the clans do exist! they are just groups of slugcats that banded together to survive. galaxy team is also in existence, but Much Smaller. they travel rather than stay in one spot.

Ingo and Emmet are from outside the structure. they help ferry people over the seas of worm grass between other groups of slugcats. they don't usually travel into the structures.

“Finally, we’re home,” you exclaim as you drop your backpack and flop onto the bed in Arven’s dorm. 

“One of us is,” he grumbles under his breath. 

“Come on, dude. We’ve spent the past week together, what’s one more night gonna cost you?” 

The past 7 days have been spent traveling across Paldea with your friend. Finding and battling a few Titan Pokémon, getting a gym challenge out of the way over in Cascarrafa, and staying in hotels rather than camping so as to not scare your teams and each other away with your smells. It’s been fun, but you’re both exhausted and happy to be back in Mesagoza.

Arven deadpans you from his spot, leaning against the kitchen counter with a cup of water in hand. “My sanity,” he finally answers before taking a sip.

You snort. “Y’lost that ages ago.”

Squinting, Arven puts down his beverage and saunters over to you. “Maybe,” he says as he kneels on the bed, placing his palms on either side of you. “Just maybe, it’s because you’ve been driving me insane.”

Being in such a compromising position under your crush, your heart nearly beats right out of your chest. There’s always been some kind of tension between the two of you, but nothing you could put your finger on. You hope to Arceus that your face isn’t as flushed as it feels while you contemplate the possibility of Arven being just as attracted to you as you are to him.

You work past your nerves, in hopes of finally getting what you want from him. “I’ll take that as a compliment,” you retort with a smug grin. 

“Why would you do that?” Arven mutters, leaning down further. He looks annoyed, but speaks with a playful hint in his tone. 

Your faces are only a few inches apart, and Arven’s fringe threatens to poke your eye out. You’re hit with a surge of confidence as you brush his tresses away, twirling the thick blonde and brown strands between your fingertips.

“‘Cause…” You accidentally shudder when his breath, minty from a recently discarded stick of gum, tickles your face. “This feels more like a reward than anything.” 

Now able to see both of Arven’s eyes, you see them widen just a smidge before a devious smirk curves onto his lips. “Does it?” He leans in a little further, shifting onto his forearms.

With your vision plastered onto his lips, you nod and bring your palm to his temple. Cupping his face, but still keeping his hair out of your way. “Mhm.”

When your eyes veer up again, you notice his are trained on your own lips. He leans in again, sighs, and this time when he speaks, his mouth just barely brushes up against yours. “Why does it feel like you’re being a little perv right now?” His words are barely a whisper.

“Why does it feel like you like that I’m being a little perv?” 

A short laugh escapes Arven, and then another whisper. “Fuck you.” Then, his lips lock onto yours. 

You’d expected his kisses – if you ever so happened to receive them – to be soft, and a little rough around the edges. But this is just rough. 

You accidentally allow a tiny whimper to escape your throat as Arven wrestles his lips against yours. His breaths are heavy, and he’s growing greedier with every little smack against one another. Letting his large hands cup your face. Trailing one down your side. Bringing it back up and gently cupping it around your neck. He quietly yet devilishly laughs at your reactive moan, giving your throat a squeeze before lifting his straying hand to your cheek again. 

With the same hand that lightly choked you, Arven trails his thumb just underneath your mouth. As your kiss unlocks, and before you can go in for more, Arven takes your bottom lip under his thumb and pulls down slightly; leaving you open-mouthed, as he slips his tongue into your gasp. A satisfied hum escapes you both as your tongues twirl in tandem.

Arven pulls away just enough to mutter the few words you’ve been yearning to hear: Your name, followed by, “I really wanna fuck you.”

“Please.”

Arven leans up onto both knees, and you have to swallow back a whine as you watch him undo his belt with darkened irises. “Get undressed and flip over,” he commands. 

Oh.

“‘Kay,” you shyly answer. Comes out breathy and you’re a little embarrassed by that, but you barely care what you sound like. You’re about to get railed by Arven Sada-Turo and that’s the only thought that matters in your horny little mind right now.

Doing as he says, you strip yourself of your tie and short sleeved uniform top, as well as any undergarments you might have had on. Your eyes don’t leave Arven’s body as he does the same, exposing his beautifully stocky torso to you. Looks like a damn god beneath the rays of moonlight coming from his bedside window. The beams deliciously carve against each muscle in his arm and each curve on his tummy.

After impatiently fumbling to untie the string on your shorts, you finally rid yourself of them, as well as your socks and underwear. You feel a bit self-conscious, having your body so exposed like this, but the thought leaves your head when you lift your vision back up to Arven. 

Oh Arceus, that’s his dick. 

Arven’s dick is just a few feet in front of you. 

Has every dick you’ve seen looked this nice? Because you can’t remember ever finding anyone’s dick attractive before, but here you are, fucking ogling at his dick above all else.

“So slow…” Arven mumbles. You don’t need to look at his face to hear the smile in his voice as he complains that you’re basking in his naked body.

Leaning down a bit to reach you, Arven takes your hips beneath his palms and flips you over, propping you up on your hands and knees. You can’t help but look back over your shoulder, watching him as he drinks in the view of your body beneath him. He takes each of your asscheeks beneath his hands and rubs, then squeezes them tight, eliciting another whimper from you. 

“So needy,” Arven teases in response. His gaze meets yours and you squint at him. You don’t feel up for a snarky remark. You just want him to do something to you already.

As if Arceus heard your prayers, Arven pops his finger into his mouth, lowers it to your hole, and slowly inches it inside of you. Your eyes roll shut as you moan at the feeling, letting yourself bury your face into his pillow. His digit kindles a fire in your stomach with every preparative movement it makes. You hear him spit, and the next thrust feels much more lubricated. As he adds a second finger, and then then a third, pleasured tears form on your lash line.

