I don’t like that in Mutant Mayhem Donnie is not a “science guy” but instead is more of an anime and pop culture geek. I’m not against him being an anime fan (I love anime too) but I wish we saw more of his science and being a tech genius side instead of him just liking stereotypical “nerdy stuff”. If that makes sense.

I don’t like the Punk Frogs (any version).

The 87 crossover episodes in the 2012 series (as much as I did enjoy them & are great episodes) should not have happened. They leave no real impact or development to 2012’s overarching story and just waste time. These episodes could’ve covered more important things that 202 was desperately lacking like like character exploration and character dynamic development. It was just nostalgic fanservice. The arc in S5 specifically would’ve work better as a movie instead of a 3-4 episode arc in the (most likely non canon) final season.

Shinigami being Mikey’s second love interests ruins her character a bit (for me personally). That was a pointless decision that did NOT need to happen. She would’ve been our first recurring female character to not be a love interest, but nope!

People are allowed to like/ship Donnie x April in ROTTMNT (this is coming from someone who’s not crazy about April being shipped with the Turtles).

I ship Yuichi with 2012 Leo more than Rise Leo (still ship Rise Leoichi, but I just think 2012 Leoichi is way more interesting, plus 2012 Leo deserves a good love interest).

The humans in Mutant Mayhem look ugly af (I know that was probably an intentional design choice but still. It looks bad.)

I hate Raph x Casey (any ver). I’ve stated in part one that I don’t like Raph (any version) being in a romantic relationship with human characters and yes, that meant him with Casey. Not only that but Raph and Casey being a couple ruins their whole dynamic and iconic friendship I love so much. I’m all for friends to lovers but they are a line that should not be crossed. Not every friendship needs to turn romantic.

2012 Karai’s hair looks bad.

Fans often over exaggerate Rise Donnie’s character and badly mischaracterize him in fanfics and fan comics to the point it makes him feel like he’s an entirely different character.

Shinigami should have been revealed to be a villain.

Rise Donnie was just as mean to his brother as fans claim 2012 Raph was to his. Yes, they both do love their families and I’m NOT saying either of them are abus!ce (they’re not), but fans praising Rise Donnie for doing similar things fans criticize/hate 2012 Raph for doing just makes them hypocrites.

Venus does NOT need to be in every iteration of TMNT. It gets kind of annoying when fans keep on saying that she should be in all the other iterations when in truth her presence would not make sense based on the already established canon story. The only (recent) version of TMNT where I think her being included would’ve fit the best and deserved to make her comeback in is ROTTMNT.

The side plot of 2012 Karai being mutated and later getting brainwashed by Shredder was a waste of time and the most boring arc in the series.

2012 April, Donnie and Casey being in a poly relationship does not fix anything with their problematic dynamic and massive flaws with one another. I'm not saying you can't ship all three of them together, you do you! Idc But in reality their relationship would be a train wreck, that's why I personally don't ship 2012 Capriltello.

Renet is probably one of the most powerful allies the Turtles have in the 2012 series.

Rise Donnie would NOT hate 2012 April. He’d go crazy over her psychic powers and want to study them to help her explore them more.

From what I've seen so far, Leo x Usagi seems like the only GOOD ship in the 2003 series (this hot take might change tho).

Raph had the best character arc and development in the 2012 series and changed the most out of the four brothers. Next would be Leo. With Mikey and Donnie have little development (or none at all sadly).

-You got one in a relationship? Wow, amazing! You got both of them at the same time? How in the hell do you manage this!? It's like having two overactive dogs in a small apartment most of the time! If one day you're not busy trying to keep Rappa from killing some poor stranger on the street then the next day you're busy keeping Muscular out of trouble. And don't even get me started on how much energy it takes to keep them from both going at each other's necks. In fact, they didn't even want to tolerate each other until they realized the end goal was having you. Then they learned how to get along somewhat...It's been maybe 2 weeks so far that you've managed to keep them from going at each other until earlier this morning when you caught them fighting over the last brown egg in the fridge. There were plenty of other eggs but the brown one was essential according to them. Or maybe because it was farm fresh that made them go crazy? Either way, that was how the morning went.

-Later in the evening you managed to get them to make up in time for you three to watch your favorite show together. Watching it was more like watching those two give hilarious commentary on their least favorite characters (which was basically everybody that wasn't violent or vulgar). Still, they both manage to always make you laugh so it wasn't too big of a deal. Also being with the two of them pay off bedroom-wise (depending on reader preference) but I won't go into too much detail here and now.

-These two can be the definition of scary dog privlege. You need not worry about going anywhere and feeling unsafe with these two by your side. The only thing you truly need to worry about is the safety of OTHERS when you bring these two around. Their unruly behavior has gotten then on a couple of hit lists in the past. That's why it's important to steer clear of too much bar time or even some cage fighting matches less you want to have your eardrums blown out by their incessant howling over the match.

-Don't expect much rest because the both of them are gym rats and they always end up waking you to get you involved as well. It can border on the absurd depending on the time or day of things. Rappa knows especially how you have work to do so you're getting rest. However, he's the main one waking you up majority of the time. Sometimes, despite being annoying, it can be a bit of a cute scene. Grown man Rappa waking you up with hoping eyes that you'll go to the gym with them. Then you look over and Muscular has his head peeking from around the corner as he also waits to hear your answer. Maybe just humor them every once in a while and tag along. It'll be a rare chance to watch them behave while in public lol.

