[K Style News Article] 200810 NU'EST Minhyun releases OST cover footage of Taiwanese drama "Soujutsu"... pay attention to clear singing voice & 2 characters
NU'EST's Minhyun has released a cover song with outstanding vocals.
On the afternoon of the 9th, a cover image of the OST (inserted song) "Thinking I only want to see you, I want to see you" of the Taiwanese drama "Someday or One Day" was released on the official YouTube channel of NU'EST. The cover song, which was reinterpreted with Minhyun's sensitivity, attracted attention from both inside and outside Korea.
Prior to this, the expectation for the full version has been heightened through the passage of "Thinking I only want to see you, I want to see you" that he showed through the local media, as well as the preview image and video.
The video released this time shows Minhyun singing a song and Minhyun in a uniform uniform, which alternates in the lyrics of the song "In the future and in the past, I just want to see you (future past, my thought )”, which conveys the painful feeling of love that exceeds time and space.
His delicate performance, in particular, perfectly represented the two characters of conflicting charm, and admired the viewer with his superb vocals and their distinctive sweet tone and emotional expression. This cover video, which has received an explosive reaction, has been well received as a present prepared for fans who have sent unchanging support and love.
In addition, NU'EST, to which Minhyun belongs, received a big response after announcing the release of their new album "DRIVE" in Japan on October 7th, the first time in about five years. All 14 songs, including Japanese original songs, are recorded in the album, which is attracting attention.
Minhyun will appear in the drama "LIVE ON" scheduled to be broadcast on JTBC in November, and NU'EST will be available every Sunday on Naver's live video distribution application "V LIVE" channel from September 13th to October 11th. Publish a variety of video content "ON-CLIP <UNBOXING>".

I created a song for a project I'll task myself to do. Sorry for not uploading in a while, so pardon me if the song's audio gets a bit corrupted in some parts.
The concept artwork for TOKYO VIGILANTE simply won't do. I am currently preparing several other tracks for the new long-term project I will take part in.
Now, what is Tokyo Vigilante?
TOKYO VIGILANTE will be an industrial gothic-steampunk filled with godlike entities, magical creatures, and dark themes with high-stakes drama and 2D animation.
The main story will establish a young college graduate named Hiroshi Matsuyama moving in from the rural slums of Osaka, Japan to the bustling city of Tokyo to take a harsh, ruthless job as a factory worker with no conceivable future ahead of him.
However, despite Hiro's obviously cruel reality, he remains hopeful of his passion: becoming a lead violinist in the Tokyo Live Orchestra. But when a horrific accident in the factory caused by one of Hiro's higher-ups ends up destroying a massive urban area in Tokyo, all fingers unjustly pointed to Hiro and he was fired, then sent to be exiled from Japan.
Even worse, the massive city's governor, Calvin Rosemont Andersen, is rising in power at establishing a technocratic-authoritarian regime over all of Japan through the approval of the United Nations. Calvin, despite his near-flawless authoritarian presence is a sexually abusive predator with intent of murdering his daughter (through ANY means) and asserting authority upon Japan, then starting a war on the world, then becoming a god if all else fails. Through the protection of an elite terrorist group seizing the controversial name of the Yakuza, Calvin is out on a manhunt for her.
Hiro, after being sent to the freezing winters of Rikubetsu awaiting his brutal exile, filled with a society wrongfully hating him, now has no other choice but to try and clear his name by becoming the Tokyo Vigilante, a rogue vigilante alias he establishes.
However, it is nearly impossible to try and take Calvin's armed forces on alone. So through the guidance of a Divine Ethereum he freed from his crystal heart named Athos, his mission is to form a team of vigilantes who will side with him and put an end to Calvin's plans of total armageddon.
So, Hiro must form a group called The Yokosai Cross, a team of righteous vigilantes that will take back the world. But, even that won't be so easy.
To make things even worse, there's a catch: Each time any kind of traumatic experience happens to Hiro, a piece of his horrific childhood returns to his clouded mind and a part of his emotional health deteriorates. Since Hiro only has two years to recruit a reliable, trustworthy team, the clock ticks down to annihilation. Will Hiro take back his rightful name, or will his ambitions be crushed under the stars? What does it take to convince a corrupt population? What makes a monster and what makes a man? Does Hiro have what it takes to take on the world?

