ritsuka is in possession of a number of mystic codes--specially-made items, in her case outfits, imbued with magical energy, making the user capable of quickly casting specific spells. her mystic codes and their abilities (described in both story terms and gameplay mechanic terms) are:

mystic code: chaldea - chaldea’s default uniform for masters.

first aid - moderately heals an ally. (single-target heal.) momentary reinforcement - temporarily increases an ally’s strength. (single-target 1-turn attack buff, increases attack by 50%.) emergency evasion - temporarily allows an ally to dodge all attacks. (single-target 1-turn evade.)

chaldea combat uniform - also known as the plugsuit, a bodysuit worn when rayshifting.

reinforce all - temporarily strengthens the entire party. (1-turn party-wide 30% attack buff.) gandr - a weaker version of the offense-oriented gandr used by rin tohsaka and luviagelita edelfelt, it won’t hurt the opponent, but it will bring their movement to a crawl for a short while. (1-turn stun.) order change - instantly swaps two allies��� locations. (switches a servant in your front line with someone in your back line.)

mage’s association uniform - the uniform of the clock tower, a prestigious school for mages and the center of the mage’s association. ironically, ritsuka’s never been there properly.

heal all - moderately heals all allies, though slightly less than first aid can for a single person. (party-wide heal.) spiritron transfer - gives an ally a moderate boost of magical energy. (single-target 20% ult charge.) command shuffle - we will ignore this one because it’s purely game mechanics in a way that i can’t possibly translate to anything useful here!

atlas academy uniform - the uniform of atlas academy, an insular school for alchemists. ritsuka’s never properly been there either.

dust of osiris - temporarily makes an ally impervious to all wounds. (single-target 1-turn invincibility.) rain of isis - restores an ally to their original condition, excluding injuries. (single-target debuff clear.) eye of medjed - increases an ally’s reaction time. (cuts skill cooldown by 2 turns. single-target.)

anniversary blonde - based on the outfit worn by a certain king of knights in one timeline’s fuyuki, 2004.

mana burst - gives an ally a burst of magical energy, temporarily sharply increasing their strength. (single-target 1-turn 60% buster [heavy damage] buff.) conviction of victory - temporarily increases the party’s perception, allowing them to more accurately strike weak points. (1-turn party-wide crit rate buff. amount varies based on the individual.) knight’s oath - allows one ally to instantly revive upon defeat. (single-target 1-time guts [instant revive] status.)

royal brand - based on the outfit worn by a certain king of knights in one timeline’s fuyuki, 1994.

reaction enhancement - temporarily increases an ally’s speed. (1-turn single-target 50% quick [fast, comparatively light damage] buff.) iron will - temporarily increases an ally’s perception, allowing them to more accurately strike weak points. (1-turn single-target crit rate increase. exact amount varies.) unavoidable strike - temporarily ensures that all of an ally’s attacks land. brilliant summer - even summertime fun is full of chaos at chaldea! this cute orange-and-white striped bikini is no less helpful than any of her other mystic codes.

(1-turn party-wide 30% quick [fast, comparatively light damage] buff.) sure-kill trident - temporarily ensures that all of an ally’s attacks will deal damage, no matter what. (1-turn single-target ignore invincible status.) sea house shower - heals an ally and gives them a small magical energy boost. (single target heal + 10% ult charge.)

memoria of lunar mare - the uniform of tsukimihara, a virtual high school on the moon from another timeline.

spiritron elevation - temporarily increases an ally’s ability to generate magical energy. (1-turn single-target 50% arts [attack that also greatly increases ult charge] buff.) groundwork for complete victory - temporarily increases the party’s perception, allowing them to more accurately strike weak points. arctic region chaldea uniform - a special uniform designed for uninhabitably cold weather. along with the spells described below, it possesses an inherent magical resistance to the cold, so long as it isn’t torn.

(single-target heal + defense debuff clear.) phantasmal reinforcement - temporarily increases an ally’s strength, and further increases their noble phantasm or other ultimate attack’s strength. captain chaldea - a spacesuit given to ritsuka when they were dragged into the servant universe by astarte. …don’t think too hard about it.