-Even though they may seem like they want to kill each other, there are the sweet moments you get to witness when they get along that make it all worth your wild. Another example would be those lazy Sunday mornings when the sun is just barely allowing it's beams to creep along the carpet of your bedroom through the glass. It's illuminating your bodies all bundled up beneath the blanket together. There you can see Rappa's ridiculous morning hair and Goto's soft smile...his genuine REAL smile and not the shit eating grin you're so used to. Both of them making way for each other to hold you closely as they rest comfortably by your side. Everything seemingly at peace until the snoring seems to get louder and louder!

you loved your boys, more than words could describe. moving in together was the best thing that had ever happened to you.

stolen kisses between the three of them and you whilst you were cooking, movie nights cuddled up under blankets watching a new movie.

life couldn’t be more perfect if you tried.

you were currently in your study, all of the boys and you had dedicated rooms for yourselves to do work or game. gaming was much more james and sirius’ thing than yours and remus’.

currently you had a paper you needed to write and you couldn’t focus.

james and remus had been popping in every couple of minutes to check if you were okay and just to hang out.

remus was mostly the one checking in on you whilst james sat on the floor with his head on your thighs pouting and poking you until you gave him your attention.

sirius was out getting groceries for dinner tonight since you weren’t able to.

when you heard the door open downstairs you made your way down to get a start on dinner.

all of the boys were relatively okay cooks but nothing topped your cooking.

you were brought up in an indian household and your mum had raised you on a multicultural diet but not a week went by where she didn’t make at least one curry or indian dish.

james and sirius, having grown up with english food weren’t that good with handling spices but remus was a lover of all kinds of food so all you really did when cooking was just make sure james and sirius had slightly milder portions of curry.

today you were making butter chicken, naan and a side of rice.

whilst you started on the butter chicken, remus made his way into the kitchen to start with the naan. he wasn’t that good at cooking but he was an excellent baker.

since you couldn’t trust sirius with much things concerning the kitchen you let him wash and boil the rice.

you all worked together in harmonic chaos, the ever so subtle curse leaving sirius’ lips as he burnt himself trying to test if the rice was ready and the huff of remus as he kneaded the dough.

james had walked into the kitchen after his shower and sat at the island making conversation with you all as you cooked.

once the meal was done you all sat at the table, you and sirius next to one another, james across from you and remus across from sirius.

as you broke your naan and grabbed some butter chicken in your hand you felt sirius tap your hand

you looked at him and he opened his mouth dramatically with an “aaah” supposedly asking you to feed him.

you laughed at him and slowly fed him some butter chicken whilst grasping his face making sure not to make a mess of your white tablecloth.

james and remus both looked at each other mischievously as they both then turned to you whining that you hadn’t hand fed them, claiming it was unfair to have favorites so now you had to feed all of them.

you shook your head at your man children before leaning over the table making sure your t shirt didn’t make it into any of the dishes before you fed james who just smiled lovingly up at you.

you turned to remus who grinned and enthusiastically hummed as you fed him, and playfully biting your hand.

you tapped his cheek slightly scolding him.

you couldn’t help but feel the warmth radiating through you, you knew your parents weren’t supportive of the whole polyamorous community but these boys had become your lifeline.

as you all finished eating you sat down in the living room, laying your head down on james lap and your feet on remus’ as sirius sat on the floor laying in between james legs you played with his hair.

There was nothing quite as lovely as the air in late spring. Pavitr liked seeing your skin glow in the sun, the way you stretched your limbs like a lazy cat when you were laying in the grass of the town square after school. Your school uniform only slightly messy, your braids would cascade on the green grass as you laid your head and take a sip of your juice box.

"Gaaah, I don't even want to know my score in that chemistry quiz" Your face contorns in faux agony and you roll around the grass adding to the dramatic effect

"Do you need a hug?" He asked with a cheeky smile

You pouted and nodded with a little noise, and Pavitr, who had already set his backpack and other things aside to prepare, jumped into your arms, hugging you tightly and rolling around with you

"You're not coming? You flashed your best puppy eyes at Gayatri, who was pressing a cold soda can next to her cheek to fight the heat, she arched an eyebrow and moved her lips to the side "are you guys sweaty?"

You and Pavitr looked at eachother, in silent agreement, then said a very long but not very convincing "Nooooo", she looked at you with distrust, and tried to crawl away from your spot, but Pavitr grabbed her by her ankle and you followed, you pounced on her and you trapped her between your bodies, ignoring her screams mixed with laughs and pleas for you to get off, even in playful fighting, she welcomed you.

He was freshly Spider-Man when the bus accident happened, or was supposed to happen. He understood the might of the mask for the first time, when he hugged you both after saving the bus from falling, completely forgetting about how he had to keep his secret identity, secret. It didn't matter, you were safe, inspector Singh was safe, Mumbattan was... It definitely had looked better, but at least it was standing. He loved being Spider-Man, he was about to lost the people he cherished the most, but he was able to save them.

He saved you both one, two, three, far too many times, his heart would always return to life after seeing you alive and well, Gayatri was a target more often due to her being more recognizable, being inspector's Singh daughter as well. That's why it was such an unpleasant surprise when the green goblin took you, he had been silent and Pavitr had no idea where he hid you, he had no secret lair to go look in, he wasn't bulldozing a building or anything of sorts that would give him a clue.

