nothing is more subtle or more heartbreaking to me than alicent in the wedding feast scene. and half these shots dont even follow her, they follow viserys shes just in the background, (which just perfectly sums up the way alicent and her desires are stifled by viserys/his wants just btw)

so shes just watched whatever it was that was happening between daemon and rhaenyra. salt in a very fresh wound. and as far as i can work out was literally tearing up over it (if we look at the screenshot above). but then people are screaming and pushing and shoving and alicent instinctively gets up before anyone else at the table even does, still looking like shes about to cry the whole time, right up until the moment she realises its not just pushing and shoving - theres a fight happening exactly where rhaenyra was just a moment before, and suddenly her expression changes to this shot of her blatantly worrying about rhaenyra:

"but lydia, how do you know shes worried about rhaenyra? she could just be in shock at seeing the fight and concerned in general."

because its spelled out for us the next time we see her:

this shows us pretty obviously alicents only really interested in where rhaenyra is. this is a tv show, they don't show someone's reaction to something just for the sake of it and alicent is the only person we see react to rhaenyra being safe. she even appears to relax at the end, as if relieved.

this very clearly sets the stage for alicent's refusal to accept any physical harm to rhaenyra - so we can understand why she feels so much guilt and self-loathing over slicing open rhaenyra's arm, and why she is so adamant about protecting rhaenyra in episode 9 even after everything she and rhaenyra have put each other through. just as rhaenyra has a desire to reconcile with alicent she cant shake, reaching out for her even in moments when shes been given no reason to hope (like at the council in episode 6 and dinner in episode 8), alicent has this desperate need to make sure rhaenyra's safe, even at times when she has no intention of reconciling with her. even when shes at her most hostile, harbouring enough resentment to show up to rhaenyras wedding wearing a declaration of war, alicent still cant stomach the thought of rhaenyra being physically harmed. and it doesn't seem to be an aspect of her characterisation thats going anywhere anytime soon.

I bragged on my doula but I cannot express how much having a supportive partner is imperative while giving birth. Mr. L is the best and only person I’d ever want to go through labor with.

I genuinely have never been more in love with my husband than after this weekend. I don’t know how I would have gotten through labor without him.

I am so grateful to him for anticipating my every need, making sure I stayed hydrated, bringing me snacks, swaying with me, and getting in the tub with me to massage my back when nothing else was comfortable. For holding me in the back of the car on the way to the hospital while I cried from pain at being forced to be sit upright for the drive. For his unending encouragement when we got to the hospital and realized there was no way I was going to have time to get an epidural (Goddamn fucking ouch -1000/10 don’t recommend) For sitting behind me in my hospital and holding me as I shook from the most unimaginable pain (again don’t be like me, go to the hospital sooner rather than later) I’ve ever felt in my life. For the tears we cried together when our sweet beautiful baby boy finally made his appearance. For the “I’m so proud of you.” and “You did so good sweetheart.” words he whispered in my ear as the nurses placed our baby on my chest.

For giving me 5 beautiful children, for looking so damn hot while holding them (preferably shirtless), and for agreeing to get snipped so I never have to feel that fucking ring of fire from hell again.

okay, let's be organized about this.

draco: i headcanon draco as chatty, dramatic, def extroverted, super easy for any sort of affection (going from supreme "special little guy" doting from his parents to "oh he's evil actually" in the larger world means he's genuinely shocked when he's not immediately adored). i usually pick brainy/puzzle-y sorts of jobs for him because i think he likes to talk and likes to know more than other people, so he's suited for something where he can be an expert. he's a gemini sun and (in my headcanon, obvs) a pisces moon. i always imagine draco a little unhinged/ridiculous and not really good at hiding his emotions (he always made them very clear in canon iirc, truly never got the ~ice prince thing), even if he does obfuscate with sarcasm and humor a lot.

harry: my harry headcanons are all about him being a bit of a mess after the war. he very much wants to be removed from the center of attention, but he loves being around people and wants to be surrounded by friends as much as possible. it's hard for him to trust freely given affection and it can make him a little uncomfortable, but he also craves it. he finds it nearly impossible to ask for things but he will stand up for himself and set boundaries. my ideal harry job really is professor or teacher or something with kids; he's so good at commanding attention and then using it constructively. he's protective and jealous and possessive when he forms attachments because he's afraid of losing people/still can't quite believe people love him back for keeps. and he's funny and smart in a lot of practical ways, if not as emotionally aware as he could be. and when he is aware of his emotions, he's way better at facing them head-on; it can just take him a bit to figure it out. in my heart he's an aquarius moon, i love that combo with a leo sun for him.

this got long, so i'll do headcanons for them together another time!! 😊

Yes, the Galvanic Mechamorphs from Ben 10 could kill Macbeth!

