A Comprehensive Bitch-Fest of the Teen Wolf Movie
Alright guys, as promised, here is the comprehensive text post of the Teen Wolf Movie.
Under this cut will contain a pretty extensive plot (for those of us who don’t want to watch the movie). I’m gonna do another post under this one with my personal thoughts, and some fun little bones to pick with Mr. Davis surrounding canon (or lack thereof, as it were) and uh. Plot decisions all around.
Most importantly, though, THERE WILL BE SPOILERS! If you haven’t seen the movie, and you don’t want spoilers, PLEASE DO NOT LOOK UNDER THE CUT!
I’m sure there won’t be much anyone hasn’t seen, yet, but I digress.
⚠️HERE BE SPOILERS!⚠️
PLOT
We open with Liam and Hikari (the new kitsune) at some sort of restaurant in what appears to be rural Japan.
Somebody, who we later learn is Harris (and tbh, you would pick up on it if you paid any attention at ALL in seasons 1-3. I literally wrote IS THAT HARRIS????? WHAT THE FUCK the moment i saw him.), comes in looking for the triskelion container that the nogitsune is trapped in. He puts an Argent round on the counter, which I still cannot fathom why, because it’s never addressed.
Naturally, a scuffle occurs, Harris shoots Liam and Hikari, and he says something about how he wants revenge on Beacon Hills before he opens the box. A firefly flies out, you get the gist.
The movie cuts to LA, and shows a building in the process of collapsing. Deaton is out front, talking to a firefighter about how he’s called someone they call “the Alpha” to rescue a girl and her dog from the building.
Yep, you guessed it, folks. Scott McCall runs an animal shelter in LA next to Deaton’s new veterinary practice.
Scott obviously goes in the building, which partially collapses on him, but flashes his eyes at the dog, and saves the girl and the dog when the building collapses around them.
The main credits roll, opening the movie. It is evident upon opening credits that Scott, Allison, Lydia, and Malia are going to be the main characters. Kudos, though. The credits were cool.
We cut to Scott’s animal shelter (or Deaton’s vet hospital? unclear). Scott and Deaton have a discussion where Deaton has to explain the word “wistful” to a 30-year-old Scott and Scott repeats it like he’s studying for the SATs. I’m all for nostalgia but uh. That one icked me out. Anyways, Scott goes to lock up, and then sees a vision of Allison, reenacting the first night he met her when she hit the dog and took it to the vet. He shakes it off, but hears the dogs barking in the back , and he goes to investigate.
Surprise, it’s Argent pointing a gun at Scott. It freaks Scott out, but they bro hug it out, like men. He’s come back to see Scott because he’s been seeing Allison too, in these weird dreams and visions.
Argent has the katana the oni used to kill Allison, and is convinced they need to take it to Beacon Hills to put her to rest or something?
Scott, obviously not noticing that the vibes are Rancid, agrees, and they decide to head back to BH, which they both haven’t been back to in a while, it seems like.
Cut scene to Lydia, giving some sort of presentation and walking around a very high-end company of some sort. We find out that Lydia, instead of actually putting information in the booklets she handed out to the tour, has written Allison over and over again. (it’s also implied that the person they use as a plot device to introduce this was or is, in some way, romantically involved with Lydia).
Lydia runs to her office, where she has one of her banshee visions, and writes a ton of stuff on various pieces of paper in a pattern we can’t yet discern. She’s getting flashbacks of Allison the entire time.
Cut scene. Eli Hale (i squealed. im not above that. that’s derek’s boy, guys) is breaking into what appears to be some kind of impound lot. He hotwires what is apparent to us is Stiles’s Jeep.
Eli busts out of the chain link fencing, and is hauling ass and driving down a very recognizable Beacon Hills road. He flies by a parked Sheriff’s Department patrol vehicle, and we see it’s driven by Parrish.
Cut to what appears to be the Preserve. Mason, a deputy (more on that later. i hate it) walks over to the Sheriff, and asks if Parrish should deal with their consultant’s issue. It is clear they are talking about Eli, and the Sheriff says he’ll handle it.
Derek walks out of the forest (notes: DERKE. COMING OUT OF THE WOODS. SDJHFKDHSGKJHDSGH. DEREK. DEREK.) which has clearly been burned, and informs the Sheriff that the arsonist used chemical accelerant. He then tells the Sheriff that “we should be calling your son” to which the Sheriff replies “he has his own fires to put out.” This is one of MAYBE 5 Stiles mentions in the movie.
The Sheriff asks Derek why he keeps stealing the Jeep, to which Derek replies, “because he knows I hate it.” (your honor. that’s gay.)
Cut to Eli still driving, and the Jeep’s tires go flat. He’s ambushed by the Sheriff, Parrish, and his father. Derek tells him they’ll talk about it later.
Cut to the cemetery Allison was buried at. Scott’s there, and he goes to her grave. The cemetery is overgrown, uncared for. Lydia pulls up, and Scott thanks her for getting there so fast, but she just gives him a big hug.
They decide that they need to do something about this Allison thing, too. Scott repeatedly punches Allison’s marker, until it cracks.
Cut to the McCall’s. Scott, Lydia, and Argent are around the island, where the katana in its’ case is sitting. Argent asks Lydia what her drawings mean, and she says she has no idea. She hasn’t used her banshee powers in a while and is out of practice. When someone asks why, and she’s silent, Jackson walks in, saying “Stiles. It obviously has something to do with Stiles”
Lydia called Jackson in from London to help, and Jackson states that Ethan doesn’t know he’s there, because he doesn’t want anything to do with BH.
Jackson promptly starts putting Lydia’s papers together like a puzzle, which, surprise surprise, is in the shape of the nemeton, with the word “BARDO” written boldly in the middle (a refresher: bardo is the space between death and rebirth, as believed by Tibetan Buddhism)
Cut to Derek’s house, where he’s pulling up to (in the ugliest tan vehicle, a Nissan Xterra if my eyes don’t deceive me. bring back the FJ. this is cursed). He and Eli go into the house, and when Derek goes to hang up the keys, he promptly rips the hook off the wall.
He scolds Eli for breaking the law, yet again, to which Eli responds, “oh, because you never broke the law?” (good comeback, kiddo.) Derek then asks Eli if this is about “the other thing” and we learn that Eli still can’t shift, despite being 15. Derek insists that he can teach Eli, and Eli asks, “what if I’m the first hale to not turn into a werewolf?”
Derek tells Eli that it might make life easier, and when Eli asks “my life, or yours?”, Derek doesn’t respond. Eli runs to his room, and Derek mutters, in the way a tired parent would, “definitely mine.”
We cut to where Parrish is driving the Jeep back to the lot, and he drives by the building where the lot is housed, emblazoned, “Hale Auto.” (notes: ITS HALE AUTO. DEREK RUNS AN AUTO SHOP. SCREAMING CRYING THROWING UP ETC. OHHHHH MY GOD)
Parrish walks into the shop, into the office, and Malia enters, butt-ass naked, and ambushes Parrish with a kiss. (again. more on this later. because absolutely not). they have sex (off screen obvi this is still teen wolf) and they have a conversation that makes it evident that Malia wants them to remain friends with benefits, and Parrish wants a relationship.
Cut back to Derek’s house. He knocks on Eli’s door, and asks him if he wants to practice lacrosse before his game (it was established earlier that Eli is pretty bad at lacrosse. it’s giving Stiles but more on that later)
Eli doesn’t answer, so Derek opens the door, and it cuts to the open window, obvious Eli has run away. (why didn’t he hear that? not sure. whatever.)
Cut back to the Preserve. Scott and Lydia pull up in Scott’s red truck to one of the gates, Malia standing there waiting for them. It’s obvious Scott hasn’t seen Malia since they broke up off-screen, because he’s weird about it. Lydia tells Malia she missed her while hugging her, and Malia says the same thing. Lydia replies “no you didnt” and Malia says “I wanted to.” that one kinda. it kinda got me idk.
Scott and Lydia have asked Malia to help them find the nemeton. They have the katana with them.
Cut back to... somewhere? An enclosed space, of some kind. Might be the weird Argent batcave. Anyways. Deaton and Argent are there, and Deaton is grilling Argent with riddles, which Argent answers easily, but with increasing agitation. Eventually, Argent snaps, and snarls at Deaton, face mutating to look similar to the oni. Deaton sends mountain ash into Argent’s throat, and a firelfy is forced out. It becomes evident to everyone at this point that the nogitsune is back, at least to everyone but Scott, Malia, and Lydia. ffs.
Cut back to Scott, Malia, and Lydia. Malia is sending them in circles looking for the nemeton, and it’s obvious she has no idea where it is. Scott yanks Eli Hale from behind a tree (very reminiscent of Scott in s1e1), and Eli’s been following them. He divests that sometimes he sleepwalks to the nemeton. Super normal. normal kid stuff.
Eli leads them to the nemeton, and they immediately try to get rid of him. Eli tells them they’ll tell his dad they’re here, to which they IMMEDIATELY (ie Scott) say “it’s kind of personal” which, from Derek Hale, is really fucking rich. but again. later. it’s pretty clear they’re excluding him because he might actually have, i dunno, an objective opinion. god. sorry. fuck this.
Lydia gets the sword in the nemeton and the nemeton absorbs it. not to be that guy but this is obviously a bad idea and we all knew it. (note: i wanna know why we didn’t instantly think that this is a bad idea this is so obviously a bad idea)
They all turn to leave, and at their backs, the nemeton begins to emit a light blue glow. they turn, and find Allison naked on the stump. Scott stares, and they’re all like “how is she alive??” like god guys
They drive Allison to the hospital, where Melissa is the first person to go “why are you holding a girl that looks exactly like Allison” like a normal person. Melissa gets her set up in a bed, yknow the drill.
Cut back to the nemeton, which is glowing and spewing fireflies like it’s going out of style. The nogitsune appears on top of it, manifesting out of smoke, and says “chaos! pain! strife” in his campy little way.
Cut to Beacon Hills High, where the lacrosse team is filing in and coach is giving one of his goofy ass speeches. he was probably the only genuine nostalgia in this movie that I enjoyed.
Eli drops his crosse as he walks in and runs smack into the Sheriff, who’s standing right in front of the stairwell. Derek is actually in the stairwell, lurking in what I would describe as classic Derek fashion. Derek tells him he’s there to watch him play, and when Eli tells him he’ll probably sit on the bench, Derek tells him he’s gonna talk to coach about that. Eli protests, but Derek calls out to coach, and the Sheriff blocks Eli from running after him.
Sheriff tells Eli that he’s not really here to watch him play -- he’s here to provide support for Derek and his delinquent son. He then threatens to arrest Eli, have him tried as an adult, and put him in a state penitentiary for 90 days if he steals the Jeep again. Eli, looking nervous, asks if his dad put him up to this. The Sheriff says maybe, but asserts that he’d do it.
Cut to Derek in Coach’s office, and asking for more playing time for Eli. Coach negotiates four minutes, and only if they’re winning. Which is very Coach of him.
Cut back to the hospital, where Melissa, Scott, Malia, and Lydia are contemplating if Allison is going to wake up, or if she’s “normal.” Melissa is the one who asserts that we don’t know if this is the real Allison.
When they look back, Allison is gone from her bed. She’s obviously going through it when we see her -- getting flashbacks from when she was actively trying to kill the werewolves, hearing Kate, Victoria, etc in her ears, and this is obviously the nogitsune.
Allison, once they find her, is immediately combative, and trying to escape. She kicks everyone’s ass, including Scott’s, who she cuts across the cheek, and he heals, exposing himself as a werewolf. She only remembers Derek as the alpha, though, and wants to kill him -- she’s after the alpha. So she bolts, leaving them all behind. She runs into Deaton and Argent, who enter the hospital, and she runs from him, which is devastating for me even as somebody who is not an Argent girlie.
Cut to the Sheriff’s Department, where Mason tells the Sheriff that they have another problem. They’ve caught pictures of the guy in a dark, heavy coat with a hood (it’s Harris. We know it’s Harris) and he’s the one who’s been lighting the forest on fire. The Sheriff orders Mason with Parrish, and a new deputy with him, to the forest to investigate. This leaves one deputy alone in the department. I’m sure we see where this is going.
The deputy hears a noise in the cells, grabs his gun, and moves that way. The nogitsune is in the cell, and he tells the deputy he’s a kitsune who never knew he was a kitsune. He steals the deputy’s tails “to summon other bodies” which is about as frightening as it sounds.
Cut to the Argent’s batcave, where Allison is currently arming herself with a crossbow, arrows, daggers, and a longbow. The nogitsune is whispering her name, and she goes, armed, into one of the weird side pipes, where the nogitsune is standing. The nogitsune tells Allison it’s her friend, she doesn’t believe him right away, so it starts impersonating Victoria. The nogitsune is convincing her to get revenge on the people that stopped it, and its plan is to have the betas killed before the alpha. Allison just doesn’t know who the alpha is, obviously. There’s mention of the divine move, again, yknow.
Back to the BHHS locker rooms, where Derek is carrying Eli into the locker room because he twisted his ankle. Eli isn’t healing because he can’t shift, or whatever. Derek tries to encourage him to shift, and this is when Allison sneaks into the locker room, crossbow and all, and immediately starts trying to kill Derek.
Derek reacts on autopilot, and starts fighting Allison, telling Eli to run. He slams Alison against the lockers, wolfed out, and Allison notices that his eyes are blue. Derek obviously recognizes Allison and falters, but manages to run out of the locker room door. While he runs out, he gets shot in the neck, and he is immediately gushing blood, lying on the ground and crawling away from Allison, who moves towards him purposefully.
