Friendship Test teaser

“Friendship Test is an RPG Maker game where you play as FriendProgram, a little robot (or Program) created to be anyone’s perfect friend, which is a good thing since the mysterious laboratory they find themself in is a lab that tests out your friendship! However, things aren’t going as great as you’d imagine. Despite the nice objective of the tests, it seems like whoever is in charge doesn’t understand friendship very well and is making a lot of the Programs miserable. Does any of us really understand friendship...? But FriendProgram has no time for those questions, they already have an objective on mind. Too bad no one really knows what’s on their mind, since FriendProgram is as nice as they are mysterious… Perhaps some of the Programs (and Experiments!) they’ll meet along the way we’ll get to know them better. Or perhaps they won’t. I guess they all have things to learn about friendship.”

Friendship Test is being created quite literally for me to test out RPG Maker, but because of that I ended up creating a story I really like so I’m making a whole game. It is extremely clear that this is someone’s first game they’ve ever made and that’s because it is! And as incredibly flaw that it is becoming, I’m having a lot of fun making it. All the badly drawn sprites, the awkward pacing, the extremely simple gameplay… it’s bad but made with care!

FT is still very early on development, it won’t be extremely long but this is not a short 1 hour game either. While it will take some time to show the final product, I’m excited to show what I’ve worked on so far! First 25 minutes of the game.

I might release a demo of the prologue and first chapter, but I’d like to have a bunch of progress of the rest of the game before doing so. And of course the final full game we’ll be free! I’m not asking for money for this thing.

I said i would do it before, but since tonights opening night, heres a list of funny things my cast and crew do for the show Puffs that i find really endearing and awesome :))

!!spoilers ahead!!

Act 1

Most if the time, when the Narrator (me) is not onstage, i sit in a little nook on either side of the stage, where i read books, play with a badger plush or my pet pygmy puff (also a plush), write things down, etc. I like to hc that the nook is in the Room of Requirement :) also dw i do get moments where i go backstage and take a break

Wayne wears a jersey with a W on it at the start of the play, it becomes important later

Leanne wears a colorful tutu!

Oliver has a pair of gold glasses

Oliver is from Baltimore, much to his discontent

Snape is played by the same guy who does Ernie Mac, J finch is played by the same guy who does Uncle Dave, and Hannah is played by the same person who does Voldy. Its real funny watching them switch characters

The sorting hat is big fortune teller. I think that was used for a version of the show somewhere else but its so goddamn funny

The training wand Professor McG gives to Oliver is one of those colorful toy wands with glitter and fluid inside that makes it all sparkly

For Professor Turban, he has those red finger lights as Voldy on the back of his turban. One rehearsal they fell on the floor and broke it was really funny

The sorcerers stone that Megan throws to the narrator is just a rock the director found outside. Its really heavy, our stage manager is supposed to paint it red (idk we found the rock yesterday. The rock we usually use fell on the stage and shattered so yeah cant use that anymore rip)

Wayne does a silly robot dance when he mentions Robocop right before meeting Ginny

Ginny is played by our student assistant director, who is a redhead. It couldnt be any other way man she had to be Ginny

Wayne is really tall. Oliver and Megan are around the same size but Wayne towers over them threateningly

When Harry and Ron Mop have a fight and Oliver tries to calm Ron Mop down, at the end Oliver yells at him "How come you get to kiss Emma Watson?!"

Real Mr. Moody has a flask for his potion, like in the series

Cedric wears heart pattern boxers during the bathroom scene. He used to be shirtless but we decided to give him a tanktop cuz it was very weird

The bathroom has a sweet lil ballet segment and we get huge bubble wands!

During the lake watching scene, J Finch falls asleep and starts snoring

Also during that same scene, Leanne panics about the lake and hides her head, then peeks her head out and says "is it gone?"

Viktor is capable of breakdancing!! They do an epic breakdance after the second task!

