Elvis was in Las Vegas in December, 1975, making up for the season that was abruptly cancelled after just three nights during August.
This engagement ran from December 2nd through to the 15th, with a significantly less intense schedule; a total of 16 shows and just one show per night with the exception of the two Saturdays, the 6th and the 13th. This great quality soundboard is from the midnight show on Saturday the 13th.
The 'silver phoenix' was one example of a jumpsuit style used between 1974 and 76. The original design concept wasn't for a bird at all, as Gene Doucette, Bill Belew's design associate, recalled in an interview with The Guardian in 2010;
"…I remember once I was working on a bunch of ideas and Elvis was impatient so asked, through his assistant's assistant's assistant, could he see some samples. I was making a jungle-themed suit at this point – vines, serpents, elephants – so I sent him a sample that featured a zebra's head on it. I heard back, 'Elvis loves it, but wonders why you've made the feet on the bird so small'. I had no idea what they were talking about, until I realised that when you looked at the zebra upside down, it kind of did resemble a bird. What could I do, it's Elvis? I just widened the zebra's nose, changed its feet to ears and reworked the shape and it became a Phoenix. Then I hear back: 'Elvis loves them, can you do five more in different colours?'.."

Elvis played his final Las Vegas engagement in December 1976, but was booked to open a new showroom, the 5 000 seat Hilton Pavilion, in October 1977.

"I believe in Father Christmas" - Greg Lake
1975 Music: Greg Lake; lyric: Pete Sinfield
An entry in Let's Do It, my personal favourite singles from 1954-76.
Growing out of a "Christmassy" chord sequence, and interpolating bits of Prokofiev, Lake and Sinfield wrote a thoughtful, honest song.
Sinfield wrote from his experiences, the time when he was eight years old, came downstairs to see a decked tree, and figured that it was all a bit of a swizz.

Christmas is all about lying to the children, painting it as a season of unrestrained joy, peace and goodwill abundant. The song subverts that traditional message, by leaning into the picture postcard until it creases.
"I believe in Father Christmas" isn't an anti-religious song. No, it's a humanist song. Humanity may be able to build a better world, but nobody's going to do it for us. We must build that better world ourselves.

Gus Williams (October 10, 1953) is a retired basketball player most noted for his play with the Seattle SuperSonics, he played for the Golden State Warriors, Washington Bullets, and Atlanta Hawks.
He played high school basketball at Mount Vernon, where he was selected player of the year in 1971 by the New York State Sportswriters Association. He played college basketball at USC.
He was selected in the second round of the 1975 NBA draft by the Golden State Warriors and the first round of the 1975 ABA draft by the Spirits of St. Louis. He signed with the Warriors for the 1975–76 season and was named to the NBA All-Rookie Team. He played only two seasons with the Warriors and was allowed to leave as a free agent before the 1977–78 season, signing with the Seattle SuperSonics.
While with Seattle, he was twice selected to the NBA All-Star Game and was an All-NBA First Team (1982) and All-NBA Second Team (1980) selection. He, whose style of play earned him the nickname “the Wizard”, led the Sonics to the 1979 championship while averaging a team-high 28.6 points per game in the Finals. While in the prime of his career, he sat out the entire 1980–81 season due to a contract dispute. He played three more seasons with the Sonics after that. In 1984, he signed with the Washington Bullets. He finished his career with a 17.1 point-per-game scoring average in a career spanning 12 years (1975-87). In 2004 his #1 jersey was retired by the Sonics. In 2016 his jersey was retired by USC. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence #kappaalphapsi

My feeble attempt to fix T7S's wonky timeline.
Season 1: Late 1975-76. Disregard the Star Wars ep. And let's just say Eric turned fifteen and a half in the birthday ep, and Red lets him drive (he never got pulled over/addressed by the law in season 1, unlike Jay in T9S, so eh). They aged the gang down after season 1, but I'm trying to fix it.
Season 2: 1976. Disregard the Halloween ep.
Season 3: Late 1976-77.
Season 4: Early-mid 1977. Disregard the Christmas ep (edit: I always forget about that one).
