Stratus’s Comprehensive Shiny Den Exploit Guide
Have you heard about the shiny den exploit in Sword and Shield? If you haven’t, it is basically a method that can be used to obtain a limitless amount of shiny pokemon from dens in the wild area and (to a certain degree) being able to choose which specific pokemon you would like limitless shinies of. Neat, huh?
Maybe you have heard of this method before. Maybe you’ve attempted it yourself using youtube videos as guide. Maybe, like me, you became extremely frustrated at your percieved inability to get it right. If that is you, know that I feel your pain, having spent countless hours trying to obtain a shiny pokemon from a den only for it not to be shiny at the end because of one small step that I missed or mistake I made. In fact, that is exactly what inspired me to create this guide.
Below the cut, I will explain, in as much detail as humanly possible, how to take advantage of the shiny den exploit. Follow each step exactly, and you will be rewarded with a shiny for your efforts. Are you ready, dear reader? Well, here we go.
1. This method, to me, is one of those things that is all about the set-up. If you don’t set up everything exactly right, something might be off at the end and prevent you from your ultimate goal. So, this is how you should prepare yourself to begin:
1a. Before you get started, go to settings in your game and make sure that auto-save feature is switched OFF.
1b. Now, press the home button to get out of your game, go to your Switch’s system settings, scroll down to “system”, and then to “date and time”, and make “synchronize clock via internet” is set to OFF.
2. Buy a wishing piece, if you don’t have one already. Please note that this method ONLY works if you use a wishing piece. If you just use a den you got naturally in the wild area, none of the following will work.
3. Now, throw the wishing piece into an empty den. (If you are searching for an event Pokémon, make sure that the Pokémon in the den is one of the event Pokémon. It doesn’t have to be the exact Pokémon you want, so long as it’s part of the same event, because you will be able to reset your shiny pokemon, as I will explain later.) If you are looking for a specific shiny Pokémon, be sure to check Serebii’s dem listing to ensure that the Pokémon will spawn in the den. (Serebii’s den listing: https://www.serebii.net/swordshield/maxraidbattles/den106.shtml )The game should save while you are tossing the wishing piece in the den. After this point, DO NOT SAVE.
3. Go into the raid and catch the Pokémon. You MUST catch the Pokémon to proceed to the next step. To make this easier, you may turn on the internet and invite others to help you take down the Pokémon in the den. The Pokémon that you catch in this den is known as the seed Pokémon.
4. Next, we will check the seed Pokemon. To do this, you will need to connect to a seed-checking bot in a trade and offer up your seed Pokemon. I know of two free options: Dudu Bot (http://116.202.105.91/) and Dizzy’s Pokémon server ( https://discord.gg/WDUYBA ).I will describe how to use the seed checking bot on Dizzy’s server because that is the one that I prefer to use.
4a. In your game, connect to the internet.
4b. Go to the discord server (on your phone, computer, whatever). In the server, go down to one of the “seed checking” channels.
4c. In the channel, type $CheckMySeed or !CheckMySeed depending on which channel you are using, 1 or 2. This will put you in Jiggly or Wiggly bot’s line.
4d. Once it is your turn in line, Jiggly or Wiggly bot will send you a discrete link trade code. In your game, click link trade, enter the given code, and start searching. You should connect with the Jiggly bot shortly.
4e. After you connect with the bot, offer your “seed” Pokémon—that is, the one you caught in the den—for trade. You should get a communication error, and the trade will be ended.
4f. Go back to the seed checking channel to see the results of your seed checking. It should look something like this:
Tumblr media
The important thing for us to note here is the number listed after Star Shiny at Frame: This number represents the amount of frames you will have to skip to get to your shiny den. In this example, I would have to skip 558 frames to get to my shiny den, where one frame = one day.
5. Now that you have these results, use a date calculator to find your “target date.” Here is a link to the calculator I use: (https://www.timeanddate.com/date/dateadd.html). I will describe how to use it in detail below:
5a. Put in today’s date as your start date.
5b. Put in the number of frames to your shiny den in the “add” section
5c. Calculate new date.
5d. Now, SUBTRACT 4 from the date you calculated. This will be your target date, and places you 3 skips before your shiny den date. The target date is not the date that the shiny pokemon will appear at, but rather will serve as a save point for you, just prior to the date that the shiny pokemon will appear.
6. Now that you have your target date figured out, WITHOUT SAVING, close your game. By this, I mean, press the home button, press X on the game, and close out the software.
7. This brings us to our first important checkpoint. Open your game again, and check that your game meets the following conditions:
7a. You are standing in front of the den that you dropped the wishing piece into, and a beam of light should be coming out of it. DO NOT TOUCH THE DEN AGAIN.
7b. You do NOT still have the Pokémon you traded to the bot (that is, the seed pokemon is gone).
If you don’t meet 7a, this likely means that you used a naturally occuring den rather than one triggered by a wishing piece. If you don’t meet 7b (that is to say, you still have the seed pokemon) this likely means that you saved somewhere after catching the pokemon in the den. If either of these are the case, you will have to start this process over from the beginning with another wishing piece.
If you meet conditions 7a and 7b, you can continue with the next phase of the process.
8. WITHOUT SAVING, fly to a Pokémon center. This is where you will begin the process of date skipping. (The reason why you want to be in a Pokémon center instead of the wild area is that if you skip so many days in the wild area, where the weather changes, your game is likely to crash.)
9. Now it’s time to preform the date skipping glitch. Below is the method I use.
9a. In your game, click the Y button, and then click + to turn on internet communication
9b. Go to link battle.
9c. Select single battle and start looking for an opponent.
9d. Press home button for several seconds to bring up a mini menu that pulls up on the side of your game. It should look like this:
Tumblr media
9e. As soon as you see the black box at the bottom that says that an opponent has been found, switch airplane mode ON.
9f. You should get a communication error, see the blue battle screen appear, then disappear, leaving you standing in the Pokémon center. Now that this is done, we can begin to date-skip.
!!!MAKE SURE THAT NO MENUS ARE OPEN BEFORE PROCEEDING ANY FURTHER. If a menu is open, the date-skipping will not work!!!
10. To skip dates, do the following:
10a. Click the home button. Go to system settings, and go down to date and time. DOUBLE CHECK THAT INTERNET SYNCHONIZATION IS OFF.
10b. Select date and time. Move one day forward. Click OK. (For example, if your date is 1/1/2020, change it to 1/2/2020.)This counts as skipping one frame.
10b. You will have to skip forward ONE DAY AT A TIME. BE EXTRA CAREFUL AROUND THE ENDS OF MONTHS/THE END OF YEARS. Repeat step 10a until you reach your target date.
If you would like an indication that you are doing the date skipping correctly, you can go into your game and check for a very brief black flash. This tells you that you have successfully skipped frames.
11. This brings us to our second important checkpoint. Open your game, and make sure that your game meets the following conditions:
11a. The screen flashes black for a split second.
11b. Your character is standing in the pokemon center.
11c. Leave the Pokémon center and find your den again. The beam should still be in it and the bottom should be glowing.
If you meet 11a, b, and c, you may continue to the next step.
12. In front of your den, WITHOUT COLLECTING THE WATTS FROM IT, save the game. You have now established your save point.
Optionally, you can check to verify that you have completed your date skipping successfully by completing step 4 a second time. To do this, simply go into your den, catch the pokemon in it, and use Dudu or Jiggly/Wiggly bot to check it again. If you have successfully completed your date skipping, it should tell you that you are 4 frames away from your Star Shiny Frame. After you have completed this, close the software of your game and reload it. You should be standing in front of your den with the beam still in it.
13. This is where things start to get kind of tricky. The method we use to date-skip the final 3 days will be different than the method we previously used. I will describe it step by step:
13a. Turn airplane mode OFF.
13b. Make sure your game is on LOCAL COMMUNICATION (not connected to the internet).
13c. Click on your den.
13d. Click “invite others”.
13e. Wait until your game starts looking for participants. The timer at the top of the screen should be counting down, and the pokeballs should be spinning underneath your name. The screen should look like this:
Tumblr media
13f. Click the home button.
13g. Go to your Switch’s system settings.
13h. Go down to date and time.
13i. Skip one day forward. Click ok.
13j. Go back into your game.
13k. Stop looking for participants (select quit), and go back to where you can see your character standing in front of the den. The weather should change, and the bottom of the den should begin glowing again, as to where you can collect watts from it again. If this isn’t the case, click the home button, close your game, reopen it, and complete step 13 again from the beginning.
13l. Complete steps 13c-k TWO MORE TIMES. If you are using Jigglybot, you should notice that the date that you are currently on is 1 day prior to your originally calculated shiny date. That’s fine.
14. This is it. The moment of truth. The pokemon that is in your den now should be your long-awaited shiny. However, we are going to check to make sure that it is. There are two methods you can use to check your den:
Option A: If you like the pokemon in your den, and would like to keep this pokemon in the den, you may check it by doing the following:
-connect to the internet
-invite others to join your raid. Note: you must have an actual person join the raid for this to work. This will not work with NPCs.
-once you click “start battle”, bring up the side menu that allows you to turn on airplane mode.
-as soon as you see your characters feet, turn on airplane mode. You will get kicked out of the den, and will end up standing in front of the den again with the beam still in it. First, though, you will be able to see the pokemon, and note whether it is a shiny or not.
-From here you can go back in and “host” the den over and over again, turning on airplane mode as soon as you see your character’s feet. You can round up some friends to catch the pokemon and trade it to you later.
Option B: if you don’t want to keep the pokemon in the den, you can simply check it yourself by going into the den without inviting others. Once you determine whether it is shiny or not, without finishing the raid, close your game. You will be back to 3 frames before your shiny den. To get it back, simply repeat step 13 again. Note: when you repeat step 13, DO NOT reset your date three days backward. Simply start from the date that you are currently on. For example, if your original shiny date was March 5th, you will skip three days forward to March 8th.
Of course, you also have the option of simply going into the den and catching the shiny. However, if you catch the pokemon in the den and complete the raid, the beam of light in the den will disappear and you will no longer have a shiny den.
FAQ:
What if my pokemon is not shiny?
If your pokemon is not shiny the first time you check your den, don’t fret! You probably are off just a tiny bit on your date skipping. Here is how to troubleshoot:
1. Once you determine that your pokemon is not shiny, close out of the game without finishing the raid. When you reopen it, you will be back at your save point.
2. At your save point, go into the den and catch the pokemon again. Follow step 4 to check your seed again. This should tell you exactly how many frames you are away from your shiny.
Alternatively, you could try doing step 13 again, but skipping 4 times instead of 3, or 2 times instead of 3. This will likely yield you your shiny pokemon. Note: when resetting, do not reset your date 3 days backward. Simply skip forward from the date you are currently. NEVER reset your date backward.
How do I change the shiny pokemon in the den?
It’s easy! Simply close out of your game and return to the save point. From here, repeat step 13. You will notice that the first 3 pokemon you encounter are the same, but the 4th (your shiny) is different. You can repeat this process over and over until you find the shiny you want!
This concludes my shiny den exploit guide! I hope to anyone that used it that it worked for you, and that you found the shiny pokemon you sought! If it didn’t work, or you still find yourself hopelessly confused, feel free to DM me or send me an ask. I would be glad to walk you through this process step-by-step and answer any questions you might have!

I took a few sips of my boyfriend’s coffee this morning and I’ve been jittery with a headache for the past 5 hours.
A big factor in my panic today is that the semester starts tmrw ! I’m taking 16 units (3 classes). Calculus is 5 units, python (computer science) is 4 units and linguistics is 3 units. Only python is synchronous as this is the first time they’re offering it ! Calc and ling are async and don’t have mandatory live class meetings. I looked at the syllabi for all my classes and know that as long as I am organised and disciplined I can handle this on top of my full-time job. Last semester I took precalc and data structures and the semester before tt I took Java and databases. So, so far I’ve been okay with 2 classes.
I really miss linguistics and this intro linguistics class is meant to be a refresher. I even used the same textbook in undergrad - an older edition though. Everything in the syllabus is familiar to me.
The python class has set class times Monday and Wednesday from 18h to 20h10. This is the same as my precalc class. Last semester, having live precalc class and a professor who concurrently was a full-time high school teacher was really good for my learning. The live lectures gave me an opportunity to ask questions and since he also had a full-time job outside of teaching us, he had very flexible deadlines for homework (just turn it in by the end of the semester). I was able turn my hw in on time every week until about November 2020 (so the last month of the semester) bc covid cases soared at work, my new boss was hired and I had to stay past 17h more often.
My data structures class was a struggle. It was asynchronous. It was the first time the prof was teaching this subject. She was very disorganised and didn’t publish or mark homework and quizzes on time. We went from 40 students to like 15 by the end of it. The syllabi was basically null where we would have multiple chapters overlap even though it was supposed to be 1 chapter per week bc she would publish things midweek. The keys to her exams were wrong and we would have to write her and justify why we should receive points for questions marked incorrectly. The only reason I survived was bc of the discord my classmates created.
I am afraid that I am taking on too much not because my job is intellectually difficult but that it is very tiring and the hours can vary. I wish I could use the bulk of my waking hours and energy on school instead. The part of me that has very high expectations for myself wants to do the best in all my classes and work and I know I can’t do that.
My calc class has optional live lecture on Mondays from 13h to 14h but I absolutely cannot stealthy participate. If I had a set lunch hour and a private place maybe I could. But I don’t have those, I pretty much work through my lunch and sit in an open shared area and I don’t want my employer to know I’m in school for something unrelated to my job. Everything will be recorded and viewable later. I wrote to the prof and asked about exam protocol. Luckily there is no live exam tt will be invigilated over zoom. We just have to turn the exam in before midnight on Friday. I am debating if I should I use my floating hours to maybe leave work 1 hour early on exam days ? The past semester I only took time off for the final exams.
If I wasn’t such an overachiever, I would be able to settle for just python and calculus. That seems like a more doable balance. I’m trying to convince myself tt my ling class will be an “easy” class but there are readings and discussion posts and essays tt you have to write. Another reason I’m piling these classes on now is that this may be the last semester tt is fully remote / online. Bc of my job I otherwise wouldn’t be able to attend these classes if they were offered in the day time.
I’m already panicking a bit and tempted to just drop all my classes and focus on work. I know all these choices are in my power. I get to choose what I want to do. I am in a privileged position where I have a full-time job and with this money I earn I can attend community college on top of already having my BA. But I also think about people who have the luxury and financial means to not work and just focus on school. I think about ppl who are born into generational wealth and they don’t have to be as pragmatic about what they do, they can ~follow their dreams~, they don’t have to think about supporting their family members or sending money back home or wonder about how/if their parents will be able to retire.
Every time I think about just working and not doing school at the same I’m reminded that I’m an immigrant and my mum did not bring me here for me not to try my best, for me not to make the most of the one life I have.

Not exactly 2 dreams in one but my gender along with my entire identity switched in the goddamn middle and I can pinpoint exactly when.
Dreamt about first day of the next semester. There was a class on Tenkuu Shinpan volume 21. The previous volumes had been taught in the previous years. I had apparently already validated that class and was writing my dossier de master on Juo. That's right. Fucking anime academy. That was the nice part of the dream. Everything else is straight up nightmare.
The 2nd day of the semester, so a Tuesday (but it also was a Wednesday). My first class is at 11. I wake up on time but I am asked by my mom to help prepare the mayonnaise to go with the cake (the properly salted kind, don't go imagining chocolate cake please). Something overcomes me, I become absolutely sure I am supposed to leave the house at 11. So I accept. First class was class on a Latin author (with Mrs T.) and the next one at 13h was class on a Greek author (with Mrs W). I come back to my senses when I realize we don't have enough eggs. Shouldn't have been a problem in retrospect but dream me had this recipe in which there were like 9 eggs. Idk either. So I come back to my senses and see the time. It's past 11 by almost 15 minutes. My heart drops and I almost break down crying. It's a teach I really like and it's the first class of the semester. My dad had at home work apparently despite there clearly not being a pandemic anymore, so he goes it's okay, I'll go take the car and drive you, you'll get there around 11h36 so a bit late but you'll be fine, your class is 2h. I accept.
