ok! i think tumblr ate my fucking apple cider recipe post. still, my autumn equinox tradition must carry on!
Apollo's Foolproof From-Scratch Apple Cider That Was So Good It Allegedly Landed Me A Boyfriend
you will need:
12 apples (the variety is up to you, i usually do half granny smith and half whatever's on sale plus a red delicious for garnishing)
10oz raisins
cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, star anise, nutmeg, allspice, cardamom pods, any other warming spices u like (whole > ground) (follow ur heart on the amounts, it's like garlic just throw so much in there. just go wild)
1 orange
brown sugar (i don't have measurements but be prepared to use a LOT lmao, i always buy at least one 32oz bag. you'll be sweetening to taste.)
large pot with lid
potato masher (optional)
two large bowls/pots/receptacles to strain the cider into
fine mesh strainer
cheesecloth or coffee filters (optional)
apple corer or knife
citrus zester
slotted spoon or ladle
the steps:
1. scrub apples gently under hot water to remove grocery store wax coating. core apples making sure all seeds & stems are removed. add apples, raisins, and mulling spices to pot with enough water to fully cover ingredients, and bring to boil. reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 1 hour.
2. scrub orange to remove wax. zest and juice, avoiding the pith & seeds. use a potato masher or other utensil to lightly mash boiled apple mixture so every apple slice is at least partially broken up, then add the zest & juice to the pot. bring back to boil, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for another hour. then turn off the heat and allow mixture to cool.
3. place two mesh strainers over two bowls or pots (and cover each with a cheesecloth or coffee filters, if you have them). with a slotted spoon or ladle, remove as much of the solids from the pot as you can and place them in one strainer (the larger one, if they are different sizes) to drain, then press out as much liquid into the cheesecloth as possible.
4. pour the cider from the simmer pot into the second cheesecloth and press. combine the liquid from both bowls.
5. add brown sugar to taste
cooking tips:
the times listed above are bare minimums. once all the ingredients are in the pot (minus sugar!) you can simmer as long as you want, so long as someone's nearby to supervise.
always add any sweeteners after the cooking process. otherwise, they'll burn and make the whole thing bitter.
if it's too acidic, add baking soda or more spices. if it's not acidic enough, add lemon juice, additional orange juice, or apple cider vinegar.
variations:
add 12oz fresh cranberries to the first step
sub oranges for lemons or apple cider vinegar
sub brown sugar for straight molasses, maple syrup, or alternative sweetener of your choice (I'd imagine fig or other fruit-based sweeteners would work best)
report back to me if you try something new!! i want to hear how it turned out!
serving suggestions:
add three or four cinnamon imperials (red hots) to your mug, along with a dash of fireball whiskey if you're so inclined. i cannot stress enough how fucking amazing this tastes.
garnish with apple slices, orange slices, cinnamon sticks, and/or star anise
if you have dairy-free ice cream on hand, pour some cider over a scoop. you can use dairy ice cream, but it's more likely to curdle.
freeze some in an ice cube tray, then blend with some non-frozen cider for a slushie
ok I've never tried this, but i bet blending with pumpkin puree would slap. PLEASE tell me if you try it
this makes a metric fuckload of cider, which is very rich and can be watered down considerably (seriously). share with your friends and/or freeze some to last the season (or halve it, i guess, but that's no fun :P)

Quick n dirty Hurricane post
Hurricane Shopping List
Food:
The government will tell you that you need 3 days of food, you need at least a week. After Ian we were flooded for about 4 days and had no power for 8. You want non perishables and you want tasty non perishables, get things you and your family like. Keep your eye out for sales through the year to keep a good stash.if you don’t have a grill,  Get a mini charcoal grill so you can also still cook
Soups
tuna and other canned meats
Ramen (fun, not nutritious)
Snacks like chips and crackers, salsa!*
Single serving sauce packs (go hog wild at fast food places)
Cereal
Fresh fruit
Pasta sauce and pasta
Bread and shelf stable toppings like jelly* and peanut butter
Treats! It sucks, get some gummy bears, get BEER!
Instant coffee
*these aren't technically shelf stable, but yes they are lol, at least for a few days, sugar and acid are both preservatives, if it looks funny, don't eat it, but they'll be fine for a few days
Everything in your freezer will be good too, at least for a while. Eat everything in your fridge first, but after a few days, if you are going to lose everything in your freezer anyway, open it up and start using meats etc in there.
Water:
There are 4 categories for water, Drinking, cooking, cleaning, and flushing. ** if you do not have hot water, you need to be using bleach or vinegar or everything that gross. Hot water is our best friend and if we do not have her we need to kill every germ, without proper plumbing there are bad germs everywhere.
Drinking: half gallon  to gallon per person per day
Cooking: A gallon per day, more if you have a larger family
These two need to be in sanitized containers intended for water storage, so bottled water, or food grade 5 gallon containers, tractor supply has good ones, or the huge water jugs at the grocery store.
Cleaning***: as much as you can, personally i start saving every 2 liter, OJ bottle, milk jug etc from about January to hurricane season so i can fill them all up when a storm is on the way. This doubles as you-cleaning water, so the more the better
Flushing: as much as physically possible. Fill up every tub, every sink, fill up your trash cans. I am 100% serious you WILL run out of flushing water before anything else. Literally as much as possible.
Misc items:
Battery banks, whether proper banks, or your laptop to use as a bank
A full tank of gas, never go under half a tank during hurricane season
This radio is great
Proper first aid kit (you should already have one tbh)
Any medications you need, check your state laws to see if you can get emergency prescription refills
Toys, books, any kind of entertainment really, it gets boring, couldnt imagine being a toddler.
Extra pet food
Baby wipes
Extra period products
Corn starch is a decent dry shampoo
General tips:
Find a radio station with a morning show, find several. There was a group in my area that was broadcasting 24/7 taking calls from people with trucks and people who needed help or medicine. They saved lives.
Park your cars as high as possible, and as close to your house as you can
It is so much better to feel silly with all this stuff than to be caught off guard
Lock your pets in a non carpeted room if you can.
Do laundry!!!!!
Shower and scrub every square inch a few hours before the storm starts, wash your hair!!!
