Choosing a swag… where do you even start? Our purchasing guru goes through a similar dilemma when deciding which products we recommend to our customers. And our warranty guy wants him to get it right so a stack of bad products don’t end up on his ‘fix-it’ pile.
The lucky thing for us is that we have fantastic customers who provide valuable feedback on their swags. That way we can scrap any swags that create too much work for our warranties department, and instead we can buy and recommend based on popularity and reliability. We’ve put this info on a list to help you decide too.
This list is just a snippet of our swag range. We introduced Burke & Wills Swags in 2016, and our didn’t make it on this list but you’ll find them along with a stack of swag bags and accessories on our website.
So to back up our Best Swags of 2015 list, and to help you find your perfect swag, here are our 10 best selling swags of 2016.
For the latest and greatest in swags, check out our latest swag review here.
10. Jolly Swagman Matilda Swag
Available in Jolly Swagman Matilda Swag is an apex style swag that can be used as a traditional envelope with the cover loosely laid over the top, or pitched with the addition of an optional head pole.
The Matilda is Australian made with tough, high-quality polycotton canvas and long-lasting insect mesh. This makes it perfect for the camper looking for basic, reliable shelter.
9. True Blue Bluey Bigfoot Swag
Also made in Australia, the Bluey Bigfoot Swag appeared on our list last year and rightfully appears in the 2016 list too. It’s made from 100% cotton canvas making it a tough and breathable swag that comes at an entry-level price.
A great choice as a first swag, or for those looking for an excellent balance between price and quality.
8. Darche Ridgedome Swag
Darche swags are made with all the bells and whistles, and the Ridgedome Swag is by no means any exception to this. It has a 3 pole free-standing design made with tough canvas and a PVC base. The Ridgedome also features 3 entrances, 2 windows and exceptional ventilation.
This not the cheapest swag in our range. But if you’re willing to invest upfront, then the Darche Ridgedome Swag will provide a lifetime of restful sleep in the outdoors.
7. Oztrail Cooper Expedition Swag
An envelope swag is basically a fabric box with a mattress inside, just like the Cooper. It’s the perfect choice when you need a swag for occasional use without all the extra features.
The Cooper Expedition swag comes in both single a
A roomy high-quality swag, the Jolly Swagman Shiralee has a large top opening, ventilation at the head end and it comes in single and double sizes. It’s Australian made with poly cotton canvas sourced from India and Pakistan. This canvas provides exceptional tear strength, abrasion resistance and breathability.
The mattress is a high-density foam with exceptional memory. This means the foam will keep springing back to its original thickness for years before it needs replacing. The Shiralee is well priced for a high-quality swag with all the functionality most people expect.
5. Oztrail Kokomo Swag
It’s on our list again this year, the Kokomo offers predominantly female campers the option to add a little colour to their campsite. Available in pink and purple, the Oztrail Kokomo Swag is a 3 pole swag with a thick mattress and a full-length top opening.
4. Oztrail Biker Swag
As the name suggests, this one is for motorcycle touring. It features a narrow mattress for a smaller packed size. This makes it easy to strap it to the back of your motorbike. Enveloped in SatProof canvas, the Darche Ranger Solo has just landed on our shelves as a specced up alternative.
Although popular amongst motor and trail bike tourers, the Oztrail Biker Swag is also ideal for horseback adventures or even for campers with limited vehicle space.
3. Oztrail Lachlan Swag
The Oztrail Lachlan Swag comes with creature comforts. You get a 3 pole design with a 7cm mattress, PVC base, heavy-duty canvas, and a full panoramic opening at a very affordable price. It’s a perfect mid-range swag with the features and space of high-end models.
2. Darche Dusk to Dawn Swag
New to our range this year, the Dusk To Dawn swag has quickly gained traction to become one of our best-selling swags.
It offers liveability not found in many swags thanks to large side doors that can be pitched as side awnings with an optional pole set to create a rain-proof space on each side of your swag. These door panels can also be rolled open for excellent views of the night sky, or for superb ventilation.
