Part 5 of my 911 watch through
Starting off with a bang of a wedding, but at least the bride and groom survived.
OOF I'm 4 minutes in and Bobby is losing his shit on this guy already, great start!
Hen and Athena hanging out, I love their friendship already.
Hen is now confirmed to be married to a woman!!! (I'd heard she was a lesbian but other than vibes there hasn't been any confirmation till now) I'm interested to meet the criminal ex tho.
I don't know how much of an unpopular opinion this is, but hearing the conversation between Buck trying to comfort and help Abby actually makes me like their "relationship" more. I still think it's a little weird, and I think both characters need to work on some things. But I don't hate this plotline yet (still angry about that therapist tho)
This is the ex... oh hun, why would you put yourself through a woman like her (not appearance wise, just personality and vibes)
Oh no, Buck and Abby first meeting, I don't think I'm prepared.
I still adore Carla, and it didn't go badly...yet
Bobby's at confession again
I'm sorry he did HWAT now???
Was it drunk driving?
Oh no, I love his kids đ„ș
Don't tell me he goes on a walk and something happens.
Booze and pills, plus an open flame that he left unattended...
I was right, the god damn apartment.
I don't even know how to process what I'm hearing right now...
I literally had to pause the episode and come back.
Side note, does nobody else go to that church?
Also poor Buck meeting the parents in such an awkward way and damn this episode for making me like Abby and Buck together. I am glad her mom is alright though.
That dudes son was spinning like a beyblade in the carwash lmao.
It's nice to see Bobby trying to open up a little. I'm really happy the characters are starting to have moments where they interact on a more personal level.
I'm sorry...are they having phone sex?????
OH THANK GOD IT CUT
Good lore heavy episode though!

Blood binding and Sauronâs intentions
My pal @rey-jake-therapist and I were in one of our usual friendly discussions about this topic in one of her posts, but since the theme digresses so much from her original intent and Iâm pretty much spamming her OG post by now, we decided to move the debate to here, and invite the fandom to join in.
As customary, Rey always presents good and challenging counter-arguments to mine. Because it's possible to disagree and keep it civil and friendly. This is good fandom etiquette, and this is the point of debates, after all: sharing different ideas and perspectives on the same topic. We usually end up agreeing on disagreeing and itâs all good in the end.
What were Sauronâs intentions and goals in stabbing Galadriel with Morgothâs crown in 2x08?Â
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/a60fe9316f70ed5805999a0ce93eeaca/7c079950a5902b7e-8a/s540x810/ccf389504d4de4bef17677781f96e3dafec6e4c2.jpg)
2x01 / 2x08 parallels: âOnly blood can bind.â (Adar; 1x05)
1) Binding/Enslaving Galadriel to his Will
Rey made the case for Sauronâs intention of possessing and dominating Galadriel using Morgothâs crown. And that we should focus on present intentions, and not lose yourselves in âwhat ifâ scenarios (with this I totally agree, so, let's focus on the present time).
This theory states that Sauron wanted to enslave Galadriel to his will, by having her handing over Nenya, in submission. This would explain why Galadriel seemed âbewitchedâ while removing Nenya from her finger, and almost surrendering it to him. Â
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/ea0f00b6487dd6af83562c99fd129d7f/7c079950a5902b7e-ad/s540x810/a1130bf4d8a1bb5e163b36eba150faa151a75d1e.webp)
This means Sauron has âoutgrownâ his intentions from 1x08, when he wanted to serve Galadriel (due to his Maia nature; he was created to be a servant to a Vala). Now, he wants full power, and heâs not willing to share it with anyone else (Galadriel included):
Sauron only wants to dominate/possess Galadriel now: she humiliated him when she refused him in 1x08, he developed an obsession for her, so he punished her with physical pain (the stabbing), and attempted to possess her so she would follow him.
And so, if blood binding theory is true, this would work like the Nine and the NazgĂ»l, with Galadriel not only being a servant, but a slave to Sauron. This theory can also imply she would have, indeed, become a Ringwraith herself, as her soul was entering the Unseen world (âShadow realmâ) when Gil-galad and Arondir found her.