I go fetch my pc to put in my bag, i take one of the muffins that are still on the table aware I won't be able to eat anything else that day. It's not cooked enough, I tell my mom. She doesn't even look like my mom anymore.
I don't have my headphones. I don't have my good shoes. I don't have a good coat (it's January). At least I have an umbrella in my bag, dream me thinks. So I'm in the car with Dad and someone else. Not sure who. Anyway he drives faster than ever before, trying to gain time, make me get there sooner. We're behind a truck almost big enough for our car to fit underneath. Some smol car does it. I am horrified and once more reminded of why I usually go by public transportation.
The road goes a bit up, to meet with tramway lines. There's one so we let it pass then there we go. My dad passes the thing that decides which way the train tracks go and then he accelerates. It's the kind of tracks that go way off the ground. It's horrible for me normally but at that speed I'm almost crying. The way down is worse. I am grabbing the thing between seats with so much strength I think it broke. My dad suddenly escapes the highway (by the left?????) and there we are in Lille. I have to take the subway to my destination. My dad leads me to a place he says is a secret place. Suddenly it's night. I've come here before and it also was night. I have to get on top of the fountain/statue thing and then I'll be able to get exactly where I want. I see a sign for the subway so I tell him thanks for driving me. My feet aren't walking, my legs are heavy, I can't walk even the few meters that separate me and the subway entrance. The usual. I am almost crying. As soon as I get out of the place my dad lead me too, it's back to being day. There are 3 stairs. Two automatic ones going up, one normal one but with only people going up on it, not giving a chance to people going down to, like, use it. The 3rd stair (automatic) is very much working but there's no one using it so I get a little mad and tell them to use that one instead of using the only one we can use. I force my way through and get some nasty stares. Turns out it's an automatic stair going down that the people used upside down for some reason. My legs still aren't working so I use my arms. I drag my myself using the stair rail. I think, like every time, that decidedly, if my legs don't work then at least my abs are amazing (my position is almost parallel to the ground. I can advance safely so long as I don't touch the ground. It's the rule. So with my arms grabbing on the rail, I'm almost horizontal, my body not touching ground)
Except that now that I have reached the subway station, there aren't any rails left anywhere (btw it's around 12h30 now. I know I won't be there on time I just want to get there before the next class). So I go by foot, super slow, everything burns and shame does even more. I check the itinerary to find the right one. Uni is the next station but it's not here to embark, the one I'm at goes the other way. So I ask a nice looking guy where I can find the subway that goes the other way. "probablement là-bas" he says, pointing somewhere that deeeefinitely looks like a bus. Great, I think, the station to take it the other way is so far I have to take the bus. I thank the man and drag myself there, hoping the bus won't be gone by the time I make it. Thankfully, it's not. People are embarking when I get there. I get inside with the others. I go to take a seat but the bus starts so, a bit startled, I stay petrified against the wall, trying to stay up. Oh and suddenly we're in the sky. The girl that went in right before me looks at me expectantly. I look back at her like ?? And she says "well? Aren't you going to take the wheel?" I answer something very smart like "what?" and then I look to the front and there's not only no one driving but also we're diving straight to the ground. No one is moving to go help, everyone is sitting, eyes foggy. I say "no way!" and she's like "what do you want us all to die?" now is my tongue's time not to work properly. I want to tell her I don't have a driving licence, and especially not for a bus, that I am scared and I don't even know the way it's supposed to go. All I manage to say is "j'ai le vertige" so she sighs and undoes her belt, walks past me to get to the driver's seat. Not having a licence isn't too big of a deal apparently. As she passes me, (and time is slowing down around me I think bc it takes her a while to), she tells me to get a seat. Had been a while since she had read the Iliad like that. Urgh, I think, not the Iliad again. I still take a seat (takes me a while to get there but at least I could drag myself with the headrests so it went quicker than expected) then some words start appearing directly on my eyes or on my brain. A study in scarlet, the author's name and the first words and I am so freaked out, my heart is beating ten times too fast. I resist it but there's this threat connecting the words and it's imposing the story to my brain. I am crying.
After the first page is over, the bus is there. I painstakingly manage to get out and on to the subway station. Looking back it's very much not the station of my uni but in the dream it is. I see two girls from my class so I begin to follow them as I don't want to be alone. But I realize they go the wrong way. I turn around and start walking toward the school. And I walk and I walk and I walk and I almost collapse. It's taking me way too long to just walk 30 meters. There are no rails. I consider clawing on the ground and drag myself there like so but there are too many people around. It's 13h. I am officially late. I start crying again. My identity changes. I reach the crossing path. It's green for me and I walk and I walk and I see no end and it turns red before I reach the other side. I have inappropriate thoughts and slap myself to get rid of them. I know they're wrong but I can't help it. I'm sick to my stomach and my legs won't take me much longer. I am in front of my uni. It's my high-school actually, but it's my uni right now. The gates are closed. I see some girl equally late, glaring at the gate then move rapidly to find another entrance. She finds the accueil door. I shake my head in disapproval. It's not the place to go, definitely. I've been there for a while. I go to the gate and activates the knob. It resists but I push it past the resistance point. It opens. I now have to cross the little cour before guardians get there. The door I have to get to has some panneau d'affichage blocking it. With my jelly legs it won't be easy to move. But first, to cross the cour. It's wide so there's really nothing I can use to drag me with my arms. I am crying and trying not to think about the inappropriate thing from earlier. It's hard.
Some girl gets in the cour as well. She has guardians after her. I curse her for shortening my time. I know my legs will never allow me to get in the door and be safe before they catch me, now. She doesn't care and she runs toward the door, asking me why i don't do the same. I am out of breath and I can't tell her this is the fastest I can go. I still try. It hurts and it doesn't work. I was more than halfway when the girl had come. She now has gone through the door with no problem. I am now close enough to touch the panneau d'affichage with the tip of my finger. The guardians are there. I won't be able to go to school that day. I have no doctor justification. I'm going to lose the bourse. I wake up.
-
For the stats: normal me through the first part. Cis man from the identity change moment and to the end. Legal name called through first part. Not addressed though the 2nd but if I were, it definitely wouldn't be that one.

Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184: Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #1391
(By Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184) Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #1391 Brought to you by ANN Highlighting the May 3366 Single Rainbow This time the Gaming Authorities decided to hold a Single Rainbow event, or as I look upon it, -a Collectors event. While most Mech models have at least some proponents, the truth is that some models are better than the rest. Given this fact, most Commanders spend their resorces on the best Mechs, while those models which is less efficient are sold off as the better rides become available. But some Commanders do keep some of these lesser Mechs around, and when such an event comes along they have a leg up on their opponents. In the hangar we have at least one Mech of each buyable model  upgraded as far as they can come. Admittedly, -for the heaviest models, that is not enough to get them fully combat capable, but against opponents having a Piloting Licence not much higher than mine we are pretty much in the same boat. Unfortunately, this time we were invited to K3. And the regulars would have licences 45-180 higher than mine. Now, -besides the 15-60 additional weapons and 5-40% thicker armor they would have on similar models, that ment their biggest Mechs also would have room for more equipment and be much more effective. The only hopes we could have in such an environment was that some of them had neglected to change formations, or lacked lots of the heavier models. A few minutes before the scramble we signed in on the top. The number of contestants was so high that the initial placement was out on the plains. Excepting Brian Wilson of the Smurf Platoon, and a handfull of 300 club members the rest of the opponents were members in good standing of the 200 club. Some hair-raising fights later we had somehow managed to claw our way to the highest foothill, but had spent about half of the hatoerades in doing so. Question was if we could get any higher? Probes against David Sifford and roward from Northwind Dragons vaporized aginst their frontlines. The next pair to be tested was Terry Harper and George Warren from Warlocks and Dragons Headquarters. Harpers formation blew me to pieces without losing even a single Mech, but Warrens formation was somewhat softer. After spending most of my remaining hatorades we finally managed to push him back to the foothills. Unfortunately, he was on the ball and returned the favor, so we ended up on the foothills again. That left just my fellow ANN reporter Bob Schlomer from Black Star Lycan Rangers as a viable target. After swallowing the remaining hatorades, we launced the half-dozen attacks we could. The first handfull of attacks brought us to his fifth and sixth line, but the final attack left us having two shot-up Mechs still standing when his last pilot ejected. At that point my crew swarmed out to get footage of the action on the rest of the tops. I let them do so, as there was no way we could advance further, and only prayed to the RNG gods that it would end before someone blew us back to the foothills. My prayers were heard, and the footage taken later showed that this event winners had been: Div 1 477+ (14 Commanders): Bernard Johnson, W&D HQ (41m,48s) 2: Fabio Favaro 3: Jeff Haas 4: Ben Rail 5: Gary Muenzel 6: Sal Vezzosi Jr 7: Roy Cheah 8: Claude Poirier 9: David Buchanon 10: Chad Leon Baker Div 2 -476 (21 Commanders): Sherriff Leary Wretham, W&D HQ (1d,17h) Div 3 -373 (19 Commanders): David Sifford, Northwind Dragons (1d,8h) Div 4 -238 (15 Commanders): Ken Fuchs, Northwind Dragons (1d,13h) Div 5 -176 (17 Commanders): Jonathan Schattke, Diamond Dragons (1d,7h) Div 6 -142 (16 Commanders): Grego, B.S.L.R. (2h,22m) Div 7 -108 (21 Commanders): Jack Travis, T.I.o.M.T. (8m,15s) Div 8 -76 (24 Commanders): Stug Hill, Behemoth (19m,34s) Div 9 -44 (33 Commanders): Matthew Le Gassick, *R.V.* (1d,18h) Total Contestants: 180 Total medals claimed: 134 (of 135 possible) Even though the number of tops (and prizes) were reduced, there were still a handfull more Commanders signing up for this event than for the Anzu Run. We had one unclaimed Bronze on Mount Olympus. But when the entry requirement is so high that only a bakers dozen regulars get invites, that is perhaps not a great surprise? The last half-hour saw only two Golds changing hands. Six of the other Golds were held for at least two hours, five of them for more than a day. So mostly extremely strong winners this time. Question then is if the struggle for the rest of the prizes was more even? As usual, to find out we count the number of number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event: .............Silvers......Bronzes Div 1 ....4 of 4.........9 of 9 Div 2 ....2 of 4.........8 of 10 Div 3 ....2 of 4.........6 of 10 Div 4 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10 Div 5 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10 Div 6 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10 Div 7 ....3 of 4.........8 of 10 Div 8 ....1 of 4.........5 of 10 Div 9 ....4 of 4.........9 of 10 On four of the tops (Mount Olympus, K4, K5 and K6) there were not even a single successfull medal attack. The only top where the majority of the medals were redistributed were K8. On the remaining four tops, a grand total of five Silvers and nine Bronzes changed hands. Both Warlocks and Dragons Headquarters (Mount Olympus + K2) and Northwind Dragons (K3 + K4) managed to bring home double Golds from this event. There were no unaligned winners this time, but we had one repeat winner: Sherriff Leary Wretham from Warlocks and Dragons Headquarters on K2. Unlike the normal procedure, -where a past events winner fight for their next Gold on a higher top (against presumably harder opponents), this time the previous Gold came from Mount Olympus. Might I suggest that in the future the winners of the top division are treated like the winners of the second highest division? That is: Being locked on the top division for the upcoming three events. Upcoming event: 10 Red Tons It should be fairly obvious to all Commanders what Mech models are legal for this event. But to make sure: ONLY RED ANTS ALLOWED ON THE MOUNTAINS THIS TIME. Event ends December 18 between 2200 and 2230 New York Time

Mini-Transat La Boulangère
Ultimately there was very little separating the top two sailors with their radically different temperaments and track records at the end of this first leg.
The former had the status of defender in this race and was constantly calling himself into question regarding his position within the Mini fleet. The second had decided to consider this race as a journey of self-discovery with nothing to lose enjoying what he can come to the circuit to search for.
One came from north-west, the other from the north-east and yet Arthur Léopold-Léger and Ian Lipinski ended up crossing tacks barely two miles from the finish of this first leg. Another hundred metres or so and we might have seen a reversal of the ranking, that’s how close a call it was for the top two.
No news is… Right out of the blue, Arthur Léopold-Léger admitted: “In the end I’ve spent more time on the boat during this leg than throughout the whole of the pre-season events…” And so it was that the Mini-Transat La Boulangère wasn’t necessarily the most pressing of concerns for this sailor from La Rochelle, whose primary focus of late has revolved around developing his business as a company director. Indeed, this 2017 edition was in part an opportunity to set the record straight following the 2013 edition, and also about undertaking a voyage that he had been promising himself for over ten years. To ensure he had a positive experience to take away from this first leg, Arthur decided never to listen to the rankings and to sail his own race. It was only on the final approach to the Canaries that he realised that he was about to pull off a blinder.
Under pressure Ian Lipinski is quick to acknowledge the fact that if there is one point he needs to work on, it’s maintaining the even temperament required by any good racer. For the past two years, the sailor from Lorient has become rather accustomed to reigning supreme in the Mini races and now, for the first time, he has felt the very real pressure of a fellow competitor, who posted a more pugnacious performance than planned.
Despite knowing his boat inside out, Ian also knew that the very light airs wouldn’t give him the edge, especially given the fact that he sometimes finds it hard to maintain the Olympian calm necessary for successfully negotiating light conditions. Convinced last night that some of his rivals had already arrived in Las Palmas, this morning’s discovery of the day’s ranking proved to be a lovely surprise and with his spirits buoyed, the sailor becomes invincible once more. A fact he proved once more in this first leg.
Quotes from the boats: Ian Lipinski: “For the past two days, all I’ve seen is my rivals making up tens of miles on me. It’s felt like I wouldn’t get through this. As you don’t know where the others are, your mind soon starts racing and you imagine that you’re the only one to have gone off on a limb on a catastrophic option. Last night, I was convinced that a whole bunch of skippers had already made it into Las Palmas. My game plan at that point was to limit the damage, not go for the win.

Mini-Transat La Boulangère © Christophe Breschi
The race isn’t all about these last 300 miles either though. Once again, I’ve had an absolute ball sailing this boat. I’ve discovered lots more things, another way of using my keel to make the boat lighter and a new way of helming in heavy seas. This boat is such a melting pot of considerations that you feel like you’ll never cover all the angles. Roll on the second leg with some beefy trade winds, that’s all I ask…”
Arthur Léopold-Léger: “The first two days I was ill and in such conditions it’s hard to get the boat making headway properly. I listened to the rankings and I was tenth in the prototype category, which was a long way off what I was aiming for. At that point, I decided I wasn’t going to listen to them any more, just sail my own race and do my best. I pushed the boat flat out on rounding the TSS, in seas that weren’t great, and that enabled me to pick my way up through the fleet as I’m essentially a racer at heart. After that, the end of the course was more peaceful. On a personal level, I don’t have a problem with light airs and I manage to stay calm and focused. It was only once I found myself neck and neck with Ian that I understood I’d ranked well.”

Músicas como These Are Days, Because The Night, Hey Jack Kerouac, Trouble Me, What’s The Matter Here e Like The Weather são interpretadas pela formação atual da banda que tem Mary Ramsey (voz e viola), Jerome Augustyniak (bateria), Dennis Drew (teclados e vocais), Jeff Erickson (guitarra e vocais), Steven Gustafson (baixo) e John Lombardo (guitarra e vocais).
A primeira formação, ainda como Still Life, tinha Dennis Drew (teclados), Steven Gustafson (baixo), Chet Cardinael (bateria), Robert Buck (guitarra) e Teri Newhouse (vocais).
A banda excursionou extensivamente durante 1983 e 1984, e fez vários shows no Reino Unido.
O novo álbum, Our Time in Eden, foi lançado em 1992.

Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184: Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #1364
(By Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184) Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #1364 Brought to you by ANN Highlighting the March 3365 Fire and Ice The Gaming Authorities threw another unlimited event with benefits at our feet. This time it was double benefits. Both the Flamers and the Icers would increase their output by 80% on the mountains. Not that my forces could capitalize on those improvements to a significant degree. Yes, there were rack upon rack of both Flamers and Icers in the armament shed, but they were a far cry from the most powerful models on the market. So why do we keep them around then? Good question. Call it being prepared. Say, in case we get an event where only one weapontype works, or we have to fight on some strange world where the Niode powered weapons dont work. So except for some few weapons switched out, and some rearanging of the Shielding, there were not much to do before we marched over to the mountains. Once inside there was a strange feeling of displacement. We were on K4, but the opposition was higher licenced than some of the crowds we had faced on K3, in fact we were the lowest licenced of all the regulars there. And to make matters even worse, two of my absolutely most dreaded opponents were slugging it out for the top placement; KiloToneRecoil from the Brotherhood of Arcane Dragons and roward from Northwind Dragons. I will not say either of them is unbeatable, in fact I have bested both of them on occations (although that is a somewhere in the past). But that have in general taken me at least five dozen tries, and some inattention from their side. As they were fully engaged and hyperalert now, the odds against us seemed hopeless. But, there was a slim hope yet. If we could manage to claim a spot on the slopes, -and they exhausted each other, we might manage to beat the one standing highest by a late surprise attack. -Of course, to have any kind of shot at this audicious scheme, we had to manage to claim said slope position, and not be dragged back to the foothills by some of the other contestants. Somehow we managed that part, but roward and KiloTone was still going at each other hammer and tongs when the light flashed and it was over. At that point those who stood tallest were: Div 1 449+ (19 Commanders): Fabio Favaro, W&D HQ (38s) 2: Roy Cheah 3: Jeff Haas 4: Bernard Johnson 5: Jaime Beltran 6: Mk Mathews 7: Claude Poirier 8: David Buchanan 9: George Warren 10: Gary Muenzel Div 2 -448 (20 Commanders): Terry Harper. W&D HQ (12h,59m) Div 3 -333 (10 Commanders): Darryl Proctor, Northwind Dragons (1d,13h) Div 4 -248 (14 Commanders): roward, Northwind Dragons (1m,37s) Div 5 -191 (28 Commanders): Jelloshots Suckeddown, T.B. BlackWatch (1d,18h) Div 6 -134 (22 Commanders): Brian Patenaude, Black Star Bandits (1h,10m) Div 7 -101 (24 Commanders): Siegfried Gust, Renegades (1d,18h) Div 8 -67 (16 Commanders): Ila Mari Antonsen, Sacrificial Lambs (12m,18s) Div 9 -45 (22 Commanders): RobertGoetz, I.N.A. (1d,12h) Div 10 -27 (15 Commanders): Restlessmech, I.N.A. (1d,7h) Div 11 -18 (13 Commanders): ShoeShineBoy, Dawn Patrol (1d,9h) Total Contestants: 203 Total medals claimed: 157 (of 165 possible) Compared to the recent Chrono, one additional Commander showed up. But at least the imbalance between the tops were not as bad this time. Still, a total of eight unclaimed Bronzes from a trio of tops had to be returned for resmelting after the award ceremony. The last half-hour saw three Golds changing hands at least once, one of them decided less than a minute befere the light flashed. Seven other Golds were held for at least two hours, six of them for more than a day. Sounds like we had some really unaproachable winners here, unless  most of the crowd was exhausted after the Chrono and was nursing their wounds back home. Question then becomes if the fighting for the rest of the prizes were  harder? To find out we look at the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event: .............Silvers......Bronzes Div 1 ....1 of 4.........5 of 10 Div 2 ....4 of 4.........7 of 10 Div 3 ....2 of 4.........5 of 5 Div 4 ....1 of 4.........7 of 9 Div 5 ....4 of 4.........9 of 10 Div 6 ....3 of 4.........9 of 10 Div 7 ....3 of 4.........9 of 10 Div 8 ....2 of 4.........7 of 10 Div 9 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10 Div 10 ..4 of 4.......10 of 10 Div 11 ..4 of 4.........8 of 8 There were no succesfull medal attacks on the three lowest tops (K9, K10 or K11) this time. Only on Mount Olympus was the action fierce enough to redistribute most of the medals. On the remaining seven tops the total number of medals finding new holders were nine Silvers and eleven Bronzes. Three clans managed to bring home a double Gold from this event. Warlocks and Dragons Headquarters won on the two highest tops, Northwind Dragons won on K3 + K4, while Indo Nusa Alliance was unaproachable on K9 and K10. Warlocks and Dragons Headquarters Gold winners were also repeat winners; Fabio Favaro and Terry Harper. None of the Golds were awarded to unaligned winners this time. Upcoming event: Welterweight Here we get another tonnage limited event. This time all Mechs massing 50 tons or more is banned from fighting on the tops. You can still bring them, but they will be treated as empty spaces in the formation when it comes to fighting for the prizes. Event ends November 11 between 2000 and 2030 New York Time

Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184: Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #1291
(By Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184) Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #1291
Brought to you by ANN
Highlighting the July 3361 Wolfpack
The Gaming Authorities once more gave us an event where each Mech had to mass at or below a certain tonnage, -this time 55 tons
Some commanders heads had perked up at the name of the contest, thinking we finally would get a long awaited Warg event. But no. While we certainly were allowed to bring Wargs, they were not the mandatory Mech this time either.
Now, a Mech is surely enhanced by the equipment it carries, and there are equipment a Commander can buy to make the Wargs fearsome beasts indead. (Escape Pod/Plasma Orb, Unitam Actuators, and Cold Fusion M.E.N.D. would be my prefernces) Unfortunately, none of them enhances Ice weapons, and besides, -my purse was too slim to allow purchase of such enhancements.
Under those circumstances, the 50 tons Daemons was a better choice, but the best in my view was the 40 ton Nephilax, so those had to do the yeoman service in my formation. One line of Novum scouts, a couple Fideses and a pair of Cindrons to give fire support rounded off the formation, and we were ready to go mountainclimbing.
Upon our arrival, K3 was partly deserted, so a spot in the foothills was avialiable. And half of the opponents was still in their main formations, so it was no big trouble to claim the lowest spot on the slopes. But above me the opponents were in formation, and too strong to budge. Darren Jackson of Myth and Legends Team Banzai was just below a deadly trio from the Northwind Dragons; Terry Harper, Ken Fuchs and on top Darryl Proctor.
As beating any of them besides Proctor wouldnt give me any additional prizes, my efforts was bent toward displacing him. Alas, his Mechs dealt sharply with any tries we made, and after a dozen abject failures it was time to call it a day. The rest of the climb was spent worrying about those below me and gaining footage of what fighting took place on the rest of the tops.
So when the light flashed, it was clear thet the winners had been.
Div 1 396+ (26 Commanders): Claude Poirier, Nemesis (21m,38s) 2: Fabio Favaro 3: Sherriff Leary Wretham 4: Jeff Haas 5: Bernard Johnson 6: Were Wolf 7: Christine Mainer 8: Sal Vezzosi Jr 9: Makema Mathews 10: Gary Muenzel Div 2 -395 (9 Commanders): Yusuke Paul Okabayashi, M&L Team Banzai (40m,35s) Div 3 -292 (11 Commanders): Darryl Proctor, Northwind Dragons (2h,23m) Div 4 -212 (14 Commanders): Leopold Hackenbush, Death`s Collectors (8h,39m) Div 5 -168 (31 Commanders): Brian Vaughan, T.B. BlackWatch (13h,26m) Div 6 -116 (17 Commanders): Mike Slowenski, Chess Dragons (1h,5m) Div 7 -86 (20 Commanders): notwillard, Ronins (23h,34m) Div 8 -56 (12 Commanders): Rch Gibas, Arctic Warfare Bandits (1h,59m) Div 9 -36 (12 Commanders): RobertGoetz, Jagdstaffel 2 (1d,1h) Div 10 -22 (14 Commanders): Iaskottelu, RED AXE (2h,11m) Div 11 -11 (12 Commanders): katanaofluke (4h,18m)
2+5(G)+5+9(1S)+0+7(1S)+2+1+3(1S)+1(S)+0= One Gold, four Silvers and thirty Bronzes were awarded to Commanders who obviously had overweight Mechs in their formations.
