Y/N." Bolin calmly tellms me, his tone gentle. "Just let it all out."
And so I do. I let out all of my anger, frustration, hurt, sadness, and the utter betrayal I am feeling from the conversation with my parents. How could they do this to me? How could they be immediately prepared to cast me aside?! How?!
HOW?!
Finally, after what seemed like hours despite it only probably being a couple minutes, the tears stop. I pull back from the hug and look right into Bolin's face, his features welcoming and kind.
"Thanks, Bolin." I tell him, sending him a weak smile.
The eartbender smiles back. "Anything for a friend. Is it fine if you can tell me what happened?"
I sigh and slowly nod. "My parents don't like that I'm an airbender."
Bolin gasps at my revelation, clearly as shocked as I was in the moment. "What? Why?"
I gaze at the phone for a bit, playing with my hair to distract me. "Because I told them I'm going to be an Air Nomad and they are seeing it as me abandoning my tribe."
"That's stupid!" Bolin lets out, his anger replacing his previous feeling of shock. "You could be a part of two nations!"
"That is exactly what I said." I frustratingly tell him. "But my parents are so stubborn that they refuse to listen."
"Well, too bad for them!" the earthbender says, raising his fist into the air. "Just do it! They can't control your life! And what are they going to do? Cut you out of their lives foreve-"
"-YES!" I shout at the man, causing him to jump back in surprise. "EXACTLY THAT!"
I get right up into his face, my teeth grating together. However, despite my rageful state, I see concern in Bolin's eyes from my reaction...and also fear.
I...I scared him.
I lost control. Dammit.
I take a deep breath and, after a moment, release. I sit back down onto the chair and clench my nasal bone. I look back up at the earthbender, who has now relaxed a bit. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have lashed out at you."
Bolin calms down and walks back to me, a small smile on his face. "It's all right. But...what do you mean by that?"
I sigh heavily and lean back, looking up at the ceiling. "They told me that if I become an Air Nomad then...then I will not be considered as one of their own."
The earthbender gasps at this. "I can't believe it. They always seemed like nice people."
I continue to stare at the ceiling, hoping the dried paint would distract me from my depressing reality. "I know. It was so sudden too. One minute they were acting as usual, so loving and caring, and the next..."
I trail off. I still can't believe how they acted. They haven't done anything like that before.
We sit in silence for a few moments, both of us not knowing what to say. Until, finally, Bolin speaks up again. "So...what are you going to do? Are you still going to be an Air Nomad?"
I rip my attention away from the ceiling and onto the floor, not wanting to engage eye contact with my friend.
I honestly don't know the answer to that question. My heart wants me to join the Air Nation but I'm so terrified of losing my parents, my family. Despite their cold words...I love them so much. They were the ones who witnessed my first steps, they were the ones who helped me calm down when I had a nightmare, they were the ones who helped me when I needed them the most. I...I can't bare the thought of losing them.
Not knowing the answer to the question, I give my friend the truth. "I don't know."
Silence surrounds us yet again, more uncomfortable than last time.
"I'm sorry, Y/N." Bolin tells me, his tone genuine and honest.
I finally look upon my friend's face, his eyes. They are so comforting and welcoming and I'm so grateful I have a friend like Bolin. "It's not your fault." I earnestly tell him. "I'll think of something."
The earthbender hums in acknowledgement and then frowns slightly. "Are you going to tell the others? Are you going to tell Korra?"
Spirits, the others. What are they going to think about this? They're so happy right now because of the new airbenders. Should I tell them?
After a minute of thinking over my answer, I finally respond. "Not yet. Everyone, especially Korra and Tenzin, are so happy about there being new airbenders. The last thing I want is to damper their mood. I'll tell them eventually. For now, I just want this to stay between us, okay?"
Bolin gives me a soft smile in return and proceeds to wrap me in a comforting hug. "Of course."
I hug him back, finding the contact warm. "Thanks, Bolin."
We eventually release each other from the hug but the moment has not been lost. The earthbender's smile grows slightly. "Anytime. Do you want to head out into the city to have some fun? It would be a nice distraction."
My own smile grows as well at Bolin's consideration but, honestly, going out is the last thing on my mind. I just want some quiet. Maybe mediation? I don't know.
"Thanks but, to be honest, I would rather have some alone time right now." I tell him. "If the others ask just tell them I'm meditating or doing something like that. Come and get me if something important happens, okay?"
Despite my rejection at his suggestion, Bolin's smile doesn't falter. "Of course. Take all the time you need."
Bolin gets up from his position and walks to the edge of the door. Before he walks out completely, though, he turns to me. "See you later, Y/N."
"See you later, Bolin." I tell him gently.
Then, finally, he walks out and gently closes the door.
I am alone again.
Alone with questions.
Questions that determine my future.
Questions that I do not yet have answers to.
Do I submit to my parents' demands and not fulfil my desire to becoming an Air Nomad?
Or do I join the Air Nation...and lose my parents forever?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And that's it!
I hope you all enjoyed it! :D
Constructive criticism is always appreciated!
See you all in the next chapter! :D

Muichiro x Male y/n (Chap 1)
Tumblr media
Your mother laid you down on the side of a frozen pond on the mountain, next to a sheltered cave, “I can’t take care of you anymore, even if I do try, you’ll end up dying from abuse. I don’t want you to deal with your father like I have to. A traveller moves throw these parts, him and his family has been traveling in the local area, and he’s the kindest man I ever met. Please God, let my son survive this terrible world he didn’t deserve, and don’t ever show your fathers demon blood to anyone, understood”, she ran away leaving you asleep in the dead of snow. You were her only son, and she wanted you to live, but yet it’s been 16 days since she left, and you haven’t eaten a thing. You were only 2 years old, and you were a crying mess. You sat up tears still flowing. Suddenly you heard footsteps and you looked towards the sound, “Mommy? You came back”, you run to the  direction of the noise to see an unsettling creature. What appeared to be human was crawling towards you. It had 4 long legs, and eyes that were dripping down from it’s skull. It's skin was pale white, and hair was a childish grey. The demon like creature moved slowly towards the baby. The child screamed and ran to the cave trying the escape the beast. The demon jumped at the defenceless child and stroked it’s arm of. Luckily the child was a quick one for his age and just risked his body being chopped in half. The child that you were burst out screaming catching the ears of a demon slayer looking for the demon lower down in the mountain. You ran and ran deeper and deeper into the cave as the demon chased you. You kept on screaming and in time it annoyed the demon more and more, “Stop screaming you loud little brat”, he screamed back at you. But little did he know that was the last thing he said before hearing the words of the demon slayer, “Water breathing, 4th form, STRIKING TIDE”, the demon slayer took a deep breath and slayed the demon in front of you. Blood from the demon reached the floor near you and you started crying like hell. The demon slayer walked up to you, and only then did you realise his appearances. He had very short white hair, and a red mask that covered his face. He was very old and wore an ocean Komodo with white clouds for detail. The presence calmed you a little bit, but it still made you cry. He moved towards you, “What’s you name child?”, he questioned. You looked away and started to sniffle, “It’s (y/n), I forgot my last name… Are you the traveller my mum said will take care of me?”, you asked sadly. The man sighed, “There was a man and his family at the mountain side, but they didn’t make it to this point”, he sympathised. You were confused, “What do you mean?”, you asked.
“That family that was most likely to take care of you has been killed by that demon that almost killed you”, he glanced at your arm, “I’ll take you to the butterfly mansion”, he stated.
“What’s the butterfly mansion?”
