Gender Headcanon: i love transfem sigma so much. but also to me their.. idk "birth gender" is not the right term probably but like. the gender they were created as is not strictly male or female. it's sort of both and sort of neither. so transfem sigma to me isn't necessarily male -> fem-aligned; it's closer to intersex -> fem-aligned i guess?

A ship I have with said character: okay so. i usually just say i don't ship sigma with anyone but admittedly,, i have seen some very cute sigsano art that is lowkey converting me BUT there are conditions that must be met for that ship which are 1. sigma is transfem/nonbinary (bc i hc yosano as a lesbian) 2. if it's canon universe, sigma needs to have some time to themself to figure out what they want to do with their life and become comfortable finally living as a person with autonomy over themself. and 3. it's probably closer to a qpr than a typical romantic relationship bc sigma is still definitely on both the aro and ace spectrums also siglai to me is like. not romantic, not platonic, but a secret third thing that is somewhere in between

It’s almost unfair that I made myself choose only one for each category, but yes, if I must, this is The One Smut for me. To put it mildly, it makes me weak in the knees every time I read it. It must have been like five times by now. To be read with the AC on and a glass of water by your side. Gotta love p*rn with feelings.

2. Favorite multi chapter: Faking It by @goingslightlymads

Am I biased when talking about this fic? Yes, because it was one of my Secret Santa gifts. Do I think I am unfair? Nope, not at all! I’ve never had any other experience in Cycling RPF like when I read (scratch that, binged) this one: it made me laugh and cry and it had my heart racing and had me hugging pillows at 3am. What a ride.

3. Favorite Sci-fi AU: jonas vingegaard goes back to the sea by @bakurasilver

Beautiful and clever. A reflection on the meaning of life and love, undercover as sci-fi. Bawled my eyes out with this one.

4. Favorite Fantasy AU: Fierce Creatures by @inbetweenpages

I never once had given any thoughts about geese before this fic. Also this is the only cycling fic where the main character is not one of the cyclists, but an adorably exhausted old goose (at least the way I see it, because frankly, what a scene stealer). It changed my core!!

hiya again yam! i can't think of any hanamusa stuff to ask/talk about currently, so i've decided to ask about one of the shows you work on! i have a few (extended) family members who like the show, and by extension, i've caught much more than a few episodes (i always think of hanamusa when i hear the theme LOL)! and 2) (idk if this is NDA-able or not so if it is please feel free to disregard LOL) did the scriptwriters consult you for gloria's parents speaking jp in the episode where she was like, showing off her 偽物の life to her parents? i'm always interested in hearing about the processes writers go through in including different languages in shows, especially kids' ones... *especially* in confirming that it's accurate enough which is why i ask. bc tbh i feel like it's pretty rare to have that in the end? we bare bears had lots of korean speaking characters in it iirc but that's one of the only shows that comes to mind.

ranking my favorite marinette pairings

okay, so, i am a HUGE multishipper. like, i greatly enjoy shipping characters with different people. since marinette has chemistry with pretty much most of the cast in some way, shape, or form, i figured i'd rank my personal favorite ships with her that i'm fond of.

5. feinette

coming at #5 we have fei and marinette! i think this is a very unique rarepair and their relationship and dynamic in the shanghai special is adorable! the only reason they're so low is because i just prefer the others with marinette. i think we really need more of them together, as they were the highlight of the entire special for me. overall, very cute, just not my favorite!

4. marigami

if you asked me to make this ranking a year or two ago, i probably would've put these two lovely gal pals higher up. but my opinion of them has changed drastically since last time so.

i think their relationship is so amazing. the "sunshine x grumpy" dynamic is always something i enjoy (hence why i love tohrin for the same reason). aside from surface level stuff, marinette really shows just how much she cares for kagami. she's her first friend, so naturally, marinette wouldn't want kagami to be left lonely with no one. and knowing marinette, she'd do everything in her power to make kagami feel comfortable and happy when they're together (see mr. pigeon 72).

at first, kagami needed time to warm up to marinette, but she really made a strong impact on her life (gee, i wonder who that reminds me of). i especially like how marinette wanted to get adrigami back together, when that probably wouldn't have even crossed s3 marinette's mind. her willingness to be there for kagami is why i love these girls so much. and kagami actually appreciating marinette's friendship is so wholesome. don't ask me about s5 i like to pretend that season doesn't exist, especially with regard to kagami and how her character was handled.