Have 2 weeks of undies
Check on your neighbors
DO NOT GO INTO FLOOD WATERS WHY DO PEOPLE DO THIS THIS IS HOW YOU GET HEPATITIS
Have a plan for if it floods, have important docs and some food in a bag ready to go. If you are in an attic without a way to break through the roof, you will drown.

Year-End Poll #50: 1999
Tumblr media
[Image description: a collage of photos of the 10 musicians and musical groups featured in this poll. In order from left to right, top to bottom: Cher, TLC, Monica, Whitney Houston, Britney Spears, Sixpence None the Richer, Christina Aguilera, Sugar Ray, Deborah Cox, Ricky Martin. End description]
More information about this blog here
As to be expected with a year marking the end of a millennium, a lot has happened this year. With Believe, Cher has become one of the few artists to have hits in four different decades. The song is also notable for its use of Auto-Tune. While the software had been used before to stealthily edit vocal performances, Believe cranked up the effect to give Cher's vocals a futuristic, almost otherworldly sound reminiscent of the vocoder.
Speaking of technology, 1999 also marks the release of a little website whose effects on the music industry are still felt today: Napster. With the leak of the MP3 format to the public, sites like Napster made it easy for people to share and download music for free. Maybe this could have been prevented if the record industry was able to use the MP3 themselves, but it's understandable why many were hesitant. The MP3 heavily compressed the sound and traded audio quality for file space. Some people assumed that the general public wouldn't want to sacrifice audio quality in order to get free music.
But there's another reason why the MP3 might have failed to catch on in an industry-approved way. By the late 90's, CD sales were at an all-time high and so were the record industry's profits. The TRL era was in full effect stirring up the teenage fanbases (and anti-fanbases). With artists like Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys (to be featured later), the Max Martin production style could be heard all over the pop charts.
1999 also came with heightened anxiety over the Y2K Bug, the fear that computers wouldn't be able to process dates containing the new year. Obviously the world didn't end at the dawn of the new millennium, but that was due to the efforts of people working behind the scenes to prevent these errors. Because of their efforts, life would be able to continue on in the year 2000.
But maybe not for the record industry.

Help Palestinian Families Without Donating!
If you’re unable to donate and looking for a way to help Palestinians, I cannot recommend Artist Antics enough (@artistanticsllc) on TikTok and YouTube. Amanda is a soap maker raising money for three Palestinian families (listed below) and donating all of the profits from social media. All you have to do is watch a short video, comment (over nine words on YT for engagement), like, and press the copy link button. What I do is leave muted videos on repeat on a device I’m not using all day and overnight. This way, you get to support these families while watching cool soaps being made. There are also incentives for when we meet donation goals with sales on soaps and a chance to get your soap design made.
The families:
Nagham is a 19-year old college student still trapped in Gaza with her family. They need funds to be able to evacuate once the borders open. Until then, they need support to afford to survive. In Gaza now, a carton of eggs can cost $70. Tents cost $1,000, and Nagham’s family’s tents have been destroyed by bombardment multiple times. They had to create a new link for their fundraiser recently and lost their progress. The family, including 8 adults and 2 babies, is now in Rafah. Nagham also needs money for her and her sisters’ educations and to rebuild their home after they evacuate.
Abdulla was studying to be a doctor at the University of Gaza and has now evacuated with his family. He and his sisters need donations to survive and finish school. He was collecting donations for his father Walid’s cancer treatment, but he sadly passed away last month after a long and difficult battle. Walid was a doctor and their hope for income after evacuating, so now Abdulla needs more help than ever to continue his studying to support his family. This fundraiser was removed by GoFundMe, so they lost all of their progress. Incentives by Amanda from Artist Antics support this campaign.
https://gofund.me/2a3cd494
Asma and Mohammed: This young couple was separated for almost a year and unable to reunite until they raised enough money. Though they were both able to evacuate to Egypt and Turkey, they could not reach each other. They lost everything, including their home and business in the bombing, and Asma’s sister and grandfather were martyred. Now they are getting married and need funds to rebuild their bakery and rent a house in Istanbul.
Please help to support these families by following Artist Antics on all platforms and engaging with all of their videos as much as possible. Share with family and friends as well. If you want to donate and only have a dollar, send it to Amanda on Venmo. They donate everything they receive there as a lump sum.
All fundraisers are verified and completely legitimate. Updates are posted on Artist Antics’ platforms.

 By Best Skin Care Products
In the ever-evolving world of beauty, finding high-quality products at affordable prices can feel like an elusive quest. However, with a little savvy shopping and knowledge of where to look, it's entirely possible to assemble an effective beauty regimen without breaking the bank. This article will guide you through the best strategies for finding top-notch  By Best Skin Care Products at the lowest prices, ensuring you achieve radiant skin without the hefty price tag.
The Beauty of Online Shopping
Online shopping has revolutionised the way we purchase beauty products. Websites like Amazon, eBay, and various dedicated beauty retailers often offer substantial discounts compared to brick-and-mortar stores. Additionally, online shopping provides the advantage of comparing prices across different platforms, ensuring you get the best deal possible.
When shopping online, it's essential to be cautious of counterfeit products. Stick to reputable sellers with high ratings and positive reviews. Subscription boxes like Birchbox or Glossybox also provide an excellent way to try out high-end products at a fraction of the retail price. These boxes often contain sample sizes of popular items, allowing you to test them before committing to a full-size purchase.
Utilising Discount Codes and Sales
One of the best ways to save on beauty products is by taking advantage of discount codes and sales. Many online retailers offer promotional codes that can be applied at checkout for a percentage off your purchase or free shipping. Websites such as Honey or RetailMeNot compile these codes, making them easily accessible.
Sales events like Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and end-of-season sales are prime opportunities to stock up on beauty essentials. Many brands and retailers offer significant discounts during these periods, allowing you to purchase your favourite products at a fraction of the cost.
Exploring Drugstore Gems
Don't overlook the potential of drugstore beauty products. Brands like Maybelline, L'Oréal, and NYX offer high-quality items that often rival their high-end counterparts. Drugstores frequently have sales and promotions, making it easy to find great deals. Additionally, many drugstores have loyalty programmes that provide members with exclusive discounts and rewards points that can be redeemed for future purchases.
DIY Beauty Solutions
Another cost-effective way to enhance your beauty routine is by incorporating DIY solutions. Many natural ingredients found in your kitchen can be used to create effective beauty treatments. For example, honey and yoghurt can be combined to make a hydrating face mask, while sugar and coconut oil create an excellent exfoliating scrub. DIY beauty treatments are not only affordable but also free from potentially harmful chemicals found in some commercial products.