“You’ll find out when you get there. And my names Sakonji Urokodaki”
“T-thank you, Urokodaki-san”, you grinned.
He nodded, grabbing your hand gently, “Let’s go young (y/n)”
~3 days later
You arrived at the butterfly mansion and was welcomed by a blind man with black hair, “Hello there young soul, my names Himejima Gyoumei, age 16, known as the sone Hashira. It’s a pleasure to meet you youngling”, he introed softly. He seem nice. (Tokito is 3) You walked up and gave him a hug, “You a nice guy, right? Not like the guy on the mountain?”, you questioned. Gyoumei looked over at Sakonji and started crying, “What happened to this younglings parents? Where they killed by a demon?”, he asked.
“I’m not sure, and I haven’t asked since he’s just a child, but now that you’ve bring it up, I guess we should ask. Hey, Y/n?”
You turn from hugging the bear and look at the elderly man, “Yes Urokodaki-san?”
“What happened to your parents?”
You smiled and jumped with joy not knowing why, “My mummy said she can’t take care of me anymore, and something to do with my daddy, and the badness of this world. And she also said something about my father’s demon blood. But she’ll pick me up soon, I bet”, you said while punching your fist in the air with confidence. Both the grown man looks at the child in shock, “Demon b-blood”, Urokodaki stutters, “But that’s impossible. A demon and a human, not to mention the blood from the two would’ve killed you while you were still in your mothers wound”, Urokodaki-san trembled. You tilted you head and poked your tongue, “I’m alive though (bitch)”
You skipped of happily while you saw loads of adults lining up and talking, but the last thing you remember from that day was being given to the head of the demon slayer core, “Kagawa Ubuyashiki”, and his wife, “Amene”
~10 years later~
You have improved rapidly, learning breathing and your intelligence  was beyond any other random adult. Years you spent greeting knew people and making new friends, most of them dying, but just like your adoptive father, you’ve learnt to feel happiness, and not grief knowing there in a better place, and for this your father had two surprises. You went to your father and decided to eat with him and your mother. After you finished, your father had some news that you weren’t expecting, “Y/n, sit down for a couple of minutes”, y/n was very confused. He sat back down and opened his ears to what his father had to say.
“Y/n, you’ve been in our family for a while and I think of you as one of my own children, but because I do I’ll have to tell you that an arrangement in a marriage will come in the next 3 mouths”, he announced. You were horrified, “Father, I understand my roll, and even though I’m not the next leader of the demon slayer corps, but please understand that I would like to find someone for myself. And I have to believe that I’m not interested in the woman in this world”, you said. Your father laughed, “Dear, I’m already aware of your interested in men, and that’s why I want you to marry one, but only if your willing. I’ve selected 3 men, the next thew mouths you’ll be spending a mouth with each. You’ll come to me after the three mouths and tell me who you think is best suited, but if your don’t believe there for you, then we’ll try some others”, he instructed to you. You nodded, “I understand, is there anything else?”
“Indeed, there is. Your age is 12, and I would like you to be a Hashira, but only if you’re willing”, he asked. This was unusual, he never asked anything of you. He didn’t even ask you for as good of grades as you do now. You bowed till your head was touching the ground, “Father, I know of lots of breathing, so if I was to be a Hashira, what Hashira would I be?”
“Which on do you choose to be?”
“I would…”, you paused thinking of your father and mother from your past, “The Demon Hashira. I know their complete opposites, but I would like to honour my family’s past and designs. I am part demon, and I would not like to hide it anymore. I want to fight demons with the blood demon art I have gained and help people more. So may I ask for you to allow it”, your father smiled kindly, “I completely understand, and I’ll allow you to use that term, Hashira”, the feeling of your label being a Hahira made you shive, but not with fear, but excitement. You lifted your head, “May I leave to train then father”, you asked. He nodded allowing you to leave the dining room with your dishes, and training in mind. You felt happy that you were growing up that your father trusts you with marriage.

Character Analysis of Moon Gang-tae
A really complex character. I know I’m late asf. Let’s get into it.
Honestly, I love how this character was written. I love how Kim Soo-hyun acted out this character. He showed every single emotion he was feeling without having to say a single word. He amazes me every time with his acting. How you can read his character’s emotions. How you sometimes have to really dig and analyse his face to even find the right words to describe how the character feels. He’s so talented.
But anyways, enough fangirling. Gang-tae has/had a love-hate relationship with his mother and brother. Don’t get me wrong, I know for a fact he loves them to the moon and back, but he also shows a little bit of resentment for the two. Understandably so, tbh.
His mother:
-Confessed one night, while she was in a drunken state, that she birthed him to take care of his brother. When I heard her confess that? My heart broke. I cried for a good minute. I can’t imagine hearing that at his age (Not really sure what age it was but really young) and being able to come back from that and forgive her for saying that even though she isn’t really apologetic for what she said because she probably couldn’t remember. I know he was heartbroken because they were hugging when she said that and he let go of her slowly after.
-One day, she punished him (by hitting him on the arm and on his side) for letting his brother go home first without him. On the way home, he was all beaten and bruised up. She yelled at and scolded him as she confessed that she only had him learn martial arts so he could protect his brother. He just stood there and took that beating. I think he felt like he deserved it a little bit. But I also think he was just exhausted of/over getting yelled at and punished because of his brother and being his bodyguard. She was mad at him for not protecting his brother. It is then where he lashed out at his mother, after he’d reached his limit of being punished for something he didn’t want or ask to do. He told his mother how he truly felt and, instead of sympathising with her son in that moment, asked him how he could say something like that.
-I completely understand that having an autistic child means needing to pay extra attention to that child. But that doesn’t mean that neglecting the emotional and physical needs of your other is right. Much less birthing one for the sole purpose of taking care of that child. That is wrong. I’m disgusted with the way she can’t control herself and her drinking (I know in that scene she was drinking for the ceremony of her husband but she got black-out drunk). Again, I know times get really f*cking hard and she might need just one more drink but c’mon. I’m disgusted that she couldn’t even acknowledge that Gang-tae is a human being with emotions and needs too. And I know that it’s hard having to manage both but what she did was just straight up wrong. If that’s what you birthed Gang-tae for, STFU and take that to the grave. Don’t mess up your child even more. I cannot respect her for neglecting and treating Gang-tae so horribly.
-However we are shown a few examples of the motherly love she’d shown Gang-tae and the, like, one time she showed him some sympathy when he was asleep. She understood and sympathised with him that it must have been hard for him too.
-When Gang-tae was on the roof with his best friend, he asked him if he thought his mother feels sorry for and regretted how she treated him. His best friend asked if it would make him feel better. Gang-tae shook his head no, tears beginning to fall. That broke my heart. Joo-ri’s mom came up and asked Gang-tae to understand his mom. To understand that it wouldn’t have been easy to raise two boys as a single mother. Especially one that’s autistic. It was there where I saw two things: 1) He was tired. He was tired of being understanding. He was tired of having to put someone else before him. 2) He understood how hard it must’ve been for his mother now that he’s in her shoes.
Sang-tae (his brother):
-He has some feelings of hatred toward him. Can you blame him? His mother told him that her sole reason for giving birth to him was to protect and take care of his brother. His life is dedicated to his brother.
-We see these feelings of hatred when he contemplates on saving his brother from drowning. In that moment, he thought about what life would be like if he didn’t have the responsibility of looking after someone else and finally being able to think about himself. He thinks about how all those years of responsibility for someone else can go away if he just waited a little longer. If he let it happen. But it was then that we were shown that he’s still human. He’s still an emotional being. He still understands the concept of love and family. He knew he wouldn’t be able to do that and then live with that because he loves his brother. Even if his life is made harder because of him.
