The amount of minors currently in the tags I go through for my queue is... concerning. The amount of times I've went to check a blog and they're either explicitly a minor or have no age listed is too many times. I might take a break from this blog all together for a little while just because I'm tired of having to sort through it all.
#Talking to the River#I'll usually pick through the btd and tpof tags for posts to reblog#but it's getting really messy and I'm honestly not a fan#I still have some posts in my queue running but I might leave it alone for a while and wait for these blogs to dissapear#remember to block minors from your blog if you see them interacting with your posts within this fandom#if you're using a sideblog you can go on a desktop and block them from that blogs notes tab. otherwise you're only blocking them on-#-your main account. (literally how I named the image, couldn't think of something else)
Hi guys :') To my followers and tumblr friends, I'm really sorry if my sudden disappearance scared or upset you. It wasn't quite... planned. And today was a busy day and I needed some time to consider what I wanted to do.
Short version of the story:
My tumblr account got terminated for copyright infringement. A certain Mr. Green got me in unlucky trouble (ref 1, 2).
I won't get it back, or try to get it back. It's gone.
Needed a moment to consider 2 options: ask Mia to extend my dramatic farewell letter and stay gone, or make a new blog.
Not planning to post new writing here. I won't be using words like 'never' or 'forever' because I'm a known clown with things like this, but the intention is to no longer post fics. I will finish Tickletober on AO3 and then take a break from writing. So yes, I cancel the swiftscribbles event too, sorry!
When I opened my laptop, I could see my old blog in its final hour lmao (I found out about the loss on my phone). So that's what the snap is from on a fitting grave. It was fun while it lasted!
Long version of the story:
Losing my blog(s): My Tumblr account with main blog + sideblogs got terminated overnight, it was quite the surprise! I've either been reported or tracked by bots. The posts are a bunch of numbered URLs I can't open, but the message is clear: for including anime content, genshin impact or media from other sources (whether it's videos, screenshots, official art, gifs or even fanwork) you technically can get a strike. Upon googling the claimer I quickly found this first, and knew it was a lost cause. Although it feels shitty and unlucky, I am in no place to appeal. It's like when I used to make AMVs in the past, you never knew whether a song or even anime footage was going to give your YT account a copyright strike or even a ban, it was a gamble. I have lost YT accounts before, and now I lost the Tumblr one. With 7+ years of tickle trash content and a bunch of sideblogs. But oh well, moving on!
Starting a new blog: It was a serious consideration whether this was my ultimate chance to do what I've always said I wanted to do eventually - quit my blog. My first thought was to ask Mia to share my explanation and literal goodbye with you guys, and stick to my chaos of a Twitter account to indulge in fandom stuff. But then I thought of how happy Tumblr made me, even without the fic writing, but just.. reblogging things, getting random asks, shouting about life and of course, about tickles. I decided to make a new blog after all, but also decided the following:
The 7K+ milestone swiftscribbles event is cancelled, for which I apologize! The follower milestone, together with the motivation to write the fics, and even the asks with the requests I got, all died with my former blog.
I will see how long I can survive without posting a new fic or drabble. A loose headcanon or two might fly around sometime. And if necessary, a link to a new fic on AO3.
Tickletober? Hell yes I'll finish it, I would cringe in bed for 49 days at least if I would stop. I just won't post the fics here, but on AO3.
Reposting/reblogging my old works? Undecided at the moment but I'm tired and lazy. I don't feel too upset since most of my fics are still on AO3 at least and not completely gone.
Anyways, I'll see what happens and how long I can enjoy this nerfed version of blogging.
Surprisingly I'm not upset about losing my other blog, there were a lot of memories but it was also very cringe. I'm gonna be just as cringe here, but at least I feel cleansed.
For those who choose to follow me again, thank you, but please know that there won't be much original content coming from me, for now!:)

The ultimate shadow ban survivor guide
I've seen multiple people I follow, or their mutuals affected by shadow bans lately (makes me wonder if it's @staff's attempts to fight bots going totally haywire). As someone who survived a 2-month-long shadow ban on my main this winter, I thought I'd make a post.
First step of being shadow banned: calm down and take a breath. A shadow ban is just a stupid glitch in tumblr's anti-spam system. You're not losing your blog. You're gonna need a whole lot of patience, and deal with inconveniences, but it's fixable.
Read the incredibly useful post All About Shadowban by @that-damn-girl. It outlines the symptoms quite well. The only thing I'd point out is "your original posts won’t be visible to your followers either" - afaik that doesn't happen. Everything you post and reblog will still be visible to your followers, and also they can interact with your posts - like them, reblog them, reply to them.
Just like the post says, contact support. I recommend using a different email than what your banned blog is registered to; not because your ticket won't go through (mine actually did, as I found out when they finally replied), but because you might not receive an email confirmation for your ticket (it's somehow tied to the anti-spam thing, I think), and you're going to worry and try to send more tickets, like I did.
Now wait. And wait, and wait, and wait. They are SLOW. I've seen some miraculous 1-day unbans in the #shadow ban tag, but most people, like me, wait around a month for support to reply. Those are the same guys going through thousands of bot reports every day in addition to user tickets.
If you're going to wait, might as well keep blogging. Now if this is your sideblog that's shadow banned, consider yourself lucky. Make a new temporary sideblog, use it to post your original stuff so it goes into tags (mind that it might take a few days for a new blog to start showing up in tags). Reblog everything to your shadow banned blog so you still have all content in one place and your followers see it. If it's your main that's banned, you can still do that, but there's the extra pain of not being able to reply to posts or send non-anon Asks, since that is only done from main. Might need to register a separate account for that.
Some more fun facts under readmore.
Fun fact #1
Trying to send support follow-up emails in the request confirmation email isn't going to do anything to speed up the process. But I did tweet at them using this tumblr support summoning picture by @cornmayor and offered a raccoon blood sacrifice to resolve my issue when it was like a month with no response. This is what they replied.
3 hours later I got an email that my shadowban was lifted. I honestly don't know if it was a coincidence, but I mean, this is tumblr staff. Maybe they do accept blood sacrifices.
Fun fact #2
If you're wondering why my shadow ban lasted 2 months if I got a support reply after 1 month, well. It's hard to say exactly how their ban/unban system works bc support replies exclusively with pre-written template sentences, but basically they fucked up. The first time they told me my blog has been restored, I gained pretty much all functions back, except that my posts were still not appearing in tags. Which means probably that being hidden from tags is some kind of different flag on your blog that they forgot to remove. So I had to send a follow-up ticket and wait another month.
My advice is, when they tell you it's fixed, don't take that at face value, go and check all the functions you'd lost (replies, messaging, asks, tagging, appearing in notes, getting mentioned by others).

That post about how new users who only like things are ruining this site really sucks to read as someone who has been a lurker since 2011 (technically 2010, but I didn't make my account until 2011). Like, I understand the intention of emphasizing reblogs, but the way that it's phrased, and the OP in the notes instructing people to just make a sideblog if the stuff you like doesn't fit with your main blog theme, and the attitude of reblogging should be the default for everyone for every post they like, all of that make me feel pretty unwelcome. My extreme social anxiety means that I physically struggle to Post and Reblog, and it doesn't seem like the OP understands that can be a barrier. They were pretty unempathetic to at least one fellow long time lurker, saying you can still be a lurker even if you reblog things, kinda treating it almost like a personal rule they don't want to break rather than a different way of interacting with the site. The post was aimed at people who don't know likes don't function the same as on other sites, but the actual argument didn't make any room for people who use tumblr in a different way deliberately and aren't trying to make an algorithm feed happen either. Anyway, anon asks are my main form of social engament on here due to the anxiety. Sorry for word vomiting in your ask box.