This is a very strong theory, and I think many fellow fans share this view, as well. Would it pass Sauron to do something like this? Absolutely not, and it would not be OCC for him to have this intention, at all.
So whatâs my problem, you might ask?
This facial expression right here:
Unless Charlie was having a case of fatigue eyes due to extensive use of contact lenses (speaking from personal experience), thereâs no explanation for Sauron getting all teared up when he believed Galadriel was about to join him, if his intention was to enslave her to his will, and thatâs what he was doing here.
And no, Galadriel canât deceive him. This is underestimating Sauronâs power: heâs the âgreat deceiverâ, and only he can deceive himself, really. And if they are, indeed, blood bound, Galadriel couldnât possibly hide anything from him. And I already made the case for how Galadriel was about to join him, freely, in another post.
2) âYou bind me to the light, I bind you to powerâ
Speaking of Sauronâs intentions, we need to remember the creator of this character and what he says about him. Tolkien tells us (in Letters 131, 153 and 183) that âAnnatarâ still has âfair motivesâ: heâs a reformer who, truly, wants to rebuild/heal Middle-earth, and heâs genuine in this endeavor (nevermind his methods, thatâs why heâs a villain). Rey counter-argumented this does not translate in a desire to serve Galadriel, and sheâs correct.
However, what was his intention in 1x08? Â
And if Sauron still has a genuine concern in healing Middle-earth, what if his intention with Morgothâs crown was giving Galadriel his power, while harvesting her light for himself, just like he wanted in 1x08? And if this was his intention, why would he keep her soul âtrappedâ in the Unseen world? What if he wanted to make her queen of the Seen and Unseen world? Not a mere queen of Middle-earth, but as nearly as possible to a literal Goddess he could serve?
Because Sauron/Mairon canât escape his nature, he was created to be a servant, a Maia to a Vala. And, right now, he doesnât want to serve Morgoth. Even though he does it, unconsciously, and perhaps he recognized this after he killed Celebrimbor in a rage fit (something thatâs completely OCC for him, because thatâs not who he is; Sauron is a control freak, a mastermind).
This scene with Galadriel happened after that; and Sauron cried because, when he looked up at Celebrimbor, all he could see was Morgothâs bounds on him reaching the surface. And that chaotic destruction is Morgoth, not Sauron. And he doesn't want that at this point on his character arc in Tolkien lore. I think this is when Sauron makes the decision to bind himself to Galadriel, one way or the other.
I absolutely disagree with the idea that Sauron stabbed Galadriel to punish her or kill her: if that was his true intention he would have used Morgoth sword (he was already using it in his duel with Galadriel the entire time), not a powerful dark magic object infused with own blood (because Adar used it to destroy his previous physical form), nor he would have carried that thing around the entire time while mentioning "binding" twice (âI never believed I could be... Until today. Fighting at your side, I... I felt... If I could just hold on to that feeling, keep it with me always, bind it to my very being, then I...â (1x06); âThe door is still openâ).
âBindingâ (usually connected with âblood oathsâ) and âenslavingâ are two different kinds of blood magic. Because the Nine rings of power are pieces of jewelry meant to be worn by ring-bearers, with a small dosage of Sauronâs blood (along with other specific spells). Morgothâs crown not only has a lot of Sauronâs blood on it, but we also donât know what kind of dark magic it actually contains: we only know it was made to hold the Silmarils and it can destroy Sauronâs physical form (implying that, maybe, Sauron doesnât have much control over this object?).