3. zoenette

first off, i just want to say, I LOVE THEM SO MUCH?? zoe's crush on marinette is so so cute and i REALLY like how they handled it in adoration. zoe's confession was so heartwarming and marinette's reaction and reassurance was wonderful.

zoe, who had practically NO ONE when she moved to paris, is automatically befriended by marinette, who didn't even know who she was and was so welcoming to her. marinette cares so much about zoe and worries for her because she doesn't want her to be a doormat to chloe and wants her to stand up for herself.

eventually, once zoe does, marinette is so proud of her and it really reminds me of the time when tohru congratulated yuki for standing up to akito, but i digress. she can see just how far zoe has come since she first arrived and her growth is everything. their relationship is built on support and trust and that's what makes their dynamic so compelling and sweet.

2. alyanette

MY BABIES. i am a sucker for the “best friends to lovers” trope and this is basically that, just without the ‘lovers’ part. they support each other so much. their level of trust is put to the test in s4 when maribug tells alya her identity. alya, in return, helps marinette out even more than she already has. marinette needed to tell someone of the burden and heavy weight that's been put on her shoulders, and i think alya is the perfect candidate.

contrary to popular belief, alya is an AMAZING friend. she's the one who gets marinette out of sticky situations and doesn't get upset easily if she slips up (see the mime). despite not knowing what marinette is up to at times, alya still puts her full trust in her because she knows that, at the end of the day, marinette will make the right decisions.

i could ramble on and on about these two, but you get my point. also, i can't be the only one who could just FEEL the tension in the air rising during their oh so very intimate scene towards the end of the reverse special. no, just me?

1. adrienette

to no one's surprise, adrienette comes crashing down in first place. i love these two SO MUCH. they care about and love one another in different ways. marinette shows her love through gift-giving and grand gestures. adrien shows his love through words of affirmation and by spending time with someone. they would go above and beyond for the other. adrien confronted AND blackmailed lila about marinette's expulsion and her treatment of her in order for marinette to come back to school. (honestly kinda reminds me of haru when he went and confronted akito about what she did to rin). marinette went to adrien's house numerous times to save him from a possible dangerous situation, i.e. oni-chan, gabriel agreste.

in oni-chan, lila sneakily made her way inside the agreste mansion and lied to nathalie about adrien needing to get some extra homework done to bring his grade up. obviously, she has an ulterior motive: to get close to adrien. marinette, hoping to prevent this, follows them. unfortunately, with no luck, she wasn't able to get inside. this does, however, showcase the lengths she's willing to go to for his safety.

another instance of this is in gabriel agreste, after chloe maliciously recorded a video of marinette and her friends talking about gabriel being a bad parent. knowing what this would do to adrien, chloe was planning on showing the video to his father to get him out of school, DESPITE the fact that chloe would never see him again (it's very telling that chloe does not care about adrien or what he wants in the slightest, and would rather fulfill her satisfaction of revenge for shits and giggles).

in contrast, marinette, despite sneaking into the mansion uninvited, comes up a plan with her friends to ensure chloe does not show the video. note that her goal was not to hurt adrien but to save him from chloe's clutches. this was not out of jealousy in the slightest. the video ends up not getting shown, much to chloe's determination, and adrien is safe, which was marinette's goal from the start.

i could list so many different instances where marinette and adrien show their tenderness for each other but we'd be here for hours. their relationship means everything to me. and as much as i love the other dynamics, adrienette work the best in canon, (again, not going to mention s5) and, unsurprisingly, complement each other really well.

i became too invested in this. some of these ships i haven't thought in years, so it was nice to relive the times i was obsessed with them. i narrowed it to one ship per media/fandom and just like my tag-buddy, I'll provide my questionable reasons/propaganda.