Liam shows up right on time to try and save Derek, along with Hikari, Scott, and Malia. Allison has left BHHS. The whole time Derek is bleeding he’s begging them to find Eli, make sure he’s safe, he’s gone to the shop. Scott tells Derek to hang in there, but Derek passes out. We’re unsure if he’s alive or dead (read: i thought he was dead. i was sobbing)
Cut to the scene of the arson with the Sheriff, Parrish, and Mason. The Sheriff recognizes the noise that precedes the oni, and immediately draws his gun. The oni appear, and immediately start fighting the Sheriff and deputies.
Cut to Scott’s truck -- Derek is still very much alive. But they can’t find Eli, and they’re afraid because he can’t run.
Back to the Preserve with the deputies. Mason is immediately cut down by an oni, vanishing into smoke. It looks like the Sheriff is going to get cut, but Parrish catches his blade with a flaming hand.
They’re carrying Derek into Melissa’s; he’s still bleeding from his neck, but keeps repeating “you have to find Eli.” At this point, Peter appears from god knows where holding a blowtorch? Because they mentioned they needed to cauterize Derek’s wound and people just. Have those. love you pete. Derek cries out “no!” repeatedly as Peter blowtorches his wound (spoiler alert: i cried like a little bitch again.)
Scott goes looking for Lydia to fix this little clusterfuck we have ourselves in, and before he leaves, Melissa asks Scott if there’s any chance that this is really Allison (essentially encouraging him to give her a chance)
Cut back to Eli at Hale auto. He’s driving Derek’s horrible car to fill it up, and the gas isn’t pumping well. It’s pouring rain, he’s nervous, and naturally Allison comes in hauling ass. She hits his car with hers, sending it into the pump, gasoline still pumping onto the ground. Eli manages to get into Hale Auto with his key.
Cut to the Sheriff’s Department, where Lydia, Jackson, Hikari, and Liam are in the Sheriff’s office. They’re all looking for clues. like. scooby doo.
And we’re back to Melissa’s! Where everyone (Melissa, Argent, Deaton, and Peter) has agreed that Allison is a replica meant to trick everyone.
And back to Hale’s Auto! So much happening sorry guys. Eli is limping through the shop and the cars in repair, eventually sliding down against one. Allison is also lurking through the shop, weapons at the ready. Eli slips around, and grabs a wrench. (note: okay eli be smart about this you dumbass 15 year old) And instead of being smart, he lunges at her with a wrench and promptly gets his ass beat.
Fortunately enough for everyone, because Derek Hale is down like Jeff Davis is so fond of, Scott shows up to save the day. They run out of the shop, and back by the impounded cars. Scott gives Eli the werewolf pep talk, naturally, because Eli doesn’t have a father already (sorry guys im so bitter), and he roars at Eli. Eli’s eyes flash gold, and he heals. Now they can run. They run through the forest, like they do in teen wolf, and Scott stops and tells Eli he’s gonna have to run. His hand is all gross where Allison cut him because wolfsbane, and he thinks he’s gonna try and talk Allison down.
Eli says “my dad told me he almost had to have his arm cut off once because of wolfsbane.” Scott replies with, “Eli, go find your dad. I think I might need his help.” (note: oh NOW you need his help scott) Eli runs off, Scott’s facing off Allison.
Back at the Sheriff’s board, and they’ve figured out that the arsonist is the same guy who was at Hikari and Liam’s place. Cool.
Okay we’re back to Eli, who is running in the road and almost gets hit by somebody. That somebody is the Sheriff. Nice, Noah.
Melissa, Argent, and Peter are at the crime scene (ie Hale Auto). Peter and Argent are going through the crime scene, deducing what’s going on. Peter states that Allison is basically in homicidal rage, which Argent states proves that’s not his daughter. Peter says they went into the woods, so they all go looking for Allison and Scott.
We’re at Derek’s house now -- Derek and Eli get a reunion hug, the Sheriff comes in, and Liam and Hikari are there, too. The oni are now also in the hall of Derek’s house. Great. Hikari fights them first, doing a great job - and she’s been run through and has evaporated. The same thing happens to Liam, leaving Deaton, the Sheriff, Eli, and Derek fighting the Oni. The Sheriff goes first, followed by Deaton. Eli watches Derek get run through, and right before he evaporates, Derek says “remember who you are” (it’s giving mufasa but tell that to my tears).
Cut back to the Preserve, where Scott is arguing with Allison to not try to kill everyone? I’m not gonna lie this was a broken record.
And we’re back to the Hale’s, where Malia and Eli are running. Malia tells Eli to run, but Eli decides that now is a good time to growl and attack the Oni. He gets evaporated into smoke the same way as the others, and Malia manages to get rid of the oni by pulling tarp off the window and bathing them in sunlight.
Scott tells Allison that she can get him if that’s what they need to talk, and STABS HIMSELF BY GRABBING ALLISON’S ARM AND SENDING WOLFSBANE RIGHT INTO HIS GUT.
Jackson and Lydia have decided to go to the site of the arson, where they’re trying to figure out what the purpose was, etc. (notes i made: jackson and lydia cannot make up for stiles stilinski)
Peter, Melissa, and Argent have made it to where Allison stabbed Scott (that overlook over BH), and Peter sniffs the ground, declaring it’s a ton of blood there, and that they need to find Scott within 6-8 hours so he doesn’t die.
Alright, Malia and Parrish are looking for silver weapons to defeat the oni and decidedly not talking about the fact that they’re friends with benefits. this was unnecessary.
Jackson and Lydia are back at the arson site, and they’ve figured out that the arsonist (harris) is trying to create mountain ash. the trees he’s burning are rowan, which turn into mountain ash when burnt.
Meanwhile, Scott is trying to convince Allison that she wants him alive. He reminds Allison that her family’s motto was changed by her -- we protect those who cannot protect themselves, instead of “we hunt those who hunt us.” She promptly like, kicks Scott over. Scott, cmon, man.
The nogitsune comes back, to try and convince Allison to kill Scott.
We flash to some sort of shadow dimension illusion, where everyone who was “killed” by the oni is all tied up and decidedly not dead, fortunately. However, the Oni are back and they’re getting all menacingly close. This, however, does not stop Derek from being so excited to hear Eli changed. I may have cried about it. Again.
Flash to Peter, Argent, and Melissa, who are standing in the woods over the college lacrosse field, where a tournament is being played. We learn this is a trap from the nogitsune, and spoilers, this is where Allison has Scott. In like a storage room or something. This is, also, where we officially learn that the hooded man is Harris. Not that all of us called it or anything. But he’s the one who came up with the accelerant (like the hale fire. cmon guys. can we stop with the metaphorical dead horse.)
The nogitsune is threateningly moving towards Eli and sinking his claws into him. I’m sorry I don’t remember what he said I was too busy thinking about the parallels between Eli and Stiles and how I was already too hurt to be considering that.
Alright, back to Allison and Scott. Allison decides to save Scott by... burning the wolfsbane out with a flare? Despite having no wolfsbane? love the new canon, Jeff. Fuck you.
Scott has flashbacks to Motel California when she approaches him with the flare, but she does actually save him, Scott’s better, and Allison is remembering. hooray for love.
The nogitsune has spat Eli right out on the lacrosse field from the shadow dimension, and Scott and Allison come out from underneath it. Scott tells Allison to be safe, because she wants to find her dad, who doesn’t know it’s actually her and not some evil doppelganger. She asks him why he would be so kind after she tried to kill him, and then Scott says “because I’m still in love with you” (notes from the time of watching: you are not still in love with allison im fucking OVER IT)
Lydia and Jackson are under the stadium with Harris, who calls Jackson “you fucking imbecile!” nice use of the fuck word, Jeff. Die. He also keeps shooting Jackson which is less than cash money of him.
Eli and Scott learn that they’re stuck in the college stadium, because it’s a giant illusion. Scott tries to convince coach to get the people out of the stadium safely and calmly, and Coach informs him the only way to do that is to finish the game. So naturally, Eli has Scott’s old number (literally fucking kill me) and Scott is dressed? To score? and have BHHS win the tournament? whatever Jeff’s losing all of us at this point.
Back in the shadow illusion, Derek explains that Eli hasn’t seen his transformation since he was like, 3, because coyotes got into the house, and he transformed and got them out by roaring, and Eli was so terrified he was shaking (notes: that’s so fucked I hate it here)
And the lacrosse field again. Scott misses a goal so bad it hits the scoreboard and breaks it. Naturally. We learn, in a cut to Lydia and Jackson and Harris, that he’s been “pulling the strings and giving the nogitsune his pain” which he has in abundance or whatever. Lydia tells us that she had a recurring dream where she and Stiles get in a wreck, and he gets thrown from the car and dies. so she breaks up with him for that. i. okay.
Peter gets the quick on Allison, bashes her head into fencing, and she knocks out. Meanwhile, Scott tells Eli it’s his goal, and he scores the game winning goal.
We’re back to Argent, Melissa, and Peter. And a semi-conscious Allison. Argent decides that really is his kid, and he throws a wolfsbane knife at Peter. Which might be a bit dramatic but Peter would do the same so. whatever I guess.
Black smoke begins to roll, and everyone has been swallowed by the illusion.
We’ve now got Allison killing the Oni, which is feeling very reminiscent of s3. Meanwhile, Lydia and Jackson are back with Harris watching this happen, and Jackson is telling her that as a banshee, she can cut through the illusion with her scream. When Lydia yells Allison’s name, she knocks back the Oni, and apparently the sense into Allison, because we have an incredibly long flashback sequence that is Allison regaining her memories. Nostalgic, sure, but entirely too long because we all watched the show asshole.
Scott cuts a deal with the nogitsune that if he dies in Allison’s arms, the nogitsune will let the others go. Derek yells at him to not, and Scott manages to convince Allison to kill him. She shoots him with arrows 3? times? I think? Anyways, he’s in her arms and it looks really glum.
But then! The arrows are burning out of him, because Hikari is burning them? Don’t know the logistics but it happened. Scott’s wreathed in foxfire, nobody knows what’s going on, and Allison shoots the nogitsune in the forehead with a silver arrow. Sorry, this is where it gets very chaotic and i got very emotional so it’s jumbled as hell.
The nogitsune asks “what is that?” and Argent says “Silver, you motherfucker.”
Back with Harris, Jackson stabs him with a knife in his boot, and Lydia got his gun.
The nogitsune has evaporated, I wrote down that Derek said fuck at some point. Everything is looking good right now. Eli and Derek are going to shift together. There was a lot.
But now! The nogitsune is back. Saying that when Scott bit him, it changed him -- made him something more. His wrappings fall off, his eyes are glowing green, he looks vaguely werewolfish. (what happened to not being a wolf and a fox you fucking coward jeff. give me your address)
The nogitsune sends everyone into their own room of illusion, which all the werewolves (ie: derek, scott, and eli) break by roaring. Now, they’re all on the nematon with the nogitsune, holding him back. I can’t remember how Eli gets from the nemeton to the ground, but he does, so it’s just Derek and Scott holding him back.
Parrish comes up like, glowing pre-flame and is intending to burn him, and Scott tells Parrish to burn the nogitsune. Parrish refuses because Scott and Derek are holding onto him, and will die if he does so. Derek looks at Eli and rest assured you know exactly what’s gonna happen. It’s Derek.
He says something to Eli along the lines of like “remember who you are” and then tells Scott “you’re the alpha, Scott. It’s always been you” or something like that, then physically throws Scott off the nogitsune and the nemeton. Derek wraps onto the nogitsune while Parrish is holding on (why the nogitsune didn’t break free while Derek was throwing Scott off is beyond me it defeats the whole purpose of having Derek die) and tells Parrish, verbatim, “Light this fucker up.”
Parrish lights him on fire and it spreads to Derek (this is when I stopped being able to see very well because Derek burned in fire just like his family oh god sorry I’m really unwell about it)
right before Derek is engulfed in flames, he’s wolfed out, he’s looking at Eli, and his eyes turn from blue to red (true alpha. Right before he dies. I’m going to burn Jeff at the stake) And he goes up in flames, all of them do, including Parrish. When the flames clear, Parrish is laying on the nemeton, curled up, and it’s obvious that Derek died. The nemeton/illusion fades back to the lacrosse stadium where Eli is kneeling alone and Scott immediately gives him a hug obviously becoming Eli’s interim father and. I hate it.
We flash to Derek’s memorial. I can’t see the tv through the tears, but that’s okay. Scott tries to make it about himself by saying “he saved my life. then he said we were brothers.” and says something about how family isn’t the one you’re born with but the one you find, which is easy for the guy who still has a fucking father to say, huh?
Noah gives Eli the Jeep, explaining Derek hated that Jeep, but when it came to him in total disrepair, he fixed it right up. Even when it shouldn’t have kept going, it did. Then he says “your dad was a lot like that. we never understood why he wouldn’t break down and stay down. I’ve never seen anyone take the kind of punishment Derek Hale took and kept taking in order to protect the people he loved.”
We get Derek flashbacks. I still can’t breathe. Sorry guys, I’m crying again. Apologies.
“He kept going. He kept standing up, until the day he couldn’t. He had complicated feelings about that Jeep, but you don’t need to. All you need to do is keep it running. That’s all you need to do.”
We get a bit about Harris being put in a worse place than Eichen but I truly don’t give a fuck. I’m actively crying again as I type this.
The movie ends with “remember who you are” in Derek’s voice with Eli standing over Beacon Hills in the Preserve.
