It would actually be quite poetic if Elain and Lucien's book was released in 2025, during the 10 year celebration of the release of ACOTAR. Taking it back to where it all started in their book, if she's meant to help restore Spring, would be perfect symmetry.

Imagine: 10 years from now. The Acotar series is over. All the books have been written.
A new, wide-eyed reader picks up the books. They read about the Archeron sisters. They read Feyre's trilogy. They read about the other two sisters being Made and possessing incredible and mysterious powers. They read about the three brothers: they read about Rhys seeing Feyre in his dreams before they even met. They read about Cassian and Nesta, and how she screamed 'Cassian' on the battle field, trying to save the only man she's ever loved. They read about Azriel, muttering 'I am getting her back' and going into the enemy camp to save Elain.
They read about each sister leaving an indelible mark on the outcome of the war. They read about Elain stabbing the king in the throat with the cry 'don't you touch my sister!'. They read how Nesta fulfilled her promise to avenge herself and Elain, and beheaded the king. And they read about how Feyre reforged the Cauldron.
They read Frost and Starlight, and smile at all the cute moments throughout the book. They read about the potatoes, and they read about Feyre wanting a baby, and they read about Nesta pulling away and Cassian's suffering.
Soon after, they read Nesta's book. They read about her journey to self-heal, her friendships, her finding the troves and the love she feels for Cassian.
And then, the next book comes out and it's about Azriel and the priestess friend of Nesta's.
Wait.
What?
Yes, that's the book. About Azriel, who was granted a whole novel, while neither of his brothers received such an honour. And it's about Nesta's friend.
And then this new wide-eyed reader rushes to the new and popular social media platform and asked 'did I miss a book?" "Where is Elain's book?" "Why is Azriel with Gwyn?" "Who is Gwyn?" "What happened to offer and permission?"
"No", they answer. "There is no Elain's book. Just Gwyn's and Azriel's."
"But what about her story? Her powers? Wasn't she a Seer? Did she not kill the King?"
"Yes. All of that. But many teenagers didn't like Elain and wanted Gwyn's story with Azriel. And Sarah Maas succumbed to their pleas and wrote a Gwynriel book.''
"But it's only 170 pages long!"
"Yes. That's about as long as their story is."
"So, this is the end of the Archerons?"
"It is indeed."
The end.

⭐️ TOP 10 READS ⭐️
I wasn't really dabbling with the book community when I picked up reading again in September 2023 but now in January 2024, I've read 32 books (not a lot but I'm picking up speed finally!) and here are my TOP 10 reads so far on my reading journey 💘📚
Starting at #10...
#10: ICEBREAKER | Hannah Grace
Tumblr media
This was one of the first books I read. It was also my first sports romance. I didn't think hockey would be it for me but WOWZA did Nate Hawkins change me. His and Stassie's relationship was a quick one that took my breath away. The spice? You wouldn't have convinced me of the fllth in this book when I picked it up. Honestly, the pages moaned when I opened them. Such a good read! Highly recommend. I'm currently reading WILDFIRE (Russ and Aurora's story) and cannot WAIT for Henry's book! He was my favorite side character 💘
RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | SPICE: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
#9: SECRETLY YOURS | Tessa Bailey
Tumblr media
Secretly Yours was my introduction to Tessa Bailey who has honestly become one of my top 5 authors. I love her writing style. A third person typically isn't my cup of tea, but Tessa can change you. This was a great take on a little grumpy x mega sunshine action. Julian Vos is a sucker for his girl and secretly a little freak too. Absolutely loved this! Also, I loved the secret admirer letters back and forth. So good.
RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | SPICE: 🌶️🌶️
#8: Unfortunately Yours | Tessa Bailey
Tumblr media
This is the second book after Secretly Yours. This follows Julian's sister, Natalie, and August Cates. We meet both of these people in Secretly Yours. There's nothing I love more than a marriage of convenience trope with a little splash of enemies to lovers, but knowing that the MMC has fallen in love first. August Cates? He is a WHOLE MAN. An ex-Marine who is set to keep his late best friend's vineyard dreams alive, his and Natalie's explosive relationship is a succulent read... And in the bedroom? Well, let's just say. He makes it fit. 🔥
RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | SPICE: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
#7: ADDICTED TO YOU | Krista & Becca Ritchie
Tumblr media
The first book in the Calloway Sisters series follows two very complicated people, Loren Hale and Lily Calloway. Best friends since childhood who both face terrible addictions (Loren is an alcoholic and Lily is a sex addict), they've been playing their families for years that they've been together. They do this so they can help others hide their addictions. But when everything blows up and each realizes the other does have a problem, everything goes south. This book had me in tears. It is emotionally tragic and I adore LiLo SO much. I've read Ricochet and am going to start the 3rd book either this month or in February... Also, you may just fall in love with Connor Cobalt. I said what I said 💗
RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | SPICE: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
#6: FLAWLESS | Elsie Silver
Tumblr media
When in doubt, remember what Big & Rich said. Save a horse, ride a cowboy. If you wear the hat, you ride the cowboy. My first cowboy romance ever and I was hooked from the very first page. We meet Rhett Eaton, a playboy bull rider with a hatred for milk unlike no other. He needs his reputation fixed and handled. Enter Summer. The most sunshiney person you'd ever meet gives this bull rider a run for his money. And the sex? Oh wowza. It's so good.
RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | SPICE: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
#5: A COURT OF THORNS & ROSES | SJM
Tumblr media
My introduction to ACOTAR started off strong. I adored Tamlin (if you know, you know) we follow Feyre Archeron and her journey. I can't say much except you need to read this. It is one of the best series I've ever read, which is why my next 4 are ACOTAR too.
RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | SPICE: 🌶️
#4: A COURT OF MIST & FURY | SJM
Tumblr media
ahhhhhhHHHHHH. I CRIED LIKE A BABY. RHYS?? Rhys is my husband. I can't help it.
RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | SPICE: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
#3: A COURT OF WINGS & RUIN | SJM
Tumblr media
I cried even harder reading this one. Again, I can't spoil it.
RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | SPICE: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
#2: A COURT OF SILVER FLAMES | SJM
Tumblr media
This is by far my FAVORITE. I am a Nesta girly. Deep down, out of all the Archeron sisters, I relate to Nesta the most. And Cassian is my favorite bat boy... Gah lay. I cannot wait for Azriel's book.
RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | SPICE: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
#1: HAUNTING ADELINE | H.D. CARLTON
Tumblr media
My number one book... Is Haunting Adeline. I don't want to hear any negativity. This book changed me. I've got so many book boyfriends, but Zade Meadows beats them all. He is unstoppable. This book had me screaming at the top of my lungs and had me fighting for air. Zade had me questioning everything about myself. He is the dark boyfriend for me. I have Hunting Adeline and desperately want to read, but was trying to get through some of my TBR. I started it and cried by the third chapter so I had to put it down because I just KNOW Hunting will wreck me.
RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | SPICE: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Totally Spies (Valkyries) Chapter 1
A/N: This is something me and my friend @sunshinebingo came up with on Discord. Someone made a comment on one of her fanfics saying ‘The Valkyries are like Totally Spies’ so I decided to watch it and it was AWESOME! Idk who made the comment but she does so she’ll contact her. This is the first chapter of the fanfic. In the mean time, she’ll post the 2nd one soon and I’ll link it to you guys. Okay, let’s start the show.
Btw, here’s Chapter 2
Nesta Archeron is a 13-year-old girl who is now starting her first journey in middle school. She had messy blond hair that was tied in a braided circle around her head. She wore a white button-down shirt with jean shorts and black short, heeled boots. After her mother’s recent passing, her father sent her away to live in California with an extended family. She’s never met them before and is nervous about them. She hopes that they’re a nice family.
Looking up from her phone, Nesta looks at the cab driver. “Are we almost there?” she asked him as the cab driver looked at his GPS. “Yeah, just a few miles. Beverly Hills, right?” Nesta shivered. Beverly Hills. She always wanted to go there with her mother and father. Her mother even told her that she would get to visit on her 13th birthday. However, she had to visit a lot earlier than before. Coughing down a sob, Nesta held her head up high and nodded her head. “Yep. That’s where I’m going.” she replied to him as the cab driver chuckled. “You lucky kid. I used to live there when I was a little younger than you,” As the cab driver continued to rant about his backstory, Nesta stared at the window in the car. She held on to a piece of jewelry given to her by her mother before she died. It was a bracelet with a Pegasus on it. If you rub it before you wake up in the morning, it’ll bring you good luck. She rubbed it. She didn’t feel so lucky.
Down the street from where the taxi turned, another girl, about the same age as Nesta was walking toward the library with 3 books in her hands. She had bright red hair with a white ribbon tied behind the back of her neck. She wore a black tee with a dark purple skirt that went down to her knees. Her shoes were Burgandi red and her plaid green and red socks rose all the way to her calves. She was also wearing a Pegasus necklace given to her by her late sister. She received looks from older girls and little kids. A weird fashion chose right? Well, if only they knew those were the only clothes she could wear.
The girl walked into the library and made her way to the front desk. “Hello?” she called out as the librarian narrowed her eyes to her. Remembering to be quiet, the girl smiled nervously and mumbled ‘sorry.’ The girl placed the books on the counter. “I’m just returning these,” she whispered as the librarian took her books. Because the librarian was mute, she used sign language to communicate. Luckily, the girl was fluent in it. ‘Must you always do everyone's homework, Gwyn?’ The librarian signed to her. Gwyn sighed. Because of how she looked, most of the kids at her school bullied her for it. And to make matters worse, some of them would even pressure her to do their homework for them. Gwyn was up all night and finished 10 times the homework she was given in class. Why did they choose her, she’ll never know. She never had the courage to fight for herself, so why should she even ask?
Gwyn only shook her head. “It’s not that back Clotho. Really.” The librarian, Clotho, didn’t believe that for one second. ‘You must learn to stand up for yourself. Or at least learn some self-defense.’ Clotho signed. Gwyn shook her head again. “No Clotho. I can’t do violence. I’m not like the other athletic kids.” she replied. Clotho sighed. ‘At least tell someone about it.’
“I told you.”
‘Someone other than me. I’m worried about you.’ Clotho’s expression turned from determined to sadness. She was very worried about Gwyn. Gwyn was like a daughter to her. Gwyn, looking down in embarrassment, looked at the watch on her wrist. “Sorry, Clotho. I have school tomorrow.” Gwyn said turning away and walking toward the door.
Once she’d left, Clotho sighed and pulled out a phone with a ‘W’ attached to it. She turned it on, and on the screen was a young man, in his early 20s. “Clotho. Did she arrive yet?” The man asked as Clotho nodded. ‘She just left.’ she signed to him as the man nodded in understanding. “Good.”
Just around the corner from the library was a third 13-year-old girl. She had dark brown hair that was in a braid. It trailed down all the way to her waistline. She wore a blue workout shirt with black workout shorts. She also wore black and dark blue tennis shoes with an ankle bracelet. It had a Pegasus attached to it.
The girl walked into the gym. Inside, it had all the equipment you’d expect. Workout bikes, treadmills, weights, yoga balls, all of it. She turned away from the curious eyes on her and walked to the front desk. “Excuse me,” she called out as the man at the counter looked up from his phone. “What do you want?” he asked. The girl straightened up. “Can you take me to see Unburn Keen?”
“What? Is he your father or something?”
“Yes, he is.” The girl didn’t hesitate to reply. The man at the counter suddenly changed his tone. Instead of boredom, it was now anger. “You’re Emerie Keen?” he said as Emerie nodded in confirmation. The man groaned. “I swear that man will be the death of us all.” he said as he brought out a walkie talkie he had strapped to his waist and called out for Emerie’s father.
Unburn came out from the back of the gym, carrying a bottle in his hand. And it wasn’t a water bottle. Emerie sighed in frustration. “I knew it.” she groaned as the man from the counter rolled his eyes. “Is he always like this?” he asked of her as Unburn tried to walk towards his daughter but tripped over his own feet. Emerie sighed. “Yep.”
“The people in the gym call him Unburn the noonday drunk.” the man replied as Unburn stood up from the floor and flexed out his knuckles in his hands. “Morning my little fire lily? Did you sleep well?” he asked her thinking he just woken up from bed. Emerie rolled her eyes. “It’s noon, dad. School’s over.” Emerie replied as she grabbed her father’s hand to help him stay up. “Thank you for your help. Sorry, this had to happen again.”
“No worries kid. Just make sure you keep your father away from those bottles.” the man advice. Emerie had done that. Her father just happened to be able to buy new ones.
After the two of them had left the gym, the man from the counter received a call from the same man that called Clotho. He answered it. “What’s up Rhysand?” he asked as Rhysand replied, “Did she get the package?” he asked as the man nodded. “Yep. They just walked out the door. They’re heading to the entry point.”
“Good work Az. Keep me posted.”
Nesta yawned out of boredom, not taking her eyes off the window. She checked her phone and read the time. 3:45pm. All the kids are out of school today. She might meet a few of them. The taxi suddenly stopped in the middle of the road. Nesta viewed the driver from the corner of her eye. “Why’d you stop?” she asked as the cab driver turned off his car. “This is your stop.”
Nesta sat up straight. She looked around at where the taxi had stopped. They stopped right in between a cinema and a gym. Just near an alley way. Furious, Nesta turned back to the driver. “This isn’t where I live.”
“You live in Beverly Hills, right?”