I had a knee-jerk instinct to be very unkind about this, because you chose to send this to a creative worker whose income is dependent on social media. (I wish it wasn't, but we just don't live in a world where even Big Artists can just get away with not being their own advertisement team.) I am trying hard to fight that urge because I do understand social anxiety as someone who struggles with agoraphobia. But please think about why you sent me this.
Why do you need me, who can't put food on the table because of the impossibility of getting people to do even the most low-effort Engagements With Content, to comfort you about being too anxious to reblog people's work? Like, I'm not here to absolve you of your guilt, that's between you and yourself and maybe a therapist (not said to be mean, just like the literal person for it). I'm not gonna sit here like "oh no, it's fine, I never feel bad at ALL when stuff I put months of effort into get 0-5 notes, month after month."
It's not your job to promote my stuff, or anyone, but I think seeing artists and the like complain about their struggles vis-a-vis Getting People To Share Content, which is a NIGHTMARE now compared to ten years ago (so you can at least take comfort in it not really being your problem since your behavior has remained unchanged for like 15 years) is going to probably be the price of admission for wordlessly consuming that stuff. You can choose not to feel bad about it; indeed, I invite you to consider the nuance and decide that it's not about you (you even say you know it's directed at other people). I think it'd be a lot healthier for you, personally, to just be able to say "okay, well, that's your opinion and I disagree" without coming into a struggling artist's inbox for some kind of absolution.

˚☽˚。⋆𓃦 ˚☽˚。⋆A Trans WereWolf In London˚☽˚。⋆𓃦 ˚☽˚。⋆ ˚☽˚。⋆𓃦 ˚☽˚。⋆Intro post˚☽˚。⋆𓃦 ˚☽˚。⋆ Hello there! I'm A trans Werewolf in London and you can refer to me as either Charlie or Dan (Reasonings in a sec) and this is My sideblog to posting things Canine related! Lets get started on what you all need to know about me then :3
⋆˚🐾˖°⋆˚🐾˖°⋆˚🐾˖°Key Information⋆˚🐾˖°⋆˚🐾˖°⋆˚🐾˖° -my name is Charlie/Dan, If you know me personally or follow this blog from Therian Guide I heavily advise you use these names going forward. I prefer to use these names to keep myself Anonymous from those who could know me, as I know that they are Tumblr. - I have to admit, both of these names have different Origins for me: Charlie is purely because of the Character from heartstopper, Its a piece of fiction I actively like. I chose Dan for my other name as it is the name for my werewolf oc (He's also technically alterhuman). I'm planning on doing some writing exercises on my writing account @seraphimsrevenge using him to create body horror through physical transformation.
-I use He/They/It/Xe pronouns, but if thats too difficult He/Him will do well enough on me. I am Currently reworking on a pronouns page so that I can delve into specifics but thats not done yet. -I should note that I am 16, so if you have minors DNI in your bio you shouldnt really be following me (This has happened before somehow) -Another thing I should note, is that I am autistic and have suspected ADHD and Dyslexia, I'm sometimes not good with English so I hope that you can bear with me as I struggle to spell. I should also note again that I'd prefer it if people were to use Tone Indicators around me the next section is going to be focusing on my identity as an Alterhuman.
𓃦𓃦𓃦𓃦𓃦𓃦𓃦𓃦𓃦𓃦My Alterhuman Identity𓃦𓃦𓃦𓃦𓃦𓃦𓃦𓃦𓃦 Like I have stated I am part of the Alterhuman community, I personally believe that I am a therian. I awakened around early April (if I remember correctly) during a bad spot in my life, this bad spot I hence believe led to my awakening as a way to potentially have some calm in my life in a way. Around this time I would begin to experience multiple dream shifts, At first I saw a figure that I thought was a Labrador, but I have my doubts now, the figure is now more canine like and as much as I do want to find the specific species, I am content with just being a Canine. The only features I can remember exactly is the black fur, and pointed ears and a tail. I also had begun to get phantom shifts, I began to feel more canine like, feeling those typical ears and tail, I could feel their movement and believed it was so real that I could feel them. I couldn't, and that is a thing that still makes me upset. There are times during these shifts that it gets so bad that I try to touch them, or am scared someone would see. But obviously they are not there. I would say Phantom shifts are some of my most common shifts. Although Since I am coming out of a period of deep repression of my identity I am unsure. I have also had mental shifts, these normally take a toll on me however, but I do feel more free in my more Canine mindset, I feel myself. these tend to flair up in areas of stress, but can also happen by themselves, so it is my most recent shift after embracing my identity again. There are sometimes I believe I had another life, I was a canine, yet everything is still blurry. However I think the main reason for my therianthropy is because of the fact I had a dog a child. I practically grew up with up her and learnt her ways, I felt so connected to her in a way that transcended a normal pet, I could relate to her, like I could see life through her eyes. So that is why I think I am a therian. Now lets get into the final Part of this introduction! What Tags I'll use and the content they will be used for!
𐂯🐾🐾𐂯🐺𐂯🐾My posts/Tags🐾𐂯🐺𐂯🐾🐾𐂯 #BarkNoBite🐾 = my tag I will Always use #MorningBarks🐾 = If I remember to do so I will whish you all a good morning with a canine image #SleepyWhines🐾 = If I remember before I fall asleep I will whish you all goodnight #CanineInLondon🐾 = A tag relating to my shifts #DansCanineMemories🐾 = If I ever get more info on this past life that I have felt and seen in my dreams then I will use this tag #DansCanineTheories🐾 = My tag of my Therianthropy experiences, all to my origins to my own theories of therianthropy #RunningWithTheWolves🐾 = dedicated to me posting about being a canine, typically sh!tposts about it #MascBites🐾 = Normally content focusing my Masculinity with my Canine self --> Technically can be seen as forcemasc content depending on the severity but it will be SFW.
🐾Closing thoughts🐾 Thank you if you were brave enough to read all of this, But even if you skim read this I hope you appreciate. Have a nice day and See you until I post again :3

I've often wondered if, by hiding my otherkin identity, I've made people uncomfortable. I specifically remember one blog (otherkinwords) where the creator asked people who Aren't Otherkin to Please Stop Reblogging their Posts, and eventually hid the blog because people still did that.
But I wonder how many people who reblogged from it were, in fact, otherkin? Were any others in the kin closet because of the harassment and cyberbullying that abounded here ten years ago? How many may have been questioning? How did they know if someone was otherkin or not?
Before I started this blog, my Main Personal didn't exactly Advertise that I was otherkin, though I'd shared experiences and reblogged posts on the topic. It wasn't in my bio; it wasn't something I delved into unless I Really Wanted to Remember a Specific Event. But I AM otherkin. I've known that since I was 20 or 21. A full decade of my life! I just didn't advertise it.
I wonder if they knew that?