A freestanding design in three sizes made with thick poly-cotton canvas and insect proof mesh. The Dusk To Dawn Swag has large internally accessed weatherproof awnings, a PVC base, internal storage and integrated roll straps. All of which can be stored in the included heavy duty canvas storage bag.
1. Oztrail Mitchell Swag
It is and probably always will be our best selling swag, simply because is is great value for money. There are 2 versions of this swag. The original Mitchell King Single is the model that has been around for years, it’s a 3 pole dome swag with a canvas base and all the basics you need, in 3 different colours.
We think the canvas used for this version has a more durable feel than the recently introduced Mitchell Expedition which came into the Oztrail swag range mid-2015. The Expedition version is available in King Single and Double sizes and apart from what we feel is a difference in the fabric, shares all the same dimensions and features as the original King Single, only with a PVC base.
So which do you choose, the original Mitchell King Single or Expedition? Well, if price is your deciding factor, then the Expedition wins out. Price aside, you would choose the expedition if you spend most of your camping hours in wet environments.
This is because the PVC offers better water protection, especially during transport. If you just want an all-rounder, you can’t look past the original King Single.
These are the best swags we’ll continue to recommend to our customers in 2017. We’d love to know what keeps you protected from the elements and sleeping soundly in the outback.

:000000 now all the nd kids UBER relate to matilda :3
This week’s famous person with ADHD is…
Mara Wilson
Who is she? Mara Wilson is an American actress and writer. She is most well-known for her roles in Mrs. Doubtfire (1993), Miracle on 34th Street (1994) and Matilda (1996).
Date of birth: July 24th, 1987
Diagnosis: Wilson was diagnosed with ADHD when she was 19. She also has OCD and has struggled with depression and anxiety.
Medication: Wilson tried medication after her diagnosis but didn’t like it. However, she has recently decided to give them another shot and it seems to be going well so far! (You can find some tweets about her experience here.)
Quote: “I do like the idea of being like: ‘no this isn’t so much a disorder as it is just a different way of seeing the world’ and it it can make our lives, ya know, ADHD can make our lives more difficult, but also, like, please appreciate what it brings. Because people love that I can remember tiny details from conversations with them from so long ago and give them a present based on that!”
Note: Wilson was recently on a podcast called LadyHD to talk about her ADHD and the whole episode is delightful, so I recommend checking it out! (Link for Apple here, link for Spotify here)

Shit I'm in Love with Dramaturgy: Rachelle Elie @ Edfringe 2017
Bawdy Romp through Life, Love and Family with Cheeky Songs About Sex
Rachelle Elie can tell you more about love and relationships than Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna and Katy Perry could ever do – and she’s laying it all on the line.
The Outstanding Canadian Comedy Award winner is bringing her critically acclaimed one-woman show Shit I’m in Love With You Again (SIILWYA) to the Edinburgh Fringe for the first time. Packed with witty observations, tales of embarrassment plus cheeky songs about sex it’s a joyfully bawdy romp through the ups and downs of her life that covers teenage lust, family, marriage, parenthood and therapy.
What was the inspiration for this performance?
For the last 15 years I have been creating and touring one-woman comedy character shows such as Joe: The Perfect Man and Big Girls Don’t Cry. After years of marital distress, my obstetrician/gynaecologist husband and I managed to rescue our love from the cliff’s edge, a recovery that inspired my own story.
I realised I knew more about love and relationships than Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna and Katy Perry could ever know. So six years ago I decided to strip away the characters, get on stage in stand up clubs and find my own voice, a decision that led to Shit I’m in Love With You Again. The show is my life, including my time spent in Kenya where my husband worked in a hospital and I taught art to HIV positive adults shunned by society.