Each character in the three wizard tournament has a theme song - Frenchy has a french accordian song, Viktor has epic breakdancing music, Cedric has an epic rock and roll guitar riff, and Harry has a silly ukelele song that sounds like a Kevin Macleod song

Cedric and Waynes interaction right before the third task is so wholesome yet heartbreaking

Right before the intermission, i cast a spell to close the curtain

Act 2

Wayne finding out Cedric is dead is the most heartbreaking thing ive ever witnessed. The actor playing him is real silly dude but he got the emotions spot on and i applaud him for it

Ernie and Hannahs sign for "no being too sad" is not all that heavy, but the two actors play it like its the heaviest thing in the planet

J Finch's fav jellybean flavor changes every night. Some of my personal favs of things he has said: "Thermal paste", "plastic", "jellybean flavor", "oh man i forgot what it was, it was really good tho"

When Ernie Mac is fake bullying Hannah so she knows the difference, Ernie says "your face looks like he-whose-name-we-cannot-legally-say" which is funny for 2 reasons: 1, Hannah and Voldy share an actor, and 2, we cant say Voldemort cuz copyright

When J Finch starts "going to the petrified place" after Wayne yells at him, Ernie Mac punches J Finch and yells at him that he cant be too sad

Every single time during the Oliver and Megan kiss scene, Oliver gets Megan's dark lipstick on his face. It is hilarious

When I throw the year 5 book (which is really heavy) to the stage manager, she has decided she would make a new reaction every night. Examples: "hey! Big books hurt!" "You throw like a Puff, AND I MEAN THAT NEGATIVELY!" "The actors are attacking!! Run, stage crew! Run! *slams the door behind them*"

Voldy has a green swim cap and tape on his nose.

When Voldy is giving one of his death buddies a show of affection, midway through he says "i hope you're loving this as much as i am", to which the poor death buddy responds "i hate it 😥"

Oliver and Megan are holding hands while Wayne is asking about grades. Wayne gets sick of it and forces himself between them, breaking their holding hands

Zac Smith is hilarious. Hes played by the same guy who did Cedric before he died in act 1. Zac Smith has so many stupid stories, like one about how he ate a magic muffin, turned into a muffin, and watched his friend who also got turned into a muffin get eaten. Another one is how he watched a magic VHS of the movie Shrek, and the donkey appeared in his home, and he was so annoying that Zac cooked him, and every day he waits for the dragon to come kill him. Most recent one was when he watched a magic VHS of a Midsummer Nights Dream, and had his head turned into a donkey, and was jealous that the donkey man is getting more bitches than him, so Zac decides he'll make his own movie - Zac Smith: the Hot Donkey. I always break character during that scene istg

The actor for Xavia is fantastic. She got that evil dumb mom vibe we needed

Right when Wayne sees Sally Perks leaning in for the kiss, Wayne quickly puts on chapstick and pops his lips. Why, i have no idea but its funny

Megan being torn about whether she should kill her friends or miss this opportunity to be with her mom is absolutely heartbreaking it is so sad :(

During the flashback to when Xavia got recruited, Voldy does the worm and Xavia aggressively flips her hair all over the place.

Voldy canonically does a Jack Sparrow run

Apparently Wayne dances during the flashback scene?? I had never noticed that i need to see that tonight lmao

Xavia struggling to open the doors is so fun. When she gives up she runs into the house, still yelling that she'll be back. Its so golden

The Headmaster falls into the pit for his death. The actor just lays in the pit for the rest of the show until the final important headmaster moment

I have never cried inside harder to a story of how Oliver turned his parents heads into oranges. The scene is so good and emotional :((

Bippy is peak comedy. Bippy is love. Bippy is life. Bippy sprints to the back of the auditorium and its the funniest shit ever

Voldy does amazing crowdwork ngl. He be asking what the difference between witches and wizards are, what the deal with British food is, and what is the purpose of boy bands (they make him want to run the other direction), it gets to the point where the Assistant Director has to take his megaphone away

All the deaths are so sad. I dont really see them all cuz im offstage during the war but when i do catch them its so sad

When Oliver returns hes wearing his scarf like a bandana. You go Karate Kid

Sally drops her glasses before her death. She funbles on the ground trying to find them

When J Finch dies, Ernie cradles him in his arms and its really sad

Bippys death goes on for like years. She just refuses to die until the songs done. Its very funny dear god

Waynes death hurts man

When Wayne arrives at the very white room two guys are holding up a white blanket and they have angel costumes on.

