Hello! Been really enjoying your MHA takes especially the aftermath, it had me thinking but what if Hawks and the HC were responsible were for wiping out Izuku's record in the Final War. We know there was people recording Izuku's battle with Tomura but yet people not knowing about Izuku and acting like he is some mysterious legend just didn't sit right with me. But if they knew, OFA was going to disappear and there would be no Symbol of Peace in the short term until Mirio arrived (bleh). Then it would make sense why Hawks and company would delete this stuff for any number of reasons. It would be this weird sort of propaganda where the collective is glorified. While still retaining the status quo until they can find a stronger Symbol because I refuse to take seriously Mirio being number 1 cause his quirk is overrated.
This would help explain why Izuku's role in the war is essentially erased and no one seems to have remembered him despite being the deciding factor, but his depression/guilt means he doesn't care to talk about. It would be overwhelming for Izuku because the propaganda would only assert that his role was meaningless despite it being the contrary. Of course, it doesn't help that nobody does anything to help lift Izuku from his mental problems.
What your saying is absolutely plausible, however there are a few things that conflict with your theory.
No one really knew about OFA in the first place. This is a massive fuck up on Hori's part, as "canonically" only 3 people really know about OFA (5, if you count sheild and Melissa)
The fact is, the general public isn't really aware of what OFA was. To their knowledge Izuku might have been one of AFO's science projects or something of the sort, which could have created problems in trying to reestablish "order".
Thus the Commission thought it best for OFA to just fade into the background and that meant nipping every bud related to it. Including Midoriya.
You see, All Might is covered. He's made a name for himself and even though there was panic after his retirement, he's still one of the only people capable of standing firm. That alone grants him a level of protection and support networks that Midoriya clearly lacks.
The second issue is that the idea of a symbol is so ingrained with All Might (or rather the idea of AM) that OFA is connected to that by proxy.
The Commission needs a hero that doesn't exist anymore, because in a post Liberation War Japan? They can't exist.
Not when people have been exposed to how rotten the current system is underneath and no 'new coat of paint' will ever be enough to change that, no matter how fanciful the lie.
Midoriya by his very nature (and failings) as a hero, cannot become 'the greatest' in this world, because what once passed for the greatest turned out to be a human trafficking piece of shit, who was killed by his victim's own hand.
Izuku's record wasn't so much wiped, as much as he just gave up. He went so went so far off course that he wound up in a worse position than when he started and dragged everyone with him in the process.
The reality is a culture built on "out of sight, out of mind" when it comes to crime. MHA's Japan does this, but far, far worse and that isn't sustainable. Not when you have massive critics like Japan does.
Japan is in a free fall, Toshinori is one of those people, hopefully I'll get around to writing that mini chapter fully.
Hawks doesn't have the brains to lead. As seen in the U.N Meeting, he's a horrible politician (being a child soldier will do that). He's used to taking orders and polishing the boots of whomever is giving them, not sitting down and discussing how they (the nations) can use their power to make the world a better place.
As for the Hero Boards, due to the lack of participation, they fluctuate violently every term due to the smaller voting pool. Mirio's rank is only semi-consistant, with him constantly switching to number one and number three every odd poll showcase.
The portion of the public that still look up to heroes see him as a model person, but not a model hero. As they look for a hero that will never come.
The truth is there cannot be another All Might in the same way there can never be another AFO (Pre Kamio ofc). They were titans of their time, only able to exist because of the circumstances unique to their times.
There's a saying that is often misquoted
"The survival of the fittest"
This is an incomplete version of the phrase, the correct version is: "The survival of the fittest to adapt"
That is what evolution is, an arms race.
There will never truly be another All Might, there may never be another League Of Villains. But it doesn't matter, because some way, somehow.
The pieces will slot into place and then the real fun can begin. So long as their are those who slip through the cracks. So long as the current society stands.
There will always be that child that everyone can see, but choose to ignore.
They can lie to themselves, have them put on a happy face, shunt them to fitting into the current "mold" and then go home and wash their hands of responsibility because "I did my part".
It won't make them any less guilty.
It won't make those children any less adaptable.

things im noticing as i rewatch bnha, an ongoing thread:
SEASON 1
- deku really was such a nerd lmao he's just like me fr (like i KNEW but i didn't remember how much i could relate to it. oops.)
- it's also interesting that he always fights back against bakugo and calls him an idiot a lot. idk why (probably because of fandom characterization) i remembered early-seasons deku as a lot more innocent and scared of bakugo. like, here's the thing, deku is scared of pretty much everything at the start because he's shy/anxious. he gets nervous talking to most of his classmates (especially, but not only, girls) when he first meets them and starts trembling when he gets elected as class president before handing the role to iida. so basically, his anxiety isn't reserved to bakugo like i remembered – if anything, he seems to get over his fear of getting bullied by him pretty quickly once he realizes he can fight back.
- kaminari tried to ask uraraka out in their first or second day of school and she was like "uhhh i like to eat... uhh... WAIT DEKU CAME BACK FROM THE NURSE'S OFFICE" lol i really didn't remember that
- bakugo's insecurity was always there. as you're reading this you might be thinking i first watched mha with my eyes closed or sth, and you're not very far from the truth. here's the thing, i first watched it when i was like 14-15, so all i knew back then was that bakugo was insufferable and i didn't think further than that. of course, he ended up becoming one of my favorite bnha characters after reading all of the manga, but it's cool to realize his character arc was foreshadowed from the beginning and didn't just magically start around season 3.
- but yeah, anyway, bakugo's insecurity and his envy over deku's natural noble nature was always there, since season 1. also, deku's real admiration over bakugo was also there. like, going back to my other point, deku wasn't just Not Overly Scared of bakugo, he actually looked up to him despite knowing he was deeply flawed. tbh they were always a bit crazy about each other.
- uraraka is so funny i love her.
- all of class 1A was so chaotic good coded
- like they collectively made fun of bakugo on the bus to USJ for being rude lol. they really bonded over their shared dislike for the guy.
- bakugo gets fucking HUMBLED all of s1. i would also be irrationally angry ngl.
- the dialogues in the first season sometimes are so unnatural for the sake of exposition, like all might telling recovery girl: "do you mind not talking so loudly ab OFA? only you, a close friend, the principal, and midoriya know about OFA. but most professors and some pro heroes also know about my condition and not being able to fight for more than 3 hours a day" like WHO TALKS LIKE THAT ??!1?1?
- deku had to go to recovery girl's office a total of 4 times (if i counted correctly) for broken limbs of fingers in HIS FIRST WEEK of school. which is funnier considering no one else from class 1A had to go even once.
- damn shigaraki was a skinny legend before he got OP
- aizawa did not react at all when he first saw kurogiri (about the shirakumo thing). that was surprising.
- also. AIZAWA IS SO BADASS?? like yes i knew he was badass from the later seasons, but i genuinely didn't remember his first fighting sequence at USJ where he single-handedly fights like at least 20 villains.
- i had also forgotten that shigaraki calls eraserhead "really cool" so early on in the anime, i thought it was a later-seasons thing.
- this is really obvious but i had forgotten the all might theme's resemblance to superman's theme. it's such a cool little detail tho!
- uraraka and deku definitely were crushing on each other when they first met, but i think it's nice that they ended up developing a really strong friendship instead of getting together after hori didn't consistently develop them romantically. it also makes a lot more sense narratively, like why would we care who deku ends up with at the end of his first year of UA when the story actually ends 8 years after that, and it's very unlikely that you marry the same person you started dating when you were 15. idk, i liked that. i like that you can have two characters who maybe have a crush on each other but can't focus on that due to Circumstances and eventually move on and become good friends. it's a win for the platonic department!
- the animation was kinda bad in the first season 😭 but it's understandable and i had fun watching it regardless.
okay im done with s1 tune in for s2 !!

It would be interesting to hear everyone's favorite MHA characters in order and why they like them, it would help me with my tier list 🤔 the feedback would seriously make my numbers change...
But, for now, here's my top 5...