- Over time, he grew to love him so much more, so much so that he wanted to protect him. Protect him, even if it was at the cost of his own self. He hated himself for hating his brother and even seeing him as difficult at times. But what’s important is that he always brushed it off and understood.
-We see the true shared love between the brothers whenever Gang-tae tried his hardest to fake a smile that Sang-tae would hopefully recognize to assure him he wasn’t upset or angry or annoyed with him to protect his feelings. We also see it when Sang-tae saw Gang-tae’s true smile in his sleep. When he was able to truly recognize his true smile.
-He grew to love him so much, he was hesitant to let him go and live his own life without his brother under his protection. Sang-tae knew his brother didn’t want to let him go, so he reminded him: Sang-tae belongs to Sang-tae.Gang-tae belongs to Gang-tae. It was so beautiful to watch. Sang-tae heading on his own journey. Gang-tae realising it was time to live his own life and let his brother go.
-From a young age he had to grow up quickly and take responsibility of a child because of their mother’s untimely demise.  For all his life, he’s had to suck up his pride, put his feelings away, neglect himself and put someone else before him. But in the end, Gang-tae was finally able to do things he wasn’t able to before. Travel. Date. Just live his own life.
Gosh, I love this series.
If you enjoyed, please leave a like and reblog <3

There is one thing and perhaps the only thing that knows you and by that far better than anyone and anything: Computers. But how good are they and how exactly have they affected on lives? Adam Curtis, the film-maker of this documentary, agrees with the notion that computers have ‘distorted and simplified view of the world around us’. In his docu-series he explores how we are longer able to articulate clearly for ourselves as we have come to see everything around us through the eyes of a computer.

IBO reference notes on . . . a perfect villain
Spoilers for everything, especially season 2.
This is an Iok Kujan appreciation post. No, not like that. Obviously, Iok is a spectacular prat whose obliviousness, bull-headedness and all-round stupidity results in multiple catastrophes. It'd stretch a point to say he's responsible for everything bad in the series but for Tekkadan specifically, it would have improved things immeasurably if Hashmal had swatted Iok the moment it woke up.
However, as I noted in one of my previous posts, Iok is the best written character in the show and I don't mean that (entirely) as a joke. I genuinely think he is a masterclass in creating a hatable antagonist.
We should start with who Iok is within that story, or rather what. Iok is heir to one of the Seven Star families making up Gjallarhorn's ruling council. He is part of an aristocracy and specifically, an aristocracy responsible for colonial administration. Being English, my mind immediately goes to the British Empire, sending various chinless wonders out to make everyone's lives miserable. It seems this tradition is alive and well three centuries post-Calamity.
Most of the named Gjallarhorn characters are scions of the ruling families who hold positions of authority. McGillis Fareed and Gaelio Bauduin are inspectors. Carta Issue leads one fleet. Iok is a commander within another. To my mind, it's clear they've all been promoted based on bloodline, not merit. McGillis is perhaps the only one genuinely qualified for his position, and even he gets rocketed up to Brigadier General by dint of taking over as head of his family. Gaelio, meanwhile, though more than a pretty face, doesn't seem temperamentally suited to his job: he's bored and incurious without McGillis' prompting, and overly reliant on brute force in combat. His big strength is he learns to be better, eventually. But then there's Carta who . . .
Well, let's dig into this because Carta is most obviously similar to Iok. The head of a very powerful family, placed under the guardianship of another member of the Seven Stars, with a host of dedicated followers propping up some seriously questionable leadership choices, she ultimately meets an ignoble fate after causing our protagonists heartbreak. It's another of those parallels I talked about last time, and like those, the two arcs have different flavours. You see, we're given room to empathise and even sympathise with Carta. She genuinely is one of McGillis' oldest friends, by dint of urging him towards self-worth, something nobody else had ever done before. McGillis sacrificing her for his greater good has impact precisely because there are glimpses of decency and humanity behind Carta's pomposity and self-importance.
Oh, she absolutely is pompous and self-important. A martinet, clinging to rigid social and military rules without flexibility, she has no qualms over fighting and killing literal children. She's not a good person. But maybe she could have been. She has an actual sense of honour and holds to it stubbornly. She is capable of caring about others and once upon a time, told etiquette to go screw itself for the sake of befriending someone interesting. And I think it's crucial to note she's actually reasonably competent, in spite of her manner. She adapts to Tekkadan's tactics in orbit, promptly dealing with the nano-mirror chaff, and later blind-sides them with an orbital drop. Her main failing is that she doesn't treat combat as a fight for survival but a duel, to be fought accordingly. She simply isn't prepared for the more desperate and utilitarian tactics ranged against her.
The reason this is important is because Iok, by contrast, is profoundly incompetent. It is noted over and over again, by multiple characters in the show, that he doesn't know what he's doing. Carta sticks too rigidly to the rulebook; it's unclear if Iok has even read it. One gets the impression he glanced at it once, got bored within three pages, and blundered on regardless because no one has the authority to fire him.
Rightly or wrongly, one of the best ways to strip the audience's sympathy for a character is to make them incompetent. Not unskilled or dumb – there are plenty of ways to play those as endearing. But actual incompetence, encompassing a lack of awareness over being so, is another matter. Seeing someone fail repeatedly without acknowledgement or effort to improve creates the antitheses of that sweet feeling of watching someone excelling at their job. It's frustrating. It's annoying. It makes you glad to see the back of the character.
It can also be funny. Absent sympathy, it's easy to laugh at dingbats who keep messing up. Innumerable shows find humour in this very ancient joke. Iron-Blooded Orphans, however, plays Iok's incompetence deadly straight. The man is a disaster for friend and foe alike: his failures come with a butcher's bill and a body count. Mikazuki's growing paralysis, Naze, Amida and the Turbines, Iok's own soldiers – time and again we are shown the bloody fallout of Iok's blundering.
And time and again, we see him escape without meaningful consequence. Because in a story full of characters walking a razor thin line between success and failure, with their very survival at stake, Iok has the luxury of insulation from harm.
That's the key part. Because Iok is far from the only character to be naïve about how and why things work the way they do. He's definitely not the only one who needs basic fundamentals explained to him in simple terms (*cough* Orga *cough* Kudelia *cough* Shino *cough* – you get the point). But unlike the rest, he can get away with it. He was born into a family with power and connections, he's coddled by a system geared to the advantage of people like him, and he has the reflected glow of his father's legacy granting him supporters who hope he might grow up to be similarly great. This is not someone capable of blowing everything on an ill-advised quest for revenge. The most he suffers for that is being sent to his room. The man nearly causes a city to be wiped off the map and carries on regardless, unpunished.
Which would be bad enough in itself. Being a selfish, entitled prick usually is. But Iok's characterisation goes one step further, in that he is written to have the shape of redeeming qualities. He is brave and forthright. He is willing to lead from the front. He seeks to honour those under his command. In someone else, these could lend a semblance of nobility. But Iok? Iok's bravery merely means he doesn't heed warnings of danger. His attempts at leadership invariably backfire and make every situation worse. And rather than listening to his men's requests to get to safety, he invalidates their sacrifice by rushing back to the front to make himself feel better, forcing more comrades into harm's way. Over and over, we are shown how Iok's self-absorption warps every single positive trait he possesses.