When the Headmaster says "see for yourself" Cedric appears and hands him a Puff scarf. I cant 😭😭😭

Voldy also falls into the pit for his death.

When i show up again as Megan and Olivers child, Wayna, i wear Waynes W jersey he had at the start of the play 😭

"Whether you're a Brave, a Smart, or a... child who vapes in the school bathrooms..."

When Oliver asks Wayna what 3 × 4 is, i act like i know how to solve it. "Oh i got this, 3 times 4, 3 groups of 4, 3 + 3 + 3 +3 is.... i dont know :)"

When i sit in the stool, Waynes arm hands me the Puff scarf. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

During Curtain Call, we all be doing a silly dance. Im dancing with Megan and Oliver, and Wayne runs on to crash the party like he does in play lmao

1. ITS SO DIFFICULT TO PIN DOWN JUST ONE THING but i think they equally love how the other compliments them perfectly…they’re like two peas in a loser pod. ITS KINDA FUNNY HOW FAST THEY SWITCHED THEIR OPINIONS OF EACH OTHER WHEN THEY STARTED TO FALL IN LOVE they had a rivalry going on prior to their dating as allie was part of the news journalism team trying to do an exposé on the whole Tomato scandal and chip was like Get off my back please. BUT along with a bunch of similarities in personality/motive (stay tuned for full lore Winks) they both found the other to be just what they needed to be whole…both just wanting to be loved and accepted, despite the confident and put-together fronts they put on (or attempt to at the very least) nobody ever made them feel as loved as the other had…they’re able to soothe the parts of them they hide deep down.

but more concretely, allie thinks chip’s spoiled, clueless approach to even the most simple tasks is (ironically) kind of charming, as she enjoys being able to show him the most basic of skills and have him think she’s some kind of god…it gives her an ego boost

chip on the other hand finds allie to be a genuinely remarkable person, and he really looks up to her…although he’d likely never admit it to her. moral code aside (for obvious reasons) he finds her work ethic and strong demeanor admirable…even after realizing the later is merely a façade. normally, chip would not look twice at someone’s hard work unless they were working directly beneath him, and even then he was not the kind of boss to give raises…but with allie it was different. he found her really respectable in all she does, even the acts not done for his sake (gasp!)

2. GREAT QUESTION

allie def gives off the vibes of someone who would not openly show affection with her partner, but with chip she’s the most touchy gal ever. chip happily returns these affections

CHIP DEF IS A PDA GUY in bcg hes sooo touchy in non-intimate settings like he’s constantly putting his arm around or touching the arm of those he interacts with so with allie he’s allll about that

they’re like so annoying when they’re with each other. chip would also not be shy about calling allie pet names which she returns in rare occasions only because she knows it turns chip beet red

BUT YES idk if they’d be the type to hold hands while walking for example. but they’re touchy in other ways…little gestures. brushing hands while talking, resting a hand on the other’s arm or shoulder, constantly in each other’s arms…i hope i’m getting the vibe across

3. and it just sticks with you somehow, you'll be thinking about these 20 contestants forever

when something good happens, you say 'yoylecake' and bad things will make you go 'oh noio', and whenever there's cake, it's cake at stake

every song you hear is about bfdi, from 'what makes you beautiful' turning into a fireafy anthem to 'starships' being secretly sung by puffball (bfdia 1 was sure silly!)