(Or, at least, the initially created members of the species could. I haven't been able to find any info on whether or not they can reproduce, and if so how, so for the purposes of this question we'll just be taken into account the first generation of Mechamorphs.)

Inadvertently created by Azmuth when he tried a planet-wide experiment on the moon Galvan B in an attempt to make it habitable, they apply for the Unconventional Birth Clause and Birth Parent Clause! (Note: some sources say that Azmuth was the head of this project, though Azmuth refers to this event as ""my experiment,"" so we'll be attributing Azmuth alone to their creation.)

Galvanic Mechamorphs do also have different genders canonically, and while non-male Mechamorphs are few and far between in the show, this does still mean that any non-male Mechamorph would apply for the Gender Clause. (There's even a the canonically female Mechamorph in that picture up there! I'll give you three guesses as to which one she is, but you probably won't need the last two.)

Okay so realistically speaking, giving birth is an excruciating, painful nightmare, and from the few Crocodad fics I've seen most people seem to prefer to write realistic pregnancy and make Luffy's birth a (physically) painful thing. Because it makes sense, it might be more relatable for some writers that way etc, and that's perfectly fine (like genuinely, it's not an issue at all, this is not a critique or a complaint)

God I don't know how to make this segue- Have any of you watched Ore Monogatari!! (My Love Story)? It's a great early 2010s romantic comedy series, funny as hell, super cute and sweet, would reccomend, but that aside. During the series the protagonist Takeo's mother gets pregnant and she ends up giving birth to Takeo's baby sister. And it's that scene, where Takeo's baby sister is born, that I keep on thinking back to whenever I wonder how Luffy's birth might've gone.

Takeo and his mother alike are Sturdy Motherfuckers. Like absolute gigachads, borderline superhuman, it's great and it's funny as hell. And because of that near superhuman nature... Takeo's mother goes to give birth at 4:15 pm. And she has finished giving birth at 4:16 pm. One fucking minute is what it took for this woman to bring a child into this world. An absolute legend

So Crocodile has better pain tolerance than the average person. Like, you might have to put in a bit of effort to cause him actually hurt. So if giving birth to Luffy was an absolute cakewalk for Crocodile, not only would it make perfect sense in-universe and be completely in-character for him, but also

I have recently come to the conclusion that if my Genshin Impact account was self aware, my Bennet would be slightly even more unlucky than a regular Bennet. This is due to my birthday and since its coming up I've been brainrotting for the past few days. Let me explain:

Bennet's birthday is February 29th, aka Leap Year. This means Benny only has a real birthday once every four years, which is bad enough. But according to canonical game lore, when he doesn't have his actual birthday, he celebrates it on the 28th.

My birthday is February 28th.

Now, I'd like to think that in your typical SAGAU the creator's birthday is a BIG DEAL. I'm talking festivals, parades, feasts, gifts exchanged between friends and family as well as gifts offered to the creator! The whole nine yards! An entire world partying from sunrise to moonset.

So with this in mind, Bennet's birthday would either be celebrated the day after the biggest holiday party in Teyvat (meaning everyone who attends would be all partied out) or during my birthday (meaning that everyone would be focused on ME instead of Bennet, which is just unfair! He can't even take pride in being born the same day as the creator b/c he was born the day after!!!!).

Anyway, if I was isekai'd to Genshin and worshipped as a god, I would simply give Bennet his own holiday. Poor kiddo deserves a win and if it takes me telling my acolytes quote, "Everyone will to celebrate Bennet's holiday. No exceptions, no excuses. And if his holiday party doesn't end up a success, I will destroy all of Teyvat and then myself. :3c" then so be it. That last statement is a joke, but watching everyone try their absolute hardest to give my adopted little brother the best birthday possible would be worth the fear of the vague threat of the world's destruction in the eyes of my worshipers me thinks.

If you add to this brainrot, please feel free to ignore that last part if everyone panicking over the possibility of apocalyptic destruction makes you uncomfortable. Likewise, don't rush this out by my birthday if you don't have time. I'm also in college and have multiple assignments due both before and after my birthday so I know this upcoming week will be hellish in terms of academics. So don't push yourself, okay?

If i am totally honest I kind of don't like how harsh some of the fandom is at Greg sometimes for being literally homeless and having a magical gem son at the same time. For sure there are places where Greg actually messed up but I feel like in the case of Steven partially growing up in a van and not really having access to medical care and lacking structure because of it is like. Homeless and poor people have kids and its not a moral failing on their part for our society not helping them meet their needs, yknow?