Season 5: 1977-78.
Season 6: Late 1978-9.
Season 7: 1979. Disregard the Christmas ep, unless you want to disregard season 8 in its entirety. Then go right ahead. :)
Season 8: Late 1979.
*****
@hydesjackiespuddinpop, I rewrote this shit out (I need it to justify the date of my next ficlet).

Happy 65th Birthday Scottish Golfer Sandy Lyle born on on February 9th 1958.
Born Shrewsbury, England but considered Scottish, Lyle was one of Europe’s top golfers during the 1980s. He is one of the golfers credited with breaking American domination of golf on the world stage.
Lyle was introduced to golf as soon as he would walk. His father, Alex, was a teaching professional at Hawkstone Park GC and had his son playing with miniature clubs from the age of 3. Lyle had an outstanding amateur career culminating in victory in the English Amateur Stroke Play championship in 1975 and 1977. He also served on the Walker Cup squad twice.
He turned professional in 1977 and was nominated Rookie of the Year in his first full season a year later. His first professional victory was the 1978 Nigerian Open. As a player, Lyle is renowned for his cool temperament and focus. However, his form is not always consistent and tends to play either exceptionally well or exceptionally bad.
Lyle won his first Major, the Open, in 1985. Perhaps the highlight of his career was victory in the 1988 US Masters. He was the first non-American to win the event, a victory made sweeter because of the intense competition between America and Europe in all aspects of golf. Lyle has also played on 5 Ryder Cup squads and represented Scotland 3 times in the World Cup.
On a personal level, Lyle has an amiable character and is modest despite his success and stardom. He enjoys Chinese food and is somewhat of an expert. He is also a keen enthusiastic of motorbike scrambling. In 1989, Lyle’s form began to slump. His last victory was the Volvo Masters in 1992 and since then has quietly retired from the main tour.
On turning 50 in 2008 he played on the Champions Tour and the European Senior Tour winning his first tournament in 19 years when he captured his first European Senior Tour title at the 2011 ISPS Handa Senior World Championship, held in China.
Sandy was inducted to the World Golf Hall of Fame in May 2012, he now lives in Scotland with his wife Jolande and children Lonneke and Quintin
In 2014 Sandy won the World Hickory Open Championship, an open tournament for amateur or professional hickory golfers. Hickory golf is a variation of golf played with hickory-shafted golf clubs. Part of the attraction of playing with hickory clubs is that they reintroduce ‘feel’ to the golf shot. Proponents also claim that hickory golf allows golfers to play classic golf courses as they are meant to be played “I’m delighted to have won my fourth Major,” joked Sandy afterwards.
As a former winner I would have thought Sandy would get an invite to play in majors, but not so, last year in the run up to the 150th Open at St Andrews he was forced to retire injured commenting;
“When you’re pushing on the age that I am now, injuries are always sort of around the corner and you’ve just got to be careful what you do.”
Lyle’s withdrawal came after just one hole of the second round – a double-bogey six at the first.
Earlier in 2022 Sandy became the first Scottish golfer to play in 100 majors, a remarkable feat in itself, although Lyle was completely unaware that he created history. It came in his 41st appearance at Augusta National and the 1988 winner said after missing the cut for the eighth year in a row that next year will be his last.“I was not aware, no,” said Lyle when he was asked about his major milestone by The Scotsman after carding a second-round 76 for a 14-over total at the Georgia venue.
“No-one has ever mentioned it to me. Does that make me feel better? A little bit,” said the two-time major winner. “But I suppose that is pretty sporty and something I can tell my grandkids in years to come.” he added.
Sandy went on to say;
“I think probably next year might be the end of the Lyle attack on the golf course,I think my older son (Stuart) is coming out and a few of his buddies, and I think my younger son (James) is probably coming out, so we're going to be a full family, I think, so I think it will be the end of the day.
I think he will continue to play in invitations and the senior tour.