1. Hawks
2. Kirishima
3. Kaminari
4. Shinsou
5. Dabi
My rants on each character are below, but please, give me feedback on my decisions and your own! It might make me view the characters differently...
Hawks; Keigo, in reality is a strong individual and I admire him for it. He's confident, and careful- Confidence is something I lack and I find the people who do have the ability to stand up for themselves, make an amazing impression right off the bat and be strong against their opinions are truly amazing. I guess what I see in him is someone I wish I could live to be like..? He fought through so much, from his abuse, to the HPSC, and battle trauma, then he learnt not to look back too far and continue his path with purpose. He also prioritizes peoples safety, over hurting them, even though he did end up killing Twice... But before Twice's death, he kept him out of the line of LITERAL fire!
(PS, I love myself the BBQ bird duo 🤞)
Kirishima; Eijiro is the best wingman I've seen in MHA 🤝 he stands with loyalty beside his friends and always tries to find the good side in people, like with villains and Bakugou! (Even though for most villains, it doesn't really work out..) He sets his mind to things and won't give up on it till accomplished- and in his own words, that's pretty manly! He is strong for the sake of the people he cares for, and even strangers... People know they can trust him because of his pure courage that will keep them safe.
Kaminari; The best friend anyone could ask for 🤚 give it up for my man Denks!! This guy will fight up front for his friends, needed it not, he stands on BUSINESS (even though he may fail at defending you) he deeply cares for those that gain his trust and reciprocate it... Even if it's just a little, that little will end up growing because the guy will keep persevering for the sake of literal LOVE! 😭 He's a good guy to bond with, he, by what we view in the show, is very flexible when it comes to interests... He is friends with EVERYONE! 1-A and some of 1-B... (Even if some *cough* Bakugou *cough* don't want to admit it)
Shinsou; Hitoshi is... So dear to my heart. He was told he couldn't do something. He was told it would be better if he went on to follow a different path. And yet, he decided he would show those people wrong, that he could be someone amazing. He's a determined individual and refuses to give up, waiting patiently for his opportunities and seizing them once they are there. The strength he needed to succeed, he waited till he had it, and then gave it his all once he did. I strongly believe, Aizawa saw his potential and knew that he could lead a secure, promising hero life.
Dabi; Touya was someone I thought really hard about with my placing, I would have him higher if it wasn't for his drive being made up of pure resentment and revenge... But to be honest, he cares for his friends, literally attempting murder for them- (*cough* Twice *cough* Hawks *cough*) in fact, the only time we've seen him somewhat "cry" was for his friends. Ultimately I do relate to him, friends are more important than family to me, but when you deeply think about it, those friends are more like family than anything. When shown affection, he is cold and untrusting, but that's just the careful observing side of him, waiting for the proper information to actually have some interest in someone. I for one, WISH I was that organized and cautious. 🙌
(I am too clumsy and clueless in stressful situations 😤)

I'm sorry for the vent but I had to get this off my chest.
One of the many things that are annoying me about the people complaining about "so-called critics" is that they're either hero stans, dudebros, shippers (esp B*D* shippers) or Bakugo stans. And the latter genuinely annoy me the most. Like yeah so sorry that your fav was saved through the efforts of pro heroes TWICE and even got an awe-inspiring comeback and got to Save his childhood hero™. Yeah you ofc don't care about the story and think we're just being bitter over nothing because AT LEAST YOUR FAV DID NOT MEET A TRAGIC AND MISERABLE END!!! The hero who we thought would die saving you was instead revealed to be doing fine! See he's even growing his limbs back! Ofc you think your fav did not murder a villain (who mind you was pleading for Afo to give back Tomura) because *gasp* my boi can do no wrong!! And even if he were killed so what? Kurogiri's dead anyway! No point in saving a corpse! Instead let's focus on how Deku never ever acknowledges Bakugo for dying twice for him (OH HOW DARE HE!!!)
I do think deku and bakugo might have a talk about this next chapter. Hopefully maybe.
It's insulting how they seem to think we're viewing this story from the perspective of "Western lens" which is utterly baffling and stupid?? Because not everyone is western and our criticism is from a story telling perspective (hello?? themes? narratives? they do exist ya know). We're not someone to disrespect Japanese culture because I guarantee you we're not like that. Like honestly if this story wasn't so insistent on the whole "saving the villains" then we wouldn't be upset. If the manga didn't have Deku say "OFA is a power meant for saving" then we wouldn't have been so hopeful for months (like at least I would've known not to expect anything happy).
Oof....nail on the head.
Also. Let's be clear. When people try to divide the fandom by saying "western" and "eastern", what they usually, typically mean is AMERICAN. Maybe Europeans are lumped in with "western" also (because most of them they're not eastern culture), but honestly the commentary I see is mostly catered toward Americans.
Which I'm not gonna tell people to not make fun of Americans because lmao. Fair.
But acting like Japan is this enigma of a country for having conservative-like values regarding family units and societal expectations and that nobody outside of it, especially on the western half of the hemisphere, can possibly relate to it is just stupid. Would like to remind that other cultures that are vastly different from the US and share a lot of similarities with eastern culture are on the western half of the globe, idiots.
Not gonna dwell on the details of east and west. This isn't a "east" vs "west" issue. Yes there are people who do not take cultural contexts into consideration, either through simply not being aware or not bothering to research/hear what the contexts might mean. I personally do try to do my best to read what might be normal for Japanese people in the situations portrayed in the manga so I'm not wondering wtf is going on or why.
Disliking this ending has nothing to do with disrespecting Japanese culture. Todorokis for example: sorry but abuse is abuse. Hating the ending the Todoroki siblings were portrayed having is completely fair. Doesn't matter where you're from. Where I feel people need to start understanding why Hori might do something differently, or just shut the fuck up otherwise, is how he handled Rei in regards to her relationship with Endeavor. And the kids toward Endeavor. But saying "damn, that finale is fucking depressing, none of them look happy, there was no emotional release or anything, just damn" is not saying "fuck Japanese culture!" Like lmao.
There were plenty of people explaining that MHA is commenting on aspects of Japanese culture. Explaining how. Also, MHA is not the only manga that does shit like that. I also don't think saying "Wow these character arcs that were strongly hinted at going one way falling flat on their faces and going straight to hell is really shitty writing choices" is saying anything in regards to Japanese culture.
Also insisting that anyone who wanted the villains to be saved is disrespecting Japanese culture or opinions or whatever....I would like to ask where the fuck they think these tropes come from. Naruto says hi. Among others. We're not pulling these ideas out of thin air. They exist, WITHIN THIS MEDIUM, already. And MHA heavily resembles Naruto as is. So yeah. Idk, I'm not really reading anybody's bitch fits about the critics because I don't care. If they're happy then good for them. I'm not, and I'm not gonna pretend to be. I'm not trying to convince anybody to be mad with me. I'm really trying to make my peace with the manga and tell myself it's fiction, I can draw an ending I want later when I have the energy and motivation. I'll learn to live with it. If anybody has an issue with that then, well, they can argue with a wall.

