I must say something

When people write Ven as a "goodest boy who can never be angry at anyone," it bugs me a lot. That boy has a hidden well of rage unparalleled by anyone's but perhaps Dick Grayson (Jesse McCartney voices both and both have a hidden well of rage that often gets ignored by the fandom because "sunshine uwu boy")

I dunno, I just thought of it and wanted to share with the class

You’re right!! Oftentimes, kind characters like Ven are treated as though they’re immune to anger. As though they’re “too pure” or “too soft” or whatever other reason to ever feel that type of way. And sure, there are characters who are like that out there and that’s fine. But Ven isn’t one of them. We see that he’s often motivated by anger and frustration. He’s a kid who’s been kept in the dark about who he is. He wants to prove himself and gain independence. And he wants to fend off the threats being made against his friends. I think anger’s an integral part of who he is, actually (in bbs at least), and it’s interesting to think about how it propels him forward throughout the story.

(Khml rumor/spoiler)

After giving it a quick rewatch, I’m actually very excited for Raya in khml, it feels thematically on point. I can see the potential for parallels between Kumandra and Scala: them dividing into rival groups, fighting over the source of light that holds back the darkness (born of human conflict). They even phrase it as ‘the world breaking apart’ in the film. The flashback scene with the 5 last dragons is reminiscent of the Union leaders vs. darkness at the end of UX. (The dragons as a whole could be seen as a parallel to the lost dandelions too.)

It makes total sense that trust/hope will be theme of KHML, what with the various societies and characters like Remus and Nept who seem a little.. sketch. Maybe Player will come out of this world with renewed hope for a united Scala?