“Shhh,” he hushes you, leaning his torso over yours. Fuck, you hadn’t even realized how loud your groans were becoming. “You want the entire floor to hear you?” he mutters into the crook of your neck before lightly nibbling it.

You shake your head, not trusting your voice to respond adequately. A quiet whine of protest is wrung from you as he removes his fingers. 

“You gonna be able to keep that pretty little mouth shut?”

“Yeah…” you lie between your teeth. As if his sweet nothings aren’t threatening to make you moan on their lonesome.

Your breath hitches when you feel something much thicker than a finger tease at your entrance. Peeking over your shoulder again, your eyes lock, and stay that way as Arven enters you. He’s the first to break, shutting his eyes and placing his forehead against yours while one of his hands self-soothingly squeezes your butt.

“Fuck,” Arven mutters. 

Slowly but surely, he continues rocking his hips into you. Back and forth, like a pendulum fading out of its rhythm. You know he’s probably just trying to last, but you want more. You need more.

“Harder,” you beg, “Fuck, please.”

Arven’s eyelids open, exposing his beautifully hungry aquamarine gaze to you. Sliding his bottom lip between his teeth, he grins, thrusting into you much harder than he has been. 

“Ahh, fuck!”

A shaky laugh escapes your lover. “S’that better?”

“Yes, so much… oh god, Arven!”

Still smiling, Arven steals your lips into another kiss. You feel his hand moving up your body, blunt nails lightly scratching from the small of your back up to your nape. Finally, he brings his palm up to your chin. He pulls away from your smooches just enough to slide his hand over your mouth and press down.

“Thought you were gonna be quiet for me,” he remarks, his eyes stabbing into your own. 

The only response you can muster is to moan into his hand. You’re flustered by the nonstop eye contact during this intimate little dance you two are doing, but something about that vulnerability turns you on more. Noticing how much you seem to be enjoying this, Arven pumps into you faster. Like a true gentleman, he uses his smooth, husky voice to further immerse you in the experience.

“You sound so cute,” he mutters, a shit-eating grin painting his features. “F-fuck, you feel so nice… y’must really like that I’m taking so much control, don’t you?” You nod, and he crashes into you with even more force. A low moan emits from him, making you shiver, before he keeps talking you through this. “Yeah? You like it when I use you like this?” 

You nod again, whining beneath his grip. Absolutely blissed out. He’s so fucking hot. It’s a shame you can’t tell him what you’re thinking, but that’s alright, because something about him using his gigantic hand to shut you up while he talks down to you is invigorating.

In the next few seconds, you feel the muscles in your body begin to tighten. A particularly loud, muffled whine escapes you, and Arven does you the favor of removing his hand from your face, placing it against the back of your head. 

“Ahah, fuck, Arven!” You’re cautious to keep as quiet as you can, but boy, if it isn’t a struggle. “I’m gonna...!” 

As you slightly push your ass back against Arven’s hips, you feel his cock harden and twitch inside you. He shuts his eyes and lets out a hearty groan before dipping into another sloppy kiss. You moan and nearly-deliriously laugh into his lips as you both cum. The feeling of him filling you heightens the sensation, leaving your orgasm satisfying from start to finish. 

After you’re both done, Arven practically collapses onto you, forcing your body down to the bed with an “Oof!”

Unable to believe that this finally fucking happened, you lay limp for a few moments while Arven catches his breath.

“Holy shit,” he mumbles against your shoulder.

“You’re tellin’ me…” 

Arven slips out of you and rolls onto his back. Feeling too lazy to get up and towel off just yet, you stay where you are, only turning your head to face it towards Arven. When you look at him, he’s already looking at you. 

“Great job out there, sport,” he jokes.

You choke out a giggle and meet his fist bump. “Fucking nerd,” you sass, unable to hide your wide grin from him as he tangles your fingers between his.

The two of you lay like this for a few minutes as your exhaustion from all the traveling amongst other things catches up to you. Until you get up to clean yourselves up, the only movements consist of planting kisses and soft, experimental touches against one another.

How would you rank the gens?

Ope I feel like I'm gonna upset some people LOL so disclaimer remember these are just my takes.

But this is how I personally see them (counting remakes as being part of the gen they remaking):

Gen 9 - Paldea Region

I've been thinking about this since the games came out, so I'd like to say recency bias isn't as much of a factor here. Bugs aside, I genuinely, genuinely love the storytelling, characterizations, and open world approach. FRIENDS THAT FEEL LIKE ACTUAL FRIENDS?? HAVING THE LEGENDARY WITH YOU THE WHOLE TIME, AND IT TOO HAS A PERSONALITY & BACKSTORY??? THREE SEPERATE STORYLINES THAT CONNECT TO A CANONICALLY DEAD PROFESSOR AND AN "EVIL AI" FINAL BOSS??? Like omg. I was amazed. I honestly usually dislike the "gimmicks" each generation brings, but terastilization caught my interest and I have a strong feeling nothing will personally top it as a gimmick for me. The DLCs really sent it all home for me for the #1 spot, like oh my god LOL. Past DLCs always just felt like something extra, but I literally cannot see this game as being complete without Kieran, Carmine & the rest of Kitakami/Blueberry peeps & their storylines. My interest in the games only grew because of all of it - and that's a massive compliment given the fact of how hard it is to accomplish such a level of monumental significance with only a few hours of gameplay. I've yet to replay the game with earlier access to The Teal Mask, but I feel like this would make it even more immersive. Just pure chef kisses here.