He frantically looked for you, feeling his muscles tense up and his insides feeling like they were tied into knots, he tried to focus as if every thought of doom wasn't racing in his head. He tried to calm himself down, this had happen before, but you always come back, the three of you always come back, always together in the end. And this time it was the same, he was able to save you mid fight with the green goblin. He loved his spider powers more than ever, he's not only the most dashing hero in two legs, he's easily the most versatile, who else could save a girl from falling so seamlessly?

"Y/N?" He called your name, recognizing you were in a shock state, he wanted to make sure you were stable enough to take you to a hospital. He'd gladly run away from a fight if it means saving you

The green Goblin's voice mocked him in the background "you don't understand?" of course he didn't, he saved you. He saved you

"Y/N? I saved you, you can't be-" No... No, no, no, no, no. "You can't be dead, I don't want you to be dead!" His tears blurred his vision and left a dark patch in his colorful mask. You loved that mask, his suit, you loved that he was Spider-Man, but most importantly, you loved Pavitr Prabhakar and Gayatri Singh.

"I saved you, honey, can't you see?" His voice was breaking, that wasn't a question, it was an entreaty, a plead. A prayer leaving his lips, his soul. He asked for only one thing, "Don't be dead" whatever came next, he'd handle it, you'd handle it together, but how can he protect you, stay by your side when you weren't there? When in just a couple hours your body would start to get stiff? Leaving more than evident what he was holding in his arms, was not his beloved, but her corpse. This was the night Y/N L/N died.

What happened next, Pavitr doesn't like to talk about, he's ashamed about it. He can't decide on what, though, his first instinct is to feel shame for how violent he was, how he got in a frenzy and forgot his morals completely, and in the other hand, in days where there's no amount of blankets or cuddles that can do something to the cold emptiness in his chest, or when he sees Gayatri unable to exist without thinking about you, he feels shame, regret that he didn't kill the green goblin.

Gayatri feels shame as well, she's ashamed about her reaction, she wished that when Pavitr broke the news to her, she went for a long, comforting hug, those hugs that say "I'm here for you, we'll figure it out" or maybe a hug that just says "I love you" maybe that's the only thing he needed to hear, but what he did not need to hear was "How could you let that happen?" Not "We trusted you", but that's what came out of her mouth. The only reason she stopped was because couldn't even talk with how hard she was crying. Her whole world shattered, she didn't want to compare, but she knew Pavitr didn't understand how much deeper the cut was for her. She knew that girl since childhood, had to see her go on a date with dumb guy on the block, repressing her feelings for years before she was in her arms, Y/N was not only one of the loves of her life, she would always be her best friend. You were girls together, and it hurt in every way that you would imagine.

Gayatri and Pavitr stood next to your mother in the funeral, stiff, quiet, like statues. They held her hands to prevent her from going to reach you when the coffin was descending, when it was clear that this was happening, it was final. No gravestone should ever have only seventeen years of difference between birth and passing. How could you be dead when you hadn't even made it to your 18th birthday yet? They had things planned for your birthday, but now, it was an incomplete milestone, that you'd never reach, like a million others, because no gravestone should ever have only seventeen years between birth and passing.

One, two, no longer three, it's only you and me.

"What if we never told her?" Gayatri asked, curled up in Pavitr's chest, in one of those days where none of them could get out of bed. Gayatri's dad had lost all severity that characterized the parents of teenagers after all that happened, his child was depressed, broken, and he had no clue what to do about it, and he couldn't say didn't love that girl like a second daughter, even before you started dating.

"Told her what?" They didn't have to say the name to know who they were talking about

"We- were dating before, just me and you, maybe if we stayed like that, and never told her, I'd be the one... Gone. And she'd get to live with you" something inside Gayatri told her that for some reason, that was what was to happen. That she should pass away, then an old love of his would get to nurse him back to health, get to keep him. If she had the option to watch the two people she loves the most in this world get married and be happy, she wouldn't doubt it for a second, she'd die with a smile in her face

"Don't say stuff like that" he hugged her tighter "She wouldn't want you to say that" lately, you functioned in their minds like an angel in their shoulder, every bad choice was always stopped by the thought of "Y/N wouldn't want me to" they would never reject even the smallest portion of you, now that it was all that they had left, they'd follow your orders until the end of the world.

Pavitr hung his mask for a long time, he couldn't bear to continue, he only had attended a few missions and meetings in the spider society, in hopes of keeping his watch, he already lost too much to lose his friends too. They stood by him, particularly Gwen, she was the best comforting him and empathizing with his grief, she had lost someone she loved too. She guided him through everything, was never harsh or tip-toed around him, even when he'd lash out and say something hurtful, Gwen fully understood, waited for him to reach out, and reassured him she could never hate him, she was his friend, and most importantly, she knew it was hard to not hurt others accidentally, when all you have inside of you is hurt, at the lowest point, is all you have to give.

That's why Gwen made sure neither Miles or Hobie mentioned the newest member of the society, and of course, not mention she was getting close to them.

