Kai only smirked in response to her statement, giving a hint that he did know what she was talking about, even if he didn't do any of it on purpose. He shrugged nonchalantly, "I am a hard man to read, I will admit. I like it that way," he raised an eyebrow, glancing down at the ring he now stopped twisting. "You've heard of them?" he asked, curious as to how, "Yes, I am their chosen son, their stray if you ask Grayson," he replied, referring to the biological Danes son and Kai's best friend, "You don't seem to mind though," he added with another, wider smirk. He glanced at his half finished drink and downed it in two gulps, "I can hardly turn down a beautiful woman such as yourself, can I?"

She chuckled at his words anyways. A genuine laugh, actually, that left her lips. It was refreshing, having this kind of conversation. "I'm sure you know exactly what I mean." Poppy said when she looked at him before glancing down at the watch her wore around his wrist. It wasn't until then when she noticed the ring around his finger. "I'm not sure, I can't figure you out and it's kind of frustrating me." Poppy admitted, dodging his question while her eyes moved back up to meet his. "But a Danes, huh? You might not be my father's new fave after all." Let's just say her family wasn't exactly fan of the family that took in little Malakai. They had quite the history, which she knew little of. Sadly for them, though. Her interest in him only grew. "Can I get you another drink?" Poppy asked before chugging the drink he'd given her only a few minutes ago. She was quite the quick drinker.

atlas wasn't sure he'd ever be completely done with the woman but he didn't voice that out loud. he moved out from the kitchen and leaned against the diner counter. he watched her for a moment with his arms crossed, musing what she said while taking the opportunity to appreciate her small frame in the waitress uniform. after he finished musing, he unfolded his arms and held out a pinky to her, "not yet," he said in answer to her question, smiling a little.

“so does that mean you’re not completely done with me?” she asked hopefully. there wasn’t really a happily ever after for anyone in this situation - but poppy learned a long time ago to take what she wanted when she wanted it. “i can even pinky promise not to lie anymore - anything you want to know, i’ll be an open book. and i can promise you, charlie will not be a problem.”

BODY BUILD: overall, and perhaps due to genetics, anaïs has always been slim. even as she went through a phase where her diet consisted of junk food and equally unhealthy drinks, she managed to maintain a petite physique. thanks to her love for sports and her fitness habits - which became more regular from fifteen onwards - she put on some more muscle weight and has since managed to shape her body into something she feels more comfortable with. she has adequate curves, nothing over the top and far from fitting unrealistic, disproportionate expectations and trends, but enough to grant her a feminine frame.  EYE COLOR: brown. Poppy didn't answer, simply letting out a giggle as he picked her up. Her arms wrapped around him tightly, squeezing, before she settled back onto her feet, hands fidgeting with her denim shorts for a moment.

"PHD? Silly excuse," Poppy teased - it was clearly a joke. She shrugged, rocking on her feet for a moment. "Just working, working and more working. It's nice to have a break for a bit. Missed you, though."

001. Diagon Alley Street Festival

“The first event in the monthlong celebration of five years of peace went off without a hitch!” “Ministry’s attempts to celebrate end of war succeed!”  “Up and Coming band proves they’re here to stay!” “Spotted: the Longbottoms enjoying the peace their matriarch bought for them with her life”

The day after the Diagon Alley Street Festival, headlines all over the media applauded the successful event. The Ministry (in conjunction with the shopkeepers in Diagon Alley) managed to create an environment that brought together all factions of the wizarding world with peaceful results. It seems that five years has helped everyone to put the war behind them and move forward as a society:

narcissa and lucius malfoy, long ago suspected death eaters, were the ones surprisingly most friendly, even to the point of being seen conversing with alice longbottom and molly weasley! it seems we’ve all gotten them wrong in the past, though lucius and his son draco did still wander down knockturn alley, where they came across sophia burke’s path (of borgin and burke’s).

notoriously strict hogwarts matron poppy pomfrey seemed less than enthused to be found in the midst of the celebrations -- it seems even the end of a war wasn’t enough to get her to loosen up.