Medical politics forced my husband to resign his post just as I, after making sacrifices and overcoming doubts to accompany him, found my niche and was making a real difference to people’s lives. The rest is history – a history laid bare for all to see on stage. Shit I’m in love With You Again is my first autobiographical show and this is me laying it all on the line.
Is performance still a good space for the public discussion of ideas?
I feel theatre is still one of the best ways to share ideas. What I love about theatre is it is an art form that requires an audience. As a performer I get immediate feedback about whether my idea is being understood and it affects my performance.
With so much social media and texting, face-to-face communication is harder to get but theatre is an old fashioned art form that offers modern present day idea sharing and expression.
How did you become interested in making performance?
From a very early age I would do silly characters to make my siblings laugh. My brother always pushed me to do the characters for others to make them laugh. We would be driving through Florida and he got me to walk up to strangers and do my characters. I got addicted to the laughs.
Those were early performances. By being weird I realised I could affect a stranger’s day. I failed Grade 8 and at that time a guidance counsellor encouraged me to audition for a high school of the arts. I didn’t know it but I was an artist. I got into the art and dance program and thrived. At 16 I was working as a professional model and at a Ralph Lauren show we were told to completely ignore the audience.
This was impossible to me and that realisation led me to persuing a degree in acting at Bishop’s University. Making performance was something I gravitated towards but as I got older the type of performance I was meant to do became clearer. I went to theatre school to be a serious actress but my true calling has always been to be a clown and to do comedy.
Is there any particular approach to the making of the show?
Every show I have created has had a slightly different approach but most of the time it involves collaboration with clown experts. I have worked with Philippe Gaulier, Sue Morrison, Mike Kennard, James Keylon, Francine Cote, Adam Lazarus, David Shiner and others. T
hese people are masters of clown and physical comedy. When starting a new project I often get in a room with one of these people and start jamming. They help me get clearer with my ideas. I also get on stage as much as I can because the audience will immediately let me know if something is working. I am not a linear thinker so I often work with dramaturges or directors to shape the show.
Once I feel I have at least an hour of strong material I will schedule previews so the show can further develop in front of an audience. I will video those previews and make major cuts at that point. Friends and family feedback also influences my work.
Does the show fit with your usual productions?
In the past my work has been theatre based and the shows have revolved around over the top characters. This show was developed in front of audiences in stand-up clubs, cabarets and bars. It became clear after hundreds of 5-30 min sets that a new show was in development but I was to be the central figure.
Many comedians will say it takes years to really find your VOICE, after six years of consistent performances and feeling like my comedic voice was surfacing it became clear that I needed to create a new piece. I knew I wanted to perform it in theatres so I returned to my usual approach; to shows which involved several collaborators and mentors.
What do you hope that the audience will experience?
More and more people need to laugh. As a comedian my favourite part of my work is doing just that and I believe this show provides some comic relief. I am also a trained clown. Clowns go too far, push boundaries and talk about things people are usually hesitant to discuss.
I hope audiences jump on board with me when I go into the good the bad and the rauchy experiences of life. My specialty is “being too much” and “going too far” I hope audiences will enjoy my unique brand of comedy developed over the last twenty years that involves storytelling, stand up, clown, characters and acting.
Near the end of the show, when we get more into the crisis of my relationship audiences get to see the worst of me. It is very intimate. I try to always come back to the light of it which is fun because things get crazy and then we laugh about how ugly things got. I had a friend who went through a nasty divorce and at the end of the show he was teary and said he wished he saw the show before they broke up.
Another elderly overweight gentleman said he wished he had "fucked first" in his first marriage. Maybe it would of saved it! I tell the truth about love and relationships and the shows message is that even if a relationship appears to be shit it may be fixable. I hope audiences will laugh and when conflict part of the show comes up that people will relate to my struggle and to my universal message about love.
What strategies did you consider towards shaping this audience experience?