Sauron accidentally sharing his power with Galadriel is nonsense to me, as well. He's ancient, has been around since before the world existed (he helped create that very world), has been a master in blood magic and every sort of sorcery for thousands of years, and heâs one of the most powerful Maia in existence, but isnât aware he would be giving Galadriel some of his power by binding himself to her? When he clearly mentions this in 1x08? "I bind you to power". Because Galadriel appears to be seeing the world in a whole new way in 2x08 epilogue (and even her eyes look off):
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/6c4e9de01bb4ff176f75b0bf895c4598/7c079950a5902b7e-1a/s540x810/767d323a39595080329701057b57bbe27875c0b3.jpg)
Besides, Galadriel is suppose to be a powerful sorceress of her own right in Tolkien lore, mastering several powers. In the legendarium Galadriel own power was amplified by Nenya, yes, but this isnât the case in âRings of Powerâ, because we havenât seen her displaying any magical powers in Season 1. She wonât have any other powers in the show (besides healing and foresight/visions), completely cutting off with Tolkien legendarium? If the show keeps it true to the lore on that bit, where did her powers (look into othersâ hearts and minds, and communicate telepathically) come from? Will they âmagicallyâ appear out of nowhere? When and how? But, if these powers came from Sauron itâs because he wanted it to happen, and that was his intention. And if that was his intention, what was his purpose with this if not to serve her?
And Sauron does share power: he does share his power with those he wants to enslave; via the rings of power. Thatâs why Celebrimbor tells him heâs their prisoner, and not their master. However, these are two very different kinds and degrees of magic. Because with the rings ("enslave") he can control how he wants it to go; while sharing his actual power with another living being ("blood oath") is uncontrollable. He canât possible know the end result of it.
I know thereâs a popular theory that Adar was blood bound to Sauron, but I donât think so. Adar not only doesn't have any magical powers, but he wouldnât be able to kill Sauron himself, if that was true. Blood binding is a blood oath, and itâs forever, unbreakable, and it prevents beings from harming or acting against one another (physically) in any direct way. Thatâs why âRings of Powerâ introduced the clue that Sauron might be blood bound to Morgoth in 1x03; and thatâs the reason he could never leave nor forsake his master even when he came to resent him.
This means, that, in "Rings of Power", Sauron, most likely, only has Morgoth as a reference to blood oaths. And he probably thinks this will go the same way with Galadriel, and heâll keep her light to himself, allowing him to keep Morgoth at bay. Only her âlightâ is merely aesthetic, really. The light that shines on her hair and eyes is the light of the Two Trees of Valinor, and it shines on every Elf that was born during the Years of the Trees (and not only her). Because Galadriel is a complex and nuanced character, and ticking bomb that can turn dark at any minute. Â

stancy + mlvn music coding
this is probably gonna be messy but i will try my hardest to keep it comprehensible
okay so recently i was rewatching the robin/vickie/vickie's bf scene in the gun store (4x08) because i felt like i'd heard the song that plays there before. it reminded me of the song that plays during this scene in 2x01
the song that plays in the s4 scene is actually 2 songs back to back, the first called 'Kids Two' (a variation of 'Kids" from the s1 sound track) and the second called 'Choices', originally from the s2 soundtrack. 'Choices' plays in the scene in 2x08 where dustin apologizes to lucas for lying about dart and suggests max take his place in the party and also says he felt the electricity between lucas and max-- and it leads into the scene where max and mike talk about el, and mike reminds max that she's still not in their party. i find that interesting because no one in that scene says choice, and no one in either scene is making a choice. that name does make sense for the s4 scene, because vickie is torn between her boyfriend and robin, clearly implying she must make a choice. 'Choices' is the song that sounded familiar to me.
the songs aren't exactly the same, but they are definitely similar and the one in s4 is likely an edited version of the one from the stancy scene.
those scenes are obviously parallels, steve sneaks up behind nancy and scares her and they kiss, just like vickie and her bf. then nancy/vickie look at jonathan/robin in a seemingly yearning way. love triangle stuff.
i always figured the song in the stancy scene was an original track from season 2. but turns out it isn't from s2, its from s1. its called 'First Kiss', and, you guessed it, it plays during mike and el's first kiss in 1x08.
i am not lying, go and watch the scenes.
after discovering this, i watched some more stancy scenes to listen for more similarities in the music. and i came across this scene from 1x05, where nancy almost hits steve with her bat and he apologizes to her over dismissing her concern over barb, and nancy gives him a kiss.