you start to dig into the other parts of the fandom, like 'battle for space palace' and 'bfdi trivia', and even find out there is another object show around (just one)

I just have no idea what the copyrighted song is. Probably something by ABBA. He'd find out that Kevin Macleod's music is uncopyrightable and just play it all the time. (For those who don't know Macleod, he is the creator of a massive amount of extremely commonly-used free music. Trust me when I say that if you've spent any time on the Internet you will definitely recognize some songs)

Megatron tries to craft a friendlier persona by using some of Macleod's more cheerful music. Imagine "Carefree" playing as Megatron holds the camera beneath his chin while drinking and spilling energon everywhere over the camera lenses. A truly awe-inspiring image.

Somebody would obviously make music about Megatron, for sure. He'd find it and would freak out over it. Kind of like how Burnham made a song about Jeffery Bezos. Warning: unfortunately rather vulgar :( but the song is unironically really good. the lyrics are wack but dang that beat is smack

Megatron would play his theme song on loop for over an hour, read the comments, angrily respond to comments, and demand that Starscream read them to him.

Yes. Starscream would write mean ones and gladly read them aloud and watch Megatron try to figure out who left them.

Episode Bonus: Little Saddleslut, the Greek Cinderella

While we only touched on a few in this episode, there are countless European variants on the Cinderella tale, most of them recorded after the Brothers Grimm, and not all of them have a protagonist whose nickname revolves around ashes or cinders. One recorded by Edmund Martin Geldart in his 1884 Folk-Lore of Modern Greece goes like this: Three sisters spinning flax decide to kill and eat their mother since she keeps dropping her spindle. The elder two butcher and cook her, but the youngest regrets the decision and refuses to partake, sitting on a saddle in the corner and weeping, which earns her the nickname “Little Saddleslut”. She buries the bones under the hearth only to find them transformed into a cache of gold coins and spectacular heavenly clothing.

On Sunday after her sisters go to church she washes up and dresses in the clothing and goes herself, but throws a handful of gold coins to distract everyone when she leaves. Her clothing is too bright for her sisters to recognize her. On her third try at doing this, she also loses a gold shoe, and the king’s son finds it and declares he will marry the woman it fits. Saddleslut profusely refuses to try on the shoe or marry the prince, but reluctantly does both.

When she gives birth to a baby, her sisters sneak her away in a chest and toss it in a river. An old woman finds her and frees her, and Saddleslut prays to God for shelter in the dark wilderness. God gives her a magic cottage where all the furniture talks to her and obeys her orders. Hunting in the woods, the prince comes across the cottage and awkwardly reunites with her. At her direction, the cottage uproots and takes them back to the city, where the prince chops her sisters into pieces.

Rebel Without a Cause-Ch. 1

ROCKSTAR!DEAN

When Dean recognizes a face in the crowd at one of his concerts, he feels ice water in his veins. Is it an illusion? His mind playing tricks on him? Or is it just a doppelganger of someone he used to know?                                            Wanting-no, NEEDING-to know he invites her backstage. Will she be who he thinks she is and will she cause him to rebel against everything the band has built?

Margaret sits at her desk,her head in her hands and her elbows propped on the wooden top. After the night she’d had, there wasn’t enough Tylenol in the world to alleviate the aches and pains she was enduring.

Ignoring her body’s demand for rest, Margaret had stayed up late unpacking the boxes that had finally arrived at her new apartment. Moving had taken a toll on the young woman; finding an affordable place to live in a new town, discovering her way around, and locating the best place to stop and get coffee on her way to her new job was daunting and exhausting. 

And now here she is, two weeks into her new job as the entertainment critic and she feels like shit.

“Staff meeting in 5. Conference room,” Kevin, her co-worker announces over the partition that separated the cubicles in the newsroom, causing Margaret to groan and reach into her desk to find the pain relievers in her purse.