A few years back I discovered Aristotle's “Fryetag's Pyramid". Exposition, Rising action, Climax, Falling action & Resolution. I am not by nature a linear thinker and this tried and true triangle for story development is a strategy that helped me shape my chaotic ideas. Also I perform as much as I can in front of a live audience so that I can ensure my writing and performance are consistently funny for all types of audiences.
Lastly and most importantly as a performer doing what I have to do before a show, to be in the moment with the audience that is in front of me, is crucial to shaping an audiences experience. There is a magical place, a five star place, between an audience and a performer on stage and when I access that place the audience and I have the ultimate experience. I am getting better and better at stepping into that place and it is the part of theatre that is like skydiving: life and death.
The show was a sing and shout-along success across Canada. Mums empathise with the “Ring of Fire” scene where Elie discusses that unforgettable sensation during childbirth, just before the baby arrives.
And we can all learn from the Fuck First ditty and its core message about going to bed together before, rather than after, a romantic restaurant curry.
SIILWYA rips through every key moment from Elie’s fall out with Jesus and enthusiastic embrace of sexual freedom, to true love and a marriage that came within an inch of divorce.
Described by legendary French master clown Philippe Gaulier as “fucking funny”, Elie has won bucket loads of praise. Critics delight at the energy and charm with which she delivers this autobiographical tale. Elie’s comedy can switch in an instant from naivety to raunch and then into the pathos of the realisation that she “loves everything about her husband – even the things that she hates”.
Elie treats universal themes in unexpected ways. She says: “It’s all there from splitting up with Jesus to the need for patience, tolerance and blow jobs in saving your marriage. I know more about long-term relationships than Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna and Katy Perry combined. I’ve been in the trenches of love for 20 years with my husband. We’re raising two boys together. I talk about the things most people are afraid to discuss.”
The songs are co-written with Luke Jackson, who provides live musical accompaniment.

Car of the Month: 2020 Hyundai Palisade
<!-- p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; text-indent: 36.0px; font: 12.0px 'Courier New'; color: #000000; -webkit-text-stroke: #000000} p.p2 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Courier New'; color: #000000; -webkit-text-stroke: #000000; min-height: 14.0px} span.s1 {font-kerning: none} span.s2 {font: 8.0px 'Courier New'; font-kerning: none} -->
The name Palisade is defined as a type of fence with pointed stakes for protection and defense. So, perhaps with the introduction of the 2020 Palisade, Hyundai is projecting their 3-row, luxury-minded SUV as their best line of defense against the endless barrage of big crossovers these days, and a family’s best protection from the outside world! Or, maybe, they just thought the name sounded cool!
Though it does truly look like they want to protect you, by making just about every safety system standard; including Forward and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance.
Up close and personal, the Palisade is not as big as it appeared when it first debuted on the auto show stand. It is tall for sure, but length is actually just shy of the rival Honda Pilot. And, the 114.2-inch wheelbase is the same as the Nissan Pathfinder.
For better or worse, looks are what can often make or break a vehicle sale. Needless to say Hyundai is not sneaking around. The Palisade wears a huge face that demands respect. The Palisade is of course kin to Kia’s Telluride. However, while the Kia is assembled in Georgia, the Palisade is imported from South Korea.
They share the same 3.8-liter V6 engine, and outputting an identical 291-horsepower. The transmission is an 8-speed automatic that sends power to the front wheels, or to all four if Hyundai’s HTRAC all-wheel-drive system is added. While HTRAC can certainly handle some light off-roading situations with ease, it also comes with a rear-biased Sport mode to improve on-road handling.
Seating for eight is standard, though 2nd row Captain’s Chairs come with Limited trim. Middle row room is enormous, and comfort level high. One-Touch folding of the 2nd row allows for easy entry into the 3rd; where you’ll find adequate space for adults for shorter trips.
There’s more cargo space than a Chevrolet Tahoe behind the 3rd row, 18.0 cubic-ft. With the middle row down, there’s 45.8 cubic-ft.; maxing out at 86.4 with all seats folded.
