You know, I'm never letting those fucking cops who parked their car with a lady in it on the train tracks and it got hit by a train live that down (thankfully she lived)
Anytime I see train tracks I tell whoever's with me that they need to pull over to the perfect parking spot, that they need to think like a cop
I will never stop making fun of them for it, not even because it's funny, but because fuck them, they were so stupid they nearly killed someone and it's only good fortune that saved her from them. I legitimately don't know how they manage to remember to breath while being that stupid
#like the rails they parked her on go right along the highway I usually take anytime I need to go anywhere#those are not abandoned rails; there's a train pretty much every time I go along it; at least one#I legit wouldn't be surprised if it's one of the most heavily trafficked lines in the state#they 100% knew that trains went along there if they were with that town; cause the tracks cut through it#it is impossible for them not to understand that; and I don't understand how any adult can not understand train tracks = danger#I get a few people don't get that... but maybe a cop shouldn't be one of them (I get the standards are low)#unless it says the track is decommissioned (however it's phrased; I forget); you never ever ever ever stop on it; always before or behind i#so the cops should have known it was active and they should have known... not to park on a fucking train track#so... so I can't tell if they're so stupid they literally need medical care because they're non fucking functional with their stupid#or if they were setting up the most elaborate murder attempt against a random lady#cause I don't see how it's any other option and neither of those makes much sense#...what do you bet they got qualified immunity#'nowhere does it explicitly say cops can leave you on train tracks and fail to even try to save you'#they should either be in a institutional setting because they legit are stupid to a degree that impairs their ability to function#or they should be in jail because that's still true about them; but they also attempted murder in a real stupid way#fucking hate cops honestly; zero respect for most of them#and the good ones get driven out; whole system needs to be pulled up by the roots

Widow would be the one to not care much, at first at least, if it's something small like the flu. She'll just quietly make sure that you're getting the rest you need.
She swears up and down that she only does this because if you're sick then you're a burden but you know better than anyone that deep down she's just a softie.
If it's something more serious, she will start to get nervous, though she'd never show it on the outside. It's been a while since she got sick herself, Moira's experiments made her practically immune, so she's forgotten much about what it's like to be sick.
She might not be qualified to take care of you physically but during the time you're sick the usually cold assassin turns into a loving ballerina. She'll be by your side the entire time making sure that you have every one of your needs met.
• Mercy •
She will feel slightly guilty at first. As a doctor you'd think her girlfriend wouldn't be getting sick but she understands that sometimes catching a cold is normal.
She would act more like your doctor than your girlfriend during the time that you're sick. She'd give you the medication you need and make sure that you're getting more than enough rest. Though she wouldn't forget about giving you affection either, as long as close contact is safe though.
In the case that your illness is more serious, Angela would be getting eaten away by her own nervousness. She knows everything about your condition, given that she made sure she'll be your doctor the second she found out, but now she doesn't know if that's for the best or for the worst.
Of course everything turns out okay because Angela is Angela but it was still a big scare for her. Soon enough she'll have a list of do-s and don't-s to make sure you never get this sick again.
• Ashe •
The moment she sees you show the tiniest symptom of illness get ready to be relentlessly pampered until she's 100% sure that you're okay.
Elizabeth's childhood was full of neglect so even when it comes to something silly like a small sickness she wants you to know that she's going to always stay by your side and take care of you.
She'll order Bob to act like your personal butler untill you're okay. Of course, Bob doesn't mind, he loves you and he knows Elizabeth only did this because she trusts him to take care of you.
If it's something more serious you bet Elizabeth will get you the most expensive treatment possible. She doesn't care if she gives up all of the gang's profits, you're way more important than that to her. She'll try to hide how worried she is because she needs to be there for you.

Exclusive — Jesse Jensen: ‘If You Fire Nancy Pelosi,’ U.S. Is ‘Back to a Better Way of Life’
Jesse Jensen, a former Army Ranger, is currently looking to unseat radical Democrat Rep. Kim Schrier (WA) in the midterms, told SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Saturday this weekend that he will flip Washington’s Eighth Congressional District to Republican in the upcoming midterms and fight Schrier and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).
Jensen previously ran against Schrier, coming within a few percentage points of winning the district last year. Earlier this month, he announced his candidacy to run again against Schrier, hoping to unseat her and take back the majority in the House to fight Pelosi.
Host Matthew Boyle, Breitbart News’s Washington Political Editor, asked Jensen about his service and how the former Army Ranger completed the training with a fracture which unfortunately led to a broken leg. Jensen jokingly mentioned that he was a strong ranger and not a smart ranger. However, he said joining special forces put him on the trajectory to be deployed to Afghanistan four times, where he received two bronze stars for his service.
Jensen said that alone shows the major differences between Schrier and himself. He said, during the Chinese coronavirus pandemic, Schrier “refused to go to D.C. during Covid, she invoked her proxy vote, she gave her proxy votes to Nancy Pelosi and didn’t vote in person for the payroll protection program.” He said if you wanted to equate that to himself, that would be like “going in front of my troops and saying, ‘Hey guys, I want you to go out inside America’s wars, I’m gonna stay here, and I’ll give my proxy votes to the platoon sergeant.'” Jensen said he was always the first person out of the helicopter and the one running towards the fight, not away from it.
Boyle asked Jensen to talk more about his life growing up and becoming the first in his family to graduate from college, being able to afford college due to his grandfather co-signing on his student loans, and later joining the military. Boyle asked why he decided to enlist in the army later in life after college and after joining the work force instead of before.
“I was actually working on Capitol Hill, and I was driving a U.S. senator to Walter Reed, and we met a young man who had stepped on an IED and sadly lost both his legs and was catastrophically burned,” Jensen explained. The wounded soldier “looked the Senator and myself in the eye said, ‘Gentleman, the only thing I wanna do is go back to Iraq and be with my guys.’” Jensen called that a gut punch and a wakeup call, explaining that three months later he was in South Carolina for basic training.
Jensen said growing up, he was on the edge of working-class poverty. “I grew up on the working of the edge of working-class poverty. The way that my dad got through the day was from venison, from deer meat, that was donated by his congregation. And this is the American dream. You can pull yourself up, and you’ve got the Democrats that are raising inflation, raising your taxes. My opponent reports a Washington state income tax, and you bet she’s gonna increase your taxes in Washington, DC.”
He said running is like a call to service, and he hears that call again. He said, “This is actually my second time running. The last time we came within seven thousand votes of winning the entire thing, and the reason for that was we talked about service and leadership. We talked about getting stuff done, and I was out-raised five to one out-spent ten to one. It’s gonna be different this time.”
Boyle mentioned that the district he’s running in is where the defund of the police movement started as it is the home to the CHAZ/CHOP zone, and Schrier, his opponent, is a radical, lawless leftist.
“Not only has she defunded the police,” he explained. “She actually cut millions of dollars from the COPS grant last year, both, so she literally voted at the federal level to defund the police, but then, she voted for $1.9 million more for increased security for herself at the Capitol. It’s insane.” Jensen dubbed it his opponent’s “rules for thee, not for me” mentality. Jensen again mentioned that during the Chinese coronavirus, she voted by proxy but wants everyone else to do their jobs.
When talking about the CHAZ/CHOP zone, Jensen said he toured the area and talked to people inside. “I talked to a guy who was armed, wearing this crazy Halloween costume, and he was claiming to be a security force” to protect the people inside. When asked if they were willing to shoot and kill police who try and enter, Jensen said the guy would not comment. However, Jensen said that the left hates the border wall, checking IDs, and guns, but when he went inside this zone, they checked IDs, had a border wall, and all held guns.
He said it is incredible that his opponent is trying to make everywhere less safe by defunding the police. Jensen mentioned that Schrier went on a ride-along with the local police to “try and increase her image” and asked them, “What’s all this with the qualified immunity and use of force.” Jensen said the she had no idea removing qualified immunity “would require police officers to essentially get malpractice insurance” and would cause huge exits from the force, which are already happening.
Boyle asked what the difference will be for Washington’s Eighth Congressional District and the country if the Republicans take the House and Pelosi is out of the speakership.
“Well, your taxes won’t go up, for one. Inflation will go down and Critical Race Theory won’t be taught in your classrooms. The list goes on and on, we’ll have the economy be better, we’ll have a more secure border, and law and order will be essentially established,” Jensen said. He also mentioned that his local grocery store has its deli shut down because the store is unable to find anyone to work. He said that even a local trucking company has “200 applications for dock workers, four people actually showed up.”
Jensen told Boyle that it is “Amazing people are gaming in the system, they’re applying for these jobs so that they can keep the generous unemployment that’s paying them more than minimum wage to stay home so that they don’t have to work. These are the kind of policies that hurt small businesses. These are the kinds of policies that hurt workers. These are the kinds of policies that make us less safe, and it’s all thanks to the Democrats. If you fire Nancy Pelosi… we’re back to a better way of life.”

I bet that anyone would be quite happy with the returns, with the coin price having increased beyond double from its value of about $2,000 in May 2017 to the current November 2018 prices of around $4,000.

Is the current price tag of Bitcoin turning you away? Well, think again and remember even if Bitcoin’s not cheap, other cryptocurrencies are.
The most important question is not whether or not cryptocurrency is cheap, but will it have appreciated in value a decade later?
If you believe Bitcoin’s price will be in the range of $10,000, $100,000 or $1 million, then the coin is damn cheap today!
While you may not be that guy who spent $100 in 2010 and now has a net worth of $7.4 million, you can still take the advice provided by Wences Casare, PayPal board member that you “put 1 percent of your income into Bitcoin and forget about it for ten years.”
#5. Bitcoin Is Highly Resilient
Bitcoin is huge and the news of its death as highlighted in the 2013 smug LA Times article was premature, given that the coin is aging well.
While the Bitcoin market has faced some tumultuous times, like earlier in the decade when it lost about 70 per cent of its value overnight, the coin has recovered — along with other cryptocurrencies. Realistically, the thought of Bitcoin fading away is impossible as long as the concept of cryptocurrency still exists.