“Well, yeah but-”
“So, this is your stop. Now, pay up kid. I charge you for every second you’re in here.” The driver told her as Nesta groaned. Shoving her hand in her pocket, she pulled out 2 20-dollar bills and a 5. “Here!” She threw them on the dashboard and stormed out of the taxi. Once she was out, the taxi drove off so fast that it splashed some water on her jeans. The wheels must’ve been parked on the water for that to happen. Now fuming with hatred, Nesta kicked the water with her black boots. “Asshole!” she yelled, not caring if anyone called her out for her dirty mouth.
“Um, excuse me?” Nesta turned sharply to the direction of the voice. It belonged to a red haired girl with a white ribbon tied in the back. The girl had sad eyes on her face, and she looked like she had been through a lot. Maybe a lot more than Nesta had. Whether Nesta was having a difficult day or not, this girl didn’t deserve to take the fall for it. Whoever she was.
Taking a deep breath, Nesta relaxed and replied, “Yes?” The girl cleared her throat and spoke. “I just wanted to know if you would like some new jeans.” Nesta looked down. Her jeans were covered with water. No wonder some of the people were laughing at her. Blushing in embarrassment, Nesta groaned. The girl gasped. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make you react that way. I have some shorts you could wear. I don’t know if they’re your size though.” The girl said as she took her backpack off her back and zipped it open. She pulled out a pair of tight brown shorts. Not really Nesta’s style, but it’ll have to do for now.
Nesta walked over to the girl. “Thank you. I’m Nesta.” Nesta said to her as the girl blushed at how close she was to her. “I’m Gwyneth. But everyone calls me Gwyn.” The girl named Gwyn replied. Gwyn gave Nesta the shorts for her to wear. “I’m gonna change in the alley,” Nesta said, going into the alley and averting from interesting eyes. Once she came back, the jeans were replaced with shorts. The shorts fit perfectly around her waist. And the color went well with her white button-down shirt. When she looked in the window of a shop, she smiled at her reflection. “I look good.” Nesta said as Gwyn smiled, happy that she got one style right. “I’m so glad I was able to help.”
“When do you want it back?”
“Oh no, you can keep it if you want,” Gwyn replied as Nesta looked at her with surprise. “Are you sure?” Gwyn nodded in agreement. “Consider it a gift from a new friend,” Gwyn said as Nesta chuckled. “Well, I have to get going. I just moved to Beverly Hills and I’m trying to find my way to Velaris Boulevard.”
“Velaris Boulevard? I live there. You wanna walk with me?” Gwyn spoke, her voice going up an octave. Nesta thought about it. She had no idea where she was, and her taxi driver just ditched her. She shrugged her shoulders. “Why not. My cab driver was an ass anyway.” Nesta replied as Gwyn squealed with excitement. “Awesome. So, why’d you decided to move to California?” Gwyn asked her, starting up a conversation.
Nesta would’ve replied if it weren’t for the commotion in front of them. It sounded like an old man whining. “Come on dad! Stand up!” Gwyn and Nesta turned to see a young girl with a brown braid. She was struggling to grab what seemed to be her father off the ground. Her father was on the ground hiccupping. The girls could smell the alcohol from where they were. “But this ground is so soft.” The father said as he looked like he appeared to be on a field of clouds.
Nesta looked at Gwyn who was looking at the girl. “I know her. That’s Emerie. She’s one of the greatest athletes at school.” Gwyn explained as Nesta looked at the duo ahead of them. “Is she always carrying her drunk father through Beverly Hills?” she asked kindly. Gwyn sadly nodded her head. “Yes apparently. Her father was always a drunk. At least, that’s what I’ve heard from other kids.” Nesta noticed how Emerie struggled to get her father to think straight. At least for a moment.
“We should probably help her,” Nesta said to Gwyn as Gwyn looked at her like she was crazy. “I wanna help her too, but every time I ask her, she doesn’t accept it,” Gwyn told her as they now noticed how Emerie’s father was dragging too much attention to pedestrians. “Well, then I’ll ask her.” Nesta said walking over to Emerie before Gwyn could drag her away.
“Hello there!” Nesta called out as Emerie looked up in her direction while clinging onto her father’s hand. Emerie glared at her. “Listen, I don’t care who you are. I don’t need your help.” Nesta was taken-aback by her tone. Wow, grouchy much? Nesta didn’t let it get to her though. “You sure? You’re kinda forming a crowd here.” Nesta said. A group of people were starting to form a crowd. Some of them were even taking pictures. Groaning, Emerie facepalmed. “Not again.” she muttered.
Nesta was starting to feel bad for her. After her mother passed, he started drinking his days away too. It became so bad that her aunt Jennifer had to take Nesta away from him to improve. Nesta missed her father, but she knew that this was for the best. She hoped that one day, he will get better and soon he could visit Beverly Hills with her like she and her mother always promised.
Nesta looked at her with pity. “Listen, Emerie was it, you’re not the only one with a dead-beat father,” she said as Emerie for the first time, looked at her with something other than offense. Emerie was used to doing things on her own. Ever since her father left his recent gang activity, he’d been nothing but dependent on his daughter. Having to clean the house, steal food for them, paying bills with whatever money they had left. She may look like a star on the outside, but on the inside, she and her father were dead broke.
Before any of this had ever happened, her father was a kind and honorable man. He taught her how to do her homework, how to make friends, how to treat people how they wanted to be treated, but most importantly, how to defend herself. Because she grew up on the wrong side of town, she had to learn how to fight, how to steal, and how to lie. It wasn’t easy, but she got it done. And the last thing she needed was someone who she couldn’t trust.
Hesitant, Emerie looked down at her father and then back to Nesta. “What’s your name?” she asked as Nesta bent down to her level. “My name’s Nesta.”
“Well Nesta, you can start by helping me with his with his other arm.” Nesta grabbed Emerie’s father’s left arm and wrapped it around her shoulders. “I’ve never seen you around before. How do you know who I am?” Emerie asked as Nesta looked towards Gwyn who hadn’t moved from her spot. Noticing that the girls were looking at her, she waved shyly and blushed. “Hiya Emerie. Remember me? From school?” Gwyn asked as Emerie squinted her eyes. “You’re Gwyneth, right?”
“Gwyn’s just fine.” Gwyn replied walking over to the girls. “Sorry I didn’t help sooner. I thought you wouldn’t accept it.”
“I would’ve but...I decided to change it up a bit.” Emerie smiled a bit at the comment she made. “So, you live in Windhaven right, Em?” Gwyn asked as Emerie nodded. “Yeah, it’s just outside of Velaris.” she replied as Nesta and Gwyn looked at her in shock. Emerie looked at them with confusion. “...what?”
“That’s where I’ll be living.” Nesta said.
“And that’s where I live too.” Gwyn agreed. Emerie giggled. “What a coincidence!”