Being a Hyundai flagship model, and one aimed at families, means a tech quotient as high as for comfort. Well, if your definition of high-tech is a 10-inch touchscreen for navigation and the like, wireless phone charging, and seven USB ports; then you will be happy.
Our first drives were around the state of Idaho where we found the Palisade to be quite maneuverable and easy to handle. Similar to the Telluride, it drives much smaller than it is, aided by great visibility all around. It also responds appropriately quick and powerful out of turns. There is a good amount of feel from the light steering, to help you find your way through curves smoothly and safely.
For our complete road test of the 2020 Hyundai Palisade, be sure to catch MotorWeek episode #3849 that begins airing August 9, 2019. For a listing of the public television stations that broadcast MotorWeek, go to motorweek.org and click the “About The Show” tab at the top. MotorWeek is also seen Tuesday evenings and throughout the week on the MotorTrend cable network.
So, what else is Hyundai trying so hard to protect with this 2020 Hyundai Palisade? Perhaps it’s their secret formula for delivering an amazing amount of luxury, practicality, and comfort in a highly desirable package that remains quite attainable. That’s certainly something worth defending and the Palisade easily lives up to its name.

The Love from Community
People love Ajith, not for his skin or color. At least not the straight young males – who are the largest his fans. Many are the huge fan of his. His are the only movies that I watch suspending all my judging tendencies.
These are various reasons for the admiration of Ajith. After all, he is the most famous actor of Tamil cinema after Rajini. He has been electrifying effect on his friends and fans. Few actors earn that quality. This is being the reason why you can watch the funniest and ridiculous movies. Now Ajith can lift even a movie with the storyline which is not discernable. Also, they don’t even need to put so much of efforts in this. The way he walks, he grooms up, his style sense, all just is so awesome. Now he resided at a great place in everyone’s heart, he was loved for his action and also for what he did for society.
The Career Work and Role
A dangerous villain he is. His movies are in so many shades that one fails to identify the best. Many of his movies didn’t work out well in box office, his decision to play a bad role in two consecutive movies shows the audience his guts. And he has done that throughout his career. After leaving the school earlier, Ajith was a bike mechanic which ignited him to the first job and certainly inspired him to become a great racer. As a commercial sales agent, Ajith has worked in a garment company. He was quite nice in marketing, it is known from some of his friends that he loved to talk and deal with people while showing and selling his product.
He knows how to overcome adversity, being the proud son of a Sindhi mother and a Literality father, Ajith had very little exposure to Tamil as a kid. That’s why he faced too many difficulties.
Ups & Downs: Part of Ajith’s Personal Life
Ajith, the actor was not offered too many lead roles during the starting of his career. However, being a true fighter, Ajith denied allowing adversity get the better of him. He is kind at heart, in 2000 Mr. Ajith tied the knot with popular actress Shalini. Interestingly, but she was a Christian, ‘Thala’ decided to get married just according to the traditions & customs of Hinduism as well as Christianity. This just added a filmi touch to their marriage and established Ajith. While he was dating his costar i.e. Shalini, their engagement made a topic for the discussion in the town. On 3rd January Shalini gave birth to Anoushka in Chennai and on 2nd March she gave birth to their son Aadvik.
Ajith has given Bollywood a glimpse of his style, it gave fans of Hindi cinema a good look at the recently created phenomena known as Ajith Kumar. Sharing big screen with Shah Rukh Khan, ‘Thala’ delivered a great performance and proved that was equally as charming and effective as the ‘Badshah’ himself. When he was tied to essay the lead role in the official remake of Rajinikanth’s movie ‘Billa’, which created quite a stir in the movie gossips. Many of them thought whether Ajith would be able to do justice to a role immortalized by the ‘Thalaivaa’ himself.
However, when the film came to theatres, Ajith’s critics were forced to eat humble pie. Vishnuvardhan directed, the gangster-thriller came with a big hit at the box office. Interestingly, the original ‘Billa’ was the remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Don’.
