The Tintin Timeline

So the Tintin canon continuity is, uh, a mess. It's a "floating timeline" specifically, which is a literary term for when serialized media takes place during the present of whenever it's being worked on. However, nobody seems to have taken a look at the exact timeline within the canon, and exactly how long the stories take place within Tintin's life. All of the following data is approximate, with most of it taken from the setting boxes (i.e. "Two days later") and by studying how many nights pass within each story.

A quick note: Certain spans of time in the book are designated with vague quantifiers, such as “several” or “a few”. However, 7 days is always designated with “a week”. I explain my estimation where necessary, but I usually see the former spans as being within 3-5 days. Again, these are all approximations and I am not claiming any sort of canon declaration; these are presented for entertainment purposes.

Land of the Soviets: 9 days

Congo: 22 days (Tintin spends at least 17 days in the Congo, while his journey there on the boat is said to take “several days”. Given the mode of transport and the distance, I have estimated it as being about 5 days.)

America: approx. 3 weeks (20-23 days)

Cigars: approx. 2 weeks (15-18 days)

Blue Lotus: approx. 4 weeks (25-30 days)

The Broken Ear: approx. 6 weeks (39-42 days)

Black Island: 7 days

Ottokar: approx. 2 weeks (14-15 days)

Crab: approx. 2 weeks (13-14 days)

Shooting Star: approx. 5 weeks (the main story elapses over 20 days; the last page has a scene “some weeks” later, which I interpreted as a fortnight)

Unicorn: approx. 10 days

Rackham: approx. 48 days (The main story seems to elapse over 45 days, and the last page seems to happen some days later)

Seven Crystal Balls: 9 days

Prisoners of the Sun: at least 41 (there are three unaccounted-for periods, when 1. Tintin’s group is climbing the mountains [“days go by” until “one morning”, which I interpreted as being at least 3 days], 2. when they trek through the jungle [”the days go by”, again 3 days], and 3. at the end of the book [”several days later”, interpreted as 6 days])

Black Gold: approx. 27 days (13 days + “some weeks” estimated as a fortnight. The ensuing album opens with Haddock and Tintin returning home, where they hear Calculus has been gone since three weeks before)

Destination Moon: approx. 144 days (This one has the larges jumps in time. The first 36 pages happen over 41 days, then “some months” pass, estimated at 3)

Explorers: 10 days

Calculus Affair: 11 days

Red Sea Sharks: 30 days

Tibet: 33 days

Castafiore Emerald: at least 21 days (there are 18 accounted-for days, and then a period indicated just with “The days go by”. Given how most time lapses in the book are spans of 3 days, this period was at least three days long as well)

Flight 714 to Sydney: 1 day + 7 days (main story; pages 60-62 take place about a week later)

Picaros: 15 days

Total: The events of the The Adventures of Tintin take place over approximately 613 days.

But is it a linear timeline? We have no word on how much time passes between each album, but we’ll add at least one week between each one - except for America/Cigars/Lotus, Destination/Explorers, Crystal/Prisoners, and Unicorn/Rackham - just to give each album’s settings enough time to transition into a new story. This gives us an additional 17 weeks (17 x 7 days). With all of this calculated together, the series happens over the course of approximately 2 years, 2 days...at least, according to a bored fan who likes to count (ง ื▿ ื)ว

So, actually, my thoughts are on whether Yamata no Orochi knows how to love and what will come of it:

As you have already noted, this will not be ”love“ in the traditional sense of the word. Forget that word altogether while you're reading this post lol

If they're just like stupid followerwho "eat" whatever the Serpent Lord offers, let's be honest, 10,000%, that he's just using s/o to the very limit until the very soul of his cute lamb is destroyed. Although if Orochi likes them, he will turn s/o into a cute little snake

Yes, as you pointed out earlier, he won't see them as worthy if s/o offered themselves to him from the start. This guy wants to have fun before he gets something and destroys it

Orochi definitely uses s/o romantic feelings to use them not to their full 100, but to their full 1000% potential, like I said, he can really drive them so far that s/o can meet a fate much worse than death

The great evil deity (it's even stated in his in-game profile) doesn't know how to love. From my point of view, Yamata no Orochi can get attached but not show love. I also think he's only willing to have sex with the right person for pleasure and doesn't care if they get pregnant in the end. What is interesting to Orochi is how he can influence his children in the future and use them for his evil purposes, or just consume them. You won't know what this guy wants to do until he does it is all I can say here ┐(︶▽︶)��

With the personality you describe, I think Orochi would miss s/o if they died and/or if he didn't manage to turn them into a little snake. But nothing more than that, especially romantically. Even in theory, I don't see someone with that personality around him as an equal. This guy is too smart bastard. The Serpent Lord needs someone who's equal or superior

EXTRA: I do think someone as evil or at least gray in regards to morality could get Orochi's attention, but for s/o to go beyond him treating them like his previous allies (Tsukuyomi, Izanami), they would have to be incredibly unique and have a number of abilities (not just superpowers, but as a person) that he wouldn't be able to replace or sacrifice. That's a topic for a separate post to be honest XD

It's a love that's meant to be - Chapter 1

Summary: Drabble based on the word "Share".

AN: I was just thinking about the lineup one day, and how KaiSuChen can be very clingy at times, and so this happened hahah (ง ื▿ ื)ว♡

Not a word had been uttered, yet the two of them understood what the other refused to do.

To share.

Chance had put them next to their favourite person, and it just so happened that they both liked to hold what they liked close.

“Hyung.” A hiss was directed towards the shorter of the two, and it got a hiss in return.

“What?” 