REASONS/PROPAGANDA

Sydney Sage/Trey Juarez:

so when i was first reading bloodlines, i read online that sydney gets a human boyfriend in book 2. i had heard about brayden but never in the context of HIM being the boyfriend, so i thought he was the random dude in book 1 (wasn't he, unironically, called hayden??) who asked sydney out. i was theorizing who that boyfriend would be until my brain went: "omg.... IS IT TREY??" and got soo hyped. i loved their interaction in book 1 and thought exploring them in a romantic setting would be so interesting, especially with the implication of trey having a major role. they are so similar (growing up in a cult, daddy issues, both being smart) and yet, trey has some adrian-like traits?? charming, popular in the dating pool, laidback... and it would create some tension between sydrian??? imagine adrian watching trey and sydney date and feeling discouraged because she found a human "version" of him?? and with trey being a warrior, he would try to get sydney to have the alchemist side with them and push the "moroi are evil" narrative, creating more doubts for sydney to rebel! BUT THEN SYDNEY HELPS TREY REBEL AGAINST THE WARRIORS!!

i love their friendship as is, and know for a fact they wouldn't last that long but man... i would have eat up their failed romance.

Rachel Berry/Sam Evans:

ah yes. my first ever rarepair. since that one episode in season 2 where she and finn helped sam with his young siblings, i fell in love with them. if you were in the glee fandom, you know every single couple was problematic one way or the other (this is the writers' fault). yet somehow, every relationship sam was in, it was the healthiest the woman he was with ever had. and i wanted that for rachel! i ate all the crumbs this show gave me, which were... almost nonexistent. the big difference between this rarepair and the others on this poll is that, in the show's final season, THEY BECAME CANON. I WAS SO HAPPY. they were very unpopular because it came out of nowhere and the writers only put them together to give rachel a love interest for the final season (and give the storyline they planned for finn to someone else), which... fair. but he was so caring, encouraging her to follow her dreams and telling her the tough truth about things she didn't want to hear. it was so good to see rachel heal from finn and her failed broadway dreams while with sam. (also she was less insufferable with him).

but then, ha... they broke up on the third to last episode of the series. so she could be with jesse who showed up out of nowhere on that same episode, after he "left" 4-3 seasons ago. don't get me wrong - i love st. berry! jonathan groff and lea michelle have chemistry! love ambitious broadway wannabes being a power couple! but why not, i don't know, put the storyline she had with sam with jesse instead so it could be more organic and avoid crushing my dreams???

Clarisse La Rue/Silena Beauregard (PJO):

this isn't a rarepair compared to the previous two, but within the pjo fandom, it isn't as popular (surprisingly?? at least in ao3. i'm so out of the loop). first time reading pjo, little old only thought of clarisse and silena as best friends. but as i got older and read more fan analysis of the series, i realized the tragedy of these two. either 1) clarisse had an unrequited crush 2) they dated and didn't work out 3) it was a failed situationship. the daughter of ares, the girl people in camp-half blood are so scared of because she is mean to everyone and can (and will) beat the shit out of them, had a wholesome friendship with the daughter of aphrodite, and one of the nicest people in the camp?? and this friendship appeared because silena helped clarisse with her "boy problems"??? and then clarisse basically protected and comforted silena after what happened with charlie?? no spoilers for those who haven't read the books, but they parallel a famous greek mythology couple and their ending hurts. still love silena/charlie, but god... poor clarisse...

can't wait to keep rereading the books and suffer once i get to their part!