man i never realised how much bullshit there is in mha canon that pissed me off until i sat down and thought about it. like even forgetting abt the sexism, perverted behaviour, abuse apologism, like some of the general mechanics of the world just,,, piss me off??? completely????
like i just remembered the bullshit thing that happened when the league fought that redestro guy and his followers i think. the whole 110% boost?? and i just. hate. everything. about it. the execution, the idea behind it “fear of death caused her quirk to evolve” and i just. oh god does it make me pissed.
it’s the idea of power of friendship makes you powerful except flipped on its head and turned inside out. it’s whipped out at that exact moment because horikoshi needed a way to throw his readers off w a twist in how the world works without throwing in yet more development of ofa.
i would 1000% be on board with this idea if it was introduced in a different way. because yes the power of friendship trope is a trope that’s been heavily used, but it’s a good one. maybe i’m salty that horikoshi gave it to the villains while he continues to criminally underdevelop the rest of ua outside of bakugou and todoroki. yes that’s including izuku, because horikoshi keeps doing my son dirty but only in personality wise, bc in canon he does not have the personality that fans interpret him as having (but that’s a whole other rant).
how abt the concept gets introduced while following some of the less spotlighted characters? using the licenses they got and thus far have not actually used them???
tsuyu getting backed into a corner after being separated from who she was working with, the villain has her completely immobilised as they plaster themselves to her, holding her tightly as they threaten to crush her to death. as she’s trapped in a corner and trying to keep her cool while pretty sure she’s going to die, the villain suddenly recoils when she manages to bite him. the villain promptly gets sick, and she can capture him.
the adrenaline of death made her quirk turn her ability to secrete a mildly irritating toxin into making her actually venemous. her bites make people incredibly sick.
or how about hagakure. she’s interning with a stealth hero and helps on a reconaissance mission. she and the hero are trying to infiltrate a den of villains so that they can gather intel before joining forces with another band of heroes to bring them down. only as they’ve infiltrated, they’re unable to intervene when a villain kills another villain. hagakure lets loose a horrified gasp and the villain now knows there’s someone in the room that shouldn’t be. hagakure is invisible, as long as she’s quiet she’ll be able to escape without the villain catching her.
...but the hero she’s interning with will be caught. and they’ll likely be killed as they’re not physically powerful. hagakure has the horrifying realisation that she’ll probably have to see her mentor get killed in front of her and she’ll have to not react in any way otherwise she’ll be killed right afterwards.
in her panic she grabs her mentor’s arm, and suddenly the hero is invisible just like hagakure, along with her costume and equipment. to two manage to get out of there, but hagakure can now make other people and things invisible when she touches them.
or even hey!! let’s go with an adult this time. hear me out, what if, this happened to aizawa? if you didn’t want to bloat the overhaul arc even more than it already was, then maybe not then, but what if aizawa was working on a job in conjunction to his students and who they’re interning with? maybe he has to watch as his kids get overpowered and the only thing saving them is how long he can keep his quirk going? it’s a game of waiting, the moment he blinks, that’s his kids dead in an instant.
it’s inevitable, he knows he’s going to have to blink but the longest he’s ever kept them open is around two minutes on a good day. he’s pushing it and he knows that he’s going to have to blink very soon he won’t be able to control when he does.
except when he does blink he finds his quirk still was active. he keeps his eyes open as long as he can afterwards, but only twenty seconds later he has to blink yet again. his quirk still holds.
eventually, the situation is resolved and when they go back to ua, and after some extensive testing with the help of present mic and midnight, they find that if aizawa only blinks his quirk stays active. it’s only when he closes his eyes for longer than a second does his quirk shut off.
like. great. it’s, it’s nice so have villains that evolve and stand on even ground with the good guys on the evolving and leveling up w/e. it’s good! it extends the time where a villain will be an actual threat to the protagonists, makes them harder to beat and keeps them as a solid adversary.
but hey horikoshi? you know you have other characters besides todoroki and bakugou you can develop on, right? how about the teachers? how about any other pro hero except endeavor who’s a utter piece of shit and so mind-numbingly boring. does he have a personality except “hates all might”? how about you just maybe think about your characters as more than just extras. treat them like they’re people, their issues and interests don’t get pushed aside or forgotten if they’re unimportant to what you want to do. give. some. DAMN depth to your characters outside your faves i am BEGGING you horikoshi.
#shut up danni#mha#it's time for another installment of 'danni gets pissed off at horikoshi again'#......you know i wasn't even doing ANYTHING related to mha and i thought of this#i was reading a yuri on ice sick fic#sigh#oh well#anyways here's a take i'm p proud of#pls reblog this and validate my anger#i just get so annoyed when i think of how much potential horikoshi is throwing away because he doesn't care#or when he does develop his female characters it's always ALWAYS halfhearted in how they're developed#and very often overshadowed by their male companions also getting major major development#but! that's another separate rant on horikoshi's sexism#danni’s hot takes

Dealing with Teen Pregnancy with the MHA Boys
Ft. Kirishima, Bakugou, Midoriya, Kaminari, Sero x AFAB!reader
Warnings: Swearing, implied sexual activity, teen pregnancy, mentions of abortion
Note: I pictured this to take place in your third year of high school when I wrote this so just keep that in mind
Eijirou Kirishima
He feels guilty.
From the second you find out you’re pregnant, he’s literally feeling sick with guilt.
Not only does he have it in his head that it’s his fault (despite that fact that he’s very much aware that isn't how sex works).
But he realises just how much a pregnancy is going to affect you compared to himself.
After all, you’re the one who’s going to have to deal with carrying the child throughout your toughest year of high school.
You’re the one who’s going to have to go through giving birth when you’re practically still a child yourself.
You’re the one who’s going to have to raise the baby once it’s born.
There’s no escape for you, for the entire rest of your life.
This honestly shocks him when he realises it - by comparison his own worries are basically nothing.
Hell, he could up and walk out of your life completely if he wanted to and would probably get away with it.
Not that he would - that’s probably the most unmanly thing in the history of unmanly things he could ever do.
Still, he's hella scared.
He knew the risks of having sex at an age where he probably wasn't emotionally prepared to deal with the consequences.
He just never thought it would happen to him.
Despite this, he's honestly the best partner.
Instead of feeling sorry for himself, he dedicates all his time to making sure you’re okay.
Through the entire pregnancy, he’s right by your side, ready with a helping hand whenever you need him.
He accepts the fact that he can't relate to what you’re going to, but he still tries his best to make things as comfortable as possible for you.
He helps you with school and keeps bringing you the work you miss when you’re forced to stop coming into class.
He also makes sure to fend off anyone who has sparky remarks to say about you.
He absolutely beat Monoma bloody during training when the other boy had some choice comments to say about your "lifestyle".
Once the baby is born, he’s no less supportive.
If anything he’s more
Now that the little thing is actually in the world, he becomes the absolute embodiment of "raising children is a two-man job".
He’s just such a great dad, despite being so young.
And he looooooves his baby to the moon and back.
Honestly, who wouldn't? Any child of yours and Kirishima's is going to be fucking adorable!
One of his favourite past-times is to lie in bed reading his school set-work books while his kid sleeps on his chest.
Katsuki Bakugou
He’s mad at first.
Really fucking mad.
Not at you.
At himself.
He screwed up, big time.
Not only is his hero career now at risk, so is yours.
Honestly the two of you needed a really long and serious discussion about whether or not you’re going to keep the baby.
Obviously Bakugou knows it’s ultimately your decision.
You’re the one who is pregnant, after all.
However he does provide a very strong case as to why having an abortion is a good option, or evening going the adoption route.
In the end though, you decide to keep it.
From the second that decision os made, Bakugou os in 100%.
He remains his usual grumpy self of course.
But there are small changes in the way he did things that only you noticed.
Such as how he yells slightly less when he knows you’re close by.
Or how he starts cooking more for you, making sure you’re getting balanced meals that provide you with all the right nutrients.
He so starts being less reckless when he’s fighting.
Something clicks within him when your bump first starts showing and he had the sudden realisation of holy fucking shit he’s going to be a father.
Because of this, he realises that he can’t afford to be as careless with his life as he once was - not that he regularly did dangerous things, however he does become significantly more careful.
He realised that if he died, he wasn't just sacrificing something as trivial as his own life anymore.
He would be sacrificing his future with his child.
And he isn’t willing to do that.
He also becomes more and more worried about you, the longer the pregnancy draws on.
When it’s obvious you’re in pain or discomfort, he’s visibly distressed.
He hates being in a situation where you’re suffering and there isn’t a single damn thing he can do.
The day you give birth can’t come soon enough.
Although, sitting through your ten hour labour is absolute torture for him.
For the first time ever, he skipped school to come be with you at the hospital.
(He definitely cries when the baby is finally born)
You wouldn't expect him to be the best teen after, considering how focussed he is on his goals and aspirations.
However, Bakugou considers it weak to sacrifice a part of his life as important as being a parent for the sake of his future career.
He’s going to do both and he’s going to do both well.
And he fucking does.