Gen 2 - Johto Region

A very close second. Heartgold/Soulsilver is the most elite remake in existence and idc if it's old school, I'll die on this hill. Johto is just so full of life - the continuation story is amazing, the immersion into culture and legendary stuff??? Mwah. Silver is an excellent rival, RED being a thing (the ultimate level of iconicism), and the double region will always hit. The soundtracks HIT and my god hearing them remastered iS INCREDIBLE. I even get obsessed with the pokeathlon dome and I'm usually not someone who gets into that kind of stuff. But THEY MADE IT FUN. And I love all the cute activities you can do with your team that can follow you around. So glad they brought this feature back. :')

Gen 5 - Unova Region

Oooooh I loved the reset of Gen 5. It's based on where I'm from and there were so many refreshing aspects of Black & White. From the new pokemon, to the NYC culture, to N & the whole beautiful storytelling there, and a sequel that somehow made everything even MORE polished. I literally remember referring to this region as the "Isshu Region" before the English names dropped becuase of the hype LOL. 10/10, cannot wait for these remakes. Gamefreak don't mess this up.

Gen 4 - Sinnoh Region

Oh, Gen 4. You hit good. The lowkey dreary vibes of Sinnoh is very nostalgic to me, and Piplup is one of my best buddies. Cynthia being the very first female Champion, and being as fearsome as she is, was such a big deal to me. Definetely Barbie'd her a bit in my mind because I look a like her and loved how much of an academic she was (but I def do not have her length in hair, lmao). Soundtracks are fire, of course. The way legendaries were integrated in the story without going too Dragonball Z was IMMACULATE, and the lake trio will always be my fave lil buddies. The only con I'd give this gen is that I disliked the HM reliance & D/P are practically unplayable to me since Platinum exists. I had low bars for the remake once I heard it wasn't Platinum, and ugh, they really dropped the ball. HOWEVER: while it isn't main line, I fucking love Legends: Arceus and would rather have that over an excellent remake, tbh.

Gen 1 - Kanto Region

This is another nostalgia one for me because of the fact that I quite literally was introduced to pokemon since before I can recall most memories (this is what happens when you have an older sibling with a gameboy, lol). It's probably tied with Gen 4, tbh. Firered wasn't my first game, but it hit really good because I "played" so much of R/B/Y. I know Gen 1 has its faults, and it's often seen as being pretty bare bones in comparison to other generations. And while I completely agree, god damn, what a good foundation for a franchise. Every town had a personality to it and is very memorable to me. The soundtracks are FIRE. Smaller pokedex, but damn does team building hit (and the starters are elite). Blue was also consistently my favorite rival until Kieran, lol. #oldrivalshipping/conflictingshipping was the original OTP xD

Gen 7 - Alola Region

So there's a lot of things I liked about Gen 7. It took a really big risk by breaking the formula, and it really immersed me into the Hawaiian culture & seeing your pokemon more as friends. I loved looking at pokemon in a different way and some of the pokemon introduced in this region are among my favorites (e.g. Ribombee, Bewear, Shiinotic, Mimikyu, Rockaruff, to name a few; starters also HIT). NEBBY AND LILLIE ARE ELITE. The professor is so lit, and Team Skull is the funniest team organization alive. AND YES, GET RID OF THE HMS. I honestly think a remake would make this gen jump up a bit more for me - the 3DS could barely handle this game, and it was showing. The facial expressions also need some work LOL, and I honestly dread the tutorial of the game. I like the ultrabeasts conceptually, but the execution of their involvement in the game is very DragonBall Z-ified. Ultra Necrozma lowkey would've been an amazing time for a "light" type even if it didn't make much sense, but hey, it was an awesome nuzlocke-killing moment anyway. xD

Gen 8 - Galar Region

I actually have a lot of play time for this gen. I was very obsessed with it when it came out, and could probably get glued to it all the same nowadays. But in hindsight, I realize a lot of my attachment to it was because of the semi-open worldness & ability to create a lot of different kinds of teams with a lot of new and old pokemon I like (I also liked having access to things earlier, like Ice Types before the end of the game lmfao). I still have a few things I really enjoy outside of it, though, like Hop's storyline & the setup of the gyms being in this stadium, sports-esque setting. But the plot? Eh. I have a lot of constructive criticism on how some shortcuts were made, and especially with the whole darkest day stuff lol. The only thing I liked about that fight was the dogs coming in and being cool; I wasn't impressed by or interest in Eternatus at all. The Leon fight afterward was fun, though! But oof, those weird men with the sword and shield hair afterwards were also just...no. :D DLCs also didn't quite hit that hard - it was more about having more pokemon than anything for me. So overall, it's fun to play, but I'd definitely change up the plot to make it better.

Gen 3 - Hoenn Region

This is where I think some people might wanna fight me, and to that I say you're probably valid. I don't know what it is with the Hoenn region because I actually don't have too many critiques about it (e.g., let's have less water routes); I just have never been able to get into it quite the same as I can others. I should honestly give it another shot, but I think I'd wanna do Emerald over Omega Ruby/Sapphire given the route they took everything with the remake lol. That's about all I have to say on this one since I never really connected with it as much!

Gen 6 - Kalos Region

This one feels like an especially hot take to have atm given where the pokemon community is in general LOL. Critical opinions ahead......Listen...no offense, but Gen 6 just ain't it for me at all. xD It's probably the one gen I actively dislike. The games felt way too easy with too much hand-holding/handouts, Team Flare & Diantha were a joke (and I'm not even a competitive player), and the whole group of friends felt more like an annoyance to me more than anything. They just weren't flushed out right. Neither was the plot. Like what was that plot. Outside of that, a lot of things just felt like "Look! Pokemon is in 3D now!!" over and over again because of how rushed the game was. So other than introducing fairy types & having pretty protagonists with some new clothing options, this gen is pretty forgettable to me. And that's a shame, because I like pokemon! I was one of those people who were curious on if we were gonna connect to Kalos for Gen 9, but I'd geniunely pick the DLCs we got any day of the week. I don't think Legends ZA will change much of my opinion on the mainline game, but given how much I loved Legends Arceus, I'm hoping it can be used to retcon & generate more interest/connection to the Kalos region in general.

