So, tonight then Hijacked - Flight 285 from 1996. Cast: Susan Batten - Kim Paulsen James Brolin - Ron Showman Michael Gross - Ben Horner Anthony Michael Hall - Peter Cronin Perry King - Frank Leyton Casey Sander - Steve Paulsen Ally Sheedy - Deni Patton Barbara Stock - Veronica Mitchell and many more Story: Ruthless convicted murderer Peter Cronin (well played with lipsmacking wicked relish by Anthony Michael Hall) is being transported to prison on a commercial airliner. Trouble ensues when Cronin hijacks the plane and demands twenty million in bail bonds. It's up to FBI negotiator Deni Patton (a sturdy performance by Ally Sheedy) to keep things under control. Director Charles Correll, working from a compact script by David Peckinpah, keeps the enjoyable and engrossing story moving along at a snappy pace, generates a good deal of tension, and stages some exciting last reel action with skill and flair. The sound acting by the able cast helps a lot: Michael Gross as good-hearted disabled Vietnam veteran Ben Horner, Casey Sander as the brave Steve Paulsen, Barbara Stock as gutsy captain Veronica Mitchell, Perry King as hard-nosed fed Frank Layton, Hudson Leick as Cronin's loyal accomplice Shayna Loring, David Graf as an obnoxious cowardly drunk, and James Brolin as easygoing copilot Ron Showman. Moreover, Hall has a ball portraying a real evil and dangerous bad guy. Worth a watch. - by Woodyanders on IMDB (just corrected the name of Perry from Lang to King) Thoughts: We start with the preparations for the flight and introduction of all players in the game. They even had self made weapons in the 1990s. Never mind, with Cronin on board and escorted by two marshalls, the flight gets up to Dallas. After a short time, the two aides of him free him and hijack the plane. Cronin calls Layton at home and asks if he remembers him and surely he does. Cronin tells him what he's planned and therefore Layton calls Patton in to help since both have a history with Cronin and he knows them also well enough to know what they would do. Well, it takes a very long flight, some tricks from the passengers and pilot and a lot of convincing to get the man down, quite literally. Most of the passengers are just hurt and only one dead in the end. It's a good movie.

Have You Tried Vintage Jewelry Aesthetic?
Tumblr media
Vintage items may not be as valuable as antiques, but that does not make them less desirable or collectible. It's an intriguing period because, beginning in the 1940s, there was a worldwide rise in mass manufacturing, which directly impacted the sorts and quality of jewelry made at the time.
There are two broad meanings of vintage, which are sometimes used interchangeably (somewhat incorrectly). The first is that everything secondhand or previously used is considered vintage. This isn't always the case, though.
We choose to define antique in the broadest sense, which includes anything old but not necessarily ancient. As a result, everything made after 1920 can be classified as vintage, including retro jewelry.
Jewelry that is antique or vintage is constantly in demand. However, you can't go wrong with the exquisite craftsmanship of the past jewelers, whether it's for yourself or as a present.
As a rule, vintage jewelry is expertly crafted from fine metals and precious or semi-precious stones. Due to the difficulty of the crafting process and the cost of recruiting professional makers with the needed expertise to handle mixed metal jewelry, some of these pieces are rarely encountered in mass-produced jewelry today.
It's crucial to understand the distinctions between fine and costume jewelry. Fine jewelry, regardless of age or vintage, commands a higher price due to the nature of its construction. Examples are gold, silver, diamonds, natural pearls, and other precious jewels. Vintage costume jewelry, on the other hand, has its allure and appeal.
The "Vintage" aesthetic arose from the current replication of the 1970s and 1990s. The retro-style can be seen in various genres, including fashion, photography, and even furniture.
It's also an aesthetic that emphasizes individuality and distinction. Thrifting or wearing other people's old clothes has been a terrible rep in the past. It was seen as a financial shortfall. On the other hand, the idea of thrifting has grown in popularity during the previous decade. As the concept of sustainability and recycling became more popular, thrifting exploded. People began to appreciate the idea of re-purposing or re-wearing old clothes to save the environment.
The "vintage" look became increasingly defined as thrifting grew in popularity. Most people think of thrifted apparel when they think of outdated, oversized t-shirts with some rock band on them and faded-colored baggy jeans. That is precisely how vintage fashion is defined. Oval or circular sunglasses with red or yellow lenses and leather belts are antique accessories.
Jewelry is another manifestation of the "vintage" look. Specific characteristics can classify a piece of jewelry as "vintage." Subtle colors, such as mild pastels, are standard in vintage jewelry. However, they might be overexposed or bleached out. Warmer tones and colors are familiar in vintage jewelry, such as yellow, orange, and red. However, if there isn't an intense color or a warmer tone, the color scheme can become overly saturated and vivid.
Vintage is an umbrella term for aesthetics that evoke a specific period (or a combination of periods) in history. This article provides a quick review of aesthetics over the previous 120 years and some recommendations for more particular aesthetics that evoke each one.
Barbiecore, a spin-off of the antique aesthetic, is named after Mattel's fashion doll Barbie. Barbiecore is the sweet little sister of Bubblegum Bitch, who is more cynical and mature.
Lizzie McGuire and Hannah Montana, two "girly" 2000s television shows about middle-class American families, are also part of the aesthetic. These shows promoted female friendships, confidence, and girl power. LipSmacker and other goods designed for tweens and teens in the early 2000s are also part of the style.
This aesthetic includes imagery from a more affluent lifestyle, such as multiple cars, a private jet, a large house, numerous pets, including horses, and a yacht, as well as imagery from the Barbie toy line and movies, which includes multiple cars, a private jet, a large house, various pets, including horses, and a yacht.

Woohoo!! Just got these for my collection, the only Bonne Bell product left to get is the Nilla Mint Frost that goes with this collection and my Bonne Bell recollection is complete! I got these for Christmas (1999) when I was 10. I remember taking these to my aunt's NYE party with my parent and in the car I was listening to my Sugar Ray Hit Clips ("When It's Over" and "Someday") and my Britney Spears one (can't remember which, I was never a big fan. I'm still a big fan of Sugar Ray to this day though!!! My tastes have not changed in 25 years lol
