Following on from previous Leon Eras, how do you think all the different Leon Eras would react to a best friend or S/O that's been there when he's seen Ada and knows how he feels about her, so they're always feeling a little bit inadequate? Like there's always that little voice in the back of their mind telling them that they're not good enough for Leon and that they'll never be as good as her? So I don't think he would bring her up in a negative way so when you do get touchy about her- he's confused

I think he would dismiss your concerns because he's literally not said a good thing

It's not until you explain it to him that he understands it sounds like he's still hung up on her

So he would make an effort to show you that's not the case, whenever that's literally saying it during sex

I'm talking like major praise towards you..he would never say her name during that time but imply that you are better

It does work sort of because he is worshipping you but is also doing it on the base of hating her

I think it's a pretty safe bet to say that Ian did not pass Shaun's vibe check.

The first comic certainly makes it clear that Shaun didn't find Ian attractive considering the way he reacted. Maybe it's due to jealousy (I don't think Shaun wants to think about his crush having sex with someone else) or maybe it's because of Ian's bad taste in anime. Who can say?

I suspect that these two just didn't get along. Between Shaun suffering from jealousy due to his crush and the two of them having different tastes, they were probably only friendly to one another for MC's sake.

I would imagine that Shaun's opinion on Ian took an extreme nosedive when they found out Ian cheated on MC.

Man... can you imagine how much pain Shaun has been through? He had to watch his best friend/crush be happy with someone else... then get devastated by being cheated on. The worst part was if he had bad vibes from Ian from the start, but he ignored his gut feelings for MC's sake.

When it comes to my personal headcanons that I use for Sunshine in Hell... Shaun and Ian had friction since the first day Alice introduced the two of them.

It wasn't just Shaun being jealous of Ian either. Ian was jealous of Shaun too!

Ian has always suffered from a low sense of self-esteem. Shaun, by comparison, is much more well put together, more outgoing, and has this natural charisma that draws people to him. Shaun is just so likable that he gets a lot of attention and friends. For years, Ian was the exact opposite of that, which led to him being bullied and degraded often.

So one day Alice, his childhood friend and partner, is super excited to introduce Ian to her new friend. Shaun and Alice have a lot in common, and it was very visible in the early years of college when Alice was in the middle of her pastel goth phase. Shaun and Alice had a love for horror movies, cats, the goth aesthetic, and a whole bunch of other things. They clicked so quickly, and it scared Ian a little.

It didn't help that Alice had trouble making friends like Ian did. They had that in common, something that gave them a sort of understanding that no one else could intrude on. Now that they were in college they started making more friends, and that was a good thing, really! But Alice clicked with Shaun about as fast as she did with Ian.

In the 1st grade, one day Alice mustered up the courage to talk to Ian in order to cheer him up. After that they started talking every day and they were besties ever since. From there, they started dating. She's never really clicked with anyone else so fast like she did with Ian...

Until Shaun, that is.

Ian kept comparing himself to Shaun, unfavorably. He kept worrying about Alice falling for Shaun instead since, well, clearly Shaun had so much more than Ian had to offer. Why wouldn't she? What didn't help his insecurities was the fact that they had been a couple since high school, but they still hadn't had sex yet.

I integrated the comic into part of Alice and Ian's troubled sex life. The depicted instance was Ian's attempt at making things romantic so that they could finally go all the way.

It took them a while to start being sexually intimate due to their mutual lack of practical knowledge and Alice's SA trauma. She was very cuddly with Ian, not afraid to kiss him or go into a make out session, but she struggled to go further than that for a long time. It left Ian struggling with insecurities, fearing that he wasn't attractive to her despite her constantly reassuring him that wasn't the case.

Really, it was that insecurity and self-blame that pushed Alice to go further than she was ready for, to pretty painful results that she learned to just accept as part of the experience.

Alice is the type of person who can't be comfortable with people touching her unless she trusts them. However, when she gets close to someone, she can get pretty cuddly, even with her friends, giving them hugs often. So, for Ian, seeing his girlfriend get comfortable hugging another guy... someone he might have noticed looking at her a certain way...

Well, getting cockblocked on his rocky road to losing his virginity didn't help Ian see Shaun in a more favorable light.

Really, this was an incident that pushed Ian to be a bit more possessive of Alice. He was already struggling with the fact that his partner was sharing a dorm with someone else, but for Shaun to just casually walk into her bedroom like that without knocking? Ian certainly had permission to come in there without Alice knowing since he's her boyfriend, and he was planning to surprise her with a romantic evening, but how long had Shaun been just letting himself into her private space so casually?

Ian didn't believe that Alice was cheating on him, but what if Shaun decided to take advantage of her? What if this casual blurring of their living space led to feelings blooming?

What if Alice realized that Shaun was so much better than Ian in every way?

This led to Ian asking Alice to move into an apartment with him, even if it cost them money. He was able to feel more secure when they were living together, and he could be the one going into her bedroom at any hour of the day to be with her instead of someone else.

Shaun did try to befriend Ian, but it seemed like every time they hung out, something would rub him the wrong way. He did his best to be happy for Alice and Ian in their relationship, but it wasn't just Ian's shit taste in anime that struck Shaun as a red flag.

It didn't take Shaun long to notice a pattern in Ian and Alice's relationship. Ian would be down on himself, even cry and apologize for being inadequate, and Alice would reassure him. It seemed like every day, he saw this happen at least once. He tried reassuring Ian as well when he could, but after a while it gets tiring to try and lift someone up who keeps dragging himself down. Shaun would suggest Ian try therapy, and Ian would insist it wouldn't work, he was hopeless, and it wasn't worth wasting money on.

It was only when Alice showered Ian with love, and when their mutual friends bent backwards to cheer him up, that Ian would perk up again.

Shaun saw the red flags going up, how Ian was so needy for Alice and it was wearing on her. She went out of her way for Ian all the time, doing so much more because Ian "needed" her.

What made it worse was that Shaun saw how unbalanced their relationship was, how Alice gave Ian so much more than Ian gave back. Because Ian was so clingy, Alice had to often cancel meet ups with friends at the last minute, citing that he was having a bad day and needed her. Yet, on days when Alice was feeling like shit, she just kept powering through, pretending nothing was wrong. It took Shaun a lot of effort to pry her into leaning on him, and he'd even go out of his way to do stuff for her without her asking, like buying her lunch when she was so overworked she forgot to bring any.

Shaun worried for Alice because she was his friend, and she didn't deserve this sort of treatment. It was like she had become Ian's emotional crutch. Regardless of his attraction towards her, regardless if they could ever get together, he wanted her to be happy.

Shaun's opinion of Ian slowly deteriorated over time, but it turned into downright hate when Ian cheated on Alice, especially after she almost died because of it.

It was just a normal night when Shaun got a phone call from Ian. It was about Alice of course. It was the only reason Ian ever called Shaun - to check up on Alice. That night was different because Ian was in a panic. Alice wasn't picking up for him, which was unusual enough, but Ian was insistent that Shaun needed to check on her to make sure she was okay.

It was lucky that Shaun had the spare key to the apartment Alice and Ian shared. The sight of her lying unconscious in a pool of blood in the bathroom is a scar that'll forever be etched in his memory.

Shaun spent an entire night terrified, wondering what had happened. Did Alice try to kill herself? Why? She might have been missing Ian after he moved across the country, but she always reached out to Shaun and others when she wanted company. What happened that night? When he mentioned Alice's state to Ian, he just wailed that it was all his fault and Shaun couldn't reach Ian after that, as Ian was busy trying to book a flight back home to see her at the hospital.

Shaun had to be the one to call Alice's family too, but he had no answers to give them. The doctors would only let family or her legal partner see her for a while. It was only the next day that he learned that it was all because Ian had cheated on Alice, and she drank to dull the pain, only to hurt herself under the influence of alcohol poisoning.

Shaun could've kicked himself. He saw the problems in their relationship, but he didn't think it was his place to say anything. He worried his jealousy was coloring his perspective, seeing things too negatively. Now he wished he pushed harder like his gut told him, got Alice to see that the relationship was no good for her.

When Alice forgave Ian and tried to make it work, Shaun couldn't just sit back and let it happen.

So, yeah, Shaun's opinion of Ian in the present day is very negative. He views Ian as a toxic, manipulative, cheating scumbag who didn't deserve Alice. It was a relief when he managed to help Alice see that too so that she could finally end that toxic relationship. He was there for her so many nights when she cried over Ian and missed him. He saw the pain Ian put Alice through, and it just made his hatred of Ian grow.

Ian is grateful for Shaun being there to help Alice and even getting her to the hospital, but that doesn't get rid of his jealousy. Shaun and Alice are still talking even though she never picks up the phone for Ian anymore. He sees their exchanges online. They're still close. Shaun could one day sweep in and...

Ooh this would be a better question for @alittleflashvibe (who can absolutely feel free to hop in with reblogs or comments or whatever, really 👀) but I will take a crack at it myself:

So first of all, let me preface by saying, none of this is going to be me going “see?? No platonic explanation!!” because that’s a) canonically false and b) nonsense. Barrisco, for all that I do ship them, is canonically a friendship, and I value that highly. You can absolutely choose to interpret this all as solely platonic, and that’s totally fine! Their relationship is strong either way, and it’s not “better” or “worse” from either perspective. So just keep that in mind.

Second of all, I’ll assume you’re someone who’s open to shipping Barry with guys (otherwise this discussion is sorta pointless 😅).

Third of all, this will include comparisons to Westallen because...duh, they're canonically romantic, and I need a point of comparison. I love both ships, mind you, this is simply for academic purposes.

Oh and uh...remember when I said we'd get back to talking about Cisco doing something risky to save his life? Let's talk about that for a second.

Let's talk about how Iris and Cisco react to losing/the prospect of losing Barry post-s3/s4 and s6:

Post-s3:

Iris: Quits her job, becomes Team Leader in Barry's absence so she can use her skills to help out, wanting to honor Barry's words ("keep growing, keep loving, keep running, for me") and knowing Cisco can't lead the Team alone because he's strung out. Argues with Cisco about getting Barry back, because she is understandably worried that it'll make things worse, cost them someone else...and/or Barry will either already be dead, or will die as a result of their actions (i.e. she fears losing Barry all over again)

Cisco: Hyperfocuses on saving Barry ("quits his job", so to speak, because he's not being Team Leader as Barry intended), uses his skills to help out by building a Quark sphere to save Barry, goes forward with his plan despite Iris's misgivings so he can honor Barry's words ("he also said that everyone would look to me after he was gone. So look to me."). In the aftermath, modifies the suit extensively because he fears losing Barry all over again)

s6:

Iris: Is distraught and horrified at how easily Barry accepts his death, tries to talk him out of it. She takes up the charge of recruiting Ryan Choi, Paragon of Humanity, empathizes with him about his fear, draws on their similarities to convince him.

(She does not pull risky manuevers here, since it's E90 Barry who saves our Barry, but she did back in s3, when she shot Savitar, a speedster and her almost-killer (and also a future version of Barry), to save Barry's life)

Cisco: Makes a risky call to try and save Barry's life, defends himself fiercely when Barry gets upset about it, is distraught and horrified at how easily Barry accepts his death

Bonus:

it's relief in Barry's eyes there, and worry. Barry was mad at Cisco earlier in the episode, but...in this moment, none of that matters. Cisco's doing something risky to save his life (as he canonically does often) and Barry's relieved but also terrified it might go sour. And...well, you saw from one of the gifs earlier how enthusiastic he was once this rescue succeeded - he beamed up at him, all "you've always been my hero" (canon quote) and took his hand to be helped up, just like in a fairytale.

Modern au trans Ace has been consuming my mind lately so I thought I'll just share all of my headcanons or else I'll explode:

• Sabo was the first person he had come out to. It happened when they were around 9. Ace had always felt that something was "wrong" about him. That the way he acted, his interests and past times, and just how he would do things were "unnatural" or wierd". Once Ace became familiar with the conspet of transgenderism he just opened up to him, and was met with instant support.

• Immediately after this, Sabo gave Ace his (trademark) transgender haircut in the bathroom of Dadan's house. She actually entered it while they were there and upon seeing it she cried out of happyness. (Mothers know everything)

• Coming out to Garp was a bit harder for Ace since he wasn't sure how an older person would have reacted, I mean Garp just left there his grand"daughter" and came back to a grandson after all. But we all know that Garp would never discriminate, and plus now he has another grandson to train.

• Luffy arrived in his life after a full year after he had transitioned, so at first Ace wasn't sure how to exacly explain this to Luffy, but he did manage to open up to him after they officially became brothers. Luffy wasn't just an innocent kid, while he didn't fully understood concepts like transphobia, to him Ace is just his brother so if anyone is mean to him or calls him names he'll just kick their asses.

• Ace had been homeschooled for the 5 years that would have been him attending elementary school. Middle school was the first time he attended an actual school and at first he wasn't open or confident at all and was ready to just beat up anyone who tried to shit talk him.

• Surprisingly he made a few friends. They were mostly just Luffy's friends who were older than him or his friends's siblings, but he appreciated it anyway. His absolute best friend ever tho is Kuina. I hd her as non binary using she/they so its just trans supporting trans, and they also have like a million of other reasons to be friends but those were already pointed out.

• His top surgery was payed by none other than his father Newgate. The Whitebeards pirates would be just this one tatoo shop Ace works at that Newgate he opened after "retiring" from biker gangs and stuff.

• Obbligatory T4T Yamace, but we all already knew this, didn't we?

• Ace gets the best older trans guy advice from Franky. Because to me, he is just what every trans guy aspires to be, cool and hardboiled. And who wouldn't want to get advice from the dude who did his own top surgery in his father's mechanic shop at 15?

These are all from me, but feel free to add your own or elaborate on the ones you like.

Trans Ace is so real to me that I quite literally can't imagine him being cis. It's just so,,, Weird to me. And I absolutely love everything you said. I definitely think Sabo was the first one to know and the one who helped Ace the most with his transition, also telling Garp, who actually is way better (if you can say 'better' when something isn't even 'good' but yeah) at raising boys. At least he understands them better. So I think he wouldn't have a problem with it at all even if he's more on the "I don't really get it that much, kid, but as long as you're happy" type of vibe. I agree with everything,, When he was younger he really didn't interact with many people and usually preferred to be alone. Teachers considered him more of a problematic kid than anything, and always compared him to Sabo with the typical "how are you like this when your brother is just so polite and smart!?" but then Sabo always ends up fighting the teachers for saying that shit in front of the class and Sabo stops being so perfect in their eyes (also he starts rebelling himself a lot against the educational system lmao). And not to talk shit about Garp, but talking shit about Garp I'm sure Ace would get in trouble a lot and Garp wouldn't show up to the meetings with Ace's teachers. That only makes Ace feel lonelier and everyone thinks he's extremely troubled. When he's literally a sweetheart to both Sabo and Luffy,, When he meets Luffy's friends, he starts to open up to people. He still gets in a lot of trouble, honestly, but that's just him. I think his classmates find out about him being trans, of course, and not a lot of people are okay with that. He truly wants to fight them but he knows that if he keeps going like this he'll get expelled and he doesn't like the idea of leaving Sabo and Luffy alone ('doesn't like the idea' meaning he almost gets expelled and Sabo had to scold him and tell him that even though he has his own friends he doesn't know what he would do without him in school), so Luffy and Sabo are usually the one defending him a lot of the time since the teachers, even though they're chaotic, don't really hate them (because look at those cutie patooties how could you hate Luffy???? He gets along even with teachers). The Whitebeard pirates accept him with open arms and he finally feels he has a place to belong to. Newgate doesn't even offer to pay for the surgery, he just pays without telling him first because he knows Ace wouldn't have let him do it otherwise. He's so so grateful for them. And his brothers. And his friends. And everybody that has ever supported him. I think that he has lots of issues with depression and self-image and he often has a hard time when he acts impulsively, but Newgate always helps him. He grounds him. Gives him something to focus on. And Franky is soooo fun to be around. Newgate tells him to go see Franky and give him the money he owes him, and that's how they meet, basically. It's obvious he's trans because he goes shirtless all the time and scars are there and everything... And Ace just has to ask about his experience. Franky helps him gladly. And it's not only cathartic but also very comforting. He also meets Robin there!!!! Because married Frobin in this one. And I think Ace would absolutely love her because she keeps being oh so nice to him. She kind of reminds him of Makino, and it's extremely sweet. I think Ace now goes to help Franky from time to time when the Tattoo shop doesn't really need him there or, well, whenever he wants to because he also is extremely interested in bikes.

T4T Yamace my beloved.... Guys being guys. Dudes being dudes. I think they meet because Newgate tells Ace something about this man Kaido (leader of a gang) who owes him lots of money or something or did something very nasty to him yadda yadda Maybe they just have beef from when Newgate was into the gang stuff. And Ace keeps saying he should go and settle things with Kaido and beat him up for that, but Newgate is retired and he really, really doesn't give a single fuck about it. Lmao. Ace says he could take down Kaido himself. Newgate laughs. Ace is too proud. So he ends up looking for Kaido and fighting Yamato late at night in the street and,, Well. You know how it goes. They become daddy issues besties and turns out Yamato does not want to follow his dad's steps. Ace is curious about Yamato's experience because he doesn't seem to want to have surgery or anything, and they keep bonding over their pasts and family and Yamato ends up joining the friend group. And it's so cute. Newgate can see the kid is in love because every day he waits for Yamato to come pick him up to hang out. Or maybe he begs to get out earlier to go see Yamato. He keeps talking about Yamato,,, All the time. Even Sabo and Luffy are done with him. It's endearing.

Deltarune's themes of escapism and why they hit me hard

I was going to do some Deltarune art based around this and then just have the definition of escapism under it, but I can't think of what to draw, so I'm just going to ramble about it instead.

Deltarune, as I'm sure many many other people have pointed out before, has strong themes of escapism in addition to its themes of control, freedom, the narrative, etc. The Dark Worlds transform objects into people, rooms into environments, high school students into heroes. They seem to bring to life the sorts of games you played as a kid, with your toys and your friends, making up a story that played out in your mind, enhanced by your imagination. It's theatre of the mind, helped along by the toys and props and whatnot - like when you're playing D&D, too. This sort of thing is mainly in Chapter One, with the game pieces and cards and toys. I remember playing make-believe with practically everything as a kid - I made up stories with chess pieces a few times, that was fun. Castle Town and Card Kingdom are both reminiscent of a very traditional form of escapism: fantasy.

The Cyber World is a little different, but it still holds the same sort of idea - hell, we're all here on Tumblr, we know what it's like to bury ourselves in the internet, in videos and memes and posts, and forget the world for a little while. This is emphasised by Queen's commentary - I can't find the exact quote, but it's something about being worried that the Lightners will become depressed without the 'bliss' of the internet, which isn't currently working in Hometown. We also know that Chapter 3 will take place in Toriel's lounge room and seems to be specifically based around the TV (and, this is off topic, but I literally just realised Mike could be, like, mic, as in microphone, and Tenna could be short for antenna), which can also be a form of escapism for people. I know that my mum, for one, watches TV most nights.

There's also the specific characters who fall into the Dark Worlds - Kris, Susie, Noelle, Berdly.

Kris seems to be considered weird by most of Hometown, where they are the only human and don't seem to have many - or, well, any - real friends apart from their brother, who was the town's golden boy, who everyone keeps talking about and seems to hold in high regard, whose side of the bedroom holds trophies and pictures and colour while Kris' is bare and grey (they also have Susie now, but she only became their friend during the first Dark World). In the Dark World, however, Kris gets to be a hero, sword and shield raised, saving the world with their friends. Everyone in Castle Town loves them. The room Ralsei built for them has trophies aplenty. And then there's the matter of Ralsei, who looks so much like Toriel and Asgore and Asriel, who is so nice and so supportive of Kris, who has pink horns like maybe a certain red headband faded (yes I headcanon that Ralsei is Kris' old horn headband and will continue to do so until proven wrong).

Susie, who drinks milk from back alleys and threatens to eat people's faces, who didn't actually call home when she had a sleepover with Kris, who gets uncomfortable around the block of flats in Hometown, who doesn't seem to know how to react when shown kindness or friendship, who considers herself the 'bad guy'. Well, she gets to be that bad guy, strong and powerful and scary, with a big axe and sharp teeth and enemies to defeat. And then she gets to have friends, she gets to have food, she gets to be the hero and maybe that's not so bad after all if she does it alongside people she cares about, people who care about her. We can see how much happier she is in the Dark Worlds.

Berdly, who tries so hard to be perceived as smart, who loves videogames. I don't have as much to say about him, honestly, but his Dark World design is quite distinctively Cyber World when compared to the other Lightner's more fantasy-inspired designs, and being in the Dark World gives him the chance to be a hero, even if he's not great at that for most of Chapter 2.

And Noelle. Noelle, whose sister seems to be missing or dead, whose dad is in hospital, whose mum is the town's mayor and works a lot and has an icy personality. Noelle who searches for bugs and secrets in the games she seems to love. Noelle who wishes she had magic to heal her dad. Noelle who seems to feel powerless to help someone she loves, who doesn't stand up to Berdly or her mum. Once she's in the Dark World, she can heal people. She stands up to Queen, who is a sort of mother figure. She gets to spend time with Susie. She gets to see the city lights that Dess promised her.

All this to say that Deltarune in general and the Dark Worlds specifically have some not-so-subtle themes of escapism.

Now, the 'why it hits me hard' bit. Escapism has always been one of my main coping strategies, and even beyond that, I love fantasy, I love stories, I love burying myself in another world. It's much easier to be in a world where there's magic and quests and maybe there's struggles and strife and people still get hurt and mess up and go through bad things, but eventually there's a happy ending because that's how stories work, they don't have the constant uncertainty of real life. And, you know, if I could go to a Dark World, I would. I can understand why Susie likes the Dark Worlds so much, why Noelle and Berdly wanted to make another. Escapism is something that I can understand, especially after having struggled with my mental health for a few years (I'm a lot better now though). The world can be messy and complicated and hard, and wouldn't it be nice to be in a different world for a bit, one where you can be who you want to be and you don't feel lost anymore?

So, uh... yeah lol.

in cursed twin AU, how does Satoru react towards Yuta, since he has a cursed spirit of his own? albeit Shiki is a bit of a different situation and is well-behaved compared to Rika, and has more clarity than Rika

it could also be argued that - putting aside that no one except Suguru has lived to tell the secret - Satoru is comparatively more fucked up than Yuta in this regard because he’s willingly housing Shiki for an unforeseen future inside his body, and that’s considered messed up in the head, kind of? because imagine you have the option of putting Shiki to rest somehow, letting her die in peace, but no — for one, Shiki is well behaved and there’s no problems so far in their situation, so there’s no reason for Satoru to just up and do that. shiki isn’t suffering, isn’t too insane, and by possessing him she can eat and see and experience things for her own (even though shes a bloodthirsty little thing)

so gg Satoru be the first one to delete people who denies his sister this second chance (and he already did lmao)

for two, why should Shiki be the one to die? when it was the fault of fucking Gojo Clan and their father that she ended up like this? it’s not fair, his sister died because of some fucktards deciding she wasn’t worth anything and she has to be the one to pay the price, to give up in this lifetime, to die in order her to be in peace? Shiki deserves to live and have a chance to look at and experience this world, and Satoru is making sure of it even if it has to be through using him

In a way, Gojo Satoru really does love Shiki, and I want to see how a Satoru who has someone he loves to the point of, well, housing them inside his body for almost all his life like in Cursed Twins AU, reacts to seeing Yuta and Rika.

