right from the start we have everything with Renga and Liguang and Kiba… and MC's cousin is a world famous figure skater… and the seemingly unsuspecting guy is… a secret agent or spy or something? the 20 year old genius CEO is the most normal character in the morning group and things just keep getting weirder from then on

Designs of Happiness - Track A02
L4mps Main Story Translation
Title: Night Office
Characters: Daniel, Yodaka
Summary: Daniel brings the protagonist to a certain bar, where they meet a cheerful bartender and the sleepy owner…
Please note, I use Momiji, the female Hamasaki sibling, as the speaker for my stories. Kaede is the male sibling. In this chapter there are some different reactions from characters depending on the player character's gender, I'll have them noted separately.
JP Proofreading: aca @463ce6 on twt EN Proofreading: jes @arcanecrayonn on twt
Location: “Ten Nights of Dreams” BAR
Momiji: Oh?
Momiji: There’s something on the ground… A flower?
Momiji: I wonder if it fell out of someone’s bouquet… It’s so pretty… And it’s still fresh too. I wonder what kind of flower this is…
Daniel: Oi Chief! What’re you spacing out in the middle of the road for?
Momiji: Sorry! I just went to pick this up.
Daniel: A flower, huh. Can’t believe folks would drop somethin’ as nice as this.
Daniel: So, what’re you gonna do with it?
Momiji: I can’t just leave it like this to wither away. I’d like to put it in a vase or something…
Daniel: Then it’s a good thing we’re here.
Momiji: What do you mean by that?
Daniel: C’mon, let’s go.
Daniel: Heey~
Momiji: “Ten Nights of Dreams” huh… The bar gives a really nice vibe, it’s quiet and relaxing.
Momiji: They’ve put a lot of thought into the furnishing… Are these all vintage pieces? –Ah.
Momiji: There’s a vase with a beautiful floral arrangement…
Chouun: Welcome. Customers have arrived.
Employee: Ah, sorry~ We’re still in the middle of prepping~
Employee: Huh? Oh, it’s just Hiroshi.
Daniel: Yo!
Momiji: Huh… Daniel did say he knew the owner here, I should’ve known it’s because he’s a regular.
Momiji: Does that mean this cheery and handsome fellow is the owner?
Daniel: The last time I was here, you told me I shoulda come in earlier, so here I am. Before opening hours, even.
Employee: Are you for real? You know that’s not what I meant. I became a bartender so I could get with some hot chicks, NOT a bulky dude like you.
Daniel: Hey, I’m the one who’s got complaints! You always lead the women away to some lone corner; might as well get a neon sign that says you’re feeling horny.
Daniel and the employee: Ha!
Employee: With that outta the way, comin’ in hot with a Tequila Boom Boom*!
Daniel: Hitting me with the shots already?
Employee: Here you go~ You can even down the whole bottle if you want!
Momiji: Looks like they get along real well, but-
Momiji: We’re still on the clock, Manager.
Daniel: Whaat~? Drinkin’s part of the job, really.
Momiji: Nope. That’s definitely not part of the job description.
Employee: Aha! Who’s your friend? Momiji: You can call me Hamasaki. Please don’t mind my presence here.
If player character is female: Employee: Hey there~ We’ve met before, on Mars, right? Momiji: Um? Employee: It’s alright~ Let’s leave the past behind and have a do-over. This time, on Earth~ Daniel: Hit on her all you want, but remember she’s MY subordinate. Employee: Tch, the watchdog’s got a little too much muscle on him.
If player character is male: Daniel: So he says. Ain’t worth bringing to a bar, this one. Employee: You’re the one who decided to bring a dude along… Doesn’t even seem like he knows how to loosen up. Kaede: Um, is there anything wrong with me being a guy? Employee: Not really… A customer’s a customer after all, you’re more than welcome. I just don’t want this place to get any more musty with all the men y’know~? Kaede: Do I smell or something…
Daniel: Right, almost forgot, this fella’s name is-
Yunyun: It’s Yunyun~ Nice to meetcha.
Daniel: Yun…? Really? That’s what you’re going with? Not like I care.
Momiji: Yu-Yunyun-san… It’s nice to meet you too.
Yunyun: Let’s get along yeah~
Daniel: So, where’s your boss?
Momiji: Huh, Yunyun-san isn’t the owner?
Yunyun: Ew~ Don’t lump me in with Yodaka-san. Our owner’s the one lounging over there.