Gary "Eggsy" Unwin/Roxy Morton (Kingsman)

everyone prefers hartwin and merlin/eggsy, but i can't help but love mortwin. i watched the first movie and loved their small moments. loved how they bonded over being the underdogs in the competition and, instead of becoming sworn enemies, they recognized each other as worthy opponents. their small fun, friendly-rivarly banter was cute. part of me was relieved they stayed as friends in the end... but i couldn't help but be soo disappointed. the chemistry? it was there!! even taron egerton said there was potential to explore a romance if given the chance! plus, i'm a sucker for well-developed friends-to-lovers.

never watched the sequel but after reading what the writers did to roxy, i'm glad i didn't and never will. i can now create my own sequel in my head and read fanfics of the story they deserve 😌

Bella Swan/Leah Clearwater (Twilight):

i want to thank this one brazilian fanfic i found years ago (and never wrote down the name and lost it 😔) for presenting me with this ship. everyone talks about bella/alice, bella/rosalie, bella/carlisle... but what about bella/leah??? think new moon, when bella has just been abandoned by edward, meeting the werewolves through jacob and therefore leah, who is still dealing with the whole paul/emily thing. they can still start out with leah hating bella but they can bond over being abandoned by their boyfriends and heal from it, and in the end realize they don't need them anymore - they can have each other!

i also love if edward still comes back and bella is conflicted, and it's a edward/bella/leah love triangle (apparently people ship edward/leah and how i never heard of it?! imagine the drama!!) i will take anything where jacob isn't involved

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Currently Les Mis and Jesus Christ Superstar. I used to write for Cats a few years ago, and I wrote Sherlock and Harry Potter once upon a time. I also wrote Stranger Things once, but that was a gift for @p-trichor and I don't think I will again (writing about characters from a show you've never watched is stressful!)

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Rumour Has It (Les Mis, ExR Prof AU). Good Enough To Eat (Stranger Things, vampire Steddie). Merlin (TV) according to Ao3 (Merlin, not technically a fic). Ne m'aime pas (Les Mis, aro!Enjolras). Sleepy Love (Harry Potter, Wolfstar). my beloathed, so happy it's almost out of the top 5

5. Do you respond to comments?

I try to!! I love getting comments, so I do like getting back to people. Though sometimes someone leaves a comment so elaborate and so kind I freeze at how to make a good enough response and I never do. So... @buffintruder I promise I cherish every single one of your comments please don't be hurt if I don't answer!!!

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Uuuuuh.... I guess depends on your definition. If we're going for implications, it would be "A Kiss With a Betrayal (Is Better Than None)". Nothing that bad happens, but it's the setup of Judas' betrayal of Jesus, and shit gets daaark after that. If you go with actual sad ending, "I Wanna Ruin Our Friendship" would have to take it. Enjolras cries so much in that one.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

"Curiosity Trapped the Cat", probably. It's just so cute!

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Not anymore, thankfully! When I was a fandom youngster I got a very angry comment on a Jily (Harry Potter) fic from someone who was enraged Lily didn't end up with Snape, and someone who ripped me a new one for using a word that turned out to be perfectly neutral in my native language and a slur in English.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I do! Not often, but I have a PWP on Ao3, actually. For some reason I only do it as a collaborative effort, though: the Courfjolras PWP on Ao3 is a joint fic with @pumpkinspice-prouvaire and I have two Courfjoltaire WIPs with @shamedumpster (called "In the Middle (While you two get along)" and "Skip the awkward (come undone)" ^^).

10. Do you write crossovers?

Same as pumpkin here. I don't do crossovers, but I do love myself a good AU!

Not that I know of!

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Does it count if I was the one doing it? My first fic, the Jily one I was saying, I wrote in my native language and then translated to English. The two versions are on ff.net!

Yep! Apart from the aforementioned Courfjolras PWP, I wrote a cute fluffy ExR with @pumpkinspice-prouvaire for the Ace!Enjolras series. Also depending on how you see it the Jesus Christ Superstar is a joint effort with @shamedumpster, even if we are writing separately each bit.

14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

A rockstar AU where Courf is an aromantic Bowie stand-in and Marius is his main guitarist and fuckbuddy who gets too invested. I love it, but it's a longfic and I'm not good at sticking to those. (And also it's a Sad Ending rarepair fic. Who is going to read it?)