Without this, he'd be a twit who keeps falling on his face. With it, his status as a total jackass is elevated to something so unutterably poisonous that being crushed to jam feels like the least he deserves. And all without ever coming into direct contact with the protagonists. Iok is the vapid embodiment of a callous system that places power in the hands of people who wield it without skill, for the pettiest of reasons, all the while truly believing they are the heroes. He doesn't need to actually shoot anybody; he enables destruction from afar, stoking the schemes of opportunists in an effort to soothe a dented ego. He heaps utter misery on Tekkadan and it is only via sheer fluke – and Iok's rush to do something important – that they get any chance to strike back.
I don't want to claim this is deft. But sometimes you don't need to be. Sometimes you need to craft a character so perfectly hatable that them getting away with things becomes actively painful, in order that their fate will be a moment of triumph, snatched amid tragedy.
In a series shot through with beautifully-rendered violence pitched a little too far towards horrific to enjoy without queasiness, Iok Kujan dying horribly brings nothing so much as a sigh of relief. At least in the end, amidst all the remaining injustices, Akihiro was able to deliver much overdue comeuppance to a man who would never have known it otherwise. And it wouldn't have worked nearly so well if Iok hadn't be pitched to be so perfectly repellent.

Transformers: Earthspark is... somethin’ all right.
Major spoilers below.
So, in this series, the war between the Autobots and Decepticons is already over, and Megatron has started to work with Optimus to keep the peace.
...except they both work for a human organisation called ‘Ghost’ which hunts down and imprisons the remaining Decepticons. And then just leaves them imprisoned, with the implication being that it will be permanent.
Megatron is the only one who sees issue with this. Optimus Prime, who has literally said the words “Freedom is the right of all sentient beings” is disturbing pro-incarceration here. It is not hard to sympathise more with Megatron and the remaining Decepticons rather than the main cast. And it makes it enjoyable every time Optimus takes a hit in combat, which is often (him and Megatron are not portrayed as nearly as martially superior to other bots as they usually are).
And so is the show. Every time Megatron brings up an pretty-much-every-time valid complaint about this setup, he’ll be ‘proven wrong’ by episode’s end. And then will still have these concerns in the next episode too, because nothing has changed.
The human ‘Ghost’ characters are completely unsympathetic, yet are always portrayed as ultimately the good guys. Not to mention the blatant military worship the show has going on.
~
On the human main character side, things don’t get much better. In the first episode, Robbie (Malto family eldest child) brings up some of his own valid concerns (never talked to about it, unable to stay in contact with the friends he’s losing, having to give up his old social network without warning and adjust on the fly) about being moved away from Philadelphia to a rural community. These concerns are also never solved, as the conversation pretty much ends on a "listen to your parents as they’re always right” note.
The entire show runs on a very authoritarian vibe. It’s jarringly noticeable.
~
One good part of the show is Kathleen Khavari as Twitch, and Zeno Robinson as Thrash, two newly born Transformers. They are delightful playing as robotic children siblings, and one of the few high points outside of Rory McCann’s amazing casting as Megatron.
Thrash is overall more sensitive than Twitch, but Twitch tends to jump to greater emotional extremes (both good and bad). They play off each other really well, and are very adorable. I’m happy to see more of them, and less of Optimus (and definitely less fo Bumblebee - really sick of Bumblebee as the face of Transformers this millenium. He’s really uninteresting).
~
I’d say for season 2, Megatron needs to break away from Ghost and Optimus, and start helping the Decepticons his way, and have said way be portrayed as a valid approach and not just something to present as misguided. Optimus needs to be wrong a lot more often. Bumblebee just needs to f¥ck off, and Twitch and Thrash need more time to be siblings, especially now that three more of their kind have appeared.

SCP 096 - Shy Guy (New Character)
Main Masterlist | SCP Scenarios Masterlist | My Works Masterlist | Rules | Request | Socials | My Original Post

First Encounter
You've met 096, aka Shy Guy, when you were doing a test with him. You went into his cell and some new researchers thought it was funny to make you look at his face. You were sympathetic and intelligent, so you didn't. That annoyed one of the new researchers which resulted in him coming in and looked at the SCP's face by himself. This of course resulted in his death and the other researchers were terrified and made a run for it which then ended up getting them killed. 096 came back and glanced at you then left you alone. Some staff members came in ti retrieve you and you were being interrogated for the incident with proof of CCTV footage. You were constantly seeing 096 ever since.
Your Feelings for Him
Most would say 096 were quiet and others would say he's mute. However, in your case, he would speak to you quietly and calmly while nobody was there to watch you both. He's rather shy and had a hard time opening up so he started to get a bit flustered when someone would visit him and chat with him. 096 unintentionally made a bold move and leaned closer which flustered you but you decided to stay in that position rather than move away or closer. As bad luck has it, a staff member came in to retrieve you as your time was up.
His Confession
You decided to visit 096 in your lunch break and noticed that he looked rather depressed than usual. You've asked everyone if he was ok but they all replied that they weren't too sure and that you should go and visit him since he wouldn't harm you. Later that day, you decided to visit 096 and he didn't respond much to your dismay. You tried to cheer him up but didn't do you just say there next to him. 096 then opened up about him being self conscious because he thinks that you wouldn't like him. You quickly disagree and asked him out.
Date
Since 096 would basically attack anyone who sees his face, 98% of your dates would be in his cell with 1.5% of being in your room and 0.5% being outside which was extremely rare and only happens during a test with another SCP. 096 wouldn't be into PDA very much, especially when he knows that you're both being watched, so whenever you snuggle up on him, he'd hesitantly hold you or cuddle you into him. He'd be the big spoon most of the time because of how tall he is but he'd be the small spoon on occasions when he feels down. 096 would be extremely soft with you and would never try to hurt you.
When he's jealous
Now, whenever 096 is jealous, he'd hide himself from everyone and cry. He thinks that you've found someone who can actually spend time with you without being judged heavily and a part of him is happy about that. However, another part of him would never want to let you go so at times, he'd probably hunt down the dude he's jealous off and nobody will hear from him again. If you ever see a depressed Jealous!096, go and hug him and assure him that you'll never leave him for another person ever. If you witness a violent Jealous!096, then you'd have to try to hold him back. He'd listen to you but that wouldn't stop him from trying to kill the dude.
When there's a containment breach
There's a small chance of 096 causing a breach unless someone's looking at his face, with the exception of you of course. And in this case, another SCP caused the breach because of a certain dumb boi has decided to go against the rules of the foundation which in turn angered an SCP. 096 overheard someone talking about how you were there at the scene of the breach which almost gave him a heart attack. 096 ran faster than he normally does and panic searches for you. Luckily for you both, he found you alive and you found him looking all worried. He gave you a bear hug and took you back to his cell as you both just chilled. The researchers were just minding their own business and cleaned up all the mess all the whole saw you just chilling. They had to get you out to help them with something much to your dismay.
Yandere!SCP 096
106 being a Yandere is rather terrifying and sad. Whenever he des you with anyone, he'd become sad!106, but if he sees you interacting with anyone for too long, he'd become angrier and take you into his cell and tie you up. After this, he'd hunt down whoever you were talking to and comes back to weep. Once he's done weeping, he'd come and checkup on you and feed you if you're hungry. If you weren't hungry you'll be force fed and nobody wants that. In some cases, you'd have to assure him that you still love him just so he would untie the ropes and let you out for a bit. The researchers have noticed this behaviour in him but never acting upon it even if they wanted to because they know the consequences by doing so.