Entering the conference room, Margaret winces at the bright lights and the buzz of all the other people, her colleagues, talking amongst themselves. She finds an empty chair and sits down. Looking around the room she takes in the staff of the Ft. Garrison News. Jack, the sportswriter; Jo, the business and finance columnist; Kevin, the news correspondent and Ruby from classifieds round out the team. Margaret hasn’t had much of a chance to get to know any of them, except for Kevin but only because their desks were divided by the thin barrier of a half-wall.

Mr. Singer, the owner and editor of the weekly periodical walks in and Margaret notices the room becomes quiet as all attention is turned to the big man. 

Singer slaps down a sheet of paper onto the table and sighs. “We’ve got to do better, guys. The Advocate got the scoop on us once again,” he says, pointing to the article. He puts his finger on the paper in front of him and slides it Margaret’s way.

Band Rocks the House and Ends Up in the Big House

Rockband ‘Winchester Sex Bombs’ filled the seats at Club 3-D over the weekend. The band, consisting of five childhood friends rocked the house with songs such as “Let the Music Take You Away” and “Girl, You Got My Number”.

But in the early morning hours Sunday, the authorities were called to a local hotel after employees filed complaints of noise and destruction. Upon arriving, cops were met with many drunken, barely conscious, scarcely clothed concert attendees.

After escorting the ones not on the resort guest list off the property, the Sun Valley PD arrested lead singer Dean Winchester for drunk and disorderly conduct, destruction of private property, and indecent exposure, along with public intoxication and distribution to minor(s). 

This is not the first incident for Winchester. The band’s frontman has a history of citations and arrests in almost every city the band visits. 

Margaret reads over the article and looks up at her boss, reluctantly. ‘Please don’t tell me to cover this. Please don’t tell me to write a story about this,’ she silently pleads. Her pleas go unanswered as Mr. Singer speaks up. “Margaret, as the new entertainment critic, it is your job to find out what makes this band tick. Go undercover. Get close to them. Find out why they feel the need to trash the place after their concerts.” She exhales slowly and looks back down at the article from the rival tabloid. 

As she reads the words over once more, a folded piece of paper comes into her line of sight. She grabs the note quickly and opens it. 

‘You lucky dog! I would die to be able to get up close and personal with Dean Winchester. That man is sex on bow legs!!’

She blushes a little and looks up to see Jo Harvey smiling at her. If only she knew…..

After the rest of the team get their assignments, each of them went back to their designated desks-except for Jo, who stops at Margaret’s cubicle and props a hip onto the edge of the workstation.

“I can help, ya know,” Jo says. “Make you look the part. Find you a way inside and then maybe in return you get me that hunk’s phone number. We can work together. You get what you are asked to do and you get me what I want.”

Margaret assesses her colleague. The petite woman sure has a unique style. Long, straight blonde hair that falls down her back, a blue buffalo plaid button-down shirt over a plain black tee, jeans so tight it looks like they were painted on and construction footwear. The style reminds Margaret of the female version of a lumberjack. Completely opposite of her.

Margaret dresses more ladylike. Pencil skirts and dress slacks, peasant shirts with cardigans and sensible shoes. Her dark auburn hair pulled back in a simple bun with a few tendrils that tend to come loose after a few hours. Jo wears heavy boots that stomp every time she steps!

As Margaret appraises Jo, she wonders how this person is going to be able to transform her into the girls she sees on videos of concerts. Will she be able to help change her to be the one to grab the attention of rock stars?

Before he even opens his eyes, the first thing Dean notices is the shooting pain. His head is pounding! The second is the rigid mattress beneath him. It feels as if the springs, what little there are, were assaulting his ribcage. The blanket covering him is stiff and scratchy and smelled like straight lye. 

Groaning through the pain, Dean slowly opens his eyes. ‘Great!’ he thinks to himself as he takes in his surroundings. ‘Another night in lock-up.’

As he sits up he glances around the cell he’s in, noticing the lump on the bed across from him. Dean couldn’t remember if his cellmate had been there before him or not. Hell, he can’t recall being arrested. Where is he even at?!