i want to take a short moment here to speculate about some things i just found in pokemon violet and what that might mean for the next pokemon games coming up (as well as maybe some volo reference?) putting this under a cut since there are sorta mild spoilers here? maybe? like probably not really considered spoliers but just to be safe ;w; for context this involves something mentioned in one of the later history lectures at the academy and some information in the Scarlet/Violet Book (also found at the academy on the ground floor in the entrance hall):

ok the first thing i want to mention that piqued my interest is what Ms. Raifort talks about during the History (4) lecture:

now of course this merchant could be anyone, but my heart really wants to believe that this was volo and not just because i’m such a huge volo fan and want to see him again (hhhh volo please come back... 😭) - but also because of what’s mentioned in a curious little book called the Violet Book (or the Scarlet Book I would assume if you’re playing Scarlet version) this is the page I’m referring to:

Heath talks here about wandering off from the exploration team, only to wake up when found unconscious by the team later on to remembering nothing but talking with someone in an unfamiliar place, like he was in a dream... obviously there’s some interesting stuff going on in the drawing/writing he references on the left that he has no memory of doing but... I have to wonder. who is this person he spoke with? and where? again, would looooove to speculate that this is volo, that he maybe is a time traveler, something like that, and in addition to him being the merchant that brought the king the treasures. again, big speculation here buuuut i’d love to believe it 😭 another thing that REALLY got my interest was this (in the same book, the Violet Book):

this imagined pokemon... verrrrry much looks like an amalgamation of the swords of justice from unova (with maybe a dialga butt? lol) now, we of course know we’re most likely going to at least get remakes of gen 5 in the near(er) future. but what’s way more curious about this all is what Scarlet’s version of the imagined pokemon looks like in their book:

Raikou, Entei and Suicune. the Johto trio. are we maybe getting a legends game based in johto? in addition to the gen 5 remakes for unova? or maybe we also get a legends game for unova? like why these three, y’know? JUST... HHHH... like this is made even MORE curious for me because, tying back into Volo, I’ve seen a lot of people mention that he would definitely be interested in the Sinjoh Ruins since it has ties to Arceus and the Ruins of Alph (IN JOHTO) and just- I dunno... it’s just so interesting to me again, wild speculation on my part but this stuff definitely caught my attention and i had to talk about it a little bit ;w;

Ages ago back when Legends Arceus first came out, I toyed with the idea of completing a shiny dex. (Replacing every dex picture with its shiny counterpart) I got halfway through before massive mass outbreak hunting kinda killed my motivation. But! With Eevee week in Violet finally letting me complete the entire shiny eevee family, I regained some of that former vigor and have decided to give it another go!

I won’t spam you with updates since this is first and foremost an art/writing blog, but since I mostly do submas stuff I thought some of you might be mildly interested lol.

My two rules for myself are-

1: Transferring from other games is both allowed and encouraged. Shiny hunting distortion spawns is an exercise in misery and I will not participate in its madness. Those bad boys are getting Mesuda methoded

2: I’m not doing legendaries or mythicals. While I DO have the resources to do most of them, I find legendary hunts boring and uninteresting. (It’s mostly loading screens) And they’re long!! I could maybe do it if I only had to do one… but 10ish is far far too many (especially since I’d have to replay through bdsp TWICE to even START some hunts) Hunting all the legendaries would take up most of the time if I let it

Anyway, I’ll only post about my progress every so often (less then once a week lol) but if you want to block them completely I’ll be using the tag #blue’s shiny hunting adventures

All that being said- I’m currently at about 123/224!

Shinies I’ve transferred from other games so far include:

- a shiny patcharisu that I caught in bdsp via radar

- a shiny magikarp and garados I caught in a new years event in sword AGES ago

- a shiny sneasel (+weavile dex entry) that I hunted in violet named Lady Baby

- a shiny bergmite who I hunted in Violet named Akari (who I did NOT evolve so I’ll need a new one anyway)

- a shiny umbreon and espeon who I painstakingly hatched with perfect IVS in Violet

- a shiny vaporeon who I spent AGES hunting in Violet

- a shiny flareon and glaceon who I accidentally ran into ten seconds apart from each other when I wandered into their mass outbreak in Violet

- a shiny jolteon and leafeon who I casually hunted for and found later that day in Violet

- a shiny abamasnow, rufflet (+braviary dex entry), snorunt (+frostless dex entry), toxicroak, and golduck I found randomly while playing Violet

Since starting this challenge yesterday I have found a shiny starly, chatot, remoraid (+octillery dex entry), and tangela!

I also currently am at 32 perfect dex entries and will hopefully have more by the end of this lol

And, of course, here’s my current shinies physically in Legends Arceus!

Hi, I hope you’re doing good in life!

So obviously pokemon legends arceus never got another update or dlc and it probably never will at this point, (which still makes me a little sad tbh) but in a world where it did get more updates what would you have liked to see? I person would’ve loved a dlc where we could go to Iron Island, Full Moon Island, and New Moon Island, and the area that became the battle resort in the post game of DPPT. Also I would’ve liked to see Darkrai and Cresselia’s lore and story fleshed out in this hypothetical DLC. It was cool that Darkrai was legitimately catchable in Arceus without being locked behind an event, but it also seemed rather random that he was in the Coronet Highlands, same with Cresselia. In platinum after you catch Darkrai there’s an unknown voice (Arceus’s voice perhaps?) That says Darkrai’s power is so strong that it purposely isolates itself on New Moon Island and that if anyone were to fall into it’s nightmare, Full Moon Island is close by. I could just imagine a quest in the game where the player goes to New Moon Island and they fall into a nightmare but don’t even realize it and you have to play through the characters really messed up dream until you finally encounter Darkrai and catch it. That would’ve been so cool. Also here’s a picture of a shiny Darkrai I caught in my Pokémon diamond recently that I caught through glitches and RNG manipulation.

I will avoid answering this question with the obvious submas fan answer cause I’ve said it before lol, but there were definitely other things I had wanted from another possible PLA DLC!!

