"i just don't understand why everything he says has to stress me out so much," you complain, your voice coming out muffled as you shove your face into your pillow.

kyungmin couldn't help but laugh from the other end of the line - your complaints about your boss and his strange articulation seeming to become more and more consistent in your late night chats.

he knew you were stressed - you always have been ever since junior high - so he should be used to finding ways to help you, but he couldn't this time. he couldn't find a reason your boss was being so harsh- so passive-aggressive.

kyungmin lays in his own bed, listening to your annoyed sighs with a soft smile on his face. although your situation was far from ideal, he still couldn't help the way his heart jumped when you called for him.

"min?" you ask, brows furrowed as you stare at your ceiling.

he breathes out a soft sigh, whispering softly into his phone. "yeah?"

"what should i do?"

and there kyungmin lays, still not having an answer for you. he thought of it all: why your boss might have said what he did, why he might have reacted that way, how whatever it was could have inconvenienced his work - kyungmin had no reasoning and no solution.

"can i come see you?" you blurt out, not exactly thinking, but knowing just seeing him could help at the very least to distract you - plus, it's been a horrifically long time since you have last seen each other. he swallows thickly from the other end, turning on his side to see if he can make out the silhouettes of his members in the dark room; he could, and they were asleep.

he leans on his elbow, propping himself up on his bed as he squints. "it might be too risky for you to come here, but i'm sure i can sneak out-"

"kyungmin, if you sneak out they might make you and everyone else hike again," you say, a small chuckle hanging onto the end of your sentence. "isn't that even riskier?"

"doing the hike wasn't that bad, and the view was pretty," he counters, and you can hear as his bed creaks with his movements as he leaves it. "if we have to hike again, it's not a big deal."

you let out a groan, turning to face your clock - 9:13 pm.

"thirty minutes," you say, hearing as he tosses on a jacket. "you have to be back in the dorm after thirty minutes."

kyungmin smiles, pressing his phone to his ear once more. "gotcha. meet me at the park?"

you nod out of habit, verbally answering once you catch yourself and hopping off of your own bed. knowing the chill from the night's atmosphere would be too extreme for your current attire, you follow in kyungmin's footsteps and toss on your own jacket - ironically - one you stole from him months ago.

the line goes silent, followed by three consecutive beeps as the call ends. you slip on a comfortable pair of shoes, being sure to grab your keys on your way out. the night's atmosphere nipped at your fingertips, your hands diving into your - kyungmin's - jacket pockets to try and escape the chill.

despite kyungmin's dorm not being too far from your own, finding the time when you were both free was incredibly hard - more often than not, you found yourself watching their music stages and variety show appearances just so you could see your childhood friend.

your feet padded along the cold concrete and the crunch of fallen leaves could be heard occasionally as you continued. there weren't many people out at this hour, which played into your favor considering your friends' occupation.

the benches were covered in leaves, the metal it was made out of seemed to be the last place you wished to sit as you waited for kyungmin. choosing to stay standing, you shift your weight from foot to foot, hands beginning to shiver in your pockets as you gulp.

it was quiet - the usually busy streets crowded with cards were now vacant, the nightlife of the city that normally occupied the streets no longer seemed to show any kind of interest in the many restaurants and shops that were around the perimeter of the park.

a leaf crunches behind you. "hey," a muffled voice breaks through the silence and catches your attention. turning around, you can't help but smile as you see your friend, half of his face covered by a beige scarf.

"hi, min," you reply, a smile of your own painting your face as he steps closer, opening his arms to welcome you into a friendly - and hopefully warm - hug.

he holds you for longer than he normally does - whether that be because of the chilling temperatures or he simply wanted to hold you - you were unsure. your heart longed for the latter option, but for the sake of your heart, your brain forces you to believe it was for the warmth you provided him with.

"it's..." he begins, still not pulling away from you, swaying from side to side with you in his arms. "it's really nice to see you, y/n."

your eyes are closed, a content sigh escaping your nose. "it's nice to see you, too, min. don't make me wait this long anymore, please."

he chuckles, the vibration causing you to laugh as well. "you know its not by choice," he states, finally pulling back just enough to see your face, his arms still resting atop your shoulders. "you do know that, right?"

you nod, meeting his eyes. "i know. just..." you turn your gaze away from him. "just teasing you is all."