How he reacts to his angry!S/O
You weren't usually seen as an angry person and that everyone was correct. That one time you were mad was when someone talked terribly about your man, 096. This Karen of a scientist went around the whole facility and decided to shout out her opinion on 096 and how you should’ve dated someone who was more ‘normal’ like another human being, preferably a smart and rich person who you could rely on and never work again. This of course did upset 096 to which he reflected on whether he should let you go or hold onto you where as you assured him you’d never leave him and went full on rampage and made it a mission for you to hunt down this Karen and made sure she never showed up again.
When someone tries to steal you away
096 would hunt down and kill anyone who kidnapped you as soon as he overheard someone talking about you arriving overly late which was unusual for someone who’s as organised and good with time management as you. He’d even kill anyone who got in his was and for once the researchers couldn’t agree and sympathise with him more. As soon as they got a hold of 096’s location, they’ve decided to check up on you to which 096 was rather protective and prevented that from happening. You had to pry 096 off from you and went to the medical area and told them what happened. You mentioned the fact that this guy had mistaken you for his child and dragged you out of the facility and by the time he had realised, 096 was there to rip him apart.

Does Gale love Mystra?
So far in EA, we have been shown that this is complicated to answer: human love is complex as well as the delirious lore of Forgotten Realms.
Disclaimer Game Version: All these analyses were written up to the game version v4.1.104.3536 (Early access). As long as new content is added, and as long as I have free time for that, I will try to keep updating this information. Written in June 2021.
The number between brackets [] represents the topic-block related to (this post), which gathers as much evidence as I could get.
The narrative is clear until the party scene which, as I stated many times across these posts, it's a scene that feels a bit inconsistent for me (reasonable since it's EA). But if we follow what the game explicitly shows us, we know that if we send Gale to sleep at the beginning of the Weave scene in which he is watching the incantation with the shape of Mystra, he will say:
Gale: Long days, yes. And long, lonesome nights.
If Tav knows that the incantation on his palm is Mystra, Gale will explain:
Tav: [insight] You don't have that look on your face when you're looking at “no one” / There's more to it than that. The figure I saw: she means something to you. Gale: [...] I can’t quite describe it, the need I sometimes feel to see her – to draw the filaments of fantasy into existence. [...]
Dev's notes: Passionate. [...] He was recalling Mystra as a lover, but doesn’t say that out loud. [...] Narrator: The Weave evaporates, and as it does so, you realise the night feels suddenly cold and lonesome.
This allows us to infer that, at this moment, Gale is feeling alone and probably very anxious with the oppressing feeling of the "orb" in his chest. The tadpole only increased the number of problems he has, so he resorts to seeing Mystra melancholically. We notice later in the Weave Scene that not having Mystra around increases this feeling of loneliness. The whole scene seems to give us the idea that he still loves her. There is yearning and loneliness in his current situation.
After a moment of passionate description of magic, Gale invites Tav to experience the Weave. The Weave has a particular effect on Gale: "The moment feels intimate. You realise the Weave is making you one." Considering how Gale was feeling while conjuring the incantation, this moment touched him deeply (the narrator implies that this feeling is mutual).
If Tav expresses their romantic interests, Gale will be surprised:
Gale: I.. I didn’t think.. Narrator: You perceive quick-fire gusts of embarrassment, trepidation, and finally.. elation Gale: Sorry, I wasn’t expecting… But it is a pleasant image to be sure! Most pleasant, in fact. Most welcome. Dev's notes: Warm, with real affection.
The narrator is giving us meta-knowledge, we can trust in what she says, and we can see that the situation was truly shocking for Gale. These emotional stages described here made me suspect that Gale is a character who has focused for too long on healing his condition, ignoring any chance for romance. His surprise here may confirm that, in my opinion. He feels embarrassment, a feeling that one can interpret as a sign of the surprise of being thrown into a situation he had not seen beforehand (the death protocol and Gale’s conversations show us that he is a character that thinks ahead). It follows trepidation: fear or anxiety about something that he is going to do or experience. Gale is scared of the possibility. Maybe because he is thinking in the danger he is, maybe because he was already burnt by Mystra's attention and having someone else's attention now makes him feel a bit anxious. And then, the final resolution of the process: elation, which is a feeling of great happiness and excitement about something that has happened. Gale is suddenly excited by the possibility. Something he will be thinking about, many times, for the rest of the EA.
Tav: So what did you think about what I pictured when we were connected by the Weave? Gale: Oh, I was surprised. But pleasantly so, just like I said. Amid the madness that has befallen us, it seems almost out of place to think of a kiss/ of a romantic walk. And yet... now more than ever, it's important to recall what makes us human. [if Tav is not human] Well- you know what I mean. A stolen glance- that sudden heartbeat... Sometimes the little things are worth more than kingdoms. They promise things to come.
So romance was not something he had even considered until the opportunity arose (this is why he won't pursue a Tav who didn't show romantic interest towards him). I think that, since he is a character always living on the edge of death, he will take this opportunity to feel “human again”: after all, he follows the concept of "living life to the fullest".
During the Loss (see the post of the "Loss Scene"), we know that losing Mystra was a big blow for him. He regrets his decisions of the past in this scene, and it reinforced the idea that he is the only one to blame for Mystra's loss. There is a yearning for the lost Chosen powers, but Gale's context in the majority of his scenes seem to reinforce the idea that he sought power not as a means, but as a goal itself to be closer to Mystra and Magic. Since we are talking about a wizard, his passion lies in magic itself, in being one with the Weave/Magic/Mystra. A Chosen of Mystra is so entangled with the Weave and magic that when they die, they are part of the Weave itself. This is the level of passion that Gale has for Magic, and since Magic can only be performed by most mortals via Weave, and the Weave is Mystra, the whole three concepts are, in fact, one; and it makes it very difficult from a lore point of view to separate them.
Tav: There's something I don't understand. If Mystra abandoned you, how can you still cast magic? Gale: The Weave is still here, all around us – inside of us too. As long as the goddess lives, magic is a tangible thing for those who know how to touch. I've studied magic for many years, and in as many ways I am still a more than capable wizard. It's just that I'm no longer able to perform those feats even arch wizards would marvel at. To have one hand on the pulse of divinity. You have to remember that the Weave is a living thing, both the embodiment and the extension of Mystra herself. She can give and she can take away. I'm afraid I'm still very much on her naughty list. Consider yourself lucky you're not.
I personally think Gale will never stop being devoted to Mystra (and won't stop loving her in many ways), because his passion for magic and knowledge is his own life, and Mystra IS those things. He loves magic for the sake of it. So losing this unique contact with magic itself that only Chosen of Mystra have was a terrible punishment for him. His abandonment issues are not just the result of a “guy being left by a girl”. They have an extra complexity because of the nature of Magic in this world and how its deity behaves with her chosen. Gale was not only abandoned by Mystra, but was also removed of a good amount of his capacity to perform magic. If magic “is his life”, the abandonment removed a part of his life away. I think some people miss this point, because, once more, it's related to Forgotten Realm lore and not Dragon Age. Many of these people keep constantly comparing this situation with Dragon Age, which has nothing to do with it. Dragon Age has no wizards, their relationship with Magic is natural, it’s sorcerer-like if we want to compare it, and the relationship with their deities (mostly absent, silent ones) are nothing alike the ones in Forgotten Realm. The context is key, as I repeated several times in these posts and in the one about "Context, persuasion, and manipulation".
Tav: I don't know what to make of what you've told me, but I sympathise. Gale: Thank you. [no romantic weave] I want you to know that you’re a good friend. [romantic weave] I often think of that moment we shared together – one under the Weave. I hope you think about it too. /I'm glad to know you think about it too.