And yes, sure. I shared their posts to my RP blogs. But my RP characters are a sort of one-way soulbond, synpath adjacent. It's hard to explain, but they're in a sort of "system" for me I haven't seen a word for. They're not "headmates"; we don't interact. They interact with each other and their world is in my head, but I don't control them and I can see through their eyes for the sake of narrating their lives, but they can't see through mine. They don't front, except maybe Srentha can "blend" with me sometimes but that's Complicated^tm.
(Except the Po|kemon breeder; that's an actual kintype.)
But again, I didn't advertise it. Even on my main blog for this account, which happens to be a roleplay blog, I list several of my sideblogs, but I don't list this one and I don't list that I'm otherkin.
Who is anyone, really, to assume they can tell just by browsing a page of a blog's contents and a lack of identifier in a bio, whether ANYONE is otherkin or not? We're not a monolith. We're not ALL out and proud about it. How can you "tell" just by looking at them if the people interacting with your posts are otherkin or not?
I don't know. I miss that blog. I'm not mad about it, but I do wonder how anyone can be so presumptuous as to assume they Know^tm.
#I have the same problem with gen Z calling people ''eggs'' for not conforming to societal genders but that's another rant entirely.#rwt personal posts

hi 😁 yeah i’m still here lol when i made my original post and all the drama/crit blogs were being silly in my tags i checked out yalls blogs and got hooked… y’all are just having so much fun i had to stick around. plus tommyinnit dream v quackity happened immediately the next day and then drunk mcc the day after… i couldn’t just leave in the middle of the party
i ask about rpf in this fandom bc this fandoms take on it and so many other things is so new to fandom culture… i’ve been lurking main tags for a couple months to see how it works and the rules/ethics codes are so strange and new… i’m a my chemical romance blog lol mcr has a very long history of rpf and we do have internal debates about it, but that wasn’t until within the past few years and even then the general consensus is they’re 40 yo rock stars that are likely never gonna see it and even if they do, they can look at their bank accounts and feel better. it’s only really bm if you’re sending it to them/@ing them on twitter. which is pretty much the consensus that i feel like most real people fandoms have always stuck to throughout online history and dsmp are the odd ones out. it’s definitely because the fandom is/was primarily on twitter right there with the ccs, of course the boundaries are gonna get redefined when you’re directly interacting with the ccs with your acc name set to ‘T4T AUTISTIC BEEDUO MY BELOVED ✨ hannah :3’. plus these ccs can NOT learn their lesson and keep their noses out of their indirects. don’t lurk in your own fandom literally #1 rule of being famous don’t google yourself
i’ve read enneamages post about it and that’s part of how i ended up among the crit blogs 🤪 the first time i saw mcyt tickle in main tags i immediately went ‘yeah, that’s what happens when you try to police sexuality’, same with poppy and the creepy sbi stuff. idk y’all say y’all are the crazy ones and that’s def true, but from all of the time i’ve spent in MAIN tags and seeing the ‘normal’ fans? y’all are most of the time healthier bc y’all 1) realistically criticize ccs 2) are most of the time joking and 3) seem to be self aware about being insane when you’re being insane. in most other fandom y’all would be the normal ones, bc in normal fandoms we openly debate and criticize the content we enjoy and how we enjoy it. y’all having to hide your followers and your likes and people only speaking to you on anon so no one gets attacked? literal insanity lol plus it leaves the fandom 10x more unchecked. the biggest issue with critblr would be being invasive and speculative, but i feel like y’all don’t even truth as much as main tags? idek tbjs place is so weird
but yeah that’s me 😋 if i’m wrong and i’m definitely just another one of the insane ones. well. oops! but in the meantime i have a new sideblog im gonna start using to post on/interact with so i don’t keep terrorizing my mcr mutuals with dreams weird sperm plushy. so. happy girlblogging byeeee 🥳🥳
what is the consensus on fanfic in mcyt? like this is a fanfic heavy community and ppl seem to b like 'no rpf >:(' then immediately post crimeboys incest au... like how do you justify writing fic about real ppl if you're against writing fic about real ppl? is the argument that they're writing abt the cc's dsmp characters, not the actual ccs themselves?
OMG hi! Didn't expect to see you back in these parts, sorry you are seeing the mcyt fandom through mine (and allisons) eyes. Basically, dsmp and now qsmp fic is pretty normalized bc the authors say they are writing about "characters." which, is true in a sense, bc Phil is not a hot anime dilf with wings. Though the tumblr and twitter fandom is slightly split on shipping'; tumblr is much more lax and even tends to dip into the nsfw side recently with the qsmp characters and storyline, while the twitter fandom seems to be more against shipping especially if the cc didn't specifically give them permission (IE: I saw someone get mass qrted for c!schlattbur).
With twitter, the demographic skews young and has the problems of any fandom, but with the added (horrible ingredient) that they are all fans of REAL PEOPLE. Because, I'll be honest, if the dsmp was an entirely fictional story say like a comic or anime I wouldn't give two shits about the fandom at all. I probably wouldn't even care about it period. But, the fact that there are REAL PEOPLE behind these "roleplay" characters adds this level of complication to the whole thing. I think this is best visualized when the fanfic "Passerine" blew up to the point where all of the ccs knew about it--[SPOILER for the story] Tommy dies in this fic, and his close long-time friend Eryn said on stream he didn't want to read something like that because "that's Tom." No matter how fictional the dsmp is, or how fictional the AU is, there are still real people behind these personalities with their own thoughts and lives and feelings. To write fanfiction about the dsmp is one thing (fine), two write an AU is another and as the years have gone on (believe me, I've been here for years) the fanfics have slowly become less and less about the source material (the dsmp) and more about a very very specific dynamic. (again @enneamage summarizes this better than I could because the nitty and gritty of this topic genuinely does not sit well with me) The "problem" is that rpf and shipping is a SIN within the fandom, hell, even to mainblr (which is why we're here on this #blog) which just spirals more and more "platonic" AUs. For anything, really. Which just get weirder, and weirder, and weirder. Bc on twitter theres NO SHIPPING ALLOWED, which is kind of silly for things like C!schlattbur or qsmp nsfw fics, bc like... its not that big of a deal, especially if the ship you make content of is based in a fictional story. Like why is this person getting called out for DSMP quackbur nsfw brah wilbur probably liking that shit on an alt. Which leads to people trying to find a dynamic they like ..."platonically"... as to avoid being called out. I honestly don't know how to vocalize this point fully bc I'm about to expose myself here I... am not a big shipper tbh. So I can't give an in depth explanation to what I mean (soweey! I exist for jokes!)