"do you wanna sit for a bit?" kyungmin asks, his arms finally leaving you as he turns around, looking in the direction of the bench you thought about passing time on earlier.

"that bench is probably so cold..."

"you are... definitely right," he says, a bashful laugh hanging off of the end of his sentence. "are you okay with standing then?"

you nod. "as long as you are."

"honestly, i don't care how we see each other," he begins, his heart beat picking up with each word he spoke. "as long as i get to see you." it felt cheesy to him - the words he chose and how he chose to say them to you. a part of him hoped you would pick up on the intensity of his words; read between the lines to find what his true feelings were. another part of him was terrified of that possibility.

"if it came down to it, i'd sit on a freezing bench to see you, too," you say. "i'm glad that we don't have to do that, but- y'know, if i had to, i would."

he smiles at your words, his hands hidden in his jacket pockets as they fidget. the streetlamps did little to illuminate the park, neon signs of nearby convenience stores and restaurants causing colorful hues to shine on the pavement.

as if kyungmin was trying to be sneaky, he turns his head to look at you next to him, your conversation having died down causing a silence to loom over you both - it wasn't uncomfortable, but he wanted to talk to you as much as he could in this moment.

how you were feeling, what you ate that day, how work - besides your boss - was treating you, if you ever finished that show you were planning to watch, if you've picked up on any new hobbies - he wanted to know in every way how you've grown so he can grow and learn alongside you.

the soft chatter of your teeth brings him back - without a moments hesitation, he's removing his scarf swiftly and stands in front of you, gently lacing the soft fabric around your neck and weaving the end through the beginning to form a firm tie.

you could only stare at him, his eyes trained on his hands that were adjusting your new garment. only then he notices your choice of jacket. "i've been looking for this one everywhere, y'know."

you laugh as you've been caught red-handed. kyungmin putting his scarf around you - and whatever bubbly feeling you got from it - quickly passes as his lighthearted banter started up again.

"it's comfortable, but i guess i can give it back later," you say, knowing he wouldn't take it from you while the temperatures were this low.

it's okay, he thinks. you look nice in my clothes.

"fine," he rolls his eyes playfully. "maybe next time i can take you out to buy your own clothes so you don't have to take mine."

"i get to see you again and get free clothes? we can definitely do that-"

"woah, hey! i never said i was buying! just that i'd go with you," kyungmin corrects, hands shooting out of his pockets and raised into the air as if he was surrendering.

you laugh with him, the night continuing as you converse, unconsciously going from standing side-by-side to facing one another, eyes lingering on each others features as you took turns updating one another on your lives.

he loved watching you talk - a small glimmer shining in your eyes as you shift between looking into his own and your surroundings. you always held that habit - never being able to hold eye-contact for a long time, often shifting your gaze elsewhere once you felt its been too long. it always made a rush of warmth fill kyungmin's chest whenever you would meet his gaze again; that's how he knew you felt comfortable with him.

his eyes were on you as you went on about the show you had actually finished not too long ago, stopping to ponder on how you can explain your shock without spoiling the plot. in your moment of thinking, you're met with kyungmin's soft eyes, a delicate smile on his lips that you could only see from how close you stood to him.

" 'm sorry for rambling," you apologize, a shy smile apparent on your features before kyungmin quickly shushes you.

"no, i-" he begins, releasing a soft exhale that was now visible due to the steadily dropping temperature of the night. "you don't have to be sorry."

even if it was just moments ago that you were talking, you found your train of thought to be lost as you looked at your friend - friend.

that word stung a little, a heavy feeling settling in the pit of your stomach as you felt your skin tingle. you didn't wish for kyungmin to see your reaction out of fear; not fear of judgement - you know kyungmin would be the last person to judge you - but rather out of fear of ruining everything you had built with him.

"i like seeing you get super passionate about stuff," he reassures once more, his hands attaching to his opposing biceps and rubbing hastily. "god, it's cold-"

"you can go back to the dorm, min, it's okay," you smile, grateful you even had the opportunity to see him - yet the ache in your chest at the thought of him leaving was still apparent. "i'd hate to keep you out here any longer."

