Mug Root Beer is an American brand of root beer that was originally produced in 1940 under the name Belfast Root Beer. It is now made by New Century Beverage Company of San Francisco, California, which was acquired by PepsiCo in 1986.[1][2]
History
Mug Root Beer was originally sold under the name Belfast Root Beer in 1940 by the Belfast Beverage Company in San Francisco, California. The company had been known for making sparkling water and ginger ale since 1877.[3] Belfast Beverage Company was purchased around 1925 by New Century Beverage Company, which had successfully launched Crush Soda in 1918.
In 1936, New Century Beverage Company gained permission to franchise Pepsi-Cola products, and about four years later, it launched Belfast Root Beer. An advertisement for Belfast Root Beer appears as early as 1947.[4] According to the San Francisco Examiner, the catchphrase, 'You haven’t tasted Root Beer like this in years!' filled 1950s newspaper advertisements."[3] An advertisement for Belfast Old Fashioned Mug Root Beer appears as early as 1952.[5] In the 1950s, the soda took on the title Belfast Old Fashioned Mug Root Beer before its name was eventually shortened to Mug Root Beer.[3]
In the late 1960s, Sugar Free Mug (now Diet Mug Root Beer) was introduced.[6] Mug Cream Soda and Diet Mug Cream Soda were later introduced, but they are not as widely available. Mug was purchased by Pepsi in 1986, and replaced On-Tap Draft Style Root Beer as Pepsi's root beer brand.[6] Mug Root Beer is manufactured by independent bottlers under the authority of New Century Beverage Company.
Since Mug Root Beer's acquisition by PepsiCo in 1986, the company's mascot has been a bulldog named "Dog" holding a mug of Mug Root Beer.[3] PepsiCo stopped producing its sodas in San Francisco in the early 1990s.[3]

Last Sunday we said goodbye to the most fabulous Yaya, also known as "Queen Helen." She lived 99 years, and spent every single one as a classy, elegant woman who always showed love regardless of who she was speaking to.
She was a Mother of one, Grandmother of 2, great grandmother of 2, and Adopted grandmother to me and many of my LGBTQ+ friends, as she accepted all of us with open arms.

Status: Complete
Series summary: Your unconventional arranged marriage with your company’s President, Kim Seokjin, is necessary, practical, and simple - both your families benefit, and he minds his own business and so do you. But when a slip-up causes his parents to believe that you and he are in love, you have no choice but to pretend you are, especially with the trip to France for his brother’s wedding coming up. When you get back to Seoul, things start to change, and Seokjin is faced with the most difficult decision he has to make.
A/N: I came across Dead Stars by Paz Marquez Benitez again recently (a 1925 short story written in English and a classic in Philippine literature), and I was reminded of how I’ve always wanted to capture a fraction of the essence of that story ever since I read it in high school. But I sort of flipped it on its head and came up with this! My hand also slipped so lots of things happen. And given that I finished watching Business Proposal before I started writing and since I have no knowledge of the food production industry or the corporate world in general, several terms and elements were taken from that show (but it’s a completely different story). So please, don’t mind the inaccuracies! Jin has also been a menace 😈 recently so this was incredibly fun and satisfying to write. I hope you enjoy! 🥰🥰

Love–he seemed to have missed it. Or was the love that others told about a mere fabrication of perfervid imagination, an exaggeration of the commonplace, a glorification of insipid monotonies such as made up his love life?

