Hi please ignore this if you aren't taking requests but I have this very specific idea if you could do it:

Sae cheating on Model S/O with their rival model right before a big modeling competition which the now ex S/O wins and to kinda take revenge the now Ex S/O saying to the rival model "say hello to Sae for me"

I know this is super specific and it's up to you if you would like to take this request or not I'm currently looking for a modelling agency IRL

i took some creative liberties with this one. it was heavily inspired by yasmeen khan's 1001 nights. i do not know much about professional modeling, so most of the actual references are obscure. hopefully, this works for you though:

instead of a heart, you were born with a wound, a three-by-five inch gash that allowed the light to pass through.

doubt festers like an aperture, a brief shutter of the lens before your eyes blink away all uncertainty. in the confines of your dressing room, the mirror replaces your face with sloshing light, the silver streams of your reflection dripping down through stained fingers. it's nothing compared to the brightness of your screen, the damning evidence of a murder scene splattered across dry text.

who the hell is she? what do you mean? are you fucking cheating on me sae?

there's a knock on your door. it's alessandro, the stylist. his voice cuts through the silence, reedy and skin-tight. he wants to know why you've walked off mid-shoot, when you'll be back to rejoin the other girls on set. you think twice before you respond to his call, taking a deep breath before you face your interrogation.

there's blood on your gown, right above where your heart used to be. a fist-sized prism flashes within your chest, shot through with the hue of your arteries. crimson for the knife-thin glint in your eyes. poppy for the withered petals of your lips. scarlet for the salt encrusting your mouth. ruby for the iron ore of your tongue. red was always your color.

the photographers line up before you, judgement painted on their faces, both sets of eyes unblinking. tears with mascara make a good cover shoot, but a scornful lover with his other woman make for an even better story. you've long run out of tears to cry, tried your hand in the art of storytelling. the only way you know how to love is to angle your face towards a crowd, to bite your lip until it bleeds. your smile never wavers in its sharpness, every confession clasped tightly between white teeth.

snap, snap: once upon a time, there was a boy who weaved lies. click, click: once upon a time, there was a girl who fell for them. flash, flash: once upon a time, this could have been a love story.

there are harder things to hold than a pose, and your resolve becomes nigh unbreakable. in front of every shattering bulb, you hold strong against the impact force of time. your body is sanctified in the golden light, a yellowed blade across the horizon.

perhaps the next girl would be softer, bleeding flowers into aching mouths. perhaps the next girl would be beautiful.

but for now, you remain cold and hard and bright. you stare directly at the sun. you crush every bud beneath your fingertips, cut your flesh on its thorns. down to its very bone, every wound becomes a scar, every smile becomes a story.

when the shoot wraps up and the other woman steps in, you grin with enough light to cut shadows into her body.

1. Just to be clear, I do appreciate you taking the time to discuss things in a civil and thought-out fashion.

It’s clear you put time and effort into your response, so thank you.  

2. What other atheists have said and done is in no way related to what I say and do.

Atheism is not a religion or movement. It is simply the withholding of belief in any deities. The only thing all atheists are guaranteed to have in common is that they don’t believe in any gods. 

We have no dogma, no manifesto, and no leader. As such, you cannot assume that what one atheist believes is what the atheist standing right beside them believes.

It would be like saying “Well, this one person who doesn’t believe in Bigfoot talks this way about my belief in Bigfoot, so all people who don’t believe in Bigfoot think the same way regarding XYZ”.

3. Atheists are not required to be reverential of anything related to religion. 

We’re not members of the club, we don’t need to follow its rules.

To me, the Bible/Torah/Qu’ran/the Eddas/etc have the same status as The Epic of Gilgamesh, 1001 Arabian Nights, or an anthology of Grimm fairytales. 

It’s just an old book. And I, therefore, treat it as such.

When I talk about a passage I see it as literary criticism of a work of fiction.

4. ...I’m talking in religious terms because I’m discussing theology and because I’m talking to religious people.

As someone with a formal background in linguistics, literature, storytelling, and communication, I know that to communicate effectively with someone you should adapt your language usage to fit what they understand best. 

Know your audience, if you will. So I speak in the language of my audience.

Additionally, it’s not possible to have a conversation about theology without using religious terminology. 

It also has the added bonus of showing the reader that I’m educated enough on the subject to be taken seriously; I’m not just some yahoo talking out my ass about things I don’t know the first thing about.

I point out absurd things in various religious texts and ask believers how they reconcile the absurd things claimed as truth in their religious texts with, y’know, reality, because I’m trying to get people to think critically about why they believe what they believe and whether they should continue to hold those beliefs.

Whether they change their minds is entirely up to them, and I don’t begrudge anyone who chooses to continue being *insert religious denomination here* so long as they genuinely take the time to consider why they believe what they do.

I hope fellow atheists do the exact same thing regarding their own beliefs, because critical thinking and self-reflection are important skills to exercise regularly.

