I haven’t run in over a week, as I started my summer job as a kindergarten camp counselor! It felt so great to get out, and although my splits aren’t impressive, I felt so happy and the endorphins were much needed. Here’s two selfies because I was clearly feelin’ myself.

Running tip of the day:
If you feel like you commonly “hit a wall” during your runs, consider adding a motivational speech to your workout playlist! I seem to burn out after 2.5 miles for some reason, and listening to a speech by Greg Plitt always gets me through that rough patch and back on pace! Check out YouTube for more motivational videos for before, during, or after your workouts :)

By no means was this a fast-paced run, but it was still awesome! My second split was extra long because I had to pee in a bush and forgot to pause MapMyRun...yay! I was smiling the whole time and it was warm out so I got to run in just a sports bra and shorts for the first time in a long time!

Don’t whiten your teeth before a run. It will be painful to breathe and the wind doesn’t help. I personally experienced this pain today. 0/10 would not recommend.

Had such an amazing run in the sunshine today! I drove about 30 minutes to the place where my XC team would occasionally run my junior year of high school. I had a random burst of motivation during my second mile, as I was running a trail that I would run with my team, and got a 6:35 mile!!!!! I’m so proud of myself!

Running tip of the day:
There really are no rights or wrongs when it comes to dressing for runs/workouts! Although I do have a lot of name brands clothes, like Nike, Lululemon, Oakley, etc, old t-shirts and running shorts from Target get the job done!
If you’re going to splurge on workout wear, make sure to invest in a good pair of shoes. I know that Nike’s tend to look the “coolest,” but I HIGHLY suggest going to a local running specialty store and getting fitted! I swear by my Saucony’s, but Adidas, Brooks, and Asics all have really awesome options as well. Nike Free’s are great to wear when you want to look cute in your VS yoga pants and Juicy jacket, but at the end of the day, support is the most important aspect of a shoe! :)