I think I'm good at keeping people in their POVs and not slipping into omniscient narrators. Descriptions, too.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I get stuck on logistics. Sometimes you just have to handwave shit, you know? People don't need to know when they put the cup down or the position of every guard.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

As someone who is always reading in a language that isn't mine, if I can read an entire fic in English, you can read two sentences in another language and their translation if it works for the character. My caveat to that is in Les Mis fics: do not suddenly have characters say five words in French if they're already all French. It just breaks the illusion that they were speaking French the whole time.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

And posted? Harry Potter. In general? Percival Christopher Wren's "Beau Geste". I hated the ending so much I wrote an entire Fix-It ending.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

"Still Crazy After All These Years", a Courferre second chance romance fic I wrote last year. It's a little more involved than I usually do, with a non-linear narrative and a non-linear writing process, and I think it turned out really well. I feel like the nuance of the situation was pretty well done, too.

What are you thoughts on Soumaeda ? Personally , it’s one of my favorite rarepairs . I like the thought of Komaeda constantly being blunt with anything and everything . Just saying shit to say it and half the time Kazuichi is like okay babe lets get you back to the mental hospital and the other half bro is just a flustered mess . Love them .

Yknow I coulda sworn I’ve written about my thoughts on these two before but I think I’m confusing it for all the times I just….thought about them extensively in my head lololol as you can guess I love them so very very much.

Soumaeda is one of those ships where you’re like: “yeah this is going to become unbalanced real fast” and you wouldn’t really be wrong honestly (but I feel that applies to most Nagito ships tbh. My boi really be out here manipulating everyone aye). But I do think the honesty aspect is their strong point—though Kaz would be the one to be the most blunt when they’re talking to each other if their interaction in Dangan S is anything to go by haha. Which is actually very refreshing because it’s evident that Kazuichi feels comfortable enough to just straight up tell Nagito his unfiltered thoughts about him:

I feel like if Kazuichi truly was scared or intimidated of Nagito, there aint no damn way he would have just been that honest to a guy he’s alone with. And while that interaction seems counterintuitive to Soumaeda, I actually really like it because 1. Kazuichi corrects himself from saying it’s not Nagito he dislikes, it’s his ideology he can’t get behind which shows he’s thought about it enough to make that clear distinction. 2. Despite how miscommunicated they are Kaz still tries to make it clear to Nagito at the end that he DOESN���T want Nagito to not talk to him. Rather he wants Nagito to talk to him more but just as a regular person rather than an Ultimate. And 3. Kazuichi has evidently thought about Nagito quite a bit considering he’s had enough time to also see how similar they are and perhaps is part of the reason why he wants to understand Nagito and be actual friends.

If anything, it really just shows how much Kazuichi has grown in his opinion on Nagito and how much he really wants to give Nagito another chance. Now, all that’s left is for Nagito to be slightly less self-depreciating enough to realize how much Kazuichi wants to be on good terms with him.

And hey look, I talk a lot of smack about the anime but if there was anything truly wonderful that came out of it, it was Nagito’s OVA and how it basically showed how much he really really wanted to be besties with Kazuichi. Or even in the regular anime itself, Kaz states he always gets hurt by Nagito’s luck when he’s around (and just him specifically) and given that Nagito’s luck tends to target those he’s close too/really cares about, one could then imply that Kaz is someone Nagito thinks fondly of to often be on the receiving end of his luck cycles. Dr3 didn’t give us much but it did give us inklings of Soumaeda and for that I am grateful.

And you know me, I’m always hung up on those friendships that develop towards romance type of ships. Its the slow burn, the build up to the pining, to the confession—and god have I’ve imagined Soumaeda going through all that a lot hahaha!

Honestly @austajunk has some great thoughts on their dynamics that I didn’t even think about until we started talking about them at length. I wish I could find some direct links to their old Soumaeda text posts but alas tumblr does not make finding them easy. But I know they’re there! If anything you can probs send Austa an ask too I’m sure they won’t mind talkin’ bout Soumaeda haha.

Not sure if these are tropes, but yandere lover (just not a very big fan of yandere), obsessive love (treating their partner as a possession), misogynistic attitudes or abusive power in a relationship (basically a partner defining what their partner, whether it be a woman or man, should do or behave, and the victimized partner finds it hot???)