The biggest thing I would have wanted was similar to yours; a new area to explore!! I loved PLA’s scenery, and would have loved another possible biome to find and see. Something I would have wanted with that was new Pokémon added to the dex for us to study. Like how SWSH’s DLCs added new pokemon to its dex. And maybe a couple new NPCs to meet and talk with too for a little self-contained DLC side story.

Another thing I would have loved would have been to see them add a quality of life update, where your pokemon could follow you around instead of just stay in one spot when you let them out of their pokeballs. Again, like SWSH’s isle of armor DLC.

And I often see DLC add new clothing options as well, so that would have been fun!!

And this one is the most vague of course, but man, more DLC would mean more possible story. More quests, more interacting with NPCs and more chances to see them and their personalities!! I will always want more of that from PLA :(

Oh I’m SUPER curious now. What would RB’s actual quotes be for the battle stuff that goes on in Legends Arceus? Things like their quotes for how they’d react to seeing an Alpha for the first time, getting hit by a wild Pokémon’s attack, fall damage, being spotted while sneaking up on a mon, low HP, battling a Noble Mon and stuff like that!

ooo you mean like if she had NPC stock dialogue type of quotes? 🤔hmm. honestly the lack of general dialogue options for the player character in PLA kind of makes this easier, but the way i took the story and developed it far beyond the simplified game plot makes it a bit harder lol. actually let me just lift a few bits from what i've drafted already!

her first time seeing an Alpha (or at least the first time she knows it's an Alpha) is actually when helping out Mai with the Kricketune. she's not paying attention to the explanation of Alphas so much as she's just staring at it like :/ "i don't mind bugs, i even like them, but this one is as tall as i am and i don't know how to feel about it"

getting hit by an attack is just a lot of cursing tbh. the first time a Zubat nips her she just starts praying that Poké-rabies doesn't exist please please please plea-- but honestly she starts giving back as good as she gets? she throws rocks at territorial Buizel that try hosing her from a distance, she dropkicks Paras before sprinting away, she gets very good ducking away from diving Staraptors and tossing one of her partners to nail them in the back. after months of being constantly annoyed by Drifloon pursuing her whenever she sets foot outside after sunset, she actually spins around and grabs one dogging her footsteps and literally POPS it with her bare hands! it's this kind of irritated pushback at local wildlife that earns her a dangerous reputation in Jubilife

her reactions to the Nobles vary wildly. battling Kleavor is mostly just. sad. this is an old creature being pushed to his limit by an outside force and she pities him despite the fact he's already managed to cut open her shoulder. Lilligant is more of a whirlwind she doesn't have time to think coherent thoughts about when she's just trying not to get hit, trying to breathe through the smoke, trying not to twist her ankle again, trying not to slip in the mud-- ouch being tackled by a plant ballerina SUCKS. dealing with Arcanine is... terrifying. RB isn't in there alone at least, she's got Iscan backing her up, but that's one more person to worry about and the active lava should be boiling them alive and it's raining so she can barely see through the steam and oh my god i'm going to die. Electrode is the worst one by far, being so fast and so dangerous and probably the most stressful event she's ever had to survive. with Avalugg by comparison she's almost willing to die, simply because the Noble is so huge that she feels like she's trying to fight a force of nature and honestly if she fails she's not going to blame herself for losing against a mountain.

i'm really glad that i started with pokemon at the time and age that i did. there's a lot of reasons for this but i'm thinking about two in particular atm:

i was precocious with academics as a child and constantly felt bored by stuff that was considered to be for my age range. playing pokemon leafgreen for the first time on my 5th birthday required me to read dialogue/signs/etc, do some basic number processing, and use logical thinking to get to the end in ways that other games i had tried did not, and it gave me the freedom to do so at my own pace without having a cartoon character in annoying voice ask me if i can do XYZ like most edutainment games at the time lol

pokemon was easy to pick up in terms of controls, 99% of it is moving on a grid and navigating menus, which once their UI was learned, were incredibly easy to control. there is no need to have fast reaction time or the ability to do complex controller input. so long as i was willing to engage with the rpg mechanics i felt confident as a 5 year old with some motor skill issues with navigating the game

it's interesting to me because a lot of people don't like RPGs and even if they play pokemon, they may not like the RPG aspects of them, which is fine. but for me all of the RPG mechanics of pokemon slotted perfectly into my child brain that craved Brain Stimulation and only had a history of edutainment games prior. it really showed too because as i got older i did shit like discovering that IVs/EVs existed before they were ever so much as mentioned to me, of course i didn't have the name for them but just for fun i experimented with raising two of the same pokemon species to the same level after hatching them from eggs (level 20 or something) and noticed that despite being the same species and level, they had different stats, which must have meant pokemon were genetically different from each other. i found the math-y stuff genuinely interesting before i had any context for competitive etc later in life

additionally even now i sometimes struggle with more complex controls, like i love legends arceus but i think it took me longer to figure out navigating that game than most people and games that are more difficult or require more complex inputs or better reaction time tend to be really inaccessible for me. i'm very happy to just interact with a menu, i love turn based battles and the notion that they are objectively outdated when i find them genuinely engaging is so annoying

i started thinking about this because i tried to get my mom to play let's go eevee a while back since it's a pokemon game made for beginners basically, but i did not anticipate just how difficult she would find basic navigation using the controller - catching pokemon, the main part of the game, was incredibly frustrating for her, but she could do the battles alright. with pokemon moving in an open world, 3D direction, it requires you to get used to the controller if you don't want to be falling off stuff and running into pokemon constantly. and while SV isn't particularly hard to navigate or anything, and kids are getting into tech earlier and earlier than they ever were when i was little, i still really appreciate the simplicity of control when i was younger and i think it's interesting how much other people hate the relative slowness of RPGs and value freedom of movement and action a lot to the point of considering turn based gameplay really outdated while it's still my preferred way to play video games lol

Silly Game Time: Who are some of your favorite reptile characters? And what do you like about them?