1 Year Blog Anniversary
—Law’s hat addition on my persona recommended by another lovely artist/writer @starrybrujita 💖 (it actually suits the Lady of Heart anniversary dress I designed lol)
It’s surreal how it’s been a year! Thank you to all 163 of you for taking a look at my small art corner on here and leaving a follow, along with all the positive and substantial feedback for miscellaneous creations I make too ❤️ It makes me happy to see that I can inspire some emotion and make someone’s day through my works or surprises that I sometimes do on a whim, as I take pride and genuine time in everything I make, since most of what I create here is from scratch and from the heart, whether it be art, writing, graphics, ideation, etc. As some may notice, I’m not as active as I used to be last August-March due to work and other reasons, but it was an experience being on the content-creating & active side of things, after years of only using this platform as a passive viewer for hobbies and fandoms ☺️ Once again, I can’t believe I made it this long and I am grateful for your support! 🌹
‼️Important Notes (please read)‼️:
-> I’ll continue posting art here & try for a rebound, but will go back to square 1 with making art for its own sake, without tagging people on my main account’s artwork—for now—to see how this blog continues organically (unless someone asks for a taglist or to be tagged. If so, please feel free to let me know which characters/content-type 😊). At the beginning & when I was most active, I usually was the one taking the 1st step towards people, bending over backwards, and speaking up for others, even if it did not directly affect me or could be shown on the surface-level of this blog, because in my mind, taking initiative was, and is, the right thing to do, even if it meant being ignored, burned, or blacklisted…it’s been a ride with ups & downs, but now it’s time I take a step for me.
->After some positive surprises on here during this week, I chose to set refresh instead of going with my other consideration to leave, so this blog can re-gear into the direction that I wanted it to be when I 1st started: a place that is artistic, fun, & unapologetically me, that still remains honest in integrity, actions, confidence, and eloquence of expression. I’ve tried quietly fading out from here, but wind up being pulled back in, in some way, so I may as well come back with a new approach. There are many things I can and wanted say about what led to these reflections. But, I won’t. After all, this is a small space that likes to make humble personalized tokens of happinesses, with big ideas, a big knowledge cache, and a bookish girl who only has 2 hands & voice that speaks more than what is seen or heard. Plus I’m going for a refresh, so I only look forward to what I can create from now on. I named this blog a “Shop of Embroidered Hearts” for a reason, after all ❤️ Though, I’ll also start being more active on Instagram by the same usernames:
@/simpforroses for general main art | @/scalpelandrose for OC/self-ship | @/michelle.hong is my personal account for general interests, memes, and hobbies. —I feel that who I am as an individual does not suit or ‘fit’ into what the Tumblr fandom environment is or has evolved into. After months of half-resolutions & holding out, I want to test my options with both platforms to see what happens (the ‘/‘ are there so there aren’t any pings)
I will be opening a digital commissions option sometime soon, as I now have a good workflow & am more confident in my skills 🎨
Writings & focused OC/self-ship content will still be on my sideblog or on my Blogger site once I fully set that up (for more personal freedom of content when it comes to naughty graphics) 🌹
I’ll still be around in the background per usual when I can ❤️ Occasionally for a few inbox drops, reblogs, or writing events when invited.
Thank you -M. 🌹

Rules for new tumblr users
I'm sure people will have seen other mcyt blogs first and they've all given warnings but I'm just making this to pin at the top of my blog and so I can edit it when I inevitably realise I've forgotten something.
General ground rules:
If you have a default profile picture, blog and haven't reblogged anything, you will likely get blocked as a potential spam account. It doesn't have to be a lot, just search the tags for some of your interests and reblog some cool art or something.
You have to curate your own dashboard on tumblr. Search and follow the tags of things you enjoy, find users within those tags you want to see more from, follow and reblog posts from them. And if you aren't enjoying yourself, don't be afraid to unfollow people again (we don't usually pay attention to follower counts) and block tags/people if you really aren't happy seeing them.
If you want to keep things nice and neat, most of us will have a main blog (the one you get when you join the website) and then for any particularly strong interests will have a side blog. You can't like or follow from side blogs, but you can reblog things easily and people can follow side blogs if they share that interest with you. You can even make group blogs by going to the side bar of your sideblog and clicking 'members'!
Don't censor words, especially in the tags. You won't get reported or 'shadowbanned' for saying words like 'kill' or 'fuck' and if you do censor them then people who have them as blocked words and may be triggered by them will see them anyway.
When you join tumblr, there will automatically be sections showing what you've liked and who you've followed publically visible on your blog. Not only can you make these invisible in your settings, but we actively encourage it! People don't usually pay attention to them anyway but it's easier for you to like the things you want when you know people won't see them and judge you.
If you want to have a conversation with other people and get replies, put what you want to say in the main text of reblogs. If you're just trying to add a funny comment or say things without people responding to them, put it in the hashtags or as a reply. It means you can reblog things from other people without also having to reblog hundreds of people's random little comments.
Mcyt specific:
If you're gonna make posts, use 'mcyt' rather than the word 'mine/craft' when you're tagging. That tag is reserved for people who want to talk about the game and if you start talking about your blorbos in their tag, you will be told off for it. Same with tags where the word is included, use (e.g. use mc championships instead of the full name because it will still get picked up by the game's tag)
There are people in the mcyt communities on tumblr who ship and will post about those ships in the main tags. I'm personally not one of those people and try to avoid it where possible but you will inevitably come across it. If that's not your thing, don't make posts raving about how terrible it is or start harrassing them. If you don't want to see it just block the people doing it, block the relevant tags and move on. The communities here are pretty good at tagging their stuff using 'hermitshipping' for hermitcraft, 'trafficshipping' for the life series, 'empireshipping' for empires, and 'dsmpshipping' for dream smp. I don't think it happens much for dsmpblr but the others it's a regular occurence.
A lot of us (including myself) don't want to be noticed by content creators! We were here first and for the people who write fics or make art, they may feel uncomfortable posting if there's a chance a CC will see it. I believe Aimsey's now saying there's an 'Aimsey look' tag that they will go through each week so only people who wanted to be noticed will be, and I know we can't really do much to stop CCs going through the hashtags but just don't @ them in posts unless they're your own or OP specifically says you can.
No drama please! This is supposed to be a chill space and people moving over from twitter aren't going to ruin that. We've been here longer than you have, so you're the guests under our house rules. This is especially the case when it comes to MCCs. Leave Scott and Noxcrew be!
This is a personal one but please don't complain to me about buildmart. Yes I know people hate it and think it's unfair but I and other people here really enjoy it so I will simply block people who complain about it. We're all entitled to opinions but it's really tiring to see people shit on it once a month every month.

— blog updates
I apologize for tagging you all and bothering you once again for my shitty reasons, but since this is an important update to my blog ( I'm remaking without remaking ), I wanted you all to know what happens and how I'll be running this blog from that point on. ( I'm moving blogs to sideblogs so I can't follow you to let you know I'm moving them )
As some of you may have noticed, I'm moving my muses to separate blogs. That's a kind of system I was using a long time ago and I'm using once again now. How that works, you'll ask. Some of my muses are hosted on separate sideblogs, but I'll still be running this blog as a multimuse/hub blog. Everything will remain the SAME, I'll still be sending asks from knightinsourarmor, like calls, reblog visuals/quotes/aesthetic from different muses/fandoms. What has changed is that the writing has moved to a sideblog for each muse. I wanted them to still be tied to this blog but have a place on their own with their aesthetic, headcanons etc. ( their vibe if you get me ).
With that system, you can follow the sideblogs you want and see content only from the muses that interest you ( cool huh? ). Kind of like, little rooms my muses are hosted at, but still on the same house.
Now, to get to the point.
Todoroki Shoto and Levi Ackerman, my most active and developed muses have moved to singlemuse blogs ( different accounts, I can like content and follow back from there ). That's a decision I made because Shoto and Levi are developed to the point the rest of my muses can't catch up. They have far too many verses, can fit almost to any plot, and deserve the amount of attention I'd give on a blog on it's own.