Footsteps sound clearly upon the cold stone ground, growing closer and closer, but Yuta can't find the strength to raise his head. Instead, he curls inwards, shrinking into himself where he's sitting on the uncomfortable wooden chair in his prison.

And, there's no doubt that this is a prison; ofuda seals cover the entirety of the enclosed chamber, and the only source of light is from the flicker of yellow lanterns scattered across the ground, arranged in a strange pattern. Yuta does not recognize any of it, as strange and scary as everything is, but instinct tells him that this is a trap, a cage.

... Good. He deserves it. He deserves to be locked up like this forever, because he-

"All of this is a bit overkill for just a kid, isn't it?"

"This was the best I could argue for, while you were still out of the country. It was either this, or immediate execution." Oh. Oh, Yuta recognizes this voice. "Hello, Okkotsu-kun. Have you been well?"

It's only polite to look at the person who's speaking to you. Yuta doggedly manages to summon up the strength to raise his head.

"... Hello, Geto-san," he whispers. The man who'd subdued Rika-chan and brought him in without any further bloodshed offers him a reassuring smile, then gestures towards his companion.

"Okkotsu-kun, this is my friend, Gojo Satoru. He's the one I mentioned before, who I think might be able to offer a unique insight into your situation. Satoru, this is-"

The white-haired man makes a clearly disgusted sound. Yuta automatically flinches, because there's no doubt that it's directed towards him.

"A master-servant bond, really?" he says, obviously disapproving. Yuta has no idea what the man is talking about.

"Okkotsu-kun is not a sorcerer," Geto-san says sharply. "He's lived a civilian life all this time, Satoru. Remember what I told you? He and Orimoto-chan are childhood sweethearts who accidentally cursed each other; neither had any idea of what they were doing-"

"No, the boy's the one who did all the cursing here, Suguru." There's a strange flicker in the white-haired man's striking blue eyes, crystalline blue shifting to abyssal darkness and back again. But it must be a trick of the light. Human eyes don't work that way. "But for something that was unintentional... hmm..."

Geto-san sighs tiredly. "Your recommendation, then?"

"... You're asking for my opinion? I think... ultimately, it depends on what the two of them want out of their relationship," Gojo-san shrugs. "Although that might be a little difficult to hammer out on the girl's side, given her current state."

Geto-san frowns lightly, a hand coming up to rest on his chin in thought. "Is there a way to make her lucid again?"

"Well, it's not like there's a documented process for this or anything, but with the circumstances being what they are, I think we might have a few ideas," Gojo-san gives him a sharp grin. Then, he turns towards Yuta. "Hey, so. If it turns out that there's no helping your Rika-chan anyways and we can't actually improve her state any, then what are you going to do?"

"What am I...?" Yuta blinks, confused. It's precisely because he doesn't know what to do, because he doesn't want Rika-chan to hurt anyone anymore, that he's sitting here in this prison cell unresistingly. That he's accepted the fact that he's going to be executed, because otherwise... otherwise...

The white-haired man shoots him a distinctly unimpressed look. "It's not that complicated a question, kid."

"I..." Yuta swallows roughly. "I don't... I don't want Rika-chan to hurt anyone."

"Cute, but that's not what I asked," Gojo-san says. "Are you just going to try and kill yourself again?"

"Satoru, that's not-!"

"Let him answer the question, Suguru."

The scary man's eyes flick downwards briefly towards where a deformed hand-knife is hidden behind Yuta's chair. A knife that Rika-chan had destroyed when Yuta had attempted to... wait, how does he even know that?

But the question he'd asked... Yuta doesn't...

...

Yuta doesn't want to hurt anyone. And, he doesn't want Rika-chan to hurt anyone, either. The guilt of living like this, causing nothing but death and destruction wherever he goes, accomplishing nothing but bringing pain to other people's lives... that's not okay, and it makes bile rise in the back of his throat just thinking about it.

"You're the one who cursed her, even if it was accidental," Gojo-san tells him mercilessly. "So what is it that you want to do?"

Let's get married when we're older, Yuta.

We'll be together forever and ever!

That's a promise.

...

"I... I want to help Rika-chan."

"And if you can't?"

Yuta's hands clench into fists. "You said... you said that you might have a way. And, if it's my fault that Rika-chan is like this, then I... I have to do something about it."

"Because it's your responsibility?"

"Because I care about Rika-chan!"

The heavy imposing pressure in the air suddenly lifts; Yuta falls forward, gasping. He hadn't even noticed it creeping up on him-

Geto-san clicks his tongue. "You went a little overboard here, Satoru."

"Yeah, we'll take him on," the white-haired man ignores the comment and grins. "Help me draw up the papers? I know that Maki and the others will be just thrilled to have a new student joining them."

"... Draw them up yourself, I'm not your secretary."

"Aww, don't be like that, Suguru-"

I'd Die (Again) for Y'all (Part 11)

Whatever the GIW was looking for it, Bats had it in spades. Cyborg himself didn't. Which, he wasn't going to lie, was a relief. He had enough trouble without government agencies looking to cut him open to see how he ticked.

"You holding onto the guns?" he asked, taking another look-see at the scanner.

"Hn."

"Right. I'll get to work on this, you watch your back."

It was a simple process of gathering and sorting data. He couldn't the thing up to the Watchtower's systems until he understood it better, so Cyborg went about it the old fashioned way == he used the scanner on every League member and staff personnel on the station.

It took a while, but once he started comparing his positive results, something jumped out fairly quickly. Everyone the scanner alerted on had died and come back to life at least once.