3. Gradual mutual understanding for one another! I also learn more about the characters' personalities this way!

I'm not a big fan of where Ferdinand is written or drawn very femininely. This applies to any MxM pair. I'm not against the concept of femininity in males, but when used in a stereotypical fashion, it rubs me the wrong way. Just a subtle depiction of their relationship dynamic is perfect to me! I'm alright with seeing SFW artwork of the reverse and reading said fics, but NSFW is where I draw the line

I love chatting with readers and try to respond to comments as they come in (occasionally I fall behind depending on my work sched, but I always respond!).

6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

My Twin Peaks fic Twin Flames Divided is very similar to its canon source, so has to be angsty and a little out there! Definitely angstier than my usual fics!

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

So far I think Dear Donna, (my hellcheer slow burn told through letters) has the happiest, tooth-rotting fluff around. But all of my Chrissy fics have happy endings :)

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I would say no, not really! Thankfully, everyone's been super supportive in the comments and on tumblr:)

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Only once!! It's anon and was posted for Kinktober as like a little writer challenge for myself to see if I COULD do it. It was fun, but I'll leave the smut to the professionals lol.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

I wrote on that's currently on hiatus, but had SO much fun with it! IT's a TP x ST crossover where Agent Cooper is brought into the midst of season 4's crazy supernatural murders. I'd love to get back into it, but I have other brainworms I want to work on now.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Don't think so!

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Also, no, but I'd be so into that!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Not yet! But I'd love to be a co-conspirator with my main squeeze @1lostsoul0fishbowl someday when our schedules and inspo lines up to try it!

14. What's your all-time favorite ship?

Hellcheer has been my big one, but I'm starting to fall in love with some ST rarepairs lately...so we'll see if it stays that way.

15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

Hmm any unfinished WIPs of mine will be finished in their own time. I have a hard time admitting one might be unfinished, because my core perfectionism won't allow anything to be left undone!

16. What are your writing strengths?

I think my dialogue is a decent guiding factor in my writing! It's at least my favorite portion to write!

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

In general, allowing more creativity to flow while I'm writing. I went to college with an emphasis on more direct, scientific writing....But now I'm trying to unlearn all the drills of no flowery language or complex sentences to write with better immersion and storytelling.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I'm not confident enough to do that, unless I'm very knowledgeable in that language. But it's rare for me to inject that into the fics I write.

20. Favorite fic you've written?

That's like picking a favorite child! But back against the wall, today my favorite is there is a light that never goes out , my wip for jonathan x chrissy. It's moody, it's 80s cheesy, and it's cute :)

My first impression of them

I can only vaguely remember watching the show as a kid, so my first impressions have to do with getting into the fandom in recent years (and even then I struggle to remember how things started). But I've realized just now that discovering the Kevrolf ship was probably what started my growing interest in the character hehe

4. How many people I ship them with

Only one person really 😅 I think Nazz or Ed are cute rarepairs with him, although I'd prefer to explore them more as friendship dynamics. With Nazz in particular, it seems to me Rolf doesn't think highly of her, so it's interesting to imagine them interacting more and developing a friendship.

5. My favorite ship of them

The farmer and the jock 😁 Them being best friends (or potentially becoming besties) is already very interesting to me, and I think part of the appeal of the ship is that it sounds so silly straight away - it's an odd couple with some comedy potential, it kinda makes me draw parallels with EddEddy in some ways 👀

6. My least favorite ship of them

Apart from the aforementioned ships, the only other one I've ever heard of was Rolf x Lee. Not necessarily my least favorite, I can see it working actually, I've just never really thought about it.

12. Sexuality hc!

I guess I see him as bi. When it comes to girls I think canon suggests he'd only be interested in strong, working women 💪, but mostly I love the idea that Rolf's culture would be surprisingly accepting to the point there's no distinction of sexuality. It's a cool twist when you'd normally expect his vague European traditional background to consider homosexuality a taboo.

