Welcome to One-Thousand Cuts!

Do you enjoy challenging retro-style video games? How about political intrigue and bloody inter-generational conflict? Or maybe you're into complex moral quandaries that leave you struggling to tell the difference between 'right' and 'wrong' ? If any of this interests you, we've got great news!

One-Thousand Cuts is a pixel-art side-scroller about a young samurai torn between loyalty and honor. In a dark fantasy world heavily inspired by Japanese history and folklore, this game has a strong design emphasis on simple-yet-satisfying combat, deeply consequential choices, and lore-rich storytelling.

We started developing concept art for this game in the early days of 2020, and starting late last year, we moved into full-time production! Our team is very small--just our lead pixel artist, two dedicated coders, and a begrudging social media manager (who honestly doesn't know much about this whole "tumblr" thing, but is doing her best).

We're planning to host our Kickstarter for One-Thousand Cuts in April 2024 (that's next month!!) so we're trying to get the word out everywhere we can! As he moved into his late 20s and 30s, Harold had a hardcore group of dudes bros. This is the group he hang out with more than the Van Cutsems or even the Van Strawberries and even Guy Pelly. Only Skippy and Charlie van Strawberry survived the semi-cull. 

You saw some of that new group in Vegas, while the press wasn't interested in showing them except for Skippy and Adam. Ps: Most people assumed Adam was one of the RPOs. 

These were:

Jake Warren - his daughter, Zalie,  was one of Harold's flower girls and is Harold's goddaughter. Jake's father is The Queen's racing manager Johnny Warren. 

Adam Bidwell - started out as a Sentabale ambassador and quickly became tight with Harold. He was the only one of Harold's friends who spoke to Meghan at that infamous polo match where She showed up with newborn Archie

Tom 'Skippy' Inskip - nuff said

Given how tight he was with Harold + being worth £200M + access of Chateau Marmont via his fiancee + filmaker, i assumed that the Sussexes would keep in with him. Also, Meghan used his dog on IG ( image of dog wearing union Jack) when she was leaking about the relationship with Harold)

Charlie Gilkes - Charlie and his wife are in one of the most notorious pics from that Meghan + Archie polo match looking at her with expressions of incredulity, worry, WTH ......

Sam Branson - this friendship lasted as long as the Cressida relationship because Sam is married to Cressida's sister Isabella. 

The interesting thing is that i don't think Arthur and Charlie G cut off Harold immediately because they were accidentally in the background of a photo Harold took with a fan whilst in a pub in Holland for Invictus 2022. Ditto Charlie Van Strawberry showing up in Montecito for a brief visit that ended up in an obviously staged papstroll with Harold. 

Once The Queen died, all of them distanced themselves from Harold. 

Ps: I think The Queen's death was a gamechanger for the Sussexes in a way that is best described as death by 1000cuts. Sure, some changes were huge and immediate and we can probably guess those, but the little, many tiny cuts that reveal themselves later also happened. Those will continue to reveal themselves forever ie into future Sussex generational descendants.

How the family handled Meghan is the art of war. You concern troll your enemy into making mistakes and don't stand in their way as they make those mistakes. Meanwhile you kill them with kindness whilst deploying 1000cuts to break them. For a public primed on instant gratification and high drama, we'd have enjoyed the family publicly cutting Meghan to size quickly, but that would have turned Meghan into a victim with lots of public sympathy. Now the race card has detoxified, they can move

Nadia Vaeh - 1,000 Cuts

Nadia Vaeh is an artist and performer who has recently releases a brand new project, “1,000 Cuts.” The cool thing about this song is that the idea was born out of a soundbite from Scooby Doo, which eventually was scratched due to some huge sampling fees. Even if it wasn’t used, the song took on a life of its own, inspiring the settings for the track.

This song is a perfect example of what it’s like to produce great dark pop with some modern R&B vibes.

One of the most distinctive traits of this release is certainly the energy, and the drive that fuels the performance of the artist. Nadia’s vocals feel very animated and spontaneous, an obvious sign that she is actually genuinely connecting with her poignant lyrics, in a much deeper way. This isn’t just a puppet singer popping out catchy hooks: there is a deeper concept behind the songwriting, which really adds weight to the mix.

In addition to the personable and edgy performance value, this release is also quite distinctive because of the sheer quality of the production. The mix is balanced and very detail-oriented, making for a lively, edgy and stark sonic approach. In other words, there are many subtle nuances in this release, which really add to the richness of the track when summed up together. The frequency spectrum of the mix is also very balanced, with a tight, yet deep low end working wonders along with a smooth top end, which adds a sense of clarity to the music.

“1,000 Cuts” stands out for its modern sound, but although the production is quite polished, it is never overproduced, allowing a lot of wonderfully organic  and “human” elements to really add liveliness to the mix.

Ultimately, I’d definitely recommend giving this one a shot, particularly if you are a fan of artists such as Rihanna, Billie Eilish and Frank Ocean. This is the kind of track that will surprise you for it sonic variety, and it will keep you on the edge of your seat due to its catchy, yet unpredictable arrangement. I always love to hear from artists who set the bar higher and push the envelope when it comes to their productions: this certainly appears to be the case!