As he is trying to remember the night before, the man on the other side of the cell sighs and begins grumbling. He recognizes the cadence of the mumbling immediately, the Cajun dialect prominent. Benny.

“Gah! What the hell?!” the larger man moans as he turns over. The two men’s eyes meet and Benny sighs. “Heya Dean-o.”

“Benny, the fuck are we?”

Sitting up, Benny clears his throat. “Well Chief, it looks like we’re in jail,” he says as he glances at the metal bars on the door.

“No shit, Sherlock!” Dean replies sardonically. “I mean what city? What state?”

Groaning again, Benny slowly stands and approaches the toilet in the corner. Dean hears Benny’s zipper and the telltale sound of his friend relieving himself. “Well, if I recollect correctly, we are in t’ lovely town o’ Windsor, Idaho.”

“Windsor? Why are we in Windsor?” Dean asks as he sits up, swinging his feet to the floor. Running a hand through his hair, he inquires “Where’d we play last night?”

“Uh, I think it was the Wildwood Bar ‘n Grill,” Benny answers as he readjusts himself and turns back to Dean, zipping up.

Before the conversation can continue, a commotion outside the cell door catches their attention, the band’s lawyer, Gabriel Shurley, coming into view. 

Gabriel is part of Shurley & Sons, a law firm headed by Chuck Shurley and employs all three of Chuck’s sons, Gabriel, Michael, and Lucifer. The legal team was hired to handle all of the band’s litigations and contractual obligations. In the last couple of months, though, the attorney in front of them has definitely earned his pay. 

As the cop beside Gabe unlocks the door, the counselor announces, “You’re free boys.” And although he sounds chipper and pleased, Dean catches the underlying displeasure. Gabriel Shurley is anything but content.

After processing and having their personal belongings returned, Dean Winchester and Benny Lafitte follow the shorter man out of the Windsor City Jail.

“Boys, I don’t know how much more of this I can take,” Gabriel sighs as he climbs behind the steering wheel of his Escalade. “Every weekend, one of you need my help. Do you know how much paperwork it takes to clear your names and make sure they don’t press charges? How much money it takes to pay for the rooms you guys destroy? I swear if the Winchester Sex Bombs don’t reign it in soon, I’m going to tell my dad to drop the lot of ya!” Gabriel threatens as he drives to the appointed place to meet with the rest of the band. 

“Calm down, Gabe, before you give yourself a coronary,” Dean says, rubbing his temples. “You got any aspirin? My head is splitting. Benny, what the hell did I stick my dick in? It’s throbbing.”

Benny cackles in the backseat as Gabriel scoffs, but pulls out a bottle of pain relief from the console.

When the three of them arrive at the Cup O’ Joe diner, Dean can see inside where the rest of the band sits with their manager, Crowley MacLeod. Sam, Cas, and Meg all look the same way Dean felt, hungover and sickly. Crowley, however, looks livid. 

“Hello ho-nuggets,” Meg greets them as Dean, Benny and Gabriel join them. “How was jail? Was it Heaven…..or Hell?”

“Fuck you, Meg,” Dean utters as he grabs an empty mug and pours coffee from the urn on the table.

“Rude.” Meg croaks as she turns to watch Crowley and Gabriel outside, discussing the latest fiasco.

“What happened to you guys last night?” Sam asks, eyeing his brother. “You left to get more booze and never returned.”

“Man, I don’t even know.” Dean replies, looking over at Benny, silently asking him to fill in the blanks.

“Oh yea,” the Cajun responds. “We did leave, didn’t we? Let’s see-” he pauses to think. “-ah yes. We were headed to tha’ 24-hour convenience store when a couple of dudes stopped us. Asked us if we wanted ta party. Now, ya know, me an’ Dean ain’t gonna turn that down. So we followed them ta this alley, took a couple hits off a pipe and some pills. Dude!” Benny yells, slapping Dean on the shoulder. “You fucked a street post!”

