Раскрывается аккуратно, появляется сырой миндаль и садовые цветы. Вкус: насыщенный, древесный. Очень сладкий, приправленный черным перцем и гвоздикой. Послевкусие долгое, ваниль и мокрое дерево. Результат: вино непростое, отлично сбалансированное, танинность не выражена. Камамбер усиливает палитру, акцентируя на древесных тонах и пряностях. Для вечера удовольствий и откровений перед собой.

Вкус: вино сбалансированная, кислотность умеренная, танины мягкие. Насыщенное и немного обжигающее, ноты кофе и горчицы. Послевкусие долгое, со вкусом земли и молока.

Результат: превосходное и доброе вино для важного вечера без лишних слов и ненужных людей вокруг. Сыр смягчает вино и позволяет ему раскрываться аккуратно, давая возможность наслаждаться как можно дольше. Сыр достаточно дерзкий, но на удивление не конфликтует, а дополняет.

Результат: отличный игристый десерт для девочек, праздничный и вкусный. Тело сбалансированное, вкус гармоничный и очень карамельный. Простое для сервировки, когда ничего не нужно кроме хорошего кино, интересной книжки или лучшей подруги.

Вкус: аккуратный, терпкое, с мягкой танниностью. Структурность невыраженная, послевкусие  недолгое. Горький шоколад, табак, мокрое дерево.

Результат: оказалось немного убитым, что повлияло на описание. Потенциально намного интереснее и серьёзнее российского Пино Нуара.

New Vikings Cornerback Patrick Peterson Selling $3.2M Arizona Mansion

The new Minnesota Vikings cornerback, Patrick Peterson, has punted on his Scottsdale, AZ, home. The posh property is available for $3.185 million.

The Florida native purchased the place in 2015 for $2,692,000, while starring for the Arizona Cardinals. The cornerback just inked a free-agent deal with the Minnesota Vikings and has left the desert in favor of colder climes. As a result, his ritzy residence is up for grabs.

Located in the guard-gated community of Equestrian Manor, the six-bedroom, eight-bathroom spread spans over 7,400 square feet.

No price on the place has been made public, but it would be divulged to a qualified buyer. To get a ballpark estimate, the coastal estate was listed in 2017 for $32.75 million, and then relisted in 2018 for $21.5 million.

The estate, designed by Wallace Neff and known as the Straus House, had originally been commissioned by Robert K. Straus, heir to the Macy’s fortune, who purchased land in what’s known as the Hope Ranch enclave of Santa Barbara.

Straus and his wife lived in a Bel-Air home designed by the Southern California architect, and tapped him to design their coastal retreat.

For the interiors, the designer John Hall, who had completed several projects for their Bel-Air residence, was brought in. Neff collaborated with the celebrated landscape architect Thomas Church to design the grounds.

Finished in 1970, the coastal abode made a splash when it was first unveiled 50 years ago. Featured in Architectural Digest, the eye-popping estate has since changed hands and undergone a massive renovation. The property is described as “painstakingly restored, expanded, and modernized over a 10-year period,” according to the website promoting the property.

The spread sits on an oceanfront acre on the crest of a bluff, with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and over to the Channel Islands. The current owner, a local developer, purchased the place in 2007 for $7.5 million and proceeded on the lengthy renovation.

Sales materials state that the owner worked with the local Historical Committee on all aspects of preserving the integrity of the design and inspiration of Neff’s work—while also incorporating deluxe accoutrements for today’s luxury-minded buyer.

The gated property is accessed by a motor court. The 14,000-square-foot spread includes six bedrooms and eight bathrooms and sits on 1.53 acres. The dramatic main living area features a vaulted and beamed ceiling, a fireplace, and a wall of glass facing the Pacific Ocean.

Updates include a modernized kitchen, bathrooms, and a new lower level, which features a spa, media room, two elevators, and two wine cellars. A guesthouse is tucked under a hill, with ocean views.

The gorgeous offering is now available exclusively off-market with the listing agents Weston Littlefield, Dalton Gomez, and Aaron Kirman of the Aaron Kirman Group at Compass.

There is that one catch, though: Interested parties must contact a listing agent if they wish to find out the price.

Underground Home Inside Kansas Missile Silo Rockets Onto the Market for $1.6M

We have some explosive news from Eskridge, KS. A Cold War–era missile silo base there on 32 acres, converted into an underground home, has come on the market for $1,599,475.

It was built as an Atlas E missile structure in the early 1950s, in response to the threat of nuclear war with the Soviet Union. These short-lived bases were operated by the Air Force in the early 1960s, and the structure, one of nine others around Topeka, was decommissioned in 1965 in favor of newer technology and more robust facilities.

As structures go, though, this silo is still pretty darn solid. Built to withstand bomb blasts, it is made up of epoxy-resin concrete and heavy rebar.

After use by the military, the listing in question was turned over to a salvage company that further stripped the property. That left the site, which had cost the government $3.3 million to build, in sorry shape.

The current owners purchased the property in the early 1980s.

“It had been vacant for some time,” says the listing agent, Trent Siegle with Midwest Land Group.

Some areas were filled with as much as 8 feet of water, but the bunker’s eventual owner did his due diligence before purchasing. He explored the underground space with a canoe and flashlight, even diving in, before deciding to take on the massive subterranean project.

After the purchase, the first priority was to dry out the space. It took a high-powered water pump 22 hours to drain over one million gallons of liquid from beneath the Earth’s surface. It then took 80 wheelbarrow trips to clear the space of “mud and gunk,” Siegle notes.

Once the area was cleaned out, the owners got to work to build their underground lair. What they have called Subterra Castle includes an underground living quarters, workshop, and event space that they have called home for more than three decades.

The property is entered via a half-mile driveway, and the complex is protected by secure, 8-foot fencing.

The below-ground offering includes six bedrooms, three bathrooms, and around 6,500 square feet. The space is a boon, but a buyer will have to become accustomed to the lack of natural light.

However, there’s plenty of sunshine in the above ground one-bedroom residence. Before the pandemic, the above-ground unit was busy as a popular Airbnb.

A new owner could continue the vacation rental business, or even turn the entire place into a “unique tourist destination,” as the listing suggests.

Above ground, the property features two lookout towers designed like castle turrets, a Quonset building, a 450-foot caretaker cabin, and even a Stonehenge-like ceremonial stone circle with a fire pit, used for outdoor events.

The grounds also include a grass air strip, a pond, orchards, and garden spaces, as well as a passive solar greenhouse with a hot tub.

A spiral staircase descends to the underground living area, which has a stage, great room, two kitchens, a dining area, four bedrooms and two bathrooms.

A wood-burning stove warms the space. There has been little need to add air conditioning, given the 18-inch-thick walls and ceilings and 36-inch floors.

The 47-ton blast door leads to the site that housed the missile, which is now used as a workshop. An underground tunnel connects the workshop to the living quarters.

The owners have preserved the control room, signage, and other artifacts from the structure’s former life as a military outpost. A hallway showcases news clippings from years past about the offbeat domicile.

The sellers are at an age where they are ready to downsize and simplify, and it’s now time for a new chapter, with new owners.

The property, set in pasture 30 miles outside of Topeka, offers the ultimate escape from a hectic world.

Once you head down the stairs and underground into the former silo, “There’s no cell service. There’s no windows,” Siegle says. “You’re in your own little world.”