"I 'ont think secrecy is the right way to go, Gwendy" Hobie said, he was an honest guy, he didn't like lying by omission, in his opinion, his friend had to process his grief while being aware of reality too

"I'm low-key with Hobie on this, I mean, this is full of Peter Parkers, and- maybe I should stay out of this one, sorry" Miles cut himself off when he saw Gwen's expression at his words, he tried to be the middle ground, but he recognized he didn't have much right to talk, since he didn't experience that

Seeing them and inevitably thinking "hey, this is maybe how my best friend would look if he got the chance to grow up" but no, he'll stay thirteen forever, and it's still hard. It hasn't even been a year, so I don't want Pavitr to go through that so soon" even though Gwen's tone was anything but friendly, they both got the message, she wasn't mad, she was just being protective of Pavitr

However, they could only control their words, nothing else, and Pavitr ended up meeting this Y/N when he came without prior notice and sat down at the cafeteria, in that table where they always sat, where he sat when he was more active in the spider society, and there she was, Y/N, in her very own Spider-Man suit. She looked different, shorter hair, a beauty mark on top of her left eyebrow, and higher cheekbones, he had your face tattooed in his memory, he never wanted to forget it, just like your voice. Her smile was bright, it reminded him of yours, but it wasn't quite as beautiful, maybe because this Y/N was not in love with him. Oh, how your love made you glow.

He sat down, and just pretend everything was fine, he was good at that.

"Hey, nice to meet you, but I have a, uh, thing that I was hoping to get done"

"Oh no, don't worry, I'm fine, it's not your fault you're here" He eased her worries and started to strike conversation with his friends like usual, new member included.

After that day, Pavitr showed up more often, he knew that he was just going to hurt himself, he didn't want to add salt to the wound, but he couldn't help it, he could hear your voice, look into your eyes again, he knew it wasn't you, he didn't even had feelings for her, like gossipy spiders suggested, as bad as it was, he just wanted to see you in her.

Gayatri noticed he was going to the society much more often, yet he had no interest in returning to be Mumbattan's Spider-Man, something wasn't adding up, and Pavitr told her immediately, Gayatri was his life, and he didn't want to keep secrets, even if he's embarrassed.

"Could you, maybe, let me see her?" She asked tilting her head and biting the inside of her lips anxiously, if she could see you one last time, she'd be satisfied, she never got to say goodbye. Re-reading your lasts texts for hours, knowing that those "I miss you" messages will never be delivered, much less responded.

"It's not her, you know that, right, love?" Pavitr asked, knowing first hand how painful it was.

"I know" she nodded with a bitter expression, hugging her boyfriend, hiding like the crook of his neck was a safe haven from all the cruelty in the world

>Pavitr: "we need to talk, could you swing by Mumbattan?"

When Gayatri saw her, she tried to smile through the tears, restricting herself from hugging and kissing you, knowing it was inappropriate, this wasn't you.

"I know you are your own person, and this is weird, but, could you say you're proud of me?" She looked at the variant with pleading eyes.

This was not the first time spiders seemed emotional near you, it seems you were unreliable, and had this tendency of dying on people. You understood, your mother and your best friend died too, Hobie knows how many times you have asked him to just stay still, so you could see what your best friend would've looked if he grew up with you, if he was Spider-Man instead of you. Grief is painful, but most of all, it's confusing. You nodded. "I'm proud of you, both of you, you kept going, I know how hard that is" you were sincere, even though you didn't know Gayatri, and didn't know Pavitr that well, anyone who lost half of his heart and keeps going, is someone you should be proud of.

"There's so many universes, I promise you there's one where you, well, we are all happy. Just live your life together, cherish each other there's variants that have nothing left"

They thanked you for being this kind, you felt uneasy after leaving, you were talking about yourself, you were the variant that had nothing left. You wonder why you were born where you did, and couldn't be theirs, that look they gave you, even though you couldn't reciprocate, that's love. No one in your universe had ever looked at you like that, but they would always mourn their Y/N, that's why you left. For now, you only need to worry about Pavitr never noticing the way you looked at Miles Morales.

faith is 6'6". she is very tall. beverly's sprite is probably larger, but that's more a matter of NPC sprites generally being big rather than an indication of her actual height. i'd say she's only supposed to be around 6', give or take

How do you feel about fanworks of slarpg? Specifically, which mediums would you be okay with fanworks existing in, and how do you feel about people using assets from the game?

fanworks of basically all kinds are encouraged! there's already a (very small) fangame about melody's cat in the works and i think that rules. considering my own roots as a fanartist and fangame creator i think it would be lame of me to discourage that

that being said, a few simple stipulations:

1) i ask people hold off on any sort of mass-produced merch like t-shirts or pins. custom items, commissioning someone to draw the cast, a small run of prints sold at a con table, etc. are fine by me, but i may end up making merch myself and bee and i need to make a living off of this game. when we're an operation this small, putting up a bunch of slarpg designs on redbubble could be a problem for me

2) please do not use visual assets from slarpg (including edits of my sprites) in a commercial product. using them in a mod or a freeware fangame is fine, though

3) if you do make a fangame or mod or whatever, please make sure it's clearly stated that it's unofficial, and also please don't just publicly distribute the entire game for free (modded or otherwise)

From a story perspective, not a mechanical one: was polyamory ever a consideration for the party members in SLARPG? Can you see any polyamorous relationships working well between main-cast members, even if only for a little while?