Happyface Ent.
Feb 13th 2019.
Intro
PIRI
Diamond
그리고 아무도 없었다 (And There Was No One Left)
Daydream (백일몽)
PIRI (Inst.)
Mano: A new track that declares itself to be the end of the 'Nightmare series' which Dreamcatcher has tirelessly continued till now. While one can't help but be reminded of how homework or project files end up with names like 'Nightmare_series_real_final', as they have declared the series to be over in the past, the album's quality is nothing to laugh at. This time, in the lead track, PIRI, the group joins Trap beats with the team's signature heavy metal sound. 'Diamond', on the other hand, is a successful crossbreed between Moombatone and heavy metal. Beginning with 'Intro', a track notable for the usage of the PIRI main theme to lead the track, as well as imposing orchestrations and drum-and-bass sounds, followed by the lead track and then throughout the rest of its running time, the album keeps up a tight sense of tension and interconnectedness, displaying a level of quality befitting the finale of the series and of Dreamcatcher's world building. The performances from the members, who seem to have reached a certain level, are also superb. The music video, which implies a story of how the girls chose to become the Nightmare itself within the ever-repeating Nightmare, almost seems like a summary of the series up to this point. While it's sad to see the 'Nightmare series' end, I hope they bravely continue on their new path without forgetting their dark past.
Mimyo: What stands out more than anything else in PIRI is the musical evolution that Dreamcatcher has gone through. Simply putting together the given elements could have been done immediately, but was risky. Dreamcatcher manages to avoid this trap, though the risk is felt as they teeter on its edge. PIRI successfully brings a drop-type hook, unheard of in previous Dreamcatcher tracks, into the spectrum of metal (while drawing from the vague similarity between Gugak-Korean traditional music-and Hip Hop), and then reinterprets it into a polished K-Pop style. Through the contrasting gap between the blunt rap and sweet vocals, the group's voice and its characteristic performance fully shine through. Dreamcatcher's music, which began without any precedents to follow, now presents a completion of sorts. I salute the experimentation and self-improvement that the team has  undertaken.
Eunjae Cho: If nothing else, their untiring efforts in advancing the story while maintaining their unique charisma deserves praise. Compared to the group's past tracks, which seemed to sprint breathlessly, this time they reigned the tempo in somewhat and presented a calmer, yet heavier performance which highlights the team's growth into a middle-tier group. Another point of note about the team is how they fill their albums with songs that are of consistent moods and themes. Despite traversing different genres, Dreamcatcher's cold, proud yet powerful image is apparent in every track, even in 'Daydream', a ballad number. Now that they've so perfectly wrapped up their two-year-long project, one can't help but have high hopes for their upcoming story.