You can use cryptocurrency on the online ecommerce marketplace, Overstock. Restaurants in Kenya and Silicon Valley will accept and give you a discount for using it. You can also buy your Sacramento Kings tickets with it.
Some of the biggest companies on the planet like Microsoft, Dell, Tesla and Virgin Galactic are accepting Bitcoin. And why not? Its price is likely to be more tomorrow than it is today.
BitPay, a global payment company is already working with over 125,000 merchants across the globe that accept Bitcoin as a medium of exchange. The company goes a notch higher to allow Bitcoin users to hold a Bitcoin Visa credit card which enables users to transact anywhere this Visa is accepted.
In essence, the fiction that “you can’t use Bitcoin to buy anything” is a fallacy, not a fact. Of course, We don’t expect you to hit your grocery store with it now, but you might be interested in knowing that a guy purchased a house with Bitcoin and made a $1.3 million return on the deal.
#7. Supporting Technology

Henrik’s First PTA Meeting
HI YES, ME AND MY FRIEND @novelistgeek FUCKING HATE ANTI-VAXXERS, SO HAVE A FIC OF HENRIK AND CHASE GOING OFF ON ONE.
My friend Nove and I wrote this to say fuck you to anti-vaxxers, they wrote Henrik’s dialogue and every other line, and I wrote Susan’s, and Chases' dialogue, and every other line.

There’s a clamor in the PTA room as all the parents called for one man to pay for his crimes. Said man stood there, his lips in a tight line, and his colleague next to him praying for their success.
Henrik walked up to the mic and tapped it lightly before clearing his throat. Chase gave a thumbs-up as he started to speak. “So I realize you’re all here for one reason-”
Henrik glanced to his right; an enraged man with too red a face was glaring at him. He smiled and waved at him slightly before continuing. “And I realize you all probably want me dead. But let me say one thing: you’re welcome for saving all of your kids.”
Susan, the known bitch, then stood up; a lopsided conceited smirk sitting on her face.
“I’m sorry, you did not, save our kids, you have, in fact, put them in severe danger!”
“Oh, really, Susan? Of course, you’d say that. And, maybe, do you have any fact to back up your statement. Because I have a whole fucking powerpoint to back up mine.” The dangling remote in his hand and the already turned on projector proved this point.
“You know what, Schneeplefuck? I do have facts to back up my statement!” Her arms crossed over her chest; Chase was almost laughing in the background. “There was this article that I read that said vaccines contain MSG, antifreeze, phenol, aluminum, lead, and mercury!”
A low murmur floated around the room, nods of agreement came from some of the other moms.
Henrik rolls his eyes and, with a sigh, mutters, “Yeah, but do you happen to know how much of each of those ‘toxic chemicals’ is in these vaccines? Because, when it really comes down to it, the difference between medicine or poison is the dosage.”
Chase was now snickering and jumped up on the stage to high five his boyfriend. Henrik high fives him back with a smirk as unhappy mumbles break out through the crowd. Susan blinks slowly before fumbling for some notecards in her purse. She goes through them before stopping at another and clearing her throat.
“What about vaccines causing allergies? My second cousin’s kid got vaccines, and now she has a nut allergy! Explain that one!”
“So, maybe you remember this from your elementary science class, but causation does not equate correlation. Just because it seems like it was caused by it doesn’t mean it actually was. In fact-” He clicked a button and a slide popped up on the screen showing a staggering amount of data. “There was a study done in 1997 that showed that vaccines actually have the reverse effect. So, maybe, she was just destined to have it from the start.”
Susan scoffed, flipping through her notecards. “How bad are the diseases these vaccines are ‘preventing’,” Her fingers bent in air quotation marks, “anyways? If my kid gets measles, it can’t be that bad! He’ll live! He’s a tough cookie!”
“Plenty of ‘tough cookies’ have died before from what you and your breed would qualify as unimportant and not dangerous diseases. Are you really willing to put your kid’s life on the line just for your morals?”
“Well you still haven’t covered -” Her face scrunched up in disgust, “Autism. I heard Mr. Brody’s kid has it, and I’m pretty sure that’s from vaccines.” Chase’s head perked up, his finger already wagging in her direction.
“Listen, bitch, my kid may have autism, but it sure as hell is not from vaccines. You act like it’s some untreatable disease! My daughter is not a fucking burden- you know what? Henrik, hand me the powerpoint, I got this one.”
Henrik delivered him the remote, a proud smirk on his face.
“I bet you got that conspiracy theory from an article? An article was written in the late 1990s, claiming that vaccines cause autism! Which is bullshit, by the way-” He clicked a button, the next page of the slide showing a picture of the very article, “It said that there was some sort of connection between the measles, mumps, and rubella, or MMR vaccine caused malabsorption of nutrients in the gut, which apparently lead to more cases of autistic children.”
Susan looked as if she had just won something.
“But! This study was later proven to be illicit and disproven by 25 other international research papers. So in other words, fuck you.”
Scattered gasps and some applause was heard around the room. Chase dropped the mic, which caused screeching feedback to erupt from it. But he didn’t care. He just said the world's biggest fuck you to an anti-vaxxer.
Henrik laughs softly and kisses his forehead before gently taking the remote back from the floor. “Now, does anyone else have anything to say?”
Susan was running dry. Her notecards weren’t helping anymore, and she seemed to be fucked. But she had one other thing up her sleeve.
“It’s up to the parent whether they want to vaccinate their kid or not! I know my baby better than anyone else, so if I say no vaccine, there will be no vaccine!”
“So you’re willing to threaten those with weakened immunity systems just because you ‘believe’ your kid won’t get sick? What about those who can’t handle getting vaccines at all? Like those undergoing chemotherapy. What if you decide to visit your parents while your kid is carrying some of the symptoms? You need to see that this doesn’t just affect you, Susan. We can’t always be selfish, even if that seems to be your only policy in life.” He clicks the machine off with a slight shrug. “But if all of this doesn’t convince you then I suppose there’s nothing I can do. But, believe me, your kids will thank you later if you listen to me.”
She growled in frustration, another mom came up to her and placed her hand on her shoulder.
“You should stop, honey. No one wants to hear it.”
“Fuck yes, Karen, tell her!” Chase shouted from the peanut gallery.
Henrik planted his hands on his hips; a content expression resting on his face. What a successful first PTA meeting.