However, as the only belief atheists are guaranteed to have in common is “I don’t believe any gods exist”, talking to the atheist community at large regarding their beliefs is kinda nigh impossible.

2. How I respond to someone’s response depends on how they responded to my question; if they took my question seriously and answered politely and in good faith, I try to respond in kind.

In fact, I try to be polite either way, because it often highlights how the person is being unreasonably and unnecessarily aggressive. I usually only turn nasty after a couple of exchanges if the person is still calling me names for no reason.

3. Make no mistake -- all other religions have just as silly (and horrific) stuff as Judaism, Christianity, and Islam do, including atheist religions. 

I tend to stick to Abrahamic texts because 

a) Abrahamism is the religious branch which affects me most directly.

b) Abrahamism is the most powerful branch of world religions (mostly due to Christianity and Islam, as outside Israel Judaism is typically a minority).

c) The modern non-Abrahamic religions I know well (e.g. Quimbanda & Santería) are tiny minorities -- and persecuted ones at that. 

I try to not go after already-persecuted minorities unless they’re coming after someone else, both because it’s not cool to go after the already-powerless and because I know what it’s like to be a persecuted religious minority. 

When it comes to Judaism, I don’t want to erase Judaism’s claim to the original texts nor be Christian-centric when the text doesn’t apply to just them, so when the question applies to Judaism as well I include it in the question too. 

4. The fact that the goalposts can be moved, as you say, means people aren’t worshipping the deity in their holy book; they’re worshipping their own personal god idea.

And that’s fine. 

But they can’t then claim to be a “Bible-believing Christian” or whatever if they don’t believe what’s in the damn Bible.

Anti-theism/religionism Mythconceptions

“Anti-theists/religionists want to force people to stop being religious”

To be fair and keep it 100, yes, I’m sure there are some. Every large group of people inevitably has its share of idiots. 

However, I have yet to hear of any anti-theists/religionists who feel that way.

My personal experience has been that what theists/religionists call “forcing people to stop being religious” is actually “keep people from forcing their religion on others”.

We want people to stop being theists/religious, yes. 

But of their own volition.

No ideal worth holding should have to be imposed on others. 

People should hold it or reject it based on its merit alone.

I may be 100% against religion, but I would fight tooth and nail if someone was not being allowed to practice their religion in a way that didn’t affect others. 

E.g. I’m 100% outright banning turbans, hijabs, and/or burkas. 

To stop wearing it needs to be a personal choice, not a choice by the government or done out of fear of being accosted by some bigoted idiot while in public.

I’m 100% against pulling off someone’s religious clothing/symbols, be it a hijabi’s headscarf, a Sikh’s turban, a Christian crucifix necklace, or whatever else. If I were to see a hijabi’s headscarf being pulled off, I’d immediately offer them whatever I had on hand to help them cover up.

Just Watched: Freaks (1932)

25 may 18 nigh Number 73 on the 1001 movies list. I heard a lot about this movie before, when I was looking for a copy to watch I took a peek on the wikipedia page while looking for the run time and be sure the copy I got was good I also had the chance to read the reactions from its era, Supposedly the movie was repulsive, the audience from its era hated it and was swiftly archived away from common eyes. I prepared my stomach for this and as I went on I saw what was truly going on with those reactions. For the most part the plot is quiet mundane, Like a soap opera it's concerned about the characters interactions, feelings, reactions and concerns. In the center of it there is a love story very soapesque of the dwarf Hans falling in love for an acrobat, the acrobat goes along with his flirting but all of it ends in tragedy. The debate of the movie humanizing or exploiting the circus performers it's missing the point the movie isn't about the freaks but it's an vitriolic satire of any person who thinks they're free from guilt and contrasts them against the freaks, with the freaks having depth and personality while the normal villains are so flat, an insincere person will see themselves as the normal villains and feel attacked by the humanity of the freaks, it's very insulting and with the insincere values they had on the era this movie must had been a spit on the people faces. Our values have changed but this movie is still relevant in a way or another. This movie is really short and I think that goes for it making it easy to sigest and never feeling tired, it's not scary like some people will suggest, it's very human and grounded. Recently the Queens of the Stone Age song The Evil Has Landed has been a lot on my head, the line "near life experience" came to me in the scene I'm using for the article's picture. These siamese twins, the one can feel everything the other feels, in this scene when one is receiving a kiss the other one smiled feeling it too, that's a near life experience.

I'm extremely proud to announce that Tyler and I finally finished something! After months of working in secret I can now say that our game is called The End is Nigh and it will be releasing on Steam, July 12th (in 5 weeks!).

A little back story….