There were a few false negatives -- folks who had died and didn't set off the scanner. Wonder Woman was one of them. Like her, the others all had some connection with some variety of gods. Which raised a ton of questions, but for now Cyborg had what he needed: proof the GIW was targeting folks who had died and a clue as to how they were doing it. The scanner was clearly picking up on /something/ after all. And those laws Oracle turned up talked a lot about ectoplasm, so assume ghosts and ectoplasm actually exist…

Wonder Woman was a princess of Themyscira and any princess was, by definition, a diplomat. She reminded herself of that, very firmly, as Agent D tried, again, to get her to return their guns.

"I'm sorry," she said firmly, "But only authorized personnel are allowed weapons here. You are lucky I was able to clear you to come up at all. Now, you were going to tell me how we can defend against infiltration by these…"

"Ecto-entities," the other agent jumped in. "You have at least one here already--"

"And we are keeping him under observation until this can be resolved," Wonder Woman said smoothly. She didn't need to explain that everything on the Watchtower was under constant observation. Let them think that she actually believed their ridiculous claim.

Really, she was starting to wonder if these 'ecto-entities' weren't all a figment of the agents imagination.

Poor Phantom. If they'd been hunting him as long as she suspected it was no wonder he reacted badly to the Justice League. They were, as she had said more than once, too closely tied to the US government.

Hopefully when this was 'resolved' they'd have a chance to apologize and help him feel safe again.

"Now, you have said that these entities can fly and do not need to breath. Would they be able to enter space?"

Little Muppet Sesame Things #79

Since Season 3, Snuffy has been thought to be just Big Bird's imaginary friend. Big Bird would protest and be upset when the adults would dismiss Big Bird's statements.

But then, thirteen seasons later, while hanging out on the roof of 123, Big Bird once more mentions Snuffy, saying he can't come over to see the sun rise. Once again, the adults dismiss the idea of Snuffy is real, with Olivia and Bob being the most vocal about Snuffy being imaginary and Big Bird pretending he's real.

Then, something happens. Instead of being his usual "Oh, but he's real, I tell you! Snuffy's real!", Big Bird... is upset, but a different upset.

Big Bird: Boy, you can't possibly imagine how tired I am of hearing that.

Big Bird is not only upset, he's angry. A calm anger as he finally calls out the eight adults: Gordon, Susan, Olivia, Bob, Linda, David, Maria, and Luis.

Big Bird: For once and for all, don't you think, after all these six years of my life, I've learned the difference between what's real and what's imaginary? I know what's real! Why, what's real you can touch and see and hear and feel, outside of your head. But what's imaginary lives only inside your head. I mean, you can't really talk to an imaginary friend on the telephone, but you can talk to a real friend on the telephone! And that's what I! Just! Did! I say Mr. Snuffleupagus is real, and you should believe me!

This is amazing. It's been building up for thirteen seasons and in the very first episode of Season 16, the season right after Big Bird already got upset over Mr. Hooper dying, Big Bird finally shames his adult friends, calling them out for not believing him. He know the difference between what's real and what's imaginary. Hell, he had a similar conversation about that with Mister Rogers in Season 12, four seasons ago. He doesn't scream, this is pure tranquil fury at its finest. I also love the solo shots of Gordon, Susan, and Maria reacting to Big Bird's speech. Susan and Maria look ashamed, but Gordon... looks thoughtful. Like he's really listening to Big Bird's words and thinking hard.

And Gordon is the first to respond.

"I believe you, Big Bird."

Five words Big Bird has been waiting to hear for a long time. Gordon says he believes that Big Bird knows the difference between imaginary and reality, so if Big Bird says Snuffy's real, then he's real and he believes him. So that's one.

Then, another voice chimes in.

"I believe you, too, Big Bird."

Maria walks over, and then, there were two. And then a third joins.

After signing what's going on and Bob signing to her that Gordon and Maria believe Snuffy's real, Linda signs that she believes Big Bird, too. Bob is the only one that speaks afterwards, saying he still doesn't believe. Big Bird does compare his statement of Snuffy being real even though no one's seen him to Bob talking about an Aunt Hazel that lives in Ottawa, but Big Bird's never seen her.

The others don't say anything, nor does Bob change his mind.

Big Bird is just happy that at least three of his adult friends believe him about Snuffy.

One season later... More would end up changing their minds.

heyo! I’m not sure if you answered this or not, but do you believe that there’s a difference between amane and hanako? Like I think yashiro sees the difference; even when yashiro learned about his past, and even in the PP arc, she still called him hanako.

also how would you compare the two if they went on a date with yashiro? amanene date? hananene date? >w>

I'm genuinely in doubt between existing or hiding. Is there Hanako and Amane, or does Hanako hide Amane?

Amane is the past, the shy, quiet, polite, chivalrous, respectful, fragile and not very fun boy. On the other hand, we have Hanako, the present, fun, shameless, perverted, tends to respect no one, not at all polite, not quiet or shy.

Two opposite poles. What it implies is that Hanako is a form of liberation. Amane feels tied down, he feels obligated to be that way, perhaps to meet some expectations. Hanako is dead, he doesn't care about anything or what people think about him. So, Hanako and Amane are the same person, the difference is that he hides the past. But, he lets it slip sometimes.

Some atypical situations for Hanako, the kind that surprise us, a sudden shyness in such usual moments. Hanako, being so seductive and sassy, finds himself colored in an intense blush when Nene kisses him on the cheek without warning.

The frustrated attempt to hide the face, the uncontrollable desire to hide that side. Doubts filled our heads with questions, why did he react that way? The answer is simple, because it was Amane.

Little Amane reacted similarly when he got the forehead kiss.

At the same time, we also have Hanako appearing in Amane. Tsukasa's death is the most glaring proof we have of this.

That's why we can't separate them, they are intertwined. Hanako is Amane, and Amane is Hanako. Hanako gained some new characteristics, but he's still Amane.

I usually call him Amane when referring to the past, while Hanako I use in the present, so everyone can understand better when I'm talking about them.