Leon watched as the last sliver of bright light faded when stone re-obscured the hidden room.
"I think I'm ready to get patched up" you said to Leon. "Since we're safe now" Leon glanced at you in the dim light. Your eyes were still red from crying, but your voice felt cold and detached.
"Of course."
There was a mahogany desk in the small, circular room, and you laid your back against it. Leon searched through the many pockets on his uniform for the first aid kit; a sigh of relief escaped his lips when he finally found it. He sat across from you, preparing the materials. You paid him no mind. You looked around the room, glancing at the bookshelves and sculptures, doing anything to distract you from the lead weight in your heart. There were no more tears left; the few you shed moments earlier were all you had. Now you were filled with a feeling of emptiness, of purposelessness. A strong burning sensation took you out of your thoughts.
"Ouch!" You yelped as Leon pressed an alcohol covered cloth to your wound.
"Sorry, should've warned you." He replied, his breath in your ear. You hadn't realized how close he was until now, when all you could feel was the hot breath on your neck. You two stayed silent for a while; Leon was focused on your wound and you were trying to ignoring his proximity.
"I'm sorry for snapping at you earlier," You began, "Twice." He let out a weak laugh, still cleaning up your wound. His hands were gentle, touching you as if you were glass.
"You don't have to apologize," He paused, "I know this has been a lot for you. And to be honest, I probably would have done the same." He hesitated, “You aren’t gonna turn all zombified on me, right?”
“I don’t think so. Found out earlier this week that some people are immune, and I’m one of them.”
“How confident are you in that?” He asked.
“Completely.” You said, pulling up your left pant leg. On the back of your calf was a red, scabby bite mark. “I got this one four-maybe five days ago. I was never infected by the water either, and symptoms usually develop immediately.”
“Thank God.” Leon said under his breath. The two of you fell into silence once again, but not for long. There was something about his presence that made you open up, maybe it because he's seen all sides of you in such a short time, or maybe it was something else.
"Y'know" you started, still trying to put your thoughts together. "All I wanted was to be a good officer. I wanted to make everyone proud, and I wanted them to stop calling me rookie." You paused, looking Leon in the eyes. "I think deep down I've just wanted to prove myself capable, but for what? There's no one left now, no one to please. All I fought for was them, and now..." your voice faded. "and now I don't know what to do." Leon was stunned. At first, he didn't know how to reply. He gathered the right words and spoke up.
“Nonsense" he looked into your eyes. "You've still got to train me, and I think you're qualified to do it."
“Leon..." you looked away from him. "The Raccoon City Police Department died. There's no more officers, no more rules, it's all gone."
"Does that mean I've been let go my first day on the job?" He asked, still trying to lighten the mood. You admired that about him.
"You're funny" he finished wrapping your shoulder and moved to sit beside you, his back leaning against the desk. "Y'know..." You paused, taking a breath, "You were gonna be my partner, and I was so excited about it because it meant I wasn't the rookie anymore. I wondered what you'd be like, or if we'd get along." you ran a hand through your hair. "Now that I know we do, every part of me wishes that would have happened."
"Me too." He exhaled, pulling his knees up to his chest. "Both of us wanted to prove ourselves." You looked up at him as he paused. "I always dreamed of being a cop, but I guess that died too." You grabbed his hand in your own.
"I bet we can both find another police station to work at," you reassure him. He gave a sad smile.
"I don't know if I can go back to a normal job after this. They wouldn't understand."
You hadn't thought about it that way. You knew the outbreak was only local but did other areas even know about it? Would you have to live your life carrying the weight of a tragedy that never made the news? You stayed silent for a moment, thinking through your future, if you even had one.
"We should apply together. Then we could be there for each other." He heard you but stayed silent for a while, seemingly in thought. Then, he rose from the ground.
"If you're feeling better now maybe we should get going." He said as held his hand out to you. Grasping it, you got up and dusted off your pants. The two of you walked into the eerie elevator connected to the room, pressing the only button on the wall. The fence door closed and the elevator started down.
The city itself was terrifying, but what was under it was even more so. You had seen zombies in the city, but you saw experiments below the city. William Birkin, as you'd later find out, was your first monster encounter underground. He hunted you down through the maze-like passages of the facility, all of his humanity gone. Meeting him littered both yours and Leon's bodies with bruises and cuts, but you both somehow survived the encounter. Umbrella was the driving force of this city, but it also looked to be its demise. As much as you wanted to believe the company was good, with all of their charitable actions, evidence you found underground proved otherwise. You and Leon pushed through the underground passages, finding a ladder that led back up to the surface.
Leon lifted the drain cover up with one hand and held on to the ladder with the other. A small ray of light got bigger as he moved the drain cover more. Above him was the parking garage in disarray. He pushed the cover over and hoisted himself up onto the pavement. Many cars were crashed and abandoned, there were a few blood trails and puddles around. It painted a picture of the carnage that took place just days before. Leon scanned the garage for any signs of life, or more fitting, signs of the dead. He turned on his heels, shielding his eyes from the headlights of a car parked against a fence. The coast was clear. Metal clanked from the drain as you climbed up the ladder to join him.
"Is this the only exit?" Leon asked.
"Unfortunately." You scanned the parking garage, "And I don't have a key, so I don't know how we're gonna get out."
"Do you know where to get one?"
"Irons might have one." You hissed his name.
"He's the police cheif. He ran and hid like a coward when this broke out." Leon's eyes widened. Chief Irons was well known in the Arklay mountain region; he was a well respected figure.
"Well-uh, I'm sure he had a reason for it. I heard he was a hero." He stammered. You laughed.
"That man was not a hero. He took credit for what everyone else did. Chief Irons was a waste of space."
“Maybe you don't know the whole story." He replied. You looked back at Leon, a slight scowl forming on your face.
"Why are you defending him? You don't even know him,” a hair-raising growl silenced your argument. You looked at the dark, slender four-legged creature creeping up behind Leon. Leon's eyes grew wide as he turned around to look at the creature. The motion caused the half-rotten police dog to charge at him. The dog jumped on him, taking him to the ground. Leon struggled to keep the dogs sharp fangs away from his neck. You aimed your gun at the dog's head and pulled the trigged. No bullet came out. You cursed under your breath and you searched your pockets for more rounds.
"Take mine!" Leon yelled. His gun was on the ground, just a few feet out of his own reach. Before you could pick it up, though, another gun went off. The dog dropped to the ground next to Leon.
"Hey," A voice called. Leon looked toward the figure. "Stay sharp." Then, the growling started again. With Leon's gun, you shot the zombie dog in the head. A woman approached, her heels clicked on the ground as she got closer. You pointed you gun at her, and she with you. "Lower it." She sneered. Then, she held out an FBI badge. Hesitantly, you tossed the gun back toward Leon.
"Thank you," Leon told the woman, "For your help."
"I'm surprised you made it this far," The mysterious woman spoke. She then turned around and walked away.
"FBI huh, then what's going on here?" Leon rose from the ground and followed her.
“That information is classified,"
"Where are you going?" You asked her. She stopped and turned around, only for a moment.
"Do yourself a favor: stop asking questions and get the hell out of here." And with that, she walked away.
"Hey, I'm not done talking to you!" Leon called, but the woman didn't look back as she walked through a doorway at the end of the parking garage. Leon looked over to you, confused at the woman's actions.
“I think that's where Iron's office is supposed to be." You said, pointing at the doorway the mysterious woman walked through. In truth, you didn't know where it was, only that it was connected to the garage. In your whole year of working at the RPD, you rarely visited the lowest floor.
"Do you think she wants anything from him?"
“I hope so. I hope she arrests that scumbag. And I want to be there when she does it."
The doorway she walked through did not lead to check iron's office. Instead, it lead to the jail. You and Leon walked through the corridor as zombies scratched at their cell bars. Leon flashed his flashlight through each cell, becoming more horrified at the monsters looking back at him.
"What would she be doing down here?" You asked.
"I have no idea."
You continued down the hall, almost reaching the end, when an unfamiliar voice called out from a cell.
"Hello?" It was a man, leaning forward on his bed, a cigarette in between his fingers.
"Hey." Leon said back. The man got up from his bed, smiling.
"I can't believe it. Real humans!" He walked over to the bars. "Hello humans."
"How long have you been in there?"
"Long enough. Are we the last ones alive?"
"No, no. There's a few of us."
"Oh, that's good news I guess." The man exhaled. "Unless of course Irons sent you."
"What do you know about Irons? Is he still alive?" You chimed in.
"Who cares. Hopefully he's somebody's dinner by now." You laughed at that. "He locked me in here!"
"I'm sure he had a good reason." Leon added.
“He did." The man took a puff from his cigarette, then tossed it on the floor and stomped out the ember. "I was about to blow the whistle on him. He's corrupt, Y'know? But I guess I would have done the same thing if I were him." A loud creaking noise silenced the three of you. It started at the end of the hall, and sounded as if it were coming closer. The man in his cell suddenly became desperate. "Look. I'll make you a deal. Unlock this cell and I'll give you this." He held out a garage key connected to the lanyard on his neck. "There's no other way out of that parking garage. Believe me." You walked over toward the lock, but Leon pulled you back.
"You aren't actually gonna let this guy out, are you? He's a criminal, and I just don't trust his story." Leon said quietly to you. You looked up at him, shaking your arm out of his grasp.
"Well I believe his story, and he's got a key for us to get out. We won’t have to look for Irons anymore.”
"But we’re officers, Y/N, we still have to follow the rules.”
"Look, Leon, There are only a handful of people left in the city. The law is dead. The RPD is dead. And if he tries something, we're both capable of taking him out." The creaking got louder, closer, and the man in the cell became more anxious.
"I still want to talk to the chief first."
“Look, we're all prisoners in this station. So either we play nice and help each other out or-" The man stopped mid sentence, the creaking now just feet away. "It's coming."
"What- what's coming?" Leon asked, his hands grabbing onto the bars of the cell. The man backed away and onto the farthest wall. You frantically tried the many keys you had collected so far.
"Cmon, don't be a jerk... Ok? You need this!" The man held up the key card. "Just get me the hell out of here!"
Bricks and rubble were thrown around the cell as a hand, larger than any human hand, broke through the wall. It grasped around the man's head, lifting him up from the ground. He screamed, his limbs flailing wildly. With one squeeze, the hand squished the man's skull and blood sprayed the cell. You could feel a few drops speckle your face. Then, the hand released the man and disappeared behind the wall.

Hello friends, I not only translated from Spanish my MP100/GO crossover, I expanded it a bit
The one where Mob is the Antichrist (WIP)
As it happens with all important projects, when the moment to set the apocalypse into motion arrived, the infernal powers appointed (or may be, sentenced) a committee to oversee all details, and as it happens with all committees, no one ever agreed on anything and only one person (or in this case, being) did all the work[1].
In another world, the unfortunate sap in charge of the allocation of a human family for the Adversary, Destroyer of Kings, Angel of the Bottomless Pit, Great Beast that is called Dragon, Prince of This World, Father of Lies, Spawn of Satan and Lord of Darkness, chose the family of the American Cultural Attaché in the United Kingdom as the best suited for the task, and then devised an ingenious plan (for a demon) where all the actual planning for the interchange of babies was delegated to other even more unfortunate infernal agents.
In this world, however, the outcome of the committee representative’s game of eeny, meeny, miny, moe was different, so the chosen family was that of the daughter of a Japanese home appliances tycoon, and then the committee’s representative forgot to actually delegate the planning until the last moment. This is why the demon Crowley received the following orders alongside a basket with a perfectly average looking, dark haired male baby:
“Corrupt a human so they can be persuaded to steal a child from his mother’s arms, to be unknowingly replaced by our Lord’s son.”
And,
“DO NOT MESS IT UP, CROWLEY.”
Crowley offered ₤100[2] to a nurse he found smoking in the parking lot to do the deed.
And well, many years later Crowley will wash his hands over the whole affair, arguing that his plan would have worked if that same day, at that same hospital, at the other end of the same hall where Hoshino Nadeshiko-san (full-time heiress) was in labor, Kageyama Akane-san (programmer, alongside her husband at the UK for work) was not in the same situation. Or maybe it would have worked if this nurse were not terribly racist, on top of unscrupulous, and didn’t think that “all Chinese people look the same”[3].

Eventually, the Kageyama family (now including their much-loved Shigeo) had to return to Japan once their contracts and visas expire. In the meanwhile, the young Hoshino Asahi-kun grew a bit neglected by his parents, but with the constant attention and counsel of his kendo instructor[4] and the housekeeper.

Asahi-kun’s 15th birthday comes but no hellhound does.
Crowley and Aziraphale scramble to find out what happened to the Antichrist, and they first search for the nurse who is now in prison[5] and doesn’t know anything of use, then the hospital, where they pick up a paper trail[6] that leads them to Japan.
“Well,” says the demon to the angel. “On the bright side, you do like sushi.”

Kageyama Shigeo is a very normal baby. Average size, average weight, reaches the developmental milestones at the expected ages. His parents love him very much and if Shige-chan has an habit of always managing get things he shouldn’t into his hands, they don’t think too much about it and gently correct him, just as they do when he tries to lick the neighbour’s cat or pulls from mommy’s hair.
When things start to float a bit, they take it on stride, because, well, it is not really problem, it is only small things and not very high, and Akane is pregnant again.
It does take them by surprise when Ritsu-chan keeps dropping his pacifier or a preferred toy and they have to keep picking it up for him, which immediately raises a concern about how many things that touched the floor ended up on Shige-chan’s mouth, and relief that they don’t have to worry about that with Ritsu-chan[7].
As Shige grows, so do his powers, and his family also grows accustomed to them. Soon, every time he cries –which is not often– the furniture will rattle, the rain will not touch him and he would make little and not so little animals swim through the air, or the bath water would float in shapes, but is always to entertain Ritsu or their friend Tsubomi. Sometimes the cutlery will bend, or Shige would accidentally make everything in the house hover 2cm over the floor in his sleep, but he is a good kid and it’s not like he does it intentionally.
Then, after an incident where Ritsu returns unharmed but covered in blood and Shige in in tears, and they don’t tell no matter how much Akane and Hisao ask their children what happened, Shige stops using his powers deliberately while the accidents increase, but they can’t do anything about it, because who do you ask about your child ESP problems?