[First 100 Merthur fanfictions ✌] WEEK #11 |
01. The Sidewalks of New York by emmbrancsxx0 Summary: New York City, 1925. Jazz, flappers, parties, and violence. In the midst of Prohibition, crime boss Arthur Pendragon and his gang, the Knights of the Round Table, arrive from London to open a speakeasy in Chelsea. Fearing they’ll lose their hold on Manhattan’s West Side, the Black Kings send Merlin Emrys to spy on the Knights. The two gangs quickly become rivals, and there is no place for love in war.
02. The Meat Feast by cornmouse Summary: Merlin is a BNF fanartist for The Roman, a camp HBO gladiator show. He accidentally becomes involved with The Roman's lead actor, Arthur Pendragon, over Skype without realizing it. Many pornographic shenanigans and misunderstandings ensue.
03. Nobody moves, nobody gets hurt by Leandra Summary: Arthur's life is turned upside down when Uther announces his marriage to a woman his children barely know. Enter Hunith and her son, Merlin, who is everything Arthur is not: unapologetically loud-mouthed, rebellious, cocksure and unabashedly queer.
04. School Days by JustCatchMe24 Summary: Merlin is a primary school teacher, and his student's father is the divorced Arthur Pendragon.
05. Of love triangles and other things that make [...] by miss_chevalier Summary: Merlin is excited about finally going to uni, making new friends and living the student life. Unfortunately there are obstacles to overcome before finding your one true love at university (like said love’s girlfriend).
06. A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Merman by SlantedKnitting Summary: Merlin lives a fairly simple life underwater. He teaches history, and he teaches magic. The magic teaching isn’t allowed, though, and to test his loyalty, Queen Nimueh sends him on a mission to destroy a nearby ship and drown any and all passengers. When Merlin can’t bring himself to kill the handsome sailor, instead saving his life, Queen Nimueh bans him from the ocean, forcing him to take up a new life on land.
07. Off the deep end by b_b_banana Summary: When they say crazy in love, they mean it literally. Why else would anyone keep coming back?
08. When I Wake Up I Find You're Gone by MarInk Summary: After an accident Merlin is paralysed from the waist down. That leaves Arthur rethinking their relationship and his whole life, and one day he decides to flee as far as he can. Little he knew when he hoped to escape from everything that he had left behind...
09. With Bloodstained Hands by beccadearie Summary: This time Arthur's secret is bigger than Merlin's. No need to let the whole world in on it. At least that's the plan. But plans don't always work out the way you want them to.
10. City Slicker by Polomonkey Summary: Arthur's a city boy, even if he is dating a country bumpkin who grew up on a farm. So why on earth has he agreed to go and help Merlin with lambing season?

(It appears that I have been woken from my peace in death and am now forced to open myself for questions on this platform. Apparently a certain Kaleun is to be found here too? I shall investigate that...)

Thank you @missholson for 'tagging' me!
Last song: 'I don't want to set the world on fire' by 'The Inks Spots', I found it in Sam's record collection.
Last movie: Wochenschau, but that was almost a year ago.
Currently reading: 'The Hobbit', not sure what to think of it, fantastical books aren't usually my genre and I've had to consult a dictionary several times.
Currently watching: Karla chewing on something, I should probably check it's nothing dangerous.
Currently craving: Some cake perhaps, and visiting an art gallery.
I shall 'tag' anyone who'd like to participate! (perhaps @askhoffy, @miss-indigodaisies, @somewhere-at-sea, @suchamiracle-does-exist ?)

Tag game
Name 7 comfort movies and tag 7 people.
@miss-indigodaisies Thank you for 'tagging' me, I hope I am doing this correctly!
Sadly I haven't seen many movies, I never was one to go much to the pictures, so I have collected my favourite, 'comfort' so to speak, pieces of literature and plays:
1. The Great Gatsby (1925), although American quite an interesting read, I must say
2. The Picture of Dorian Gray (1890), at times it is hard to read, but I find myself returning to it nevertheless, the story is intriguing
3. Faust (1808), a classic
4. Antigone (442 B.C.), a tragedy that simply 'hits right' as the youths would say
5. Twelfth Night (1602), I was dragged into that play (not much of a Shakespeare fan) but found it surprisingly good
6. Die Verwandlung (1915), there is something about Kafka's writing I am very drawn to
7. Carmen (1875), one of the few operas I do enjoy
Sadly I am not aquainted with many people here, so I shall 'tag' everyone who would like to participate!

Was 'tagged' by the dear @missholson and asked to list '9 people I have 'crushes' on/find attractive', so here it is:
