It’s true; when you met him in high school, you couldn’t stand him at first because of his attitude. The teacher assigned you both a group project and you both were thinking the same thing about each other: ‘they’re going to try to make me do all the work’

He didn’t like you, either, because you made him feel things other than irritation and self-doubt. That scared him.

Tsukki also had problems with trusting people due to his issues with his self-esteem and self-confidence. When you started showing interest in him, he just assumed that you were ‘trolling’ him. So, surprise surprise, when you told him that you liked him, he didn’t believe you.

After a while, once he saw that he wasn't getting rid of you anytime soon, he began to believe in the idea of someone genuinely loving him in a romantic sense.

You were the first to make the confession, to which he smirked cockily and put a hand atop your head.

"I love you, too, shrimp."

❥⋱M - Marry: How does he feel about marriage?

He wants to get married, but doesn’t feel like he’ll be good husband material; it’s difficult for him to express his emotions, okay? Tsukki knows that he loves you and you love him, but despite his aloof demeanor, he feels an immense feeling of insecurity when it comes to his love life. 

He feels that honestly you could probably do better than him, but after a while of dating you and spending nearly every waking moment together when he’s not studying or at volleyball practice, he begins to really see just how much you truly care for him.

Which is why after he scored the winning point for his end-season game as middle blocker for the Sendai Frogs, he bent down on one knee right there in the middle of the court. Everyone was already watching him anyway, so why not?

He debated waiting until after you both graduated college to ask you to marry him, but he figured why wait when you’ve remained by his side, supporting him and encouraging him for all of high school and then the majority of your college years?

You could hear his friends, teammates, mother, and especially his older brother, Akiteru, in the background cheering:

“That’s my little brother! The tall one, with the glasses! My little brother is getting married!”

He would never admit this to anyone in his life, but sometimes he is a little afraid of you. And this began to disturb his mind from the day you met.

It was break time, and Tsukishima was walking the halls alone, since his best friend hadn't gone due to being sick. He was walking aimlessly until he stopped when he heard an argument in a remote location, away from the many students who walked around the school. Tsukishima always gossiped with Yamaguchi about things that happened around school, so he saw this as an opportunity to see what was going on.

That's when he saw three boys surrounding you, who he didn't know yet, to the nearest wall, causing you to be cornered.

"Do you really think you can talk to us like that? You will now learn to keep your mouth shut...!" the supposed leader of the trio spoke angrily, advancing towards you.

It may not seem like it due to his salty personality, but Tsukishima would try to intervene the fight (since he had no one else to do it for him). But just as he was about to do it, you advances towards the guy and perfectly land a kick directly in his face.

The delinquent falls backwards, being stunned by the powerful kick. One of his friends squats down to try to wake the boy up. "Y-You are crazy!?! Look what you did with him!!"

You slowly approach the boys, who cower in fear. "Ah yes... you guys came to pick a fight with me out of nowhere, threatening to beat me... and I'm the crazy one?" you say in an intimidating tone, which made the delinquents pick up their passed out friend and run away from you, passing Tsukishima who was a bit shocked by your actions.

"You don't want to leave either? Or do you want to stay to see more?” You say when you notice that the blonde was also there.

He stared at you silently, with an unreadable expression, and you stared back. Until he turns and leaves without saying a word, leaving you there alone.

The truth is that he left because he thought you were going to hit him too...

But something inside him kept him from thinking about you, someone he didn't even know well, So why was he strangely captivated by you?

And there was a day when the crazy volleyball duo was begging Tsukishima all day to teach them a part of English that they didn't understand, since Yachi hadn't gone to school that day. And that's how he found out that you were in the same class as Kageyama.

After that day, you coincidentally started meeting in the hallways during break time, and at some point this resulted in a conversation between the two of you, and that this conversation resulted in an exchange of numbers, which resulted in you becoming closer... until you entered into a relationship with him.

The truth is that Tsukishima thinks you're really cool.

Even in the most discreet way of all, he will somehow throw it in other people's faces about what a good fighter you are and stuff like that as a way to provoke others, especially to a certain second-year duo (who are definitely not jealous of him getting a partner sooner than they did)

"Don't wait for me to go to the convenience store, I have to pick up [Name] from their taekwondo training..." "You wouldn't win in a fight even against a fly, so why challenge [Name] in a fight?" If you were nearby at those moments, you can be sure that you would see Tanaka and Nishinoya burning with anger at the blonde's provocations.