Later, people will debate if the well-timed appearance of Reigen Arataka into Shigeo’s life was in fact as “godsend” as the Kageyamas thought the day their child returned home from school happier and more at ease that they had seen him in months.
The fact that the man would also act as a quick response free babysitter and chaperon also helped to improve their opinion of him[8].

Kageyama Shigeo is a very unremarkable boy, but he tends to have a tangible effect in the people who cross his path, and he achieves this despite his powers and no thanks to them, mostly.
Had this been a different world, his powers would have not been obvious, but would have arranged the world around him to his liking. In this one, they never get him what he wants and he has to figure that one all on his own[9].

A list of times the world could have ended ahead of schedule:
After the incident when Shigeo lost control of his powers for the first time and believed, for a second, before he heard him cry, that Ritsu was dead.
All the times Dimple tried and failed to convince Shigeo to help him become a god[10].
The time a technician’s shoelace got caught in his desk chair’s wheel, making him trip and smash his keyboard, almost starting up a chain of events that would have resulted in a Chinese Navy ship colliding with an American one, had he not also accidentally disconnected the ethernet connection of his terminal in the process.
The time Mogami almost managed to make Shigeo lose his faith in humanity.
The time Dimple did achieve godhood thanks to Shigeo’s powers, before Shigeo’s powers decided they could do give it a try on their own and Dimple realised his mistake.
That one incident by the end of Shigeo’s second year at middle school, which is not discussed in public by people in the known, for plausible deniability, you understand. Even thought it was not his fault, he is very sorry and very sure it won’t happen again and he helped put everything together again, and he has been reassured that no one died, miraculously[10].
But the important bit is that it didn’t happen.
*** For a being that some of the time is a snake, Crowley has way too much leg to fit into a tourist class plane seat, and he has time to complain about it at length during the 12 hours flight.
You see, due to the intrinsic nature of airlines, miracling two last-minute first-class plane tickets, does not mean that those two first-class seats actually exist in that flight.
The fact that Crowley was responsible for making flying a terribly uncomfortable ordeal for the masses, was an irony lost on him.
So was the fact that he was directly contributing to the flight attendant’s path to sainthood, attained by her infinite patience.

[2] The money was fake, but the nurse deserved it.
[3] Yeah, neither I know what Crowley was expecting to happen.
[4] If he’d had the time to pay attention to these things, Hoshino Katashi-san (CEO of his father-in-law’s company and absent but demanding parent) would had made an issue out of the kendo instructor being British. Fortunately, not only he never asked who was teaching his son, but the instructor wasn’t even really British in the first place, nor Japanese as Hoshino-san would preferred, nor anything, simply because the instructor wasn’t born in any country, or region, or geographic zone, as he had been brought into existence by Divine Will before the Creation, and he has been issued the physical form he inhabited after a long and tedious bureaucratic process, and he very much prefers to never have to go through it again, thank you.
[5]After noticing the money she had been paid with was fake, the nurse took a very pragmatic decision by taking the extra baby she found herself with to an adoption agency for rich people, where she received a quite large “fee”. This inspired her to a change in careers and became a full time “recruiter” for the agency, until it was closed under investigations for human trafficking.
[6]Not literally. The paper archive was burnt in a freak accident which was in no way caused by infernal agents with no knowledge about electronic databases.
[7]What they don’t know is that, soon enough, Shige-chan starts picking up things for his brother too when they are not looking. Maybe this is the reason why the brothers built extraordinarily strong immune systems and rarely get sick, maybe it is the other way around. I’m betting in the later.
[8]So did the discreet background check they did(a) on Reigen to make sure nothing untoward would happen. It also revealed that the man had his driving licence and an updated certification in first aid, making him qualified enough to take up child-care professionally.
[8.a] A leftover form their youth, before they decided to use their skills in a more legitimate manner as “cybersecurity”.
[9]With the support of loving family and friends, not that it lessens his effort in any way, but it is nice to mention it and Shigeo likes be reminded of it, too.
[10]But not a god as in God, more like a god as in the inaccurate translation of kami in Shintoism. Unbeknownst, back then, to Dimple, had he succeeded in making a god out of Shigeo, the results could had been less like the Emperor (like he envisioned) and closer (but not quite) to the actual Almighty.

So much for “defending the Constitution”
President Trump is planning to use an executive order to strip birthright citizenship from America's laws, rather than trying to change the Constitution through an act of Congress. The potential move, whose constitutionality isn't settled, would seek to end the conferring of citizenship to children of non-citizens who are born in the U.S. — which is currently guaranteed by the 14th Amendment.
"It was always told to me that you needed a constitutional amendment. Guess what? You don't," Trump said. He discussed the plan in an interview with Axios on HBO that is slated to air Sunday.

So. Here’s the relevant section of he 14th Amendment of the Constitution that Big Dummy wants to tinker with:
All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
It’s not “all persons born except...” All persons. Period. There are no qualifiers about the immigration status of the parents. And historian Steve Kantrowitz makes a very strong case that was, in fact, the original intent. (That he makes it on Twitter shouldn’t be an automatic disqualifier, but if you need it from a source with “editorial oversight”, see “The Citizenship Clause Means What It Says” by Garrett Epps. If you’re into original intent, they made it clear as crystal what they were trying to do.)
What The Orange Nightmare is betting the casino on (assuming that this isn’t another fundamentally dishonest play to a fear-based right-wing electorate to get them to the polls or the boogeyman’s gonna get you!) is that the minority of conservative legal scholars are correct in thinking that everybody’s been reading the simplest possible language completely wrong for 150 years. Because it that gambit fails, Trump has to put this redefinition of birthright citizenship into an amendment that overrides the previous one, pass it through both houses of Congress with a two-thirds majority, and then ratified by 38 of the 50 states. And between you, me and the unblinking eye of the Internet, I don’t think he’s got it in him. That sounds too much like work, and he’d rather be golfing or telling us who deserves to get a mail bomb next.
In summary, Donald Trump has no idea what he’s talking about...again. Seriously, dude, take a high school civics class. You might accidentally learn what a US President does.

Had Covid? You May Need Only One Dose of Vaccine, Study Suggests Shannon Romano, a molecular biologist, came down with Covid late last March, about a week after she and her colleagues shut down their lab at Mount Sinai Hospital. A debilitating headache came first, followed by a fever that kept rising, and then excruciating body aches. “I couldn’t sleep. I couldn’t move,” she said. “Every one of my joints just hurt inside.” It was not an experience she wanted to repeat — ever. So when she became eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine earlier this month, she got the shot. Two days after her injection, she developed symptoms that felt very familiar. “The way my head hurt and the way my body ached was the same headache and body ache I had when I had Covid,” she said. She recovered quickly, but her body’s intense response to the jab caught her by surprise. A new study may explain why Dr. Romano and many others who have had Covid report these unexpectedly intense reactions to the first shot of a vaccine. In a study posted online on Monday, researchers found that people who had previously been infected with the virus reported fatigue, headache, chills, fever, and muscle and joint pain after the first shot compared more frequently than did those who had never been infected. Covid survivors also had far higher antibody levels after both the first and second doses of the vaccine. Based on these results, the researchers say, people who have had Covid-19 may need only one shot. “I think one vaccination should be sufficient,” said Florian Krammer, a virologist at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and an author on the study. “This would also spare individuals from unnecessary pain when getting the second dose and it would free up additional vaccine doses.” While some scientists agree with his logic, others are more cautious. E. John Wherry, director of the University of Pennsylvania’s Institute for Immunology, said that before pushing for a change in policy, he would like to see data showing that those antibodies were able to stop the virus from replicating. “Just because an antibody binds to a part of the virus does not mean it’s going to protect you from being infected,” he said. It might also be difficult to identify which people have previously been infected, he said. “Documenting that becomes a really potentially messy public health issue,” he said. Side effects after vaccination are entirely expected. They show that the immune system is mounting a response and will be better prepared to fight off an infection if the body comes into contact with the virus. The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are particularly good at evoking a strong response. Most participants in the companies’ trials reported pain at the injection site, and more than half reported fatigue and headaches. The clinical trials of the authorized vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna, which included more than 30,000 participants each, suggest that most people experience the worst side effects after the second jab. And in the Moderna study, people who had previously been infected actually had fewer side effects than those who hadn’t. But anecdotally, researchers are hearing from a growing number of people like Dr. Romano who felt ill after one shot. “They describe these symptoms much more vigorously,” Dr. Wherry said. That matches what Dr. Krammer and his colleagues found in their new study, which has not yet been published in a scientific journal. The researchers assessed symptoms after vaccination in 231 people, of whom 83 had previously been infected, and 148 had not. Both groups widely reported experiencing pain at the injection site after the first dose. But those who had been infected before more often reported fatigue, headache and chills. The team also looked at how the immune system responded to the vaccine in 109 people — 68 of whom had not previously been infected and 41 who had — and found a more robust antibody response in the latter group. The numbers, however, are small, and so the study’s conclusions will need to be further investigated with more research, experts said. It’s not necessarily surprising that previously infected individuals might experience more intense reactions. Both shots contain bits of genetic material that spur the body to manufacture spike proteins, the knobby protrusions on the coronavirus’s surface. People who have already been infected with the virus have immune cells that are primed to recognize these proteins. So when the proteins show up after vaccination, some of those immune cells go on the attack, causing people to feel sick. Dr. Susan Malinowski, an ophthalmologist in Michigan who had Covid-19 in March, certainly felt like her body was under attack after she received the Moderna vaccine. She got the first shot before lunch on New Year’s Eve. By dinner, she was starting to feel ill. She spent the next two days miserable in bed. “I had fevers. I had chills. I had night sweats. Betsey cocked her head back. She blinked as if she really did think Kitty was just playing coy with the boy, as if she was really entertaining notions of one day marrying him. “But…I thought…well you accepted his invitation to this, and…” she glanced at Kitty’s servant and lowered her voice, “you’ve laid with him.”
Kitty laughed, “And, I’ll probably lay with him again.” She also found that look so painfully endearing when it soured. There were times Betsey made it difficult to resist the urge to ruffle her hair like a little girl…but they had spent far too long twisting it into prettily-styled knots for the ball to ruin it now.
In his invitation, Alec had heavily implied that he would expect them to spend time together after the formal celebrations had ceased- probably rekindle their seasonal flame despite the fact that he’d rudely neglected her this past year.