17. What do you think their first word was?

Probably 'goat', or' cow', or 'pig'! In his native language, of course... little Rolf waddling around the family farm ❤️

25. When do you think they acted the most ooc

Right now I can't think of any particularly ooc moment... Maybe Rolf was fairly immune from that. Although I'm interested to hear contrasting opinions.

Ok, ok, so... as usual, I'm going to be jumping around, because you guys know how my attention span can be xD

1. Life is a Rollercoaster; or Tao Xu's Fight Against the Big Butterfly of Doom (Heartstopper | 11.1k | Fluff, Humor, Time Travel)

Tao got the chance to go back in time and undo his worst mistake. Tao prevented Charlie from being outed or bullied. Tao changed things enough that, the second time around, Charlie didn't get assigned the seat next to Nick Nelson in form.

…Fuck.

Or: the Butterfly Effect sucks, and if Tao has to take desperate measures to ensure his friend's happiness, he will. He draws the line at Iron Man 2 though, someone has to keep some standards around here.

I binged the show and immediately got the urge to write something for it, but I didn't expect it to blow up as it did! I had fun with this one, and the readers were super nice and encouraging, plus sharing this one is what led me to eventually meet @mikaharuka as we rambled over our fics, so for that alone it's always going to have a special significance for me 😁

2. Neither Grief Nor Glory (TSOA/Hades | 7.6k | Angst, Smut)

Dying had been a relief, but death is turning into its own kind of torment.

Dying was just the beginning. Achilles' journey back to Patroclus is a long and twisted one. Along the way he'll have to confront his unaddressed grief, face his many regrets and learn to truly become a man worthy of Patroclus' unconditional love.

But like all journeys, eventually he'll reach his safe harbor.

My first yuletide! This one took months and a couple of minor breakdowns, but the end result is something I am very proud of, both in terms of the prose and the worldbuilding. And my giftee left the loveliest comment ☺️

3. All That Matters (Asterix the Gaul | 2.6k | Character Study, Queerplatonic Relationships)

Asterix has always felt different, but he has Obelix, and that is usually enough. Everybody else has questions, however, and he grows tired of answering.

"He wants to shout, even if he still doesn't know what he wants to say, even if he knows that if he lets his frustration take hold of his tongue, he will regret the harm he will cause."

This was... very, very cathartic to write. I remember rewriting sections of this so often, and I am humbled by the response it had. It was a very validating experience.

4. Life is a Flower, Love is the Honey (Deep Space Nine | 9.5k | Romance and Fluff)

“I don’t think Julian would like that,” Leeta said, without pausing to think about it, but… “We could ask him,” Rom had replied. And wasn’t that an interesting idea?

(A self-indulgent, mostly Rom-centric, Julian/Leeta/Rom fic because I was re-watching ‘Bar Association’ and this happened. I have no regrets.)

The one that brought me back into writing, after several years of hiatus... and the one that gave me confidence to push on, even if I nearly backed out due to it featuring a strange rarepair. This story is always going to be special for me <3

4. When You Speak, I Hear Silence (Deep Space Nine | 1.8k | Friendship)

Terok Nor is no more, and strange new aliens are coming to the newly named Deep Space Nine. Nog doesn't expect life to change; but then he finds a friend, who gives him the greatest gift he will ever receive.

If there's a fic where I wouldn't change a single word or a moment of the writing process, it has to be this one. I'm so glad I didn't go with my initial idea, because this version with Jake&Nog just made things click for me ^_^

3. Writing, and people reading it.

So much like my parrots. Drives me crazy, gives me headaches, drives me to distraction. But... also makes me very, very happy. Specifically: drawing closer and closer to being able to publish my one big fic? That makes me SO happy. I've been working on it for over a year now. I just... can't help but worry whether people will read it or not, since it is so intense and so much. I prefer much, much longer fics, and always get sad to fall into rarepairs—because I am a shipper—that just don't have long fics. Much to my surprise, it seems that people are intimidated by long fics? :O

4. Applying my special interests to fandom

WW2, Deep Sea, Space, etc? All life-long special interests that I've fond ways to incorporate and draw upon in my fandom engagements in Star Wars, and that makes me very, very happy.