The Arkansas Razorbacks’ Road to the NCAA Championship
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/b10c667a2e42219100ce317dee5b9f9b/b53020b572211b98-36/s540x810/43c0150849b37fde25d726161802cadfde725e61.jpg)
The Arkansas Razorbacks men's basketball team is one of the most successful college programs in the United States. The team was established ahead of the 1923-1924 season, and over the course of more than 100 seasons, the team has amassed a record of 1801-1015, for a 64 percent win rate. The Razorbacks have been named conference champion 24 times and have won seven conference tournaments, in addition to six final four appearances and one victory at the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) tournament, better known as March Madness. Despite the team’s long and consistent track record of success, it took Arkansas seven decades to win its first NCAA championship.
The Razorbacks began competing in the Southwest Conference, and immediately established a reputation as one of the region's most talented programs. Arkansas went 17-11 and 21-5 in the team's first two seasons. Between 1925 and 1939 the program accrued a record of 231-65. The Razorbacks went 12-10 during the 1939-1940 season, the first time the program incurred double-digit losses, but would not experience a losing season until 1951-1952.
The program experienced several challenging seasons during the 1960s, but found new life under head coach Eddie Sutton, who joined the program for the 1974-1975 season. Sutton coached the team through 1985, and never experienced a losing season.
Coach Sutton's tenure coincided with several of the program's most successful seasons, including a 32-4 campaign in 1977-1978. The Razorbacks achieved the No. 1 national ranking for the first time that season, and finished the year at No. 5. Sutton led the team to nine consecutive NCAA tournament appearances, advancing to the national semifinals, a regional final, and three regional semifinals.
Following Sutton's departure, the program turned to head coach Nolan Richardson. Richardson's first season as head coach was disappointing. The Razorbacks went 12-16, the team's first losing season in 13 years, and did not achieve a national ranking at any point during the season. Richardson improved to 19-14 the following season and to 21-9 in 1987-1988.
Richardson made his March Madness debut in 1988. The Razorbacks were eliminated in the first round for the third time in the program's history. However, Richardson improved his team's tournament results each season. A 25-win Razorbacks team reached the second round the following year, and the 1989-1990 team became the second Arkansas squad to reach the Final Four. The team was ranked No. 2 in the nation all season, the program's highest year-end ranking ever.
Coach Richardson's regular season success peaked in 1990-1991, when the Razorbacks won 34 of 38 games played. The team was seeded first in the region for the NCAA tournament, but was upset in the regional final. Following a few minor setbacks, Richardson and the Razorbacks soared to new heights. The team went 31-3 during the 1993-1994 regular season for the best winning percentage in program history, and again was ranked No. 1 before finishing the season ranked No. 2 in the nation.
The Razorbacks were a top regional seed at the 1994 NCAA tournament. After progressing through the West bracket, Arkansas eliminated Arizona in the Final Four before surviving a 76-72 scare against Duke in the championship game, securing the university's first national championship. Richardson led the Razorbacks back to the NCAA championship game the following season, but Arkansas fell to UCLA by a score of 89-78. The program has made several tournament appearances since then, including two regional finals and a regional semifinal appearance from 2021 to 2023.

Glenn Resch Sets His NHL Standard Against The Kansas City Scouts
The Kansas City Scouts entered the National Hockey League (NHL) in the 1974-75 season alongside the Washington Capitals. Their debut was challenging, marked by a 6-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs at Maple Leaf Gardens. Goalie Michel Plasse faced an overwhelming 46 shots in that inaugural game.
Game Two: Scouts’ Offense Stalls Against Glenn Resch
In their second game, the Scouts took on the New York Islanders at Nassau County Coliseum. This time, Kansas City was the aggressor, putting up 36 shots on goal. Despite the offensive surge, Islanders goaltender Glenn "Chico" Resch was a wall, leading his team to another 6-2 victory.
Butch Deadmarsh opened the scoring for the Scouts at 8:06 in the first period, with assists from Dave Hudson and Chris Evans. However, the Islanders bounced back to end the period with a 3-1 lead, ultimately holding on for the win. Resch’s remarkable performance, a hallmark of his career, kept the Scouts from capitalizing on their opportunities.
