Some may hate me for this, but "Mulan" is a transman. And Shang is obviously gay. I get the whole bi argument, but that's only because disney didn't make it trans. Dem Bitches. Btw, never stop making the 'i can't believe i fell in love with a chick' memes. Love that shit.

I know that for many transmen, myself included, the movie Mulan was an awakening. However the ending was not satisfying to me, the sequel was okay, and I love the message that anyone can be a soldier and all that.

I read the twisted tale Reflection and it irked me even more. (All the twisted tales I've read are good so I suggest you check them out if you like reading and disney (or even not disney cause i found some of the ones i don't like in disney alright in these books)

Anyways, beautiful story, cute ending, but I feel like though it may be controversial that in addition maybe add trans into the mix. I felt the 'figuring out your reflection' and 'finding out who you are' but it's just not enough for me. 

I don't want to be that person, demanding representation and all that, but I still want some representation.

Also because I'm on the topic, all the original songs slap. And the transition from 'a girl worth fighting for' to after, chef's kiss.

The live action adaptation wasn't as bad as I thought originally, at the beginning it says that it's one version of the story and that redeems it.

The Disney executives are so stupid, if they kept in Li Shang and gave him a few longing glances at Mulan when he still thought she was a man, I am telling you the bisexuals would have seen that movie in droves

(Side note: This is a joke and in all seriousness, there were WAY bigger problems with that movie and if you want to know more about it, I highly recommend Xiran Jay Zhao's video on it, they do an excellent job of showing how the Disney writers did the bare minimum when it came to researching this movie while expecting praise for being woke.)