The rest of my primary and secondary muses have moved to SIDEBLOGS tied to this blog. As for tertiary, private and test (low activity muses) they will REMAIN on this blog. This blog will also be the place I post ooc content, updates, headcanons, rp memes, reblog stuff I find notable from the rest of my blogs. So I suggest you don't unfollow even if there's only one muse you are interested in.
Despite the many blogs, knightinsourarmor will always remain the main I run. You can still treat this blog as a multimuse, tag this url to stuff, send me asks here etc.
As for urls, since I know from experience it's difficult to remember a bunch of blogs one person only runs, I've made them all have a common word, end to ‘–baund’. That way, if a sideblog appears on your dash/notes and you don't know who this is, you'll remember this blog is connected to knightinsourarmor.
Now, because of that, activity of some muses have changed. Below is a list of my muses (+crossover verses), and where they are hosted at: ( my muses page needs updating, and I'll get to it soon )
Singlemuse Blogs: Todoroki Shoto ( @lightbaund ), Levi Ackerman ( @darknessbaund )
arcane: mel medarda ( @visionbaund ), silco ( @fearbaund ), vi (violet) (here), levi ackerman (crossover, enforcer)
bnha: todoroki shoto (singlemuse at @lightbaund ), todoroki toya ( @rejectionbaund ), amajiki tamaki (here), cassiel hart (bnha oc) ( @griefbaund ), levi ackerman ( crossover, hero), kambe daisuke (crossover, detective)
bsd: oda sakunosuke (here), levi ackerman (crossover, ada member)
fkb:u: kambe daisuke (here)
kny: levi ackerman (crossover, demon slayer), mikaela hyakuya (crossover, demon slayer/demon)
miraculous: adrien agreste (here)
noragami: levi ackerman (crossover, shinki)
ons: mikaela hyakuya ( @humanitybaund )
snk: levi ackerman (singlemuse at @darknessbaund ), reiner braun ( @guiltbaund ), mikasa ackerman ( @familybaund ), kuchel ackerman ( @emptinessbaund )
servamp: licht jekylland todoroki (here), todoroki shoto (crossover, vampire)
spy x family: todoroki shoto (crossover, imperial scholar)
spn: castiel ( @freedombaund ), levi ackerman (crossover, hunter), todoroki shoto (crossover, hunter/half monster), mikaela hyakuya (crossover, vampire)
tbhk: tsuchigomori ryuujirou ( @futurebaund )
private (portrayed on this blog only ): violet evergarden, ishida shoya, oda sakunosuke
It's a pain in the ass, I know, but you don't need to remember anything, only follow the blogs you are interested in for the content you want to appear on your dash. Like I said, I will keep this blog as a main, so remembering this blog only is fine.

PSA: Back up your blog, check your tumblr e-mail for copyright strikes
Hi everyone, after suddenly losing my account with main blog + sideblogs last week, I would like to share the following warning with y'all. Not to scare you even though it is shitty, but to raise awareness. If this somehow results in me getting kicked off the platform again, so be it lol.
If you post anything fandom* related on your tumblr blog**, whether that's gifs, screenshots, videos, cosplay pics or even fics (?), you may risk getting a copyright strike (up to 3 in 18 months) or even immediate account termination. The chance is still rather small, but just know that it can happen.
*I say fandom in the broad term, so blogs that post about movies and series, anime/manga, games, celebrities, models, sports/olympics, etc. and it goes for gif and fic creators too. Not just accounts that post music or videos for example.
**I say tumblr blog, but this goes for all of the internet ofc. People have been getting this problem on any platform, from insta to etsy, youtube and twitter.
Disclaimer: I am no legal expert, just an unlucky blogger who lost her silly multifandom fic blog after 7+ years.
This will be a bit long and detailed so I proceed under the cut!
What can you do?
...To make sure you don't suddenly lose days, months, and years of content:
CHECK THE EMAIL LINKED TO YOUR TUMBLR. I know a lot of people don't do it, myself included. Tumblr does send warnings (though not always). It wouldn't have changed anything for me because I wouldn't want to appeal - since I don't want to go into this "fair use" discussion for just a fic & editing blog. I personally don't know the chances of retrieving your blog if you protest against the claims, so can't say much about that.
Back up your Tumblr blog if you can. Also save your Tumblr chats with people dear to you if you can. Account termination seems to work differently than deactivation. I was still able to see chats with people who deactivated long ago. But my blog that got terminated has vanished from everyone's DMs and ask boxes à la Thanos snap. I mourn my years of Tumblr chat with my best friend. It was not as if we even considered exporting/copying it just for the memories of the start of our friendship. But now that it's entirely gone, hehe, well. It is sad.
Save URLs and masterposts outside Tumblr. After losing your account, for I thiiink about 24-48hrs (I didn't clock, but it was temporary) you will be able to access it at least temporarily through cachedpages, if you have the URL. It doesn't seem to work for everything, but most of my Tumblr posts I could still see shortly through this site, even after I got wiped off the platform. I did this by googling my tumblr username + certain keywords, and the posts would pop up and give me the URL.
...To prevent getting copyright strikes and losing your account?
Probably nothing - but like I said, I'm not the expert, just the fool who lost her account. The termination e-mail will give you a numbered URL so it's not easy to see which post resulted in the account loss, but for me the keywords were:
-
-
Despite the 7+ years of posts, many followers and a lot of memories, I did not gain anything else from this blog and didn't think it was worth the (legal-) risks and effort to try and get it back. It would require filing an objection against the copyright claims with personal info from home address to name, and consenting to USA legal law stuff.
Even if I don't know the exact details, I'm sure they're not wrong, because whether it's fair or not, most fandom stuff has copyright issues in the end, so I can't protest against the claims with 100% certainty it won't get me in real trouble. Besides, I read about similar cases, lost cases, and admitted defeat right away.
They work with manual reports and most dangerously, bots, who seem to be randomly picking unlucky people to take down their posts and possibly the entire account.
So besides putting an entire halt to fic writing, gif making, video editing and other fandom indulgement, or the inconvenient act of censoring every single word and image, I don't think there is a way to entirely prevent getting targeted.
The one that treated me to the strikes leading to account termination was a certain Mr. Green who seems to have targeted mostly people on Etsy. But apparently now also on Tumblr. More about this I can share here for further information. I also share some other links that can inform you about how far the copyright problem can go. Again, no reason to panic. It's rare and I was unlucky. But it happens.
About Mr. Green, using bots all over the internet to take down fandom related material:
Tumblr post about his attack on fandom.
Long detailed doc from an Etsy user.
Insta post about also loss of Etsy account.
Also Etsy related, but same Mr. Green and his bots taking down something only because it used the NAME of an anime character.
Tweet about him and his company not being officially contracted but getting compensated.
About copyright claims on Tumblr - they are still rare, no panic, I just call it russian roulette and these are all unlucky people like me :')
Post by user @/marilynjeansiims about claims against users who post about Sims, including a petition against it.
Post by user @/happyheidi about Moomin posts facing issues.
Post by user @/hanyusan about olympic related claims.
Example by user @/koov about what a vague copyright warning looks like.