Outlet Stores and Discount Retailers
Outlet stores and discount retailers such as TK Maxx, Ross, and Marshalls often carry high-end beauty products at significantly reduced prices. These stores purchase overstock items and last-season products from top brands, allowing you to score fantastic deals. It's worth checking these stores regularly, as their inventory changes frequently.
Beauty on a Budget: Skincare Essentials
Skincare is the foundation of any beauty regimen, and it's possible to find effective products without spending a fortune. Look for brands that offer affordable yet high-quality skincare items. The Ordinary, for example, is known for its science-backed formulations at accessible prices. Products like their Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 and Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% are highly effective and budget-friendly.
Makeup Must-Haves
When it comes to makeup, there are plenty of affordable options that deliver impressive results. Brands such as ColourPop, e.l.f. Cosmetics, and Wet n Wild are renowned for their high-performing products at low prices. Whether you're looking for a long-lasting foundation, vibrant eyeshadows, or a bold lipstick, these brands offer a wide range of options to suit every need and preference.
Haircare Heroes
Affordable haircare products can also provide excellent results. Brands like OGX, SheaMoisture, and Garnier offer shampoos, conditioners, and styling products that cater to various hair types and concerns. Look for products that address your specific needs, whether it's hydration, volume, or frizz control, without stretching your budget.
Smart Shopping Strategies
To maximise your savings, consider adopting some smart shopping strategies. Buying in bulk can often result in lower per-unit costs, especially for items you use regularly, such as shampoo or moisturiser. Signing up for newsletters from your favourite beauty brands and retailers can also keep you informed about upcoming sales and exclusive offers.
Additionally, joining loyalty programmes can provide long-term savings. Many brands and retailers offer rewards points for every purchase, which can be redeemed for discounts on future orders. These programmes often come with other perks, such as birthday gifts and early access to sales.
Final Thoughts
Finding beauty products at the lowest prices doesn't mean compromising on quality. By exploring different shopping avenues, utilising discounts, and being open to trying new brands and DIY solutions, you can maintain a radiant and healthy beauty routine without straining your budget. Remember, true Beauty Products comes from confidence and self-care, and these affordable options make it easier than ever to look and feel your best.

Update:
So, for those that want to know, I got it ALL out.
After some internet research and a few swipes to see if it worked, I figured it out.
First and most importantly, you need Cider Vinegar. Now this is good for you anyway and you are going to soak your whole self in it. Make sure to get a gallon or so. You can always make pickles or saurkraut with the leftovers, and it's good for cleaning as well. Make sure not to inhale or get it in your eyes. I've made pickles before, so I knew that going in.
Now we make the gook.
Start with chunky peanut butter(and yes, this is going to get messy!) and add equal parts mayo. Do Not Eat! Just kidding, unless you're pregnant, and then I'm wondering why the hell you were getting polyurethane on yourself in the first place because the fumes can't be good for little baminos. I wouldn't try this as a spa treatment while pregnant, either. Also, make sure the room is well ventilated. I wouldn't try this with bad asthma or COPD, either. Then again, the same question I asked the pregnant lady, why are you fucking around with Polyurethane?
Now the key ingredients. Add about 1/2 a bottle of this
Tumblr media
and the entire bottle of this
Tumblr media
Although this sounds like a lot, the castor oil is a sample sized bottle. I also keep an eye out for sales, and we have some wholesale outlets near us that lead to some good deals.
Now that you got that shit mixed, get in the tub(or some place you can clean easily) and go to town. For me, I was mostly soaked in my hair. I made sure I separated my hair by layers and up into the roots. I also parted it vertically as well as horizontally. Spread that leftover peanut butter mess everywhere. It's not going to be neat and even like a mask, but that's okay, it's chunky, family style.
Now comes the hard part. You got to let it sit. I made it about five minutes. The longer the better. The more oils you can let absorb in your skin, the better. When you can't stand it anymore, pour vinegar over everything to rinse. Use the chunks in the peanut butter to scrub, see there was a reason!, and rub as much in as you can. Then, for my skin, I rinsed with my regular body wash(Alba Botanica Hawaiian Detox Body Wash, Anti-Pollution Volcanic Clay) and my Supracor. (P.S. For super smooth skin, try using a body polish sugar scrub. Making sure that it says all four words. Otherwise, you are just dumping honey on your skin. And who would waste food like that? LOL)
For my hair I continued rinsing with a shampoo till all the shampoo was out. Then I put in some MORE conditioner,(the rest of the ORS) and let it sit while I cleaned the tub. Then I finished with a conditioning shampoo for curly hair.
Considering the amount of polyurethane in my hair? I would have considered not having to cut my hair a success. Not having to shower multiple times is also a good deal. I think the fact that my color didn't wash out is wonderful! My skin is still smooth 2 days later. I wish I could make money off this somehow...
Tumblr media
Lesson Learned.
Never walk anywhere with an open can of polyurethane.
Also, if you do fall, aim away from your body.
Particularly your hair.
Especially if you just paid to have it done.
More especially, don't grab for a paint can in a flimsy thin plastic tray.
Bonus points: Hit head into corner shelf.
On the flip side? A nice deep color for the summer, and I'll never have to worry about stains or wrinkles! I have also scrubbed every inch of my body top to bottom three times with super strength soap. My skin is smoother than a baby's well...
However, it is still tacky.
Maybe I need a second coat? LOL
I had three construction guys and my Aunt go, "Damn, I wish I had the camera out!" I assume it was a spectacular shower of sludge. I had my eyes closed. I'm not stupid.

Warnings College AU sexual and adult themes. Yall know the drill okay
Chapter 2
Bugzapper⚡💔: i have a proposition to make.
Jiro flashes Mina her phone as she sips iced coffee in the blessed air conditioning of the cafe.
"That's never a good sign." She comments, moon bright eyes glued to the phone as she thinks.
"What's not a good sign?" Uraraka asks from across the table, the two girls fill her in.
"Oh." She racks her brain on what that could be, "Okay well I'm dying to know, now."
🎵Music to my soul 🎶 : What do you want airhead?
