Okay thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!! Finally someone agrees with what I was practically screaming at the theater when I saw it!!

In reality, there are any number of things Izuku could/should have tried in his altercation against Flect Turn…and he would have too, I have zero doubt. Izuku is far more analytical than he’s shown in the film. If something isn’t working, he’ll try another approach, he always does. He’s smart.

Flect Turn can reflect attacks, but I don’t think that extends to physical objects. So Izuku hitting him with increasingly powerful punches will only get reflected back at him. But they’re in a library (of sorts) throw some books, Izuku! There are other tools at your disposal! Catch him off guard somehow! USE BLACKWHIP, something!!

I understand the reason is because canon is not as big a thing in Japan, and since it isn’t part of the main (manga/anime) story they can’t let big moments in the movies outshine big moments in the main plot. But STILL! He used Blackwhip against Rody at the beginning but didn’t pull it out for the Big Bad Boss Level?? Seems unlikely

I’m also of the mind that if this battle had occurred in the main story, a fight like that would’ve triggered the emergence of another OFA quirk. Obviously they couldn’t have that in the movie but the stakes were high enough that, realistically, the emotional toll would’ve likely triggered one.

I could go on, but I’ll leave it at this for now 😅

Many things annoy me about the BNHA movies but the worst one so far is the sheer loss of potential of Izuku, our protagonist, being accused of mass murder in a story that doesn’t have the time to dwell on it.

Any fic writer worth their salt would have shown the reaction of every member of 1-A. We would have at least thought of the political implications of a Japanese hero being accused of such a crime while he was outside the country. We should have drown in Dadmight.

And the villains' reactions could have been the funniest thing ever.

002. BIOGRAPHY …

dad was a mechanic that did some formula circuits when vicente was young. he basically grew up in his dad's shop, helping in any way he could. dad would take him to watch races when he could, and he managed to get vicente into karting by pulling some favors with the team he worked with.

his parents were rightfully nervous / scared about letting him do this because he was a reckless kid and a worse teenager. still, they loved him to death and let him race under the condition that he would still go to college and get a worthwhile degree just in case.

he graduated meche early and managed to start formula 1 racing with new york based racing team sentinel racing at 21 years old.

the team really took a chance on him because if he didn't do well, the entire team was going to tank by the time the season was over. he earned fifth in the overall drivers ranking and saved the team.

continued racing for sentinel and practically put the team on the map. over the course of his career, he won a grand total of 5 driver's championships.

[car accident tw] vicente was 32 when his racing career came to an abrupt end. mid-season, he got into a very terrible crash on the track, his car flipping many times and basically exploding into a fireball. he pulled himself out of the wreckage and the fire with the thought that he had to live for the sake of his family. he suffered some burns, as well as the amputation of his left arm below the elbow.

spiraled into a depression in which he isolated himself and just got worse and worse.

had some sense knocked into him a couple years back after which he reemerged and signed a contract with sentinel to train / mentor prospective and current drivers.

also runs a foundation to promote mechanical engineering for kids/teens and is very active in it.

refuses to show up at f1 press events.

is 100% convinced that the driver that crashed into him did it on purpose because he was on track for a sixth win.

has not made an appearance on any circuit since his crash

In a single moment, the world as he knew it had rapidly changed. But in reality, Shoto was the only one to have changed. He had found himself in a place he didn't recognize, surrounded by people he didn't remember. Everything was explained to him — that he was a student at U.A. and got hit with a regression Quirk — and it was decided it was better to return to his home until the effect of the Quirk would wear off. It was better to return to familiar faces, they thought, faces Shoto couldn't recognize still.

“ Fuyumi? ” His sister had grown to a pretty lady, looking too much like their mother. Shoto couldn't help but wonder: would he look like her too when he'd grow old? Heterochromatic eyes stared in awe at the older sister he hadn't had many chances to talk with in the past. The older sister that seemed would look after him for now. Wearing a genuine bright smile he wasn't used to seeing, other than the smiling All Might on TV.

Their house was the same, there weren't many differences yet nothing felt the same. Shoto didn't know what to do or what to say. He felt like a stranger, even with his sister. His eyes searched for his mother. She would have been there, now that he needed her, right? Even if he should have been older, and as it seemed, living somewhere else. How had he left her behind? Had dad stopped bullying her?

Head was raised for his eyes to meet with Fuyumi's. “ I'm sorry, ” he whispered. For causing this much trouble to all of them. The thought of dad getting mad at him made his stomach turn, as his gaze would fall to the ground. This shouldn't have happened. He may still have a hard time understanding what was going on, but it must have been him who had messed up and he should expect the consequences that'd follow.