i would be lying if i said this was a thing i had never considered, at least a little. it was never a serious plan for the game, but as the story and the character dynamics beyond the main couples evolved there were definitely scenes where i looked at what i'd written and went "oh people are gonna ship this, huh." i definitely see it in my own writing, believe me

the main thing is just that i don't entirely know how i would go about writing poly relationships in a satisfying way. for one i've never been part of a poly relationship, so i can't write from my own experiences there. but also i feel my strongest writing tends to focus on pairs of characters (hence all the one-on-one scenes in slarpg), so it becomes trickier when, for example, a character has two partners. i'd worry about making one more important than the other in terms of narrative focus just because of how i write. i could easily see a version of events where certain characters start dating certain other characters on top of their canon partners, though. i just don't know if it's something that i'd ever really explore myself

i actually couldn't say if claire is on hormones. if she is it hasn't been for as long as melody (who's been on hrt for several years by the start of the game)

I noticed your game seems very deliberate on exactly how it approaches the topic of sex and suggestive content. Obviously it wanted to avoid being "horny furry bait game." But, it also avoided being aggressively chaste as well. It struck a careful balance, where it gives the impression that it's something characters do and think about, but isn't the focus of the story so it stays incidental. Was there ever much consideration on the exact tone in this regard? Or did you just do what felt like a good fit?

this was absolutely something i thought about a LOT. perhaps more than people realize!

i mean for one, yes, the problem of people assuming the game was just furry porn based on the title was always an issue. (not that there's anything wrong with furry porn games, this just isn't one.) the game's origins as a successor to an old fangame also presented an issue, because i was worried that people who knew about the old project but hadn't actually played it might, like, assume that it was extremely horny if i pushed things in slarpg too far? which could, in turn, color peoples' perception of slarpg. they're very distinct projects to me, but i'll never escape the reductive perception of them being Literally The Same Game

at the same time, i started work on the game at age 21 and finished it almost age 29, and in that period my feelings about what i wanted to make and also the attitudes in the wider queer community shifted a lot. there's been pushback against the idea that queer media always needs to be "wholesome" and "pure," with conflicting attitudes about the "wholesome games" marketing label in the indie scene mixing with very valid fears about puritanism growing in the queer community online - stuff like the perpetual "kink at pride" fearmongering. and i didn't want to be seen as being part of some push to erase the sex from sexuality or whatever. even beyond that, i've always kind of rankled at the "cute aesthetic = wholesome" thing. i worried about the idea that the game was "wholesome" and all fluff leading to people getting upset at the more intense parts of the story. and also, just, you know. the characters are all in their 20s. i think it would be weird if they didn't know what sex or alcohol or swear words or whatever were. i think they'd become less relatable and real if it was too sanitized

but of course the flipside is that it's a 16-bit jrpg throwback game and i was absolutely overthinking how much people expected adult themes to be touched upon, queer subject matter or no. i think i struck a good balance in the end where it's lightly acknowledged without disrupting the expected tone of the genre. i'm glad it's speaking to people

How seriously does Allison take caring for her sword(s)? As an unabashed ADHD sword lesbian myself I gotta say it's a not insignificant amount of (very fulfilling) work.

i think her natural inclination would be to be a little careless with them, but countless lectures from jodie have instilled a sense of responsibility in her when it comes to taking proper care of her weapons

I ask this with no weird intentions - characters like Melody and Jodie have no paw pads on their hands, but do they have them on their feet?

faith was always an overachiever and was basically training throughout her teens and early 20s to become guardian. when she put herself out there as a candidate she was already generally popular with the community for her skill with magic and her work ethic, so it wasn't hard for her to win the election in a small town like greenridge

Were there any plans during development for Allison or the other two to meet or confront Harmony in the Astral Plane? Or was she always just meant to be exclusive to Melody's character arc?

the entirety of what was planned for harmony is there in the game

is the city shown in the intro supposed to be brightport?

not necessarily! the identity of the city in the intro is unspecified, although brightport definitely looks something like that

Jodie’s theme from when she was gonna be a dog (apparently?) has a very different feel to it. Was her puppysona a very different character than the danger kitten? Or was her intro in the story simply different?

i was still just figuring out jodie as a character at the time - both her design AND her personality - so bee didn't have the most complete information to work off of when trying to write the fourth character theme

i think initially she was going to perhaps be somewhat more brash, being the one Actually Qualified Adventurer on the team who's surprised that her friends made it so far without her, and she would've been exasperated with claire's shenanigans instead of enabling them. she was also intended to be more of a foil to melody, seeming to be (from melody's perspective) the person everyone compares her to. which might be why i thought to make her a canid? this juxtaposition between the two is still an element in the game, but it's more subtle and i rarely draw direct attention to it. and she was intended to be much more bullheaded, with her arc revolving around her running off and picking a fight that really didn't need to be picked off-screen to set up a side quest that was completely cut

obviously a lot of this doesn't sound very much like jodie at all! she was the character i struggled to nail down the most. if she was too brash and critical of claire's decisions then she'd have way too much overlap with allison, so instead she became claire's best friend who's supportive and trusting to a fault, and who's also the most earnest and straightforward member of the team

hmmmm interesting and super hard to say. weirdly eliot or beckett are maybe my most anticipated.