They could be fully a real reptile (snakes, lizards, crocodilians--heck I'll even let you include amphibians like frogs, toads, newts, and salamanders if you want), partially reptile (like naga a partially humans and dragons are partually anything else), humanoid from fantasy or sci-fi (kobolds or silurians, etc.), or something else entirely. All that matters is that they're reptilain or reptoid.

Some of my favorite reptilian characters would have to be Wrex and Grunt from Mass Effect. I really enjoy having them as companions when I’ve played the games, and really liked Wrex’s development from a bitter and cynical mercenary in the first game to being an optimist and forefront leader in rebuilding his people. Grunt is loveable and is like a son for my (and most people let’s be honest) Commander Shepard. I also really like Javik from the third Mass Effect, but to be honest I spent like 15 minutes on the Mass Effect Wiki trying to determine if Protheans are reptilian or not and couldn’t find an answer, so I’ll leave that up to you to determine).

These ones have less personality, but I’m also a HUGE fan of the Deity/Creation trio of legendary Pokémon: Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina

They feel the most unique out of all the legendaries to me by simple virtue of being undisputedly GODS, and in Legends: Arceus are actually treated as such, rather than being “potentially very powerful animals” like virtually every single other legendary out there. It’s just fun, unique, and makes for great stories and thoughts about the world of Pokémon and I want more stories and legendaries like them. Maybe we’ll get lucky with Legends: Z-A, even if it’s in one of my least favorite regions lol. There’s also the Paradox duo, Koraidon and Miraidon, sort of on the opposite spectrum with being “powerful wild animals”, but it’s out of spending the whole story of Scarlet/Violet with them and loving them as a companion. Affectionally calling them “Sandwich Dog”, as my partner and I put it.

(There’s also Godzilla, but Godzilla needs no introduction or explanation. It’s Godzilla. {this is being typed last minute before I hit send in editing lol})

In terms of real life reptile “characters”… it’s a lot harder to say. I don’t follow reptile blogs or popular reptiles so I don’t know any individual reptiles to claim to be a fan of. I do, however, deeply love the American Alligator and find it fascinating and fun to see them when I get the chance to be in Florida, and love seeing all the stuff dedicated to the species and want to make sure they’re protected and properly thrive. They also taste GREAT, but that’s besides the point lmao. I also really like learning about all the species of reptiles that came before in Earth’s past, from the marine reptiles like mosasaurus to the actual dinosaurs.

So this is something that I talked about before but it's nice to actually explain it: The Timeless and the cults. I'll hopefully not make this super long lol.

I'm realizing, thinking about it, there's a lot to unpack, so for now, I'll keep things short by explaining the relationship between the Timeless and the first Infernal cult leader, who is Jaern's ancestor.

In my rewrite I pretty much. Tossed out the old Timeless and replaced them with my own ocs lol. The two important ones for this little story is Vasilios ( my replacement of Verysn) and Nikolas. Vasil is/was the king of Torren in this au, and was chosen by Diancie. Vasil was the one that stumbled upon the void gauntlet/the throne of hegemon ( which might get some tweaks later on we'll see). He fell into the pool of starry waters, which was made him see glimpses of what to come- Nyx, chosen ones, the crystal- all of which had led Vasil to Arceus. That's when Arceus itself gave Vasil his duty to protect the crystal and was ultimately chosen by Diancie ( via Arceus). Nikolas is Vasil's right hand man, a head knight who is severely loyal to his king. He is also the chosen one of Keldeo. Him and Vasil are in love. Just thought I'd mention that.

Jaern's ancestor was a good friend to both of them. How exactly they all met I haven't fleshed out but the vague idea I have is that they found her one day, took her in and they've been friends ever since ( Nik used to be jealous of her, given how close she and Vasil would be. She would tease him for it later down the line lol. They became good friends!). Jaern's ancestor ( I should really get a name for her) was a genuinely kind woman. She wanted to help the world in earnest, and thus has taken up medicine. Despite her efforts though, she always mused on how she wishes she could do more for the world. That is, until she stumbled upon the crystal. I don't think I thought out how she found it- maybe I explained it before but I forgot. But she did, and was ecstatic! Something with immense power- it could heal so many people! Vasil, however, wasn't as pleased that she found out. I should mention that Vasil is a sweetheart. He truly is. If it was up to him, he would have used the crystals power to make his home so much better for everyone, but it's still a crystal with infinite power. If gotten to the wrong hands, it could be disastrous, especially when Nyx is a looming threat (according to Arceus n his visions). It was too much of a risk. So when Jaern's ancestor suggested making the crystal public, Vasil adamantly denied it. It had caused a small argument between the two, but it ended with Vasil convincing Jaern's ancestor to just let it go, that the risk of it all would be too great ( without mentioning the whole Arceus stuff).

And that was that.....until it wasn't.

Jaern's ancestor does have a deep sense of justice within her. She wants to help the world, but never seems to have the right resources to do so. The crystal would be on her mind for ages. It would help heal the world, it could help so many people if Vasil just let it be known! That was when she decided to take a risk of her own: she attempted to take the crystal for herself. She snuck into the caves, found the crystal again, and just when she tried to take it- it wouldn't budge. Vasil and Nik was there behind her ( she didn't realize she was being followed), and explained that the only way for the crystal to be moved is if you beat the original owner in battle- him. Jaern's ancestor had no pokemon, nor any proper combat training. She would not win, even if she tried. Again, she tried to reason with him, tried to convince him that it would help so many people - but her going back to the crystal was already enough. With a heavy heart, Vasil exiled Jaern's ancestor. He couldn't take that risk. No matter how much it hurts seeing the pain in her face.