“I did what now?” Dean asks concerned, as the other three joins in with a resounding, “What?!”

“Yea,” Benny says, laughing. “We headed back to the motel with th’ beer. Ya had already cracked one open. We passed this post and it had this hole in it. If I remember right, it looked like a woodpecker cut loose on it. Anyway, ya said you bet yer pecker would fit in there. Then you made a joke that ya had a woodpecker because your pecker was as hard as wood. So you pulled your wanker out right there on the street and went to town!”

“You’re lying,” Dean retorts, trying to recall. But if he was fucked up enough to fuck a post, he doubted he would remember. 

“Nope. And that’s when the cops showed up. Asked what you were doing. You pulled out, pointed to your dick and exclaimed, “I’m a woodpecker!””

The whole table began laughing while Dean sits there, still trying to relive the night. No wonder his fucking prick feels like it’s burning and tingling. It is probably full of splinters.

The Arcana Soundtrack!

So, I found this page which lists almost every song used by the Arcana. Becuase I don’t download game music until I encounter it in-game, I’ve managed to track down where the majority of these tracks play within the story! I’m not going to give every example, but here are some for each: 

Spoilers Abound!

“Dream Music and Rain Sounds” by The Water Sleep Audio Group: Main menu theme! The official version on iTunes has the hiss of rain in the background while the in-game version does not. The in-game version can be found on this page.

“Intrepid” by Kevin MacLeod: There’s two versions of it. The first version heard in-game is the harpsichord theme that plays in the Apprentice’s shop.  The official version (found on the incompitech site, iTunes, and YouTube) is this same harpsichord motif with strings, drums, and vocals, making it much more intense and dramatic. It plays during the final battle with the Devil in all three Upright Endings released so far. I haven’t been able to find the harpsichord-only shop theme anywhere but here. 

“Relent” by Kevin MacLeod: A somber theme that plays throughout the story, for example during serious discussions, in the library, or in the garden at night. 

“Heavy Heart” by Kevin MacLeod: Plays throughout the story, but most often in the palace or in other situations associated with Nadia. Plays during her tarot readings. 

“Ascending the Vale” by Kevin MacLeod: Plays throughout the story in uplifting moments, but most often associated with Asra (for example, it plays if you explore his gateway with him). 

“Mystic Force” by Kevin MacLeod: A “magic” theme heard occasionally throughout the soundtrack, usually during intense moments -- for example, when chasing Scout out of the labyrinth in Lucio’s route or when you find Inanna covered in blood in your shop during Muriel’s route. Plays when you spin the Wheel of Fortune.

“Memory” by Keith Holden: Seems to be Asra’s leitmotif, playing most often (but not exclusively) in situations associated with him.

“Bittersweet” by Kevin MacLeod: Julian’s main romantic theme, heard most often in his route, for example when he breaks up with you on the docks. Also heard occasionally in other routes.

“Kasbah” by Juan Mares: The marketplace theme! Time to pick up some pumpkin bread.

“Pravda Manuchi” by Chad Farran: Heard all over the place, in all routes. The “day” Heart Hunter theme.

“Master Disorder” by Kevin MacLeod: Plays in the Red Market and in other sneaky/tense situations, such as the initial meeting with the Devil in all routes. The “night” Heart Hunter theme. 

“Bizet’s Habanera” by Keith Holden: Nadia’s theme. Plays when first arriving at the Palace in the intro, and in other situations in which Nadia is throwing shade.

“Crowd Hammer” by Kevin MacLeod: Muriel’s theme. Plays almost exclusively in situations associated with him.

“Hidden Past” by Kevin MacLeod: Morga’s theme. Plays when she’s introduced in Lucio’s route and Muriel’s route.

“Miri’s Magic Dance” by Kevin MacLeod: Julian’s theme. Plays in the Rowdy Raven and in situations involving him or his family matters.