Jiro's text sent a surge of excitement through Kaminari. It was exactly what he needed after three hours of begging and bribing Bakugou to allow the sorority in or at least invite them. His fingers fly across the screen setting up a date and time for a "meeting over lunch" to discuss the proposition in further detail.
Meanwhile across campus, you huff, eyes narrowed as a rare emotion is pulled from your fingertips in the form of deadly ice. Pulling the moisture from the air to freeze it or pulling any water towards you to keep your flank safe as your opponent rushes you at breakneck speeds.
You hated this fucking guy, cocky, brash, so God damn arrogant in the way he held himself, in the way he spoke. It made you nauseous just thinking of him.Had you known he was the male star of this university you wouldn't have transferred, yet you still needed to transfer didn't you? Anything to get out from under the shadow of a certain Todoroki.
No one cared to admit or to notice, that your quirk was different from Shoto's. You could manipulate water towards you to freeze, and manipulate whatever was already frozen. Your ice was denser and more durable than his and dare you say it colder than his too. Yet no one gave a shit, his was ice AND fire. You were just a one trick pony and a trick they already saw. Your opponent's taunting doesn't help matters much.
"I've already seen this before Ice Brat. Did ya forget where I fucking went to high school?" His hand heats the ice as he activates his quirk before three deafening blasts ring out.
As you allow him to break down the ice you act on pure rage, securing some revenge from the first time he signed your hair. Pointed icicles lie in wait and once the wall is fully down you give him a nasty smirk before sending the straight his way.
You're supposed to melt your weapons before they hit your opponent, neither of you are supposed to go all out per the professor's and college's strict rules in the athletics department but Bakugou always does. Somehow his big stupid mouth spews something that eggs you on. As if someone were shoving bamboo skewers beneath your skin, under your nails, sending you into an unheard of rage.
Normally you were as your quirk, icy, unbothered by the world but Bakugou, God you could wring his neck. Freeze his hot blood as you watch him turn into slush beneath your feet.
He expects you to abide by the rules, to splash him with glacier water but he realizes it too late. That you won't he let's off a quick blast, shattering two of the four deadly points. One grazes his cheek as he just barely dodges while the other lodges itself into his arm.
You have half a mind to twist it. You pull at his blood bringing it into your arsenal. Blood red needles and bullets surround Bakugou.
"I don't think you've seen this before.." You say darkly ready to release your hold and shred him into, give him a taste of his own medicine. Maybe he would see how bitter and nauseating he was. He smirks, opening his mouth to retort but you send your ice his way aiming for non vital spots although the ice creeps closer to your heart begging it to hit something vital. The inside of your ice palace begins to reek of burning sugar and spice, he plans to let out an explosion to bring this whole place down from the inside out.
Just as he is about to detonate and just as the blood and ice are about to pierce skin the professor bursts into the gym.
"I step out for five minutes and this is what happens?!"
The ice and blood return to liquid splashing across Bakugou as his skin pops. The professor takes in the damage from your ice and his explosions, still better controlled than most of his other students quirks.
"I gotta stop pairing these two together." He murmurs to himself before dismissing class. With a flick of your wrist the ice fortress melts, returning to the reservoir below the gym floor, ignoring the molten glare that is sent your way.
"You're such a bitch." Bakugou growls as you pass, flinging blood from his fingers as he wipes at his face. You offer him a fake pitying smile before heading into the women's locker room.
"Fucking asshole." You hiss, forcing the sight of his garnet gaze out of your mind. Instead turning your attention to your buzzing phone in your locker. It's a few missed calls and some texts in the girl's group chat. Briefly you wonder if you ever should have joined that stupid sorority, it was small, non toxic, and would look good should you need to transfer again.
Not only did you somehow get elected the president but you also became friends with the three other ladies despite your best efforts not too.
Mins: Prez we might have a way to save the sorority...lunch after you're done with training?
IceQueen ❄: Hope it's good, the Dean already put the house up for sale. Let me get ready and I'll be there shortly.
Mina presents her phone to the crowd around her, Kirishima, Denki, Sero, Jiro and Uraraka do a small celebration. Denki more so than anyone else, he knows the combined car washes will be more than enough to fix up the house, he also recently learned that you had the power of negotiation on your side. Having just listened to Mina retell the story of how you got free food for a month from a bar for yourself and your friends. And not from some sleaze who wanted to sleep with you either, no it was from the owner himself.
Denki is hopeful and so are the ladies indicating that this may be his best idea yet.
You arrive at the small bistro early, spying your party on the front patio. The three men had seen you in person before, they knew you were easy on the eyes but up close you were breathtaking. Manicured nails but nothing gaudy, normally nude or soft shades, light makeup, mascara at most as far as they could tell and your outfit was well put together. You were what the world called plus size but everyone else called thiccc. Your confidence oozing in your light blouse tucked into your black skinny jeans, uncaring that you had a pouch.
You needed that extra fat to keep from freezing by your own quirk. The only thing you needed society to worry about was your intelligence and your power.
Both were SSR ranked so what did you fucking care that your body was ranked lower. They were stupid in thinking you'd skimp power in the name of vanity.
You recognize everyone at the table and internalize the dread you're feeling. Scheming is afoot and you're the last to arrive. You can tell by their half finished drinks and picked over appetizer, still you sit and act unaware. Denki goes to hold out his hand first for a formal introduction causing a sly cat smile to settle over your glossy lips.
"No need, I'm aware of who the three of you are. Sero we share our lingual class, Denki, our chemistry class, and Kirishima we share two classes, world studies and villain hero theory. Truly a pleasure." You tell then your name before ordering something to drink from the lingering waitress. Sitting stick straight with your shoulders backs has the men mirroring you.
"Well ladies I take it the plan to save the sorority involves these fine gentlemen." You ask coolly and they nod. After a moment of silence Mina and Denki go to speak. Awkwardly encouraging the other to speak until Minai clears her throat.
"As you know they are a newly formed frat with Sero as their president. They moved into their house about a month ago and they say it is quite large. So they have invited us to move in."
"How do you propose we ask the college to have a co-ed house? What does this fraternity home even look like?" They knew you would be quick to ask questions Mina answers the first while Denki provides the answer to the second.
"Union and Diversity. Forming close relationships now to carry over into our hero careers."
"The house needs some work but looks a lot better than what it did." Denki shows you before and after pictures as you gesture for his phone. He passes you his electric yellow case with nervous hope tingling beneath his skin. You swipe through the photos.
