SEWER_PARTY_RAMPAGE_199X (1h13m) - Rina playlist. Just Silly Crazy Girl Tunes. Some breakcore some weird stuffs but it is hard to describe I go for here... it's really a lot of things that spell out "Silly Woman Ahead" like that's it. if you listen you'll get it

It's a work in progress but it's one of my favorites so far (delusional). Bauhaus in this one was a must but there's also other goodies

Poppy Fields Where Lost Girls Go (1h51m) - Kuobakhaya playlist which is mostly very sad and about being high (which is definitely what she is most of the time, both of those). Laura Palmer's theme song is there which should tell you a lot about the character itself if you know the story behind that piece of music... anyway this one is a little sad. But I like it (the lenght backs this up)

i have even more than these but theyre works in progress enough that i dont wanna share em to the public Just Yet or they need to be updated/they're old/etc. One of the things I wanna do when im done being busy with school is do what my parents used to do which is actually make physical CD burns of my playlists with custom graphics etc... I'm not a musician but i like listening to music and like the idea of making graphics for compilations i like :-)

finished playing obra dinn! some tiny stuff on it. tl;dr macabre game, really enjoyed the experience of playing it, but the story leaves you wanting a bit more

(if you haven’t heard of it, it’s a murder mystery game where you have to work out what happened to everyone on a ship’s lightly cursed voyage. you get an audio clip of the moments before the death and a diorama of the death itself. then you have to work out who was killed in that scene and how, using a crew list, a drawing of the crew, and context clues - e.g. bunk assignments, what room the characters are in, who they’ve been with in previous memories, their clothes & appearance, what language they speak, accents... you’ll need a notebook.)

this game makes you feel so damn smart!! (i don’t have any other comments on the gameplay other than it’s super good). as a warning it's fairly macabre (witness ~50 gruesome deaths as still frames + audio, incl. a suicide in first chapter)

seems like there's at least a hint of an intentional Ignorant Asshole White Men Fucking Everything Up story in there (specifically, the british characters leading the ship)... and the fact that these characters don’t have much depth or (ultimately) agency is the point? you’re witnessing the results of a tragedy, where some of the people present were lower class or otherwise disenfranchised w/in the hierarchy of the crew. it’s fine that not all of the victims impact the plot. but e.g. (to pick one group) the only way you can tell who the chinese topmen are is by (minor spoiler) noticing that they all have different shoes, which you can match against their bunk numbers. but you’ll most likely find out who they are by inputting names at random, which................ doesn’t feel great? if it’s meant to make a statement about how ppl were treated on the ship, i don’t think the writing/framing really earns it (or i don’t think making the player complicit in acting it out does anything). good tiny review @ 1h2m here, more positive review of story here

also ngl when i got up to ~45/60 i just gave up and used a walkthrough bc i was tired of walking everywhere

apparently the outer wilds has some of the same appeal? if you want completely unrelated indie games that are a bit lighter i’d recommend a short hike and minit

Since I got somewhat rusty and unproductive because of the evil temptations of computer chair, I decided to spice things up by doing Inktober 2016 prompts. On all my active art blogs. Which means having to do 3 prompt-based drawing every day XD .

Quite productive day. So, I’m continuing to do the triple challenge. The first drawing was quite meh. One danger with challenges like Inktober is that one starts doing completely unambitious work just to pass a day. Which isn’t bad but sort of lame.

For second and third drawing, I’ve done preparatory sketches. Even drawn my actual face for third one (REDACTED).

After the debacle with my kindergarten photo yesterday, I started watching videos about capturing likeness in drawing.

I was watching a Love Life Drawing video where they drew Adam Driver. Decided to give it a shot too. Not sure if I succeeded.

I started using a tripod for the page photos since I was sick of my hands shaking.