Having a kid softens him up a lot and he leaves his third year in high school as a much more mature person than he was when he started it.
Having that much responsibility at such a young age can do that to a person.
Honestly though, Bakugou couldn't have been happier with the way things turned out.
Especially when he gets to show off to his kid just how fucking amazing a pro-hero he is.
Izuku Midoriya
Honestly, he handles things pretty well.
Way better than any of his classmates ever could.
This is purely due to the fact that before y'all even reached third-base, Izuku sat you down and had a long talk about all the potential consequences that could come about as the result of you two having sex.
I honestly believe Izuku is the kind of person who wouldn't sleep with someone until he knew he was physically and emotionally ready to deal with having a child.
So once the initial shock of your discovery has finally worm off, Izuku was pretty much fine.
He figures that freaking out would do nothing but make the situation worse.
Plus, he isn't really the one who even has a right to freak out anyway - that’s yours and yours alone.
As a result, he does everything in his power to support you.
Hours are spent on his laptop, researching anything and everything he can find on the subject.
He makes meal plans, he works out ways for you to be able to keep up with your education when you have to eventually leave school, he does his best to prepare himself mentally for the strain that taking care of a child will put on both him and you.
And to top it all for, he remains right by your side to comfort you through the entire ordeal.
You honestly lose count of the number of times during those nine months, Izuku slips into your room to hold you as you cry into your pillow.
You asked him once, why he didn't just leave.
And he said,"I wouldn’t be much of a hero if I didn't stay to protect what's most precious to me."
Like okay sir, no need to melt my heart.
Anyway.
Once the baby is born, he turns the dial up to fucking 100.
He takes over basically all parenting responsibilites for a few months, which allows you to get back on track with school work.
He is such a perfect father.
His only downfall is the fact that he basically dresses the baby only on All Might merchandise.
Denki Kaminari
This boy is all over the place.
He is so confused.
“Huh?? You can get pregnant this young??”
Sex ed failed this kid.
It takes him a while to actually get things through his head.
But once that finally happens, he’s terrified.
He’s going to be a father? But he can barely factorise quadratics!?
I hate to say it, but he seriously considers leaving you.
Not out of malice - he just genuinely doesn’t feel ready at all.
But too bad for him, because he loves you way too much.
Enough to stay and make things work.
Shame, he tries his best to help throughout the pregnancy.
There isn’t much he can do, he’s barely able to keep up with his own life as a third-year.
But he tries.
He make sure he’s present for all your important doctors appointments and tries his best to understand everything your body is going through.
He also decides that now is a good time to up his game, in both his hero work and general education.
The second you get your first ultrasound pictures back, and he saw his kid for the first time, his resolve is set.
If he’s gonna be a good father for his kid, he’ll need to be a great hero, as well as a good student.
Weird as it sounds, you being pregnant gives him motivation to study.
And it works - he ends up as 7th in the class after midterms.
When you go into labour, this poor child has an absolutely panic attack.
It doesn’t help that it happens in the middle of the night and he gets awoken at two in the morning by Aizawa, telling him to get his ass to the hospital.
Thank fuck Kirishima, Bakugou, Sero and Mina are allowed to come with him - they hold him down, forcing him to wait outside the delivery room while you have the baby.
When he finally gets to hold his kid, he bawls his eyes out.
It all becomes real to him when he looks down at the tiny thing in his arms and he realises this is what his life will be like from now on.
He doesn’t mind though.
He immediately incorporates the kid into his daily routine.
He will literally take it to class with him if Aizawa hasn’t forbidden it.
The kid is his favourite person on earth right from the get go, and he will fry anyone who dares saying anything bad about it.
Hanta Sero
“Oh, you’re pregnant? Hm, okay.”
He is so laid back about it.
Sero is the kind of guy who will just take what the world gives him.
If you’re pregnant then you’re pregnant, there’s not much he can do about it.
Obviously he’s a little worried.
But for the most part, he’s willing to handle whatever happens.
This may sound weird but he is probably the most detached.
Not in the way that he doesn’t support you - he is just very much aware that you are the one who’ll be baring the brunt of the situation and so you should be the one who has complete control over it.
Whatever decision you make, whether it be about keeping the baby, about staying in school, about continuing to pursue a career as a pro-hero, he’s backing you with 100% of his energy.
He is very good at keeping you calm throughout the pregnancy.
Sero has a naturally soothing nature in general, and he uses it to his full advantage.
He’ll give you back massages when you get tense and will bring you snacks and treats when you’re craving them.
He’ll also read to you, or tell you stories to help you calm down.
He absolutely loves to talk to the baby.
He develops a habit of laying on his stomach, arms folded in front of him while he rests his chin of his forearms, just talking to your bump for hours.
He’ll tell the baby jokes, or funny stories from his day, or he’ll read poems or sing.
Sometimes he’ll also just play music, and lie quietly, just spending time with his unborn kind.
That baby leaves the womb knowing every lyric of Good Days by SZA I stg
Once the kid is born, you basically never see it.
He takes it everywhere with him.
He just loves spending time with his child.
His favourite thing to do is lie in his hammock holding his baby, using his tape to gentle swing the both of them back and forth.
He’s not embarrassed in the slightest about being a teen father - in the contrary, he tells literally anyone who will listen about it.
He’s also really big on education about teen pregnancy and sex in general.
Despite the fact that he loves his baby, and doesn’t regret a single thing, he knows that it’s not for everyone and he just wants more people to know the stuff he didn’t so they can avoid being in the same situation as you two were.
Especially once he becomes a better know pro hero, he’s absolutely educating his fans.

She Lit A Fire: Pt 1 - Damn Ducks
Pairing: Dad!Kirishima x F!Reader
Warnings: Missing child, swearing, drinking (of age), train wreck (like, an actual train crash, not a train wreck like one might describe a bad day... you get it)
Contains: Kirishima as a father. Reader has an established quirk. Main characters are in their late 20s. Fluff. Some angst. Broken family situation. Absent mother-figure.
Summary: You were sitting on a bench, rubbing your sore feet when you notice a little girl nearly fall into a pond and use your quirk to save her. You expected worried parents to rush over but no one came. Now you're on a mission to find this adorable, red-eyed, sharp-toothed, child's father.
A/N: Yeah, I know I have other things to finish but I was really feeling this and didn't want to wait. Reader is American. She is also related to an established MHA character (you can probably figure it out) but it'll be revealed later. As always, lemme know your thoughts and happy reading <3
Word Count: 3,180
Most of the time, Eijiro Kirishima loved being a Pro Hero. He loved the work he did, the people he met, and the lives he could protect. He knew he was risking his life every single day but he had the ability to help bring down those who strived to disrupt peace, and that was exactly what he was going to do. If villains wanted to come after him, his friends, other pros like him, let 'em! They were ready!
But four years ago all of that changed for Eijiro. Four years ago he was put in charge of protecting the most important person in the entire world, the whole damn universe! Four years ago was when his daughter was born.
She wasn't planned, not by any means, but she was his pride and joy. And, damn, there were so many things that could hurt her! If Eijiro could wrap her up in a bundle of bubble wrap and pillows, he would!
The fear that came with her learning to crawl, then walk, then tackling stairs, and even when her quirk manifested, no fear was greater than the day she vanished from the park.
All he'd done was look down at his phone! He was on call and wanted to make sure it wasn't anything urgent but that was all the time it'd taken for his daughter to disappear off the jungle gym. Suddenly, every horror story he'd been told when she was an infant was rampaging through his mind. How Taishiro had been so afraid of someone kidnapping his little one just as a means to get revenge on him.
Was that what was happening now? Had someone taken her because of something he'd done?
Eijiro ran around the park, scanning each and every group of people, calling out her name over and over again before frantically unlocking his phone,
You: Need help! Remi is missing from the park!
He sent the message to the group chat that consisted of everyone at their hero agency. Mina was the first to respond, she and Hanta were only five blocks away on patrol and would canvas the area. Denki was next, in the office so he could pull up all nearby traffic and security cameras he could.