Glenn Resch’s Standout 1974-75 NHL Season
Resch emerged as a dominant force in the 1974-75 NHL season. He achieved three shutouts during the regular season, never facing more than 21 shots in any of those games. He ended the season with an impressive .916 save percentage, but it was his playoff performance that cemented his reputation.
Playoff Heroics: Resch Shines for the Islanders
In the 1974-75 postseason, Resch played 12 games, recording a 2.17 goals-against average, one shutout, and a stellar .931 save percentage. His efforts led all goalies in save percentage for the playoffs.
The Islanders faced the Pittsburgh Penguins in the quarter-finals, with Resch starting all four wins. His standout performance came in Game Seven, where he secured a 1-0 shutout with 30 saves, and Ed Westfall scored the decisive goal late in the third period.
Despite Resch’s efforts, the Islanders were eliminated in the semi-finals, but his playoff stats solidified his reputation as a clutch goaltender.
Rookie Season: Resch Makes a Mark in 1975-76
Although Resch had played 25 regular-season games and 12 playoff games in 1974-75, he was still classified as a rookie in the 1975-76 season. That year, he posted a league-leading .928 save percentage, a 2.08 GAA, and seven shutouts. His outstanding performance earned him a runner-up finish for the Calder Trophy, losing out to teammate Bryan Trottier.
Resch’s Legacy
Glenn Resch’s early NHL performances were nothing short of extraordinary. His ability to perform under pressure and deliver key saves made him a cornerstone for the Islanders during the mid-1970s, setting the stage for a memorable career.

The Cleveland Cavaliers: A Journey of Resilience, Redemption, and Basketball Glory
The Cleveland Cavaliers are one of the most storied franchises in the NBA, a team that has captured the hearts of basketball fans with its resilience, perseverance, and eventual triumph. Known for enduring periods of struggle, the Cavaliers have also experienced incredible highs — most notably their 2016 NBA Championship, which brought the city of Cleveland its first major sports title in over five decades.
From their humble beginnings as an expansion team to becoming champions, the Cavaliers’ journey is one of transformation and redemption. In this blog, we’ll explore the history of the Cleveland Cavaliers, their defining moments, and the players who helped elevate the team to basketball glory.
The Early Years: Building a Franchise
The Cleveland Cavaliers were founded in 1970 as an NBA expansion team, joining the league alongside the Portland Trail Blazers and Buffalo Braves (now the Los Angeles Clippers). Like many expansion teams, the Cavaliers struggled during their early years, finishing with a league-worst 15–67 record in their inaugural season. Under the guidance of coach Bill Fitch, however, the team slowly began to develop, laying the foundation for future success.
In the early 1970s, the Cavaliers drafted players like Austin Carr, known as “Mr. Cavalier,” who became the team’s first star and a symbol of hope for Cleveland basketball fans. Carr, along with other talents like Bingo Smith and Jim Chones, helped the Cavaliers secure their first playoff appearance in the 1975–76 season. That year, the Cavaliers reached the Eastern Conference Finals, losing in a dramatic seven-game series to the Boston Celtics. It was a season that gave fans a glimpse of what the future could hold.
The Arrival of LeBron James: A New Era Begins
Despite sporadic success in the 1980s and 1990s, the Cavaliers remained a mid-tier team, often falling short in the playoffs or struggling to stay competitive. That all changed in 2003 when the Cavaliers secured the №1 overall pick in the NBA Draft and selected a local high school phenom from Akron, Ohio — LeBron James.
LeBron’s arrival marked the beginning of a new era for the Cavaliers. Touted as “The Chosen One” and hailed as the future of the NBA, James quickly lived up to the hype. He led the Cavaliers to the playoffs in just his third season, and by 2007, he had guided the team to its first-ever NBA Finals appearance. Despite being swept by the San Antonio Spurs, the Cavaliers had arrived on the national stage, and LeBron’s status as a generational talent was undeniable.
LeBron’s ability to dominate the game, both as a scorer and a playmaker, brought excitement and hope to Cleveland fans. However, the team struggled to surround him with the necessary pieces to contend for a championship, leading to frustration. In 2010, after years of playoff disappointments, LeBron made the decision to leave Cleveland in free agency, joining the Miami Heat in what would become one of the most controversial decisions in sports history — known as “The Decision.”