Fuck. Jeff. Davis

Six Cycles Later -- Part I
OKAY SO. after speaking to literally two people about some oc transformer fic ive been working on, ive decided to post just chapter 1 here, to see if anyone else would like to see the ocs ive been quietly going crazy for in the background. instead of writing actual proper fanfic ive decided to just go off the rails writing a canon elaboration on characters who dont exist. i will now make it everyone elses problem.
tbh im intending to keep writing this for as long as it brings me joy, and im already working on chapter 2. whether this gets attention or not won't change that fact. just kinda posting here to garner some attention/see if anyone else would like to get invested in my silly lil ocs.
this takes place in sorta a g1/idw mixed continuity, im not particularly picky or strict about canon, because really, im just here to have fun and vibe. it will focus on my OCs, not canon characters, though a couple will still be present :> this idea has been one that nagged at me for a bit--isnt it a bit weird that the decepticons just straight up seem to abandon their prior base on earth in g1 following the movie? i wondered for a while what it'd be like if any of them were left behind. so, i've decided to make an oc for it and explore that a little. aaaaaand then i kinda went off the rails (but we'll get there, lol). if none of that is particularly off-putting to you, feel free to proceed! and comments are always appreciated if you enjoy
Summary: Invert is a nobody. One of a million Seekers constructed for a war that would claim their lives, she's survived due to her uselessness. Forged with a defective frame and kept around for a single devastating ability that hurts her to use it, she may as well be a glorified cleaning bot. Months after the other Decepticon's left to assault Autobot City, Invert remains behind on Earth, waiting, on the sunken Victory, maintaining the base and holding out hope that her brethren will eventually return.
But with only silence and an emotionless ship for company, she's started to become increasingly desperate--so much so, that, when an SOS from a ship that should be empty arrives, she just might throw caution to the wind and leave on a mission that could change her life.
Luster was somebody, once. Was. He can't remember any of it. Having disappeared at the start of the war on some ludicrous quest, only now has he awoken on a strange planet called 'Earth'. Accepted back by his Autobot brethren, the void of his past haunts him endlessly, as does a mysterious, insatiable hunger. He's determined to get to the bottom of both--but with the fog they produce only deepening, how long does he have before he's lost eternally?
Chapter 1 --Word Count 7495
Orbital cycle: 6.3. Approximately 182.5 solar cycles since initial launch for attack on Autobot City. Diagnostic report: no structural damage detected. Energon levels: 27%. Energon levels of 50% recommended for full functionality. Defense systems: offline. Offensive systems: offline. Cloaking systems: online. Communications: partially online. Power saving mode recommended at Energon levels of 25%.
She records the report in her datapad down to the final recommendation, which really was not necessary, considering any proper engineer would have understood that by now, the ship should have entered power saving mode eons ago. If it had been placed in that mode when the other Decepticons had initially left, the current Energon levels would sit comfortably at the recommended 50%, and she would still have the long distance communications beacon up. But that was in the past, where they were supposed to have returned after a few solar cycles.
It had been dozens now, and Invert was starting to wonder if her brethren were going to return. A far more patient bot like Shockwave would not have felt any doubt up to the first double digit million years–how else had he held down Cybertron for so long? By comparison she was young, having barely lived for over a million. The hundreds of solar cycles that had passed as she was left alone on the Victory were now starting to seep into her processor, bringing with them questions of uncertainty.
The raid was supposed to last barely a few days. They’d brought everyone in the local system with them. The greatest warriors the Decepticon cause had were deployed. With all of them attacking at once, even the heavily fortified Autobot City should have been leveled in under a deca-cycle.
And yet there was silence. No cries of victory. No chaotic messages on the airways calling for aid. No declaration of retreat. Just silence.
They couldn’t be defeated. If they’d been defeated they would have retreated back to Victory. If they’d gone back to Cybertron on Astrotrain, then surely Shockwave would have contacted her on earth. He knew her name. He knew he’d sent her there orbital cycles ago. He’d know they’d left her behind to hold down the fort.
There was, of course, one other option. Silence was begetting of only a few characteristics when it came to the living. The Autobots, surely, wouldn’t. They were too soft-hearted. But if the attack had truly gone so badly, and they’d deigned it necessary–
Total obliteration. Total razing. Total loss.
She pushed the thoughts swirling in her processor aside and focused back on Victory’s main computer, typing in a few commands.
“Victory, run an internal scan. How are your habsuits looking?”
A map of Victory’s internal structure appeared on the screen before her. Dozens of rooms were selected and zoomed in on, each of which specifically served as living space. One by one they started as black, then turned white as they were provided the all clear.
Structure: stable. Living conditions: adjusted. Doors: unlocked.
“Alright, that’s good…” she muttered to herself, swapping to the cameras on the outside of the ship. They revealed an empty sea around her, dark and creeping with small organics. Their crude forms made her cringe, even in the restricted view she had of them. “Gross…Victory, illuminate your external hull.”
Victory obeyed, revealing a vast expanse of metal currently covered in the earth version of space barnacles. The white-shelled creatures had opened their filthy maws, extending forth feelers characteristic of some kind of horror show. Invert grimaced and swapped the camera views, checking instead on the door to the airlock. It was immaculately clean unlike the hull, though a few many legged organics crawled across it.
She checked the back of the ship, its thrusters, its scope, and finally its body. Making a note of each location that needed proper cleaning, Invert tapped the information into her datapad and closed the camera system before issuing another command. “Victory, check the wavelengths for any signs of communication.”
The screen before her went black, turning to a single unmoving flat line. She stared at it in silence, waiting for a peak, a leap, a blur, a single beat to indicate that anyone was out there.
Nothing happened.
Frowning to herself, she tapped a button on the keyboard before her–the one for “broadcast”.
“Fellow Decepticons,” she said, “if any of you are out there, I am Invert of Cybertron, broadcasting from the Earth base Victory. I am alone here and have been so since the attack on Autobot City. If you are hearing this message, please respond.”
Her servo left the button and she waited. And waited. And waited.
And waited.
And waited.
And nothing came, as it never did.
She vented and focused back on her datapad, the frown perched upon her face seemingly eager to make it a permanent home. There was her chore list, plain and simple. It would take her several megacycles to complete: clean the habsuits, clean the storage vault, clean the weapons vault, clean the hallways, feed Victory, scrape away the organics on Victory’s hull, manage the outside of Victory, air another message after seven megacycles, spy on the Autobots if possible.
If possible. The last one was becoming an increasingly harder task to pull off. She was no Soundwave, and Victory’s listening equipment had been down for a while now to preserve power. Furthermore the equipment in Soundwave’s habsuit was either completely foreign or off-limits to her. He may not be here now, but he would return, like the others would, and if he found out she’d been messing with his items, well. She was only a lowly foot soldier, and he was the head of communications of the Decepticon cause.
She’d be lucky if only her wings were broken off and used to decorate his sparsely covered habsuit.
Speaking of her wings…she cast a glance down at the inverted things, which pointed towards the ground as opposed to the air. They would do her no favors in navigating the outside of the ship and certainly no aid in reaching the higher spots in the larger habsuits. Her boosters were functional, but the Energon they’d consume to keep her airborne would drain her at twice the levels of a normal Seeker.
She’d have to use them sparingly if she wanted to continue her present consumption rate of only one Energon cube a day. If she offlined from low power, that was fine; eventually her brethren would return, find her, and bring her back. But without her, no one would feed Victory, who would eventually offline from low power. Victory had to stay online, no matter what.
Where else would the Decepticons go when they came back, if they didn’t have Victory?
“I’ll keep you going, girl…” she whispered as she left the control room, reaching a hand out to run along the walls of the ship. Victory, as usual, was silent. It always was.
Perhaps none of the other Decepticons had shared her sentiment, but Invert had always thought of The Victory (Victory for short) as a fellow ‘con. It was a crashed ship, yes, but it was alive and functional, and it provided them a home within its body. Victory could respond to commands and hold conversations if it so wished; just the majority of the time, it preferred not to. For all she knew Victory was just trapped in permanent stasis lock, and would perhaps free itself one day.
As such, it was important to take care of Victory, for more purposes than just maintaining a Decepticon earth base. Victory was an ally with much greater might than her. If it fell, everything was lost.
That was why they’d left her behind when the entire cause had prepared for the assault on Autobot City–it had to be. Someone had to take care of Victory and it was for the better that that someone was her. Perhaps it had been said to her in a less kind way, but the others had had a point when they said that someone who couldn’t contribute properly to a fight would be better off staying behind.
Okay, they’d said it a lot less kindly. More so, they’d chided her that a flightless Seeker was utterly useless on the field despite whatever “special talent” Shockwave had promised she possessed. And for the battle of Autobot City, they needed soldiers who were functional, powerful, and wouldn’t prove dangerous to their allies as well as their foes. Besides, for swelling their numbers, they had the Insecticon clones. So someone like her, broken, glitched, and more of a liability than anything else, would only be good for ensuring that Victory didn’t somehow miraculously break while they were gone.
Because really, if Victory was invaded, it wasn’t that big of a deal. The ship was equipped to deal with invasions. Its defensive systems were more than adequate for dispatching invaders both inside and out. Invert was only present within it to mop up the Energon remains of whoever was fool enough to try.
No one had been–but that could also be attributed to the fact that the Autobots didn’t seem to know where the Decepticon base was. That, or they just didn’t care. Invert preferred the former. Why would it be inconsequential to know where the enemy’s base was, where they were likely to crawl back to and lick their wounds? And surely they were licking their wounds somewhere out there, weren’t they?
So why hadn’t they come back?
She pushed the thought away again and threw open one of the few cleaning closets the ship possessed, grabbing all the equipment she’d need to properly clear out all the habsuits. Nowadays it was more dusting than anything else, but she still brought along a mop and bucket, just in case.
The habsuits would start with Starscream’s, of course, because if she cleaned anyone else’s first and he found out, he’d throw a fit. And a fit from her commander was not something Invert wanted to sit through. He always treated her with more vitriol than any of the other Seekers, no matter how inconsequential her mistakes might be compared to theirs. She had an ounce of resentment towards him for it, countered only by the fact that, no matter how awful Starscream could be, he was deserving of respect for his flight abilities.
But that was a low bar. Any winged Decepticon could fly circles around her while all she could do was watch and seethe.
She vented and tapped the passcode to his habsuit’s door into its keypad, the double doors opening to reveal a pristine and lavishly decorated room. Starscream was nothing if not dramatic and narcissistic. All the valuables and self-care items stored in his habsuit spoke lengths to just what he’d do for a decent polish. Cleaning it was always a nightmare, even after all the times she’d done it before. If even one item was an inch out of place, she’d hear about it later.
A tiny chuckle escaped her at the thought–when was the last time she’d heard Starscream’s voice for any purpose? Be it admonishing her for attempting even once to be a proper Seeker, bossing her around, treating her as his personal slave, or verbally abusing her to let his Megatron-induced anger out, it had been so long she almost found herself forgetting how cruel the insults had been.
Almost. She entered his habsuit with her cleaning gear and checked everything over–berth, vanity, table, overly expensive one of a kind statue in his image, all the data-pads he pretended didn’t contain failed plans to assassinate their great leader, full length mirror that somehow hadn’t been broken, each and every one of his polishes and maintenance equipment, and of course, the additional weapons he kept on the wall.
There wasn’t a speck of dust on anything nor any indication of water damage. The berth was made perfectly.. The floor was clean save for her own pedeprints. And the metal of the walls gleamed like it’d been treated with the same care as Starscream himself.
There was nothing to clean, but she still gave everything a dust off, just to be safe. Giving everything one final look over for rust, Invert confirmed there to be no contamination on any of Starscream’s immensely precious belongings and left his habsuit, locking it behind her.
One down. At least fifty more to go. She vented again and moved to the next.
—-----
Maintenance was finished by the time the Earth’s sun moved high into the sky. Her internal clock read 16:23, a new method of telling time that had been adjusted for her when she’d arrived on Earth. The planet operated on a twenty-four megacycle basis, working around when the sun would orbit to the other side of the planet. The absence of the sun was named “night”, and could occur anywhere from 17:00-21:00, sometimes later. Having spent much of her time on Cybertron, she had been unaccustomed to Earth’s time, and figured it to be useless for the majority of her stay on the planet.
“Night” had its benefits, though. Its darkness concealed well, and most organics chose to enter recharge when it came on. It was the perfect time to enact plots, schemes, and occasional terrorist attacks on Autobot City.
The season Earth was presently in was dubbed “summer”. That meant night would not come until 21:00. She had time. After finishing with the habsuits, Invert focused on maintaining Victory.
At 16:28 she scraped away the organics on the outside of the hull, using her thrusters to properly climb up onto it. Finishing the front at 17:34, she headed to the side, then the back, ending at 18:20. Once back inside, she accessed the Energon vault and took stock before feeding Victory.
92 cubes left. Victory sufficed on ten per day. Power saving mode was beginning to look tempting now, if not for the risk that it would cease cloaking. And considering how often she had to transmit, the loss would be nothing short of catastrophic.
More Energon was needed, then. She’d have to ration herself more. She fit eleven cubes in her arms and brought them to Victory’s engine. As they were tossed in she held the one extra up.
“To another cycle, Victory.” It was brought to her dermas and promptly consumed.
Victory gave no response, as always. Invert stared at the empty cube in her servos for only a second before turning to take it back to storage.
At which point Victory’s system suddenly lit up. The screen turned on behind her, displaying a map of the planet and pinging a specific point somewhere in Asia. Invert looked back and raised her brows.
“SOS signal of Decepticon origin detected,” Victory stated in its monotone voice. “Displaying coordinates on screen. Incoming message. Playing now.”
Before Invert could even brace herself, an unholy buzzing suddenly sounded through the speakers, so shrill and constant that she collapsed to one knee, instinctively slamming her servos over her audials. Gritting her dentae she opened her hub and turned her audials all the way down, which made the buzzing just tolerable enough for her to reach Victory’s main computer and slam her fist on the OFF button.
The sound stopped so suddenly it left her processor ringing. She blinked several times, then knocked a fist against the side of her helm, shaking it a few times to properly orient herself.
