#100drawingsproject 18/100 "Growth" - I think I'm unleashing my inner Aughra...

I thought I'd post a little about my creative process on this piece. Attached to this post there are a few thumbnails I did before going to final. Thumbanil A - this is a pretty literal representation of the growth idea. Then I jump to Thumbanil B a highly graphic version of the concept. I played around with that for awhile before taking another turn and going with a more rendered style in the inked final that I've posted here. This version is a little realistic but also very abstract. (on the final this is only the 2nd time I've inked with a brush & I love, love ink and brush)

This style jumping is a good example of how I can be a little spastic art style-wise. For each piece, it's hard for me to decide what style to go with. I blame my commercial art career. It's created an ability for me to jump around in styles but then I don't feel I rooted in "my" style. 100/100: 2 colors challenge - Turquoise and bronze⁠ I feel a shiver down my spine. This is drawing 100 out of 100. ⁠ The shiver runs down my arms, and reaches up to tickle my fingertips. ⁠ I have reached the end. ⁠ I have completed it. ⁠ I have completed this challenge born by chance. Almost as a joke. ⁠ And also with a bit of naivety, not thinking about how long and sometimes difficult it could be to have the constancy to keep drawing. ⁠ ⁠ I really did it... ⁠ ⁠ Do you remember the first drawing? The number 1/100? ⁠ It was the 16th of February 2021. It all started as a test, an experiment. ⁠ ⁠ And now... what about it?⁠ ⁠ 🇮🇹🇨🇭 Sento un brivido lungo la schiena. Questo è il disegno 100 su 100. Il brivido mi percorre le braccia, e arriva a stuzzicarmi la punta delle dita. ⁠ Sono arrivata alla fine. ⁠ L’ho completato. ⁠ Ho portato a termine questa sfida nata per caso. ⁠ Quasi per scherzo. ⁠ E anche con un po’ di ingenuità, non pensando a quanto potesse essere lunga e a volte difficile avere la costanza di continuare a disegnare. ⁠ ⁠ Ce l’ho fatta davvero… ⁠ ⁠ Ve lo ricordate il primo disegno? I love this concept of Growth... the idea that often growth is not pretty and it's not easy. Growth can come from dwelling in dark places. 84/100: 2 colors challenge - Red and yellow⁠ Best fans will remember the 38/100 drawing, coloured in gold and olive green.... well this is a bit similar.