i LOVE eliot’s trope and this is the first TRUE forbidden love story we will see from kbr (they have sort of claimed to have done it in the past but i think this is the most authentically polarized couple they have done. like yes raisy and marrow were sort of forbidden and so were all the bodyguards technically but eliot and winnifred are straight up ENEMIES their families will be RAGING and the DRAMA i will be living for it)

and beckett i’m really excited for because i love him but we dont get to see that much of him in other books. he is super private and busy and of course we should have seen him way more in sulli’s books but i’ve already ranted enough about that for a lifetime. i also love his initial set up with BOTH jo and leo and am happy kbr are writing another poly romance. i simply wasn’t invested in kitsuletti but i ship beckettjoleo (i know they have a better ship name that im simply too tired to remember rn) way more off the bat and since i liked sulli’s books more on the reread im hopeful im going to have a better reading experience this time. poly rep is super important but also way oversexualized so im super curious to see how they handle it and how ill like it this time around

next is probably ben. you may know but i used to be a harriet HATER until my recent reread of luna’s books and then i realized im just a miserable human and i gave her a makeover in my head bc kbr gave her a fugly style and now i recognize the queen that she is. super excited to see ben’s dynamics with his family firsthand and see how him bringing a girlfriend into the fold will go down

begrudgingly i will put charlie next. we all know i have a love hate relationship with this man but i can’t deny that makes me want to read his book so maybe i finally decide one way or the other. or maybe im just meant to have complicated feelings about this character forever idk. but i also know ill enjoy reading charlie and beckett’s twin bond, his dynamic with his parents, his relationship with ben, and whatever drama him and roxanne will cause with beckett (this plot line is a little confusing to me tbh but i want to see how it unfolds. like high key why does beckett even care i feel like the protectiveness they are setting up is baseless and will fizzle out quickly but im curious regardless)

audrey next because MY GIRL!! she shouldn’t be this low but in fairness we don’t even know WHO she will be with so there’s not much to anticipate 😭 but it does make me strongly wonder who her love interest will be and i love when hopeless romantic characters get their happily ever after bc im cheesy like that

sorry to tom i have no idea why im not invested in the threads kbr have been laying out for him but hopefully that will change. adore him as a character but his trope / storyline hasn’t hooked me so far and tbh i think phoenix is a bad name i wish the love interest was called something different LMAO

and as for the fic - nooooo i didn’t even know such a thing existed tbh. the last time i checked for addicted / like us fics years ago out of pure curiosity there were like 3 lol. truthfully i likely will never read any. i never ever read fic for a series or couple that is unreleased because it almost always ruins the reading experience for me / i have very little desire to and would much prefer to wait for the real thing. with kbr books in particular i have never felt the need to seek out fanfic because they write so much fan service already (this is usually a diss but i mean it as purely a compliment. they write SUCH entertaining scenes that you could only find in fanfic for any other fandom) and since i have their patreon that is so much bonus content i would never dream of needing more. their stuff is already perfectly written and has such high reread value that ive never felt the need to look for something extra that i felt was lacking from my reading experience

Gold x Ruby is a basic bad boy x Preppy guy but with a lot more of the prep complaining the bad boy needs to wash up a bit Also the prep being a admirer of romance so does romantic gestures often but soft ones compared to the forward actions of the bad boy (Think Ruby does hand kisses constantly) (And Gold does full out lip kisses sometimes it being one of the only ways to fluster Ruby)

Gold x Silver is the regular dynamic

Gold x Wally is another bad boy x prep but this time the prep is easy to fluster and they’re both lovers of cuddles and softness (If two of the couple are cuddling it’s likely these two given they both have touch as a love language) (also think of Gold as the kind of person who holds Wally’s hand in public if Ruby isn’t already)

Wally x Silver is different forms of trauma of Wally has medical and Silver has family also it’s prep x bad boy again (another detail I have a headcanon that Silver has IBD sooooo Wally probably is use enough to hospitals to help Silver through actually getting help)

I just want to say something:

I feel like I'm the only one that doesn't ship Google and Bing. I don't know if you ship it, but I just need to rant to someone who knows the characters I'm talking about.

I always saw it as a sibling relationship: Bing is the annoying younger brother, always annoying Google with his skateboard and pop culture references, while Google is the older sibling who's always like "stop. Please. Just stop. I am trying to do work." Never really found any fanfics with them having a sibling relationship, and it's really frustrating.

So I'm a bitch of a million AUs, but I'm kind of all over the place.

I have one where they're basically cousins and Bing is our ace/aro king. I have another where they're in a polycule with a couple of my mutuals' OCs. And yet another where the four colors of the Googles are blood brothers and Bing is more or less adopted. And those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

I'm kind of indifferent to it. They're adult fictional characters and as long as no one is rude or weird about shit, I don't really care. Let people have what they enjoy. You're not wrong for seeing them as siblings and they're not wrong for shipping them.

Mark and Sean's egos have this interesting grey area where people can make them siblings or ship them. And I don't think either is more correct. I do both. So unless either of them come out and are like "oh yeah x and y are related" I'm gonna continue to dabble in both. There isn't an ego ship out there that'd I'd die on a hill for.

Honestly most of the time my poly ass sees a ship and goes "do they need a third".

After many years of writing (and not publishing much) fanfics and reading a plethora of them, finally decided to post them here.

I did want to focus on one shots, but some of the stuff I wrote ended up having a potential of expansion, even though the whole primary reason was to write a juicy fic!

Then I realized I ended up with at least 10k word background to what was supposed to be a "juicy one shot".

My List of things and Plots that I Would Like to See In BL

FIRST: Rapid Fire Specific Drama Edition:

Big Dragon S2: I need it, I need it now and I need at least one kinky scene with MossBank because I have not forgotten about the lack of kinky sex in s1. I know it's going to focus on a new couple but I need at least one sexy kinky time with them please and thank you.

