Woke up almost in a cold-sweat at 4:30am thinking about a patient I saw yesterday and have been up since. Can't really dive into specifics, but she has been having an issue for almost 2 years now and hasn't really had any success being treated for it.

She casually mentioned in her appointment how her symptoms match up with a nerve disorder she googled. I talked to my supervisor about potentially doing some orthopedic testing next time, and I woke up this morning really thinking about this.

There are two disorders I learned about in my year of tuina that could potentially match up.

I woke up thinking about this and I've been like furiously studying and reviewing them and the anatomy and everything surrounding the disorders and the tuina and the treatment and haven't been able to stop. It's now 6am 😂😂

I am just really excited at the prospect of potentially finding the root of her issue, which is, if true, something that has been completely overlooked by everyone. But also, the idea of there being something that I learned about, and then being able to take that and help to heal/cure somebody... it's making my heart and soul go !!!!!!!🥰🥰💖

I realized that that is something very important to me, and almost certainly tied to my purpose/meaning - learning/understanding, and then using that to help other people. Every time I'm able to do that... the joy that I experience is insurmountable.

I do recognize I'm kinda getting my hopes up, and that there is a chance that all the tests come back negative. Tbh I will probably feel kinda bummed/deflated if that happens, BUT if so at the very least that would be one step closer to differentiating/identifying her problem.

Anywho, thought I'd journal about this because I think it's funny that I've been up since 4:30am thinking about a patient's case. This is the first time, and I have a feeling definitely won't be the last 😂😂😂