In September of last year Tyler and I announced that we were working on a new game called 0uroboros, a platforming shooter with randomly generated environments. after a year of working on it, it felt 10% done. In order to avoid it becoming another mewgenics, we needed to figure out how to refocus it before it grows out of hand.

while working on 0uroboros we would take small breaks to prototype a few other ideas, but it wasn’t till December that we actually sat down and decided to do a full game jam and see what would come out. within a week what we had was a completely stripped down platformer with an adventure game “open” feel where the levels were all locked into tidy little boxes but attached in a way where they could be explored… it felt a bit like VVVVVV meets 1001 Spikes with a Spelunky control setup and it felt perfect.

once again what started as a 2 week mini project sprawled into, by far, the largest game (level wise) I've ever worked on. I'm extremely proud of what we've accomplished with this game, it embodies aspects of basically every game I've ever created and I'm super excited to see what you guys think.

and now a little QA to clear up some frequently asked questions:

Q: is this the Steven game? 

A: well it's not 0urboros, but themes from it did bleed a great deal into it… you could say that in a way The End was a continuation of themes that i explored in Time Fcuk and 0uroboros… Steven is the glue that holds all my games together!

Q: so does this mean 0uroboros is dead?

A: not at all! I'm positive 0uroboros will eventually see a release, we just need some time away from platforming for a bit.

Q: why didn't you announce this game sooner?

A: because i have way too many projects that I've announced become vaporware shortly after announcing and I'm sick of it, from now on I'm only going to announce stuff a month or two before release.

Q: what happened to bum-bo?

A: The Legend of Bum-bo is still very much in dev and scheduled to release this year in December.

Q: are you you working on any other projects currently? 

A: no, just bum-bo for the rest of the year (and i guess isaac booster packs).

Q: do you like me?

A: no!

luckily i’ve thought abt this one a lot (i don’t have anything set but it’s the thought that counts)

i think it’d be just something really casual, like, there’s a small restaurant in the neighborhood foggy’s really fond of - it’s not expensive or anything, it’s a real hole in the wall type place but foggy insists it’s the best of its kind in all of hell’s kitchen. there were also a lot of really good movies in theaters may 2015 (which would be about the time we had our first date) so a movie after is likely, maybe stopping for desert somewhere after that. like, nothing extraordinary, but really casual and intimate where we don’t have to worry about anything but just spending time with each other

absolutely like this is borderline canon.

to elaborate, i would think he kisses,, almost drunkenly. like the first couple of times, especially when it’s just good night kisses, it’s very slow and sweet and he knows exactly where to put his hands and when to pull away and it’s just nice and well-paced, it’s just not a lot, you know? but later down the line when things get more intimate it’s like. he can’t get enough, you know, hands are all over and he tries to be very tender and romantic about it but it just winds up hungry and passionate and uncoordinated but in a really good way and. fans self. fuck.

i haven’t gotten the chance to touch on it on this blog but tl;dr i’d wind up having to leave for a few months after civil war, and during that time i’d probably get serious about like. shopping around for a ring. keeping it on a chain around my neck once i’ve gotten it.

so by the time i’ve returned, after everything’s settled a bit we’re out one night and maybe it’s not. a particularly impressive date. it’s not like i’ve planned this out there’s just…a lull in things where the time is right & i just sorta take the ring out and get on one knee

i don’t think i’d have a speech so to speak but i’d at least have a good idea of what i want to say but he doesn’t let me get a word out it’s just immediately a yes

📖 What’s your favorite thing to do together?

hmmmmm i would just,, like being intimate w him. we don’t even have to be doing the same thing, as long as we’re doing it together, you know? like, reading or working on paperwork or watching tv, but joined at the hip while doing it. resting our head in the other’s lap, leaning on the other, etc etc

i’m also into baseball, and foggy is really into baseball (i think football too, based on some dialogue in the first episode?) so i imagine we’d go to games a lot, or at least watch it on the tv(i don’t think it’s been mentioned what teams he’s into in canon? not real world, major league teams anyways. there’s the baseball poster in their college dorm but i just can’t fucking discern what team that is and i’m not sure it’s real. or major league, anyways. so personally i’m gonna go w the mets and giants, which i can get behind. there might be some mild rivalry given i’m real diehard into the rockies and broncos, but it’s not like he’s a diamondbacks fan or - god forbid - a patriots fan, so it’d be fine. hell, i mean, it’d probably be more about which of us hates the patriots more. might have been interesting while payton was on our roster tho.tl;dr sports)

hmmmmmm probably a little,, but it’d be more over something someone did and tbh whoever is in the wrong would i think. i don’t really think communication or fighting would ever be an issue.

it would be nigh impossible for me to get sick with my enhancements and all, so i would just by default. also i’m incredibly doting and know all the secrets and hacks to get through a cold or the flu, and i wouldn’t have to worry about getting sick myself so i could still get close.

i should, like, give him credit where credit’s due, though - when i’m injured or some stupid bullshit? he’s tremendous at taking care of me. i don’t think he’s very good at cooking so it’d mean a lot of takeout but he’d still be good with literally everything else, bc he’s like…….equally as doting, lbr