If the person in-between them heard them he didn’t show it - EXO’s Suho was still smiling like he always did, seemingly focused on the interview that was taking place and oblivious to the frustration that was bubbling beneath the surface.

“Mine,” Kai growled, and even as he put on a smirk for the camera he showed with every ounce of his being that the word was intended to sound threatening. But it didn’t scare Chen.

“Mine.” Chen put his hands around Suho’s shoulder, cheshire grin never leaving his lips. 

They didn’t lock eyes even once, they didn’t need to do that to know what the other wanted, but what they did see was the nervous look that flickered past Suho’s face, and they both realised that they had been caught.

“Jongin, Jongdae, could you come here for a second?”

Junmyeon called for them when they got home, and even if they weren’t Chen and Kai right now they still gave each other a dark look before leaving the others by the tv. Junmyeon raised his eyebrows seeing that and he addressed it as soon as he had shut the door behind them.

“Seriously, what are you doing? Why are you eyeing each other like that? We’re brothers now, for heaven’s sake!” Jongdae and Jongin had the decency to look embarrassed, hanging their heads in shame as they prepared for the scolding that was sure to come. “I don’t know why you’re fighting, but I have to ask you to stop, and-”

But by now they weren’t listening, instead they were staring at Junmyeon in awe.

“Do you really not know why we’re fighting?” Junmyeon gave them a confused look that quickly morphed into fear as they started to smile and get closer, a squeak escaping his lips as he was suddenly pushed into a nearby sofa and hugged from both sides.

“Maybe it isn’t such a bad idea after all.” Jongin finally looked Jongdae in the eye as he said this, Junmyeon pliant in their embrace though he still made it very clear that he didn't have a clue what was going on.

“What is not a bad idea?” 

They both laughed at their dear leader’s confusion and put their heads against his shoulders at the same time.

“To share.”

 Surprise, surprise, it’s actually a story book!

That story book was told to a little girl (with a Kuroneko-sama plushie) by her grandma. Her grandma also mentioned Meryl being a grandma. 

Her papa made her a red dress? Gee, I wonder if it’s red because of Vash’s signature coat?（ ゜o ゜) Oh and her grandma is…Milly??? *That one sticker my friend keep sending with Sock from Bluey with explosions in the background*

NAAAAAAAAW!!! (ᗒᗨᗕ) Man, it’d be nice for Vash to visit Milly and Meryl when they’re grandmas! Like, they can drink tea and catch up on life. Vash loves kids so he would love to play with their granddaughter! Maybe Wolfwood can just visit as a ghost and the kid’s the only one who could see him, I dunno.┐(°ヮ°)┌

Final thoughts: I really like the story book part, it’s nice to remember the Trigun story that way. The characters also look silly in the artstyle. After reading this one I imagined that Meryl and Milly got married and adopted a son and then that son has a daughter. Also, I google translated the title and “Les Enfants” means “The Children” in French, but not really sure why it’s called that. I thought maybe because they were both just children when they experienced horrible things.

Hey so, remember that in the end Meryl and Milly became reporters? Well, since Vash keeps running away, the show became a variety show.

They tried cooking but it didn’t go very well (Oh hey, it’s the father and son that Vash stayed with after Knives asked them for help! And the kid’s eating apples…if you know, you know)

OOOOOOOH~, Meryl got caught on camera talking about Vash fanservice!! (ง ื▿ ื)ว Speaking of that, would you guys like to see some? I guess that one scene where Vash’s scars were revealed for the first time was kinda fanservice.

Final thoughts: I really love this one!! I like the ways that Meryl and Milly were trying to fill up their broadcasting time. Nice to see some other characters made appearances here. Overall, this might just be the silliest of all the stories in Multiple Bullets! ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

What's less clear is where the divide lies between nations playing checkers with smaller nations as the pieces and Corporations playing chess with superpowers as their pawns.

The State is powerful, powerful enough to hide whatever it wants from whoever it cares to But the State is also big, and still analog in a lot of places. There are paper trails for every unsavory task they've ever ordered, even if they'll probably remain buried under the sands of filing cabinets until the sun goes cold.

Megs are different- Younger. Not quite as all-powerful (y'know, in terms of stockpiled bombs), but also not as restricted. So when they want to go to war with one another, they don't have to sing songs about peacekeeping or stability

They just send in the Consultants.▓▒░(°◡°)░▒▓

That's what they're called, apparently. Dryworkers or Dockworkers are also code for it, according to my research, but those terms might be falling out of use. Ah I knew I'd get asked this! A number of things really:

- Work + School combo makes my schedule pretty tight

- Chronic Fatigue leaves me with little energy at the end of the day >⁠.⁠<

I love writing with my whole heart! And I wanna write more, it hurts not to (*/□＼*)

Ohhh boy, let me think:

Mmm... If I had to pick then I'd go with those that ship Deku x Uraraka.

I'm not a shipper myself, but I have 0 (zero) judgement for those that do! (Have fun with it!)

But personally I think it's quite a boring ship. It's already written in the story to seem like they'd get together but I prefer more creative ships, I like the odd and the different! I like seeing people have fun with their own creations! ƪ(ꈍДꈍ ;)ʃ

For example, I have friends that ship Deku with Bakugo (neat! I think they have the chemistry and like how the story revolves around them growing together), and more friends that ship Uraraka and Toga (cute! I really liked their story, I could feel the tension between them in the war arc and thought it was well written)

But I feel any ship that deviates from the "norm" tends to get beaten down outside of Tumblr (`‐ω‐´) I love creativity among people and even more to see people enjoying themselves and their creations, so I've grown to despise one of the most popular ships since it's the main cause of people snuffing others creative flames out