Narrator: You sense a moment of unspoken affection. You want to know where it may lead. Gale: I consider myself very lucky to have found you Tav: I think perhaps we could be more than friends Gale: Perhaps.
Tav: You said you think about the moment we shared under the weave. Do you think about it often? Gale: Do you? 1-2-Tav: Yes / From time to time. Gale: So do I. 3- Tav: Not really. Gale: And yet you ask. I do, as a matter of fact.
Gale: You see. I'm not a big believer in fate, but I do believe in serendipity. Life is a tempest of events that sometimes we brace against and sometimes embrace. You're one such event that one day soon perhaps I'd like to embrace.
So after sharing this regret during the Loss scene, Gale will show affection if Tav remains friendly during the Weave (but Gale will never directly engage it, he is waiting for Tav to give the first step; understandable if we consider he also has a dangerous bomb in his chest, so he may be torn between wanting to, but knowing he should not to). If there is no interest in pursuing romance, he will show a gesture of gratitude for being a good friend during that night of regrets.
If pursuing the romance, we can interpret that Gale, at this point, even though he is still struggling with all the emotions that Mystra inspires, wants to experience something more “human”, a romance with a mortal. We know for sure that Gale is getting interested, slowly, while thinking about it, since in each of the following scenes he will ask (or Tav will ask) about that “moment in the Weave”. He has been thinking about it for many nights, and he is “embracing” the idea.
If Gale is treated with judgement (despite not knowing his whole story) or allowing him to keep the secret of what or who he lost, we will obtain lines likes:
Gale: Good. Goodnight. And thank you for your patient understanding. // And try not to think too poorly of me. A cat can look at a king. A wizard can look at a goddess.
Tav: Another fool pays for his arrogance. A tale as old as time. Gale: Arrogance? Ambition, rather. And ambition is a fine thing – until suddenly it no longer is. Then again, if that is how you judge me, there’s little I can do to change your mind. But know that I have this ambition still. First to save myself, and after that, the licence to dream. (Gale Disapproval)
We could interpret these lines as the only ones so far that may suggest that Gale is still wanting something from the goddess. We know due to the tadpole dreams that Gale’s desire is Mystra. On the comments of the second tadpole dream we know more details about his major desire: it is not just Mystra, but her forgiveness.
Tav: Gale, who is the apparition in your dreams? Gale: She's... It doesn't matter. I just know her to be unreal. Tav: What's impossible about what you're been shown? Gale: Forgiveness Tav: Gale, who is the apparition in your dreams? Gale: It's indeed Mystra I see. And yet it cannot be her. There was a time when I would have believed - but no longer. I told you that I lost her. Lost her favour and lost so many of the powers I took for granted. What magic I can still weave is met only with undercurrents of disappointing silence. Mystra has not changed her mind about me. That's how I know our dreams are delusions.
I think this scene shows the difference between a standard desire for power as a means, and power for the sake of power itself (since this power allows Gale to be one with the Weave). The scene is ambiguous enough to see it as Gale wanting to return to Mystra’s side as well as remaining as an ardent devotee of her (because she is magic herself). I keep repeating that these scenes show that Gale’s most important thing in his life is Magic, which is Mystra: the extension and the embodiment of magic. So his desire for her seems impossible to be extinguished completely. In previous scenes we saw that he certainly had thought through the idea of loving her more like a devotee than a lover, but certainly the weight of being his first love will remain, especially since she is deeply related to magic itself.
During the Party Scene we find some information about his feelings for Mystra.
I personally ponder the book of Amn’s description as very important because, from a narrative point of view, it's a lot of lines/content that, if they were not important, tend to be removed from the script. If they are there, they are meant to be interpreted. For this reason those lines mean to me that Gale has finally embraced the idea of having something important with a mortal. In my post of the "Party Scene" I go into details, but here I will stick to the interpretation related to Mystra: all what Gale numerates in that book are things that he could not access to with a Goddess. Curiously, part of those descriptions are things that make humans human, so I personally think it reinforces Gale's intention in heading into this romance with the eagerness of finding some shelter (never forget the “orb” has a constant oppressing effect in him, increasing his anxiety and fears) and to experience (maybe for the first time) the love of a mortal.
So, for some assumptions made in the post of the "Party Scene", we suspect that Gale needs to share a night to feel confident enough to speak the details of his “orb” condition. Since he wants this relationship to be strong (after all, he implied commitment during the description of the book) he speaks about the true origin of the “orb” immediately after that night, starting with Mystra (which is, after all, the true origin of his folly). Depending on the version that Tav picks, we have extra information provided by Gale about his emotions for the Goddess:
Tav: What did Mystra’s attention feel like? Gale: Love. Perhaps it was not quite love, but you see, the wizard was but a very young man. It was most certainly love to him. [...] One day all too soon, the whispers stopped. The goddess spurned the mortal. [...] and the wizard was left behind heartbroken. Tav: I hate to say it, but he really could have seen this coming Gale: He was blinded by love. Good stories are rife with lovers’ follies after all.
[Short Version] Gale: Before long Mystra tired of me. What was I after all but a mortal plaything in sacred hands? You have to realise I was heartbroken. I was a young man, she was my first love. I thought it would last forever. I vowed to win her back.
[after explaining the mistake of the “orb”] Gale: It is this folly that led Mystra to abandon me completely. I can only hope you won’t abandon me as well. After all we’ve been through.. After the night we spent together. Surely we can brave even this side by side
Gale is giving a very detailed context about his love for Mystra: she was his first love, and the first love tends to have a special weight in a person's life and their memories. That doesn't mean the person has become unable to build more relationships for the rest of their life. If we add the fact that he was very young when all this happened (more details in the Post "Gale Hypotheses- Part 1") we find him under two effects: the impression of the first love and the naivety of the youth. Both elements made him believe it was a love that was going to last forever. With a Goddess, no less.
Besides, Gale expresses this, highlighting his naivety and foolishness: he is aware of how silly he was back then, and how impossible it could be for a mortal to keep the love of a goddess. He is a pragmatic and realistic character, after all. He recognizes in the end that he was just a mortal plaything for her.
I think these pieces of information give us a very clear context of his emotional state: he is still nostalgic for Mystra because of all the reasons I enumerated above; she is also more than just a woman, she is Magic itself. But he is aware that those emotions were the consequence of a very naïve and young self that has awakened by the burden of his own mistakes. There is also a reinforcement of “forever”, which recalls the concept of commitment that Gale pursues so much in his romance: he is not there just for the sex “intimacy”, he is there for serious commitment, maybe because he doesn't want to experience another abandonment. After all, we are talking about a character with a profile that shows abandonment issues (see the post of "Gale Hypotheses- Part 1", section: "Abandonment Issues")
[If rejected] Tav: No. This is too large a betrayal. GALE: I see. I am sorry. I am sorry that it had to come to this. All that’s left to say is farewell. Dev’s notes: hurt but understanding Gale: Farewell. (Leaves) Dev’s notes: A slight hesitation, hurt but understanding. He makes a polite little bow, then we see him walk away.
[If accepted] Gale: I don’t know what I did to deserve the magic that you do.
Despite being terribly cheesy, this last line shows that Gale was more than convinced that Tav would abandon him because he doesn’t deserve Tav. This is why he doesn't put up much fight if Tav chooses to tell him to leave. He will try to make Tav listen to his story, and once it's done, the verdict will fall and he will accept it. He learnt his lesson with Mystra. This line also shows how everything important around Gale is or has to be worded with magic, even a silly metaphor like this is related with the word “magic”: Tav's acceptance is like magic. For him, as important and good as magic itself.