Katsuki and Kyoka were already dealing with a situation and Hitoshi was off for the day, as were Itsuka and Tetsu. Itsuka responded though, the only one of the three was probably awake, saying she could be at the park in fifteen minutes. Eijiro accepted the help.
Eijiro tried to calm down, tried to think. Maybe no one had taken her. Maybe something distracted her, caught her attention, and she just wandered off. Then it smacked Eijiro in the face; the damn ducks.
>>><<<
You'd been sitting on a bench, feet sore as hell from walking all damn day. Job hunting was such a pain in the ass, especially in a city, scratch that, a country, that was completely foreign to you. The small stack of resumes you had left were being held down by your phone while you took a break, massaging the backs of your raw ankles.
The park you'd wandered into was peaceful with rolling grass that reminded you of home. It had a walking path that you might actually use one day but the feature that tied it all together was the huge pond at its center.
Flora flourished around the island at the heart of the pond, a faded blue bridge allowing people to walk across and admire the beauty up close. A family of ducks swam by in a perfect line and a little girl teetered after them right along the water's edge.
She couldn't have been older than three or four. Inky black hair pulled up in pigtails. She wore a pink and teal shirt with matching teal shorts and Band-Aids on both her knees. Red light-up shoes flashed when she chased after the ducklings, calling out for them to wait for her.
She was so close to the little ledge and you expected a concerned parent to be telling her to be careful or get back any moment now but no warning came.
The light-up shoes skidded on the gravel when she tried making a turn too quickly. Arms flailed outward and she tried balancing herself again but you saw her tipping towards the water that couldn't have been all that clean.
You sucked in a breath and threw your hand out towards the child, completely forgetting that you weren't a licensed hero here in Japan. You commanded the air around her body, holding her securely even as she looked around completely confused! It was easy to pull her back to the gravel path and release the air that held her.
"You okay?" Your shoes forgotten you hovered over the little girl with the ruby eyes and pointed ears.
"You saved me?"
"I just, I just saw what happened!" Playing the whole thing off while you tucked hair behind your own pointed ear. "You saved yourself, sweet pea!" The good thing about having a quirk that could utilize air; people couldn't always see it. It left room for deniability if used carefully.
Surely, someone would come forward now to get this little kid, right? No one did though, no one seemed to even be paying any attention to either of you. "So, where're your parents at, sweets? Are you here with a babysitter maybe?" Those red eyes suddenly went as wide as dinner plates.
"Uh-oh. Daddy gonna be so mad at me. I followed the duckies. He told me we'd see 'em on the way home but I wanted to now."
Well, then there was a chance there was a very worried father somewhere in this park... "Alright then, sweets, let's go find your dad then. What's he look like?"
With the child in tow, you gathered slipped your heels back on, groaning instantly. Gathered the resumes and your phone, shoving the latter into your pitiful excuse of a pocket while listening to her description.
"Daddy is super tall! And really manly!" She held onto your pinky while going on about the man in question, "He's got pointy teeth like me and long red hair that's colorful! Sometimes it's spiky up here but not today. Today he has it not spiky and up, like this," She mimicked a ponytail.
"Sounds like he shouldn't be too hard to find then. Do you remember where you saw him last?"
"I was on the jungle gym. He was at a table. Then I heard duckies!"
That would probably be helpful if you knew anything about this park. Looking around you saw a total of three different pathways leading to other sections of the park and two that went to different parking lots. You also didn't see a super tall manly man with long hair...
"What about your other parent? Or were you just here with your dad?"
The grip the little girl had on your finger tightened, "Just daddy." And she didn't say anything more.
"Do you remember which way you followed the duckies from?"
This time it was her little head that spun around. "Dat way!" The line of trees and bushes she pointed to weren't around any pathway. Fucking hell. This kid's dad was probably having a complete meltdown and you couldn't even blame the guy!
Two paths ran on either side of the tree line though, and as you walked closer to the one on the right you saw a man that fit the girl's description pretty well.
Now, you were used to men barely reaching 6-foot, tall. By that standard, this guy was a giant. He had a broad chest, wide shoulders, wore a light jacket with the sleeves pushed up past his elbows. Long red hair was mostly pulled back but looking rightfully disheveled as he yelled into the phone pressed to his ear.
You crouched beside the girl and pointed to the man, "Is that him?"
She nodded. "Mmhm. He looks really mad. Maybe I go play with duckies some more now."
To you though, the man didn't look mad but rather terrified. A perfectly reasonable reaction. "I think the duckies can wait. You need to let him know you're okay."
Small fingers latched onto yours even tighter and she asked so quietly, "Can you come with me?"
Was she that scared of her dad? Shit.
Well, if there was more than met the eye, you weren't gonna stand by and just watch it happen, that isn't exactly your style.
"Come on, kiddo." The little girl would her arms around your neck, allowing you to pick her up and carry her over.
"Of course I asked the other parents, Kats! My head isn't full of rocks like you think it is!" He was still yelling into the phone when you got in earshot. "Just lemme know if Kyoka hears anything, please!"
"Um, excuse me." He spun around and eyes that matched the girl's in your arms perfectly started welling with tears that he quickly wiped away on the back of his hand. He couldn't even see her face with how she'd buried it in the crook of your neck but, "I think this little one belongs to you."
"Remi... Kats, she's okay, I got her." He hung up the phone and slowly approached, eyes finally meeting yours. "Is she hurt? What happened? She's usually not this quiet."
"Not hurt! I think she's a little embarrassed is all." You rubbed the girl's back softly. "Can you tell your daddy you're okay so he doesn't think I tried hurting you, sweet pea?" You forced a laugh and, to much relief, the corner of the man's lips quirked up in a lopsided grin.
"I not hurt!" It was muffled against your neck but then she finally turned to look at him. "She didn't hurt me, daddy. She saved me from swimming with duckies."
"Whoa! I didn't do-"
His strangled laugh cut you off, "If you wanted to swim so badly, pebble, I woulda brought your suit!" She hid her face again. "Remiru here, despite her love of pretty much all water creatures and sea life, is terrified of water." He explained, tickling Remiru's side making her giggle.
"She says she didn't save me but she did, daddy! Wind came up and I didn't swim!"
Panic rose in your chest. You could not get reported for unregistered quirk use, not when you'd just barely moved here, you hadn't even found a job-
"It's fine." He smiled again. "You made sure my kid was safe, not like there's anything illegal about that."
The rules must have been different here than in the States. "Thanks."
Remiru shifted, allowing herself to switch over into her father's arms and you couldn't help but notice how absolutely tiny she looked in them.
"I should be thanking you, a million times over! Never been so damn scared in my entire life. Can I buy you a coffee or something? Gods, that sounds like such a shitty way to show my thanks..."
He seemed incredibly endearing, babbling on. "Thanks but that isn't necessary. I couldn't just leave her. And anyway, I gotta couple more of these to hand out before I'm out of daylight." You flashed the resumes.
"Job hunting, yikes. I have some contacts at the Alliance Hero Agency. Maybe that could help?"
Just the thought of stepping foot in another hero agency made your stomach fall. "Thank you but gonna do this the old fashion way. Guess you could say I'm stubborn like that."
"My best friend is the same way. Well, if you change your mind, reach out to them. They help a lot of people."
Before you knew it, the pair was walking off, back towards the pond this time with an eagle eye watching over Remiru.
"Wait! Pebble! You can't just go running off!"
You spun around just in time to have your legs tackled. "Thank you again. Windy hero!"
Hero...
>>><<<
"You didn't even get the woman's name?"
"No, I completely forgot."
Eijiro sank down into his recliner, brown leather worn exactly to his liking with a beer in his hand, his second after the day he'd had. Remi was finally asleep in her room after giving him yet another display of how the Windy Hero had saved her today.
"But, you said she seemed familiar?" Kyoka, sitting on the floor with her head resting against her husband's knee, was flipping across a database via tablet. Eijiro had felt terrible about not getting your name, not doing something as thanks. If he could just figure out who you were then maybe he could send flowers or a box of chocolates. And if anyone was able to track someone down, it was Kyoka Jiro.