5. Captain Rex.

Ship That I Loved At First Sight

I don't know how to explain, I just love them so much, maybe it's their similar age and matching zodiacs, but they are my babies. Fight me if you don't like them!

Ship That I Initially Didn't Like

HyoShun, it's not like I was "ew, what a disgusting ship", but I found it to be quite overrated. It's still not my Top 3 ship, but I grew very fond of it

Ship That I Never Liked

The original was ship that I no longer like, but I don't have it in StS, I'm still faithful to all my ships. But I do have ships that I hate, the Top 1 being Shura x Camus for two reasons: one, they don't have chemistry or any interesting interaction to spark a wish to ship them in me. Two, if I had to choose someone to have some close relationship with Shura, it would be either Deathmask, Aphrodite, Aiolia, or even Saga or Aiolos, but Camus, really?

Favorite Popular Ship

Maybe Mu x Aldebaran is not that popular as Mu x Shaka (what is a shame, Mu and Aldebaran have a lot more chemistry for me), but I still think that this ship is quite popular, so I'm putting this one here.

Favorite Rarepair

Okay, it may be weird that I don't like Shura x Camus, but like Deathmask x Camus, but the reason is because Shura x Camus is forced as hell, mainly in SoG, where they are constantly trying to make us believe that they had some sort of friendship and that's why they were fighting, but guess what, they never had it in first place, so this conflict (and ship) falls flat. But with Deathmask x Camus, even tho they never interacted too, we got a moment of Camus mentioning Deathmask when the "Dark Trio" was heading to Cancer Temple, and this was... interesting. Plus, they would have much more chemistry with each other, Deathmask trying to make Camus be more lively and energetic, while Camus would teach Deathmask to be more calm and collected.

Controversial Ship

Tbh, I don't have it. The closest that I can think about is Hypnos x Thanatos, just to clarify, I don't ship them, but if I had to believe that some incestuous ship would happen, it would be between them because we know how Greek Gods are like with their relatives. But I won't say that I don't have the idea of Hypnos being the sub top, while Thanatos is a dom bottom 😶.

Ship That I Want To Become Canon The Most

Well, even tho I love Trash Trio, I can't deny that I see them more like just best friends (who may fuck sometimes, but still best friends), but Aiolia x Shura is actually really cute. The drama, dynamics, relationship that this couple would have is so juicy. SoG may have give us terrible, horrible ships (Shura x Camus, again; Aiolia x Lyfia; Deathmask x Helena; Dohko x Aldebaran), but Shura x Aiolia isn't one of those, I would dare to say that it's the best ship that SoG gave to us along with Deathmask x Aphrodite.

Again, Trash Trio, nothing new here.

Ship That Deserves More Attention

Ikki x Pandora actually is one of the few best straight couples from Saint Seiya. Ignoring the fact that Ikki smacked Pandora on the face, but this was because she was getting on his way to save Shun, so it's slightly understandable, what made me ship them is their final interaction: Pandora finally vents her problems to someone and trust on Ikki to avenge her real family, that Hades, Hypnos and Thanatos destroyed, in turn, we see that Ikki actually empathized with her, this short scene managed to be better developing some sort of romance (what wasn't even the focus) than a lot of love stories from media nowadays. Sadly it's overshadowed with some other ships like Ikki x Esmeralda, dude got infatuated with a girl who was identical to his younger brother, what is... ew, and Pandora x Radamanthys, poor Pandora, she deserves better than Radamanthys, I hate this bitch.

First OTP

That's easy, it was Seiya x Shun. Those two spend a lot more time together than with the other Bronzies, so it's easy for me to ship. I personaly like it more than Seiya x Shiryu or Shun x Hyoga, not saying that those two ships are bad, I like them and if you like them it's fine.

Current OTP

It has to be Saga x Aiolos, while Shion and Dohko where the kid Goldies granddads, Saga and Aiolos where their mother and father, respectively (Kanon was the uncle). I'm actually glad how popular this ship is, and pretty sure that Kurumada ships them too, otherwise all their gay interactions in Episode Zero wouldn't been happened in first place.