Vasil allowed her to gather her things before leaving. He was not expecting her to gather some doctors and healers to leave with her. He didn't expect her to quietly vow getting the crystal for all to use. He hadn't expected her to form the first cult. The Sky Cult......though if you'd ask her, she'd looked at you with disgust if you call what she's doing "cult work". I can't stress enough, Jaern's ancestor isn't doing what she's doing for power. She just wants people to have the resources they need to live, and the absolute best one is literally being hidden away. And she thinks that's unfair. Truly unfair. And even if she doesn't get the crystal ( which she is determined to get), she won't stop helping where she can. Exiled or not.

Some smaller things

Pre- Crystal, Jaern's ancestor had always had a connection to the sky. You'd find her playing her lute on a high place when the sky is nice and clear.

Vasil and her LOVED teasing Nikolas lol. Vasil even more so, in her opinion, but he denies it. She Knows What's Up though.

Post Exile Jaern's ancestor went from someone who was pretty dainty in appearance to someone who ended up being fairly muscular.

At some point she ends up dying, perhaps in a final battle between her and Vasil. I think despite everything, they consider each other their greatest friends, and deeply respect each other. Her death is one of Vasil's biggest regrets.

In connection to the above, I also imagined that by that point she had a child and husband. I think her final wish was for them to live comfortably. Vasil made sure her wish came true.

As for how I discovered Submas- it's quite an odd story. Roughly 7 years ago my friend showed me a screenshot of N and Emmet, with Emmet running away with N's toy trains. I'll post the picture here in a bit. But I thought it was hilarious and saved it to my own phone. I was a little curious about who Emmet was (especially since it was clear he was associated with trains, which I've loved all my life) but I never really gave it much thought after that. Fast forward to about a day after Legends Arceus released, I meet Ingo. But I didn't know he was Ingo- I thought he was Emmet. I kinda forgot about Emmet over the years so when I saw Ingo I was like "Oh, silly train guy is here. What's his name again? Emmet?" But as the minutes passed I started remembering what Emmet looked like, with the white uniform and smile. And this man looked nothing like him but also exactly like him. I thought maybe I was imagining things, until Ingo introduced himself, and I started to connect the dots: Emmet has a twin.

So I do more research and find out they're known as the Subway Bosses, from Pokemon Black and White (my favorite Pokemon games) and that they're Battle Facility leaders. I start looking into them more, finding Battle Subway fanart and reading fics, and as I played Legends Arceus more I became super attached to Ingo. And it wasn't long before I got attached to Emmet too! I started to really fall down the Submas rabbit hole in late February 2022- February 22nd to be exact, as that was my first Multi Battle with Ingo and Emmet. (I got destroyed lol)

Oh yeah here's the photo I mentioned earlier:

I kinda laugh at the thought that this photo introduced a future favorite character, and that it had such a big effect 7 years later.

As for which twin I like more... It's both! There's something to love in both Ingo and Emmet, and I'll probably make a ramble post in the future about everything I love about them!

Ooh, boy, this might be a telling one. Answering this is tough because, while I've gathered sprinkles of inspiration from many sources over the years, I don't often consider them until I'm working on something it's particularly relevant to. It's not something I'm conscious about. I know I have *been* inspired by things, but it's more in relation to individual elements, for example, that have been soaked into my sponge brain. Like - they did X thing in X media, I want to do/put a twist on/consider that, that sort of thing.

Individual works I'm making might have different inspirations, too, that I may reference. Originally, I think this was gonna be a complicated way of saying "I don't", but I suppose that's not true - the answer is actually "I don't remember". I forget, so I need to keep reading to fill in the gaps again. Whoops!

Beyond canon material for any given fanfic, I guess there are a couple things that jump out. (Excuse me not being able to hyperlink right now lol)

In terms of fanworks:

The most honest answer would probably be pretty much any work by https://archiveofourown.org/users/DyraDoodles (particularly in terms of FF7). I've not got the braincells to explain it right now but their sort of writing, *chefs kiss*. When struggling to get into the writing brain, their stuff always helps

I originally found it while writing my own goose-based fic I never finished, but it's something I keep coming back to for the way it executed itself. Very clean and effective! Helpful example for writing some fanfic trope

In terms of non-fanfic inspiration, I read a lot less original stuff than I used to, and I wouldn't call a lot of what I've read more recently inspiring to my own work. I have, however, almost finished reading Dracula, which I did not expect to be as impactful as it was. It's a very fun read, and gets the gears clicking. I can't tell you it's inspired any particular element or theme, but it does inspire me to write good!

...Man, I need to read Pratchett again. I haven't read any since I was like 12 and I think it would be good for me

Also meet MagiCHARA cuz 1) I honestly feel like Chara would totally become a Magikarp cuz the whole LV20 motif with Chara, like in Genocide when Chara becomes LV20 by taking the players LV, EXP (since Chara is the narrator and she more or less confirms it at the end of genocide that Frisk basically uses her stats) and at LV20 Chara is strong enough to literally yeet the entire game into the void/world/timeline And even ignore TRUE RESETs (since she still remembers your Genocide run and prevents the Player from ever getting the happy pacifist ending and makes the player think she kills everyone on the Surface anyways to show the Player/Frisk that you aren't above consequences and stuff)

And Gyarados according to the pokedex can annihilate entire fucking cities with a single Hyper Beam or something???? (and can also be very very angry, which reminds me of Chara too when you finally meet the first fallen human in Undertale during the Genocide run like she's EXTREMELY pissed at the player for probably killing off all the monsters she loved/died for to save and stuff- *WHich also happens at Level 20 if you let Magikarp evolve into a Gyarados)

but= ye. For the drawing my thoughts were also like: What if the Primal form did something a little extra as well to Dialga instead of just only a color change?? (Hence why in my drawing Dialga has extra fangs, more streamers through out his body pumping in more power the more his anger rises) Since Bulbapedia's explanation for the Primal form for Dialga made it totally sound like it's some sort of corruption or something since Dialga loses all sense of sanity, morals and so on and only focuses on self-preservation and stuff and can even only communicate through growls and roars apparently if Dialga loses too much of his sanity to the Primal state-