Album introduction
Dreamcatcher's never-ending 'Nightmare', a 'da capo' within the fantasy, the 4th mini album [The End of Nightmare]
The story of a Nightmare that has captivated the whole world now draws to a close. This is through Dreamcatcher's new album, [The End of Nightmare].
Dreamcatcher's 'Nightmare' started on January 13th 2017. The Nightmare that they portrayed has continued to evolve. From Prequel to modern era, the Nightmare has continued to change, captivating the whole world. It could be safely said that Dreamcatcher's extraordinary growth that went beyond Korea, highlighted by the group’s two world tours,  was thanks to the group’s 'Nightmare' concept.
In their first Album, [Nightmare], Dreamcatcher members each takes on the form of a nightmare and visits us. Common nightmare we have, such as 'the dream where you are chased by someone: JiU', 'the dream where you are watched by someone: Handong', 'the dream where you are trapped in a tight space: Siyeon', 'the dream where you fall from high places: Gahyeon', 'the dream where you can't move your body: SuA', 'the dream where you wander unfamiliar places: Yoohyeon', and  'the dream where you get hurt: Dami' were the mischievous doings of Dreamcatcher.
Their story was continued in [Nightmare - Fall asleep in the Mirror]. Dreamcatcher's mischief awakens the brute nature within the Nightmare hunter, and a chase between the Nightmare hunter and the seven Nightmare ensues. The invitation from the Nightmare hunter, the escape that follows, the capture of the Nightmares, and the desperate chase that ensues in order to save them continues to present twists and turns, and doesn't let the viewer relax until the very end.
Thus the Nightmare storyline was continued, but there remained an unresolved mystery. It was 'how the girls became the Nightmares'. They presented the answer to this question in their first Mini album, [Prequel]. Dreamcatcher perfectly satisfied the taste of InSomnias worldwide.
Then a new 'Nightmare' unfolded. Dreamcatcher's 'Nightmare' didn't stay in one era. [Nightmare - Escape the ERA] continued the unique Nightmare fantasy story while signalling an end to the Antique era. The absorbing story, perched on the indefinite line between reality and dream, between inside and out, and between one and two, helped build a team identity that was unique to Dreamcatcher.
After that came [Alone In The City], where Dreamcatcher points to the stress of modern life as being the cause of the 'Nightmare. The group depicts youths of the world who inhabit an uncertain reality, their fantasies of every tormentor they face being recreated in a nightmare, as well as the conflict between the 'seven Nightmares', enriching their story.
Dreamcatcher's epic, which the team has so tirelessly expanded upon, finally comes to its end in [The End of Nightmare]. [The End of Nightmare], like the title suggests, is the installment that completes the 'Nightmare' story that Dreamcatcher had laid out so far.
The conclusion that Dreamcatcher presents is far from what one would ordinarily expect. Like how they started off with a twist by bringing 'Nightmares' into 'Dreamcatcher', an object that is supposed to drive out nightmares, this time, they trap you in a Nightmare that repeats infinitely. Thus, [The End of Nightmare] is not only the last 'Nightmare' presented by Dreamcatcher, but a new starting point, a 'da capo' within the fantasy.
Where will the 'Fine' of Dreamcatcher's Nightmare be? With Dreamcatcher's PIRI, we invite you into an never-ending Nightmare.
<Track List>
1. Intro
Composition: LEEZ, Ollounder
Arrangement: Ollounder, LEEZ
Guitar: Ollounder
Synthesizer: LEEZ
The orchestration sounds in the opening of the track that are reminiscent of war films, and the Drum & Bass rhythms of the later half blend together in this Intro track. The allusion to the PIRI theme heightens one's expectations.
2. PIRI

Lyrics: Ollounder, LEEZ
Arrangement: Ollounder, LEEZ
Chorus: Siyeon, LEEZ
Guitar: Ollounder
Bass: Ollounder
Drum: Ollounder
Keyboard: Olloudner
Synthesizer: LEEZ
Dreamcatcher's new track, 'PIRI' is a song that depicts the emotions of modern life, where one wants to escape the solitude and anxiety of being left behind. They used 'PIRI' within the lyrics as a medium to express their SOS signal. Unlike their previous lead tracks, which featured fast tempos, PIRI creates tension with a different styled beat. The repeated melodyline, featuring an ear-catching usage of flute and whistling sounds, is noteworthy.
3. Diamond
Composition: Ollounder LEEZ
Lyrics: Ollounder LEEZ
Arrangement: Ollounder LEEZ
Chorus: Siyeon, LEEZ
Guitar: Ollounder
Bass: Ollounder
Drum: Ollounder
Keyboard: Ollounder
Synthesizer: LEEZ
The track expresses the group's ambition to be as strong as a Diamond, the strongest gem, so as to not break and triumph over the threat of the Nightmare. The intense beat of the chorus symbolizes their firmness. It is the first Future Rock track from Dreamcatcher.

Arrangement: Ollounder, LEEZ, Kim Jun-hyeok
Chorus: Siyeon, LEEZ
Drum: Ollounder
Guitar: Ollounder

Synthesizer: Kim Jun-hyeok
A retro pop number, this track tells the prologue story to the lead track, 'PIRI'. The lonely, empty emotions of the lyrics are set to a simple rhythm and guitar theme.
5. Daydream(백일몽)
Composition: LEEZ , Ollounder, Kim Jun-hyeok
Lyrics: LEEZ , Ollounder, Kim Jun-hyeok
Arrangement: LEEZ , Ollounder, Kim Jun-hyeok
Chorus: Siyeon
Guitar: Byeon Do-young
Bass: Kim Jun-hyeok
Drum: Kim Jun-hyeok

Though you wait for a promise with someone to be fulfilled, every memory is but an empty daydream of your imagination. A sad ballad number that expresses unchanging emotions and longing.
6. PIRI (Inst.)

Shinhwa releases the 20th anniversary album ‘Heart’
Shinhwa released the album “Heart” on Tuesday in celebration of its 20th anniversary. The much-anticipated album consists of six songs including the lead track “Kiss Me Like That,” a dance tune with addictive acoustic guitar riffs. The song, written by popular lyricist Kim Eana, is a trendy tune packed with nice melodies and rap.
Tumblr media
A teaser clip for the song’s music video also garnered attention when it was released last week, drumming up support for the return of the group. “The 20th-anniversary album is all the more special as it includes various genres across Shinhwa’s wide musical spectrum,” Shinhwa Co. said. “Heart” will be released at 6 p.m. Tuesday alongside the music video for “Kiss Me Like That.” The six-piece group will also perform on Mnet’s “M! Countdown” on Thursday. The new album is the band’s first work in over 1 1/2 years since its 13th studio album “Unchanging: Touch” in January 2017.

