you hear the door open quietly, followed by the sound of riki’s soft footsteps. he’s later than usual, and it’s no surprise—another grueling practice, probably. you look up from the couch, smiling when you see him standing there, eyes a little tired but still bright enough to meet yours.

"hey," you greet him, voice soft.

riki doesn’t say anything at first. he just smiles lazily, walking over to you and sinking into the space next to you without a word. his usual energy is nowhere to be found, and you can tell just by looking at him that he’s exhausted. his body slumps, the tension finally seeping out after a long day.

“long practice?” you ask, though you already know the answer. he hums in acknowledgment, leaning into your side with a quiet sigh.

without saying anything else, he rests his head on your shoulder, his hair tickling your skin. you smile, already reaching up to stroke his hair gently, your fingers running through it in slow, soothing motions. his breath hitches softly as he melts into your touch.

“feels so good,” he mumbles, voice small, relaxed in a way he’s rarely able to let himself be. he’s never the type to show much weakness, always acting cool and tough, but with you, there’s no need to hide it. you rub his back, and he lets out a content sigh, his body relaxing even further.

he shifts so he’s practically curled up next to you, his hands finding a spot on your lap, his grip a little tighter than usual. you keep stroking his hair, humming softly, and it doesn’t take long before his breathing steadies, his tiredness taking over.

“you can fall asleep, babe,” you whisper, watching his eyelids flutter closed.

“mhm,” riki murmurs, voice barely audible, as if the thought of resting with you is all he needs. you pull him closer, and for once, he lets go of the façade, letting himself be nothing but your sleepy, soft boyfriend, tucked into your arms.

there's no rush, no need for anything other than this quiet moment together, and he’s completely okay with that. you’re both content, sharing the silence and warmth, as you keep gently running your fingers through his hair, watching him relax deeper into your arms.