And Chara sees this happening to her brother and desperately wants to help him (also for the PMD/PTA AU Dialga either doesnt recognize Chara being his sister since she's a Magikarp now and he remembers her being a human) OR he doesnt remember Chara at all and immediately just assumes she's lying, but Chara remembers being adopted by Arceus and stuff- and idk

And then Palkia in the Post-game also attacks her once he realizes Chara is from a diferent universe altogether *Undertale* And gets pissed thinking she's an enemy for disrupting Space and stuff-

and yeah- thats all I got for this AU tbh

//ALso I know Magikarp is not one of the Starters you can choose to become or whatever in the PMD Universe but frick you okay- Magikarp SHOULD be one for those psycho people like me who likes making games 10 million times harder for no goddamn reason and Magikarp is adorable so REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE- XD//

For PokeTale: Ascendance

An AU based off of an RP between me and a friend of mine from my discord server discord.gg/pQf9ZsdF6E where the Creation Trio as babies (a time they all cant really fully control their powers and junk) accidentally create a portal into the Undertale Universe and meet Chara and basically Arceus finds Chara and adopts her after finding out about her shitty human parents and Chara ends up helping Arceus raise the babies and basically lives in the Pokemon Universe now

((And ALso yes. Up until the Dialga Boss fight, MagiChara was mostly just there as Moral Support and to be annoying/narrate for Riolu sometimes lol

And also used as occassionally a weapon to be yeeted at Enemies for being annoying and a bew lmao)) 

//FYI: The Riolu has been replaced with Volopi (Togepi but its Volo that's been turned into a Togepi) and thus retconned

Some fun facts & trivia about you: I know my integer squares up the 22? Did I mention I love math? Studying game design at a technical school rn, and I know six programming languages atm (JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Java, C#, and Python). I also programmed a text-only GBA combat sim in Python earlier this year. Took a couple weeks and I did that instead of my Physics work :D

What non-Fire Emblem games do you play? ...So here's the thing. (JKJKJK) Uh..... I like Triangle Strategy, Hades, I've been meaning to finish the original Ori :shrek_mmh:, and Omori went crazy but I'm not playing it again (it's best on a blind playthrough). I also really enjoyed Undertale! Don't have much else on my backlog tho haha

Favorite Pokemon type & Pokemon: So I don't really Pokemon. BUT. I do love Squirtle and Wartortle and I had a Gible named Nom Nom in Pokemon Arceus. Favorite type though would probably be Dragon or Dark. lol

How did you get into Fire Emblem? Back when I was in 3rd grade, my mother gave me and my brothers a Wii with Super Smash Bros Brawl! I was a Sheik main but my brother got me to play some other characters, including Marth, Pit, and Ike. I didn't like Ike for his slowness but Marth and Pit were good for my style of play. I later followed him into Fire Emblem Heroes hell, and then later into emulating Sacred Stones! Didn't finish it until after Three Houses came out though. Finished Azure Moon in three weeks (including school).

What Fire Emblem games have you played? I've beaten Sacred Stones and Three Houses, most of Engage, roughly half of Valentia, the first few chapters of Genealogy, Shadow Dragon, and Binding, and the demo of Awakening. Also about half of Three Hopes but that doesn't count it's a Warriors game (also through most of Book 5 in FEH) :/

First Fire Emblem game: Sacred Stones! The first I finished was 3H though lol

How did you find TOA? Okay so while I was still relatively new to Tumblr, I was browsing tags and a previous Dimitri's posts (the art especially caught my attention it was incredible) were coming up under the Dimitri tag (the mun knows who they are). When I looked at the blog and saw it was dedicated to Dimitri, I got completely suspicious of it immediately :crylaugh: Ended up digging around though and saw the art style was consistent, and after I got past the drabble at the top I realized it was a roleplay blog, which. While I was still new, I was accustomed from Twitter to people being both god artists and god writers, so I figured it was just all by one person. Followed it for a few months (which I got exposed for when I reserved Linhardt but I still find that hilarious so it's fine), and eventually the August activity check popped up last year and I decided to join. Yay! (Never found out who 'mun' was tho :/ (this is a jest))

Current TOA muses: Linhardt, Colm, and Valter!

Who was your first TOA muse? If you don’t have them anymore, could you see yourself picking them up again? Also Linhardt! lol. While I don't expect to be dropping him soon (looks away), if I ever did, I have a feeling he'd be back eventually. Adore my little genderball.

Do you think you have a type of character you gravitate towards? Hm...... Well I know I have a type, but it's hard to put into words haha. Anyone who makes me laugh I guess? And people who are super duper attached to their role in life (think knights and knight-adjacents like Selena and Glen). There's something going on in their noggins that is just so. (STARES) Also people who scare me with their in-game dialogue. (Valter, but TS Dimitri applies as well FNDJKNG.)

What do you believe you enjoy writing the most? I'm not really certain, but I know I have a LOT of fun whenever I craft dialogue. Me and my incapability to be quiet (endearing)

Favorite TOA-related memory: A close one would be two of the muns recognizing me when I submitted the Linhardt reserve, but I also get a kick out of Linhardt climbing a tree to escape a boar during Unscripted last year fnjsdkngsf. The birthday wishes back in May also made me explode (positive) EDIT: I FORGOT SIRIUS ROLLING VALTER FOR HIS LIEGE DURING KKE!!!!! THAT WAS HILARIOUSSSSSSSSS (so was patty's crush on valter. makes me cackle every time)

Got any delusions that didn’t see the light of day in TOA that you’d like to share? I might still make use of my Saleh blog. I have an idea I want to go for, but he isn't the biggest delusion right now. Neimi might also have a shot, but I don't expect to be doing anything for Lukas or Hubert any time soon.