i went through the s1 tracklist and even tried shazam-ing the scene, but nothing turned up. i thought it sounded like 'First Kiss', but i wasn't sure if it was my own bias feeding into that. so i went to reddit, where all the people with way too much time on their hands hang out, and asked if anyone knew which ost was playing in that scene. this is what i got back
the reddit gurus agree with me.
as they said, first kiss also plays when mike and el make up in the hospital in 3x05. makes sense, since it's supposed to be their song.
i will also add that the stancy scene in 1x05 is immediately followed by the scene of joyce kicking lonnie out. that speaks for itself. AND, the mlvn scene in 3x05 cuts directly from el smiling at mike to a dead body. take that as you will
so lets recap
'First Kiss', or a section/version of it, has played during
1x05 steve apologizes to nancy 1x08 mike and el kiss 2x01 steve scares nancy and stancy kiss, nancy yearns over jonathan 3x05 mike and el make up via m&ms
2 stancy scenes and 2 mlvn scenes.
hm.
and 'Choices', which i strongly believe is derived from 'First Kiss', plays during
2x08 dustin apologizes to lucas and points out the electricity between lucas and max 2x08 mike and max talk about el 4x08 robin watches vickie and her boyfriend kiss
2 references to a love triangle (dustin,lucas,max & robin,vickie,dan)
and a nod towards mlvn involving max, who in the next season will come between mike and el's relationship.
HM.
im not sure if any of these besides 'Choices' play in s4, but once i do a rewatch i will let you guys know. im pretty sure they don't because i have a weirdly good memory when it comes to my hyperfixations so i think i'd remember it. like i knew the music from the stancy scene in 2x01 just from watching it like four different times since 2017.
all of this coupled with the countless times byler has had music parallels with jancy and lumax, i'm pretty sure this means byler endgame.
if anyone tries to say that it doesn't matter that they reused mike and el's first kiss song for a loveless relationship, i wholeheartedly disagree with you. they make songs that are specifically for one scene and are never played again. for example 'The First Lie', the song that played during jonathan and nancy's first kiss has only played during that scene. never again.
so if mlvn is what the fans say it is, the main couple, the epic love story of stranger things, why can't they just have a song to themselves? jonathan and nancy do. im sure they could've found another song that fit for the stancy/jancy scene in 2x01, knowing the implications it would give if they used it. but nope, they had to use 'First Kiss', which takes place an episode before the stancy scene. 1x08 -> 2x01
one more example, 'On The Bus' is from the s2 soundtrack. it plays once during s2, when lucas and max talk on top of the bus. it doesn't play at all in s3, and then randomly in 4x04, it plays during a byler scene. THAT. HAS. IMPLICATIONS.
take this however you'd like

I've been thinking about the two-headed snake from the beginning of the show, and the Law of Chekhov's Gun is telling me that it's going to be coming back and causing problems sooner or later. Thought/theories?
The soul switching spell is definitely one of the most interesting plot and thematic elements the show has introduced and it looms over most of the fandom's thoughts regularly, I think. So let's go over it:
Plot
Obviously the biggest question here is "did Viren use the soul fang serpent to successfully switch Harrow's soul with Pip?", which people have speculated for years with about the same information (s1-s2) until s5 recently kicked things up a notch in terms of like having something new to turn over. @kradogsrats has a great meta here in regards to what exactly we can glean from 5x02 and how it may re-contextualize what we already 'know'. I highly recommend giving it a read.
That said, two things are true to me regarding the "is Harrow in Pip" theory:
Something happened in that room
Harrow is not going to come back
With these in mind, it's important to note that we know that TDP develops its seasons in batches simultaneously. The team didn't go from s1 to s2 to s3, but instead developed all three around the same time. Obviously production and some stuff was going around in order, but the only decisions that have been noted as changing was 1) Callum and Rayla were decided upon being a couple when storyboarding 2x04 as it wasn't originally in the cards and 2) Ezran going back to Katolis at the end of S2 was a surprise.
I make note of this because season two is absolutely the last point in show where you could angle things so that a Harrow who survived in Pip could come back and it wouldn't be Fucking Weird, basically. This is for two reasons:
1) We spend a good chunk of the season worrying about what the boys will do when they find out and actively mourning Harrow, with only one episode (2x07) not touching on it at all. That is a lot of time to spend on a character death you're going to ultimately undo. Conversely, we get less episodes dedicated to Rayla's relationship with her parents (1x05, 3x03, 3x08) in the first arc because it is widely implied that she's going to get them back; no point seeing her heavily mourn them when that's going to get reneged.
2) Harrow coming back wouldn't have much of a plot or character standpoint on the bulk of the trio â Callum largely received his dad/family related closure back in S2 and it'd let Runaan off the hook, so his and Rayla's relationship would be easier, not harder â but it'd nuke Ezran from both an emotional and a plot standpoint. His main arc is intrinsic to being royalty of a prince-turned-king, pushing him to make more decisions and figure out how to manage the difficult road to peace.
If Harrow comes back, he'd either stay on as an advisor (but that'd still kinda take weight off Ezran's shoulders that's currently there and arguably should be) or step away, leaving his young son to shoulder it alone. The first lessens Ezran's emotional poignancy within the theme(s)/show, and the second makes Harrow like, a bad father in ways he absolutely never was in life.
As pointed out in Krads' meta, Viren is likewise surprised when he sees Harrow alive and well in his 5x02 dream, and we get this exchange:
While we could read Harrow's initial "Surprised to see me" (because if the show points something out in dialogue, they really want you to Know) as "surprised to see me [out of the bird]" the show itself quickly does away with that reading. Viren is surprised that Harrow's survived, period. That doesn't bode well for "Viren is 110% sure that he, himself, put Harrow 100% into that damn bird". But like I said, something had to have happened, and Viren's behaviour with Pip is real fucking weird otherwise if he didn't at least try for something.
[ Side note: I also think it's worth noting what, exactly, is happening in the initial stages of Viren's dream with Harrow. This is decidedly not real Harrow, but the Harrow Viren wished for: someone who would not only forgive him, but embrace his dark magic use (aka him) rather than reject it. Not only is Harrow here alive because of Viren, but this Harrow loves Viren for what he did, and accepts Viren's act of devotion not only as one of family, but reciprocates it: "You're not just a servant. You're my family. You're a brother."
And Viren, for his part, is giving the reasonings behind Harrow's refusal ("I was frightened" / "They were coming to kill you") on both ends, without actually addressing the dark magic elephant sized rift in the room, still citing that it was about circumstance rather than principle or perspective. Moving on. ]
Remember how I said S2 was the last possible point things could've been shifted to accommodate a "Harrow comes back in full" plotline (most likely)? Yeah, well the other side of that is that S2 is the last time the show could've accommodated a retcon of "Viren didn't do anything to Harrow, actually, at all" the way that fans have often implied, and it's largely because of this otherwise very unnecessary scene all the way in 2x09 (in which other changes, like Ezran turning to go home, and Rayllum's romantic route, had been more than well decided):
This to me is the singular biggest sign that something did happen, and it's something we will uncover in the future, because otherwise, there is literally No Reason to not have Pip in Katolis upon Ezran's return. If the writing team truly intended to fully nullify Viren and 'retcon' the Harrow-bird situation, keeping Pip in Katolis and having him interact visibly and non-life alteringly with Ezran was the way to do it. But Pip has been MIA since 2x09 and has not interacted with anyone other than Viren since 1x04, and so it remains a Mystery that, likewise, the 5x02 Harrow dream went to completely unnecessary stakes to remind you of Pip's existence in the first place.
Moreover, you simply do not have a main character who can Talk to Animals (a power that outside his connection with Zym has not been incredibly plot relevant in ways that couldn't otherwise be achieved since like... 1x08-1x09 itself) and then Remove an animal he could talk to unless you decidedly Do Not (or cannot) have that conversation happen yet.
Which reaffirms what I said earlier: we can be 100% sure that something happened, and we can be at least 95% sure that Harrow is not being fully brought back in order to not lose narrative weight to Viren and Runaan's responsibility in his death and in Ezran's series' long arc.
So what did happen?
One possible answer (that I've posited, of course there are many) is that Harrow's soul got split in two.
We've seen people be separated from what would let them 'go on' before (Sarai's last breath yelling no as her spear sinks into Avizandum's chest; the Moonshadow assassin troupe in TTM). This would allow for a part of Harrow to exist in his own body (since there's a hot second between the spell being over and when Runaan's binding falls, though that might just be linked to bodies > souls, but the Lotus flowers are clearly linked to souls, so...?) and for part to exist in Pip. Pip could offer a solace and goodbye, that part of Harrow ultimately needs to be freed (literally) and left to be at peace, which could be effective and tie in both Ezran and Callum's emotional needs about their father.
Of course, this is all speculation. Harrow could be brought back as an advisor after everything, helping but not telling Ezran how to rule because the new generation should pave the way; something else could've been put into Pip entirely that we just don't have the Star or Deep magic context for.
Thematically and symbolically though, I think a lot of the actual concept of "switch souls with somebody else" > actual Pip-Harrow plot line has been brought back somewhat in full already, so let's talk about it.
Theme / Symbolism
The switching spell is, textually, a warped collision of Callum and Claudia's brains, and we see it repeatedly echo throughout both their arcs from S1-S5:
Some of this is quick-paced and obvious, such as when Callum literally switches places later just this episode and says he's Ezran, preparing to die in Ezran's place. (This is one of the reasons Callum, Claudia, and Viren circle each other so closely in the series; not only are they our three primary mages; Viren and Harrow's rift happens indirectly on Viren's end, after all, because of Callum and Claudia's collision here.)
Some of this is more of a slowburn â Claudia, collapsing on the floor and clearly having done a number on herself to spare her brother; Rayla with Callum's scarf to make Sol Regem chase her instead; Callum, taking Finnegrin's deal that was originally to set himself free in hopes he'll let Rayla go â or taken onto the shoulders of other characters (Ezran and Viren's literal king exchange in 3x04) simply because the idea of Exchange is so intrinsic to the series and to dark magic use in particular. Sometimes transactional, sometimes selfless, occasionally necessary in the eye of the beholder.
However, in a more literal sense, it sets up the series' long association of dark magic with snakes, and all that comes with it (poison, losing your soul, knowledge, chains, etc):
When Callum does dark magic, he's crushing a snake's rattle tail, a literal warning sign. Claudia for the entire first arc has a literal (snake) chain on her wrist that she uses for dark magic. The fact that the series routinely uses Christian symbolism for its villains (Aaravos eating an apple, Viren dying and being resurrected, sacrificing your "only beloved son" etc etc) only heightens this more negative association.
We also get mentions from the Book 2 novelization that the true sight serum Viren uses to try to see the mirror is 1) inherited from Kpp'Ar, which never bodes well and 2) made from the venom of eyeless vipers under moonless nights by the Oracles of Ophidia, just to double down on the "snake shit obscures your sight with dark magic and madness" angle.
But at the end of the day, thus far, snakes are just a symbol.
The more interesting way the soul-switching spell has come full circle though, already, through the possession plotline. Case in point:
Aaravos sets up his pawns to suffer and take the fall for him in the past (Ziard) and present (Claudia). He's hidden within Viren's body before (3x07 siege of Lux Aurea). He takes this to be a more literal, threatening embodiment through his possession of Callum. His soul and will overtakes Callum's body. Callum asks to die so Aaravos can't use him; in this lens, Callum will be dying for not just Aaravos' mistakes, but Aaravos' choices. Aaravos will 'hide' inside Callum's body and enact his will through it, and it'll lead to bloodshed either of Callum or of Rayla (or both) inevitably while Aaravos, in S6, will presumably get off scot free. (To be clear, Callum's not going to die, but this is the idea/risk of the concept and one of the reasons why it's so terrible.)
Which makes sense, honestly. The soul switch spell is the first real dark magic spell we get to see the context for, as Ziard's 1x01 spell takes time (3x01) as well as the moral reservations against. It just makes sense that Aaravos, the 'originator' of dark magic for lack of a better understanding, would then take said spell to its natural conclusion in which case even the consent of the vessel isn't just violated, but completely terminated and disregarded. Because, y'know â dark magic is awful, and it always has been.

