It must have been pure bliss to break free from the traditional norms of acceptable attire in the 1940s, don't you think? For centuries Western socities insisted that women were only skirts & dresses, and long, often cumbersome and uncomfortable ones at that. Leave it to a national state of emergency, ie, war, to initiate change when women were called upon to fill manufacturing jobs of men to keep a nation running. First serving as utility, then morphing into a freeing fashion statement, pants sets from the 1940s are quite hard to find. What a beautiful experience! I don’t get out much these days, but when I do it’s for the love of the historical process of wet plate portrait photography. It was a real pleasure to see fellow Collodion comrade @ryanstander amazing art exhibition @artmuseumminot 🖤 I removed my mask 😷 for my portrait taken at the museum. Ryan’s portrait of me completes my collection in my home state. In each portrait I’ve had taken I’m wearing a custom handmade piece of jewelry by the wonderful @unnamedheir 🌟 and in each one I I am also wearing an authentic vintage or antique hat 🎩.