He'd given her an approximate description of your appearance, the pointed ears specifically since Remi kept reminding him of them, Dada, they looked like mine! She'd told him at least three times in the bath. Eijiro had also provided Kyoka with what he assumed your quirk was, something to do with wind control. Air manipulation maybe. He'd assumed you didn't have any kind of hero license, not with how you reacted to using your quirk in public.
Kyoka had held up the tablet to him a few times but none of them were a match. Hair the wrong length or eyes just a shade off. "Shoulda just got her name." Katsuki grumbled, downing the last of his beer and carefully stepping around Kyoka to go into the kitchen for another.
"I know." Eijiro groaned and he slid further into his chair.
Eijiro saw Kyoka smirk even as she was still looking at the screen, "Was she cute?"
But Katsuki answered before he could. "'Course she was cute! Why else would he be trying this hard to find her!"
"Hey! I'd feel the need to thank anyone properly who brought my kid back! It doesn't have anything to do with how attractive she was or was not!"
"But she was though, wasn't she."
He relented, "Yeah, Kyo, yeah she was."
They searched until almost midnight having no luck but Kyoka promised to try and search from the office the following day, thinking the hero agency would be able to cast a wider net.
In the meantime, Eijiro walked around his quiet house, turning off all the lights save the one above the sink, making his lunch for the workday ahead of him, and flicked on Remi's Charge Bolt themed nightlight in the hallway before quietly opening the door to his daughter's room.
She laid with the blankets half thrown off her. Hair a dark and wild mess around her face and clutched to her chest was her favorite Dark Shadow plushy.
He'd been doing the single-parent thing for a while now. Had a set routine that worked well as a balance between being home for Remi and still being able to be a hero. It was a little chaotic but it worked and Remi was honestly a really great kid, never once complained.
It wasn't what he planned. Wasn't the way he wanted to bring her up. He never wanted her to think she wasn't wanted. But, his ex had already sewed those seeds in the little girl's mind. Eijiro would do everything in his power to make sure Remi knew just how cared for she was and he was one hell of a lucky guy that his friends were of a like mind.
They rallied around him, picked up the slack, hell, Mina practically lived with them for three weeks when he broke his collarbone and couldn't potty train without it being an absolute nightmare.
It didn't matter, the choices his ex had made, didn't matter that she threw their life away. Everything was gonna be alright.
"G'night, my little riot. Love you." He placed a kiss on her temple and pulled the blanket up to her chin even though he knew she'd kick it off again the moment he left.
He shed his clothes. Took a quick shower. And finally climbed into his own bed. His limbs felt heavy, worn out like he'd faced off against someone twice his size, he should have fallen right to sleep but behind his eyelids he only saw you.
Saw you, a complete stranger, holding his little girl. Her face buried in your neck. He should have immediately insisted you hand her over right? That was what a parent should do when their child had gone missing and then shows up in a stranger's arms but he didn't. He didn't feel like he'd have to.
Eijiro couldn't explain it to Katsuki or Kyoka but, you didn't feel like a stranger. You felt trustworthy. If he told Katsuki that he woulda been smacked upside the head, reminded that he shouldn't be as damn naive, he wasn't a kid anymore. But that was the only way he could think to describe the feeling you'd given him.
And then his usual curiosity kicked in.
Questions of who you were filled his mind. What was your favorite food? What do you like to do when it's raining? Do you prefer coffee or tea? And, perhaps the most frequent one; what was your name?
>>><<<
It'd been a week since you'd first started handing out resumes. Seven days since you'd found the little girl in the park. You'd thought about her and her father every once and a while, they'd slip into your mind when you least expected it. The look on the man's face when he spun around and saw her. His laugh. The way the two smiled the same.
Those sharky grins were in your mind again as you leaned against the cool window of the train car, utterly exhausted from yet another day of job hunting. Barely able to keep your eyes open and then everything changed in an instant. You were thrown from your seat, smacking your head on the metal bar in front of you before falling to the ground.
Everyone jolted as the train car rocked, most people joining you on the ground with frantic screams and cries over the sound of rushing air. You managed to pull yourself up enough to look out a window and felt nearly all the blood drain from your face. You'd been near the back of the train, not the last car but maybe the third or fourth, but now there was nothing in front of you. Just tracks and the nose of your car teetering over the edge of a valley.
Someone, a man in a dress shirt now stained with blood, was urging people to the back of the car. Something about needing everyone to move because if the car plummeted you'd all probably die. You joined the mass of twenty people or so, trying to maintain balance and climb into the waiting arms of the passengers in the safer car.
Another explosion rocked the train, this time from below.
You went tumbling down, down, down into the valley, into the darkness...

apologies for the long ass ask i was emotional.
oh i left you alone in a house not a home
and i watched the burning grow as my hair filled with grey
from the ashes that fell
the mountains i knew so well
burned with hellfire in the blue light lf midnight
brother i watched the sky burn
and all i learned was that smoke
fills the lungs like a disease...
- brother, madds buckley.
the song is really good by the way, go give it a listen.
but anyway. i can't really relate to the song as in the one singing, but as in the one being sung about. (yes. i know the song is about mha. no, i don't care, and will continue to use my own personal/an alternative also accurate interpretation for the song.)
i can relate to it as in... hm. how do i phrase this? im the one being refferred to as brother, and you (kuni, scara, the /balladeer/ whatever) is the one singing. i don't know what you felt when you left me, promising to be back (aka the memory with no memories after it beside a few about me and my girlfriend) but i know that you cared about me deeply. not only that, but my memories are deeply unstable. so yeah. but anyway.
we were brothers, yk? definitely not by blood, but you got me through the worst years of my life. and i miss you. and this song makes me think of you—and what you may have been thinking through out those years.
funny to think you, /the balladeer/, the sixth (?, i forget the numbers a lot.) fatui harbringer would have come to care so much about me—a shitty, cowardly 14 year old avian with nothing left in his life other than the wings on his back which later on he wouldn't even have.
you got me through a lot.
you got me through the loss of my wings, the strain of a delusion, the few times where i was concious and coherent and not just simply following orders and trying not to die. you got me through panic attacks, and protected me from a lot.
but then you left me. i doubt its because you hated me or anything, i know it's because you wanted me to be safe but... i just can't remember anything about you after that. and it makes me have some resentment towards you, because ill never know, or at least not anytime soon, know what you were thinking. the real reason. why you thought that was the /safest option./
...
i had a breakdown a few days ago. over my wings. and you. i was missing you so bad that i just started crying. and the i started missing my wings and just... everything. i had to be dragged out of front and i fell asleep on my moms couch in headspace.
some days, i miss you so bad and consider soulbonding, just straight up wishing you show up in the system, or wishing one day that i find you in the form of a canonmate. but yeah.
im 19 now (not bodily), and i miss you everyday. where ever you are.
brother by madds buckley reminds me of you a lot.

thanks for your answer! I read the meta you quote, but I was curious about your thoughts on Hawks' desires to help todoroki family with Dabi and to help the hero society and if they will lead him to sacrifice himself, as a redemption of his actions toward Twice. I've a feeling he will die in the end... (sorry if I wasn't clear about it in the previous ask, I'm not very good with English)
Again no need to apologize, your English is quite good! I’d actually like to apologize about the delay in answering your ask. During that time, the official translation for Chapter 306 came out as well.
I’m not sure if I will have anything insightful or analytical to say because I feel like a lot of other blogs have done a good job explaining their opinions, but I will do my best.
On Dabi
Hawks has been on opposing sides with Dabi ever since they first began interacting. Not to mention, he had exposed private information he had wanted hidden, to the public. It had also been revealed that Dabi is Todoroki Touya who is related to Endeavor. Hawks had expressed that he wanted to “help” Endeavor in Chapter 299 probably due to the relationship they have as pro heroes.
Currently, Dabi is one of the prominent faces of those seen as the “villains” who are trying to tear down the fabric of hero society which Hawks had been trained to uphold and defend.