"You boys did a great job on the outside. Inside needs a lot of work. Hardwoods will be easy to fix, they are original but don't seen to be damaged, a good scrub will spruce them up. Wait, are those?" You zoom in on the photo of the living room, "Are those foldable camping chairs and a VHS tv?"
They gulp loudly as they nod, your purse your lips in disapproval.
"I can fix that." You pass Denki back his phone, assuming that all the roommates will be present, "I see the main focus was the kitchen but some of the appliances seem to be on their last legs. I can fix that as well."
"Soooo….So it's a yes?" Jiro asks, feeling relief for the first time in months since they received the letter of eviction.
"Gotta get the college to agree first." You think on it a moment, "But I'm sure we can arrange that. Uraraka can you draft an email to the Dean requesting an official meeting regarding our sorority? Be sure to explain in detail our situation, how we are being forced to disband by their account and the solution we have. Make sure it's an afternoon meeting too. The dean hates to miss golf with our rival university's dean."
With the plan set in motion all of you return to your evening classes. Jiro nudges Denki in the ribs, listening to his heart race from their closeness.
"When are we going to tell her about Bakugou?" She throws her almost lover a look that he seems to wither beneath. His jaw tics before he retorts.
"I think we should wait to see if this even works first."
After a week the important meeting arrives and as you thought the Dean is already exhibiting signs of impatience. He is more than ready to wrap this up and you already know his answer is going to be no. Already trying to get it out before the four of you can even have a seat.
Still you weren't the Ice Queen on campus for nothing. You saunter into the room, mineola folder filled with your copies of counterpoints pressed firmly to your chest, you can already see he doesn't have the copies you sent him. You place the folder down and open it, leafing through the pages as you speak.
"This request is going to be approved and here are the reasons why. An example of sexism could be made that a new fraternity was approved housing, new housing, after a decades old sorority was deemed "too small" both parties are similar in count. Second funding and donations are easily influenced with letters to alumni and especially by attendees to this university. My transfer from YAU has brought in revenue of roughly 2.6 million dollars, increasing your diversity for women when this is normally a male dominated school. I am aware that my transfer had even encouraged other students from YAU to transfer here. Which I'm sure is one of your favorite bragging points to tell Dean Fraunk during your weekly golf trips isn't it? So it would truly be a shame if these points would come to light in the investigation of my return to YUA just months before the university sports festival. I do look amazing in Ice Blue you know. Matches my quirk a lot better than Maroon." You put the ball in his court, he is visibly upset, eyes flying to the facts that you've presented. All important, viable facts. You were right MMU was known to be a male dominated school and the media would have a field day if they uncovered a mistake he happened to look over. Not to mention you were his main bragging point, Dean Yuzi always talked about how he had stolen you, the female star of rising heroes, from YUA.  The silence in the room is amplified by the ticking of the clock, seconds accumulating into minutes as it counts down his T time with his old college buddy and rival. He gulps nervously, knowing what he has to do in order to keep both his bragging rights and a law suit under wraps. He looks up to you as you wear your stone cold face, making him think of a loan shark who hasn't been getting their payments on time. He is fearful for your future boss.
"I believe I have no choice but to approve."
"Correct." You respond, "Now we have a bit more to discuss. I noticed that classrooms 456 and 215 are being remodeled. Those gently used flat screens will be given to our house since it is technically college property. Common space 3 and 1 are being renovated in dorms A and B. We will accept the leather arm chairs as they are in good shape but we demand a new couch. I know it is in the budget as I help plan the budget. I also believe it is time for an allowance for our hybrid house." The Dean shrinks away from your tenacity, nodding as that is all he can do.
"Well this is a generous offer and should cover most of the basic necessities such as a new fridge and mattress. The aesthetic we will be raising funds for. Kindly spread the word, we don't want to take up more of your time and be late with your 'meeting' with Dean Fraunk." You place a flyer on his desk as you turn on your heel. The rest of the sorority, mouth agape following suit. Yuzi looks down at the flyer, head hung in a mixture of disbelief and shame as he reads over the neon paper advertising a co-ed car wash.
He just hopes you and Bakugou are worth the trouble.

How to Lose Stomach Fat Without Exercise or Dieting
Tumblr media
Losing weight is an extremely popular fitness goal: over half of Americans list it as important to them. Many people consider their stomachs to be especially troublesome, and research shows that visceral fat (around the internal organs) is the most dangerous to your health. While you will not achieve major weight loss without diet and exercise, there are a few things you can do to slim your stomach line without heading to the gym or starving yourself.
Method 1
Mimicking Weight Loss Temporarily
Step 1
Try tummy-control garments. There have never been more options in the undergarment industry for clothing that tighten, firm, and shapes the midsection. Made mainstream by Spanx, tummy-control garments are available in many types for people of most sizes.
Women's undergarments include tummy-control pantyhose, panties, high-waisted shorts, bodysuits, camisoles, and tank tops made of Lycra, elastic, or some combination. Most mainstream undergarment brands for women carry control top styles, but the most popular include Spanx, Soma, and TC Shaping. Buy your normal size and expect it to run small.
There are many options for men, including Spanx or Sculptees brand tank tops for men that target the abdominals. These are essentially compression shirts that whittle the appearance of the midsection. While results will vary, these companies claim their products can reduce the midsection by 3 – 5 inches (7.6 – 12.7 cm).
Step 2
Take advantage of current trends in corseting and waist training. This method involves wearing a binding garment across the abdomen. If done in moderation, corseting can create a thinner silhouette without any other lifestyle changes.
Some celebrities swear by corseting as a weight loss mechanism, and although doctors say it won't actually help you lose fat cells, it can help you lose weight by cinching in your stomach as you eat so that you don't have as much room to overeat. In addition, the fat cell can expand or shrink, according to how much fat it is storing.
Be careful about wearing these too tight or too frequently. Because they can reduce your stomach capacity, you might vomit after eating even a normal-sized meal. They can also contribute to heartburn and compress your organs.
Purchase your corset at a store with a knowledgeable sales staff, who can help you fit it correctly and learn to lace it appropriately so that it is not too tight.
Step 3
Consider a body wrap. Body wraps are spa treatments that claim to detoxify and slim the midsection. With training, these can also be done at home. While the process can vary, most involve several steps and the application of several types of body products.