"i don't want to go yet," kyungmin says sheepishly, his smile wide even as his jaw clenches. you were unsure if the blush that settled on his cheeks and nose were from the chill or if just maybe it had a deeper meaning, but your pulse quickened nonetheless at the sight. "can't you just come back with me?"

your eyes widen. "i don't really think that's up to me," you say, a breathless laugh escaping you and making itself visible between you both. "i think that's up to the people who live there."

his eyes glimmer, and you knew you said something that sparked mischief within him. "you know i live there, right?" he says, wide grin never faltering as his hands release from himself and reach toward your own.

his hands we're cold on yours, and while you wanted to pull away, you didn't, allowing kyungmin to drag you along as he started walking in the opposite direction you came from. "and as someone who lives there, i think it's a great idea to have you come back."

"it's late-"

"it'll be fine, don't worry, okay? plus, being inside sounds so much nicer than being out here, doesn't it?"

his feet don't stop moving, continuing down the pavement as the street light illuminates the small batches of leaves that gathered at the street corners. you don't answer him - his scarf moving over your chin and mouth from your hurried walking.

you couldn't find it within yourself to be mad about the spontaneous invitation - especially not when kyungmin would look back to you with a beaming smile. you knew kyungmin could talk his way out of any sort of punishment he'd face for leaving and bringing you back, and you knew he'd hate for you to feel at fault for whatever punishment he'd face.

you were both heaving as you picked up your pace, wanting nothing more than to escape the cold night. warmth filled kyungmin's chest as he felt your hand squeeze his tighter - maybe he'd meet up with you in awfully low temperatures if it meant he could selfishly keep you close to himself more often.

The sun start to rise, welcoming itself to your room passing the curtain. You woke up from it and the first thing you see was Shinyu’s chest where he still holds you. You look up to be welcome by his sleeping face and you grin, admiring it. You slowly pulled yourself up to be face with his neck in which you gladly gave a kiss. His adam’s apple started to move and he woke up. “Good morning!” You sweetly said, giving him another kiss on the neck dangerously close to his adam’s apple. “Darling.” He look down at you and smirk. “If you continue that, we’ll have to do round 2.” You blushed but continued to kiss. He chuckles bring the blanket over you and doing exactly what he said.

Once your food arrive, Kyungmin took the liberty to cut your meat while you wait. You beg him to speed up but he jokingly refuse. So for payback you move to the other side where he is and took a sit on his lap with your hands around his neck. He stop a moment to look at you as you grin, he laugh it off and continue to cut while you put your face on his neck. “Im hungry Kyungminiee~” You said leaving a peck on his neck. Definitely a good kisser. Seems like he'd have experience. The way his lips move gently against yours, not too aggressive but with a slight neediness to them, would just drive you insane and have you gripping his shirt

He wouldn't do it for too long, wanting to take things slow and make sure he doesn't overwhelm you. Would just smile and rub his thumbs against your red cheeks once you two pull away

It'd be so perfectly clumsy, his lips slightly off centre to yours as his hands pat your arms, making you blush even harder

When he pulls away, he wouldn't be able to say anything at all, just stare, dazed. His brain would be in overdrive, trying to calm himself down while also screaming on the inside. When he finally snaps out of it, he'd bring your hand up to his lips, staring into your eyes as he kisses your knuckles and confesses

Wouldn't even do it on purpose. You'd just be talking to him and he'd tease you and you'd pout. He'd think you're so cute, he'd just grab your face and start planting kissed all over it, his finally kiss landing on your lips and causing you to squeak in shock

that, at least, used to be the belief you guided yourself with. relishing in your alone time and making the most of the few hours - or even minutes - you were able to bask in. as of recent times, you've found your time spent alone to feel much more . . . lonely.

that was your intention, though, wasn't it? to free yourself of the pressure to maintain conversation and allow yourself time to recharge your social battery before you had to repeat the same process; it's felt different recently.

in the beginning of your relationship with your boyfriend, you failed to realize why you felt the way you did. but the more and more your usual lonesome weekends turned into morning breakfasts and evening movies, you realized you began to long for more moments with him.

the times you'd typically lay back and recount your day, you found yourself calling him to talk about it. the tingles you felt on your cheeks and the way your heartbeat picked up speed hearing your lover's laugh was all the more proof that maybe some things in life are best enjoyed with the company of someone you love.