Anyway, we have to talk about Tsukasa and Nene. After the last chapter, one thing came to mind, Tsukasa asked if Amane wanted to do perverted things, and Amane drowned in his own shame.

He implied that Tsukasa doesn't know Hanako, only Amane. Amane wasn't a pervert, but Hanako is.

Hanako's reaction clearly shows that this was something he definitely wanted to hide from Tsukasa, a perverted Amane that he had never met before, oh, how would Amane be the perfect brother if he was perverted?

The same thing applies to Nene, she knows Hanako, but she doesn't know anything about Amane.

And if you allow me to paraphrase that moment, I would say

"Tsukasa wants to show everything about Amane to Nene, at the same time that Nene, even without intention, is showing Hanako to Tsukasa"

Each of them knows a phase of Hanako. Yes, phase, that's because Amane is still Hanako and Hanako is still Amane.

Even though there's little of his humanity left after becoming a supernatural, Amane is still rooted in Hanako's chest, and it's so much that it hurts.

About the comparison between Hanene and Amanene

We would see Amane being so chivalrous and kind, showing the truest side of him.

The shy little boy who buries his face in books, while squinting through the pages, sees the details in Nene, in a deeply disturbing silence. Maybe he fantasized about touching that face, fingering that hair, hugging her until his arms got tired.

Ah, imagination would give him the privilege of courage that he didn't have, but, to be fair, I say that he would take the initiative, ask her out, but perhaps he wouldn't tolerate shameful interactions, everything would happen slowly, at an inconstant pace. Trying to slowly become what she wanted.

Hanako would try to be what he is not, he would disguise his real intentions well, he would allow her to decide what to do, the priority would be fun, come on, have fun Nene-chan, as much as you can, during the process, a hug here, walking hand in hand there.

Maybe one day, who knows, I'll make a post about the differences between an Amanene and Hanene date, just one request.

Hi Kait, hope you've been doing well! I saw your latest post about the changes to your CMCs and I can't wait to find out what it's all about! How do you think the RFA + Minor trio would react to an MC that's taller than them? That's been on my mind lately and the thought is pretty entertaining lol Jumin, the tallest is at an incredible 184 cm so I doubt he often meets people that are at his height, let alone above it so I can imagine his surprise when he meets MC for the first time and has to slightly lift his head to properly look at her LMAO

I swear I've written something like this before but after checking my Masterlist, it seems I haven't done one for all the characters, and the prompts were too specific to fit this broad question.

Jaehee is average height. She's not too short and she's not exactly tall, either. She fits somewhere in the middle and is comfortable as she stands. She's never given much thought to having a partner who is taller or shorter than she is. She's never given thought to dating, if she's being honest about it, either. But, it's strange being with you. It isn't strange because you're strange, it's strange because she didn't realize she would greatly enjoy looking up at someone with a smile on her face.

Being with you feels like being home, and she isn't bothered by the fact that you're taller than she is. She's not insecure about her height. So, you being tall or short isn't a factor she thinks hard about until it occurs to her that you know how to envelop her in your arms.

She has a hard time being vulnerable with others, but with you, she does not have to think twice about trusting someone. She can sigh and lean her head back into your chest. Of course, not in public, Jaehee's not big on PDA in front of others, it's a bit embarrassing for her and she's still trying to ease her way into that.

Zen might be the one you expect to be insecure about being short compared to his partner but that's not the case. Babe, you are the love of his life and that means no matter what you look like, he's on his knees for you. He showers you in compliments all the time. He's determined to help you feel good in your skin. He enjoys when you use his head as a chin rest. You're too good to him.

It's all right if you're easily embarrassed by people gawking at you. If your height is something you're insecure about, he will be the first to tell you it's not something you should feel that way about. He knows what it feels like not to want eyes on your back everywhere you go. People are going to stare at you regardless of what you do because you're with him, but he'll do what he can to keep them from talking about your height in a bad light. 

Don't talk about his honey like that, it's bad enough fans get jealous, but nobody's going to insult you on his watch.

Yoosung is another person you might expect to be insecure about the fact that he's shorter than you. It makes sense that somebody would think that, after all, out of everyone, he is the character who struggles the most with trying to feel like a grown-up. A lot of his friends infantilize him whether they realize it or not and he doesn't appreciate that.

But, you being taller than him has nothing to do with him feeling insecure. It wouldn't feed into that fear he has of people seeing him as a kid. You are one of the only people in his life who doesn't treat him that way, so it never occurs to him to be insecure about the fact that you're taller than him. Even if somebody else points that out, it doesn't bother him because they don't understand your relationship. If anyone is allowed to cradle his cheeks and coo at him, it's you, because you're not doing it to baby him, you're doing it because you love him.

Jumin never expected to have a partner taller than him, but, if we're being honest, he never imagined a specific partner for himself. You are the one who comes into his life and helps him realize that being loved by another person and loving that person in return is about so much more than what people have tried to sell him. Love isn't just a superficial emotion, it's beautiful, and being with you makes him sit back and wonder how he got through those lonely years without you by his side. That's why you hold him when he's resting. This the only time in his life where he's ever WANTED to be held.

The only downside is that when people see the two of you together, it's like seeing a power couple. People might assume you’re a model purely because of your height, and standing next to Jumin who is as tall as they come, people won’t be able to imagine anything but the two of you benefited from being close to each other. Don't worry. He will stop any rumors that come. He loves being with you because you are you, not for any other reason. Wear heels if you want, stand next to him and make him smile when he has to look up, and beam in the glow of your love.

Saeyoung wants you to scoop him up. Can you please scoop him up and give him a little twirl? It's okay if you can't do that, if you have to sit down and put him on your lap, that's okay too! He doesn't mind, it just occurred to him that you're taller, which means you can give him the smothering of a lifetime with love. You know you've made major progress when he wants to be vulnerable with you. The man who is afraid to show even a fraction of his true self, that man, when he lets you hold him instead of the other way around, you've struck gold in his heart.

