like dust particles rising in the sunlight we are vessels of wind neither here nor there constantly arriving in perpetual transit constantly leaving like apparitions occupying spaces vacating places caught in a sudden trance we are what we were neither now nor then

imagine growing up weird but not really being thrown out of the norm

imagine still being called pretty but not ever really feeling desired

imagine always admiring people from afar but no one was ever really looking back at you

imagine one day toward the end of high school someone finally notices you

imagine for the first time you finally feel the sparks everyone was talking about when he touches you

imagine you finally have another hand to hold and the world for some reason just feels so much lighter

imagine youre both a little too scared and a little too immature to communicate properly

so imagine one day he stops responding and he avoids you at school and it takes you months to let go but you still blame yourself for a year and a half afterwards

imagine crying endlessly in your sleep after seeing him in your dreams every night you didnt have nightmares

image a relentless sadness driving your eyes lower and lower to the ground everyday

imagine a incessant emptiness you cant fill no matter what you do

imagine letting yourself be touched by anyone whose willing but never really feeling anything more than a new pair of hands and another empty space to look at when you go to sleep at night

now youre getting drunk on a tuesday after thinking about everyone whose become a ghost and you see his name on your phone

imagine him saying he misses you and finally telling you why he "left"

flashback to all the times you looked away when two people were holding hands or holding each others gaze a little extra long because it hurts too much to be reminded of him

imagine trying to move on with new people but seeing his face in all of them anyways

imagine missing him so much you can physically feel yourself aching when you lie down at night

imagine telling yourself if you could see him just one last time you could make things right

imagine convincing yourself youll never hear from him again but not so secretly hoping youll run into him one day and youll fall back into eachother again because its the only way you can let go but you never really seem

to move on

flash forward to present day you two are hanging out and hes barely in the car yet but you can already feel the difference in the air

imagine sitting around a sewer tunnel surrounded by bright green plants and leaves as the sun is setting and youre talking and nothing is wrong but you can feel yourself losing something inside of you the more you listen

imagine looking into a familiar face but not recognizing who they are at all

imagine holding onto to a feeling for so long but once youre presented with the source it just isnt there anymore

flashback to all your friends telling you how alike you are

flash forward to you two having attitudes and priorities on opposite sides of the polar

imagine he kisses you and you feel nothing

flashback to when he kissed you and it was the only thing you were aware of happening and it makes your whole body tingle

flash forward to him kissing you again and you almost forget to do it back

imagine being afraid to commit to anyone in fear of never truly losing feeling for him

imagine finally looking him in the eye again and feeling nothing

imagine being haunted by a feeling for so long but wanting nothing more than for it to just leave you alone

but now it has left you alone and you want it back so desperately but you just cant imagine ever feeling it again

It was a town like any other. There was nothing remarkable about it. There were no skyscrapers or city lights; the tallest point in town was the water tower. It was the kind of town you passed through on road trips, the sort you only stopped in for gas and potato chips to occupy your drive. The people who lived there seemed all too familiar – your nosy neighbor, your cousin that you only saw at weddings and reunions, your co-worker from the cubicle next to you. It looked to be an ordinary town, filled with ordinary faces.

That’s the funny thing about faces – they can deceive you.

Foxcroft appears as though it could be any town in any state, but it hides so much more. Its residents watch as people drive through, tricked by skin and hair and sickeningly sweet smiles that invite them to stay the night, but don’t be fooled or you may never leave.

Here you won’t find vampires or werewolves. No, here you’ll find something far more frightening, far more dangerous. Here you’ll find something no storybook or grimoire will tell you how to fight.

Foxcroft’s residents have adapted, learned to survive, learned to fight for themselves. They’re not people – not like you and I are at least. They’re hiding behind cigarette smoke and closed curtains, and you should be afraid because they’re so much more than the creatures you’ve read about.

TODAY THE INVESTIGATION OF ADAM FOXCROFT’S MURDER HAS GONE COLD. THERE HAVEN’T BEEN ANY LEADS IN MONTHS AND THE PEOPLE APPEAR TO HAVE MOVED ON. ADAM’S BODY HAS BEEN LAID TO REST, BUT HIS SISTER REMAINS IN THE LARGE EMPTY HOUSE AT THE EDGE OF THE SWAMPS. NEIL MONROE – THE LAST PERSON TO HAVE BEEN SEEN WITH ADAM – RESURFACES. HE’S FOUND UNCONSCIOUS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET BY A COUPLE ON A ROAD TRIP. HE’S COVERED IN BLOOD, BUT THERE’S NO CUTS OR GASHES ON HIS BODY. THE BLOOD IS NOT HIS OWN. THEY TAKE NEIL TO THE HOSPITAL AND WHEN HE WAKES HE CAN’T REMEMBER ANYTHING – OR THAT’S WHAT H TELLS POLICE.

This video is the only evidence of a homecoming happening downstairs, because believe me when I say everyone in this upper room were engrossed in the performance. Entirely enchanted by Noah's voice and brilliant lyrics. So thankful I got to see him live! (at The Yost Theater)