180315 [Shinhwa’s 20th Anniversary] ① The records of the First, by the First, for the First
Tumblr media
The day that didn’t seem like it was coming finally arrived. Coming on the 24th is the 20th anniversary of Shinhwa’s debut. The members showed their faces every year so 19th, 18th, 17th seems more familiar but if you think about it, ‘20’ is a big number.
From 1998 to 2018, if you look at the times Shinhwa was active, the world had changed completely. CDP became a music website application. The variety shows that made you go to boot camps or hypnotized are gone but web contents that pursues reality showed up. The iconic music station Mnet’s logo and their award show changed multiple times. Radio program that Shinhwa used to DJ now has more than two-hands countable DJs now. The concert ticket which was less than 50,000KRW is now up to 200,000KRW.
As the world’s speed goes faster, the weight of time gets heavier. So it’s ‘not just 20 years’, but ‘already 20 years.’ And the thing that do not go away with time is the record of the ‘First.’ The first records, the records someone achieved first and other records were possible because of that, the power source to move forward. The points that made Shinhwa now didn’t get erased with time and became the bible of the idols.
Tumblr media
■ They never settle: 13th album, new dance and performance.
The reason why their history shines even more is they stuck to each other without changing any members. The scene now has lots of changes in members. It’s unbelievable to have same team member for 20 years. Shinhwa even finished all of their military services and is still the same.
So Shinhwa made it to their 13th album, the first time in the idol history. Shinhwa has been making full album even though the majority of the market is filled with singles and mini albums. Putting aside the break they had, they have been releasing a full album almost every year. On top of that, the title song ‘Touch’ from the 13th album ‘Unchanging-Touch’ is the first complete future bass song in Korean mainstream music scene.
Tumblr media
They have been trying to do new things while keeping their own original character. Mustache, tanning, muscles, shaved heads, so-called the ‘4 taboos of the idol’, they’ve all done those. They are the origin of the once popular ‘Beast idol’. These extraordinary changes is also a movement to get out of a set frame for a better stage.
The song ‘Wild eyes’ is the first song to present ‘chair dance’ to the scene. Even until now, the young groups continue to cover the song. The title song ‘This Love’ from the 11th album has the first voguing dance performance for idol group. On top of that Shinhwa will be breaking their own frame by reenacting their  ‘All Your Dreams’ which was released in 2000 on this coming March 26th.
What’s great about this is as much as Shinhwa puts efforts to the stage, the performance got better every time. Shinhwa was the first group to do a all-live band concert in 2003 as an idol group. The abundant sound of the band is now the crucial point of Shinhwa’s performances.
■ Separate but together : DJ, variety show, commercials
Nowadays ‘Separate but together’ is a common thing for idols. It’s even stranger if they don’t do anything alone as an individual member. But there were times that it wasn’t so common. In early 2000s, Shinhwa started to become a solo artist starting with Lee Minwoo who put out his first solo album, then Kim Dongwan, Shin Hyesung, Junjin, Andy in that order. Since they were alone on stage, they could show their own spectrum other than a group spectrum. Later, each members held individual concerts, fan meet and greets, tours, etc.
Same with the variety shows. Even before the words ‘Beagle –idol’, ‘Ggaebangjung (ball of energy)’ came out, Shinhwa showed their talents in shows like ‘Star watch’, ‘Long Live Love’, ‘Driven’, ‘Dong Go Dong Rak’, etc. The interview videos were always popular when the entertainment information shows were popular. Even more, Shinhwa made a record of having their own show with JTBC ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’ (2012). ‘Kim Dongwan’s Ten Ten Club’ was the first radio program to have idol DJ.
Shinhwa’s influence was even with the commercials. In 2005 Shinhwa re-signed another contract with a school uniform company, Ivy Club, after the first contract in 2000. Also, Shinhwa became the first idol suit model starting with the Roygen commercial in 2012. They also had Coca-Cola commercial for the first time, and it was Coca-Cola’s first time having human model in their commercial. And it was 1-minute long too.
Tumblr media
■ Shinhwa makes Shinhwa : Making their own company and owning the copyright
After a break due to military, Shinhwa tried hard to make 6 of them as a group back together. They established their own company, the first for any idol group. The representative is one of the members and the shareholders are themselves. The Shinhwa Company is an attempt is another way to show that an idol group can survive (on their own without a 3rd-party management). Headed by Eric and Lee Minwoo, it is still the foundation for the group activities.
But It wasn’t easy to get all the members out from their original agencies. Shinhwa determinedly went through a long legal dispute to gain back the name ‘Shinhwa.’ As a result of their persistence, they won and the Copyright transfer on May 29th 2015. In same year, June 11th, they completed the process. It’s the first case that the idol wholly owns their own name. Fans also cheered for the group who got their complete freedom after 17 years.
The story about the copyright is recognized greatly nowadays. Because there are more and more idols and groups who want to do individual things but many of them are still having issues with copyrights. Shinhwa’s example shows how hard it is for a group to show their own music by themselves, and also how big the synergy effect could be after going through that hardship together.
Tumblr media
■ Fans follow Shinhwa for the Firsts : Shinhwa Forest, Rice Wreath, Stars
Like their group, the fan-club of Shinhwa, Shinhwa Changjo is also writing a new history with a new cheering culture. Shinhwa’s fan-club create a ‘Shinhwa Forest’ as celebration of the group’s 15th anniversary. Located in Gangnam gu Seoul, the forest is consisted of 1130 trees and is leading the way to solve the environmental problem that Seoul city has with the green space.
The rice wreath culture, which is now common, it was Shinhwa Changjo who started it for the first time. The rice wreath began with Shin Hyesung concert in August 2007. Many fans of other idols now send rice wreathes to concerts, show productions, doing the good thing.
It did not start from the fans, but Shinhwa also got star as a gift for the first time. In 2005, the USC Korea, the official partner of UCS America gave Shinhwa a star to commemorate their launching in Korea. The name of the star is ‘Shinhwa’. The SHINHWA star is among the Aries constellation that matches the date of their debut, March 24th. It is one of the 2000 stars that you can see with your own eyes from earth and it is most visible in November. It also became a inspiration for the ‘Shinhwa star postage stamp’.

There are many other Shinhwa’s “First” that are not covered in this article. You can refer to this “[1Boon] You thought they only had the ‘longest running idol’ title?” for more.  And for the visual effect, check this post too! 👉 http://msmemaaaa.tumblr.com/post/117252316986
It was also said that the Coca-Cola CF was originally with Eric and he asked to have it as a group CF. Of course he also did a Coke Zero on his own in February 2007. Although the amount of his Coke Zero CF was not disclosed, GOODEMG revealed that it was the highest paid in the entertainment industry at that time.