you came to that realization slowly, and truthfully, your boyfriend found it cute how often you told him that you missed him or when you would send him a picture of something that brought back a memory of you two; he always did the same.

with the confirmation that your schedules lined up just enough for you two to meet at a nearby café in the afternoon, you found yourself hoping your eventful weekday would go by quicker, but not for the reason you used to wish for such.

days turned into hours, hours into minutes, then within seconds, you heard the bell chime from the cafe's entrance. you raise your head, knowing your boyfriend was close to the location from the constant updates he texted you.

the smile he sent you always gave you a different feeling than the one you'd see while video calling, you could see clearly as the corners of his eyes crinkle with joy as he approaches the table you had acquired for you both.

the café was serene, most people choosing to spend their weekends outside gave you and your boyfriend the benefit of relaxing in quiet, indoor spaces - most of the time, you preferred such anyways.

the minimal chatter of other café-goers and the sound of different drinks being brewed was enough to make your thirst all the more present. pushing away the thought, he sits in the chair across the table, the same handsome smile on his face that he greeted you with when you first met.

"sorry for being a bit late," he apologizes, and its then when you notice the slight pant in his voice. "last schedule ran a bit later than planned."

you shake your head, reassuring him that you're just glad to have this time with him. he smiles once more, leaning an elbows against the table and resting his chin in his palm as he looks at you.

"i'm glad to be here with you, too," he replies - the gaze he held with you was full of love and admiration. "do you want me to go order us something?"

you offer him a smile. "if it's not too much trouble for you," you say, tilting your head to the side as you watch him stand.

"it's never too much trouble if its for you," he says, stretching his long arms in front of him before making his way to the front counter, your order from previous meetings already engraved into his memory.

the bell chiming at the front door could be heard throughout the quaint café - pulling out your phone, you rest your forearms on the table while scrolling through various time-consuming apps as you wait for your lover to return.

though your attention was on your phone, the sound of approaching footsteps made you raise your head - the person in front of you wasn't your boyfriend, though. rather, they were a complete stranger to you.

"no-show date?" they ask, both hands buried into their zip-up jacket's pockets as they stood to the left of the chair across from you. "strange how that always happens to the most attractive people."

shaking your head quickly, you dismiss their claims. "not a no-show," you begin, but before you can elaborate that your boyfriend was just across the shop, the stranger interrupts you once more.

"so they just leave you here all alone, then?"

the persons assumptions made your skin begin to crawl, indirectly insulting your boyfriend's priorities as if they had any idea the ins and outs of your relationship - as if they were entitled to know.

you set your phone face-down on the table, leaning on your elbows as you spoke to them. "can you leave me alone?" you ask, tone coming off more stern rather than that of an inquiry. "why are you even talking to me anyway?"

"why are you replying?" they taunt, a distasteful grin growing on their face - your annoyance was entertaining to them.

from the other end of the shop, where your boyfriend was waiting patiently for your drinks to be made, his gaze falls back to the table he left you at. almost immediately, his eyes dart from the back of your head to the random person you seemed to be conversing with.

thinking nothing of it at first - maybe you just ran into an old friend - he continues to wait, but its only until you lean forward to talk to the stranger and the stranger smiles down at you that he feels his heart sink to his stomach.

there was something odd about the interaction, your previously relaxed demeanor was now tense as you continued to speak with the person. even when the barista called out his name, his eyes remained fixed on your table.

"sir?" someone calls out to him, quickly catching his attention long enough to grab the drinks and thank the worker - his steps felt heavy as he approached the table once more.

he was no lip reader, but as he made his way closer, he could make out some words - words that made his blood run cold.

"i'm just saying, i'd never leave you alone like this," the stranger says, their hands removing themselves from their pockets to lean against the table, holding their weight up by their palms. "why don't you let me take you out?"

his feet pick up pace just enough to reach the table before you could answer the person's question. knowing you'd brush the stranger away eases his mind, but the fact that this random person - who you obviously didn't know either - had the audacity to suggest such from you made him see red. within seconds, you can see your boyfriend standing beside you and staring down the uninvited person.

your belief that some things are best enjoyed alone was shattered once you met your boyfriend, but one belief that remained strong was its additional counterpart: three is definitely a crowd.