Owner?: *soft snoring*
Momiji: I didn’t notice earlier, but there’s actually someone sleeping on the sofa…?
Daniel: It’s time for your first mission, Chief. Operation: Rouse the Barkeeper.
Momiji: Wha- why me?? You actually know the guy, shouldn’t you do it?
Daniel: I’m gonna go have a drink first, good luck.
Momiji: …..
Momiji: Well, it shouldn’t be that big of a deal anyways.
Owner: …..
Momiji: He’s sleeping quite soundly… I wonder if shaking his shoulder would be enough to wake him up…
Momiji: Um, excuse me…
Owner: *quiet mumbling*
Momiji: Is he… sleep talking?
Momiji: I can’t hear him, I should lean in closer…
Owner: A bit more…
Owner: Open your mouth… a little wider… Make sure not to spill… even a drop…
Momiji: !?
Momiji: P-Please wake up! Right now! I get the feeling that I shouldn’t let this go any further…!
Owner: Good… job…
Owner: …Ahh, you’ve gotten so much better at this…. before I’d even realized…
Momiji: Aaahhhhh…!!
Yunyun: Back already?
Momiji: Sorry. It seemed like he was really enjoying his dream, it didn’t feel right to disturb him.
Daniel: What kinda dream was he having that’s got your face all red?
Momiji: It’s not red. It’s just the lighting.
Yunyun: Hiroshi~ You shouldn’t bully your juniors like that.
Momiji: Seriously.
Yunyun: Ahaha! So, what’s that about Flower Laundry again?
Daniel: We’ve got some business with the store owner. Didn’t get to meet him though.
Yunyun: Flow-Laun’s that weird store that’s both a flower shop and a laundromat in one right? He’s probably got double the deliveries to do, so it’s easy to miss him.
Momiji: He’s got a point… In fact, just earlier-
~~~~~(Flashback)
Sonia: Welcome~
Momiji: Aw, what a cute pet robot. Though it’s no longer rare to find one helping out or watching over stores while their owners are out.
Momiji: I’d love to set one up at our company but… Shuumai would probably get jealous.
Momiji: Is Nagi Hachinoya-san here right now?
Sonia: Nagi-shan is out on delivery right now. There were orders for both bouquets and laundry, sho he’ll be out all day.
Sonia: Not to mention… Nagi-shan has a tendency to attract trouble, sho I never know when he’ll be back… I’m sorry that I can’t give you a clear answer.
~~~~~(end flashback)
Owner: What do you need him for?
Momiji: Huh- wha!?
Owner: Oh, it seems I’ve startled you.
Momiji: I-It’s because you talked right into my ear all of a sudden…!
Daniel: Be careful around that guy, he’s famous around these parts for being a walking “Libido Switchman”.
Momiji: A what-
Owner: Oh please, that was a long time ago.
Momiji: Are you sure? Because your sleep-talking earlier would say otherwise…
Owner: Was I sleep-talking? I did have a dream about sharing popsicles with a friend… I remember the flavors, orange and pineapple.
Momiji: Talk about misleading…!
Yunyun: Mornin’ Boss~
Owner: Mm, good morning. –Chouun.
Chouun: Yes.
Owner: If you could please play some music that would suit tonight’s atmosphere
Chouun: … Understood. The playlist I have selected is themed after “Nostalgia”.
Momiji: This pet robot has a music player function huh… Its star lamp emanates a gentle glow, it’s so pretty…
Owner: The little one.
Momiji: Huh?
Owner: Would you like to place it in this vase? I think it needs the water.
Momiji: Oh, were you talking about this flower?
Owner: Yes. I just thought it was a little sad to see it drooping all on its lonesome.
Momiji: Thank you, I'd been holding onto it because I meant to give it some water.
Momiji: I’ll take you up on the offer.
Owner: …..
Momiji: Erm…?
Owner: ……….
Momiji: I wonder why he’s staring at me so intently for…
Yodaka: Have we… met somewhere before?
If player character is female: Momiji: H-He’s way too close…! Momiji: No, um, I’m pretty sure this is our first time meeting…! Owner: I have a hard time believing that. Those eyes… I’m sure I remember seeing them before… Yunyun: Ah, I already used that line, so.
If player character is male: Kaede: I don’t think so… This should be our first time meeting. Owner: Are you sure? Kaede: Probably…? Also, um… isn’t your face too close… Owner: It is, yes.