surprisingly, another famously strict hogwarts professor seemed quite keen to enjoy the festivities. minerva mcgonagall had a smile on her face for just about everyone, and happily joined her husband alastor moody and their four year old daughter at the end of the evening to watch the concert. who would have thought these two once crusty folks would end up to be such soft parents?

marlene mckinnon seemed to be on duty, but that didn’t stop her from enjoying herself.

mary cattermole and sirius black were spotted in awkward (and heated) conversation, but we weren’t able to figure out what that was about. 

another person spotted in heated conversation with sirius was none other than his roommate and best friend’s wife, lily potter. wonder what he did to piss off the woman whose son he’s helping to raise?

elizabeth nott was seen in friendly conversation with alice longbottom, but neither witch seemed too keen to let their children interact with each other. guess they both still remember that it was alice’s husband frank longbottom who put elizabeth’s husband in azkaban. awkward.

remus lupin didn’t seem all that keen to join in on the celebrations, but he was spotted chatting away to both lily potter and mary cattermole, so he must have changed his mind. 

well, folks, that’s a wrap on our first event as a group! normally these events will be a little more plot driven, but it was a great opportunity to break the ice with all of our new characters, and I highly enjoyed catching up on the dash!

The in game dates until our next update are october 6-october 16. of course, feel free to para anything before the event (flashback threads are of course always welcome), but don’t stray after october 16.

“hey.” it’s an awkward lunch time, poppy having a total of no friends in this place. she’s only just been sent there, everything in her life being flipped upside down right before her mother sent her away. poppy’s just waiting for the day that samson or her father can find a way to get her back, bring her back into normal life. “mind if i sit here?” but before the girl has the chance to say anything poppy’s sitting, attempting to try to make a friend.

CHARACTER PERSONA | TASK 001

If they know about the supernatural: What is your character’s attitude to each species? What about each of the families? Are they aware of all species? To what extent are they knowledgeable about each species? Has your character always been the species they currently are? What is one positive interaction they’ve experienced with the supernatural? What about one negative? For the most part, Poppy is really chill with all species of the supernatural. She has hardly found herself in much trouble as far as meeting others that are not werewolves like herself. All hostility has solely come from how others perceive her species. Example; hunters generally think all supernatural should parish, Ramos having a vendetta, various individuals having personal hate because of a bad past reaction. Poppy believes that anyone and everyone should be judged on who they chose to be, although hunters hold a little bit of a special category. Fear of them holds her back and she more than likely will be stand-offish until that individual hunter proves to her that they can be trusted.  What are your character’s thoughts about immortality? Would they chose it if given the option? Poppy doesn’t really have a huge opinion on the topic, feeling mostly empathy for anyone that didn’t particularly choose that path.  She personally wants to go into the ground one day and doesn’t have any desire for immortality.  What is your character’s opinions on magic? Would/Do they view it as something positive, or negative? Positive, hasn’t had any huge issues. Here’s a scenario: Your character has to chose another species to become and cannot remain the one as they are – what would they pick and why? Human would be her first choice so she could try her hand at a fairly average life, taking a step back from the supernatural community. If not that, it would be a witch so she wouldn’t have to deal with the full moon changes.

She laughed a little bit. "It's really good. I can say I want a little more and see what he can do. It was my addiction in high school and now it's no different. Kinda sucked when him and I weren't talking and I was craving it when I was pregnant with both my kids." Nancy laughed a little bit. "Well, if it wasn't, I think I'd be doing my job wrong. However, it's not a lie." She saw it in her kids where their tastes changed going up and even she did. It was just a thing that happened and you couldn't help it. Everyone went through it. "Well, next time you should. Your first meal there will be on the house."

"Tell me more about this Canadian candy. Does your man take orders because I could get into some candy smuggling." Poppy joked lightly with the woman, not wanting to make the rest of the day about anything too serious. She was excited to be around new people, the last thing she wanted was horribly deep and meaningful conversations right off the bat.

"That's such a mum thing to say, I love that. I'm not getting old, I'm just changing." Poppy grinned and quickly shook Nancy's hand, "I'm Poppy, it's so nice to meet you -- I've walked past the bar and grill so any times, but I haven't had the chance to duck in.--" she took a sip of her drink and hummed happily at the taste, "-- you might see me far more often now."