Total Contestants: 178 Total medals claimed: 144 (of 165 possible)
Compared to the 30 ton event we just had, the number of contestants dwindled by a handfull. Worse was the increased imbalance between the tops. This time a total of twenty-one Bronzes from a total of seven tops ended unclaimed and had to be returned for resmelting.
The last half-hour saw only the Gold on Mount Olympus being contested, while seven Golds were held for more than two hours, one of them for more than a day. Sounds like we had strong winners, or maybe a lack of fighting spirit here, -but which? Hard to say, at least until we have looked at the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event:
.............Silvers......Bronzes
Div 1 ....2 of 4.........3 of 10 Div 2 ....4 of 4.........4 of 4 Div 3 ....3 of 4.........5 of 6 Div 4 ....4 of 4.........9 of 9 Div 5 ....1 of 4.......10 of 10 Div 6 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10 Div 7 ....3 of 4.........6 of 10 Div 8 ....4 of 4.........6 of 7 Div 9 ....4 of 4.........7 of 7 Div 10 ..4 of 4.........9 of 9 Div 11 ..4 of 4.........7 of 7
On six of the tops (K2, K4, K6, K9, K10 and K11) there was not even one successfull medal attack. K8 had a late joiner and K3 had just a Silver strike. Only on Mount Olympus was the majority of the medals redistributed, while the action on K5 and K7 was fair at best.
While no single clan managed to bring home more than one Gold from this event, once more we had at least an unaligned winner: katanaofluke on K11 In addition we had two repeat winners; Mike Slowenski from the Chess Dragons got a follow up win, while Claude Poirier of Nemesis secured his third win in a row.
Upcoming event: Sixty Skirmish
This time the name is the explanation. Only Mechs massing 60 tons or less can be used in this event.
Event ends July 25 between 0100 and 0130 New York Time

Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184: Mecha Combat #1168 - February 3355 DinoMight
(By Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184)
Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #1168
Brought to you by ANN
Highlighting the February 3355 DinoMight
After the 85 ton event, the Gaming Authorities upped their game a bit, and allowed us to bring the 90 tonners for some Mechanized mayhem.
For me, the news was recieved by mixed feelings. Yes, I had a full line of Ignis ready to burn the opponents, and a couple handfuls of Antis/Regis/Aspis to sprinkle as reinforcements for the rest of the lines.
But I was still stuck on K3, two tops over what should have been my regular hunt of K5, and the regular contenders this time would have Licences 50-140 higher than mine.
That equates to 1-3 dozen additional weapions on each of their Mechs, and 30-80% thicker armor.
But again, sulking about the unfairness of it would bring no prizes, while slugging it out might get me some.
The formation was assembled, and due to an early arrival we managed to grab one of the slope positions.
But the scramble was still far into the future, and other tasks were at hand as well.
Then I got an assignment that would keep me away from the scramble. Cursing under my breath, a return to the mountain was undertaken.
My troops had been thrown off the slopes and huddled at one of the lower foothills. Examening the opponents, it seemed at least some of them were mostly in their main formations still, so perhaps...
Quite a few assaults later (most failed) we were again on the slopes. The crew were told I had to go, and that they were to hold as best they could, and to get me some footage of the fighting.
Their stubborn resistance to further incursions let them keep the position, and the footage they gathered let me figure out the winners this time had been.
Div 1 446+ (10 Commanders): Ben Rail, 中臣氏 (6h,45m)
2: Sherriff Leary Wretham
3: Bernard Johnson
4: Jeff Haas
5: Sal Vezzosi Jr
6: Makema Mathews
7: Chad Leon Baker
8: Gary Muenzel
9: Shawn Wretham
10: David Buchanan
Div 2 -445 (26 Commanders): Don Davis (30s)
Div 3 -326 (14 Commanders): Don Lindley, Spirit of Bunny (2d,1h)
Div 4 -236 (17 Commanders): KiloToneRecoil, B.o.A.D. (33m,2s)
Div 5 -183 (23 Commanders): Donald Anthony Alligood, B.S.L.R. (2d,2h)
Div 6 -127 (16 Commanders): Grego, Phoenix (3h,48m)
Div 7 -96 (45 Commanders): Markus Eisenhand, Renegades (7h,44m)
Div 8 -62 (19 Commanders): Douglas Rainey, M&L A.R.S.E. (1d,13h)
Div 9 -38 (15 Commanders): Lemartes, Horsemen Squadron (6m,20s)
Div 10 -25 (22 Commanders): Map Chapp, Indo Nusa Alliance (45m,12s)
Div 11 -12 (15 Commanders): Edward Kenway, Creepypasta (1d,8h)
5+6+8(1S)+9(1S)+5(1S)+4(1S)+2(1S)+0+0+0+0= Four Silvers and thirty-five Bronzes were awarded to Commanders who obviously had at least some overweight mechs in their formations.
Total Contestants: 222
Total medals claimed: 159 (of 165 possible)
Compared to the 85 ton event we just had, the number of fighting formations present rose by eleven.
But again, the entry requirements for Mount Olympus was to stringent for that top to be filled, and this time the most popular top (K7) had more contestants than the 3 least popular tops put together.
All in all, this resulted in six unclaimed Bronzes, which were returned for resmelting after the award ceremony.
The last half-hour saw only two Golds being succesfully fought over, one of them not decided until the last half-minute. Seven of the remaining nine Golds were held for more than two hours, four of them for more than a day.
Sounds like at least on some tops the diference between the haves and have nots was too big to overcome, but how unequal was the situation further down? To find out we take a look at the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event:
.............Silvers......Bronzes
Div 1 ....1 of 4.........4 of 5
Div 2 ....3 of 4.........4 of 10
Div 3 ....3 of 4.........8 of 9
Div 4 ....3 of 4.........8 of 10
Div 5 ....3 of 4.........5 of 10
Div 6 ....2 of 4.........8 of 10
Div 7 ....4 of 4.........8 of 10
Div 8 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 9 ....3 of 4.........9 of 10
Div 10 ..4 of 4........10 of 10
Div 11 ..4 of 4........10 of 10
Pretty static event overall. Three tops (K8, K10 and K11) without even a single succesfull medal attack, vs K2 who was the sole top where the majority of the Medals found fresh holders. On the seven remaining tops, only nine out of twenty-eight Silvers and fourteen out of sixty-four Bronzes changed hands.
This was another event where none of the clans managed to bring home more than one Gold. Currently Unaligned Don Davis won on K2, and the sole repeat winner was Ben Rail from 中臣氏 on Mount Olympus.
Upcoming event: King Chrono
Here we are at it again. No restrictions whatsoever on the lineup, -if you can get the Mech into the formation it is legal.
It is also a Chrono, so sign up ASAP to start scoring the points needed for the (good) prizes
Event ends January 12 between 1300 and 1330 New York Time

Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184: Mecha Combat #1078 - February 3351 Troopers
(By Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184)
Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #1078
Brought to you by ANN
Highlighting the February 3351 Troopers
The Gaming authorities was back to promoting Mech models again.
This time, like in September `50, it was the Trooper that was to shine.
-Except on the lowest top, K11. There it was unlimited combat.
On all other tops, the Trooper was the only legal model, not even one sidekick were allowed this time.
I do have nearly a dozen Troopers, about half of them combat ready, so this might be a win for me. But there were plenty of other pressing ussues to handle, so putting a pure Trooper event on the tops immediately were out of the question.
I compromised by replacing a line in my main formation with the combat ready Troopers, went to the arena, and as we were the first to arrive, we grabbed the top spot.
The crew were left there, orders were to hold as best they could and get plenty of footage of the fighting on all tops.
I got some updates of the situation there, as the climb progressed. Other formations arrived, and a heavy strike had forced my crew to the slopes.
Not the best news one can get, but there were few formations there, and it looked like we were guaranteed a Silver.
Whether my Trooper formation could secure a win was an open question, but that was something we might figure out during the scramble.
However, other duties kept me busy, and the scramble was well underway when I returned.
Hoping there were plenty of time left, the first I did was to improve the super situation by sending and recieving a sixpack, then the trooper formation was brought out.
Unfortunately, that was just after the event had ended, so it did not get a chance to prove itself.