Owner: I see… Oh well.
Owner: How about their order?
Yunyun: They haven't ordered yet~
Daniel: Oh right, that slipped my mind.
Daniel: Chief, your drink’s on me so get yourself one too. Yodaka’s cocktails are outta this world.
Momiji: Wow, it must be really amazing to get a stingy person like you to treat me. I’m really curious, but I’ll have to refuse. We’re still on the clock.
Owner: In that case, you can try a mocktail instead.
Momiji: A mocktail?
Owner: It’s a non-alcoholic cocktail. Please wait a moment while I make it.
Notes:
Ten Nights of Dreams (Yumejyuuya) is in reference to Natsume Soseki’s work of the same name, and is important to Yodaka’s character background. (I'd recommend reading about it after L4mps main story -> Yodaka's novel)
Tequila Boom Boom is probably in reference to this Japanese commercial on Sauza Cooler that aired in 2017, featuring Shota Matsuda.

[18Trip] Toi Shiramitsu Mayor Novel "The Day I Became an Angel" Chapter 1 | The Ritual Room
Part 1 | Part 2
*Before you choose to continue, please note that the novels contain major spoilers for the main story of the game, and it is recommended that you only read them once you have finished the main story!
There’s a ritual that Grandfather told me about, one that the heads of the Shiramitsu family have passed down for generations.
It’s a mandatory process in order to be blessed with the powers of an angel, apparently.
Subsequently, I was determined to try my hardest. Once the 9 day long ritual ended, they said that an angel—Oshisha-sama—would settle within my body. I told myself without a shadow of doubt, that I would make it through.
“Ah…aah…uhgg…”
When they first locked me away, I felt scared, panicked, I called out for my brother to save me, and wept for hours. When I no longer had the strength to even cry, I finally began to feel a semblance of peace. I was cold, tired and starved, but I promised myself I would persist. At times, I couldn't hold back the strange groaning sounds that slipped out. And yet, and yet…
“Uu…aah…”
The mucous membranes in my parched throat dried out, making it painful to even draw a breath. I was so thirsty that spots began to fill my vision.
I told myself to keep going.
“Aah…”
My fingers, devoid of nearly all their strength, clawed at the ground. There was a strange design painted across the floor. Mother said it was a summoning circle that would bring forth Oshisha-sama.
I scratched at the circle, almost as if I were tracing the lines.
In order to earn Oshisha-sama's favour, it is imperative that one must be near death. Oshisha-sama won’t come otherwise, they say.
“Does...Oshisha-sama like it when...people are on their deathbed…?”
My voice was hoarse. It didn’t sound like it belonged to me. It reminded me of the wailing ghosts I saw around town, the ones that had suffered miserable deaths.
I thought it was a little strange that Oshisha-sama liked people on the drink of death. He is an angel, after all. I had always imagined angels as beings that saved those in need.
“Ah, ah…aah…”
Even so, Oshisha-sama was going to save me from this pain. He and I would form a bond and then…and then…uhm…?
My head was screaming. I struggled to form a coherent thought. I was trying my hardest not to fall asleep, but my consciousness began to slip away from me. My body was trying to make me rest, but I couldn't. It was the one thing I couldn't let happen.
I leaned against the wall in an attempt to keep myself awake but with no strength left in my frail neck, my head slumped backwards.
My eyes landed on the sole tiny window in my cell, the only thing that allowed light to seep through.
The dark, cloudy sky beyond it seemed to go on forever.
“...”
They say that the family my brother and I were born into—the Shiramitsu family—have been possessed by angels for generations.
Many of their children showed a sense for the paranormal and possessed clairvoyance, psychic abilities and a talent for divination…they used these powers to provide aid to others and steadily amassed a following of believers. Mother and Grandfather say that our family is famed within those areas.
“It is the duty of the Shiramitsu family…to help people.”
Just as they had told me, I too had psychic abilities. I could see ghosts and phantoms and even speak with them if they were open to it.
Ani-sama doesn’t have any psychic power…I must have hogged it all to myself while we were in Mother’s tummy.
Instead, all the masculinity and coolness that I lack went to him. Ani-sama has always been my very own shining hero…
“...”
My thoughts were a scattered mess and it began to feel like I may never again be the way I once was.
Maybe I really had been just a step away from reaching my limit. I could feel unconsciousness creeping up the longer I remained in that state. Grandfather warned me not to fall asleep, but what fate would I meet if I happened to faint?