Victory had gone silent again, but continued to display the ping and its coordinates. Invert looked up at them, transcribing them in her memory. What kind of distress signal had that been? Victory’s audio systems must be going, perhaps from too much time spent under the Earth’s water. An SOS signal usually captured the sound of blaster fire, of desperate voices crying for help, of bitter regret as whatever ‘con was on the other end laid aside his pride to admit he needed back-up.
That thought made her uneasy. Buzzing. Why have an SOS signal that was nothing but buzzing?
“Victory…” she paused, winced, and told herself that it wasn’t going to hurt as badly the second time. “Play the SOS signal again. At a decreased volume!”
It complied, the loud, painful buzzing sounding over the speakers once more. Invert increased her audials this time, even though the sound made her want to rip them out of her helm. Listening closely, she focused on differentiating corrupted audio from what might be beneath, be it voices, blaster fire, or the sound of fleeing pedesteps.
But the clip ended without any differentiating sounds. She found that odd, and replayed it in her processor again and again, trying to filter through it. Nothing. Just buzzing.
“Victory, run a diagnostic on your audio systems,” she ordered. The screen changed as Victory did just that, then returned several cycles later with a clear report: nothing was wrong.
The Energon she’d consumed sat uneasily in her tank. Invert grimaced. “Display the coordinates again,” she commanded, though they were already saved to her memory. Seeing them on the screen solidified her doubts.
Bali. There was a ship in Bali that she knew about, one that had harbored several unsavory occupants of the Decepticon cause. They, too, had disappeared after the attack on Autobot City.
Insecticons. Members of the cause notorious for how untrustworthy they were. She hadn’t been around for all the cases where they’d proven themselves to be nothing but hassles who only cared for endless consumption, but she’d read reports of actions and abilities. They were a self-contained group and stuck to their own–why would they call for help now, several orbital cycles after their last appearance in Autobot City?
Buzzing. Their entire signal had just been buzzing. She frowned, thinking it over. Their alt modes were based off of filthy organics, and as such, carried some characteristics of the ugly things. Was the buzzing a possible side effect of that? But they could speak, so why wouldn’t they?
Unless they weren’t able to, for some reason? During an SOS signal?
An SOS signal from a self-contained, proud group, perfectly capable of surviving on their own, that contained an off-putting buzz likely made to avoid speaking.
Just what were they facing out there that would cause such behavior?
“Victory, open a comm to the Insecticon ship,” she said, leaning over the control panel. “Insecticons, this is Invert, speaking to you from the Decepticon base The Victory. Come in Insecticons.”
Silence.
“Come in Insecticons.”
The ping repeated itself again and again. SOS. SOS. SOS.
No one was going to answer. Her frown deepened and she stepped away from the control panel. The only Decepticon here was her, the last on Earth, for all she knew. If they weren’t answering, they could be offline for all she knew. Or worse, it could be an Autobot trap, and she’d be playing right into their hands.
But if it wasn’t, and someone was there on the other side, waiting for help, desperately trying to reach any other Decepticon on this planet…
Even if they were gross Insecticons…
Rescue would fall to her. And though she would be taking a huge risk, with no guarantee for results, with the possibility of capture or permanent offlining…
It was, finally, something to do. Something beyond just maintaining Victory. Something that was a real mission. Something that could get her honor, respect, and maybe even a friend!
Her frown gradually gave way to a grin. Her first real mission. Her first real rescue. Her first chance to make a decision on her own, with no one ordering her what side to choose.
Oh, she was excited. It didn’t matter that her jet mode struggled to fly and that she’d need to pack away six cubes of additional Energon for the journey and her weapon–she was getting out, and she was going to rescue those Insecticons.
“Victory, open the weapon’s vault,” she eagerly commanded, taking off down the hall. “And prepare the hangar for take-off.”
—------------------
“I think you’ve had enough, bud.”
He raised tired optics from the glass currently gripped like a lifeline in his servos, the pink Energon within rippling from how his arm shook. Upon the bartender, a shorter mech with a white and yellow paint job, did his gaze land. Whatever was in it seemed enough to cause them to flinch, but they held their ground, clearly experienced in dealing with the far more unruly.
“Seriously. You’ve had five of those in the past Earth hour. How you’re not horrendously overfueled by now, I dunno, but you’re on your way to an early grave if you keep that up.” They gave him a hard frown, narrowing their optics behind their visor. “I’m not havin’ it on record that someone died at my bar because of my negligence.”
Luster didn’t answer them at first, letting his gaze drift back down to the Energon swirling in the glass he held. How it hadn’t cracked yet spoke to its quality, or perhaps how weak he’d become. Either worked.
The glass was half-drained. It hadn’t tasted like anything in particular. He never ordered for the flavor, since anything they could provide him would be irrelevant. His glossa didn’t taste like it once must have, even if the memories of what had been felt like they existed just beyond a fog barrier. And besides, no matter how much he drank, his tank never felt full.
Not anymore.
He pulled up a report on his tank capacity in his hub–93% capacity. Ignoring the bartender, he brought the glass to his derma and promptly chugged, feeling his frame protest against more. Another tank report came in–100%. If he consumed anymore, he’d have to purge.
There was still a drop at the bottom. He forced it down despite the warnings and slid the glass forward, looking just past the bartender, never at them.
“One for the road,” he rasped, venting harshly. “Please.”
“Absolutely not. If you’re not at capacity by this point your sensor’s faulty.” They took the glass with what almost seemed like disgust. “Aren’t you supposed to be here with your guardian, anyways? Where is he?”
Guardian. He coughed at the word, not because he wanted to, but because it reminded him of what his life had become. The motion jarred the Energon inside of him and he felt sick. Swallowing down the urge to purge, Luster moved to shaky pedes, gripping the bar for support.
“I don’t need him,” he grumbled. “I’m not a Sparkling. I’m not a protoform. I’m…I was someone, before, I don’t need a guardian.”
The bartender grimaced. “Luster…look, buddy. I didn’t know you before the war. I can’t say I’ve ever heard of your work. I know Magnus says you did somethin’ important before the retreat from Cybertron. But all that’s in the past now, aight? This is Earth, not Cybertron, and we all know whatever it is you were lookin’ for, you…”
They paused as his cold optics finally focused on them, reconsidering their words.
“...We all know you had some tragedy while you were out there. Real sad. No one here wouldn’t feel bad for you. But you can’t keep drinkin’ yourself to death over it. And I know you’re a grown ‘bot, but considerin’ the memory problems and all…well…course we all think you could use a guardian.”
A low rumble escaped from somewhere deep within him. Tank capacity at 99%. He needed more Energon.
“One more for the road,” he asked again. “Please. I’ll pay you double for it.”
Their frown tightened. “I’m calling Uptick.”
“No.” It came out harsher and faster than he intended, sounding like the warning growl of a tiger. His optics widened and he closed them, the gentle lighting of the bar suddenly too much. “Please. No. Don’t call him.”
They had their hand to their helm as they grimaced at him. Luster growled and turned away, almost falling over as he did. His balance equilibrator was off courtesy of overfueling, and focusing on what was normally a clear beeline for the door was difficult. One pede in front of the other. One pede in front of the other.
“Luster! You’re not goin’ out alone?” The bartender called after him. He ignored them, turning down his audials to focus on walking.
Spilling out of the bar, he stumbled for the nearest wall and rested a hand against it, leaning on it for dear life. His head was spinning. Standing was becoming increasingly difficult.
Tank capacity at 98%.
It wouldn’t stay there long. He needed to be back in his habsuit before that happened. Which way to his habsuit? He focused on his internal map, pulling it up in his hub and searching the coordinates. A small box lit up on Metroplex’s form, his tracking systems illustrating a path for him to take milliseconds later.
It was late. Autobots didn’t sleep, not really, but it was likely that, due to the time of the planet, he wouldn’t run into anyone. Luster vented again, feeling warm Energon slip out from between his lips as he did so, and began the journey back to the place he was temporarily calling ‘home’.
The path his systems had picked took him through some of Metroplex’s tighter corridors. On Cybertron, back before he had launched on the fateful mission that took his memory from him, he would have once felt nervous. Now he felt nothing, nothing besides urgency, urgency that did not originate from fear of being attacked or robbed.
No, it was urgency that sprouted from the deepest recesses of himself, telling him to hide for his self-preservation, for if he did not, the symptoms would soon manifest, and in his present state, he didn’t know if he could take them.
He made it about halfway before his proximity sensor went off. With his audials turned so low, he realized he hadn’t picked up the voice of whoever was calling to him, and they’d approached, their presence now close enough to seemingly reach out and touch him.
He turned his helm, uncaring, for whoever it was could not be worse than–
Him.
Uptick was following within grabbing distance of him, his dermas moving as he ranted on about something Luster was glad he couldn’t hear. He paused in his movement and Uptick did the same, though he didn’t once stop talking. Of course he didn’t.
Slowly, Luster turned his audials back on, just enough to make out the slew of Uptick’s commentary like the gentle, cooing sound of a cyber pigeon.
“--and furthermore you are in direct violation of your curfew, which states you aren’t to be out beyond the Earth hour of 21:00; it is presently 01:20 and here you are wandering the passages of Metroplex like a lost turbofox!” He put both hands on his hips, glaring Luster down. “This is your second warning. You know what happens if I have to issue a third.”
He shuttered his optics and stared blankly just beyond Uptick. “You lock me up in the clinic until I’m completely fixed or I don’t function anymore?”
“What?” He sounded incredulous. “No! I’m not here to–do you consider this some kind of torture? Luster, I’m trying to help you!”
“Then can you leave me alone?” He grumbled, turning away and continuing on his predetermined path. “I’ll be fine…I just need to go back…”
Back to where? The habsuit? The ship? The planet of fog in his memories? Back, back. Always back.
“You need to stop drinking,” Uptick scolded, grabbing his shoulder and bringing him to a halt. “And stop these late night wanderings. Everyone’s concerned for you because of them.”
He let his shoulders slump.
“That’s a lie and you know it. The only ones who still care about me are the medics who want to poke my processor. Now can I please go back home?”
The buzz was starting to fade. He didn’t get that nice warmth from Energon overfueling for long anymore. Balance was restoring. And worst of all, the reports were coming in.
Tank capacity at 95%. Fuel proficiency at 20%. Uptake at %$^&&*^# levels. Seek alternate methods of refueling.
Uptick let out a long sigh. “Let me walk you back. There’s no point in you getting lost and scaring others again.”
He didn’t fight the offer. There was no point in it. Once Uptick was convinced of doing something, he wouldn’t stop until it was done–especially if that task regarded protecting someone else.
So he trudged along, the ‘bot slated as his “guardian” trailing just behind him. “Guardian”. “Caretaker” was more like it. Uptick followed him everywhere, kept an eye on how much Energon he was consuming, tracked his recharge cycles, kept a close eye on just what activities he engaged with on a daily basis, and probably had a tracker installed beneath his aft to keep him from ever having an ounce of privacy.
Of course he did, though, after that night with the other ‘bots. He knew what he had been doing and why he had been doing it. He just didn’t know why he’d stopped.
The Autobots he’d frightened were significantly less green than he was. That wouldn’t keep them safe. They’d returned to their habsuit to begin a cycle of “enjoying one another’s company”. That was why he’d picked them. Two for one. It would have made the whole situation easier on them all.
Except it hadn’t been easier on anyone, especially him. They’d both become creeped out when, upon discovering him in their personal quarters, staring at their recharge slabs with optics more devoid than a moon, he’d purged his dinner and collapsed, whining like a sick turbofox.
That was when Uptick had been assigned as his caretaker. There wasn’t anything wrong with Uptick, by any means, and he didn’t hate him. He was, like all Enforcers, large and imposing, and tended to play by the rules too much. His paint was cheerful colors of blue, green, and white, meant to match with the new planet he was eager to call home. And his personality was surprisingly forgiving–for being the sucker stuck with the mental patient, he had quite a tolerance for nonsense.
No, Luster despised Uptick’s company for an entire other reason. One that didn’t have to do with how closely he watched him, how constantly he reminded him to attend his appointments, or how constantly he changed his curfews and rules.
It had to do with his sparkbeat. With how close he insisted on staying, Luster could hear the damnable thing’s constant pulsing despite the layers of glass and metal and wires separating them. It was loud and full of vibrant life.
He could feel the solvent building in his mouth.
Tank capacity at 93%.
—-------------------------------
The habsuit allotted to him was at the very end of Metroplex’s furthest row. It was close to the wall, away from any streets or alleys. The original request put in regarding a space for him had placed him near the clinic, where other Cybertronians would be passing by. His vehement rejection of the idea had only been approved after the arguing had made him purge.
Uptick brought him right to the sliding door, inputting the code to open it on its keypad. The metal let out a quiet shff as it slid open, revealing the small space within. He turned, giving Luster a look.
“Your visit tomorrow is at 09:20, Earth hours. I’ve already sent you the data package. You seem to have ignored the first four.” There was a hint of annoyance in his voice as he raised a servo to his helm. “I’ll send you another. Be there on time, please, so I don’t have to come here and convince you, alright?”
“Convince”. Luster almost scoffed at the word. The heaviness that came with overfueling had left him by now. With its cloud gone, he found himself choking on bitterness again.
Instead, he vented, giving a tiny nod.
“Alright.” Stepping past Uptick, he paused in the threshold of his habsuit when a hand suddenly landed back on his shoulder.
“Luster. You know these visits are for your health, right? No one here wants to hurt you. We don’t see you as a processor to be poked.”
“I know.” He didn’t turn around. The lights in his habsuit, motion activated, had turned on, illuminating the sparse few belongings within it.
“I mean it.” His grip tightened ever so slightly, then released. “We want to help you. All of us.”