“We’ll help you get your dad back home and if we have time, maybe we could...hang out?” Gwyn asked blushingly. Gwyn never really hung out with anyone she knew. It was always just her and her twin sister Catrin. Well, it was anyway.
Emerie smiled. “Sure. Never had a group of friends before. What about you Nesta?” Emerie asked as Nesta giggled. “We’ve only met each other for 2 minutes and we already wanna hang out. Yeah, I’m in.” she said as Gwyn cheered while Emerie’s father said something about, ‘Keep the noise down, Emmy!’
Emerie looked towards the street. “I’ll see if I can find a taxi,” she said as Nesta blocked her view. “Not a taxi. Trust me, it’s not worth it.” Nesta said as Gwyn brought out her phone. “I have some money. Let’s call an Uber.” Gwyn suggested as the girls nodded in agreement.
As the girls chatted about their daily lives, they failed to notice the cameras, the tracking devices that linked to each of their pegasi.
UPDATE: The one who made the comment was @aelinchocolatelover Everyone be a dear and go congratulate her for giving me and Sunshine the idea okay?

To all the people who question and wonder as to why whenever Nesta stans bring up Rhys everytime we go to “defend” her (it’s called critical thinking but whatever) it’s because of one simple fact: Far too often people who hate Nesta praise Rhys- and they excuse his actions because he’s hOt or sO swEeT to fEyrE or a fEminIst!
No, he is not.
He sexually assaulted her Under the Mountain, he never apologized for this.
He has murdered people in cold blood for no reason other than to prove a point (where the validity in this?)
He has ostracized and belittled HIS people in HIS court with the exception of 1/3 because they’re “special”
He gives the bare minimum to his wife and lets her make decisions (she should have this in the first place) and people kiss the ground he walks on because of it.
I’ll be honest when I say I LOVED Rhys, I thought he was absolutely perfect! I have grown from that and realized I should not romanticize a man who claims he works for the greater good and then is classist, assaults his future wife, and manipulates others then wonders why he doesn’t have their trust?
Nesta is bad too, and unlike some people who go to defend Rhys (or Nesta) I can admit that with no hesitation. She is rude, has failed to be a good older sister at times, and has done some unspeakable things.
She has also done good,
After ACOTAR she sat and painted with Feyre trying to make amends,
she broke off an engagement with Thomas because he wouldn’t help Nesta go find Feyre,
She opened up her home to people she did not know because her SISTER asked her.
This is not to say Rhys hasn’t done good either.... but it’s kinda hard to see what good he’s done at this point for me.
If you claim that ACOSF is a redemption arc for Nesta, please reread and consider the redemption she’s already had.
In this book we’re going to see her RECOVER, not redeem herself.
Sorry for this little rant but it was on my mind, I’m open to discussion and coversation because I’m always looking to see a new pov:)

Sarah’s Live!!
- Eris is her favorite Autumn Court member (the Bad Boy Backstory) and she also loves the characters who don’t praise the ground Feyre and Rhys walk on.
- There’s apparently a lot of Azriel (is in there more than Eris) Cas and Az are very close, Az has his own stuff going on.
- Az is Mr. Brightside
- Az and Nesta have a “similar” journey and Nesta sees through his mask, he treats her NORMALLY (mutual respect and understanding)
- Az and Nesta LOVE to tease Cas
- CC2 has a threesome?
- Sarah says ACOSF is steamier than CC2 ( in terms of “bodily fluids”)
-Yes we will find out what was in the box
- Cassian spent a lot of time thinking about and tracking down said gift (it’s very precious)
- Feyre “may be” pregnant in ACOSF
- Other High Lords will make an appearance
-We get to see what Lucien is up to, a couple appearances Sarah says.
-King of Hybern is based off of Trump.
-SHOCKER RHYS IS NOT BASED OFF OF JOSH.
- We will be proud of Nesta’s growth, her growth has been the most PERSONAL to Sarah.

The Northern Lights -an Elriel fic, Chapter One
Tumblr media
Hi there! I’m currently writing my first multichapter fic with our favorite pair. It’s a modern au fic taking place in Alaska. I couldn’t get out of my head one image lately - ‘shirtless Az chopping some wood’. This ridiculous idea quickly transformed into more serious project with a bit of mystery involved. Here is first chapter of the fic, it’s a little short and more like a preview. Next chapters will be much longer, I promise!:)
ps: I’m not a native English speaker, so if anyone wants to beta-read the chapters beforehand, please reach out to me :)
Summary: Elain Archeron was tired of leading a life of never ending disappointments. The salvation is brought to her by an unexpected journey to Alaska and a certain, dark-haired male. Sometimes, the best way to learn about yourself and accept all the flaws can be encouraged by someone else.
Chapter One
She was lost.
That was the first thought which entered Elain’s mind during wandering through the streets of an unknown city. Velaris, it was called. She didn’t really plan on stopping at this place, but today of all of the days, her car decided to break down.
Thankfully, it stopped working just at the beginning of the city. She wanted to call the rental agency but it was past 10 p.m. and no one would answer the phone.
The stars were shining brightly that night and it was an unusual sight comparing to the other states.
Elain found herself so far away from her family state by an accident. She bought the airplane tickets this morning basing only on current flight schedule, in order  to get out of California as soon as possible. The first acceptable option turned out to be Alaska.
She had never been to this state and it seemed like a great choice for starting over. She wanted to get away for a while and escape recent happenings which occured in past months.
It all started by breaking off her year-long relationship.
Back then, Elain was very much in love and didn’t see the big changes coming. That fateful day, she got out of work earlier than usual and she wanted to surprise Graysen. Unexpectedly, she discovered her boyfriend cheating with some chick from a nearby bar.
Although now, a part of her was happy that the truth was revealed sooner than later, before things got too serious.
The city was silent and the only sound wich could be heard was the rustle of trees. It was peaceful and distressing at once.
Elain knew that she had to find a place to stay the night quickly. After all, who knows how many rooms would be available.
Luckily, she came across a glowing sign which led to an open pub. Elain decided that no harm could be done by asking the locals for advice.
The door opened with a squeak and suprisingly, the place was full of customers at this hour. Elain was taken aback at first, because the pub which seemed like a shady location, turned out to be furnished with great taste.
She admired the old-fashioned decorations, fishing gears and pictures of Alaska. It was like entering a diffrent reality. She liked the idea of this place, especially the homey atmosphere.
After few seconds, Elain spotted a handsome male behind a counter. She quickly made her way over there.
“Hello?” She asked but the male didn’t seem to notice her. He looked like he was talking to a waitress at the moment.
Elain waited and turned her gaze to the nearest photography. It showed three brothers at some kind of a bonfire, maybe local celebration. The sight brought her memory to her sisters. They were so far away right now. At one time, all of them were almost inseparable but now-
“How can I help you, darling?” An alluring voice broke her reverie.