Good news, post by user @/yunghos about getting their account back after filing a counter notice. It seems to be possible.
Post by user @/iamkatehardy about getting a strike for using a gif.
Post by user @/stxrshxpxd about getting their acc terminated for no 100% clear reasons.
Post by user @/tekweela about getting terminated mercilessly because of a reblog.
Post by user @/fromanotherroom-revived about losing their account with similar advice as I write here.
Post by user @/ladyphasma about gifs and US law
Knowing this won't bring lost accounts back, or change the law, I do hope at least you can be better prepared just in case it happens... Better prepared than I was at least.

Hi, I don't know if your reference to someone complaining about entitlement and guilt trippy posts was about mine specifically or it's just a coincidence and you just saw a similar post, but mine was in response to someone saying being a lurker was wrong and that people should make sideblogs just to reblog art they don't feel like reblogging on their main account. I didn't mean to say people can't complain about their posts not getting many reblogs in general.
Hello.
Are you talking about this comic I drew? Or something I reblogged?
Either way, I don't believe so?
I mean as far as the comic is concerned it definitely wasn't, because I based that on events that have happened more than once regarding my art getting reposted and seeing the same happen to many others, as well as various instances over the years where I've witnessed abuse thrown at other artists/content makers where they were called entitled or guilt-trippy just for talking about their experiences/being sad that no one sees their stuff anymore. It wasn't really triggered by any specific posts that I had seen. (Honestly didn't expect it to take off like that either, but I suppose that goes to show that it's an even bigger problem than I thought seeing as so many relate to it, which is kinda saddening.)
If you instead mean something that I reblogged, I still don't believe so. Feel free to link me to whatever post you're referring to that you made (as well as whatever post you're asking about on my end if it wasn't the comic) I did try to skim your blog to see if there was something I had forgotten about but I couldn't find anything like what you described from you, but I could have easily missed it. I also searched for your blog name in my archive in case I reblogged something that you either made or commented on and that also came up empty, so I'll need some help here to know what you're referring to.
That said (and I'm not trying to be snarky at all when I say this), while I can appreciate that you're trying to clear up a possible miscommunication (I think that's what this ask is? I might be wrong) it may be unwarranted because until this ask I'm not sure I've ever run into your blog before and I'm not quite sure why you might believe I based my comic (or other posts) off something said by you specifically?
Again, feel free to help me out with the specifics, but as of right now it's looking like it must have been a coincidence.
Take care.

Hey, I'm just letting you know I noticed some of your posts have been reposted on facebook by "Just Sock Thoughts"
Yeah, I feel like I get my Premium Original Content scooped by aggregators pretty frequently, and for the most part I don’t mind (or like... just don’t see it because I can’t bring myself to actually get into Instagram). But there are two aggregator incidents that stand out in my mind as particularly remarkable:
Incident 1:
I’d probably have a much bigger head about the relative frequency that one of my posts takes off if I didn’t know that becoming an Extremely Minor Internet Personality is way less about making good content than it is about... random luck, I guess.
Like, this is actually a sideblog (so for any of my longtime buddies on here who might be wondering why I’m not following you? I prooooobably am). At the time I made this sideblog (2015-2016?), I never thought it would pick up more followers than the 200 or so I had managed to coax into following my main blog over the course of four-ish years.
I was wrong, this account rapidly accumulated followers, and now I get scooped by aggregators on the reg. And like... it’s not like I’m doing anything different on this one than I was doing on my main, other than obscuring my identity a little better? I’m not funnier here, I’m not changing my formula, it’s just that I got enough followers when I first made this sideblog (through my patented process of Writing Explicit Undertale Fanfic in the Hopes of Getting Enough Monetary Donations That I Could Afford To Eat) that now even though I’m just posting my own weird niche bullshit on here, the odds are stacked in my favor towards any one of my posts picking up a lot of notes. If I posted the same exact thing on my extremely obscure main? The odds swing HARD the other way. In the 3-4 years before I made the trickster account, I was lucky to break 10 notes on a post, and 500 was as high as any of them went.
Except for one.
You’ve probably seen the post I’m talking about. It’s surpassed my most popular trickster posts by like... several hundreds of thousands of notes. I’m not linking it here for two reasons:
A) I never scrubbed all my selfies off my main and I don’t need all y’all discovering that I’m hot as hell, and more importantly
B) the post in question fucking sucks.
It’s like the lowest effort meme, it’s smug and annoying, and it basically reeks of the worst era of r/athiesm. It’s the sort of shit that gets popular on facebook groups that wish they were “I fucking love science” but can’t achieve the same degree of quality... even though it’s an extremely low hurdle for them to jump. It evokes the concept of a fedora. Whenever I see it on tumblr, I want to hop in a time machine, travel back to the 17th century, convince Matsubayashi Henyasai to take me on as a pupil, train under his tutelage until he declares that I have mastered my chosen weapon, hop back into the time machine, travel to 2013, infiltrate my old apartment, and finally, at the precise moment my former self is about to click “post” on that dumbass meme, destroy her mouse, laptop, and cellphone with an incredibly accurate barrage of shurikens.
Still, like... while it makes me cringe to my very soul whenever I encounter it, there’s a tiny part of me that has spent the last eight years just BASKING in the validation of knowing that there are several hundred thousand anonymous people out there who think I’m funny. It is not an attractive part of me, but shit, I’m an Extremely Minor Internet Personality, and you don’t become that unless you’re in some way motivated by the approval of anonymous strangers.
I’m giving you all this backstory so you can understand the significance of something that happened last month.
There I was, innocently scrolling through my news feed to see how my Trumpy uncle was justifying the whole coup thing, when I came upon a familiar image. I recoiled in horror, and then examined it more closely.
The Coolest Guy I Knew In College But Never Succeeded In Really Befriending (Because I Was Too Intimidated By How Cool He Was) had just shared my smug, cringy-as-hell meme from 2013 on his wall... and the version he had shared had been not only watermarked by one of the aforementioned wannabe “I fucking love science” groups, but also had a copyright symbol on it next to the name of some dude I’ve never even heard of.
THE MAELSTROM OF CONFLICTING EMOTIONS IS STILL OVERWHELMING ME TO THIS DAY. I AM WINCING. I AM INDIGNANT. I AM REASSESSING WHETHER THAT GUY WAS ACTUALLY AS COOL AS I THOUGHT HE WAS. I AM WEIRDLY AMUSED. I AM EXTREMELY CONFUSED.
I AM SUSPICIOUS THAT SOMEONE MIGHT BE MAKING MONEY OFF OF MY NONSENSE, AND IF SO, I WOULD LIKE MY GODDAMN CUT.
...
i’m fine
i’m gonna be fine
Incident 2:
This really requires a lot less elaboration than the last one, but @anagha-draws brought this aggregator post to my attention and I just can’t stop thinking about the fact that there’s a guy out there who got paid some amount of actual U.S. dollars to write a book report about the time I accidentally played WAP for my mom’s book club.