He would go to all your championships to cheer for you, even if it was in his silent and discreet way, he would always be there to watch you and internally root for you.

Akiteru has already offered and begged a million times to come cheer for you with Kei, and he always refuses with a grumpy expression on his face, but eventually he ends up giving in and letting his brother accompany him to your championships.

And please don't ever ask him to be your "improvised punching bag" again (it was basically him with several pillows tied around his body) if you want to train at home, he was sore for a whole day from the kicks that you promised wouldn't be so strong...

Kei Tsukishima.. the name of your friend .. best friend? You weren’t sure what your relationship with him really was. All you knew was that the two of you were really close and nothing could get between you two.

Everyone always gave the two of you a confused look, and you knew why. Tsukishima was notorious for his bitchy personality and always making unnecessary comments. That always had your mind racing, though.

What is so different about me?

The question kept circling around your head every moment of the day. While you were eating breakfast, lunch, dinner.. volleyball practice, at the beach, even before you go to bed. Sometimes the question pops up in your dreams.

On a hot Summer day, Tsukki invites you to the beach, which, why would you ever say no to? Of course you accepted, and once you got all of your swim attire on and packed, you met with him in his car.

“Hey y/n, I’m glad you actually decided to come.” Kei chuckled, looking at you and then straight at the road. “Are you all ready?” He asked, looking at you from the corner of his eye and watching as you slowly nodded your head. He instantly noticed something was wrong with you. You would’ve been more enthusiastic with your answer, a simple head nod is completely unlike you.

His smile slowly faded when you just gave that nod. He began to drive and decided to roll the windows down, but all of a sudden the sound of his wheels dragging against the street started to bother him. Same with the loud wind. You would always be talking to him, whether it’d be your ranting about one of the worst girls in your volleyball team or about Hinata and Kageyama bugging you to help them practice.

“What’s wrong?” He asked, the tone of his voice making your perk up and gulp, you could feel a shiver sent down your spine. You wouldn’t be so scared, but you were so used to the silence that your heart began to race as soon as he opened up his mouth.

“Tsukki..” you paused for a long time which made him worry. “What?” He asked. “What is it? Did someone say something before you left?”

You shook your head. “No, it’s not that.. how come you’re so nice to me? Everyone is always coming up to me and saying that they’re surprised that you’re never snapping at me, ‘cause sometimes you even snap at Yamaguchi.”

Tsukishima stayed quiet, a bit of blush appearing on his face. The two of you finally arrived at the beach, and he parked right before opening his mouth again.

“Y/N..” He said, turning his head to you. “I think everything about you is great. You’re really funny, smart, and beautiful. Like, really really beautiful. Not only that but you’re not annoying like some other of my teammates over at Karasuno.”

You could feel your heart thumping again.

So hard that you can feel it in your ears.

“I really like you, y/n.” Tsukki said, gulping. You can see his bandaged hands trembling a bit, waiting for a response.

“I like you too, Tsukki.” you said, giggling as you held his face and planted a kiss on his lips.

-> [ Board game dates or escape room dates seem fun to him. ] Escape rooms are a bit of a novelty to him - he’s well aware of what they are, but he hasn’t really had the opportunity to go to one himself. He’s observant and good at figuring out puzzles, but chances are he’s going to hang back and watch you struggle for a while before stepping in and offering his help, acting all chivalrous like he’s doing you a favor. As for board games, sometimes he complains about trying to keep all the rules straight, but he’s definitely fun to play with. He’s a good balance of competitive and chill, being able to keep you on your toes but also not making the session super intense or stressful.

And, to be fair, he would be totally curious as to how someone as sweet as you could have ever landed someone like Tsukishima. So when he found out that his cute and precious girlfriend was friends with you, then he just jumped at the opportunity to meet you even more. And well, the best way to do that would be to do a double date instead of any of the terrible and awkward ways he thought of.

It would be such a big event too, like going to an amusement park or something along those lines. Cause he's just so excited to meet you and is just a big ball of energy.

And Tsukishima just puts up with it all with a tired sigh the whole night, but every time he looks at you he always gives you a soft smile and gives you hand a reassuring squeeze, just to let you know that he is having fun and is happy to be there with you.

And.... he kinds of goes overboard trying to beat Bokuto at all the stall games; his competitive nature coming forth. So expect to go home with a whole bunch of goodies and stuffed prizes.