💭 001 : JUNG HAEMIN !

haemin was never one for confrontation - you've known that since you met him, so his sudden appearance next to you and eyes pointed in the direction of the stranger was a sight you weren't used to.

feigning obliviousness as to why this person was at the table, he spoke up. "who's this, babe?"

the sudden use of the pet name made you look up at him questioningly - haemin wasn't fond of using them in public, but knowing he's using one now to establish himself as your boyfriend makes your heart skip a beat.

"i'm not sure," you answer honestly, eyes shifting back to the person leaning on the other end of the table. upon hearing this, haemin continues with whatever act he was putting on, even though his skin was crawling from thinking they had tried to court you so openly.

"is there something i can help you with?" he asks with the most polite tone he could muster - you could see right through it, not to mention they way his stance was tense. the stranger simply looks between you and haemin, eyes flicking back and forth a few times before they let out a sigh, pushing themselves off of the table.

"not anymore," they spit, shoving their hands back into their pockets before turning and walking in the opposite direction. you didn't get a chance to make sure they were out of sight before haemin returns to his place across from you, setting your drink down in front of you with a soft smile on his face.

"thank you for saving me, babe," you tease in an attempt to brighten the atmosphere - you're grateful it worked. haemin's hand shoots to cover his mouth, his smile hiding behind it as he pokes his drink with his straw.

he shakes his head, lowering his hand to grab at his drink. "i barely did anything," haemin breaks eye contact with you as he takes a sip. "they barely put up a fight - could sense the jealousy in my eyes."

your brows furrow as his eyes meet his again. "you were jealous?"

you didn't realize?

haemin can manage his emotions well. with his tall build and stoic nature, it probably was difficult for others to read his emotion, hence your confusion and the strangers quick departure.

thinking back on how he probably looked to the random person, he cringes when he imagines himself seeming more fearful rather than threatening and the stranger leaving out of pity rather than panic. haemin lets out an embarrassed groan, both hands now leaving his cup to cover his face to hide his flushed cheeks.

"why're you hiding?" you giggle, leaning forward on the table and grabbing at his wrists softly, prying them away from his face. "you don't have to be embarrassed about anything, haem," you comfort, your thumbs sliding over his knuckles gently.

he drops his head onto his forearms, a soft pink dusting high on his cheekbones as he replays the situation over again in his head.

"if it makes you feel any better, i think what you did was really sweet."

although haemin would probably never admit it to you, hearing you say those words as you play with his fingers made butterflies swell in his chest.

💭 002 : CHO KYUNGMIN !

kyungmin - before thinking of any possible consequences - finds himself brushing past the stranger, seemingly ignoring their looming stance over the table as he passes you the drink you requested.

you watch his action with a confused tilt of your head - you're sure the stranger saw it, too. kyungmin continued as normal across from you, pretending there was not a physical barrier from beside him partially impairing his view of you.

he seemed so unbothered, you almost wanted to laugh. watching as the stranger pushes up from their spot, their eyes land on to the top of kyungmin's head - he paid them no mind, keeping his attention on you.

"did i order the right one?" he asks, eyebrows raising slightly at his inquiry.

"yes, thank you," you reply, knowing he knew your order by heart - he never got it wrong; the question was meant to deter the stranger. instead, they continue to hover your table, causing kyungmin to let out a self-soothing sigh, controlling his minimal patience before finally meeting the eyes of the person.

you watch your boyfriend's eyes flick up, the stranger looming over you both was quick to catch his gaze. "is there a reason you're here?" kyungmin says bluntly - his tone takes you by surprise, his usual shy and soft exterior replaced with one of straight-forwardness.

it seems the person picks up on the suddenly dense atmosphere, quickly shaking their head negatively and muttering a small "no" in reply to your lover, hands finding their way back into their pockets before they turn to take their leave.

it was almost humorous how quickly kyungmin's demeanor changed after that - finding your eyes and immediately the crease between his brows softened and his lips curled into a smile. "they weren't super pushy were they?" he asks, his tone apologetic as he tried to read your face for any discomfort.

"they weren't awful," you reply, breaking eye contact as your thumb rubs the side of your cup - your boyfriend knew you well enough to know you weren't being 100% open. ". . . but still not great," you finish, bringing your cup to your lips to try and ease the uncomfortable feeling settling in your chest.