“I know,” he repeated. “Now please leave me alone.”
Uptick said nothing as the door slid closed, sealing him, and the outside world, away. Luster stepped fully into his habsuit and paused, gaze fixed on the berth.
It was a recharge slab, standard issue. They’d tried to pull a better one for him due to his circumstances–the medic’s had posited that he may have recharging terrors. They’d been right, of course, but he knew it wasn’t the fault of the slab, so he’d let it lie. They didn’t need to know about the terrors that plagued him, for they were meaningless, and besides, if they knew, they’d want to keep a closer eye on him.
Who cared about terrors that only consisted of strange humming noises, anyways?
Besides, a closer eye was the exact opposite of what he needed on him. If they watched him more closely, they’d take him away from the bar. They’d take him away from his quiet habsuit. They’d take him away from his place at the edge of their world and draw him right into the middle.
And if they did that, he had no idea how long he could ensure their safety.
He stepped over to the slab, observing his reflection in it. They’d taken away the mirror after he’d shown distress staring into it. Something about his frame just didn’t feel right, and the more he looked at it, the more out of place he felt.
His paint was blue, a gaudy blue, one with a sheen to it that made him literally shine. One of the medics had stated his color was particularly reminiscent of a bird known as the “peacock” on earth. He’d never met the thing, but from the way they’d snickered, he assumed it was excessive.
On his chassis were diamonds, which, according to the doctors, had been placed there, willingly, by him. He couldn’t imagine why he would have ever reasoned to do such a thing. The stones weakened the integrity of his armor, and furthermore, they drew attention. Cut into varying shapes, they were arranged into delicate patterns that continued on his faceplate, where several more had been embedded just below his optics. Had been. When they found him, all that were left were the indentations of what had been. They now felt like ugly scars.
The gemstones were gaudy enough, but worse, in his opinion, were his drills. Their blades rested comfortably on his arms, with the largest sitting on his back as a heavy extension. His treads were on his legs, which, combined with the weight of the drill, made even lifting the damnable things a chore. According to the medics he hadn’t even been a miner back in the day, but a scientist of sorts, so why he was so equipped for drilling, he couldn’t even say.
All of this shaped up to make his frame bulky and uncomfortable. His steps were heavy. His pieces tended to bump into things. And his excessive decorations drew gazes and snickers alike from other mechs.
He hated the face that looked back at him. The optics were green, a gaudy green, because apparently, he’d once been obsessed with fashion, and made himself a different pair of colored optics for every day of the week. The others were lost, but the green he’d been wearing when he disappeared weren’t.
His faceplate was a pale gray, like most mechs tended to be. Pale, with those intricate, delicate etchings, designed to make him look ‘beautiful’. His helm had a sharp point in the middle, reaching about halfway down, and of course, in the middle of it was another gemstone. This one, however, was cracked.
A cracked gemstone accompanied by diamond shaped holes that had once held something supposedly precious. That was all he saw when he looked at himself.
He tore his optics away from the visage and sat on the berth, keeping his pedes on the floor as he turned to look at his habsuit. It had a desk, a window, a few datapads, and a small storage shelf. That was all.
They’d offered to bring him some of his surviving “collection”, whatever that meant. He’d declined.
The ceiling lights dimmed as he tried to lay down on his back, found it impossible, and instead did so on his side. He’d never get used to the damnable drill on his back, he just knew it. It wasn’t supposed to be there. It hadn’t been there before. Why did he have a drill on his back? He couldn’t ever remember a time where he did.
But that was the problem with remembering. He couldn’t remember much of anything.
It had been only three Earth “months” (solar cycles?) ago that he had landed on the planet, in an unmarked spaceship that had been dated back to the middle of the war. The bots who had discovered him found his frame locked in a stasis pod, almost offline from how little power he’d had left. Taking him back to Autobot city, an emergency transfer of Energon and a strong shock to his processor had brought him back online.
And that was when the trouble had begun. He’d awoken in a room he didn’t recognize, in a time he didn’t know, in a place he’d never been before. He still remembered coming online. For so long it had been just darkness, darkness and the very hum of the universe, the electrical pulses that dictated the existence of life, making up the entirety of his world. When he’d come online, that hum had ebbed, becoming less than background noise.
It had felt like being cut off from a lifeline. His optics had onlined, and he had been greeted with the sight of one of the Autobot medics, First Aid. There was celebration to be had as he had groaned and tried to sit up, confused, delirious, and wondering just how he’d gotten to this strange place. They’d insisted he stay down until his energon reserves were replenished.
But even when his tank hit its safe capacity, a feeling that should have left him satiated and energized, he hadn’t had the strength to properly move. He’d known in that very instant, as the question arose as to why, that something was wrong with him.
Another electrical shock had returned the ability to properly move to him. They released him from the medical bay after he’d demonstrated he could walk–right into the hands of their Enforcers. For according to their records, he was not to be alone, and the question of just what had happened on his mission was hanging heavier than a spaceship in orbit.
The issue of his memory had arisen almost immediately. They’d asked him his name. They’d asked him why he had been alone. They’d asked him what had happened.
He couldn’t remember any of it.
“His processor seems to have been damaged, sir.” He remembered one of them saying, looking over the scan that had been provided from the medical bay. “They’ve found evidence that a code was written to delete some memories, but even more than that…” The datapad had been handed over, and the interrogator sucked in air through his denta. “How is he even still functional, with scrambling that bad?”
It looked like his processor had been ripped out, smashed, and placed back into his helm. He had no recollection of any of it.
“Do you remember why you left?”
“Do you remember the name of your ship?”
“Do you remember the research you’d been engaging with when you’d decided to leave?”
“Do you remember what you found?”
“Do you remember Solace?”
“Do you remember what happened to him?”
“What happened to Solace?”
Who’s Solace?
The interview had ended shortly after.
He vented, watching the lights in the ceiling turn down. Uptick’s data package pushed at the edge of his internal hub. He accepted it because he had no other choice.
Solace. The name haunted him like a specter. Solace. Who was Solace? Solace had been someone he’d been very close with, apparently. Solace had been someone so important to him that he’d left Cybertron with him, in search of something mysterious to help the Autobot war effort. They’d been joined at the hip all their lives, apparently,
And he couldn’t remember a single thing about the mech. But why?
He shuttered his optics and tried to think back to the day he’d left Cybertron. It had been sometime in the middle of the war, apparently. He’d made some big decision and gotten a ship somehow. He was going to prove something, or save them all, or change the tide of the war. Something heroic, or whatever. They’d said he had once been outgoing.
He tried to picture himself standing on Cybertron (did he even remember Cybertron?), chassis puffed out, engine revving, the diamonds on his faceplate and chest glittering. A huge smile was on his face. He stood before the ship he’d arrived on, except instead of its decrepit state, it was a fully functioning spaceship, fresh off the factory line, without a single chip on the paint.
Before him was a crowd of Autobots. They were cheering his name. Optimus Prime himself was there to see him off.
He looks them over and grins widely, holding his arms out. Yes, he was going to save them all. He was going to travel far away, find something, and help end the war. He would be so full of hope, nothing could dampen his spirits.
And there, beside him, would be Solace. Solace, his best friend, his one in a billion, his greatest ally.
But when he looks beside him, there is no Solace.
There was only fog, and blank space, and when he looked back, the planet of Cybertron was empty, a barren wasteland of gray. The sky was dark velvet blue. Stars glittered like diamonds overhead.
There were stars in his chassis. He blinked once, twice. The planet was empty, and he was full of stars, and he was alone.
And here, alone, in the emptiness of space, he floated, watching all of existence fall away and turn into the hum of electromagnetic pulses indicating life. Life that he could not see or touch. Life he could only listen to as he lay dreaming, drifting through the universe alone.
In his cradle of stars, dead $^%#%&*^&8 waits dreaming.
Not alone, really. He had not been alone while he was dreaming. He had heard something else in the hum.
He replayed the sound again, the hum he was so familiar with. It was millions of years worth of noise, stored within his processor because he had nothing else to comprehend for all of it. 217 gigabytes of nothing but humming. His processor ran through all of it in mere minutes, then ran through it again.
There was something beneath all of the noise, something explicitly subtle. He opened his internal hub and pulled up a spectrograph. The noise was replayed again.
The waves showed up as nothing in particular for a long time. Then, slowly, they began to form a curve. One by one, each contributed a single line, through millions of years, until finally, he reached himself now, still intuned, just barely, to the electromagnetic pulses of life.
The image looking back at him was in the shape of a crescent. It was the very shape which he saw in his charge terrors, the one which, ever present, hung in the background, watching him like a cybercat would a mouse.
His spark felt cold. He closed the spectrograph and opened his optics, staring at the gentle light of Earth’s moon shining in through the window. His internal clock beeped a warning to him–five hours until he was designated to be at the clinic. A pop-up recommending he enter recharge appeared. He moved to close it.
Tank capacity at 68%. Fuel uptake at &%#$^*(&%$$%&&%$%^^^&* Seek alternate fuel source. Seek alternate fuel source. Seek alternate fuel source.
Dozens more appeared at the death of the one. He pushed the notifications away.
Seek alternate fuel source.
They came back, one after the other. His frame felt like it had been starved of Energon for years.
Seek alternate fuel source.
He forced his optics to shutter, letting the notifications drown out the fear he felt.
Seek alternate fuel source.
It was going to be a long recharge.

jessica jones rewatch review
so, ive just finished rewatching jessica jones because my disney+ access has ended. this will contain spoilers for the entire show.
disclaimer: i last watched it a few years ago with my mom and loved it back then, and my memory of it post season 1 was kind of blurry except for some central plot elements, and that i really disliked hogarth and trish towards the end.
so. season 1 was the best in terms of overall plot, character development, vibe, and consistency in my opinion. the best story and definitley also the best villain, kilgrave fucking slaps as a bad guy.
jessica in general is an awesome character, and has never really left my top three. i love her development, her personality, and her writing most of the time. she tries to live her life and take care of herself, but also helps the little guy when its not a wasted effort, and when she makes mistakes and ends up hurting people the reason is human error, not maliciousness or disinterest in other people, and she generally takes responsibility for her actions.
that said, sometimes her writing is lazy or just bad in order for the plot to happen, but unfortunately thats always a problem that exists.
after that, i have some thoughts. in general, i dont really see the narrative point of many of the side stories in the last two seasons. they only barely had anything to do with the main story (especially hogarths arcs), so that was kind of just exhausting to watch, because i genuinely dislike hogarth and, as i said, there kind of was no point to her scenes most of the time for the main narrative, which didnt make it better. the same is true for the sheer amount of sex scenes. in general i dont have a problem with those, but here they were just redundant in terms of plot most of the time, there were way too many of them especially with that in mind, and because of that there was no value added to the show by them. it felt more like filler, or trying to achieve the rating of the show.
what annoyed me the most was how almost every single main character on the show, with the exception of jessica, became so goddamn unlikeable. the side characters were mostly fine (costa, griffin, oscar, etc.), but trish, hogarth, and malcolm were hard to tolerate later on. thats partially due to the genre of the show and what themes are explored there, but its difficult to sympathize with the characters enough to keep watching for 13 episodes per season, when all they do is manipulate and screw each other over constantly, with almost no redeeming qualities or real consequences for their actions, and im not sure whether id call that a good writing decision. that whole situation is a toxic mess and i really hope jessica found some better people after the show ended.
beyond that obviously the female characters were all deep and complicated people, which is one of my favourite things about this show, but i also really wish that some of them werent written as assholes past season 1.
so yeah, those are my thoughts. still one of my favourite shows of all time, but man do i wish the writing had been kinder in season 2 and 3. really hope jessica will be back in daredevil born again or a future show/movie.
Edit: also im mad that oscar and the potential of a genuinely positive relationship with a good person for jessica, that was built up the entire second season, was immediatley taken away at the start of the third season.

i have a few questions about your "parts", feel free not to answer if you do not want to, or skip questions!
how many are there? just a handful? any general answer or specific number is fine as an answer here
is this a conscious choice thing, or is this more involuntary? are you going "this part of me is named dave, this one is named alex, this one is named jake", or are they appearing with their own self identities?
do they take control of the body at all? are they more just thoughts or representations of ideas? do you "shift" to being them?
how long have you had these parts / used the identity compartmentalization?
do you consider yourself a separate part of this set (as in, you as "you" are a separate facet), or are they all just facets of you, as like... you're the collective whole? or are they entirely separate from 'you' but are still part of your brain so they're still 'you' in that sense?
again, you dont have to answer any of this, im just curious because i may experience something similar
1. There's three of us. Me (Kat, 26, she/her, the most emotional, anxious and lighthearted one.) Erin (29, she/her, originally a very scary delusion of control but now more of an inner big sister. Less emotional, more reserved, slightly more bitter. Basically went from internal tormenter to what we jokingly call my "guardian demon.") Doktor (45, he/him, partially identifies as a psychiatrist without a license but absolutely shouldn't actually be regarded as such. He is rarely present at the moment.)
2. It is a genuine experience that we have consciously chosen to embrace when we discovered that it could be done in a way which isn't dangerous. But since there are no actual dissociative barriers between us, we're never actually alone in there and we can always communicate and sense each other.
3. We switch between being in charge of the body and "on the surface", but it's more of a cooperative thing than a "taking control" thing. And we can always communicate internally in thoughts, feelings and visuals.
4. Erin has been present in some capacity since 2014 but didn't become fully defined until years later, and started as a delusion of control. So the presence of these aspects do originate from my schizophrenia in a roundabout way. Nobody knows why Doktor occurred about a year ago though.
5. We are parts of a whole and different aspects of the same brain, but distinct enough that it can make sense to differentiate.