“As I Figure” by Kevin MacLeod: Tasya’s theme. Plays only in Portia’s route so far.

“Sardana” by Kevin MacLeod: Plays during the Masquerade in Julian’s route (when he says “I love this song!”). 

“Magic Hour” by Neil Cross: Plays when you dance on the table. (Also plays during the Masquerade in Asra’s route, but does anyone associate it with Asra?)

“Tango de Marzana” by Kevin MacLeod: Plays when you dance with Nadia in her route. (Conveniently brings back the “Habanera” leitmotif, despite being by a different artist!)

“Danse Macabre” by Kevin MacLeod: Plays during the Masquerade in all routes.

“Deep Haze” by Kevin MacLeod: Slow romantic theme. Plays whenever you bathe with characters, and in other, similar situations. Hearing it is often (but not always) an indication that something slightly sexy is about to happen.

“Vanishing” by Kevin MacLeod: Unsettling theme first heard when you enter Lucio’s wing for the first time. Usually plays in situations involving ghost-Lucio or the courtiers, or any time the Apprentice is investigating something spooky.

“Curse of the Scarab” by Kevin MacLeod: Action theme, plays during the trial by combat in Asra’s route, and when you confront Vlastomil in Nadia’s route. 

“River of Io” by Kevin MacLeod: Tense and unsettling theme, plays while running from the guards in Julian’s route.

“Lightless Dawn” by Kevin MacLeod: This track sounded like “abandoned science lab” to me even before I first encountered it in Valdemar’s underground lab in Julian’s route. (It’s got a similar vibe to “Here We Are” from Undertale.) It plays most often in places associated with the plague, for instance the lab and the Lazaret.

“The Complex” by Kevin MacLeod: Intense theme that plays most often during action scenes in the magical realms (for example, inside the Tower, or when trying to reach the Hanged Man). 

“Black Vortex” by Kevin MacLeod: Plays during the most intense and desperate encounters with the Devil.

“Wounded” by Kevin MacLeod: Plays during the heavy, sad, emotional scenes, for example in Julian’s route when he is hanged, in Asra’s route on the Lazaret when he explains to the Apprentice how he found what was left of their body, or in Lucio’s route when he confronts the souls of the plague victims. Plays numerous times on Muriel’s route.

“Gymnopedie No. 1″ by Kevin MacLeod: Plays in the Star’s lighthouse on all routes, and in the Priestess’s temple in Nadia’s route.

“Ryno’s Theme” by Kevin MacLeod: Plays during the most triumphant moments, such as when confronting Lucio during the finale of Nadia or Julian’s routes. 

“Sneaky Snitch” by Kevin MacLeod: Familiar to most denizens of the Internet, but appearing very scarcely within the game. I’ve only heard it twice -- once in the intro while Portia is fighting off Camio, and once in Lucio’s route.

“Magic Forest” by Kevin MacLeod:  Plays only in the magic forest that you visit with Morga during Muriel’s route.

And that’s all I’ve got. I haven’t gotten any reversed endings because I like happy endings! So, I definitely don’t have it all figured out yet. Here are the ones I’m missing:

“Glittering Essence“-- saw in a YT comment that this plays in Asra’s reversed ending? Not sure if it plays anywhere else.  “Final Count” by Kevin MacLeod -- also a reversed ending one? “Ghost Story” by Kevin MacLeod -- sounds familiar, but I’m pretty sure it’s also a reversed ending one. “Undaunted” by Kevin MacLeod -- also sounds familiar. I’m pretty sure I’ve heard it in-game at least once, but I’m not sure where.

There’s also this weird, ambient track that plays when the Apprentice has a disturbing vision, or similar. For example, here. Anyone have any idea what that is? It might be a part of one of the tracks I’ve already listed.

Anyway, I hope this was useful! The soundtrack is actually pretty put-together for being a compilation of Royalty Free music.