She quickly turned her face in his direction and was caught off guard when she noticed his good looks. She wasn’t a type of a person to adore man-buns but this guy was surely hitting it off.
“I-I’m looking for a place to stay the night, maybe you could recommand me something?” She stuttered and blushed at her awkwardness.
He smirked at her discomfort and answered, “Sure, but for a beauty such as yours the perfect place would be my apartment.”
Elain flushed even more at his obvious innuendo.
Before she could reply, a soft chuckle could be heard next to her. Only now she started to pay attention to her surroundings. Just one stool away, was sitting the most beautiful man she had ever laid eyes on.
The mysterious male had black, silky hair and eyes full of history behind them.  He was observing the wole situation, softly shaking his head, and seemed to know the owner, based on the looks they exchanged. The male slowly sipped his beer. He was certainly in late twenties and the most distinctive thing about him was the fact his attire consisted only of black clothes. Elain didn’t particulary fall for this type of men however this time her heart began to beat wildly.
“Cassian, leave the lady alone. We all know your attempts at flirting are always pointless.” The handsome male said lightly smirking.
“Az, if you’re such an expert in dating area, where is your gorgeous girlfriend?” The barman replied with a little bit of irritation in his voice.
“And yet I’m right.”
Elain listened to their quarell secretly smiling. Even with all the bickering, it was certain that the two are well-acquainted. The thought made her realize that they’re actually brothers from the earlier picture. If you looked closely, the similarities couldn’t be denied.
After few moments, Elain decided to joined the conversation and softly added, “I think I’d like to prefer to settle for a hotel tonight.”
“Even though I’m hurting by your rejection,” yet from Cassian’s expression it could be said that he was still joking around,”I can recommend you one place. It’s runned by my close friend, Morrigan, and I’m sure she’ll be happy to help you.”
“Oh, it would be great!  Where can I find her?”
Cassian replied, “The hotel’s just across the street.”
Elain composed herself and before saying goodbye, her gaze fell onto the mysterious male. Az, as Cassian called him, was silently observing the ongoing exchange. There was a shadow of smile on his lips, however Elain couldn’t shake the feeling that she saw a flicker of sadness on his face. Caused by the observation, a need appeared  to get to know him and somehow try to make things better. With a small sigh, she waved it off and focused her attention.
“Well, thanks a lot for your help! Goodnight,” she quickly added.
“Goodnight and we hope to see you here more often,” Cassian added with significant wink whereas Az nodded his head.
Elain made her way through the crowd and exited the enchanting place. Little did she know that this trivial encounter might have changed her life forever.

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas
No. No. What? No.
I don’t have thoughts. I do not comprehend. Give me a few moments (days, weeks) to gather the broken pieces of my brain. I shall be back.
Fair warning: Someone told me ACoMaF is like wrapping you in a warm, fluffy blanket and not letting go while EoS is stabbing you a thousand times with needles. I’d like to point out right now that that statement is false. ACoMaF can be a warm fuzzy blanket at first, sure, but one that slowly falls apart so just when you think you’re safe and okay, it freezes your ass off because it can’t protect you any longer. It betrays you.
Rating: 9.8/10
My Notes (as condensed from my iPad):
I start off and my first thought is: “wtf is going on?” Like, there’s a wedding? Feyre/Tamlin right? No. No. Like, five pages in and I’m reading about dresses and parties and Feyre saying how she wishes she’d one day learn to love her role as the blushing bride and all I’m hearing is no. Because Feyre is not, under any circumstances, just a pretty bride or the helpless princess. She is a warrior among her own right and should be treated as such, damn it. Wtf happened in that time gap between the end of ACoTaR and the beginning of this book? What the fuck?
And she’s not allowed to help? At all?
“Feyre Cursebreaker”. Huh. That’s new.
“I was introduced and passed around” like a fucking toy? Hell no.
“Alone in my bedroom, I realized I couldn’t remember the last time I’d truly laughed.” Jfc. Is it just me or does it sound like Feyre might be in a little – just a little – pain? Huh, Tamlin? Tamlin, who doesn’t give two shits and who doesn’t wake up when Feyre is puking her guts out every night? Wow, what a wonderful and supportive fiancé you are Tamlin. Would really want to marry you
Also, is it just me or does the first part of this where Feyre is trapped read a lot like Just Ella? Anyone ever read that? It’s about after the happily ever after of Cinderella. Except it’s not much of a happily ever after. That’s how I felt. Like this was just a really shitty happily ever after.
Also, hey, after three months Rhys finally calls in the bargain. Right during Feyre’s wedding. Good. Because Feyre sounded like she was so done with this right now. Except she’s so deep in denial, it’s kind of side. Also, like, Tamlin just gave up so easily – he just threatened Rhys a bit and called it a day. Like, no. If you really love her – if you really want Feyre – you should be fighting a little harder for your bride-to-be.
Hey! Feyre gets to learn how to read and write. “Rhysand is the best, Rhysand is awesome.” That’s hilarious. Also, Feyre is learning Occlumency. I’m literally getting flashbacks to HBP and Snape’s lessons with Harry. Fun, right?
Yes, yes, yes! We finally rescue Feyre! Yay Mor! “Not safe. Not protected. Free.” Hell yeah you are!
The Court of Dreams vs. The Court of Nightmares. Oh I love that.
Okay, idk what that whole prison scene shit was but it sounded a lot like Azkaban. But worse. Because these prisoners have been here for a long time. Also, the Bone Carve scared the shit out of me. It better not come into play later – Feyre shared one too many secrets with that asshole.
The whole Weaver scene was absolutely insane. Like, I couldn’t flip the (metaphorical) pages on my iPad fast enough. Feyre needed to get out. (Fuck you Rhys and making her fetch a ring.) Feyre has to get out. Go, go, Feyre!
Wow, this scene with Elain and Nesta went real well, didn’t it? Nesta, wtf? I thought you were supposed to be on our side?
Also, the Feysand training is basically Rowaelin training. Fae mates are just merciless, aren’t they?
The Summer Court bit was fun. A nice break. I like Tarquin. Tarquin is our friend. Also, going down to get the Book, I knew shit was going to go to pieces. There’s no way they’d make it that easy for us. And guess what? I was right
Wow, the mortal queens are assholes. Willing to abandon the island to save the continent. Fuck them.
Also is it just me or did the sex scenes read like fanfics? I’m not complaining, per say, just finding it…odd. Very well-written fics, but…fics nonetheless. Basically, what I’m saying is that Sarah J Maas’s original stories read like my favorite fanfics/authors and you don’t understand how ecstatic I am about that.
Like that throne room scene in the Court of Nightmares? Literally the sexual tension was through the fucking roof. It got so heated. Was expecting they start banging right there in front of everyone.