Would I become a failure if I lost consciousness? Would they be mad at me?
No, no, I’m not afraid of anyone being upset with me. What scares me is failing and not being able to become a source of help for everyone.
I have to keep going. I have to do this, for everyone. I have to.
But…but my body, it wants so so desperately to just—
“Toi!”
“...!”
—The sight I saw at that moment…
“Toi, are you okay!?”
The sight beyond that little window—
Before I knew it, the skies had cleared and light began to pour past the glass.
“Ah…”
The shadows cast by the barred window piled onto one another, swallowed by a single silhouette. Backed by the gleaming moonlight, was my brother—
“Toi, Toi…!”
It was as if a new God had just descended onto Earth.
Oh no…what do I do now? I was waiting for Oshisha-sama, but God had shown up ahead of the angel. Maybe I had already died… No, that couldn’t be right.
“Ani…sama…!” I called back.
My brother's face crumpled with guilt. He called my name in a pained voice. Ani-sama was distressed…because of me.
Please, don’t make that face. Don’t feel sad over me. I’m okay.
I wanted to hold him in my arms. I wanted to assure him everything was okay. I wanted dearly to touch him one more time.
I wanted to take away my brother’s pain, no matter what may happen to me. I wanted to heal his sorrow.
I didn't even need to be the one to do it. Please, someone, anyone—
And then it happened.
“Are you my next host?” a voice echoed in my head.

(18Trip Translation) Tao Kinouchi Novel: Back to the 99 - Track 1
all novels have spoilers for information about the characters revealed in the main story, proceed with caution!
Tuesday, June 29, 1999 / 1
It was supposed to be a regular evening, a regular live show, but it all changed with the deafening sound of a patrol car’s siren.
“Today was a disaster~ I came here to have fun at Ev3ns’s live…”
“It’s a good thing no one was hurt, though. Be careful on the way home, okay?”
When I said that, the fan teared up for some reason.
“TaoTao is so kind… I’ll absolutely come tomorrow too!” They proclaimed before leaving.
The two cars that had crashed in front of Yokohama Station were still on the road, and police were questioning the drivers.
One of the vehicles was self-driving, and the other was manual. It appears the manual car had crashed into the self-driving one.
It really was a good thing no one was hurt, but obviously we Ev3ns who had received permission to perform a guerilla live in front the station today, couldn’t go through with it. We apologized to the fans who had come and asked them to go back home.
“Alright, you lot hurry and start gathering your things, too. Once all the guests have left, you’re free to do as you please, so just change your clothes and move on. If we stay here, people will start gathering, and it’ll cause trouble.” Our manager Nayuki-san said promptly.
After the last guest left, I started thinking about what to do with my sudden free time when Chihiro came up to me from behind and said with a grin, “Tao, I saw that.”
“What did you see?”
“You’re baiting the delulus again, aren’t ya? The fan you saw off earlier was de~fs in love with you!”
Huh? Delulu… What’s that?
Chihiro says things I can’t understand sometimes.
He seemed excited for some reason, saying things like “You’re such a sinful man!” and “This isn’t fair!”, but he somehow looked like he’s having fun.
He’s got a strange way of showing it, but I can tell he’s happy for me, so I don’t really mind it. I think that’s one of Chihiro’s good qualities.
“Everyone, since today’s plans were disrupted by the sudden accident, the evening lesson is optional. It’s been a while since you last had a day off. It’ll be short, but I hope you enjoy yourselves. Nayuki has secured a space in the changing room for an hour. Is that enough for you?”
Our leader, Raito-san, called out to us, and we decided to call it a day for now.
We went out into town, and started talking about whether we’d all be going out to eat, but when Raito-san asked Nayuki-san if he wanted to eat ramen with us, he was ignored as usual (despite that, he stubbornly continued to trail after Nayuki-san, as he usually does)
Before we realized it, Kuguri-san had already left.
Chihiro called out to Kinari first, “Kinyari~ Do you wanna go for dinner with me and Tao?” he asked.
“Thank you for the invitation. But I have a prior engagement with Master.” Kinari said and declined.
I wanted to ask him why he was so sure I’ll come to dinner with him, but well, since I was invited, why not?
“Taooo, Kinyari and Mana-pi got some business to take care of. Let’s go for dinner together.”