Alexander had hoped not to mention it, lest Tilghman demand he play cupid for his pursuit of a delightful fox that he had been unable to stop talking about all month. Supposedly he had met her at a dinner with Lord Livingston, but Alex had no recollection of him spending time with any girl in that meeting, so it was far more likely that Tench had seen her and made eyes at her from a distance- and would need all the help he could get to win her- or speak to her at all. “Yes, Bets,” Kitty said slowly, “We could have. He’s bringing his friend to distract you from me so we can be alone.”

He had heard of Elizabeth Schuyler often enough from Tench and all the officers who had served with the girl’s father to expect that she would be as kind and agreeable as everyone said. By name, he couldn’t recall having met her…
But those eyes were certainly familiar. Ink-black and colder than the winter had ever been- even in John’s absence. The Elizabeth Schuyler he remembered at once was sharp-tongued and deceivingly polite.
And, her snubs were as delicate and graceful as they were decisive. Tench scooped her hand delicately and kissed it in greeting. “That is a lovely dress, Miss Schuyler.”
“It’s Kitty’s dress,” she said with a sweet smile.
To his credit, Tench waned only a little, “Then it looks lovely on you.”
“It’s quite nice on her as well.”
“I…I’m sure that’s the case…”

He could brag of the elder aide’s finer qualities himself then perhaps send her away, happier to converse with him.

It was brutal to watch, but Kitty felt no shame in enjoying Betsey’s destruction of Colonel Tilghman’s lofty hopes with her. She did it so kindly the man would hardly be able to hate her for it, though he would certainly understand she had no interest in him.
Maybe she’d underestimated her friend in a way- though blind to the boys’ manipulation, she was artfully delivering her honest sentiments in a way they could hardly protest…
Perhaps she had never needed to learn the sorts of tactics Kitty had seen.
Still, when Alec turned to talk to her, Kitty was keen to watch them, and relieved when he stayed his course and only spoke praises of his friend- not even realizing Betsey was wise to Colonel Tilghman’s purpose here, and she’d be immune to such charms-

This game was obviously fixed against their favor. Miss Schuyler’s smile betrayed nothing, but she would have no need for such a mask if she wasn’t aware of it’s purpose. She knew Alex had brought Tench for her. All he could do was show his friend support in hopes Tench wouldn’t realize the setup and might overlook his oversight.

Perfectly content that Alec’s diversion had failed, Kitty took Colonel Tilghman’s hand to be escorted from the carriage. He laughed, lightly squeezing the hand in his own and starting their walk down the path. “Well, that’s cynical of her.”
“Can you fault her for that?” miss Schuyler smirked darkly, a truer expression and one Alex took some small satisfaction in, then- “She can hardly be alone with you without you trying to lead her off to just…romp with her.”

“Yes!” she huffed as if offended she was being made to speak of it further. “I’ve seen how you are. You can hardly speak two words to a lady without trying to dig yourself into her skirts!”
Alex caught his breath, guiding their steps forward and stopping to bow to their hosts, generals and dignitaries each as they passed in step. “Not to be contrary with you, miss, but I like to think you are yourself a lady, and if I’ve been digging for your skirts I’ve kept my hands remarkably clean this time.”
He smirked at her immediate glare and gave her wrist a light slap when she nearly failed to curtsey Count Pulaski.
“Besides,” he said, straightening up, “I find it interesting that you assume it’s always been me who was eager to dash off for a romp.” Implication aside that he was such a lusty tramp- an insult he was so familiar with it hardly struck him anymore, “I think I’m attractive enough that any lady with a healthy sense of desire might approach me- have you thought of that?”

He could do it, be comfortable and happy with a woman in the same way that he could be comfortable, conceding a footrace where all bets were against him- he’d catch his breath and his muscles would relax, but he’d lose…the race, his pride, the satisfaction of knowing he had given all he had and finished at a sprint, of knowing that he’d defied all those who wanted him to lose…to sacrifice his own happiness for the comfort of others…he’d rather deny them all out of spite- punish them for ever demanding such a thing…
Sure, he loved women- their bodies and wit and sensibility. But, he loved himself first, and he hated this concession.
He wanted to stay with John, and he should damn well do it.
“Do you love her?” Elizabeth said.
“What?” Alex found himself staring at their hands.
“Kitty. Are you in love with her?”
No… That was a bold question and the right one to ask, but Alex could tell she would see it if he lied about this. John had said lying wasn’t in his nature anyway. Though, lately, it all felt like lies...
John had freed him to concede a part of his heart to ensure his own happiness- he had never said how large a percentage it must be, so what did it matter if he barely loved his girl at all? If he could do so just a little, that love would still be true enough and- “I was…” he said, voice dropping to a whisper. “There was a time I loved Kitty so much I could hardly stand it.”
A lie. He thought he loved her. He hadn’t even known what love was...yet.
“But that changed?”
Yes, it had changed, but Alexander couldn’t exactly explain that he had fallen deeply, hopelessly in love with his friend- his lover in camp. A man. He dropped her hands and stepped back towards the floor where the dancers were finding their pairs. “Look. I loved her before and I know that I am very capable of doing so again. Unless you have an objection to a man, intent on committing to a woman he wants to someday marry, I’ll ask you not to interfere.”
She grabbed his arm, pulling him back, “Wait-”
He turned, frowning. Maybe Kitty had told her something he didn’t know.
“She said…”
He braced himself for the inevitable. His girl had been promised to someone else and she simply hadn’t found a way to tell him. He should have known better than to raise his hopes- Kitty was wealthy and well-bred. But, why would her father have ever allowed her to attend this ball with him if that was so?
Elizabeth hesitated, “well, I think you hurt her badly these last few months. She was convinced you had fallen for someone else.”
So then, all was not lost. He closed his mouth, stepping back towards her and holding out his hand. “Dance with me. Please.”
Elizabeth looked past him to the floor.

This was a surprising development, though perhaps not a shocking one. Kitty dropped the folds of her skirt where she’d been walking to meet Alec for the opening dance. Their hosts would begin the ceremonies and the guests would each take partners for the minuet and the following line dances.
Betsey had come with her to help distract Alec and in that regard, she was effective, but there was no satisfaction in giving her a nod from across the room when the girl looked for her permission.
There would’ve been no harm in dancing with him…
Kitty glanced back to Colonel Tilghman, his eyes fixed on the same scene and drawing his own bottom lip to chew it, a heavy curl of guilt for the crestfallen expression he wore. It would be simple to walk over and cut in, free Betsey to his hand and take Alec away to the dance floor with her where he had intended to be anyway…but there was a danger in coming too close to that boy and his mouth, in imagining how she could have him with a simple command…
Not now…but maybe…
She stepped to Tilghman’s side, “Should I assume I’m not your first choice of dance partner?” she said, giving him a careful smile.
He collected himself as if he hadn’t realized he’d had her audience, composing himself and holding a hand out politely. “You are my best choice, it seems.”
It was the kindest thing to say.

Elizabeth understood the steps and moved with all the grace that Alex’s former dance partners had been known to want. The complicated series’ of steps and hops in the first few sets granted little time to conversation and far too much for his own reflections.
He’d only been gone for a week, but all Alexander could hear was John’s laughter, the tight-chested fondness to watch his clipped steps and small stumbles, the warmth of dancing in this stuffy ballroom style in their own cabin, perverting the movements to their own taste and reclaiming them their own…
And the night that followed.
John had said his dancing partner here would be able to keep up with him, but it was he who was struggling to maintain his usual grace, expecting longer limbs for the twirls and a taller partner to spin.
“Was Kitty right?” Elizabeth said, watching his feet- likely to avoid being stepped on, “That you’d fallen for someone else?” She looked up to his eyes, and when he didn’t want to answer, her tone accused, “Because you don’t seem to be dancing with me-” she stepped under his arm, “and if you had wanted to dance with her, you would’ve just asked.”
There were enough ladies that trailed behind the army to follow their families or work- she would have no reason to suspect- "Someone in camp,” he admitted.
Elizabeth frowned. “And you’ve come back to Kitty…because this girl in camp-”
“We would never work,” Alex said, clasping her hand again, “our…families…” John’s family would be ruined forever. He would be hanged by his political enemies. Washington’s reputation…all that had happened under the General’s watch… “I need to be serious about my future- consider things like marriage.”
“The infamous Tomcat, truly speaking of proper courtship.”
There was a smirk in her tone “Is that really so hard to believe?”
“No. I don’t think you’re being insincere,” she met his eyes as they dipped in unison, “But, I’ve heard stories…and, knowing that you love this girl in camp-”
He wished she would stop calling John a girl- “I admit, I have a terrible weakness,” he said, and for a moment, he wasn’t sure what he had intended to say. Then, Elizabeth’s dark eyes were locked on his, stepping close to him and sharing the same breaths and it was easy to explain, “I have a foolish, hopeful heart.” A strange topic to touch again. It wasn’t exactly a secret that he guarded, but it was one he didn’t speak of- or…had only spoken of with John, an inky black place in his chest, touched only by him. “See, I’m inexplicably drawn to fall in love with the ones I can never keep.”
Black eyes turned from him, staring past his shoulder on the party where Kitty twirled under the next man’s arm. “I think,” she wet her lips and glanced down toward his feet, “that’s not…your fault…”
That- he had not expected and, “How?” he blurted. Suddenly at a disadvantage, he didn’t want to seem confused, lagging behind her, “I mean, I know the heart wants what the heart wants- or some such adage, but-”
“But, that’s not what I’m saying,” she smiled, surprisingly kind. “I just mean…I think, when you allow it, your heart follows easily where it’s lead and that’s not a bad thing. It’s certainly not foolish.”
He didn’t know what to say to that, feeling raw in a familiar and unwelcome way.
“I think,” Betsey turned away, dropping the folds of her dress as the music slowed, “you shouldn’t be with someone who doesn’t see that…” Or worse- someone who saw it and let him fall in love nonetheless.
“You…don’t think Kitty sees it…” he realized this almost as he said it aloud, staring at her. “So if I told her I’d had a lover in camp- that that’s the cause of my silence, she wouldn’t forgive it.”
“I think…” the music had stopped and Elizabeth stepped back towards their friends, “that’s something you should ask her.”
It was Alexander’s turn to grab her arm and say, “Wait- you see her better than I do, I’m sure. I think you see me as well, and- even knowing and believing my intentions, you’ve diverted me from her… you don’t think I should pursue it further.”
“She enjoys you-”
“Yes, between her legs, what about her heart?” Alex nearly bit his own tongue, shocked with himself for saying such a thing to a lady- especially one he didn’t know in such a way. But, Elizabeth just raised her brows at his language. He slowed himself, “I mean, would it be unwise to let myself love her again? Please be honest.”
“Well,” she bit her lip and her hands smoothed out the front of her dress restlessly, fidgeting with his proximity “I think you’re attractive enough…you have many options. I certainly can’t control where your heart is leading.”
The response was so simple, Alex could hardly help himself from lowering his voice, sultry, “Don’t be so quick to doubt yourself there…” He grinned when that earned a high flush and her hands flattening out over her skirts.
Kitty and Tench stepped from the crowd of dancers, walking to join them. Unaware of their approach, Elizabeth stepped towards him to say, “We will be friends, if anything, mister Hamilton.”
She was close enough to convey her anger and he smiled, “I don’t keep ladies as friends, miss Schuyler.”
“Well, that is too bad,” she huffed, “because we will not be nothing.” Turning away from him, she nearly crashed into Tilghman’s chest.
Alex was still smiling when Kitty accepted his hand and walked him towards the ballroom floor once more.
…
It wasn’t until later- after the girls had spent some time together and Kitty had approached him, pulled him aside to borrow the carriage for a few hours, find some privacy, and shared kisses and touches, groans and sighs that spoke of dismissal…he realized his dear girl’s play.
Her friend, Elizabeth…Betsey- had been a demand for proof of his love, for him to show the lengths to which he’d go to have her like this again. But, hiking her leg over his shoulder to find a deeper place in her, he realized, he was only given this after she’d been reassured that she had him still- that the part of him he had forfeit was not lost in his silence.
She would never be his. He would never have that part of himself back. That was hers. He would surrender…
and surrender…
And there, in the inky black water, the depths of himself that were ugly and comfortable and John’s, there would be an intruder.
And, she would have whatever was left.

some thoughts
so i just found out about united airlines (i don’t pay attention to the news every day sorry) and literally if that isn’t fucking vile and proof that police are corrupt as an institution i don’t know what is. he was a paying customer minding his own business and they still resorted to violence. none of y’all can say he was provoking anyone. i have no trust in any organization that sanctions the use of force and doesn’t educate these officers on the methods of deescalation and on the basic rights of citizens. police are meant to keep order and protect their people. not keep order by using force as coercion.
(and y’all can fuck off with that not all cops bs. i know cops and that are reasonable people i get it, but you gotta leave room to criticize the institution at least. it’s not just rotten apple poisoning the batch)
and here’s the thing, statistically asian people are not targeted by the police as much as other minorities are. literally, even if police themselves aren’t racist (which, for the sake of argument i’m gonna give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they’re not which i’m sure isn’t true of all cases) the police tactics target minorities based on what areas they patrol, what the image of crime is (i know weed smokers in the suburbs do not get the same treatment as weed smokers in urban areas) and the cycle of incarceration and poverty that keeps whole populations in states of disenfranchisement and impotence.
i don’t even know to label this a race issue (but y’all can bet that asians are dehumanized and assumed incompetent esp those who are immigrants with accents) but here’s an example of how the law protects corruption. especially with the bullshit qualified immunity. especially with state-protected rights to break the law when in that uniform. it’s disgusting.
now add this protection to the fact that so many people are targeted for the way they look. like, black people are far more likely to be incarcerated before the court even reaches a verdict on their crimes. black people are more targeted for petty infractions like traffic and shit. there’s too much up to the discretion of the police. we see in this case that a person doesn’t even have to be breaking the law to be a victim of this police corruption. also if you think shoplifting is a reason to be beaten up by the police you need to reevaluate because hey one of the principles of effective corrections is that punishment remain proportional to the crime committed. you don’t have to be a lawyer to realize there are very few crimes that justify the stripping of someone’s humanity. and even then it’s in being monitored 24/7 and having your possessions seized. it’s not about receiving violence from people.
and yes, i get that the officer who hurt the man is now on leave but it’s still all so sour, isn’t it? is it because of the backlash or did they come to that decision out of their own morality? why did they need three big tall strong guys just to ask people gently to give up their seats? couldn’t the airline just have i don’t know, gone around asking others? (and yes, no one initially volunteered to give up their seats, i’m sure the situation might have changed if they saw some security officers ask them one on one). i don’t know it just sucks.
and this is all over united’s own mistake of overbooking the flight by 4 people. this man paid his money. he went through security and he was directed to his seat with his wife and he sat down. he spend a few hundred on this flight, and from what i see he was a doctor resuming work the next day. he had every reason to remain on that flight. now, a reasonable person would ask other people, maybe beg and negotiate that they offer up to four times the fare in situations like this, and to ask nicely if anyone had an extra day to spare if they’d be willing to give up a seat.
so here’s the thing too. there’s something new to this. i’m so used to being disgusted by seeing the footage and stories of other groups being victims. black people, indigenous people, latinx people, muslims, i’m horrified, i’m shocked, and my heart goes out to the people affected every time. but it’s been on a human level, not so familiar to me. this guy, he looks and sounds just like my uncles, heck, even my dad. he looks like the family doctor that used to give me sweets and speak in plain korean to my parents that i’m a sweet kid. this guy looks like the men at my church who sheepishly slipped me 50s when they found out i’ll be headed all the way across the country for university. there’s something so raw about that. and this guy got care and survived. how devastating must have it been for all of you crying about missing children and murdered sons. i’m ashamed to say it never fully clicked, really, until now. you can be mad, but that personal fear and grief is inexplicable.
anyways, my heart goes out to this man.
i have no sympathy for the police system. especially in the states, and i see that the whole situation’s becoming quite apocalyptic for you guys down there. freedom from undue force is protected in your constitution, and it’s violated every single goddamn day. it needs reform, police culture needs to change. and it’s fucking scary.

Four months later…
The smell of concentrated brain stem no longer made her dizzy. She tightened the scarf to her head as more boxes came by. One hand secretly held her stomach from feeling sick as she touched each of the containers that stopped for her. Each day things got easier and she adapted to looking profession to the one that found her and saved her from the frigid space. With the wave of her hand, each was pushed along for the Collector to smile upon. The strange man stood tall, waiting behind the woman as she continued with her work.
“Impressive as always, my dear.”
“Don’t make me rip out your tongue, sir.”
Taneleer chuckled as he kept his hand to himself but his thoughts run wild about her. At least it gave him a distraction from all last of the repairs made to the stronger ceilings of the Arena since the explosion from the last Infinity Stone that was in possession. The only thing keeping him back from her was the accord around her finger that would present itself whenever he got close enough. Her hand stopped as she looked over her shoulder.
“Since when do you traffic unshackled refugees?”
“Since these are hard times that we live by. I do have a heart somewhere, you know.”
“There’s no more room here on this shit rock.”
“I do have enterprises elsewhere. Just say the word.”
“The word. All shipping containers are cleared.”
“Wonderful,” he beamed as he clapped his hands together.
The Collector followed his pale worker through the maze of his collection, seeing her exhausted by her powers. He proudly held out his arm to her for her to grab, smiling as her weakened hand clutched his suit jacket. She was taken but he enjoyed the moments with her when he could as she was the most beautiful thing he’d ever laid eyes upon.
“Have you rethought my offer, young Harding?”
“I don’t want to be in one of your damn cages, sir.”
“I have no Kree or a grandfathered Inhuman for that matter.”
“I’m not sure I qualify for both, sir. I’m still human.”
“Nonsense. All the more reason to think over my offer. You would be paid handsomely.”
“Too bad for you, I could give a shit about money.”
“Give a shit,” he pondered, “not my taste but refreshing none the less. Have some tea before you go. I would hate to have you pass out from exhaustion in the sea of miners.”
Katja was too tired to try and fight with the man as she sat at the offered seat at his desk. He waved his hand as one of the greener skinned servant girls hurried off to please her master. Katja was lucky to only be a show dog to him.
“Ten more units per box. You are well over 5000 units, my dear. Shall I keep them for you? You have more than enough to occupy one of my spaces rather than that disheveled hostel on the ground level.”
“I have nothing worth stealing.”
“Only because they fear you.”
“Good,” she huffed as she accepted the sweetened tea, “I don’t enjoy being messed with.”
“Then why work as a barmaid? I would pay more should you want to be a hostess to my collection. The studies would be strenuous but the knowledge would be more that rewarding.”
Katja smiled and began to consider. She finished her tea in peace and departed with a few of her units as she made her way from the upper levels of the Arena. She moved through the walls and made her way past the waves of bodies that drank and bet with one another. She covered her face to not get the attention of the patrons.
She turned corners and alleys to avoid the children asking for spares, not that she didn’t like the children but to hide herself as she stumbled into the nearest wall and got sick. She missed her boots and wiped the spit from the back of her mouth as she tasted the sweet bitterness of her rejected tea. Her body was having a reaction to the skin vapers of Knowhere as her immune system was adapting to alien germs. All still so new for her to remember.
Katja pushed herself upright and continued her way back to the guarded housing used for the Collector’s more important workers. His personal servants roomed in the upper floors of the arena but Katja needed grit and something surreal to keep her moving forward.
She stopped at the forward gates and showed her face as the guards waved her forward. With each step, Katja could hear the slums behind her slowly start to quiet. She climbed the mountain of spiral stairs to the top level, the only thing she really wanted. She turned the knob of her rooms and used her weight to open the heavy wood. Katja hit the door a bit hard, scaring the other woman on the other side of the door.
“You scared me! Must you enter like a savage?”
“What’s the matter, babe? I thought my brute force was something you liked. Don’t know why you’re complaining now.”
The little woman’s angry face melted into a smile as she curled up on her seat, looking to Katja’s weak body trying to close the door.
“I do like it but I wish you were like a male.”
“Scratching and sniffing at myself like I’m a dog?”
Katja kicked the door closed and tossed her things into the second room. She grabbed the nearest bottle of recycled mist and rinsed out her mouth, leaving it clean.
“I think you’d just need to pick me up and throw me over your shoulder. I think about it a lot, not you but a man, claiming me and only me as his own. The growing need to draw blood almost to the surface.”
“It’s overated, Arda, believe me…”
Katja flopped down on her bed, feeling the artificial gravity hold her to the soft mattress. She wasn’t fast enough as the little A’askavariian jumped on her and straddled her lap with a chuckle.
“Then maybe you should show me what it feels like to be taken. Your husband…”
Katja was quick to reach up and yank Arda’s head back by her hair. She could feel her mate’s fingers thicken to small tentacles as she tried to counter the pain. Katja smiled and tilted the woman’s head enough to made her try and fight.
“Baby, don’t try and tease me like that. If I wanted, I could bounce you like a ball. It has been a while, you know…”
She tugged a little harder, making Arda’s fangs appear from her gums. Katja spun herself, landing on top of Arda to make her squirm. She let go, seeing the A’askavariian’s hand clutch the bed. She drew her teeth back in and forced her panting breaths to calm. Katja could sense the pulse beating from her companion’s neck. She was able to calm her with a kiss to her skin.
“Mercy,” huffed Arda as Katja smiled in victory.
“Fine, quitter. Where you off to now?”
“There’s a few miners from the other side of the being is treating me to Narros.”
“Be safe, trollop.”
“Always, my Katja.”
Katja stayed in bed, listening to the shuffle of feet on the floors below her. She missed the freight ship that she had lived on for the few months that she was in space. At once, she thought of Korath and Nebula and…
She stopped and turned to the wall as the fading overtunnel lights began to dim for the evening. She closed her eyes and saw Ronan looking to her plain as day. It broke her heart as his hand caressed the side of her face, touching her the way he would if he was still there. Her stomach turned, not in a sick way. Something was coming.
“Katja…”
She moaned, feeling his hands. They had to be his. They wrapped around her waist with one sneaking down to the front of her trousers. They were fitting, surprising her as his hand brushed against her skin. She lifted her leg to invite him in as he smiled from the huff of his breath.
“Wait for me.”
Katja woke, drenched with sweat as she raced to pry the clothes from her body. She gasped for breath, rolling from the weak mattress as her body hit the floor. Through her breaths, she sobbed into her hands. She pressed herself into the nearest wall and curled up into a ball to not feel the cold room around her. Katja missed Ronan and it didn’t matter if he did too, she knew she would never see him again.