The Post-LeBron Era: A Time of Uncertainty
LeBron’s departure in 2010 sent shockwaves through Cleveland. The Cavaliers went from title contenders to lottery dwellers almost overnight. The team struggled for four seasons, enduring losing records and rebuilding attempts that failed to regain their competitive edge. Despite landing top draft picks like Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson, the Cavaliers remained far from contention.
However, during this time, Irving developed into a star point guard and became the new face of the franchise. His ball-handling wizardry, clutch shooting, and scoring ability offered a glimmer of hope for the future. The team’s fortunes were about to change again, in a way that no one in Cleveland could have predicted.
The Return of LeBron James: Championship Aspirations
In the summer of 2014, LeBron James made a historic decision — he was coming home. In a heartfelt essay published in Sports Illustrated, LeBron announced that he would return to Cleveland to finish what he started. His return reignited hope in the city and immediately made the Cavaliers title contenders once again.
With LeBron back in the fold, the Cavaliers assembled a championship-caliber roster, trading for All-Star forward Kevin Love to create a “Big Three” alongside James and Kyrie Irving. Under the leadership of head coach David Blatt (and later Tyronn Lue), the Cavaliers returned to the playoffs with a vengeance.
In the 2014–2015 season, LeBron led the Cavaliers to the NBA Finals, but injuries to key players Irving and Love hampered the team’s chances, and they ultimately lost to the Golden State Warriors. Undeterred, the Cavaliers regrouped and came back stronger in 2016.
The 2016 NBA Championship: Cleveland’s Redemption
The 2015–2016 season was one for the ages. The Cavaliers, led by LeBron, Kyrie, and Kevin Love, stormed through the regular season and entered the playoffs as one of the favorites to win it all. After cruising through the Eastern Conference, they found themselves in the NBA Finals once again, facing the defending champion Golden State Warriors, who had set a league record with 73 wins in the regular season.
The Cavaliers fell behind 3–1 in the series, and all hope seemed lost. No team in NBA history had ever come back from a 3–1 deficit in the Finals. But LeBron James was determined to change that. With a series of legendary performances, including back-to-back 41-point games in Games 5 and 6, LeBron willed the Cavaliers back into the series.
Game 7 in Oakland became one of the most iconic moments in NBA history. With the game tied late in the fourth quarter, LeBron made one of the most memorable plays in Finals history — “The Block”, a chase-down rejection of Andre Iguodala’s layup attempt that preserved the tie. Moments later, Kyrie Irving hit the game-winning three-pointer over Stephen Curry, and the Cavaliers completed the unthinkable, winning 93–89.
The victory ended Cleveland’s 52-year championship drought and delivered the city’s first major sports title since 1964. LeBron, who was named Finals MVP, fulfilled his promise to bring a championship to Cleveland, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest players in NBA history.
The Post-Championship Era: LeBron’s Second Departure and a New Chapter
After winning the 2016 title, the Cavaliers remained contenders, reaching the NBA Finals in both 2017 and 2018 but falling to the Warriors in each series. In 2018, after four consecutive Finals appearances and another Herculean effort in a losing cause, LeBron James once again left Cleveland, this time signing with the Los Angeles Lakers.
LeBron’s second departure ushered in another rebuilding phase for the Cavaliers. The team shifted its focus to developing young talent, including promising players like Collin Sexton, Darius Garland, and Evan Mobley. While they haven’t yet returned to championship contention, the Cavaliers have begun to build a foundation for the future, with hopes of returning to prominence.
A Legacy of Resilience and Redemption
The Cleveland Cavaliers’ journey is one of perseverance and transformation. From the struggles of their early years to the heartbreak of LeBron’s first departure, the team has consistently fought through adversity. Their triumph in 2016 not only delivered a long-awaited championship but also symbolized the resilience of the city of Cleveland itself.
As the Cavaliers continue to rebuild, the legacy of their 2016 victory serves as a reminder of what’s possible. With a young, talented roster and a fanbase that remains as passionate as ever, the future of the Cavaliers holds promise.