And looking at Chapter 306, it seems like he may be up to something again.
Anyways, Shigaraki, Dabi and the others are trying to get their voice heard through violence, they do have a point in that hero society is flawed. I know I’ve probably talked about the same subject multiple times now but I think if we want to speculate about Hawks’ future, we have to look back at Jin’s death, and the aftermath.
Press Conference
In the most recent chapter, the top three heroes hold a press conference. While are many people who are furious, disappointed or have lost hope in the heroes, however we see that there are still many others who still want to believe that they can still trust and rely on the heroes.
During the press conference we see Endeavor and Hawks addressing the points that came up in Dabi’s broadcast. So far in previous chapters we have not been explicitly shown or told whether or not Hawks feels any type of regret or remorse for his actions. In Chapter 306, we get to see Hawks’ response to the public about the death of Twice.
“As for the matter of Bubaigawara... I felt I was left with no choice at the time.”
“If he had been allowed to wield his quirk freely... we would be looking at more widespread death and destruction.”
I think while it is important to note that this is his official response to the public, we have yet to think otherwise based on what his inner thoughts may be. So far he seems to believe that his actions were justified.
“I couldn’t find a proper way to help him atone for his crimes...”
I find it ironic that Hawks states that he could not “help” Jin atone for his crimes, while he himself has committed a crime and that one of the questions that we are exploring is if he will realize what he has done and will attempt to atone for his actions.
This is off topic but Horikoshi focuses in on Endeavor, with the side of the scar he received during the High End fight closest to us, while Hawks is talking about atoning.
“...and that is truly a shame. It speaks to my lack of character.”
What I personally think is a shame is that Hawks states that he believes his failure to help Jin atone for his crimes is what he points out as a testament to his lack of character. The fact that he took someone’s life does not come first. It is very, very dismissive towards his actions and demeaning to the entirety of Jin’s life and who he was.
Hawks and Midoriya
As you know, from the post I had linked in my first response, I think that we are supposed to be comparing Hawks to our main protagonist. I hope you don’t mind but I will be bringing up some of my points and arguments from that post again.
The major similarity which was the main cause of both conflicts was that they were up against individuals who had a quirk that was capable of widespread death and destruction. However the key difference between the two was their heart for empathy and understanding for the other, or in the case of Hawks, his lack of either.
While Hawks and Midoriya both are quite analytical and collect a lot of information, Hawks seems to be lost in the numbers if you get what I mean. Cold-hearted. He states that he believes that Jin is a good person as we see in Chapter 264 but I believe this is only because he and Jin had become close during his undercover mission.
Anyways, it quickly turns in to this:
“When neither side will give up... somebody has to die.”
While the heroes were attempting to take down Shigaraki and the other villains (which may have also ended in death), Midoriya displays compassion towards Shigaraki despite all the destruction, hurt and pain he had caused before he loses consciousness.
In Hawks’ own words, Jin was not beyond being helped or saved because he was “a good person.” But he does not receive the response that would have satisfied him. However, as many argue, death was avoidable. It was because of his calculations that Hawks went after Jin, and it was also because of calculations that he believed the murder was justified. Hundreds of thousands of lives over one: he could apologize about it later.
But Midoriya was and is also put in the same position. Hundreds of thousands of lives over one. Why am I bringing up the same arguments I talked about in that post? It’s because Chapters 305 and 306 is comparing the two yet again.
In Chapter 205, Midoriya is asked: “If a person who looks like they need saving... actually turns out to be someone beyond saving... will you have the resolve... to kill him, if that’s what it takes?”
To which, at the end of his answer Midoriya states, “One for all is a power meant for saving, not killing.”
The fact that the chapter with Midoriya’s meeting with the previous OFA holders and the press conference where Hawks addresses Jin’s murder come right after one another gives me further confirmation that we are supposed to compare these two characters. Meaning, I’m wondering if Hawks (vs Jin) actions will be set up as a foil against Midoriya’s (vs Shigaraki).
A hero is someone who saves and one of the key themes of BNHA/MHA is to explore what it means to be a hero. Hawks’ actions serves as an example of a hero’s failure to uphold his duty and it looks like MIdoriya’s heart is out to do his best to save Shigaraki despite what he’s done and what he may do.
If Hawks can not see what was wrong with murdering Jin, then I doubt he will do much to address the flaws in hero society. If he continues to fight for what was the status quo, then he will be defending the very system that failed individuals like Jin and the reason why he was killed. At the moment it seems that it is the adults, or the former generation who have fallen with hero society and that the younger generation is supposed to be the ones to right their wrongs and improve on their mistakes.
I really like Hawks and am always hoping to see change in him, however I think so far his arc is not setting up for redemption. Even the question of redemption with him is complicated and I’m sure people are divided on that topic.
I always express this: the story is still set in motion and anything can happen between now and by the time we get to the end of the series. So far, based on what we have been given it seems that Hawks is being set up to fall again. If we bring up the angel reference or metaphor, perhaps it’s implying that he believes that he can not do wrong. It is like a sacred job he undertook to protect humanity. He believes he is merely fulfilling his duty, when in reality maybe he is has become like a fallen angel.
“If getting my hands dirty can somehow bring everyone peace of mind.... I’ll gladly take on this task.”
But then again in this panel from Chapter 192, it is also possible that what Hawks is actually thinking about does not not line up with what he is saying. He’ll take the fall if someone needs to. With the current state of things, society is looking for someone to stand up for them and despite all that has happened, Endeavor, Hawks and Best Jeanist have chosen to stand up.
I’m not sure about whether I think that Hawks may die, but if he does I’m pretty sure that his death will mean something: as in maybe it will serve as some sort of commentary for who Hawks was and what he fought for.
Thank you for sending in your ask, and I hope that I properly answered your question :)

Just HOW corrupt is Hero Society?. Pt 1.
At this point in MHA's timeline, it's no secret that Hero Society is beyond saving. In my time lurking in these tags, I've seen the occasional post tackling some aspect of this corruption, all of which I found insightful. Today I'd like to share some of my own tidbits and thoughts regarding the sensationalized hellscape that is MHA's Japan.
Hawks' Origins:
Something that always bugged me was the timing, It seemed to good to be true. Hawks' dad gets caught, ENDEAVOR of all people is the one to do it and the Commission just happens to arrive.
Well, no. Let me ask you this, why would they send in the Number 2 hero to deal with a petty thief turned murder. A hard hitter like Endeavor would have been the WORST possible person to send as opposed to like, Eraserhead who would have been able to dissarm Takami quietly.
It's not like Mr. Takami was particularly dangerous either, his feathers at best could make for decent lockpicks or shivs but that doesn't justify Endeavor's appearance nor does it make sense given his arrogance. To him the situation would be small fries.
It just doesn't make sense when you assess the risk, it's not like Endeavor has ever been good at restraint (See: Hero Killer Arc) and the possibility of collateral wasn't exactly zero when you consider Mr. Takami got caught jacking a car (additionally not a major or dangerous crime). So he gets arrested, the seeds of Hero worship are planted in a young Keigo's mind and Hawks + his Mother flee and become homeless. Hawks eventually goes looking for the police and returns with:
Well they aren't police.
So, your telling me that these Commission agents just so happend to be around Hawks, here in some backwater cranny. What interest would the HPSC have in this dregg of a family (How do they even know their names). They shouldn't. Not unless they knew something before hand.
(I find it funny that the scene parallels how Tomura was found, down to their respective "saviors" having their own agendas)
We know Hawks used his quirk as a sort of motion detection system to alert his father of any intruders. Mind you, we don't know how far or accurate he was prior to the HPSC's efforts (minus being able to reach the city). So it's possible the HPSC avoided detection by watching from a distance and avoiding certain areas where Hawks could sense them.
Just how long was the Commission watching, how long did they allow the abuse to continue. How long did they watch the Takami's starve on the streets from afar before acting. So many questions, yet no answers.
"Cool but how does the HPSC tie to Endeavor?" You may be asking.
Well, sometime before the arrest happened Hawks had actually left the house and ventured into the nearby district woth his mother.