I mean, so were the cabin scenes, I guess, but that throne room. JFC. Combustion. I was in public reading this on iBooks on my phone and I was like so worried people would take the words out of context. That would've been awkward
Starfall scene was wonderful and beautiful and fluffy and feels
Okay, that journey to the Illyrian camp could’ve gone a lot better. Like, I thought everything was okay, right? And then Feysand go into the mountains to train. And who shows up but Lucien? Like, still convinced Feyre is brainwashed and here to “rescue” her.
And if that wasn’t enough, basically immediately after, we get Rhysand super injured because some assholes just shot him with ash arrows? Like, no. It’s Hybern. Ofc. Fuck them.
Okay, love how whenever Feyre has a question/problem, she just goes and traps the Suriel
They’re mates! Yes! I knew it! Thanks Suriel!
Okay, Feyre, wtf? Why you running away into a secluded cabin? All Rhys wanted to do was protect you.
But lol, Mor telling Feyre to paint her eyes next to Amren’s so they can all judge the boys is great. I love it.
Finally, finally Feyre just accepts it. God, you’ve been family for ages already jfc just accept it and can we move on please?
Okay, Rhys talking about he was dreaming about Feyre for years, even when she was mortal, and how she was all that kept him sane Under the Mountain was just heartbreaking
THEY SHOWED THEM VELARIS AND THEN THEY WERE ATTACKED
I know the nice queen warned them not to trust the other queens, but seriously? Velaris?! The only beautiful thing left in this fucked up continent? You assholes
“So I won my wedding ring without even being asked if I wanted to marry you.” Wow. Figures it would go something like this.
So the whole “let's go destroy the Cauldron” part sounded sketchy from start to finish lbr, so I was just waiting for something to go wrong
I just didn't anticipate it to be that wrong
First Feyre puts the Books together. Which. Idiot
Then Jurian shows up. I'm not particularly sure his storyline (am still confused about his history) to tell us that he's just been sent here to distract us
And then they shoot Azriel. And all I'm thinking is “Fuck they WOULD target Azriel”
And so they can't do shit. The most powerful people ever, Feyre with all seven court lords’ powers, Rhysand as the most powerful High Lord, Cassian as a ridiculously powerful Illyrian, Mor who was auctioned off as a bride because of her power – none of them could live a god damned finger. And I was SO worried
And then fucking TAMLIN AND LUCIEN STEP THROUGH
NO
HELLS NO
I have to be reading this wrong. <Goes back to reread last line of last chapter> Fuck. No.
Fucking Tamlin is delusional and Lucien’s loyalties are ridiculous and you literally just let the dude who wants to destroy the whole world in through your backyard so it'll be easier for him to destroy your world, and all for what?
But noooo, we’re not done yet. The mortal queens show up
And we learn they've given up their whole world to be made immortal. Like, what?
And then we’re thoroughly fucked because  Feyre’s sisters get dragged in
We learn that the King of Hybern can use the Cauldron to turn mortals immortal. And Nesta and Elain are the test subjects
(Keep in mind that I am reading this whole ending, starting from like right before they reach the Cauldron, in line at lunch. In public. And I couldn't scream or flail and it was torture)
Cassian’s WINGS. Omg I almost forgot. Cass no. He'd rather have death than not be able to fly Cass NO
I almost lost it - would've started crying had I not been in public – when they made Elain go first.
Elain comes out Fae, which, yay? At least she’s not dead. And she's immortal now
Nesta goes down, kicking and screaming and cursing the King of Hybern. And that line – that line of “I knew something was different”, I nearly knocked into somebody in line before me because I was so worried it would say she was dead
But she wasn't. Thank the Cauldron. Actually, fuck the Cauldron
But we’re not done yet. Not even close.
Because Feyre starts to say she's willing to do anything – give up anything – to those she loves. To save her sister. And – oh no – a feeling of dread starts to build up…
Feyre fucking manages to convince everyone that she was indeed under Rhysand’s spell and she's in love with Tamlin again. Like, no Feyre.
And if that wasn't enough, fucking Feyre asks – asks – the King of Hybern to break their bond. NO NO NO. We just spent like five hundred pages trying to make the bond are you ducking kidding me?
It happens anyways. And we’re sobbing right alongside Feyre. As she returns to the Spring Court with Tamlin and Lucien
And then we get a Rhysand PoV. And we learn that LOL actually, the mating bond wasn't cleaved. Just the whole bargain one. And also, LOL, Feyre can now be a spy for us. And also, LOL, we got married last night. And also, LOL, I made her the High Lady of the Night Court so fuck y'all fuckers
Tbh, that one Rhysand PoV at the end was my saving grace. I don't think I foul would've been as soothing if we heard it just from Feyre. I needed to have known that Rhysand was on board too, that this was what we had to go with
I mean, I'm still not actually happy with the ending, but it's (spoiler alert: EoS) still one hell of a better ending than EoS. Fml #savefeyre
“When you spend so long trapped in the darkness, Lucien, you find that the darkness begins to stare back.” – Feyre Archeron
The Characters:
One thing that I really loved about this second book was that we really got to see how Feyre grew, as a character and as a person and how she learned to fight. Like in the beginning, she was so helpless – or, rather, she thought she was helpless and should just subject herself to Tamlin locking her up, but then she runs away and starts training with Rhysand and it gets so much better. But not immediately, because that would be unrealistic. Instead, Feyre slowly learns about her abilities and what she can do with the powers of all seven High Lords, and it’s a slow process. Especially in the beginning. She has no control – she’s just been made High Fae, so it’s understandable. But to read about the trials and error she undergoes, how she learns how to winnow and how she works on her water abilities in the Summer Court because she’s near Tarquin and how she finally gets over Tamlin (mostly) and shapeshifts and it’s great. It really is. Feyre has become a bamf and I can’t wait to see what she can do – what she will do – now that she’s an official spy in Tamlin’s Court. She’s no longer going to be held down, locked up. Not anymore. Not this High Fae Feyre. Not the High Lady of the Night Court. No, if you upset Feyre – if you get on her bad side – you better pray to whatever god or Cauldron you believe in that she leaves and piece of you behind when she’s finished. She can defend herself now, fight for her own rights, and I think that’s so important.
Rhysand is not an asshole. What do you know? Well, I never thought he was a complete asshole, even in ACoTaR, because he was just subjecting himself to Amarantha Under the Mountain to protect his people, after all. But then in ACoMaF, we learn just how far he’s willing to go for his people. To protect Velaris. And honestly, Velaris is like a fucking dream. It’s beautiful. Who wouldn’t want to protect this city? And we learn Rhys has sacrificed so much of himself for others, to make those he love happy, to make sure his friends weren’t Under the Mountain and even initially giving up on Feyre because he just wanted her to be happy, even though if it meant if he’d be suffering for all of eternity. Like, Rhys, when have you ever done something nice for yourself? You should. When this trilogy ends, you better treat yourself good. I mean it. That’s an order.