I need Minato Coin Laundry s2 not to break them up, or have stupid cheating plots. (The bar is in hell)

I need both Domundi (The Next Prince, Naughty Babe, Love Upon a Time, Middleman) and Taiwan (I forgot the names of announced shows but it's in my blog somewhere) Line Ups to come to me and I need it now. Especially Taiwan.

I need Make A Wish to be more available, I could only find it with Italian Subs, I didn't watch it yet, but the ending seems to be hinting at a season 2 and at the possiblity of a poly ending (or at least a love triangle) so I need other people to be able to watch it as well.

The HIstory franchise needs to get its shit together and start producing more and better shows. Like for all of it's fault I did like History 4 and History 5 was fine. But I need more, I need them to do 2 shows again, I don't want them to "fine" I want them to go all out. Go Crazy. Just don't kill gays again.

VAMPIRES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just give me vampires, maybe even some werewolves. I need it, I know that we have Mafia BLs but I want Vampire BL god damn it!!!! The main four actors of Cutie Pie would be great a Vampire-Werewolf BL. And I know Fluke Natouch would be great as a Vampire as well (he was in 2015 movie playing a human to vampire co-lead). I also think Earth Cooheart would be great as a Vampire. And MossBank, they would be great in a werewolves pair.

Speaking of Fluke Natouch and Earth Cooheart I need both of them to get more adult and darker roles. I need Cooheart to be allowed to be a little sexy, and I know Fluke would do a darker powerful role justice, I want him to be in a role where he bringes "bigger" man to their knees. I want to see him covered in blood (I say this with love)

POLYCULE with the main four actors of Cutie Pie. This is entairly @respectthepetty's fault. I saw the MaxZee posts on her blog and and It send me down a rabbit hole. By the way did you know there are no true polycule fanfic of the four of them, there is something, but not true polycule and never with Lian and Yi as a pair. Truly no one knows these characters they way @respectthepetty knows them.

Also @respectthepetty's fault for putting this in my head: Domundi Line Up Mash Up. Bad Friend and Middleman Ship meet Cutie Pie and Naughty Babe's ships. In one big BL. The idea is now in my head and it's glorious. Let's Do It!!

Choco Milk Shake Thair Remake but Poly this time. Not sure what trio could do this, but I need it.

LET GUN KISS SOMEONE WHO IS NOT OFF. Listen I realize that OffGun are probably GMMTV best pair branding, and I know that both Off and Gun are going to bank on this pair and be settled for life. I don't even need Gun to be in an endgame ship with another actor, I just need him to kiss another male actor. Not Me would have been the best scenario because of the twins situation. But they didn't go there, and I will never forgive them for that.

Related to Number 5, I had this idea for a plot with an OffGun endgame ship, that started with Gun's character being in a relationship with Sing (because I am still mad about ToddBlack - Listen they have baited us twice with GunSing kiss I need this now) who cheats on him and Gun has to move out and finds an appartmant with Off's character and maybe another roomate played by Tay because I love the Tay/Off dynamic. We would get scenes with Gun and Sing together, showings us flashbacks and stuff but also an OffGun endgame. WIN WIN!!

I need more shows with parents that are in the murky gray area between full acceptance and abusive, I need them not to change their mind at the end and I need a realistic exploration of what it means for a queer person to have parents in that gray area, I want them to question if it's worth it to have to be one that is keeping that realtionship alive. I am also loving the trend of dramas dealing with homophobia and I need to see more of it. I don't want it in all my BLs far from it, but I do like when BL goes there.

More disable characters in BL, preferably by disable actor's but this is a streach so, I just need more disability in BL.

And more actually fat characters, not like Jao in SCOY (which I Love, but calling him fat, felt like a bit of a strech)

And Obviously more GLs and more masc women in GL

I agree with you that the "making the girl who is rival to the mlm couple a lesbian" is a lot better than turning her into a sexist caricature but tbh it will always be somewhat funny to me that??? They sometimes don't even need to?? Like, when they have her in a wlw relationship on top of just being a lesbian. At that point, just have her be bisexual and in a relationship with a woman after her relationship with whatever guy you're pushing her away from didn't work. I'm like, not mad about it in any case, just somewhat baffled when they usually put the lesbian in a wlw relationship *anyways* (vs like having the lesbian be single but not a threat because she's gay). I do think "lesbian with comphet" is a valid headcanon though, so I'm definitely not *mad* lol. It just kind of feels like some of these fanfics believe that the wlw has to be specifically a *lesbian*, which sometimes makes me feel like they only have this attitude because of the stereotype of bisexuals being poly/a threat (as in a threat to the mlm couple they're pushing) even when they are in a committed, monogamous relationship. (To clarify nothing wrong with poly bisexuals, just that there's a stereotype about them!)

Though honestly, I don't think anything will ever top the time I read a fanfic where the author made a canon bisexual *straight* because she had to reject a girl and she couldn't have... I don't know... rejected her on the basis that she just wasn't interested in this *specific* girl, or on the basis that she was already/more interesting in the man of the m/f couple the fic had tagged for her? Bizarre behavior. Sometimes it just feels like it's rooted in biphobia is all, I suppose, which does somewhat annoy me. But yeah, it's still better than the raging misogyny you used to get (and still do sometimes! Some people hate Chiaki and Kaede because they get in the way of komahina and saiouma! It can get really annoying when I'm reading a fic with those ships and it piviots into hating on Kaede and Chiaki, like leave my girls alone!!!).