As if that were not enough, after the scene there is a comment in which Gale will reinforce his gratitude for Tav's acceptance:
Tav: If you ever feel the netherese magic overtaking you, what will you do? Gale: If it should ever come to that... if I ever know I am no longer able to stop it... I will do anything I can to ensure no one but me pays for my mistakes. I will find the remotest place on the surface of Faerûn, or perhaps far below in the depths of the Underdark. I will await that death alone. [*] I promise I will not betray your trust... You kept me by your side despite the menace that I am. If worst comes to worst, I will be gone long before the curtain falls.  [*] If romanced, Gale will say here "I cherish you."
Which makes me suspect that Gale can disappear at any moment (in full game) if for some game mechanics we are unable to get magical artefacts but the deal with Raphael did not happen (if that’s even possible). But that's just me speculating. Nothing in EA seems to suggest this. What i's clear is that acceptance—that strong concept in the book he put so much emphasis on—is really important to him, so he shows gratitude for that: he promises to protect Tav (and many innocents) from his own mistake. He also says pretty soon an equivalent of “I love you”, in a more formal/meaningful way: “to cherish” is not just to love, but to care/protect as well.
Finally, in case someone lost those hints, or maybe as a consequence of this unpolished scene, we have a direct question with a direct answer:
Tav: Gale, are you still in love with Mystra? Gale: I’ll be honest with you; I don’t know. She is my muse still, the embodiment of magic, but the embodiment of love? Only if we ever meet again will I know
Gale simply says what we have been inferring so far with all the previous information: Gale reinforces the idea that he will remain as a strong, loving devotee of Mystra, because she is magic. I personally don't even consider it possible to remove that love from him. He may not be a cleric, but he loves his deity as one. But he also learnt his lesson that loving gods has its own dire consequences for mortals. He is very aware of it during the discussion about Karsus:
Tav: Nothing good ever comes from mortals wanting to be gods.
Gale: Loving them has its side effects as well. Now, so many centuries later, I tried to follow in the footsteps of Karsus, not to destroy Mystra, but to prove my love for her. It tried to control only a fraction of the magic that was unleashed that fateful day. I merely sought to return one tiny diamond to an imperfect crown. Gale's Folly one might call it. History. Repetition. It's the way things go.
Once more, there is no scene where Gale doesn't reinforce that what he did was a mistake, a foolish action, a Folly.
Finally, if talking about a previous lover immediately after awakening with a new one was of poor taste, Gale acknowledges this, giving an honest apology:
Gale: Before we go on though, do first let me apologise. To share such a night with you only to tell you of a previous lover the next morning... It wasn't the most gentleman-like behaviour. But I had to finally tell you. Silence would have been far worse behaviour still. Nevertheless, I am sorry.
He accepts any rude response or lash-out from Tav without approval penalties. This is an interesting meta-knowledge that speaks about owning up to his mistakes. Unlike the Loss scene, where rude responses made Gale disapprove because Tav was judging him without knowing the whole story [16], in this scene he doesn’t. Now Tav has the whole picture, and he accepts whatever reaction Tav shows. Of course he will approve a forgiving Tav, since Gale is a character very related to forgiveness [12, 12b].
Conclusion:
So, answering the question that gives title to this section: yes. In my opinion, Gale loves Mystra. But it’s not a white-and-black love; it has the complexity of human love mixed with this crazy lore of deities in Forgotten Realms. I believe Mystra will always be part of Gale's life, because the Weave and magic are his life, and she is both. He will always love her as a devotee, even though he now understands the mistakes of his young self and seems more aware of how naive he was when he was a “very young man”. The comments on the second tadpole dreams explicitly show that what Gale wants the most is Mystra’s forgiveness, but at the same time, he knows that he does not deserve it. And this raw realistic view of himself is what makes him understand that those dreams are illusions. During the party scene he is uncertain about his emotions, but still he emphasises that there is a big chance for him to not see Mystra as the embodiment of love any more but reinforces that she will always be the embodiment of magic to him (a very important concept in his character design).
Whether Gale is romanced or not, I don't see a difference in the information he shares on this matter in EA.

Devil Judge - Episode 5 (i’m not okay)
Right! So review timeeeee this is a long one lol
I love the opening. Facts
Tumblr media
This man clearly carries a lot of burden but he loves his brother so much.
Watching the first part made me wonder if they are trying to make the viewers think if he really killed his brother and is guilty, hence the nightmares of his dead brother standing in the middle of his room, or is it because he feels guilty that he was only able to save Elijah and himself… either way they kinda show us that there is guilt somewhere in him.
When Elijah comes to his room she says about him not waking up like that before, could mean that Ga On’s presence is worsening his guilty conscious, or from my perspective, i just think that 10 years worth of forcibly trampled down trauma is threatening to explode.
Devil judge or not, no one can control that amount of severe trauma for long.
Next point! Kim Ga On is so sweet with a kind heart, he initially joined the court to spy on Yohan but just based on him clawing open unhealed wounds, he feels so deeply for Yohan to the point he is willing to quit the bench just so Yohan doesn’t have to look at him and see his brother’s face every time.
He tries to relate to Yohan on an emotional level that they both feel due to losing their loved ones. But a few things that I noticed is that when Yohan says,
“I certainly don’t want to hear that from someone that looks like him”
Again, being called the devil judge or not, but having someone who shares the same face as his brother accusing him of killing the said brother has to hurt deep down.
2. “I wonder how much you’ve discovered”
To me, i think that Yohan knew from the beginning that Ga On was looking into him, and yet he has Ga On in a place where Bambi himself admits to it.
3. “I don’t remember asking you to understand me”
I feel like he is intentionally pretending to push Ga On away because he knows that Bambi will do the exact opposite. It is literally in Ga On’s blood to always try and sympathise with anyone who has any sort of emotional baggage. He knows he can lure Ga On more towards him if he pushed the right buttons.
One part that stuck to me the most is when Ga On says
“hunters mask their scent completely, until the time is right”
Could it be foreshadowing?
It could hint towards him fooling Ga On to believing him until it is too late for Bambi to realise because well, Ga On falls for any heartbreaking story.
But at the same time it is also similar to the way Yohan is so close with the rich socialites to win their trust until the time is right for him to finally reveal that he is in fact a hunter and they’ve been his prey all along.
When Ga On leaves Yohan says that “it’s weird because I’ve never experienced that before”
That, being another human being connecting to him on such a deep emotional level and that’s something he hasn’t felt for almost ten years.
The way he talks about Ga On relating to him with an expression of awe makes me think that it could also be a fact as to why Yohan has this obsession with Ga On.
The minister’s interview was a clever way to show the people that despite being a mother she is a person who has her duty towards the country as a priority but also wanting to make the public question Yohan’s morals.
Please look at his fond little smile,
Tumblr media
it’s a genuine reaction to Ga On tricking him into eating proper food by mentioning wrinkles and his age 💀 but also, signs to say that the little annoying pest is growing on him.
The scene with Ga On and Soo Hyun, they talk about the fire and there’s one line that Soo hyun says,
“The list of attendees to the ceremony was covered up, that’s not something Kang Yohan could’ve done 10 years ago. That takes controlling the press and prosecution”
A clear indication that someone who held power over both media and the prosecution was involved in the accident.
Everything Ga On has seen so far after he joined the live show has terrorised him so much but he is still worried about Soo Hyun because he has seen things that she hasn’t.. even when she’s a cop.. even when the reason she became a cop in the first place is because she want to help him and to keep him out of trouble.