And came home with an Endeavor plush. Funny how that works huh?. It's not implausible to assume that the Commission simply requested Endeavor to handle Mr. Takami, possibly adjusting his schedule for their convenience.
I'm not suggesting that Endeavor knew of the Commission's scheme here, nor am I suggesting he (intentionally) helped. (Enji's cruel, yes. But he's also an idiot in anything not hero/celebrity related.).
Something I ask myself is, were there other candidates?. Children stuck in situations like Hawks', what happened to them. Were they abandoned to either die or become villains, killed to eliminate potential threats, or perhaps they were just born "unlucky".
Some final notes:
Hello, I apologize for the amateur nature of the formatting, I'm still getting used to the sites formatting options, as well as trying to figure out my "style" so to speak. Regardless I hope you found something in this post and look forward to your thoughts and opinions regarding the content above.
Yours truly,
Thr0wnaway.

not hawks related but, is it just me or is the 'villain izuku' trope kinda... weird? like, it feels very ooc to me because they're taking this kid who has been obsessed with heroes his whole life, and turning him into a villain? like, you're telling me that izuku, a boy who was so determined to prove everyone wrong, to show people quirkless people could be heroes, would so suddenly give up because things weren't going his way, and people were discriminating against him? that's all he knows, he grew up like that, and in spite of it all, in spite of the society that caused people to treat him that way, he still wanted to be a hero. he knows it's not okay, and he wants to set a new standard, why would he try to do that by becoming a villain? that wouldn't solve anything, in fact it could make it worse. they're basically just turning izuku into dabi. but instead of endeavor, its bakugou. it's turning a fight for equality into a revenge fantasy.
not to mention the fact that it's not in his personality. we saw that when izuku was first rejected by all-might, his first reaction was not to lash out or immediately turn on hero society. instead, he was resigned. likely, if izuku wasn't given his second chance, he probably would've become a normal citizen with mental health issues and an inferiority complex. maybe he would advocate for quirkless rights on weekends or something. but become a villain? you're telling me inko could raise a son with the capacity to turn evil? end even so, would izuku really turn his back on his mother? take one look at the midoriyas and tell me that they don't love each other to bits. you know how much izu becoming a villain would break inko? izuku wouldn't be able to do that to her. once again, the dabi parallels to villain!izuku here are plentiful here.
all this to say, unless it's some big au stuff we're talking, izuku wouldnt become a villain. he's boy who doesnt have an evil bone in his body, and whose reaction to being told to jump off the school was to be concerned about bakugou getting in trouble. anyway, what are your thoughts on this if u have any? (also if anything sounded insensitive, i deeply apologize! sometimes i'm not the best with words.)
Not a worry, you came across as very fair and reasonable!
I actually completely agree with you. The only AU that I could actually accept a Villain!Deku is a "Dark Mirror" AU in which all the bad guys are good and the good guys are bad. It's such a deep, integral part of Deku's identity to help others even at cost to himself so it would take some major break of character to convincingly come across as in-character. He would essentially become one of those grimdark antiheroes types that isn't secretly harboring a heart of gold - like Light Yagami.
In a somewhat surprising twist of events, MHA's very black and white approach to heroes and villains could offer a very interesting venue to find a way how the villains turned themselves around for the better and the heroes gave into their demons. They'd all still foil each other but in different ways.
It would be hard to do, but I think it is doable especially since MHA has a philosophy that it's your choice what to do with the cards life hands you. That would be interesting to explore, but outside of that context I don't see Villain!Deku as viable at all.

I had actually thought that Deku had adhd, but this makes me lot of sense too and I would totally 100% belive that him and Iida were autistic. And I frickin love Todoroki. Stain arc was one of my favorite arcs, the other being the arc where they saved Eri. And there is that one quote from Todoroki I can never forget: " no, even hero's must cry sometimes, I think." And can we just talk about how frickin inspiring these characters are, I mean, Deku said that he had to work a bit harder than most people to get into UA, and honestly he's just so relatable, I'm always crying while watching the earlier episodes, and Todoroki has a bad father and a mom who didn't mean to hurt him, but as a result of mental health problems did, and I can relate to that sort of relationship with parents. Even after I was adopted I mean. I actually have a mark on my arm that looks a bit like Todoroki's burn in a way, however, it's actually a bite mark. One time I was hurting myself again when I was 5 or 6 at school, ( a bad habit I learned from my birth parents as a toddler) and my adoptive mom found out and was super mad, and she cornered me and bit my arm while I was screaming and crying, asking me if I still wanted to hurt myself (that didn't work too well, it pretty much backfired), so yeah, I have that. Also, after all the stuff he's went through, Todoroki still tries to be a great student and aims to be a top hero, and while he isnt close with his dad and at first rejected the idea of using his fire side because he associated it with his dad, he didn't just quit anything, he wanted to be a great hero still! And Iida was so mad when his brother got hurt, something I can relate to because I hate when people are rude to my brother and I wind up wanting to fight people sometimes because they need to leave my brother alone. Also, THE HANDS and BOI'S, that is amazing! I also do that sometimes! Kirishima is also so cool! His backstory and everything was also something that made me cry. He couldn't move, and then he DID- If you can't tell, this is the one show that can get me to cry a lot. Also, I love dadmight, dadzawa, and dadmic!! And the original squad was great! Iida and Ochako were so concerned for Deku too though XD. They were like "boi, you are getting hurt, are you ok". Plus Deku writing in a notebook is awesome!! I would totally want to buy that if it was a real book, ok-
I'm sorry if this is a bit of a long reblog lol. I get a bit excited when it comes to this show. Sometimes I just watch a few episodes and I just basically have to stand up and jump around for like, 15 minutes to get all my energy out to the point where I can continue to watch this show, and the energy just comes out of nowhere. I've got myself to the point where I can also probably quote the all might video myself mainly because child deku is adorable. I also always now tell myself to do things" plus ultra!" and I reference it a lot and nobody knows what I'm talkinng about, but it means a lot to me. Sorry if I accidentally said anything offensive in this reblog. I'm excited, because someone was talking about mha, so I probably wasn't fully thinking about my wording choices
Y’AAAAAALL
LISTEN TO ME. HERE’S MY PROPOSAL:
- Midoriya is autistic ok I don’t make the rules. His special interest is hero’s and quirks, he’ll hyperfocus and infodump about this for H O U R S. This kid absentmindedly infodumping in a never ending cascade of mumbling. Tiny Izuku rocking back and forth HARDCORE waiting for momma to boot up The Video, which he can recite from memory it was the only thing he’d quote for w e e k s the echolalia was Strong
- Iida is also autistic, non-negotiable, this is Fact. Boy has no volume control, he’s gotta have routine and rules or else its !!!!!!!!!. black and white morals/worldview for days. His hands…..they stim. Scripts a lot because he will make All The Friends and this is How You People right
- These two boys are both chasing so so hard after a legacy, trying to live up to and be worthy of those who came before them and both have to deal with the fall of their hero, face the fact that Their Hero isn’t/soon won’t be able to do Hero-ing and it’s up to them to take up where they left off, I mean you gUYS
- How can you not?? Love these two besties????? They and Ochako make up the Trifecta. The Golden Trio. The Original Flavor Squad. They admire and inspire each other and support each otherrrrrr
- BONUS ROUND: ENTER THIRD BOI STAGE LEFT pursued by endeavor. THIS boy trying to RUN from HIS legacy. trying to. shall we say. bend fate????? Like a certain other kid with a hero dad yes??? I don’t need to go into this everyone and their moms heard of tododeku and its a Good
- Todoiideku is the Legacy Trifecta. the Fate Trio. stain arc is a gift and it Opened My EYes to iida and midoriyas fukigns. good vibes. why no one talking about these two, and three, these lovely lovely boys out to grab destiny and make it their bitch
- unrelated: present mic is also autistic but more importantly both he and bakugou have some degree of hearing loss, that’s a whole other story. theres dadmight and dadzawa but has anyone talked about dadmic? I think we could get some dadmic up in here