“Sure. I don’t mind. But ain’t it a little early for dinner…”
“I mean, sure~ But all I had before the live was a light snack~”
While changing in the space Nayuki-san had secured for us, Chihiro and I got to talking about where to go to kill time.
The capable Nayuki-san and the kind Chief collected our costumes that were sure to attract attention and said they would take it back to the dorms. Thanks to them, we’re able to go to town dressed lightly.
“Hmm, the arcade? Or Karaoke? Where should we go?”
“Let’s see…”
Just as I was about to finish my reply, I spotted a trio of high school boys walking through the crowd.
They were laughing with each other, and sometimes pushed each other around, it seemed they got along well.
The navy blue blazer and checkered slacks are one of the usual school uniforms.
… I also used to wear a uniform like that.
And I also used to spend my after school time laughing with my friends like that.
Back then, he also used to ask questions like the ones Chihiro asked me.
I suddenly remembered that.
–– Tuesday, June 29, 1999
“What should we do now? Arcade? Karaoke?”
The one walking next to me is Goz –Souta Gozu– a friend I’ve known since middle school. Neither of us have any distinctive features, and we’re indistinguishable from the rest of the high school students wandering around after school
Though, we’re fine with that.
“I wanna go to the arcade. I wanna play Chrono.” I said.
“Huh? Haven’t we been going only to the arcade lately? My vote’s on karaoke.”
Goz makes a stupidly cool face and points his finger at me.
People often say this guy and I are similar.
Honestly, we both look quite ordinary, and we often laugh about it.
“But Chrono’s new record was set just yesterday.”
“I get that you like gun games, but you should let someone else have their fun, at least for today. It’s only been a week since the new machines got here, do you even know your own rank? You’re fourth in the whole country, fourth.”
“That’s not first.”
“You’re still one of the Four Heavenly Kings, so it’s fine.”
“Ain’t that Skull Millionaire’s position?”
A loud ringtone was heard from Goz’s pocket while we were pointlessly chatting away.
He took out his silver PHS and after looking at the message that had arrived, he declared, “We’re going for karaoke.”
“Kinari’s coming too. You two should sing a duet, harmony and bass.”
“Ah, if Kinari’s coming, then karaoke’s good...”
Obviously happy with that, Goz typed a reply to Kinari.
Last year, Kinari Azekawa was in the same class as Goz. He’d tag along when Goz came to see me, and we’d start talking.
Goz and I live in the same neighborhood, so we hang out pretty much every day, and Kinari sometimes joins us.
He has fair skin and light colored hair, and as much as I hate to admit it, unlike us ordinary guys, he’s quite good-looking.
But he often misses school.
I haven’t asked him any details, but it seems he’s got some chronic illness.
He’s a good guy, but he seems sorta transparent? I feel like he’s in a different category from me, and it was hard for us to open up to each other at first.
But then we went to karaoke together.
We realized we like the same bands, and I think we became closer because of that.
“Kinari wants you to guess his card again today. He says he’ll get you to reveal your secret this time.”
“Ehhh… Spare me. I don’t even have my cards with me.”
“Isn’t Kinari gonna prepare all that?”
“That’d be scary, why would he put all his energy in the wrong thing?”
We laughed as we talked about it.
Despite his appearance, Kinari is strong-willed and competitive, and seems to have vowed to expose my card guessing secrets.
“What’s with that?” I used to think.
But it didn’t feel bad that my card guessing, which I only associated with bad memories, became a sort of game thanks to Goz and Kinari.
“Alright, let’s go to our usual place.”
With familiar steps, we headed towards the cheap karaoke bar that includes free time and drinks.
In the sunset after school, Goz and I were both just some regular high schoolers.
We were just ordinary people with no individuality, and no one even knew our names.
Being able to exist like that–
Was the most comfortable thing in the world for me.

NOTES: (1) You can read the notes on @716chr's Chihiro novel translation for a more indepth explanation, but long story short: Chihiro uses リア恋 , which is used to describe someone's unrealistic romantic feelings towards an idol. The closest pop slang equivalent to that is delulu, which is used to describe people who have some sort of parasocial relationship with a celebrity

18trip taking off in eng popularity regardless of translation availability is just wild already but it is really funny being in the absolute minority of eng fans who intend to actually... Read the story. Saw someone on twitter already posted every single story illustration and all I could think was omfg slow DOWN... Give people at least a LITTLE time to actually READ THE DAMN THING before you cover the TL in spoilers!?!?!?