Okay idea, TMNT2012 x Sweet tooth
Mikey (10) as Gus
Casey (18) as Jep
Karai (20) as Bear
Shini (20) as Tiger
Donnie (18) as Aditya Singh
April (20) as Rani Singh
(theyre more like found family not romantic partners tho)
Shredder/ Oroku Saki (old as dirt) as Douglas Abott
Leo (16) as Wendy
Raph (13) as Tommy (could change)
Jennika (adult idk what age // yeah i know shes not a part of 2012 but shjh) as Aimee Eden
Splinter (deceased lmfao) as Pubba (Richard Fox)
Tan Shen as Birdie
and thats as far as ive gotten
Few things i have changed, Both Hamato Yoshi and Tan Shen were scientists who worked together and eventually fell in love and started a family their oldest Miwa, second oldest Donatello, Middle child Leonardo, second youngest Raphael and youngest Michelangelo. Yoshi had always known Martial Arts and taught his children when they were old enough to learn. Yoshi and Shen being home mutagen that is highly dangerous bc they dont know shit abt it yet. Donnie having a love for science and wanting to impress his mom takes it upon himself to go and investigate it which prompts his siblings to want to check it out too. Raph having an obsession with turtles brings his pet to come watch and Mikey crawls in (hes around 1-2 ish at the time). The mutagen spills mutating all the brothers but in different ways: Donnie only gets a turtle shell with all his other features being relatively human like, Raph gets mutated into a half turtle half human hybrid (like regular 2012 raph), Leo has turtle like limbs with the rest of his torso and head being human like, and mikey gets mutated into a half human half turtle hybrid like raph since he was exposed to it super young. Miwa finds them and calls for her parents who at first freak out and then try to find the cause of the mutation to turn their children back. (I havent fleshed out what the virus would be but lets just say the kraang had something to do with it) Then the government starts freaking out about the virus which causes chaos and once they find the mutated brothers they arrest tan shen and Don, Raph, and Leo leaving Miwa alone because shes human. Yoshi is in his lab monitoring Mikey because hes still a baby and just got mutated. Once he catches wind of the arrests he flees into the woods with mikey thinking that Miwa is safe. She wasnt and she and donnie were separated from their mother, raph and leo (who escaped). Oroku Saki being the person people go to for answers sees the potential in Donnies smarts and Miwas skills and decides to keep Donnie alive because of it having his partial mutation be a manipulation point for him and giving him to a wealthy and smart family where he can continue to advance in his studies (the o’neils) while oroku trains Miwa. After a few years of training under oroku miwa and her girlfriend Harmony escape and decided to form their own pack of children who lost their parents the foot clan and train them in martial arts they were taught. Both change their names Miwa becomes Karai and Harmony becomes Shinigami
During the shake down Casey Jones’ younger sister was born her being a hybrid (plot hole i will patch up later) which causes him to freak out
Back with Mikey and Yoshi, Yoshi changes his name to splinter as to not associate himself with his scientific discovery gone wrong and trains mikey for 10 years of his life also telling him stories of how life was and his family before all this happened until Casey finds Mikey and Splinter (dead), Mikey who has grown up with the sense that there was more to the world than what splinter told him wants to go and see for himself and find his family. Casey having a soft spot for hybrids agrees and together they travel
thats as much as im going to write bc its two am and i have school in four hours

k my beloved 🥺❤️ you know im only good for piarles BUT for a little holiday hc™ to make you smile: i think pear and sharl would elope during the christmas/holiday season 🫶 although it's partially (see: mostly) because they're both kind of a mess when it comes to christmas (terrible at gift giving ideas even though the end result is always good, constantly clashing w their interior decoration ideas, neither can cook, etc etc) so it gives them one (1) year of reprieve before having to return to real life. they compromise on location: charles wins in that they tie the knot in monza, pierre wins in that they exchange vows in a teeny tiny church on the outskirts of town, and no one is there but them. (they're gonna hear it from pascale and pascale later but it's fine, they'll do something big and gaudy eventually) <33 they exchange rings the day before christmas eve and charles insists on spending their first real married day™ walking around in ugly sweaters ("i can't believe i agreed to this." - pierre "you're the one who married me 🥰" - charles) and then stay up all night until christmas day dawns. and pierre says something devastatingly catholic but still so romantic as day breaks on their little hotel room sanctuary, and charles tucks their ring-clad fingers together (ALL the rings. it's kind of a wild image) and kisses pierre's knuckles and just crushes the breath right out of him. the little fake tree they stole from the hotel lobby the day they arrived catches the light perfectly. they're husbands now. on the holiest day of the year.
of course, it works out horribly in the long run bc anniversary + christmas is HELL on gifting ideas, especially bc they're both a lil stupid, but it's ok because they're corny and would be all over that shit anyway.
(ily bestie 🥺❤️🫶💖)
"pierre says something devastatingly catholic but still so romantic" you GET IT. you get it.
In a teeny church on the outskirts of monza... you can see breath between them when they're laughing... and you KNOW they get back for new years and the Pascales can tell immediately what's happened.
oh this made me smile!!! thank you phoebe 🥰

hey since you gave me a bunch of questions im gonna give YOU a bunch of them so how about 1, 6, 7, 20, 27, 39, 46 >:)
Damn, Lee, making me face the consequences of my actions. Greetings hello hi by the way :D
1) What was your first exposure to Danganronpa?
There's a few different answers to this depending on the level of awareness I had on what DR was. In like 2014-ish I had a friend cosplay as Monokuma, but had literally no idea what DR was at that point despite them enthusiastically recommending it to me. A few years later, another friend cosplayed as Chiaki, equally clueless then. It wasn't until like lockdown that I saw a play through of DR1 come up in my recommended on YouTube and I was just like "I vibe with detective games right now, sure" and then I experienced The Horrors (cautiously affectionate). Though I did vaguely recall Hifumi's death when I saw it for the first time, definitely hadn't seen the whole game before.
6) Do you have a fan character? Tell us about them!
I somehow don't have a DR fan character yet! Mainly because my brain took a different route and just started throwing my own characters into a slightly modified DR-like scenario as a game design challenge for myself. More focused on changing parts of the killing game formula and stuff. :p
7) You get the chance to reassign five characters new talents. Who do you choose, and which new talents do they get?
Gonna do this with the angle of characters keeping their underlying personality, and force myself to choose at least one per game. Leon is now the Ultimate Stage Actor, and yes he still wants to be a rock star - dude never learns his lines, just improvs flawlessly. Taka is now the Ultimate Lawyer, and my boy does NOT cope with the changed rules of killing game trial mayhem, repeatedly explaining that you can't just do the death penalty like that and Monokuma telling him to stop being a spoilsport. Hiyoko is now the Ultimate Opera Singer, partially because it makes it ten times funnier that she likes Ibuki's screamo, and because I find it very funny the idea of her absolutely dragging someone through the mud with words while singing Like That. Gundham Tanaka is now the Ultimate Janitor. No further comment, imagine what you will. Finally, I'm gonna say that Shuichi is now the Ultimate Marksman. He retains a literal eye for detail, the insecurity from rooty-tooty-thing-go-shooty thing going wrong, and a better background for the trial text going as absolutely buckwild as it does while the player still handles it, as well as better meta for not participating in the fundamental trial stuff near the end. You're asking the Ultimate Marksman to not take any shot.
Not all of those are amazing choices but it is 6am and I'm writing this because I can't sleep lmao
20) What is your favorite aspect of Danganronpa?
For as flawed as they are, the characters are what I latched on to and made me keep playing. Don't have much more to say without going on essay-length rants about individual character analyses right now though. But the characters are definitely a big draw.
27) You’re placed in a Killing Game as yourself (who you are now, no perks). How far do you believe you’d get?
Bestie, I am fucked. I am exceedingly killable and the embodiment of the Barely Hanging In There Star. I'd be paranoid, self-isolate as much as possible, and that would give anyone that figures out where I go an easy place to kill me with no witnesses. If I don't die first, I'm either a dishonourable second, or the least memorable of the two chapter three victims (because I'm assuming the others are still Ultimates, so I'm literally Just Some Guy) that the writers just get rid of because I outlived whatever subplot significance I had.
39) Which character do you feel deserves more love?
This is a hard one to answer simply from the fact I'm very much in my own bubble and don't really know the fandom's most beloved blorbos. Gonna do a few different ones for different interpretations of the question. Korekiyo was done dirty by the writing and could've been an interesting character but instead just feels like a waste of a good motive, so he deserved more love by the DR writers. Leon seems very ignored because first killer, obvious killer once the investigation started and his literal name was at the scene, and relatively shallow what we got in just the original game. So he could probably do with more attention to expand on his character. And I just don't want the TERFs to have Tenko, so I'm gonna say Tenko. Tenko would aggressively support trans rights, you can't change my mind. Deserves more love from non-TERFs.
46) What are some of your pregame headcanons?
I'm going to assume this is mainly about the V3 crew and answer based on that. And because I'm not creative, one pre-game headcanon per character.
Rantaro was a hell of a homebody, but got very good at cooking, and enjoyed trying to create foods from different cultures as accurately as possible. Danganronpa had a hell of a time getting ahold of him for the 52nd game.
Kaede was actually incredibly good at maths. Never saw herself as the creative type because of it.
Ryoma was actually a relatively happy-go-lucky guy, before the Character Writing made him depressed. He was a very good singer, too.
Kirumi was one of the popular kids, but like... the Secondary Character of the main popular kids friends group. She let you copy off her homework because she was equally as confident when she was completely wrong as when she was right.
Angie regularly ran DnD campaigns for a small group of people. She was the glue holding the friend group together, and the one who stopped them drifting apart.
Tenko was studying psychology in her free time in a desperate attempt to try and find a way to outwit her ADHD. Mainly she just ended up going down Wikipedia rabbit holes. Very good on the clarinet.
Korekiyo was just a normal guy. Didn't have a sister. Healthy relationship with his existing family. He had a pet dog that he hung out with a lot after school. He never brushed his hair.
Miu was actually a completely average student, the kind of person you'd never happen to really meet unless someone introduced you. But by God she was passionate about writing. Not that she ever told anyone.
Gonta was very much a gym bro. Neglected a lot of his studies to get back on the grind, but was still quite naturally smart. He paid no mind to people wondering how a teenager like him was jacked as fuck.
Kokichi was very much your archetypical emo kid. Got very good at pretending everything was fine for the sake of not getting bothered by people, and tried to blend into the background. He wanted to hack the school website for fun but couldn't be bothered to figure it out.
Kaito was the guy to go to if you needed to pretend you had a boyfriend for an event. He'd do it for a day's lunch money. Solid C+ student in everything but art, where he was a B+ student.
Keebo, I have always imagined as a regular guy who was augmented into a cyborg masquerading as a robot. Aka, not actually even a robot, but Danganronpa fucked him up big time for their purposes. He was a very sporty kid, but didn't like people drawing attention to it. He just had a lot of energy.
Tsumugi... I find it hard to do a headcanon for her because I can't even agree with myself whether she's actually a teenager or an adult cosplaying as one. But she had a small close knit group of friends that she'd spend at least one weekend a month with.
Maki was really looking forward to studying literature in her higher education. But then someone made her apply to Danganronpa on a dare, and she did it to shut them up, intentionally making herself sound as boring as possible to reduce the chance she got picked. Unfortunately, Team Danganronpa took it as a challenge.
Himiko was the one who you'd hear about doing some wild shit, but then you'd meet her in person and the vibe can only be described as the gif of SpongeBob sitting in a coffee shop looking sad. You could never be sure if the things you heard were rumours or true.
Shuichi was the disruptive one with anger issues. He'd aggressively disagree with the teacher's opinion just because he could and he was bored. The only exception was in Geography. It was the one subject that for some reason calmed him down.
Hope those answers were alright! I'd link to the ask game but I'm on mobile and can't be bothered right now, might edit to add it later though lmao

Mnnngh art vent under the cut
I really miss when art was easy for me. It used to come so, so easy, even though I'd say my art wasn't as good as it is now. Like I'd def say I've improved, but its so much harder to get art out now than it used to be
I look back at the art I used to make and I seriously lament how easy it was. Even if it was just doodles, I could get so many out, I remember back in like 2019 i could often get at least one doodle out a day and it felt great. It was my outlet, my way I connected with others, the way I shared ideas and made stories, and now I feel that outlet has been practically severed and it really, really hurts
Artfight def hurts the worst. I was so excited for this year, so ready to reconnect with a lot of my friends and bond over silly AF attacks, and it was genuine! I didnt have any big plans this month other than just doing my job so I was so happy to do this. July last year was awful, I was in a horrifically abusive situation and that abuse reached its peak last July, I was in a bad bad place. But I've completely cut that abuser from my life and I'm in a much better space, so I really thought this July would be me turning things around
But as soon as I got a lot of attacks, I just- fucking shut down. I kept thinking on how much "make up revenges" I'd have to do and it got to the point where I'd get overwhelmed every time I picked up my tablet. What became "Hehe can't wait to make art for my friends!" Quickly spiralled into "Oh god I need to do so many revenges I cant keep up", and it just made me catatonic and I hate that. And the worst is that I know no one's exepcting me of anything, I dont have to revenge everyone, its all for fun- I know its just this expectation im putting on myself and im the only one disappointed in myself but I just cant stop how catatonic its left me and its really tough to deal with because ive only done 1 attack so far. Ive spent the entirety of July going "shit i need to work on attacks. Its ok ill do it later." And now its July 31 and ive only done one. I set a goal of doing at least ten. I thought ten wouldve been manageable, but I just cant do what I used to do and it really really hurts
And I keep being told that Im having a hard month. That works been stressful and working 40hr a week leaves me with significantly less free time than I had back in college, so of course i have less time/energy for art, but it still hurts because I dont. Feel like work has been that bad. Yeah its been bad but ive dealt with horrific stress before and ive handled it fine. I feel like if I go "its been a rough month" ill be saying that every month. And i dont want that. Im really healing and im getting in better places, I feel like still struggling this much doesnt feel "right". Hell my therapist just told me that i might be in remission or partial remission for my major depressive disorder. Like I have a professional telling me im getting better but I still struggle to do something that came so easily and it hurts really really badly.
