Tell me about a story that made you happy recently!

oh Gia this is such a lovely ask!!!! it’s hard to remember like, an exact story that sticks out to me recently, so here is a conglomeration of life vignettes as of late:

my dad and I are planning to get matching tattoos of a desert rain frog wearing a cowboy hat when I go home for spring break, because when I was 8 or 9 I discovered they were ball-shaped and had huge eyes and made a “meep” sound and obviously I was obsessed with them, so my dad and I meeped at each other in greeting for approximately a decade (I suppose this is a story that I remember - I asked my dad offhandedly if he’d get a tattoo with me, thinking he’d say no, and I was struck with inspiration in the form of those little guys)

when I FaceTimed home today my whole family was getting home from work and I got to “sit” at the dinner table while my brother bitched about the garage and made fun of me and it reminded me of being 18 and eating dinner together :)

my brother ALSO reminded me of the time (probably 8 years ago now) where he looked at me in the middle of my stepsister’s wedding (him aged 13 me aged 15) and told me that I had a giraffe neck just. apropos of NOTHING. foul at the time fucking HILARIOUS now

and in terms of ACTUAL stories this is mayhaps selfish but I found myself writing something that I was so proud of that I was actively getting excited WHILE I was writing it

this is perhaps not what you meant but - I think it fulfills the vibe just a little bit 🫶✨

I was walking through the toy aisle at Target when I found this thing and had a VIOLENT AND IMMEDIATE FLASHBACK to when JP first came out and they had a bunch of REALLY COOL T Rex toys that I would have sold one of my scrawny small-child limbs for but my mother wouldn’t get me one because they were “too violent and also ate people” :(

Imagine you work at some fucking roadside diner in buttfuck nowhere and you have to wait a table with three dudes who aren't from around here and the guy with the long hair immediately pulls out his laptop with what looks like cult shit in the web browser and asks for your worst salad option, and the guy in the trenchcoat sniffs the pepper shaker and declares the molecules to be very sharp and the guy with the greenest eyes you've ever seen calls you sweetheart and then proceeds to engage with intimate eye contact with trenchcoat to a degree that is downright indecent and then orders the heart attack special on your menu and every time you walk past their table they're talking about that gruesome murder that happened in town and the pretty guy is feeding the trenchcoat guy fries while the hair guy talks about desecrating corpses