The aesthetician will start by massaging and applying a body scrub to your midsection, which will then be rinsed in a shower. The body scrub will contain a variety of herbs and minerals thought to cleanse the skin of impurities and reduce the appearance of fat or cellulite.
The body will then be rubbed with a lotion or oil containing other emollients and properties.
Next, the midsection will be securely wrapped in linen, plastic, or thermal sheets, and then an electric heated blanket will be used to warm the body for about 30 minutes, which will cause sweating. This step, in particular, is thought to remove impurities and reduce the appearance of fat.
After removing the blanket and wraps, the midsection will be massaged again to increase blood flow.
While this process is not supported for weight loss, many clients feel that it reduces the appearance of stomach fat and cellulite, especially with repeated treatments. Due to the sweating process (and loss of water weight), it is not uncommon for clients to experience a loss of a couple of inches, although this will be temporary.

Step 4
Reduce your water weight. The body can retain water for various reasons, giving a bloated appearance, particularly around the waist. Reducing water weight will temporarily slim the waistline.
Hydrate. In many cases, water retention is the body's effort to prevent dehydration when you are not taking in enough water per day. This is especially true in hotter months. Be sure you are drinking at least eight 8-oz glasses of hydrating fluids a day (or 2 liters), which will help flush out your system and reduce bloating and puffiness.
Reduce your sodium intake. Excess salt causes the body to retain water. Processed foods and restaurant foods are the major sources of sodium for the average American. These foods account for about 75% of the sodium in the diet. You should consume no more than 1,500 mg of sodium per day, which is a little over 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
Reduce your alcohol and coffee consumption. These drinks are known to cause dehydration, which can cause water retention in the body (as the body struggles to hold onto whatever water it can).
Method 2
Changing Your Lifestyle
Step 5
Avoid swallowing air. This might seem like a strange suggestion, but swallowed air is one of the biggest causes of bloating, which contributes to a rounder midsection. Simply reducing the amount of air you swallow throughout the day can trim down your tummy measurements.
Avoid carbonated beverages, even those with zero calories like carbonated water. Beverages with air in them fill your abdomen with air, which causes a bloated appearance.
Avoid smoking. Smokers who inhale smoke also tend to swallow it, which bloats their stomachs.
Avoid chewing gum and talking while eating. Both of these habits lead to swallowed air.
Step 6
Practice good posture. Changing the way you carry yourself and sit won't make stomach fat disappear, but it will make you look slimmer by helping your body fat distribute properly across the torso rather than gathering at the midsection. Try to keep your upper body straight, your shoulders pulled back, and your head high.
When you sit, your buttocks should touch the back of your chair, and all three normal back curves should be present in your back (meaning a small towel or washcloth rolled up should fit above your buttocks)
When you stand, keep your shoulders back, pull in your stomach, and keep your feet about a hip-width apart.
If you're willing to do a little exercise, movements that strengthen your core and back can make it easier to maintain your posture while tightening up the muscles around your midsection. Try adding a few light crunches and easy back exercises to your schedule as you improve your posture.
Step 7
Get enough sleep. Sleeping doesn't burn fat on its own, but it is a crucial part of weight loss efforts. This is mainly because sleep deprivation (not getting enough sleep) makes most aspects of weight loss more difficult. When you aren't well-rested, it's hard to motivate yourself to get up and move. It's also hard to control cravings: you're more likely to act on impulses to eat junk food when you're already drained of energy
While everyone's sleep needs are different, the majority of adults need about seven to nine hours per night. Children and elderly people tend to need more.
Step 8
Find a fitness-positive support network. Surrounding yourself with people who are committed to healthy living can help you live healthier. Hanging out with health-conscious people gives you more opportunities to participate in activities that lead to weight loss. Make an effort to spend time with people who enjoy hobbies that promote healthy living, like walking, sports, cycling, nutritious home cooking, and so on. Limit your time with people who have unhealthy hobbies like eating junk food, binge drinking, and watching hour after hour of television.
If you don't have anyone in your family or circle of friends who is interested in health-conscious activities, don't be afraid to make new contacts. Join an intramural sports team or start participating in pickup games at your local park. Take a healthy cooking course or join a spin class at your local community center. There are many healthy ways to meet people — it's up to you!
Step 9
Start tracking your weight. Some nutrition experts suggest that having an accurate idea of your own weight can promote healthy living.[14] Keeping track of your weight forces you to think healthy — if the numbers on the scale start to go up, you'll know that it's time to reconsider your habits.
A person's weight can fluctuate by as much as 10 pounds from day to day. To get an accurate average, measure yourself at the same time every day (like right after you get up). At the end of the week, add up your measurements and divide by seven. The number you get will be close to your "true" average weight.
Why is it important to have good sitting posture when you're trying to minimize stomach fat?
Method 3
Changing Your Eating Habits
Step 10
Drink plenty of water. If you drink soda, sports drinks, flavored coffees with sugar and cream, or other high-calorie beverages throughout the day, try replacing them with water. You'll get the same level of hydration and fullness while cutting down on your calories. Keep it up and you can achieve mild weight loss without any extra effort.
The health benefits of water are well-documented. Drinking water energizes muscles, keeps skin looking healthy and clear, and provides a boost of energy. Best of all, it's zero-calorie, so you can drink as much as you want. See our tips on working water into your daily schedule for more great ideas.
Don't be fooled into swapping soda for fruit juice, which is full of calories. The process of juicing removes all the healthy fiber from fruit and leaves nothing but sugar behind. Stick with water or zero-calorie flavored waters for the most tummy-friendly hydration.
Step 11
Eat smaller meals more frequently. Instead of three large meals a day, try eating several smaller meals of a few hundred calories. This can reset your hunger cues so that you will know when you are actually hungry versus eating out of habit.
One convenient way to reduce your portion sizes is simply to use a smaller plate. Smaller plates can make the same amount of food appear larger due to something called the Delboeuf illusion.[18] You're essentially "tricking" your brain into being satisfied with less food.
Step 12
Measure out each serving of food. Don't trust your eyes to tell you how much to eat — instead, use your brain. With recent trends in commercial cuisine tending towards large portions, many people now have a distorted idea of what a normal portion of food looks like. Use measuring cups and the information on the "Nutrition Facts" section of your food's packaging to ensure you eat one serving at a time. You may even want to invest in a simple food scale.