1x05 â Point of Origin thoughts
Oh my gosh. That was a memorable wedding reception⊠I hope they sued the owner.
The car wash worker getting stuck was absolutely hilarious! I lost it when Bobby started laughing. It was really nice to see him laughing considering how the rest of the ep wentâŠ
Bobbyâs past is harrowing. As I guessed, he lost his kids, as well as his wife, but I wasnât expecting it to be in such a tragedy.
Bobby really does highlight how pain management drug addictions can wreck a life. You think you have control of it, but really itâs got full control over you. From the outside looking in, no one probably had any clue he was struggling. Itâs gut wrenching the last thing he and his wife did was argue. And he was so close to getting back into the apartment. Iâve no idea whether theyâd be alive or not given how fast that building was going up and the amount of smoke but just the thought he was within reach⊠haunting.
I get the names in the book now. His penance before he goes. I hope he does fill that book because that means heâs saved people but I donât want anything to happen to Bobby at the same time. I really hope he finds a different purpose.
Bobbyâs not the only one with addictions issues this ep. Henâs ex is in the picture, albeit in prison. I donât like her. Iâm all for giving people second chances if theyâve earnt it but I donât think she has.
Buck and Abby finally meet face to face. Albeit not on a date but to hunt down her missing mother. That woman has turned into a right little escape artist. She managed to get pretty far. Iâm glad someone stopped to help her. I mean, she was wandering around in her nightdress.
I liked Buck and Abbyâs pool rescue. What the heck was Buck thinking attempt to get on his own floatie to rescue that kid though? Come on, silly boy. Iâm glad Abby was still engaging her brain.
This was a really good ep. An emotional one that had me crying but really, really good.Â

You asked what I was looking at before, right? When we, when we highfived? It was your hands. See, in an emergency situation, the body produces adrenaline. Keeps your mind focused, dulls any pain, makes you super strong. It's a normal human response. My first few calls, I was shaking like crazy for an hour after. Your hands, they never shook. I mean, you were like a full on Jedi. Well, I do have some experience with stress. Sure. But also, I feel calm around you.

also on that note 1x05 point of origin is so funny because imagine being in a stilted relationship with your fire captain because you don't really trust him because you don't know anything about him or his life and he's clearly reluctant to let you into it or tell you any personal details and then your fuckin 25yo horndog coworker sails in proud of himself that he didn't have sex with a girl or her ailing dementia-ridden mother. like PLEASE

Interested in hearing about the TL 1x05 Canon divergence fic if you have thoughts to share!
I do have thoughts and you are a darling for asking about them!
So, concept: Ted doesnât bench Jamie, Jamie goes on to score a hat trick, and Richmond wins the game⊠only no one but Jamie is feeling particularly good about it. The dressing room is subdued, but our precious prick couldnât care less, heâs being his very best (worst) arrogant self. Roy is fed up to the point where he, realizing that Ted isnât about to do anything, follows Jamie home and knocks on his door to have a very civil and polite word about what being part of a team means.
Predictably, the conversation quickly devolves into shoving and growling and â less predictably (to them, not to any reader) â it then takes a turn for the sexy and the messy when Roy realizes that Jamie isnât exclusively pissed off about being pushed against a wall. Not a particularly original set-up, granted, but itâs a classic for a reason, so.
This is basically pure kink, fulfilling all my enemy ship and sadist!Roy and bratty subs being taken down a peg needs (except that last bit might not quite work out in the way Roy imagines, and in the end thereâs some actual conversation and vague hints at vague Feelings because Iâm bad at not letting them be a little bit vulnerable too. At the end of the day my true kink is character studies, so a little bit it's that, but disguised as sparkling pornography).
This is the fic Iâve got the most stuff already written for and Iâm very excited about this idea, but itâs also the piece Iâm least confident about writing. Weâll see how it goes!
#thank you very much for indulging my incessant need to blather on and on about me fic <3#jamie tartt#roy kent#royjamie#asks