Cassian is amazing. He’s so entertaining and fun and I love him. He’s like the jokester of the group. Except after hearing his backstory, you start to wonder why he’s the jokester. Why he’s so goddamned happy all the time and – more importantly – how? Like, Cassian’s childhood was shit. Azriel at least knew he was special and Rhys. I mean, with Rhys, everyone knew he was the child of the High Lord of the Night Court and thus his powers were through the roof, even if he was training with everyone else. But with Cassian. Oh poor Cassian. I felt so bad because Cassian was just a regular guy who just wanted to prove his worth but wasn’t allowed to and he had to go through so much and he deserves all the happiness he gets right now and and and his wings! I almost screamed when I read about his wings being burned off (or ripped?) and I can’t. He has to be fine. They have to be fine. They said an Illyrian warrior would rather die than not be able to fly, and I don’t know about you, but I can’t have Cassian dying on me. Nope. That’s not going to happen so you better buck up and get those wings fixed mister before I even get to ACoWaR.
Mor is Nehemia. But more badass. Like Nehemia fought with words and subtly, while Mor was in your face and you had to defend from that. Mor is great. I really wish Feyre had bonded with Mor more. (Wow, “Mor more”. That sounds weird even in my head while I’m writing it.)
Unlike Mor, I didn't know what to think of Amren for a while. She seemed okay. She's Rhys’ second in command so she had to be a good person, and capable. And then we learn more about her. About how she's not of this world – of how she's so fucking powerful, she's currently on a leash. (Rhys mentioned at one point to Feyre that if all else fails, he’ll find a way to unleash her powers on the world and kill himself first.) And she drinks blood. Which I did immediately think when Feyre saw her not eating, but I thought that would be too Twilight-esque. Apparently not. Still, she's not a vampire so I'm not particularly sure what she is. I want to know. I want to know what Amren really is, and I want to see her going full out and ravaging the King of Hybern. That would be a sight to behold.
Azriel is my kind of guy. He's silent but he's always present and he's so damn good at his job, it bothers him when he can't accomplish shit immediately. He's like always on call and he's just as capable as everyone else in the Inner Circle and it’s wonderful.,
Tarquin is freaking awesome. I really liked him. I didn’t think I would. But he was an idealist, a young High Lord, and he was like Rhysand. Except not as cunning. I think he would make a wonderful ally. And I think, if we just explain the situation to him, we could get him on our side, making him understand why we needed the Book. Also, side note, Tarquin sends giant rubies personally engraved as a sign of aggression. Like, sign me up please! Where can I get some of those?
Tamlin is a fucking bastard. There’s no nice way to put it. Tamlin is a bastard and I can’t believe I liked him before. Jfc. Did you have to ruin everything, Tamlin? Everything. He ruined literally everything. And for what? A woman who no longer loves you because you had locked her up, didn’t listen to her. A woman you didn’t treat as your equal. And you wonder why she wanted to escape so badly from you? Why she’s still secretly escaping? You are delusional and you are an idiot and I really hope you come back to us (because you’re hot) because otherwise, you’re going straight to hell, a grave right alongside the King of Hybern and Ianthe and Jurian.
Lucien is honestly not much better. Could be worse. Still doesn’t question Tamlin. Still doesn’t try to fight him. He knows Feyre is wasting away. He knows Tamlin is doing some dumbass shit. He knows. He has to know that Tamlin making that god damned bargain with the King of Hybern was the stupidest thing he could’ve ever done, but did I see him do anything? Nope. Just sobbing over a once-human mate. You’ll get what’s coming to you, Lucien, unless you convert too. I’m sorry, but I really have no pity for you. You’re not dumb, Lucien, nor blinded by love, like Tamlin can claim, so I don’t really understand why you aren’t protesting more – your protested more in ACoTaR when Tamlin wouldn’t tell you shit about the curse! Jfc Lucien I know you can do more, so I better see you step up your game, talk to Feyre, otherwise if she leaves you behind, I won’t protest.
With Ianthe, I really should've seen it coming. Because she was just such a randomly introduce character whom we had no background for, unlike Lucien, so we couldn't even see if she was semi-decent and she's complying with Tamlin’s every wish and ignoring Feyre and dressing her up and not an actually friend. One thing I'm glad this book did is teach Feyre who actual friends are and what they'd do for each other. Aka. The Inner Circle and not Ianthe.
“The issue isn’t whether he loved you, it’s how much. Too much. Love can be a poison.” – Rhysand
The Ships:
Feysand (Feyre/Rhysand): Is beautiful. They’re mates. I knew it! I predicted it ever since Rhys’ eyes went wide Under the Mountain. That parting scene. And it’s everything and more that I could want from them. Really.
Azriel/Mor: Is the saddest relationship ever. I don’t mean sad like Tamlin/Feyre said (that’s just messed up) or sad like there’s no chemistry. I mean sad like why the fuck haven’t they fucked yet? Like, Azriel doesn’t think he’s good enough or something, and I guess Mor thinks the same, because of what she had to undergo as a powerful woman born in the Court of Nightmares. Like, no. Literally, “Azriel would likely love Mor until he was a whisper of darkness between the stars” should not be the best quote about your relationship. Please fix this. Please. Someone, anyone. Feyre? Rhysand? Amren? Cassian?
Nestian (Nesta/Cassian): it’s not just me, right? Like, this is an actual thing? I think they’re mates. I also think they’re going to tear each other apart before they admit that, but hey, it’s Nesta and Cassian. That wouldn’t be surprising at all.
Elucien (Elain/Lucien): These two are actually mates. And honestly, I think this could work out really well. Or really badly. Like, Elain is the one who was engaged to an anti-faerie guy, but Elain is also a lot nicer. A lot less strong-willed than Nesta. So as long as Lucien isn’t an ass – which, honestly, he seemed just shocked – we should all be good with this pair. They seem like they’ll be cute.
Tamlin/Feyre: Is someone seriously still questioning the shipping dilemna? There isn’t. Tamlin is an ass and it’s Feysand all the way and if you aren’t Feysand that’s some fucked up relationship you’re behind right there. I’m not about that shit, sorry not sorry.
“I was his and he was mine, and we were the beginning and middle and end. We were a song that had been sung from the very first ember of light in the world.” – Feyre Archeron
My Questions:
Just what are the limits of Feyre’s powers?
Like, she has the power of all seven courts, all seven High Lords. Does she have a limit? I want to see her go full out. The Cauldron was practically singing to her. She would tear the whole god damned world apart if she mastered all seven courts. And it would be glorious to watch her do so.
Wtf happened when Nesta went into the Cauldron?
Like, Feyre said that with Nesta (in comparison to Elain) it was different. Did Nesta get more powers? Was Nesta’s grudge against the King of Hybern going to come into play.