Many common foods have serving sizes that are easy to visually memorize. A few common examples are below (you can view more here):
Vegetables and fruit: about the size of your fist
Meat, fish, or poultry: about the size of your palm (minus the fingers)
Cheese or fatty spreads: about the size of your thumb
Carbohydrates (rice, pasta, etc.): about the size of a cupcake wrapper
Step 13
Eat breakfast. Many Americans skip breakfast and then overcompensate for their resulting hunger by overeating at lunch and dinner.
Ensure that your breakfast contains at least one item from three food groups: dairy, fruit, and grains.
If you are on a high-protein, low-carbohydrate diet, you could have eggs and cheese. The important thing is that food intake in the morning actually gets your metabolism going, and you do not remain in the fasting state
A healthy breakfast for a 150-pound adult is about 300 – 400 calories.
Step 14
Make smart food choices. A healthy diet is more friendly to the waistline than a non-healthy one, even if the calorie content is the same. It's both possible and essential to still eat healthy when you're not dieting.
Eat fresh fruits and vegetables instead of processed snacks. Processed foods have added preservatives, artificial ingredients, and are often full of carbohydrates, sugar, and fat. Fresh foods give you more nutrition per calorie than processed, carbohydrate-heavy snack foods like chips or crackers. Processed foods also tend to contain more salt, which retains fluid and can lead to excess weight stored around the midsection.
Never snack directly out of the bag or carton. One study found that people given a large bucket of popcorn ate 44% more popcorn than those given smaller buckets. It's much easier to overeat when a large portion of food is in front of you. Instead, pour one serving of the snack into a bowl, then put the package away.
Step 15
Keep your portions under control when you eat away from home. Controlling portions at home when you sit down for a meal is often easier than at a restaurant, where portions sizes for one meal often contain the recommended calories for one person for an entire day, or at a friend's house, where you cannot control what goes into the meal. Luckily, there are a few things you can do to control your portion size in places where you don't have perfect control over your food:
Plan what you will order ahead of time. Many restaurants have websites with complete nutritional information for their menus, so you can make a smart choice before you even leave your house.
When you're at a restaurant, ask the waiter to bring a takeout container at the same time as your food. Measure out one portion, then put the rest in the container right away. You'll be less tempted to mindlessly continue eating as you talk with your companions.
When dining at another person's house, don't be afraid to ask for a small portion. This way you can clean your plate, instead of leaving a portion of food behind and potentially offending your host.
When shopping, pick individually-sized foods, rather than foods that come in large containers. For instance, instead of buying a carton of ice cream, pick up a package of popsicles or ice cream sandwiches.
Step 16
Switch to foods that leave you feeling fuller longer. When it comes to reducing your tummy line, it's not all about how much you eat, but also what you eat that counts. Certain foods give short "bursts" of energy and satisfaction, but leave you hungry before your next meal. Instead of these foods, focus on alternatives that offer long-term satisfaction.
Filling foods that offer longer periods of satisfaction include whole-grain bread, rice, and pasta, oats, nuts, water, lean meats and fish, eggs, green vegetables, beans, and legumes.
Non-filling foods include sodas, processed snack foods, "white" bread, rice, and pasta, candy, and starches.
Step 17
Eat slowly. When you eat quickly, you can swallow a surprising amount of food before you start to feel full and satisfied. On the other hand, eating slowly gives you plenty of time to feel full and stop eating before you've consumed more calories than you need. There is even evidence that this can promote the release of specific hormones that are responsible for the feeling of fullness in the brain.
Take time to eat your food. Concentrate on chewing each bite 10 – 20 times and take sips of water between each bite. Set the fork or spoon down between each bite. If you can, eat with someone else so you can pause to chat during your meal.
Try setting a timer for 20 – 30 minutes at the start of your meal. Pace yourself so that you don't take the last bite until the timer goes off.
When you finish your food, take a break from eating, even if you still feel a little hungry. Give your body a chance to register as having a full stomach, which can sometimes take a while. Only help yourself to seconds if you still feel hungry after another half an hour.
Step 18
Eat-in peaceful, quiet locations. Research suggests that eating in relaxing environments leads people to eat less overall. On the other hand, eating in loud, busy, chaotic environments can lead to over-eating. While the root cause isn't certain, this may be because these sorts of situations distract from feelings of fullness by creating mild anxiety.
One common cause for rushed, panicked eating is being late to school or work. Fixing this is a matter of adjusting your schedule. Consider getting up earlier so you have a chance to enjoy a relaxed breakfast before you leave.
Step 19
Record your meals. Merely keeping track of what you eat can be an enlightening experience. You may be surprised to learn that you normally eat more than you think you do. Try writing your meals and snacks in a notebook you carry with you every day. Be sure to note the number of servings you eat for each as well as the calorie content per serving.
There are also a variety of free websites and apps that make it convenient to keep track of your daily food choices.

🌞🧹🌻Hearth Witch Tips!🌻🧹🌞
04: Your kitchen eats with you!
Just like with the rest of the house, what you put into the kitchen also heavily affects its energy. When you treat the hearth in certain ways, it reacts in certain ways. Your relationship with any room in the house is give-and-take. That means that if you don’t give back occasionally, the room will grow cold and stop appreciating your presence. But there are plenty of ways to mend your relationship! And the first step is to identify the problem!
From my experience, there are three main reasons why the kitchen stops being a warm and inviting place: 1) You are filling the cupboards with too much toxic, processed foods; 2) You aren’t spending enough time in that room; 3) Or you aren’t keeping the room clean enough.
When there’s a problem in the hearth, it’s always either one of these things or some combination of them. We’ll start with number three since it’s the easiest to explain. The kitchen should be anyone’s top priority to keep clean. It’s where all of your food, the nutrition and fuel of your physical and spiritual bodies, comes from! What you eat is your first defense against illness, injury, and your mental health. If the kitchen is filthy, then the food you take into your body will also begin to develop the same properties.