At least the footage taken let me know the winners this time had been:
Div 1 386+ (22 Commanders): Claude Poirier, Leviathan (6m,20s)
2: Jeff Haas
3: Ben Rail
4: Daniel Scott
5: Fabio Favaro
6: Gary Muenzel
7: Sheriff Leary Wretham
8: Larry Vandervort
9: Roy Cheah
10: Dan Ross
Div 2 -385 (18 Commanders): Lewis Reed, Spirit of Bunny (<1s)
Div 3 -241 (5 Commanders): George Warren, Northwind Dragons (1d,8m)
Div 4 -204 (16 Commanders): Ken Fuchs, Northwind Dragons (21m,21s)
Div 5 -161 (17 Commanders): Makema Mathews, "R.V." (13h,35m)
Div 6 -116 (19 Commanders): Richard M Howes, Death`s Disciples (6h,18m)
Div 7 -88 (26 Commanders): DZ_Howes, Heroes Ranger Raccoons (21s)
Div 8 -64 (18 Commanders): Dizzy Cat, MurderMechs (6h,56m)
Div 9 -40 (13 Commanders): Fitzwilly, Jagdstaffel 2 (2h,9m)
Div 10 -26 (18 Commanders): DroneDLXXVII, Mad Scientist 1 (5m,16s)
Div 11 -14 (15 Commanders): Ginger, Jagdstaffel 1 (3h,23m)
On the ten tops where only Troopers were supposed to fight:
0+1(G)+0+2(1S)+0+2(G)+2(G)+1(G)+3(G,2S)+0= Five Golds, three Silvers and three Bronzes were awarded to Commanders that had what might have been pure Trooper formations.
Total Contestants: 187
Total medals claimed: 153 (of 165 possible)
Compared to the Icy Blast event we just had, the participation was reduced by eleven Commanders.
The participation was fairly even, -except on K3 where the curse struck in force. All the Bronzes there, as well as two from K9, ended unclaimed and were returned for resmelting.
The last half-hour saw five Golds in play, two of them not decided until the last half-minute. On the flip side, the remaining six Golds were all held for at least two hours, one of them for more than a day.
This was pretty uneven fighting. But was it because of superior winners, or a lack of fighting? To get a partial answer, we look at the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event:
.............Silvers......Bronzes
Div 1 ....1 of 4.........5 of 10
Div 2 ....2 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 3 ....4 of 4......…….N/A
Div 4 ....1 of 4.........7 of 10
Div 5 ....2 of 4.........9 of 10
Div 6 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 7 ....2 of 4.........6 of 10
Div 8 ....3 of 4.........8 of 10
Div 9 ....4 of 4.........8 of 8
Div 10 ..3 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 11 ..4 of 4........10 of 10
On four of the tops (K3, K6, K9 and K11) no succesfull medal attacks were launched at all, and K10 had just the Gold strike. Mount Olympus was the only top where most of the Medals was in play, but there was pretty hard action on K4 and K7 as well.
Northwind Dragons managed to bring home two Golds from this event (K3 + K4), and we had one repeat winner as well; DroneDLXXVII of the Mad scientist 1 on K10. None of the unaligned Commanders managed to secure a Gold in this event.
Upcoming event: Mountain of Fire Chrono
In many ways this is a duplicate of the February Icey Blast event.
No restrictions on what mechs a Commander is allowed to use, and one of the weapon types dishes out 80% additional damage.
There are however two differences. Firstly, this time it is the Fire based weapons that deliveres additional damage.
Secondly, it is a Chrono, so sign up ASAP and start collecting the points needed for a (good) prize.
Event ends September 13 between 0200 and 0230 New York Time

Highlighting the December 3348 Fire and Ice
The Gaming authorities launcehd another unlimited event, but this time it had a couple twists.
Both Ice and Fire weapons had their outputs greatly enhanced, up to almost double of combat standard.
While I wanted to compete, the harsh reality was that I would stand no real chance.
One thing was that I was scheduled to appear on K2 where most of the opponents would rip me to shreds without breaking a sweat, but more importantly; I would be away on other business for almost the whole climb and definitively would be elsewhere during the scramble.
So as to not put my crew into unecessary Jeopardy, I declined to enter.
However, I managed to sweet talk some who was going there to promise me footage from the event, and later review showed the winners had been:
Div 1 (32 Commanders): Dexter Berry, Warlock (53s)
2: Jaime Beltran
3: Bernard Johnson
4: Jeff Haas
5: Fabio Favaro
6: David Buchanan
7: Ben Rail
8: Sal Vezzosi Jr
9: Gary Muenzel
10: Shawn Wretham
Div 2 (15 Commanders): Chris Zimmer; Northwind Dragons (8h,2m)
Div 3 (20 Commanders): KiloToneRecoil, B.o.A.D. (1d,3h)
Div 4 (23 Commanders): Karl Kash, B.S.L.R. (5m)
Div 5 (28 Commanders): Tom J Fong Jr, Diamond Dragons (1h,2m)
Div 6 (28 Commanders): Daniel Chung, Steampunk Dragons (1d,3h)
Div 7 (22 Commanders): Fredo Gustavo, Black Star Bandits (13h,50m)
Div 8 (10 Commanders): KiloTone Recoil, JC`s Rowdy Bunch (1h,25m)
Div 9 (15 Commanders): Shaggy_Two_Dope, ICP (2s)
Div 10 (15 Commanders): ChucM23, Mad Scientist 1 (6h,18m)
Div 11 (14 Commanders): igbryce78, Mad Scientist 1 (14h,11m)
Total Contestants: 222
Total medals claimed: 159 (of 165 possible)
Compared to the Quadruple Rainbow we had recently, the number of fighting Commanders present grew by fifty-four.
Was it the fact that we had a longer time to sign up, or was it the format?
But the imbalance between the tops was still present. This time a total of six Bronzes from two tops ended unclaimed and were returned for resmelting.
The last half-hour saw a trio of Golds changing hands at least once, two of them was not decided until the last minute. On the other hand, six Golds were held for more than two hours, two of them for more than a day.
Sounds like a not to busy event, but we go a bit deeper and take a look at the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event:
.............Silvers......Bronzes
Div 1 ....3 of 4.........7 of 10
Div 2 ....3 of 4.........7 of 10
Div 3 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 4 ....3 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 5 ....3 of 4.........8 of 10
Div 6 ....3 of 4.........7 of 10
Div 7 ....4 of 4.........8 of 10
Div 8 ....4 of 4.........5 of 5
Div 9 ....3 of 4.........8 of 10
Div 10 ..4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 11 ..4 of 4.........9 of 9
Four tops (K3, K8, K9 and K10) was quite inactive and did not have a single succesfull medal attack between them.
K4 had just the Gold fight and K7 was pretty low key as well. The rest of the tops saw moderate action.
The only clan to claim multiple Golds in this event was Mad Scientist 1 who brought home the top prizes from the two lowest tops. None of the unaligned Commanders managed to get a win, but we had several repeat winners: Both ICP`s Shaggy_Two_Dope and KiloToneRecoil from the Brotherhood of Arcane Dragons got a follow up Gold, while Warlock`s Dexter Berry snagged his third win in a row.
Upcoming event: Cruiserweight Chrono (70ton)
Here we have a Limited tonnage event. No Mechs heavier than 70 tons will be allowed to fight in the arena.
A Commander can choose to bring heavier Mechs, but they will be treated as empty Spaces when it comes to fighting.
This is also a Chrono, so signing up soonest to start scoring Points is highly recommended for those that want good prizes.
Event ends July 08 between 0700 and 0730 New York Time

Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184: Mecha Combat #1008 - June 3348 Daemon Deadline
(By Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184)
Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #1008

Highlighting the June 3348 Daemon Deadline
The Gaming authorities decided to have a split event this time.
On the lower tops (K11, K10 and K9) there was no restrictions on what Mechs a Commander could use, (as long as he had them and could put them in the formation) But on the remaining tops, the only legal Mech would be the 50 ton Daemon.
Well, I had some Daemons, but they were not fully developed yet, and the scramble was at a time I probably would be busy elsewhere.
I hedged my bets by putting a non-Daemon formation on K2 as a placeholder in case I came back early.