Whether as underdogs, champions, or rebuilding hopefuls, the Cleveland Cavaliers have left an indelible mark on the NBA, and their story is far from over.

Sanford and Son aired (January 14, 1972 - March 25, 1977). It was based on the British sitcom Steptoe and Son, which aired in the UK (1962-74).
Known for its racial humor, running gags, and catchphrases, the series was adapted by Norman Lear and considered the response to CBS’ All in the Family. Sanford and Son have been hailed as the precursor to many other Black American sitcoms. It was a hit through its six-season run, finishing in the Nielsen top ten five times.
The series follows Fred G. Sanford, known for his bigotry and cantankerousness, and Lamont Sanford, his long-suffering, conscientious, peacemaker son. Both characters are occasionally involved in get-rich-quick schemes to pay off their various debts.
The show includes characters Aunt Esther, Grady Wilson, Bubba Bexley, and Rollo Lawson.
Sanford and Son stars Redd Foxx as Fred G. Sanford, a widower and junk dealer living at 9114 South Central Avenue in the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, and Demond Wilson as his son Lamont Sanford. In the show, Fred moved to South Central Los Angeles from his hometown St. Louis during his youth.
Sanford and Son peaked at #2 in the Nielsen ratings (1972–73) season and (1974–75). Sanford and Son’s lead-in helped the entire NBC Friday night lineup place in the coveted bracket of the Top 15 shows. The show’s ratings dipped substantially in its final season, though it was still quite popular at the time of its cancellation. In 2007, Time magazine included the show on its list of the “100 Best TV Shows of All Time”.
After the series was canceled in 1977, a short-lived continuation featuring the supporting characters titled Sanford Arms aired. Whitman Mayo starred in a short-lived spin-off series, Grady (1975–76).
In 1980–1981, Foxx attempted to revive the show with another short-lived series titled Sanford, but Demond Wilson refused to reprise his role as Lamont Sanford. #africanhistory365 #africanexellence

Arrivals & Departures . 09 July 1947 – 10 April 2024 . Orenthal James Simpson
Orenthal James Simpson was an American football player, actor, and broadcaster. He played in the National Football League (NFL) for 11 seasons, primarily with the Buffalo Bills, and is regarded as one of the greatest running backs of all time. Once a popular figure with the American public, Simpson's professional success was later overshadowed by his trial and controversial acquittal for the murders of his former wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ron Goldman in 1994.
Simpson played college football for the USC Trojans, where he won the Heisman Trophy as a senior, and was selected first overall by the Bills in the 1969 NFL/AFL draft. During his nine seasons with the Bills, Simpson received five consecutive Pro Bowl and first-team All-Pro selections from 1972 to 1976. He also led the league in rushing yards four times, in rushing touchdowns twice, and in points scored in 1975. In 1973, he became the first NFL player to rush for more than 2,000 yards in a season, earning him NFL Most Valuable Player (MVP), and is the only NFL player to do so in a 14-game regular season. Simpson holds the record for the single-season yards-per-game average at 143.1. After retiring with the San Francisco 49ers in 1979, Simpson pursued an acting and broadcasting career. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1983 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1985.
In June 1994, Simpson was arrested and charged with the murders of Brown and Goldman. He was acquitted in a lengthy and internationally publicized trial, but found liable for the deaths three years later in a civil suit from the victims' families. Prior to his death, Simpson had paid little of the $33.5 million judgment (equivalent to $64 million in 2023).
In 2007, Simpson was arrested in Las Vegas, Nevada, and charged with armed robbery and kidnapping. In 2008, he was convicted and sentenced to 33 years' imprisonment, with a minimum of nine years without parole. He served his sentence at the Lovelock Correctional Center in rural Nevada. He was granted parole in July 2017, released from prison in October, and granted early release from his parole in December 2021 by the Nevada Division of Parole and Probation. He died from prostate cancer in April 2024, at the age of 76.