(single-target 1-turn 50% ult buff + offensive debuff clear.) star blaster - temporarily increases an ally’s strength when striking weak points. true ether uniform - it also has a way longer name, but let’s just stick with true ether! made for ritsuka’s trip to the seventh singularity in ancient uruk, it has the ability to withstand the absurdly high magical energy concentrations present in the age of gods.

attack simultaneously - temporarily provides a sharp increase to the party’s strength. (1-turn party-wide 35% buster [heavy damage] buff.) threefold therapy - greatly heals an ally over a short time. (single-target heal-per-turn, lasts 3 turns.) mana conversion - gives an ally a small amount of magical energy and temporarily increases an ally’s ability to generate magical energy. (single-target 10% ult charge + 1-turn 40% ult charge generation buff.)

chaldea pathfinder - a scout's outfit, perfect for summer camp! this mystic code is built to endure forested and mountainous terrain.

when i was younger, i hated pink. i was not like other girls. this is now something i'm embarrassed of - this was not me being a "girl's girl."

but it was expressing something many of us felt at the time: i literally wasn't what girlhood was supposed to be. this is a hard thing to explain, but you know when you're not performing girlhood correctly. it isn't as easy as "i liked x when girls liked y" - because there were other girls that liked x, too - but i never figured out exactly the correct way to like x, or to be interested in y.

now there is the divine feminine. this is the same rhetoric it has always been: women are biologically driven to like pink and ribbons and submitting to our husbands.

the problem is that the patriarchy found a better PR team. because yes, actually, i want every woman to have the choice to be a homemaker. i also want her taken seriously for her legitimate home-making labor. i want her to be recognized as also having a job, just unpaid. i want men to have this opportunity, too.

but it is no longer "i made this choice and I love it." instead it is a sixteen-paragraph rant about how selfish it is that my generation isn't having kids. instead it's long videos about how if you feed your children processed foods, you're going to kill them. instead it is "this is what womanhood is supposed to be. i feel bad for any other choices you're making."

the shame spiral is just prettier. it is large houses devoid of personality. it is the implication: if you don't have this, you aren't happy. the solid, everlasting assurance: women are actually supposed to be submitting. this is the default. this is the natural state of things. all other attempts inflict suffering.

but you can no longer say i'm not like other girls. you can no longer reject this image completely. you cannot find it revolting, even if you know that the underbelly is toxic and festering. sure, it is the same repackaged patriarchy. but the internet does not have shades of grey. you should support and reward other women! your disgust is actually internalized misogyny. not because you are seeing a vision of yourself the way they're trying to train you to be. not because you feel her ghost pass within an inch of your earlobe. not because your father will eventually ask you - why can't you be like her?

because they figured out how to make it beautiful: women will sell other women on this idea, and we will find the singular loophole in feminism. sure, she's shaming you in most of her videos. sure, she implies that a different life is obscene. but she just wants you to be happy! you'd be happier if you were listening!

One of my biggest nitpicks in fiction concerns the feeding of babies. Mothers dying during/shortly after childbirth or the baby being separated form the mother shortly after birth is pretty common in fiction. It is/was also common enough in real life, which is why I think a lot of writers/readers don't think too hard about this. however. Historically, the only reason the vast majority of babies survived being separated from their mother was because there was at least one other woman around to breastfeed them. Before modern formula, yes, people did use other substitutes, but they were rarely, if ever, nutritionally sufficient.

Newborns can't eat adult food. They can't really survive on animal milk. If your story takes place in a world before/without formula, a baby separated from its mother is going to either be nursed by someone else, or starve.

It doesn't have to be a huge plot point, but idk at least don't explicitly describe the situation as excluding the possibility of a wetnurse. "The father or the great grandmother or the neighbor man or the older sibling took and raised the baby completely alone in a cave for a year." Nope. That baby is dead I'm sorry. "The baby was kidnapped shortly after birth by a wizard and hidden away in a secret tower" um quick question was the wizard lactating? "The mother refused to see or touch her child after birth so the baby was left to the care of the ailing grandfather" the grandfather who made the necessary arrangements with women in the neighborhood, right? right? OR THAT GREAT OFFENDER "A newborn baby was left on the doorstep and they brought it in and took care of it no issues" What Are You Going to Feed That Baby. Hello?

Like. It's not impossible, but arrangements are going to have to be made. There are some logistics.