Anonymous:
Do you have any advice on how to start an rp blog? I feel like there's so much to do and so many specific things, it looks intimidating, but I really want to get into it (and your blog seems like a safe space to ask as a baby in the matter)
Hi! Thanks you for asking and for trusting. I do admit that rping on tumblr can look daunting and there is a series of things that are considered “etiquette” that might not be obvious for newcomers. And the only way to learn is to ask, right? As I’m not sure if you would like something more specific or a step-by-step, I’m going to go through the whole process.
note: this is a repost from an ask in a more reblog-friendly format
1. Setting up the blog
You might want to make a new e-mail account for each blog you want. I recommend making a gmail/google account, so you may be able to use other services and associate them with your blog. I’ll go into more details in a minute.
Some people would rather have a personal blog and then making the RP blog as a side-blog. Or a “hub” blog and many side-blogs so they have everything centralized. The downside is that you can’t follow people with side-blogs, only the main – and some rpers are a little suspicious of personal blogs, so if you intend to go this route it might be a good idea to state somewhere in your blog that you have a RP blog.
Tip : It isn’t said too often, but I recommend saving your blog’s e-mail and password somewhere, maybe a flashdrive or even google drive. This way, if something happens you will be able to retrieve your account.
When picking the URL, for a very long time tumblr had problems tagging URLs with a hyphen ( - ). I’m not sure if it has been fixed or if there are still some issues, so I recommend only using letters and maybe numbers. Other than that, pick anything that sounds nice to you!
Themes are nice, but not entirely necessary. Not everybody has photoshop skills and all that. Some people do have commissioned themes, but if you want to try your hand at it my first stop is usually @theme-hunter or @sheathemes . They reblog many themes from many creators, so there are always many options that might suit your needs. Some creators offer very newcomer-friendly themes that you can configure a lot of things without much hassle but some might require basic HTML knowledge – a few creators have guides on how to properly set up their themes and are willing to and answer questions, so don’t be afraid to contact them! You can also send me an ask, I’m not a specialist but I can certainly help walk you through the basics.
Tip: @glenthemes have very good themes and a basic installation guide here.
When fiddling with the options, try to pick colors that have nice contrast and are easy to read. If you are bad at picking colors or have problems in finding the code for them, I recommend trying this link. There is also this one that auto-generate palettes.
Tip : If you mess with your theme, remember there is the Theme Recovery.
Tip: If you use Chrome or Firefox you can set up different profiles and associate each with a different blog, so you don’t need to log out from any of your accounts.
There are two pages that I recommend having: one is an about your muse. If they are an OC, it is always a good idea to have at least some information out there to make things easier. If they are from a canon source, not everybody is familiar with the material so it might be a good idea to state. For example, if you are going to roleplay as Altria/Arturia, it is a good idea to have a “RP blog for Saber (Altria Pendragon) from FGO/FSN “ somewhere visible. The other page that is a good idea having is a rules/guidelines page. This one can be a little intimidating, but it is usually a way to communicate important things. For example: are you comfortable writing violence? Do you have any personal triggers? There is something you absolutely won’t write? There are things you may figure out along the way and it is absolutely ok to fine-tune this session every now and then. Some people also credit source for their icons and graphics in general in their rule/guideline page.
If you are using the tumblr default themes, when you create a new page you can turn on the option to show a link to the page. If you are using a custom theme, most of the time you will have to link it manually.
Oh, and if you are planning to do a multimuse, it might be a good idea to list which muses you have. The same goes for a hub blog; list the muses and link to the pages.
Icons aren’t necessary but are considered commonplace. You can find some icons I’ve done here but there are plenty of other sources. If you want to do your own icons, keep in mind to don’t make them too big, as a courtesy to your mutuals.
Tip: Anything larger than 300 pixels will be stretched to fit the post. As of today ( 4/29/2021 ) the posts are currently 540 pixels wide. This can be useful as making banners for your blog.
Tumblr allow users to “pin” posts. This mean that they will always visible if you access your blog, even on dash/mobile. You can use this to set up a post with basic links for mobile users or something else. For example, if you are out on vacations and won’t be able to do replies, you can pin a hiatus notice and then remove the pin once you are back.
2. Introducing yourself
Time to officially join the fun! (insert a “Hi, Zuko here” joke) Don’t worry if you don’t have a fancy promo graphic or anything, most people make their initial introduction with a simple post.
(as you can see, I’m not very good at saying ‘hi’)
Try to introduce yourself in a few lines, but make sure to state which muse you RP as. Some people also like adding their pen name/alias and establishing a brand. Follow as many people as you want that reblogged or liked your post, and tumblr is going to start recommending other blogs that are related to the tags you use normally or have any relation to the people you follow. You can put as many tags as you want, but tumblr will disregard more than 6 tags in their system. Try tags like “<fandom> rp” and “<fandom> roleplay” along with the media, such as “movie” “video game”, “anime” and so on.
It might also be a good idea to follow a few RP memes blogs. They often have options to break the ice, like one-liners that your mutual can send you.
Tip: Don’t forget to turn on the asks and the anon
3. Practical advice
Alright, now that you have a few mutuals, it is time to get to some general tips:
Tumblr can be a little “iffy”, and a great quality of life extension for RPers and navigation in general is installing the New Xkit extension. They offer a number of options to enhance your tumblr experience, but the ones I consider essential are the “editable reblogs”, “quick tags” and “blacklist”. Get it for Chrome or Firefox.
As a rule of thumb I recommend writing your RPs using Google Docs before posting or replying. By doing this you can do some spell check and if your browser crashes for any reason you can easily recover your work. You can also use Word, Open Office, or any text editor you feel like.
Because I’m a bit of a perfectionist, I also have Grammarly ( Chrome / Firefox ) installed for an extra layer of spell/grammar check. There is a subscription option, but the free one works perfectly fine.
To make things easier to locate, always tag the URL of your RP partner when doing a reply. There are other useful things you can tag, such as open starters, memes, and such.
Risking being obvious here, but when you are not interacting as your character it might be a good idea to tag as “ooc” or “out of character”.
Some people like making google docs with basic info and other useful stuff for easier access on mobile. It is a recent trend, it might be easier to edit as opposed to going through tumblr page editor and dealing with the HTML. You can find some templates here and here.
Tumblr’s activity can be unreliable, so don’t be afraid of contacting your partner to see if they have gotten your reply after a few weeks. However, some people also enjoy using the RP Thread Tracker in order to be on top of things. It might be a good idea to check it out.
Because of Tumblr shadowbanning and shenanigans, it isn’t unusual for people to have NSFW sideblogs (sometimes referred as ‘sin blogs’). If you want to write smut, it might be a good idea to consider making one.
Some people don’t like replying to asks, as Tumblr won’t let you remove the initial ask. It has become common to see people making new posts to reply to asks. This is a simple example:
As you can see, I used the mention to have the RP partner notified then I copied and pasted their question on my post and used the quote to indicate it. You can also have fancy graphics, like a line to separate the contents, just do whatever you feel like with the formatting or keep it simple.
To make sure your partner got the answer, I recommend copying the link to the post and pasting on the ask and then replying it privately. An example sent to my rp blog:
4. Basic Etiquette
Ok, this is a little subjective most of the time but here are a few things that are considered universal courtesy.
Never reblog someone else’s headcanons. If you enjoy it, maybe it should politely contact the author and ask if it is ok to write something based on their original idea but you should never downright copy or lift something from another creator. It is considered rude, or even theft in some cases.