Katja cleaned herself the best she could and hurried to the door so she could be the first out the front gate before the dirty wave of night dwellers came rushing back to ready themselves for the day. She kept her eye out for Arda as her paler friend came racing past the night crew. Katja waved to her friend, seeing a bit of a terrified look to her face. She wanted to stop but dodged the dingy swinging flesh reaching to stretch themselves out.
Katja continued on to the Arena and to the collection as she started her morning tasks of wiping and shining the many cages to keep herself busy. She stopped and wiped the sweat from her head as she realized half the day had gone by and Tanaleer hadn’t bothered her.
“He is dealing with another matter of site,” squeaked one of the female workers.
“Did he leave a note?”
“No, Miss. Not if someone destroyed one of his shipping routes. Lives were lost and priceless bits were as well. He was not happy.”
Katja had heard of the temper that laid below the eccentrics of her employer but it wouldn’t be the first time she’d been in a fight with someone with unstable emotions. Katja wrote a note for him, deciding to put herself to use elsewhere. There were always units to be made on Knowhere but she didn’t know how to operate heavy machinery and she wasn’t ready to open her legs to the miners.
Katja used the shaft ride down the Arena to change her clothes. She pulled off her scarf and jacket showing off the tunic she shredded into a halter to her benefit. She ran her fingers through her hair and twisted the mixed strands into the beautiful mess it was finally able to become. She tucked her clothes underneath her arm and sighed for her stomach to stop hurting her.
“Let’s get this night over with…”
The doors opened as most eyes went to her. They went for her wildly colored hair and the stern look that were never meant for them. There was also the many ink markings and the body that laid underneath that she never let anyone but Arda touch, sending gossip and jealousy to every single male that inhabited Knowhere.
She pushed her way through the drunken ones that tried to stop in front of her and they would always do what they could to make her scrap. Something to make the Collector’s favorite pet snap her jaws to them.
Katja made her way to one of the more free vibed taverns near the hostels so that she could leave whenever she wished now that she was on her own. She felt like she was spitting on her Nana’s grave by resorting to a waitress again but Katja swallowed her pride instead of alien dick. Better working on her feet than on her knees, she would tell herself. She rescued herself but not before the Collector did.
She was told that he was picking through ship debris that would normally get caught in the gravitation polarities on one of his other lesser sites. She had collapsed on the freezing floor, shaking as bits of the pod had iced over. She didn’t know any of the controls on the console but she also didn’t want to touch anything. Not out to not knowing but… she was done. Her heart was beating and the only thing she wanted in the world was for it to stop.
She saw Ronan’s eyes as the pod flew forward, leaving the ship behind. Time had gotten away from her as her fists pounded into the walls, denting them for what they were worth. She gave up after some time, wanting nothing but death. No sleep, no wishful thinking that Ronan would come for her. He had put her there in the first place. She willed the world to stop as she closed her eyes and let her thoughts comfort her from the growing cold.
She didn’t remember the lights disabling as the freighter pulled her pod into its bay. The warm air made her open her eyes. Katja didn’t move when shadows from outside the pod were cast over her and were gone in a second as a taller, bolder shadow looked in on her. He turned his head, possibly to her visible breath.
“She’s alive. Open the doors.”
The hiss of the pod doors stung her ears as the shadow stepped over her and laid on the floor next to her. Her eyes moved to his lips as they formed words but she couldn’t not hear him, all she could do was follow the black line down the middle of his bottom lip. He reached forward and touched her cheeks, spotted red from the days of crying. He tested her, touching her hand as the accord appeared.
A smile spread across his face as he pulled the shawl from his shoulders and wrapped it around her. The man lifted her from the cold floor and into the waiting ship as he refused to let her out of his sight.
“Sir, there is nothing else in the ship.”
Katja felt his eyes glued to her as he ignored his workers.
“No supplies? Someone wished death upon you, my dear.”
He set her down on an impossibly soft couch as he placed her head on his richly covered thigh. She looked to her hand and the back of the light couch as her accord began to glow. The glow spread down her arm, showing off the black ink to them. The man ran his fingers through her hair.
“The Kree seem to be losing their morals as well as their women. Such tragic beauty.”
It was unexpected. She heard voices in the back of her head, her natural instinct made her voice return.
“Sir, there’s something you should see. It’s of grave importance.”
“What is, my child?”
“We need you, sir. Please this way. Your occupation for useless trinkets to be vacant, pale ash.”
The man sighed in relief and kissed Katja’s fevered forehead as her skin began to turn blue.
“Thank you, child. I have never witnessed a Kree accusation before.”
She could feel the pulse in his arm steady as he reached for the weapon hidden in the shawl she was wrapped in. He hid it in time as one of the workers ran into the door alone. It was rather quiet.
“Sir! There’s something you should see. It’s of grave importance!”
“What is it? Where is everyone else?”
Katja could hear nothing but three heartbeats. The man felt no fear as he comforted her.
“We need you, sir. Please this w…”
The man turned his wrist up and shot the man’s neck as he cried out in pain. She heard a loud clang of a machete before the worker’s body hit the floor. There was no emotion from him but relief. The man remained on the couch with Katja’s head to his thigh as he continued to stroke her hair and acted as if nothing happened.
“Rest now. We’ll be moving along shortly…”
“Katja!”
She rolled her eyes and ate her fruit as fast as she could, turning from the alley where she would be alone.
“Is it one of Tanaleer’s,” she forced with a full mouth.
“Nope. Someone is asking for you.”
“They always ask. They can wait.”
She started at the main bar to serve however winked in her direction and tipped her too much. The catcalling was humiliating but there were times when she could fight back. They loved it. He was taking but surprise as Katja grabbed his arm and slammed the rather large man face first into his glass. His friend got to his foot as Katja kicked her foot up and knocked him back into his seat. A few of the men backed away from the table as the rest made a reach for her. Katja broke a bottle on the side of the wooden table and swung her arm to defend herself. One was cut on his arm as the last one held Katja by the throat. The hooded man pulled the man away, leaving the first man that touched her to reach for her. She reached for his arm again, forcing him down as she pushed his arm further, snapping it as he howled in pain.
Katja pushed him to the floor, ignoring the applause. She was instantly filled with anger and hurt as she felt a strong hand at her naked shoulder. She reached over her shoulder and hurled the hooded man to his back with a loud thud as she swung the nearest chair up and smashed it to pieces across his chest.
The crowd got their money’s worth as they ordered more and booed the other men from the floor. The owner came from behind the counter and pointed his weapon to the man, ready to call guards.
“What about this one, peach?”
Katja took a breath in and shook her head.
“Don’t bother with this one.”
“Really,” he asked, holstering his weapon, “What makes this one special?”
She pulled the glove from his left hand and showed off both of their glowing accords.
“It’s my fucking husband. Get the sutures, Hoss.”
The smiles turned to wonder as they looked to the man that ran his thumb over her knuckles. Katja nodded towards the other side of the tavern for a bit of privacy as he followed. She took the bandages and a bottle of something strong. She took a seat on the edge of the table and waited as he sat with his back to the wandering eyes.
Ronan pulled the hood from his face, showing the bleeding cuts and pale skin so similar to hers.
“Fuck, you’re hideous!”
It was a lie. His dark hair had gotten longer on top as it drifted to one side. The sides had been shaved and his eyes with beautiful and full of hope that he had found her. More than anything, she wanted to wrap her arms around him and never let him go. Still, the hurt that she felt kept her safe from her impulsiveness.
“Here’s what’s going to happen. I patch you up. You don’t touch me. Then, you’ll have 100 words or less to explain yourself. When I reject your answer, you undo our marriage and you are fucking gone. You forget my face, you forget coming inside of me and you take your fucked up band of merry men and go. Deal?”
Ronan was quiet as he opened a sack at his feet. She wanted to cry as he pulled her bag out and dropped it next to her.
“The only thing keeping me from throwing you over my shoulder and reclaiming you for everyone to see is the same explanation.”
He snatched the bottle from Katja’s hand and took several gulps. He placed the bottle on the other side of her.
“Go on.”
Katja patched up Ronan as best she could and left with her bag without speaking a word to him. She knew all she was going to do was cry. The further she tried to walk away, the faster Ronan tried to catch up with her. She made the gates of the hostels, pointing to her face so they’d let her by. She could hear from the shuffle of boots as she stopped and met Ronan’s eyes.
“Katja!”
“Ma’am, do you know him?”
“Yeah, can’t you tell by the silent treatment?”
“Should we let him through?”
“How many bullets do you guys have?”
“Katja, you cannot be serious,” roared Ronan.
“You know, you’re the one that put in that pod and sent me off. Why are you are?”
“You are my wife…”
“Wrong answer.”
“You wanted me to talk and I’m ready but it’s not safe.”

