What to do if you suddenly find yourself homeless

FOOD

Find your nearest food bank or mission, for food

grocery stores with free samples, bakeries + stores with day-old bread

different fast food outlets have cheaper food and will generally let you hang out for a while.

some dollar stores carry food like cans of beans or fruit

SHELTER

Sleeping at beaches during the day is a good way to avoid suspicion and harassment

sleep with your bag strapped to you, so someone can’t steal it

Some churches offer short term residence

Find your nearest homeless shelter

Look for places that are open to the public

A large dumpster near a wall can often be moved so that flipping up the lids creates an angled shelter to stay dry

HYGIENE

A membership to the YMCA is usually only 10$, which has a shower, and sometimes laundry machines and lockers.

Public libraries have bathrooms you can use

Dollar stores carry low-end soaps and deodorant etc.

Wet wipes are all purpose and a life saver

Local beaches, go for a quick swim

Some truck stops have showers you can pay for

Staying clean is the best way to prevent disease, and potentially get a job to get back on your feet

Pack 7 pairs of socks/undies, 2 outfits, and one hooded rain jacket

OTHER

Meet Blizzard!

Feyra was raised to be a high ranking warrior in the Drow military. Too bad she was always a problem child, and had difficulty in relating to her peers. So, she climbed the ranks through ruthlessness and brutality as an elite warrior, until people simply pretended to tolerate her presence.

As she grew more comfortable in her cushy position, things started to feel off. She would hear people whispering about her, feel the presence of people near her doorstep at the dead of night. And as she would begin to see cloaked figures following her steps, something inside her snapped. She didn’t feel safe anymore.

One day, age 121, at a group banquet, Feyra had a hunch that there was something off about her drink, so she swapped it with somebody else’s when a big speech was happening.

By tomorrow, the person she switched her drink with was dead. Panicking, Feyra slipped away into the wilderness of the Underdark.

Beyond

Feyra’s life became a long series of battles with monstrosities and near death experiences. With a combination of military experience and spite, Vera became another fixture of the ecosystem as she wandered across the Underdark. She slowly began to see all monsters as enemies and prey, and began to relish in hunting and consuming them.

Thirty years later, Feyra had stumbled her way into the Surface World. Much to her dismay, she was met by a snowstorm of horrifying proportions. On the verge of death, she promised that if she were to survive, she would help cleanse the world of monstrosities, and return to Drow Society with all she had learnt to bring forth a new age of military might and conquest.

And when she was closest to death, her Druidic abilities began to kick in, as she suddenly cast Cure Wounds on herself, allowing her to survive the rest of the frigid inferno.

As the dust settled, she renamed herself Blizzard, as she would be the storm that her enemies wouldn’t see coming.

[Several months later, Blizzard joins the campaign.]

Whew! It’s been a long break alright!

I’ve got some art I’ll post after New Year’s Eve! And a list of resolutions I’m gonna keep on this blog to hold myself accountable!

Begin creating(and posting) Fae Frontier!

Work on exercising with a small, regimented list of weekly exercises!

Give myself grace, and strive towards a calmer attitude towards things.

Vera died :(

I have a new character now! Still has that dark elf angst, just in a different flavor!

My responsibilities are killing me this week so I’ll hopefully be able to draw her over the weekend. And maybe make a comic or two with her.

Last Of Their Kind X Medical Anomaly

The Last of Their Kind has spent their life as a fugitive, either hunted or stared at for their uncommon, impossible to ignore features. They are jaded and paranoid, always keeping others at an arms length. Everyone they loved died long ago, anyways.

Until the met the Medical Anomaly.

The Medical Anomaly has lived a life without choice, a life as a tool, poked and prodded for something much bigger than them. Others look in contempt and shake their heads, something like that should be out and about in the world, it shouldn’t even have been born. They’re cynical and bitter. If everybody hates them, then what’s wrong with simply returning the favor. Until they meet the Last Of Their Kind.

Maybe they started off as enemies, maybe they hit it off when they meant. Maybe they’re friends… or something more. Only thing that matters now is that they don’t have to be alone anymore, they have a few common enemies, and they make a great team.

Young elf x borderline feral human that he doesnt realize is human yet. As he watches her rip a monsters throat out with her teeth after it pins her his only thoughts are strong, terrifying, beutiful, words he never hear associated with humans. (doomed romance as he slowly realizes she is aging much more than he is)