Their bond is so pure and cute.
THE TRIAL
The beginning was so cute with the sweetest welcome back to Ga On and then there’s Yohan giving him a fond smile as if Ga On was actually on death’s doorstep and not snooping around his house arguing with a nanny about not being sleeping beauty..
Tumblr media
The case was a set up from the get go. It was just a trap from the beginning to push Yohan to a corner.
They wanted him to have no where to turn to when prosecution suggested “physical castration” (gross) because if he gave into the requested sentence,
they would very easily twist it into making him look like a sadistic monster and if he didn’t give in and went with the 20 years of prison time requested by the defendant,
that would make him look like just another person who doesn’t bother with taking people’ opinion into consideration. Which would make his own statements from the first episode wildly contradicting to what he went with.
Even the stupid lawyer tries so hard to push him to this corner by repeating “this is what the majority wants” but Kang Yohan is definitely smarter than they give him credit for because he puts the pieces together as soon as Jung Sun Ah sets foot inside the court room.
I love that Ga On as a judge as come to a point where he genuinely relied on Yohan as to what they were going to do instead of directly challenging his authority like he had done in the first case. Another sign that Ga On is starting to trust his boss.
Jung Sun Ah thinks! That she has him helpless but then this man turns the whole game upside down. (Even here, it’s really just a game in the name of justice, it is a power play between two sides)
If the minister and Jung Sun Ah thought they were a step ahead of Yohan, he definitely proved that he is ten steps ahead of them when he gave that sentence.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I completely adore the trust Ga On and Jin Joo has on their boss. Especially the way Ga On shares a real relieved smile with Jin Joo and the way he looks so relieved that things weren’t going to be as bad as he thought.
Tumblr media
Teen Ga On was definitely a delinquent. The sight is just ✨
Tumblr media
Another important point is that just when he learns to trust his boss, now he is struggling,
Because from one side there’s Kang Yohan asking him is he’s going to stand by him or stand against him,
And on the other hand there’s the Chief Justice asking him to choose between being an accomplice or an informant.
They’re both essentially asking him to pick a side and it looks like they’re pulling him back and forth between themselves. He’s struggling because as much as he wants to stand by Yohan, he can see that Yohan’s approach to justice is being adapted by the public,
For an example when those three kids were playing, it gives him a notion that the barbaric flogging system is now being used as a playing method by kids.. kids. It genuinely seemed to scare him that the way those kids were laughing and smiling while playfully hitting the small boy.
Tumblr media
Kim Ga On is shown as this impulsive, level headed judge with a black and white sense of Justice but he too carries a lot of pain and burden similar to Yohan. But in his case, he’s being put on the spot between the two sides, eventually it will be him who has to face the consequences if he chooses the wrong side.
And being on the wrong side of Kang Yohan doesn’t really seem to be the smartest thing at the moment.
Going back to Kang Yohan and Kim Ga On, i like the way Bambi calls Yohan out for implying that being a monster is better than being a victim when he’s not brave enough to face his own pain.
That genuine shock on Yohan’s face is enough to show that Kim Ga On is really out there pulling out this man’s traumas one by one like he’s pulling out grass from the ground.
Tumblr media
Again it shows how much Yohan is suffering inside because ultimately, that mansion is just a giant nightmare for him.
Tumblr media
JUNG SUN AH/KANG YOHAN
first of all.
CONSENT!
i felt bad for Yohan.
But Jung Sun Ah is really obsessed with him to the point she jumped from the second floor just because he said he to, when Yohan came to a place of power, she worked herself to her own place of power. Her obsession with him runs too deep.
Tomorrow’s episode is already making me nervous because i feel like Jung Sun Ah is going to use Soo Hyun to drive a wedge between Yohan and Ga On.
If he did his homework on Ga On. I’m sure she has done hers as well.
More or less, Episode 5 was like the calm before the storm.
Unsurprisingly, i hate storms.
If you’ve made it this far, thank you for listening to me ranting.

the umbrella academy for the fandom ask game!
Oh great suggestion!!
Favourite female character: idk how popular this opinion is but honestly my favourite character is Grace. I just feel like she’s so misunderstood, and she’s so much more than “robot mom” or “robot wife”. I loved seeing the human version of her in season 2, and I hope we get more backstory about her and Reginald and why he recreated her as a robot; was he preserving her life? did he loose her somehow and built the robot version as a way of keeping her in his life? What actually lead to him building her? She’s definitely a character I want to see more of in season 3
Favourite male character: KLAUS! ABSOLUTELY! I am a Klaus Hargreaves stan first and a human being second tbh.
Favourite season: season 2 definitely. I feel like season 1 was great, but a lot of it is just explaining and introducing things (obviously, because there is a LOT to this show..) and it often feels a lot slower-paced, whereas season 2 is a lot more eventful. I’m also just a huge fan of the whole “modern people get stuck in some sort of time period that they do NOT belong in” trope.
Favourite episode: this is actually really tough.. probably s02ep07 Oga for Oga. One of my favourite scenes from the entire show is when they’re sitting down to dinner with their father around the table, trying to explain what their powers are. I just feel like it sums up each of the siblings up so perfectly, and we also get to see those Classic Sibling Antics™ (“I heard a rumour you punched yourself in the face :))))))))” ect ect). Also the scene when Luther and Diego are calling Olga Forolga because they are useless himbos is comedic gold 10/10
Favourite cast member: THIS IS LITERALLY SO HARD OML! I mean I absolutely love Elliot Page because he’s just so adorable and wholesome. Robert Sheehan is hilarious and I have pretty much seen every single interview he has ever done because he is so entertaining to me. But, as a diehard (secret) theatre kid and Hamilton fan, I think I'm gonna have to go with Emmy Raver-Lampman because she is an absolute queen and that’s that on that
Favourite ship: KLAUS AND DAVE! They are my absolute OTP I live for these two! I also loved seeing Allison and her husband in season 2, as well as Hazel and Agnes in season 1, but Klaus and Dave will forever and always be my OTP
A character I’d die defending: Hazel!!! Yes I know he is a murderer and he has committed several (hundred) atrocities but have you considered perhaps that I love him?
Character I just can’t sympathise with: The Handler. Ugh. I mean, she’s an extremely compelling villain and I really appreciate the character for that but god she is absolutely evil. She’s always working at some sort of angle, and I really thought that in season 2 she was going to get more of a redemption arc when we learnt that Lila was actually her daughter, but it turns out she was just using her all along as some sort of weapon and I just immediately lost my ability to sympathise with her all together..
A character I grew to love: this might not be a popular opinion, but Luther reeeeally grew on me in season 2. Idk what it was, he was such a pain in the ass in season 1 and I really didn’t like him, but in season 2 he was actually really funny and charming and I totally love the scene where he sees Vanya again for the first time.
My anti OTP: well obviously my least favourite ship in the entire show is Luther/Allison. “bUt ThEy’Re nOt TeChniCaLLy reLAteD!1!!” uhm yes they are? They were literally raised as brother and sister that’s nasty as hell??? So they’re my least favourite, but I also dislike (and, yes, I know im gonna get an insane amount of hate for this but it has to be said) Vanya and Sissy. I just feel like Sissy is an annoying character, and the only reason she even exists is for the “make Vanya gay” fan service. I also get the feeling that she’s sorta manipulative and is sorta using Vanya and taking advantage of her kindness (the whole “you can literally never leave the house I need you to raise my kid for me, random stranger I barely know” thing) but hey that’s just me. People can ship what they want to ship.