Chevy Chase, Fellow ‘National Lampoon’s Vacation’ Stars to Attend FAN EXPO Philadelphia
The Griswold family may not have been able to enjoy Walley World as planned (spoiler alert!) but the stars of National Lampoon’s Vacation are set to have a great time greeting fans, posing for photo ops, signing autographs and conducting interactive Q&As at FAN EXPO Philadelphia, set for May 3-5 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Chevy Chase (“Clark”), Beverly D’Angelo (“Ellen”), Randy Quaid (“Cousin Eddie”) and Dana Barron (“Audrey”) will make their new “family” trip to Center City Philadelphia a memorable one for fans of the 1983 hit and its sequels.
Chase transitioned from a writer to one of the breakout on-camera stars on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” in its first season in 1975-76, moving on to films like Caddyshack and Foul Play before the original Vacation, Fletch (1985) and National Lampoon’s European Vacation (1985) and Three Amigos (1986) made him one of the most prolific leads of the 1980s. He continued that success into the next decade with several new iterations of the Vacation franchise as well as family films like Man of the House and Snow Day. Chase also found new audiences with a run as a regular on the series “Community.”
D’Angelo has more than 130 film and TV roles on her resume, including Vacation and three sequels. She had starring and co-starring parts in The Miracle (1991), Eye for an Eye (1996) American History X (1998) and many others, and dozens of TV movies and guest appearances on hit shows like “Frazier,” “The Simpsons” and “Cougar Town” as well as a six-season recurring run on “Entourage.”
Quaid first gained notice for a co-starring role opposite Jack Nicholson in the 1973 light comedy-drama The Last Detail. In addition to the “Cousin Eddie” turns in Vacation, Christmas Vacation and Vegas Vacation and Amish bowler “Ishmael” alongside Woody Harrison and Bill Murray in Kingpin, Quaid has had supporting roles in such favorites as Independence Day and Brokeback Mountain. He won a Golden Globe Award and Peabody Award for his portrayal of President Lyndon Johnson in the TV Movie LBJ: The Early Years and has been nominated for Oscar, Emmy and BAFTA Awards.
Barron portrayed Griswald daughter “Audrey” in both the original Vacation and Christmas Vacation 2: Cousin Eddie's Island Adventure, among more than 40 credits. She had a three-year supporting role in the adventure series “Crossbow” and played “Nikki Witt” in the original “Beverly Hills, 90210” as well as guest spots on “Murder, She Wrote,” “Babylon 5” and “Dream On.”
The four add heft to an already top-level FAN EXPO Philadelphia roster that includes Hayden Christensen (Star Wars franchise), Rosario Dawson (“Ahsoka,” Rent), Rainn Wilson (“The Office,” “Lessons in Chemistry”), Marisa Tomei (My Cousin Vinny, The Wrestler), Adam Savage (“MythBusters”), Danny Trejo (Machete, The Book of Boba Fett), Morena Baccarin (Deadpool, “Gotham”), Alan Tudyk (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,”), Mario Lopez (“Saved by the Bell,” “Access Hollywood”), Ben McKenzie (“Gotham,” “The O.C.”), Joonas Suotamo (The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, Solo and more), Kate Mulgrew (“Star Trek: Voyager,” “Orange is the New Black”), Rose McGowan (“Charmed,” Scream), Holly Marie Combs (“Charmed,” “Picket Fences”), Felicia Day (“The Guild,” “Dragon Age: Redemption”), Emily Swallow and Gina Carano (“The Mandalorian”), and more.
FAN EXPO Philadelphia will also feature a variety of comics creators who have written and drawn many favorite stories over the past half century, exhibitors featuring classic and unique pieces from the thousands of memorable characters and scenes that Star Wars and all of its offshoots have produced, and programming panels and special events to help fans across any empire show their love of one of pop culture’s most enduring series.
Single-Day Tickets, Three-Day Passes, Ultimate Fan and VIP Packages for FAN EXPO Philadelphia are available now. Advance pricing is available until April 18. More guest news will be released in the following weeks, including line-up reveals for additional headline celebrities, comic creator guests, voice actors and cosplayers.
Philadelphia is the eighth event on the 2024 FAN EXPO HQ calendar; the full schedule is available at fanexpohq.com/home/events/.