Im gonna see what i can do for last minute attacks. Might not be great attacks, but i want to see if i can get something, anything out. It just hurts because i had so many ideas for my friends and I dont know what Ill be able to do for them and I feel horrible. I feel severed from them and from my main outlet of connecting with others.
And i know its just a sign of burnout or art block or mental illness or what the fuck ever. But I feel like ive been making too much progress in myental health to be struggling this hard. I love making art and i love artfight and sharing art with my friends but as soon as I try, I go completely catatonic and its really really hard because i used to be able to do this so easily and i want it to be easy again but I dont know what im doing wrong to still be struggling this hard

Happy Birthday, Mizuki Kawashima!!
I spent a good amount of time (several months) writing about how I came to became her Producer, and how it had caused irreparable damage to my tantou-related decisions.
Unfortunately, this is also the most I’ve ever written about a single character so... Enjoy.
“I choose who I produce.”
This has been a mantra that has been stuck in my head for a while ever since I’ve decided on a main tantou in Cinderella Girls. And that phrase popped up again when I decided on another CG tantou. For a long time since I got into the franchise in 2018, I didn’t have a no. 1 favorite idol in CG I was fully comfortable with, especially compared with how I found my main favorites in other branches.
I thought I could produce one type or be split between producing who I want… until I fell in love with a certain woman’s charm. This is a story of how I got to that point.
For a bit of background: I have been stuck in IM@S hell since 2018, as I started peeking into 765Pro and Cinderella Girls for a little bit but ended up focusing more on the latter’s shenanigans (and Million Live!, by extension) for a long while. I eventually started looking into more stuff outside of 765Pro in 2019 and gained some favorites from CG, SideM, and Shiny Colors by then. Entering early 2020, I had strong interest towards SideM and Million Live! so much that I focused heavily on these two branches for a good amount of time, but also got further into Shiny Colors and CG up to the point when I even tried all the active mobile games at the time. Alongside that, I started following Cinderella Girls more closely starting with getting into Deresute in April 2020, but I still looked at it from a mostly semi-casual perspective despite considering myself as a multi-branch producer. At some point I wondered if I would ever find a 20+ idol (outside of SideM) that I would gain strong interest in very strongly, in a similar way to what I felt about my main tantou (SideM’s Michio, in that case) by that point.
Here’s the first starting point: it was January 2021, I was peeking at parts of a conversation with some people on Discord. The guys were talking about CG at that time and one of the members posted a then-ongoing thread about her. I couldn’t fully remember what happened after but I looked into the thread and I just… understood. The more I read about her, the more she started to stand out among the idols I’ve been interested in so far.
Tumblr media
Messages sent before disaster.
It was later within that month when I decided to just… simply produce her.
Since that conversation, I had been casually producing her alongside the rest of my CG favorites. My tantou lineup kept fluctuating over that year until I eventually stuck with a tantou trio of my no. 1 favorite per attribute: Uzuki for Cute, Mizuki for Cool, and Takumi for Passion.
My memories from that era feel like a blur today, but I remembered listening to her second solo, “Dreaming of you” and it resonated with me quite a lot. A thing I noted to myself was that if a character’s solo gets me interested in an idol in IM@S, this is a warning sign. That had only happened once to me before with SideM’s Michio… and it had happened again there in CG, of all places.
Another point that happened was that I waited for her bridal SSR to come home partially because I wanted to have at least one SSR of my top five CG girls at the time, and I got her after two 10-pulls when her rerun banner finally dropped. It was the first SSR I animated via the Premium Cut Film and I would often see the pink petals flying with the wind and her lovely blue dress flowing in the awakened card illustration. I also vaguely remembered even looking into her Memorial Commus in Deresute at some point later on.
Tumblr media
My producing activities in CG were a more casual experience compared to how I treated my tantous in other branches, and I still couldn’t make up my mind on a true no. 1 favorite in CG by then.
Over a year passed by, and the day that could potentially ruin my life came: April 2, 2022, the first day of the CG 10th Anniversary tour's final leg. No one knew who was coming there when the cast list was a surprise until the day itself. I had the chance to watch the whole 4-hour long performance with some friends on another server and saw each voice actress of our favorite idols show up one by one. I watched Ayaka Ohashi (Uzuki) and Yuko Hara (Takumi) appearing excitedly during their respective first appearances.
Then she came on stage. “Orgel no Kobako” started playing. We had already seen the other performer (Chiyo Ousaki, Koume’s VA) earlier, but beside her was the woman behind Mizuki's voice: Nao Toyama.
Tumblr media
I was tagged in that server while the other members talked about her during the show. Funnily enough, I didn’t initially know how much of an impact that performance would leave on me, but I did see so much of that brilliance in her stage presence and vocals that I wrote this to the chat and onto Twitter: “I have simply passed away.”
Tumblr media
She may have only shown up on the first day but it didn’t matter too much. Both days of those performances went well and everything reaffirmed that I just grew to love the branch even more than before… especially Day 1’s performance.
As the following days passed, things began to sink in. I knew Mizuki had been peeking for a while – both as a character I didn’t look into at first and as a tantou early on – and Naobou’s performance was the final nail in the coffin. Looking back on the past few years up to that point, I just kept hearing people talk about Mizuki and the voice actress behind her in various places, but didn’t see people that truly consider her as a “tantou” among my circles. The days following that night had me constantly pondering why I was mesmerized by her in the first place, even up to the point where I jokingly said that I would be a Mizuki main temporarily due to the brain rot having a strong grip on me. By April 15, 2022, I finally found my no. 1 favorite CG idol and truly called myself a MizukiP.
Over the next several months, I thought of this phrase, “I choose who I produce,” when I reflected back on my tantou choices as I finally brought Kaede from just a regular favorite to a proper tantou. I chose who I produce not just because they appeal to me on the fly or serve, but because enough time was spent for them to grow on me as well, and over time they've left hints and signs that I think that some of them have grown on me over time. At that time, it applied to not just Kaede, but to all of my tantous as well… even Mizuki herself. There were some fleeting aspects and hints that I failed to mention – like how I started playing Deresute 1-2 months after her last event (Gaze and Gaze) happened, how the game’s 5th Anniversary (in which she was included in the lineup) was the first Deresute anniversary I partook in, and a few other things. I finally became a KaedeP and fully considered Tomoe as a fukutan – two idols associated with her that I’ve known since 2018 – partly because of her.
I often looked back at that live performance and thought a lot about not only finding a proper main tantou, but also how much it left an impact on me as a Producer and somehow finding a new favorite voice actress in the franchise (which is another story of its own). Of course, I did have my regrets over not starting things a little earlier, but I am just relieved that I now have a clearer direction in where I want to go with the game and this branch… and with her. More than ever before.
So yeah, I ended up loving and appreciating her more over the past several months up to the point where she could rival my other main tantou, Michio, in many ways. I started out not fully knowing who my true favorite in CG was but now my tantou lineup in this branch has never felt this comfy.
I did finally find my own Cinderella… and I understand, truly. Happy birthday, Mizuki.

in a flash of inspiration, a fun little idea came to me– A HSR Astral Express AU, featuring some Honkai 3rd characters!
Because im posting such a rough early sketch (doesnt even have faces drawn in yet) im not tagging it, plus its intended more for me to write down my thoughts to save for later
Tumblr media
but for anyone who actually manages to see this post and is genuinely curious, this is what i came up with so far:
The “protagonist” (if it were a literal 1-to-1 replacement with the canon AE crew) would be Entropy (aka Dreamseeker), the Honkai 3rd Part 2 protag; paired with her is her wife i mean, her “roommate” Senadina
I started with that, and then I tried to think of who the navigator would be. For that i came up with Vita- partially because im insanely biased towards her, but also partially cause i think she’d genuinely fit the role of navigator, lol
Then to fill in a couple more spots i came up with Griseo & Kosma, specifically a made-up teen Griseo between her canonical child & adult appearances along with a slightly older Kosma
With that cast we have someone from each of the three worlds of Sol that have (or had) civilization: Purusha (Venus), Earth, and Luoxing (Mars)
So I had an idea– what if the Astral Express crashed on Purusha (instead of canonically crashing on HSR Himeko’s world) and Vita was the one that fixed it up? Then she gathered the rest of the crew from Earth & Luoxing, and they set off to see the rest of the HSR setting!
Though since these characters in HI3rd canon are chronology separated by literally hundreds of millions of years, id have to squish the timeline and make the three planets all habitable at the same time, though in a silly fanmade AU like this, that sort of backstory isnt too important x-x
It’s also not a perfect 1-to-1 copy of the OG crew!
Vita replaces Himeko’s role as navigator but i headcanon this HSR!Vita as being a total menace like the Trailblazer. So just imagine our beloved raccoon Trailblazer as being in charge of the Astral Express, and that’s kinda what this Vita is like, lmao
Entropy takes Dan Heng’s role as archivist but not bodyguard, as Kosma is the bodyguard instead
Sena is fairly close to March 7th so thats no issue
And Griseo isnt really a direct replacement for Welt, though I like to imagine Entropy as filling the role of “responsible mom friend” that both Welt and Himeko fulfill in canon
I could still change anything about this, i.e. maybe Helia & Coralie would be a better fit than Griseo & Kosma
but for now thats what i came up with!
tho its mostly just an excuse for me to draw ship art of Entropy & Sena, lol

Strategies for Commercial Building Owners to Claim the 179D Deduction
Building owners can primarily claim tax credits for energy efficiency for installing qualified equipment in their facilities thanks to the 179D energy efficiency tax deduction for commercial buildings. If tenants pay construction costs, they can be qualified. The person in charge of the system's design may claim the 179D tax credit if the system or building is installed on land owned by the federal, state, or municipal governments.
Other non-tax-paying organizations, such as churches or non-governmental organizations, are not eligible for the 179D tax deduction unless they have an energy-as-a-service contract owned by a tax-paying business. Kindly refer to IRS Notice 2008-40 for further details. Since its implementation on January 1, 2006, the 179D tax deduction has been a permanent scheme implemented as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 and approved on December 27, 2020.
The following data is still relevant for properties operating on or before December 31, 2020. For properties taken into operation on or after January 1, 2021, updated data will be made available following the anticipated issuance of the IRS Notice.
Owners of new or existing buildings that install (1) interior lighting; (2) a building envelope; or (3) heating, cooling, ventilation, or hot water systems that lower the energy and power cost of the interior lighting, HVAC, and service hot water systems by 50% or more in comparison to a building meeting minimum requirements set by ASHRAE Standard 90.1 are eligible for a tax deduction, (up to $1.88 per square foot). Cost savings must be calculated using appropriate computer software.
The energy and power costs for properties put into operation on or before December 31, 2020, must be compared to the minimum criteria of ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2007. For projects put into service on or after January 1, 2021, the most recent Standard 90.1 confirmed must be used no later than two years before the start of the qualifying property's construction or the date the qualifying property's construction permit is granted. An anticipated IRS Notice and related modifications are awaited.
Building owners with individual lighting, building envelope, or heating and cooling systems that partially qualify by hitting specific target levels or using the temporary lighting regulation can also claim deductions, up to $0.63 per square foot. In accordance with IRS Notice 2012-26, properties that are put into operation on or before December 31, 2020, should select the relevant compliance pathway. When the anticipated IRS Notice is released, updates for properties put into service on or after January 1, 2021, will be made available.
Savings are defined as the difference between the energy and power costs of the combined energy used for the HVAC, hot water systems, and interior lighting when compared to a reference building that satisfies the ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2007 minimum requirements for properties put into service on or before December 31, 2020. Percentages of savings derived from IRS Notice 2012-26.
** Not to surpass the price of eligible real estate
The 179d tax deduction is calculated and prorated depending on the lighting power density (LPD) decrease. Please refer to IRS Notice 2006-52 for the meaning of the applicable percentage.   Buildings and Systems Put into Service on or before December 31, 2020.
Software Qualifications: The DOE has a well-established procedure for approving software used to model buildings and systems. The website enumerates compatible software for projects scheduled to be live by December 31, 2020, at the latest.
Updates will be provided upon the anticipated issuance of the IRS Notice for properties put into operation on or after January 1, 2021.
Qualifications for the Deduction:
To qualify for the 179D tax deduction, businesses must make energy-efficient renovations to their commercial facilities. Improvements to the building's energy-efficient components are among these modifications. Furthermore, in accordance with IRS criteria, a building must be able to lower its energy costs to a specific extent in order to be considered.
Previously, only government entities, including state, federal, and municipal buildings, public schools, and municipalities, were permitted to deduct taxes for the EECBP designer under the 179D tax Deduction. The recipients of this tax benefit have been expanded by the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) to include tax-exempt organizations like:
Private universities or colleges
Private hospitals
Places of worship
Museums
Organizations that support charities
Organizations recognized by the Internal Revenue Code as 501(c)(3)
Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) are businesses that own, manage, or finance income-producing real estate in various sectors.
Want to know your estimated benefit?
Request a free appointment with a specialist in tax matters at Capstan Tax for energy efficient tax credits. The experts will review your eligibility and possible benefit estimates and address any queries you may have. The specialists at Capstan prioritize the CPA-client relationship while providing the clients with the utmost attention and respect.

The 3 gay crises
Hello young gays, it's discovering you're gay month (fuck june man, it's September like that's when you go back to school/start school or uni for the first time and meet everyone else like you're telling me it's not more common to have the "wow this person is really cool...*really cool*...oH SHIT" moment in September than it is June? poppycock!