Katja pushed herself out of Ronan’s arms before more got involved with their affairs. She waved the guards off, ensuring them that she could handle herself. Arda rushed to Katja feeling her head before Ronan could make a move.
“Are you sick again? Did you take something this time?”
“Get away from her.”
“Make me, Kree. I do not fear you.”
“I am her husband. Who are you to her?”
“Guys, chill the fuck out. Arda, this is my husband or he who will not be named. Bastard, this is my girlfriend.”
“You sought out companionship?!”
“Motherfucker! The moment you put me in that ship and hit eject, you lost all husbandly ordering privileges. Don’t snap at her!”
“Rigor has space for me. I’ll leave you, snip, only so that I don’t have to witness his death by your hands. I prayed that this would not happen so that I could have you.”
Katja was sad to see her friend’s lip tremble. She kissed her forehead and let her friend gather her things for the night. Ronan stood his ground and keeping his eyes to the shifty little A’askavariian that had touched his woman while he was gone. The young creature kept her tongue at bay as Katja disappeared into one of the smaller rooms of the dwelling.
He took a steady breath as the door slammed behind him, leaving him alone with Katja. The sound of water got his attention as he tried to follow her. Katja walked across the doorway to the sliding window as she spit out the mist and the left over vomit that had lingered in her mouth. She craned her neck, still seeing one of Tanaleer’s ships was gone.
“You can drop your stealth act now, Ronan. No one’s looking for you here.”
“There are those in these parts that do not favor Kree.”
“Shame, they favor me.”
“They have seen your skin?”
“Yeah.”
She turned, seeing Ronan waiting for her.
“What?”
“You have been here the whole time?”
“I was found in the later stages of hypothermia. It’s human talk for freezing to death. The Collector found me and he gave me employment. I’m his pretty little guard dog that sniffs out that bad things he may not have procured. You should be lucky that Arda got to me first or else I would have started fucking him.”
“Good for you. May I explain myself to you now?”
Katja sank to the edge of her metal cot and began to pry her boots off.
“Go on.”
Ronan took a seat across from her, to keep a safe distance.
“It started with those that held us captive. When I was an Accuser, I had slaughtered her wedded. You need to understand that my people had ways to live by.”
“Move it along.”
“You killed her but her soul remained on the ship. It is from powers that are possessed by someone I thought to be an ally. I betrayed him and now he is out for my blood. She possessed me and put you in the pod. I am truly sorry for what happened, Katja. I would never let any harm come to you.”

Katja fell back to the bed as Ronan inched forward to her. Her eyes began to close from what he could feel was her exhaustion. He watched her push off her pants and bury herself under the many covers. Ronan stripped himself and moved as close as he could to the cot. If he couldn’t touch her, he would respect her wishes. He heard Katja, give in to her exhaustion as her heartbeat began to steady. He laid on his back and held up his arm. He willed himself back to his natural form, witnessing the paleness vanish as the lights from the window dimmed. He watched the softening rays settle on Katja’s back as he closed his eyes.
He was there but she couldn’t feel him. She tried to move
Katja jumped at the cold feeling at her back. She turned on her bed, feeling it had grown with Ronan sleeping on the floor. Tears welled up in her eyes as she looked down to him. She made her hand hover over his blue face, seeing his head turn in whatever direction she moved her hand. She was used to the hurt but what hurt her was the truth. Co-Therapies and Nutritional Supplements for Parkinson’s Disease
This year alone, 50,000 Americans will be diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease (PD). The number of cases in the US suffering with PD will be close to 1.0 million patients by 2020. Patient education and self-help efforts are increasing. New treatments and local support groups are emerging that help disseminate valuable information to help fight PD. Taking responsibility for your health is THE smartest strategy. Expecting that our health care system will be there for us and take care of us during a chronic disease is not a bet one should take. Take responsibility for your PD.
In the event that you’ve been diagnosed or are currently suffering with PD, what do you do now? Here’re some therapies and co-therapies that will help you fight PD.
1. Make sure that you’re being treated by your Doctor or Neurologist
Step one is to make sure that you get yourself the best professional care you can get. You can find a neurologist near you on WebMD.
2. L-dopa (Levodopa) Supplementation for PD
This is the go to drug for PD. It helps increase dopamine levels that cause many of the symptoms associated with PD. Although it’s not a cure, it helps keep symptoms under control during the early stages. Remember that L-dopa cannot reduce every PD symptom. Talk to your physician about this therapy.

To solve a problem or to make the founders rich.
Which one is Vasayo? That’s the million-dollar question.
Vasayo is another nutritional MLM that swears their supplement will change your life.
They’re working off the idea that most supplements aren’t absorbed (which is true), but it’s doubtful their products are any different than the others already on the market, no matter how much they throw the word “science” around.
The MLM was founded by career direct sellers who ran their previous company into the ground. Can they do better this time around?
Time will tell.

Overview
It was officially launched in January of 2016, so they’ve actually only been in operation for a few years. If you know anything about MLM, you know that getting in early is almost the only way to hit it big, but you have to hedge your bets on a new company and hope they do well.
Husband and wife duo Dallin and Karree Larsen founded the company, and it’s not their first. They’ve been in the game for nearly 3 decades and have experience building companies up to the billion-dollar mark.
Dallin Larsen is both the founder of MonaVie, which had a pretty good run, and the President of USANA. So he’s got some impressive names under his belt. MonaVie was around for about a decade (they retired from the company when it was acquired) and made nearly a billion dollars in just a few years.
MLM founders love to tell the “we came out of retirement to start this company” story, probably because it does two things:
Makes the reader think they must have been extremely successful to have retired at a fairly early age
Makes the reader think this new company must really have something special going for it if someone was willing to ditch retirement to run it
The couple tells Business for Home in a recent interview, “After having helped build two very successful companies in direct selling, Karree and I have decided to spend the rest of our days building a third and final company. We have every intention of leading this company until our last breath.” [2]
That’s promising, if it’s true.
Vasayo is based in Utah (of course). As of January, their products are only available in the U.S. and Canada, but they have plans for eventual international expansion.
How much does Vasayo cost?
The basic sign-on package costs $239. More involved packages (that allow you to make more money) cost $329, $499, and $889.
They’re also still offering a limited time Founders Package for $1,495 that gives you access to a 1% bonus pool.
To qualify for compensation, you also need to maintain 80 PV a month.
Products
Vasayo currently has five lines of nutritional products, all under the brand name MicroLife. Their products are all based around the science of micronutrients and “Advanced Delivery Technology” (ADT).
Basically, most nutritional supplements are only marginally effective (or not effective at all) because they way they’re delivered (combined with fillers, additives, and binders) doesn’t allow your body to properly recognize and absorb their nutrients.
Vasayo claims that not only will you not find any of these potentially harmful additives and fillers in their products, but they use micronutrients and liposomes to make sure that your body absorbs all of the nutrients in their supplements. Basically, these liposomes are like bubbles around the micronutrient made of lipids that are easily absorbed into the bloodstream so that your system can get straight to the good stuff – nutrient absorption.
The technology was created by Dr. Emek Blair, who worked on his Ph.D. at the University of California, Irvine and the California Institute of Technology. His work on lipids got him 3 fellowship awards and his products and formulas have won him numerous awards.

As for the science behind their supplements, there is actually some research to support the benefits of liposomes in nutritional supplements. A recent study traces back to a number of experiments throughout the past four decades that have shown liposomes are an effective drug and nutrient delivery system. The study even claims that the use of liposomes is expected to boom in popularity in the nutritional industry within the next 5-10 years, so Vasayo might be ahead of the curve on this one. [3]
Side Effects:
So far, there are no known side effects associated with Vasayo supplements. However, they’re still relatively new, so it’s too early to tell.
That being said, although studies show that most people desperately need to increase their micronutrient intake, they also show that doing this through dietary intake (eating complex foods) is far more effective than using nutritional supplements in promoting nearly every benefit mentioned and then some. Compensation Plan
There are 18 ranks to the Vasayo compensation plan, which is a binary compensation plan requiring you to maintain two active affiliates (one on each branch) and one customer in order to remain active.
Retail commissions go up to 20%, which is a little low compared to some of the top-rated MLMs like Scentsy and Young Living.
You get introduction bonuses of 10%-20% on new personal recruits, as well as residual commissions on your lesser leg. They cap residual commissions at $27,500 per week (but good luck getting anywhere near that). You get paid $25 for every 240 GV accumulated on both sides.
They also offer matching bonuses, rank, and leadership bonuses.
Recap
They’ve got an actual product, and it seems to have some legit science behind it. That being said, it’s way too early to know whether or not their product will actually be successful.
Their compensation plan is fairly straightforward and transparent, but it’s nothing impressive. You’re definitely not getting rich off this company unless you get in early and make it to the top.
Since Vasayo just launched, now would definitely be the time to hop on board, if you’re set on this company.
But if you’re just looking for a way to start earning some side income, there are better options out there, even in the network marketing space.