The crew was not happy about being targets forbidden to return fire, but were told to just wave white flags and abandon the positions if some wanted it.
Otherwise they were to take notes and get footage of the fighting.
As it turned out, I did not return in time for the scramble, but at least the notes and footage let me see the winners this time had been:
Div 1 362+ (20 Commanders): Shawn Wretham, Death`s Collector`s (1s)
2: Fabio Favaro
3: Jeff Haas
4: Bernard Johnson
5: Sherriff Leary Wretham
6: Stuart Myshrall
7: Bune Page
8: Gary Muenzel
9: Sal Vezzosi Jr
10: Dan Ross
Div 2 -361 (22 Commanders): Don Lindley, Spirit of Bunny (11h,36m)
Div 3 -225 (6 Commanders): Able Hunter, Star League (1h,14m)
Div 4 -186 (13 Commanders): Colin Toenjes, Heroes (18h,41m)
Div 5 -152 (28 Commanders): Willie Walton, Northwind Dragons (5h,40m)
Div 6 -106 (25 Commanders): Patrick T Kennon, HF Dragoons (13h,26m)
Div 7 -79 (18 Commanders): Paul Olenen (21h,18m)
Div 8 -58 (18 Commanders): Rick Howes, Heroes Light Brigade (22h,35m)
Div 9 -37 (14 Commanders): bryn35, MurderMechs (1d,7h)
Div 10 -22 (22 Commanders): Iain Bryce, *R.V. 2.0* (5h,4m)
Div 11 -11 (14 Commanders): ChuckM23 (2m,12s)
On the eight highest tops, where there was supposed to be only Daemons fighting, we had: 8(1S)+12(2S)+5(4S)+
12(4S)+12(3S)+8(1S)+13(3S)+13(3S)= Twenty-one Silvers and sixty-two Bronzes awarded to Commanders who obviously had non-Daemons in their formations.
Total Contestants: 200
Total medals claimed: 152 (of 165 possible)
Compared to the previous (Limited Tonnage) event we had, the number of formations present was reduced by two.
Due to the usual imbalance between the tops (and the curse of K3) the event ended with a total of thirteen Bronzes from four tops being unclaimed, and therefore returned for resmelting
The last half-hour saw two Golds changing hands at least once, one of them not decided until the last second. Flip side; eight Golds was held for at least two hours, one of them for more than a day.
Sounds like this either was an event where most of the winners were extremely strong, or where the fighting was pretty non-existent. To see which, we take a look at the
number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event:
.............Silvers......Bronzes
Div 1 ....0 of 4.........2 of 10
Div 2 ....0 of 4.........5 of 10
Div 3 ....4 of 4.........1 of 1
Div 4 ....4 of 4.........8 of 8
Div 5 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 6 ....0 of 4.........9 of 10
Div 7 ....3 of 4.........9 of 10
Div 8 ....3 of 4.........5 of 10
Div 9 ....3 of 4.........7 of 9
Div 10 ..4 of 4.........7 of 10
Div 11 ..3 of 4.........9 of 9
Mixed fighting here. Three tops (K3, K4 and K5) had no successful medal attacks, and K11 had just the Gold strike.
On the other hand, K2, -and Mount Olympus in particular, had high-intensity fighting where most of the medals changed hands. The rest of the tops had varying degrees of fighting.
No single clan managed to secure more than one Gold in this event, neither did any of the last events winners get a follow-up Gold. But we got two unaligned winners this time:
Paul Olenen on K7 and ChuckM23 on K11.
Upcoming event: Front Line Fight.
Here only the front (rightmost) line of Mechs will be involved in fighting. This means Trample is inefectual, so changing weapons and Shields to reflect this is recommended
Event ends June 25 between 1100 and 1130

Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184: Mecha Combat #992 - November 3347 Anzu Zoo
(By Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184) Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #992
Brought to you by ANN
Highlighting the November 3347 Anzu Zoo
After the Limited tonnage event, we got an event for the suicidal white Lightning Mechs, -the Anzus.
That is, on K11 it was a Maximum 20 ton event, but on the other tops a Commander was supposed to use mostly Anzu`s. We were each allowed to use up to two non-Anzu`s, provided neither of them massed more than 20 tons.
I was a bit slow off the mark this time, and when I finally noticed the time and sent my main force as a placeholder all the prizegiving spots were already taken. However, at that time most formations seemed to contain few if any legal Mechs.
Back at the compound Bruno started updating my Anzu formation while I wrestled with the paperwork. But as the scramble neared a minor crisis developed, and I had to travel elsewhere. When I finally returned, the event was finished a long time ago.
At least my faithful crew had captured enough of the action that I can tell you this events winners was:
Div 1 363+ (19 Commanders): Ben Rail, Death`s Collector`s (21s) 2: Sal Vezzosi Jr 3: Sherriff Leary Wretham 4: Fabio Favaro 5: Daniel Scott 6: Bernard Johnson 7: Shawn Wretham 8: Terry Cole 9: Jeff Haas 10: Claude Poirier Div 2 -362 (17 Commanders): Randy Taylor, P.F.U.D.o.R. (47s) Div 3 -240 (8 Commanders): Mark Shc Wiseman, B.S.L.R. (18h,15m) Div 4 -191 (16 Commanders): Brian Vaughan, Steampunk Dragons (18h,14m) Div 5 -156 (25 Commanders): Glenn Allen, P.F.U.D.o.R. (30m,22s) Div 6 -112 (21 Commanders): Chris Page, Death`s Revenge (1m,31s) Div 7 -83 (30 Commanders): Daniel Chung, Steampunk Dragons (10m,57m) Div 8 -62 (8 Commanders): Alan Lau, MurderMechs (1m,17s) Div 9 -42 (17 Commanders): Don Rafael, JC`s Rowdy Bunch (13h,23m) Div 10 -24 (13 Commanders): NomeOfProfile, Mad Scientist 1 (1d,4h) Div 11 -14 (13 Commanders): igbryce78 (1d,3h)
5+8(2S)+5(G,1S)+7+2+1+2+2(G)+9+10(2S)+1(G) = Three Golds, five Silvers and fourty-four Bronzes was awarded to Commanders who clearly had overweight Mechs in their formations.
Total Contestants: 187 Total medals claimed: 147 (of 165 possible)
Compared to the previous (Smaller Gateways) event, this Anzu event attracted thirty-one fewer contestants. And the disparity between the tops was worse than usual as well. There was fewer Commanders on the 3 least popular tops than on the most popular one (29 VS 30). This resulted in a total of eighteen unclaimed Bronzes from four tops that was returned for resmelting.
The last half-hour saw five Golds change hands at least once, two of them not decided until the last minute. On the other hand, five Golds were held for more than two hours, two of them for more than a day. Sounds like an event where we had some active and some passive tops. To see if that is right, we take a closer look at the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event:
.............Silvers......Bronzes Div 1 ....0 of 4.........2 of 10 Div 2 ....0 of 4.......10 of 10 Div 3 ....4 of 4.........3 of 3 Div 4 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10 Div 5 ....3 of 4.........8 of 10 Div 6 ....0 of 4.........4 of 10 Div 7 ....1 of 4.........3 of 10 Div 8 ....2 of 4.........1 of 3 Div 9 ....3 of 4.........6 of 10 Div 10 ..3 of 4.........6 of 8 Div 11 ..4 of 4.........8 of 8
We had a trio of tops (K3, K4 and K11) without any succesfull medal attacks. On the other hand, we had four tops where at least half of the Medals got new holders. (Mount Olympus, K6, K7 and K8) K2 was pretty intense on the highest third and the rest of the tops had moderate action.
This event saw both Pink Fluffy Unicorns Dancing on Rainbows (K2 + K5) and Steampunk Dragons (K4 + K7) bring home double triumphs. The sole repeat winner was Brian Vaughan of the Steampunk Dragons, and we had an unaligned winner as well; igbryce78 on K11.
Upcoming event: Cruiserweight
Cruiserweight covers quite a stretch when it comes to tonnage of the Mechs allowed to fight, -65 to 80 tons. Here the upper limit on Mech tonnage is 80 tons for each Mech.
Event ends June 4 between 1430 and 1500 New York Time