He could be taller than you if he wanted with the right heels, don't get him wrong, but he likes that you tower over him. It makes him feel so much better about finding you in a crowd. He likes to say that he can look up at you and the stars at the same time. You're his universe and who could ever deny that when he sees your smile no different than a shooting star come to greet him? You're ethereal, short or tall, but the edge you have on him is amazing.

V doesn't mind if his partner is taller than him. It's not something he ever considered but he's not opposed to it. Fortunately, he's in a way better place now which means you're not going to become an artistic muse. But, you inspire him to look at the sky and not worship the sun, but cherish the universe for what it is as opposed to something to lay down and revere. 

When you use his shoulders as something to lean on, he can't help but smile. He never felt like he could be held by another person before, always doing it for Rika, but you have helped him realize he deserves to be held... he can feel small. Looking up to see you smiling at him keeps his head out of the clouds. Frankly, he appreciates the fact that you're taller than him because you can nudge him in the right direction without a second thought. He needs to be pushed around sometimes, not because he's a pushover, but because he always needs a reminder to remember his progress and what he wants his life to be as opposed to always giving himself to others. 

GE Saeran never really thought about you being taller than him as far as he can remember. Ray didn't think about it, and Saeran only put a single thought in because you being taller than him made him feel as if he might be weaker than you. As far as he goes, he hasn't had a reason to think about it. Is that something you want him to think about? Sure, people point it out all the time when the two of you are together but it doesn't mean much to him because he's not sure why people point it out.

Is there a problem with you being taller than him? Well, people can have problems with it as much as they want, but it's not a problem between the two of you, so it's not really a concern, is it? He enjoys being shorter than you. That man is a little spoon through and through, so burying his face in your chest to listen to your heart or feeling your lips against the back of his throat is all he needs to feel better. 

Vanderwood would only be bothered by your height if you decided to poke fun at his height. When you think about it from his position, he's only annoyed because he's been made to feel like he's powerless against everyone who stands stronger than him. It's not even that you're taller than him, it's more so than anybody who speaks to him in a way that belittles his intelligence or capabilities makes him feel like he's back in the agency. So, as long as you're not mocking him when he's uncomfortable, then you don't have anything to worry about. 

Other than that, it doesn't matter if you are taller or shorter than him, he doesn’t think about that stuff. You might think about it, but it doesn't cross his mind all that often. It's nice to be able to find you in a crowd for what it's worth and that helps his paranoia quite a bit. Not that most people would realize he experiences that kind of paranoia, but you know him better than he knows himself these days.

he frowned

"what jealousy?"

"the one you have since you saw my ex walking in the shop"

he rolled his eyes

you rolled his eyes and sighed

"yeah sure.."

after a few minutes, he would come closer to you and kiss you on your forehead

"i'm the only one you love, right?"

you frowned, but understood after a few seconds

"oooh you're so jealous!! i knew it!" you smirked

he sigh and looked away, ignoring your eyes

"okay maybe i am.. and what??"

you took his hand and pecked his lips

"regie, you're the only love for me, you don't have to worry about him. i only love you and nothing will change that"

with your sweet words, he smiled

it reassured him

So because I am strange and always fascinated by posing cultural questions when it comes to creating crossover fanfiction, I had this wild thought worm recently for no reason: If you dumped Link (Legend of Zelda) into Thedas (Dragon Age), how the fuck would everyone in Thedas react to him?

I mean, depending on how you interpret Link's character, he doesn't talk. At all. I've always been of the opinion he speaks via some form of generalized Sign Language, but Why Would Thedas Share Any Common Signs? And who's to say there IS a formalized sign language in Thedas? Maybe there is, but it's technically a dead language now. The Elvhenan were fucked up but extremely modernized, so maybe they did have a Sign Language. Maybe the Dalish still have a lot of it, because Sign is a great way to silently communicate and Not Alert The Asshole Shemlen.

Either way, Link doesn't talk. And even if he can communicate via Sign Language, I highly doubt Hylian sign is gonna be understood. So there's one issue.

Secondly: Hylians don't look exactly like Theodosian elves. Modern elves of Thedas are scrawny and small but not too small; eyes bigger than a human and with cat-like night vision. Link? Link is canonically 5'2" and quite fit. Not skinny built and quite healthy, generally soft nonbinary features, bright eyes (at least in recent games; Link's got big fucking blues that almost glow for a nice contrast in TotK/BotW), pointy but not super pointy ears. Compared to Theodosian elves which are designed to look "distinctly fantastically different" in comparison to humans, Link just looks like a very short human with elf ears. So people might get a bit baffled at his looks; he's elfy but to the left.

Third: Hyrule isn't anti-magic. Magic is so inherently tied into everything in all the Legend of Zelda games, we the players just accept it. Link can wield magic rods and staves with no issue. Gerudo can use fire magic or summon lightning storms. Link can use magical items to summon winds, or devices that can magically transport him far distances. Rito can summon gales instinctually. Zora have water/ice magic and healing powers. If Link dodges correctly, he can seemingly slow time for a moment to deal a flurry attack. He uses Rauru's arm's magical abilities without blinking. The Master Sword is literally the ultimate magical item with a spirit inside of it.

Can you imagine Link losing his weapon in battle and just picking up a staff without thinking, but WHOOPS Thedas is kinda religiously anti-magic and someone is watching him just SUDDENLY THROWING ICE SPELLS (thinking about those magic staffs in BotW/TotK with the default AoE ice spell) without any hesitation? That is Not Normal for them like it is for Link. And Link himself like... Serves a powerful princess with the bloodline of a goddess. She literally tosses around light magic and time magic and shit. He probably can't begin to fathom a society that shuns something that so integral to Hyrule/Hyrule's safety in the face of Ganondorf's machinations.

Idk this was a bizarre thought worm I had. Maybe I will write a fanfic. Maybe I won't. It's interesting to think about in an extremely nerdy way, lol.

(also Link would HATE Solas but LOVE The Iron Bull and The Chargers. Prove me wrong, I dare you.)