Wtf is Amren?
I really want to know what Amren is. To see the full extent of her powers. Because she will decimate her opponents, especially without whatever leash holding her back that Rhys casually mentioned that one time. I want to see her go to town on the King of Hybern. She better. It’s the least she can do, after everything her friends have gone through.
“No one was my master – but I might be master of everything if I wished. If I dared.” – Feyre Archeron
My hopes/predictions for the future:
I finally get what #savefeyre means
And I wholeheartedly agree
Yes, she’s a spy, but she’s also your mate Rhysand. Go and get her back god damn it.
Also, it might be stupid and naïve of me, but I’m still holding out hope that Tamlin joins them.
I have slightly higher hopes that Lucien will understand. Or at least work with them (Feyre, mostly) because his mate has been taken. But I think Lucien understands and can sympathize better with Feyre in general, so I have higher hopes that he’ll really join their forces and work with Rhysand and see that the Night Court isn’t just a bunch of assholes
Oh, that’s another thing I want to happen: people seeing the Night Court as it truly is – a split between the Court of Nightmares and the Court of Dreams. People being able to see – and appreciate – Velaris (fuck those mortal queens. Fuck those bitches to hell. I’m with you on that Feyre)
Although, the Court of Nightmares does exist still, so I really hope that after everything is said and done and the King of Hybern and fucking Ianthe, that bitch, and the mortal queens and Jurian and everyone is disposed and taken care of that we can go back with Mor and Cassian and Azriel and sack the god damned place. And return the wonderful treatment Mor received during her time as a female in that underground
Another thing: Amren. Amren and her power. I really want to see what the fuck she can do – what her limits are
And Nesta and Elain! I want them to fight alongside Feyre & co. That would be ideal. And drag along Lucien.
“To the stars who listen – and the dreams that are answered.” – Rhysand

Note
I'm frustrated they're already saying that it won't be Elain's book that's why Sarah doesn't want to say that's so happy it makes me angry that Sarah won't stop this agh
I think she is pretending she hasn’t said anything because the announcement is coming and she has to put her “poker face” as if it isn’t obvious that Elain’s book is next
But by doing this she is feeding the illiterates and their delusions once again.
And I’m getting pretty tired honestly… especially of the hate Elain keeps receiving
I really hope that she is gonna address it indirectly in her book
Sarah doesn't want to say whose book it is because they have a specific time in mind where they want to reveal the next book, it's really as simple as that.
Whether they're waiting until 8 months before the release date or whether they're waiting for the 10 year anniversary year of ACOTAR's release to announce things we don't know but I highly doubt the reason she doesn't want to announce the next book is because she knows it's not going to be Elain's. That's honestly a bit of a ridiculous take.
Elain does get hate in the fandom but people are not looking at this logically. Just because they hate Elain doesn't mean Sarah hates Elain. If that were true then why is Sarah on record, all the way back after the release of ACOMAF, as saying she'd like to write a book for both the sisters someday? Imagine arguing that an author hates her own character??? One she spoke of having already done research for said characters book? People have become so blinded by their hatred of Elain that they refuse to accept that it's not actually how Sarah feels about Elain. It's the exact thing we saw happen with Chaol, where Sarah was chomping at the bit to write his story while everyone picked up a smear campaign on him.
As far as the Az's book / Elain's book debate, I think it's silly to assume that a bonus chapter and a part in an entirely different series that Bloomsbury has never said you HAVE to read to understand the next ACOTAR book is more important than everything she's said about Elain. How she knew she wanted to write a book for each of the sisters someday. How Elain had her HEA ripped away from her and had a journey that Feyre wasn't seeing. How she knew who the first two spin-offs were going to be about but was keeping her options open for the third and how her initial pitch to her editor stayed the same. How she had already done research for Elain's book while pregnant with her first child. How she mated Elain and Lucien in book 2 which is a plot that still needs resolved (long before even hinting at the possibility of Az having a mate which is still not confirmed). How she literally wrote "let's help one sister before helping the other" in the Feyre bonus and wrote Elain as showing teeth in the most recent book, how she wrote Elain standing up for herself, reminding us in SF that the three sisters have been blessed by fate and Elain with "whatever powers" she has, with Elain saying she's part of the court and will do whatever needs doing. Where she repeatedly reminded us how they need Spring though it's not getting better but that Spring had been made for someone like Elain. Sarah cannot make Elain more ready for her own book than what she's given us and she and Lucien's bond is at the point where it does need resolution.
That doesn't mean Az can't be next but I do think it's silly anyone is acting like Elain hasn't been heavily set up in the actual series where the majority of Az's setup has come from a bonus chapter and hints of something in an entirely different series. That readers for some reason think she's more interested in Az than a FMC who is literally the third Archeron and has said she's known where she wanted her story to go since book 2.
I also think Sarah already kind of did address the Elain hate in the Feyre SF bonus and even SF itself. To paraphrase she said maybe the sisters are somewhat to blame for their opinion of Elain, that maybe she's not actually boring but has been worried about disappointing her sisters. That she's actually been brave and is capable of getting her hands dirty despite everyone thinking she's so helpless.

So I saw this online - and it appears SJM has spoken briefly about the next book. Thoughts on the final few sentences?
I think that it's going to be a long book is not very surprising for Sarah's writing as of late. It seems like her stories keep getting longer and longer (not that I'm complaining!) which makes sense when she's juggling multiple POVs as she did in SF (dual POV) or HOFAS.
If the book is Az / Gwyn I'm guessing she'd cover Gwyn's secret heritage, her powers, her discord with Merrill, Az's connection to TT, the Illyrians and whatever plots she comes up with in relation to time travel stuff and that gives her a lot to work with which would lead to a lengthy book.
If it's Elain and Lucien? I'd expect a super long book there as well. She's got powers to explore for both Elain and Lucien, probably the restoration of the Spring Court, the sisters finally mending their relationships in truth, the reveal of Lucien's secret heritage which means they'd be heading to Day, the stuff with Koschei and Beron, possibly some stuff with the LoA and Eris (at least Lucien and Eris mending their relationship and his reunion with his mother), freeing Vassa, hopefully getting the peace treaty signed.
As far as her idea of "soon"? I have no idea. Though with her mentioning the 10th Anniversary of ACOTAR the coming Spring, it does make me think they're going to go big in 2025. Lots of marketing for the series because of book 1's initial release date in 2015 and lots of marketing for the next book in the series. Coming in with my personal bias, I think Elain and Lucien's story would be absolutely perfect for it. The start of an Archeron's saga beginning in 2015 and all three sisters finally resolving their journey's in 2025 with the 10 year anniversary? The start of the series taking place in Spring in 2015 and the restoration of the Spring Court happening with Elucien's book in 2025, during the 10 year anniversary? I love it!