"i'm sorry i wasn't here sooner," he apologizes, and before you're able to tell him he has nothing to apologize for, he continues. "i'll do what i can to make sure you aren't in that position again."

the feeling in your chest is quickly replaced with one of warmth - a genuine feeling of admiration for the boy who sat across from you with a gleeful smile and a sparkle in his eyes.

"thank you, min," and while kyungmin felt you had no reason to thank him - that it was expected of him to take care of you - he knows you'd insist he's worthy of being thanked. letting the argument die in his throat before he had the chance to say it, he offers you the softest smile he's ever worn.

"anything for you."

I don’t really peg Jaeyun as a concrete sub or dom, I think he’d fall slightly more on the vanilla side, he enjoys the intimacy of sex and the concept of pleasuring your partner to such otherworldly extents and doing anything to fulfil that, and having the same done for him, but occasionally he’ll indulge you and play a little into the roles given. KYUNGMIN looked at the time inside the practice room and had noticed that it was already 11 PM. He sighed frustratingly and hurried to pack his things. He’s the only one left in the said room so he’s the one who turned off everything and closed up. Rushing to the elevator, he held his bag tightly in order for it to not fall out of his grasp

“Wait! Please hold the door!” He shouted out to the person inside the elevator but it was too late, thus, he made a detour and ran to the stairs that was on the other side of the building. He saw the flight of stairs while catching his breath from running and sighed deeply before running down

“Shit!” He cursed out loud after almost falling down before continuing his run for the HYBE Building main door

As he was about to run home to his apartment, he heard someone call his name “Kyungmin!!” He turned around and saw his senior, Seungkwan

“Ah, senior!” He greeted enthusiastically albeit heaving deeply “Why are you out of breath?” The older asked, “Ah, well, I need to rush home so…” Still catching his breath, he smiled to his senior “Let me give you a ride” Seungkwan offered “Is it okay?” Seungkwan nodded and Kyungmin followed him to his car

The car ride was full of laughs and conversation, and when Seungkwan found the right time to ask, he did, “Why were you running home?” He asked, swerving with one hand “Ah, well… my girlfriend” Kyungmin whispered out, feeling bashful as he massaged his ear. Seungkwan didn’t quite catch it though, much to Kyungmin’s dismay

“What was that?” Seungkwan asked again “Well, my girlfriend is waiting and we talked about coming home late when we don’t really have a packed schedule” The blonde admitted with a timid voice and Seungkwan laughed “You’re so cute, don’t take my laugh the wrong way. You just remind me of myself because my girlfriend is also like that” Seungkwan said with a laugh making Kyungmin do so as well

They reached Kyungmin’s apartment and the aforementioned bowed 90 degrees while thanking Seungkwan “Make sure to be extra loving to your girlfriend” Seungkwan teased before leaving, Kyungmin blushed and went up to their unit

Kyungmin unlocked the door and saw his girlfriend sitting on the living room watching TV… and she looked pissed. He gulped before setting down his bag and sitting next to her “‘m sorry” he said immediately but received no response

“Baby?” Nothing

“Love?” Nothing

“Sweetie?” Nothing

“Honey?” Still nothing

He had tried every corny call signs he could think of but he still received no response. She had stood up and walked to the kitchen and he followed; like a baby duck following the mother duck all while holding the hem of her shirt

She placed take outs on the table, slightly slamming it “Eat before sleeping” and left to go to their shared bedroom. Frowning, Kyungmin followed her inside and saw her tucking herself “Love…” he whined out, snuggling next to her and spooning her; he kept placing kisses on her cheeks, trying to be extra loving like how Seungkwan said

“I’m sorry, baby. I didn’t notice the time and I forgot to call you. I was so focused on practicing because I wanted to perfect our new choreography for our Comeback Show at Inkigayo. I know I should’ve called your first and I know I made you worried, I saw your 53 missed calls,” he said with a small smile

“I’m really sorry, baby. I promise I won’t ever do it again” he kissed her cheek one last time and heard her sniff “You crying?” “It’s just… I thought something happened to you” she said, wiping her tears before facing and hugging him, her face buried deep into his chest “Please call me first next time, I was so worried” he kissed the top of her head before caressing it and she continued to cry “I know, I’m sorry, it won’t happen again”
