I’ve been thinking about why people don’t know even the faintest details about Iraqi culture (like these simple pronunciations), and I think a big reason is bc we don’t really have any Iraqi representation yet in mainstream media. It’s not like there’s an Iraqi main pop girl or an Iraqi model or an Iraqi actress who’s getting any Emmys rn, and as unfortunate as that is, western culture does tend to be synonymous with the global zeitgeist in a way other cultures aren’t. People just haven’t been incentivized to dig into Arab culture in general bc of this “deficiency,” for the lack of a better term.

I feel like a lot of other ethnicities have had their turn in terms of being at the top of pop culture, but I haven’t seen that happen yet w any Arabs. If a prominent Arab celebrity (let alone an Iraqi one!! I’d legit just be happy w an Arab one) existed, maybe Arab culture would be of more interest to the GP (or just less of a lightning rod for unfounded criticism and ridicule) 🤷‍♀️

Sure, Anon. I have a few.

For being in only 2 episodes, Lucifer does steal the spotlight for me when he shows up. He’s my favourite adaptation of the Devil, like the Lucifer show is cool, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’s version is pretty much a creep with the standard evil portrayal that we’re all aware of when it comes to Lucifer/Satan/the Devil and all that. Those are the ones I’m familiar with. But Hazbin Hotel’s Lucifer is very unique and interesting.

Before the show came out a majority of the fandom thought he was strict, cold, wicked and more among those lines, especially an absentee because of Charlie’s dream, but we’re all proven wrong. He’s silly and goofy, an actual loving father, loves ducks which seems to be from the Ugly Duckling story. The fact that he isn’t sinister because he rules Hell and all evil, but a family guy who got shunned and doesn’t like sinners because they turned evil themselves for the freedom he gave them to do good is so intriguing and quite sad. He’s such a fun character to watch when he’s on screen. And the finale where he helps rebuild the hotel with Charlie is sweet.

Alastor is always the fan favorite for how the audience knows immediately that he’s cruel, pretty much a sociopath, sadistic, a cannibal serial killer, but he’s entertaining for his personality and how different and mysterious he is compared to the rest of the cast. A real example of a demon in Hell. I’ve watched Hunicast and it’s amusing to hear him tell dad jokes and be witty and everything. His relationships with Rosie and Niffty appear a lot more genuine than others. For his name to be Alastor and be the opposite of what it means is unique. He’s truly an interesting character and his secrets make it even more so.

Husk is a favourite, too. Especially after Loser Baby with Angel Dust, their dynamic with each other got better and the bond they have from it is nice

There are sponsors, teams, money involved and if the driver doesn't deliver results, you need to do changes. I work in this industry and sadly this is how it works, like other sports too.

I get that too, anon. I'm not arguing that. I'm not naive about the how's and why's about this happening or even really surprised by it or when any team does it.

I just think there were things Williams handled badly throughout the last two years in terms of Logan, and that's all I was commenting on.

I've been watching this sport for years, so I'm used to these kind of things.

And I feel for Colapinto because he's another rookie being rushed through he ranks, even if it's just for a few races, and he's going to be expected to pull miracles without a lot of experience in the car.

I get teams wanting the best and wanting the points, and the business aspect, it just sucks sometimes, that's all I was trying to say.

Does anyone remember those DVD Scene Commentaries that had Chucky commentating over scenes of the first Child's Play movie?

God I love those things so much, they're actually really good at keeping Chucky in character but still fun

My favorite was when he was accompanied by Don Mancini on there and they were bouncing off each other like two old friends that bicker with each other (sadly it's not on YouTube anymore)