So here are the 3 gay crises that almost every gay will experience...this is a warning and a comfort. 1. Crush on straight friend (bisexuals crushing on opposite sex friend thats straight is not a crisis, you know what I mean) yep you will probably crush on a straight person and let it consume your life as you go "maybe they're gay...maybe?" but guess what 99% of the time happens? they're gay but just not into you and you don't find that out until months or years later. it'll hurt but it's a good lesson that not every gay person will be into you...im not still hurting...pfft
2. Hooking up with an ex. So gays like to stay friends with exes, it's a thing. 9/10 this leads to "oh we're just cuddling" to "oh no their lips are on mine and I AM FREAKING OUT but also enjoying it maybe they still love me omg i cant tell just keep kissing oh boy oh nononononono whats just happened" and you keep doing that until you're too shy to ask if you're just friends or not.
3. But what if im not into (insert gender/sex you're attracted to here)? Yes even though you've had the above experiences that literally onLY GAY PEOPLE WOULD HAVE you still doubt that you're attracted to them. What if it was a phase? Straight people definitely have same sex crushes that consume their lives, right? Experimenting is fine and confusing emotions is very common (im autistic i get the struggle) but I've never known anyone to have these 3 issues and then go "oh no im straight"
So what to do in these experiences? Probably panic and partially not realise you're in them. But one day, you'll look back and laugh at all of these with people you're comfortable with and love you for who you are. It aint the end of the world, it's barely even the start little amigos. Also depression is a bitch ass motherfucker so when that comes knocking, don't do anything you cant take back. What helped me is the mantra "im gonna die anyway whats the rush?" and now I'm engaged to the most wonderful beautiful person, in a weight/shape I could never have dreamed of being before and got an aWESOME job. It gets so much better, I'm begging you to realise this.

what do you think of reblogging versus just liking a post, does it matter? personally i find it annoying how much people talk about it. i don't think it's that much of a problem and ive been here a few years now
On the one hand as someone who writes and draws and then posts that stuff I do fully get it, it sucks to post something you worked on and get 1 reblog and 4 likes on it. especially when its like "oh the last silly thing i posted got 60 reblogs and 100 likes what happened?" is it time of day, did my quality of work go down, was it not funny enough, was it too personal, did i draw it poorly, etc etc. going back thru my last handful of art posts, it's like how do I figure out what gets people to see this let alone reblog it to show other people? and no matter how much you Know that notes and numbers don't add up to any greater meaning about the worth of what you do, it's also like "huh! i spent a lot of time and put heart into this and it got 0 notes… and then this doodle got 600+" it's like #THINK. as an aside, I KNOW for me it's partially because some of my fandoms are big right now and have a ton of people, (DE) and/or are universally well known and carry nostalgia weight to boot (portal) and others are very small and maybe the 12 people who reblogged that piece ARE the fandom (metro) so part of it FOR ME is metering my expectations for "the numbers" based on "how many people who DO see this will even know what it is?"
anyway so on one hand. i do understand it, and i do agree that reblogging is the lifeblood of this site and without it we're all just going to sit in silence and like posts from "funnytwittertweets" (which as another aside, i have blocked, and yet i constantly see their posts recommended to me, i can click to their blog and view it without issue, and even reblog their posts so what IS the truth on that tumblr? can we start a conspiracy theory about content farm bloggers?) yeah i DO think it's better to reblog things than to sit silently and stoically tapping the like button, and it is Frustrating to figure out sometimes Why some things can take off and get reblogged and others can't. for me.
ON THE OTHER HANDS! i also like things all the time that I may or may NOT reblog later, I use my likes as a reference for things. videos and audio posts i can't listen to or watch right now because I'm at work or otherwise in public and don't want to play sound. art that i want a closer look at first, things i want to reference or fact check first, or even just "huh im scrolling without glasses and cant really see it but i'll check this out tomorrow morning." OR most often, i'm on OP's blog and it's such a pain to reblog From their url.tumblr.com/post/12343245234523 page repeatedly, i'm just liking the posts so that i can go straight into likes later and reblog them easily from there. i have followers that do something similar (they'll like my post and then 2 weeks later it's on their blog because they queued it, I also used to use a queue and would queue things strictly from like likes because It's Easier on desktop.)
numbers also mean nothing and notes aren't real, and as a personal thing, i find "likes < reblogs and follows!" "do not like unless you also reblog!" banners and stuff to be like. annoyingly passive aggressive and i won't interact with art and stuff if that's on there -_- like cousin if i want to reblog it i'll do it, and it makes me feel like, obnoxiously guilty if i want to reblog but can't in that moment (due to can't see it/ need more time to look it over / prefer to reblog from my likes page) so i simply choose to Not engage. it's the mental illness sire.
um overall i think reblogging is better and it's important. i don't want tumblr to turn into 99 corporate accounts that post stolen content and we all hold up a thumbs up in silence. that would suck and can we talk about why tumblr still shows me stolentwittertweets posts on my "for you" page? can we talk about that now?

youre such a great writer! can u write something about being one of the top girl rockstars in the 70s/80s and having 'rivalry' with queen because you were both rising at the same time until you met the queen boys at a rockstar party and were introduced by michael jackson since he's one of ur bsfs and end up dating roger? im sorry if thats specific i just love ur works!!! thank you :DD
Tumblr media
This has to be the most interesting ask I've ever received, thank you. Apologies if you find any mistakes, it’s 1:13am and I’m tired.
- The rivalry between you and Queen is completely petty.
- I mean, yeah sure, you've knocked each other off the charts a couple times, so what? It's bound to happen some time.
- It was around the time when you had released a song you were really proud of, only for it to be knocked off and overshadowed by Bohemian Rhapsody.
- You were particularly sour about the situation in particular because you thought Bohemian Rhapsody was a better song, but you wouldn't dare admit that to anyone.
- Hell, you could barely admit it to yourself.
- Then, later on you'd managed to over shadow something of Queen's, gaining attention from the band.
- Lets start off with something, there were never any insults about talent, more so writing.
- Even then, remarks would always be somewhat subtle.
- "...But I could be doing worse, you know. I could be writing about...oh I don't know, car metaphors, cheese metaphors, stuff like that."
- But both you and Queen knew that the other had undeniable vocal talent, so neither of you even bothered to go in that direction.
- Sometime in early 1980, Michael had talked to you about how he'd met the band a few months prior.
- He partially just did this because he wanted to get a slight rise out of you, but at the same time he didn't quite understand your negative feelings towards the band because they were all very nice.
- You managed to brush it off pretty easily, though Michael was not satisfied.
- Later that year, a little before The Game was released, you and Michael had been invited to a party.
- During said Party, Michael left you.
- To do what? You had no idea, but he was gone.
- Of course, he was still at the party, he couldn't leave you since he was your ride.
- But God, did you wish he'd left when you caught sight of him in the distance subtly scanning the room for you while conversating with Freddie fucking Mercury.
- But by that time they were too close for you to do anything about it.
- "Y/N, I have someone for you to meet."
- Michael sat there with a shit eating grin on his face, his malicious intent not matching his sweet and innocent speaking voice whatsoever.
- When Freddie finally looked up to see you, you could somehow hear him over all the side conversations around the room as he said 'Oh, dear God,' under his breath.
- His tone of voice didn’t seem to hide any sort of intimidation, it was more of ‘oh I don’t want to talk to this person at all.’
- You smiled and shook his hand;
- "Pleasure to meet you, Mr. Mercury."
- That was possibly the most respect you had ever mustered up for someone you didn't really like.
- Even more surprise went through your body when he responded with his own polite greeting.
- "I was just talking to Freddie here about an album that he and his band have been working on. When did you say it should come out?" "June." "June. Y/N, do you wanna come with me to see one of their shows for the album?"
- He knew what he was doing.
- Your mouth opened to respond, but you found yourself both taken aback at how rehearsed the entire situation seemed, and also struggling to come up with an excuse to not see them live.
- "I, uh, I actually have some pretty important sessions coming up in June following into July, I doubt I'd have time."
- Freddie looked pretty amused.
- "What a shame, I'm sure the boys would love to see you there."
- Michael hummed in acknowledgment, trying not to laugh at Freddie’s little passive aggressive comment.
- You decided you would completely ignore his comment, and try and be nice.
- "Michael did tell me that your bassist showed him an impressive riff, would that be featured somewhere on this album?”
- Again, Freddie looked a bit amused.
- He was starting to wonder if you really didn't like him or if it was just something you kept up for people's entertainment.
- That thought didn’t linger though.
- The deeper the three of you got in conversation, the less tense it became.
- Somewhere along the line you and Freddie starting joking with each other, that's when Michael decided he was happy with what he had started.
- Then he remembered there were three other members of the band that he had yet to even see at the party.
- Just as that thought planted itself in his mind, the remaining three came from upstairs and began to make their way closer to where you, Michael, and Freddie now sat talking to each other.
- First one to catch sight of the three of you was Roger.
- He didn't process that you were the one talking to Freddie.
- "Hey, there's Freddie." "Oh good, I was worried, he's been gone for a while." "Is that Y/N L/N?"
- John pointed at you laughing with Freddie and Michael, Brian and Roger's mouths started to slightly hang open.
- "What the fuck." "This is literal treason,"
- They walked over to the three of you, then sat down on the coffee table in front of the couch you sat on.
- You were the first to notice.
- Your soul pretty much took a swift exit out of your body.
- You were not expecting to turn to see Roger Taylor giving you a death stare.
- Once Freddie noticed his bandmates sat in front of him, he simply greeted them as if he hadn't just been caught having a laugh with his presumed rival.
- "Wanna introduce us to your new friends?"
- There was a very unidentifiable look hidden in Brian's eyes, you'd thought that he would look a tad bit more disapproving of Freddie befriending you, but most of what you saw seemed to be intrigue.
- "Well you know this is Y/N L/N, she’s very funny. You already know Michael,”
- Freddie looked very happy with himself.
- Roger looked the most interested out of all of them, probably because he had the least distaste for you out of all of them.
- If anything he pretended to not like you.
- He had your records, he had one or two posters of you somewhere in his home, things like that.
- But he did his very best to not show his slight excitement that Freddie's resentment for you was coming to an end.
- Although you would still have to somehow get Brian to like you, he wasn't really a fan of the small comments you'd made in the past about his writing.
- "Hello, it's lovely to meet you three."
- You gave them the same smile and hand shake, you caught the slight hesitation in Brian's hand as he moved to shake your hand.
- You were grateful for John not being as petty as the rest of you, either that or he was just really good at pretending to like people.
- You started off with something simple.
- "I love your hair."
- Thank god Brian had nice hair, or else you would have had to visibly search his person for something to compliment him on.
- He gave a small smile, said thank you.
- Alright, tougher than you'd thought.
- Thank God Freddie and Michael started talking, or else you never would have gotten through the night.
- By the end of the night you were all friends? You think?
- It's hard to say when you all rivaled each other for so long.
- When you drove home later that night, Michael was like a mom after taking her child to get a flu shot or something.
- "That wasn't so bad, was it? I told you they were nice people," "Yeah Michael, they were lovely."
- You were half asleep by that time.
- You did end up going to see Queen live in July with Michael.
- The two of you had wonderful seats, backstage passes, everything.
- You enjoyed the show, when you got backstage the band looked pretty surprised to see the two of you.
- For all they knew, that entire night at the party could have been an act, but the fact you paid for a backstage pass?
- It definitely made them not doubt you as much as they originally had.
- You talked to Roger about how much you loved his background vocals, he was very flattered, you very much inflated his ego.
- You were one of his favorite vocalists, you did not need to be complimenting him as much as you were.
- You also went on about how good his drumming was, and how you felt drummers deserve more recognition.
- "It's like people think just because your're behind a drumset and they can't see you then you don't deserve as much recognition as the others,"
- He was smiling and nodding like no one had ever said this to him before.
- You were very much on his good side at this point.
- I mean, you pretty much started on his good side for the most part (other than some comments you'd made about his beloved car song in interviews), but by this time you were much farther along that good side than before.
- He started staring at you when you went on to talk to the other members, then got caught doing so by John."
- "It's rude to stare, Rog."
- Roger didn't even process the situation, and he wouldn't process it.
- Nope, instead John would be left to himself, continuing to watch with a small smile as Roger continued to look at you every now and then.
- Before you had to leave, Freddie told you that he would call you as soon as the tour was over if you wanted to record something together.
- You were up for the idea, you took the little slip of paper that he'd written the address on and then left the venue with Michael.
- Given a year, in September of 1981, near everything had changed.
- You and the band were very close friends, Roger had just asked you out on a date for what would only be the first of many.
- By the time Hot Space came out you and Roger were a fully fledged couple (which was also pretty good advertising since you collaborated with Queen on a song in Hot Space).
- Michael is very humble when it comes to questions about his involvement with you and Queen.
- "Well we were at a party and I thought it would be fun to introduce them. If I'm being honest, I didn't really expect it to turn out so successful." "Did you have any idea that Roger and Y/N would ever end up together?" "No, not really. Not until she started talking about him more than usual, and they like to stare at each other. But other than that, I was clueless. But they are a very adorable couple. I'm glad I was able to introduce them."
- The interviews that you and Queen have together are pretty entertaining.
- "Well didn't you all supposedly hate each other about two years ago?" "Well yes darling, but that was two years ago." "I never hated Y/N." "You didn't seem to fond of her when she made fun of your car song," "I'll have you know John, that I have changed my mind completely and that car song is held very close to my heart." "You might want to be careful then, you might go into cardiac arrest." “See, they’re so cheesy. We’ve got to put up with this nearly 24/7.”