YEAH tbh i think the idea of ~one true love~ is a real disservice in fanfic because it means that instead of "yeah these two dated once but broke up, and they're both bisexual" the author feels obligated to be like no they CANT have been in a relationhip because all relationships before the main pairing must PALE IN COMPARISON. there can be no previous romantic relationships which had a strong effect on them as a person. because that wasnt ~true love~!

and so a lot of times you get this sort of incidental biphobia where its not so much that these characters Have To Be Gay/Straight, but that they Have To Have Only Ever For Real Been Interested In This One Person, which necessitates only being attracted to the one person. which, uh...sucks. this was something that got talked about a lot in the early spn days, actually, with people reducing the presence of what few women spn had and making dean gay. that luckily faded out over time, but it's still (imo) a really common thing to see in the m/m parts of fic In Addition To the "how to get the woman out of the equation" aspect.

and its also about the reduction of platonic relationships!! because surely if they arent both gay a strong relationship between a boy and a girl must be Romance TM. its the old classic Boys And Girls Cant Be Just Friends tired trope but through the lens of Progressivism TM.

anyway tldr youre absolutely right, sometimes the girls are bi!! sometimes the girls dating one of the guys is comphet but sometimes it isnt!! and despite many issues its still leagues better than a decade ago

What fandoms do you write for? i used to write for the Hermitcraft fandom, but i've discontinued the one fic i started for it and moved on to The Magnus Archives. i've got a couple story ideas for other fandoms, but idk if they'll go anywhere.

What are your top five fics by kudos? well, i've only got four! but from most- to least-kudosed, there's: - Double Trouble (Hermitcraft, rated G, incomplete multichapter) - Know What Can't Be Shown, Feel What Can't Be Known (TMA, rated T, oneshot) - Time Enough to Spend Some Time Alone (TMA, rated T, oneshot) - Here, Nowhere, Somewhere With You (TMA, rated G, oneshot) and i'm totally not salty my two most kudosed fics are an incomplete work and something i posted at 3am, respectively.

Do you respond to comments? hell yeah! i love answering comments <3

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? gotta say Time Enough, bc it's more refined than its predecessor, Know What Can't Be Shown (man i really need to stop giving my fics such long titles, i always end up shortening them when referring to them). but for reference, both are pre-Unknowing jmart kiss fics; it's a favored headcanon of mine. Time Enough also spends more time musing on how Jon and Martin are feeling—that is, they feel Bad. Absolutely Terrible. sad and scared, both for the Unknowing and for each other.

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Here, Nowhere, Somewhere, absolutely. the ending itself is pretty open, but Jon and Martin have reunited post-MAG 200, admitted they still love each other after its events, and found themselves Somewhere Else. it's the most hopeful.

Do you get hate on fics? not yet, thankfully. i'm not a well-known enough author for that lol.

Do you write smut? If so, what kind? i do not! and i doubt i ever will. props to everyone who does, though.

Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? i don't really write crossovers, at least none i ever planned to publish, but i do have a couple fusion AUs in the works (that is, taking one story's premise and combining it w/the characters of another). and funnily enough, both are based on songs.

Have you ever had a fic stolen? i sure hope not.

Have you ever had a fic translated? no. though if someone offered to, i'd be honored!

Have you ever co-written a fic before? technically? a friend of mine and i made a couple AUs for a few different MCYT fandoms that never really went anywhere, but i've never co-authored something that's made it to publishing.

What's your all time favorite ship? probably jonmartin. i've read a ridiculous amount of fanfic for them, and i think pretty much all my WIPs feature it if both Jon and Martin are there (sometimes i'll make them queerplatonic, and sometimes they'll be part of a poly ship like jongerrymartin, but jmart tends to be pretty Do Not Separate in my mind lmao).

What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? ages ago i was reading this one rom-com webcomic where two people wound up as roommates bc the landlord accidentally rented the single apartment to both of them, which i thought was a really cute premise, but then BAM there was some really awful transphobia in it. when called out in the comments, the author doubled down, so i snatched up the concept and decided "i'm gonna make this t4t out of SPITE." but uh i've found spite doesn't work very well as a fuel source for my work, and i can get the same awkward domesticity/mutual pining out of a safehouse fic, so it'll probably just stay buried in the WIPs folder.

What are your writing strengths? dialogue. or at least, making a character's dialogue sound like their voice. vocabulary, things like stammering or using filler words, cutting oneself off or pausing a bunch, that sort of thing. though sometimes the dialogue itself feels a little clunky. i also think i'm rather good at writing emotional scenes, especially once i'm in the editing stage of things.

What are your writing weaknesses? over-editing. my utter beloathed. i sometimes get really caught up in trying to make everything as clear as possible, when that just makes the work 5,000 words too long and takes way more time to do. i'm trying to be better about it.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? i think it's neat! but if you're monolingual you should read up on writing bilingual/multilingual characters beforehand, don't just wing it.

First fandom you wrote for? probably Pokémon? i'm not entirely sure.

Favorite fic you've written? Time Enough, hands-down. (though uh, hypothetically, if i wanted to make some small edits to it, would it be weird to do so? especially seven months after posting? there's a handful of lines i wish i'd phrased a bit differently.)