To keep the kitchen clean, I always start my day by washing last night’s dishes and give the counters a quick wipe. Once a month, I take stock of what’s in the fridge and freezer and scrub them out to prevent bacteria build-up. Sweeping the kitchen floors happens once a week and takes me all of three minutes to complete, tops. Once per season, normally at the beginning, I scrub the floors with soap and water, descale the coffee maker, wipe down the other appliances, and clean out the cupboards. So the only true “cleaning days” for the kitchen is four days out of the entire year. The rest of the time, the chores only take me about 30 minutes. As a quick tip, rinsing your dishes before setting them in the sink speeds up the dish washing process a ton! I’ve personally never trusted dishwashers since they don’t clean stuff well enough and it’s easier, faster, and far more cost effective to do it by hand.
The next problem the kitchen’s energy might be suffering from is how much time you’re spending there. First, spending a lot of time in the kitchen is a great thing! It absorbs the energy you feed to it, so when you don’t go in the kitchen very often or just don’t spend much time in there to begin with, the kitchen grows darker and colder. It loses the warmth and emotion and love that would’ve been sinking into it when you aren’t there.
The way to fix this problem is actually really easy! Cooking your own meals ensures that you are in there for a good amount of time each day because of the prep work and meal planning, etc. Plus, you get healthier, tastier food that way too! If you can’t cook all that well yet, don’t worry! Just like any skill, there’s no talent involved in learning something. It just depends on how much effort you apply to it. Another way to boost the hearth’s energy is to just hang out in that room. Invite some friends over, set out a snack tray, and just chill in the kitchen. Of course, since it’s pandemic right now, it’s best to wait until that’s over with to try this approach. But you, yourself, can still hang out in the kitchen!
The last problem, and a very, very common one in this day and age, is the influence of toxic food. Just like how your house absorbs energy from the land its on and what its built with, the kitchen also absorbs energy from the ingredients you keep within it. Toxic foods include anything processed or with a bunch of added sugars, and even GMO ingredients to some extent due to the trace chemicals that are still on the crops. These kinds of foods, if that’s the only thing in your house, will rot the energy. Not to mention, easy to grab snacks also end up causing you to spend a lot less time in the kitchen if that’s all you eat. Needless to say, no one eats healthy all the time. I don’t either! But having only toxic food in your kitchen isn’t great for you or the hearth.
Once again, cooking comes to the rescue! Even if you’re bad at it, it’s the thought that counts and little by little, as your skills grow and improve, the kitchen will learn to help guide you. There have been many times where I’d be stuck on how to fix something and a bottle of spice would fall of the shelf right next to me. If you listen to the kitchen, it will listen to you, too! Even if you don’t have time to cook, snacks like apples, berries, seeds, nuts, and dried meats are all healthy alternatives! I usually keep kale chips in the house for some yummy, salty crunchiness!
                                    ------------------------------
If you are worried about cost with this approach (believe me, due to my own situation it’s been a struggle at times), I’ve found out several tips and tricks to significantly lower the grocery bill. Anymore, my bill would actually be bigger if I bought crap food instead! Here’s my advice:
☀  Plan your week ahead! I always plan four meals a week that I’ll cook, and three days that I’ll scavenge for snacks and leftovers. I also stick to the rule of “one simple, one chicken, one meatless, one freebie” to remain more cost effective! The “simple” meal is just something I can make quickly if I know I’ll be short on time. The reason for have one of the meals be chicken is because it’s a much less expensive meat than beef or pork, and it’s a little better for the environment. The meatless meal is for the same reasoning. Meat is expensive and commercial brands are horrible for both the environment and the animals themselves. When I do buy meat, I make sure to buy local, grass-fed, organic meat as often as I can afford to. Keep in mind that every time you purchase anything, you are casting your vote for what is acceptable for society to continue. The “freebie” meal is just whatever I’ve been craving. If I want some kind of beef, I wait until this day.
☀  Learn to bake your own bread! For those of us with the time, this is a great way to save money and to stay healthy! Basic, white bread is actually pretty easy to make and only uses a couple ingredients. Those ingredients also go a long way. It costs me about 24¢ to make one loaf of bread because things like flour, sugar, salt, butter, honey, and yeast are all things that you buy once and can use for several loaves before you have to buy them again! It’s also not as time consuming as you’d think. Yes, it takes about 2 hours, but most of that time is proofing so you can easily be running around doing other things in between.
☀  Grow a garden! Even if it’s just a small, window herb garden, it can take the edge off of your overall food cost. Portobello mushrooms are also super easy to grow inside with minimal effort and equipment. If you have outdoor space, planting a small garden with the ingredients you use the most can help immensely!
☀  Only buy what you need! I know those sales look crazy tempting, but most of them are actually bogus and don’t actually save you any money. Think about what you are actually going to use before it goes bad and stick to your list. The bottom shelves at the store, aka the ones not in your direct line of sight, are usually where the grocery stores hide the better priced goods. At the back of most stores that have bakeries, there’s also usually a spot to get baked goods left over from the previous day for a slightly cheaper price. Day-old baked novelties like bread, cookies, and cakes are still perfectly good, and much easier to enjoy where you don’t have to spend as much!
☀  Check what’s already in your fridge before making your list! This is a huge one, since it prevents food waste, which in turn prevents money waste! What can you make during this week that can use up some of the ingredients leftover from last week? You’ll be impressed how quickly your food cost drops when you aren’t throwing things away. Waste not, want not! This trick also applies in another way, as well. When making your weekly meal plans, what types of foods use similar ingredients? If one meal calls for a slightly pricier ingredient, what other food can you cook with that ingredient to make the cost worth it? This also ensures that you get full use of things without wasting them. For example, this week I bought some fresh mozzarella cheese. Because this item is a little more expensive, I’m using it to make both the tomato mozzarella sandwiches and the beef wellingtons I’m making this week!
☀  Buy mostly produce! One of the best ways to lower your bill while still eating healthy is to simply add more fruits and veggies into your diet! There are so many tasty recipes that call for these babies that you’ll never run out of options, and there’s several things out there for everyone! Because I deal with sensory issues, I had to experiment a lot with what textures and tastes I could handle, especially on the bad days, but even still I found an over-abundance of things I love to eat. Fresh produce is way less expensive than meat, and much less expensive than many of the more mainstream snacks like chips or other processed foods.
------------------------------ All in all, taking care of your kitchen will also end up taking care of you, as well! Spending time there, actually using the kitchen the way it’s supposed to be, and just keeping it clean can work wonders in opening up your home and making it ten times warmer and more inviting! Trust me, your health and home will thank you for it!