Don’t reblog threads you are not involved with. It is ok to leave a like, but never reblog. This is because Tumblr can mess up the notifications and disrupt the flow of the RP.
Don’t copy other people’s graphics. It is very rude and sometimes they commission (aka: paid) for it.
Trim your posts. What does that mean? Every time you reblog with a reply, the post tends to get longer and longer, and it can cluster your and your mutuals’ dashes. This is why the New X-Kit’s “editable reblogs” is an almost must-have tool. If for some reason you can’t install X-Kit (if you are on mobile for example), then remove the previous post or ask your partner to trim for you.
Never take control of your RP partner’s muse. This is called “godmodding” and it is heavily frowned upon. It is ok to control your muse and the possible NPCs that you inserted, but never seize someone else’s character. Likewise, it can also be very upsetting if you use what people call “meta-gaming”, applying knowledge that your muse shouldn’t know about the other. For example, let’s say your RP partner’s muse is a vampire, but they have never disclosed that information to your muse, who also doesn’t have an excuse to know that (for example, being a vampire hunter) so it can be quite jarring sometimes. When in doubt, contact your partner.
This should go without saying, but RPing sexual themes with users under the age of 18 are illegal. It doesn’t matter if the age of consent in your location is lower, once you join Tumblr you are abiding by their user guidelines and the law of the state they are located in. If you are an adult, don’t engage minors with these topics, maybe a fade to black would be a better option. If you are a minor, don’t insist or you might cause a lot of legal problems for others.
Try to tag anything triggering. Violence, gore, NSFW. Both Tumblr and the New Xkit have options to block keywords.
When picking PSDs or graphics for your blog, you should avoid templates that change the color of the skin of POCs muses and try to pick the right race/ethnicity of the muse you are going to RP as. I won’t go through a lot of details, as it is a rather lengthy subject in an already lengthy conversation but keep this in the back of your mind.
Some RPers don’t like when you reblog memes from them without sending anything. Try to always reblog from a source or to interact with the person you are reblogging from, it can be rather disheartening to be seen as a meme source rather than a RP blog. This isn’t a rule and some people don’t mind, but it is always a good idea to try to do this.
This might be more of a pet peeve of mine than proper etiquette, but it is ok to use small font. What is not ok is use small font + underscript. Some people have disabilities that might make it harder for them to read it, so it might be a good idea to refrain from using it. Maybe if you feel like doing something fancier every now and then, but I wouldn’t recommend making this a habit.
Mun and Muse are different entities. Remember that it isn’t because a muse does something (especially a villain one) that the mun condones something. Never assume anything about the mun, when in doubt talk to them.
Be mindful of your partners and treat them the way you would like to be treated.
As a rule of thumb, always talk to your RP partner. It is only fun as long both of you are enjoying it.
5. Closing Words
This got longer than I expected.
Despite all of that, don’t be too worried about not being very good at first. I assure you that you will get better with time, so don’t be afraid of experimenting as long you feel comfortable. And don’t be afraid of saying “no” if something bothers you.
My inbox is always open to questions and ideas, so feel free to contact me anytime!
I would also ask my followers: there is advice I missed/overlooked? Anything you would like someone have told you when you first started? Add your thoughts so I can update this.
Happy RPing!

My Content & Boundaries
[No need to be alarmed! Nothing has happened to prompt this, I just figured it was about time that I pin a post like this.]
Welcome to my kink blog! This post is here to introduce myself, disclose what type of content that I may reblog or post here (including trigger warnings) and state my boundaries concerning who I want and don’t want interacting with me or my blog.
Intro:
Hi! I’m pudgecuddles! I’ve been here in the community as a lurker since 2018, and finally got around to making this sideblog about 2 years ago under the handle “prettypudgy”. I changed my username slightly after some twitter douchecanoes took screenshots of my content and made threads mocking it.
I am 24 years old and identify as female. Please use she/her pronouns when referring to me. I won’t be mad at all though if you use they/them or he/him, but I’ll probably just gently let you know what I prefer :)
I am aromantic/asexual, meaning that I do not experience romantic or sexual attraction to people of any gender identity or expression. I still experience aesthetic attraction, and of course enjoy the concept of weight gain as a kink.
Although I am participating in them, I am not looking for RP partners at the moment!
My Content and the Content I Reblog:
Although I do like fluffy and mild WG content (ya’ll who make that type of content are amazing and beautiful and deserve all the love and reblogs in the world), I do enjoy darker and less popular tropes/kinks as well. Up until recently the majority of the stuff I’ve reblogged has been cute and moderate, but I have been working on my own stories and RPs which happen to be on the more intense/darker side.
My content going forward may include topics such as:
Extreme Weight Gain Immobility Mind Break Pet/Pig Play BDSM Humiliation Manipulation Feminization Dub-Con Watersports Eproctophilia Slob Abusive Relationships (it’s not something I enjoy writing, but I may reblog it)
I will always tag specific topics and tropes that may not be for everyone such as immobility or fart kink stuff. And definitely triggering content such as dub-con or degradation. For example, I will tag it as “Immobility”, “cw Immobility” and “tw Immobility”, in case someone has only one tag blacklisted.
Please keep yourself safe! This community is supposed to be a comfortable, creative area where users can curate a homepage of content that matches thier tastes and respects their boundaries. I will not be offended at all if you decide to block me or my written/rendered content. All I ask is if you’re already an acquaintance or mutual of mine that you let me know before you do :) You don’t even need to tell me why, I just don’t want to wonder if I made you mad or were ignoring me on purpose.
Zero hard feelings, seriously! The block button is there to protect you!
Boundaries:
Please do not hit on me, or unexpectedly discus sexual topics without me knowing your age and instigating it. It is different if I already know you and am comfortable speaking with you like that.
Yes: Pudgecuddles: Wow that drawing is ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) You, 18+: Wanna see him get bigger? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
No: Pudgecuddles: Wow! I love your line work! It’s so clean and really compliment’s the shading! You, 18+: Wanna see him get bigger? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
No: Pudgecuddles: Wow! I love your line work! It’s so clean and really compliment’s the shading! You, 16: Wanna see him get bigger? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Yes: Pudgecuddles: Wow! I love your line work! It’s so clean and really compliment’s the shading! You, 16: Thank you so much! ^_^ What do you think about the shape of his hands?
Minors: If you do not have your age, (or at least an 18+ only, or “I am an adult!”) in your bio, I will either ask you for your age or choose not to interact directly with you. This is not a punishment or a personal vendetta. I just do not feel comfortable interacting directly with minors when it comes to NSFW kink content. I am okay with reblogging your content, as supporting those in the community that are still young and exploring their identities in a safe and distant way is very important to me. I am so happy for you that you have found a welcoming and protective space to safely explore your sexuality and discuss your favorite groups. It’s what I wish I had when I was younger.
But I ask that you don’t attempt to private message me or participate in conversations that are sexual in nature.
Bigotry: Do not interact with me, my blog or my content if you do not support all LGBTQ+ identities. This includes but is not limited to: Transgender folk, Bisexuals, Pansexuals, Polysexuals, Omnisexuals, Asexuals, Aromantics and Non-Binary/Agender peeps. TERFs, exclusionists and Battleaxe Bisexuals are not welcome and will be insta-blocked. Same with those that participate in “discourse” on these topics.
If you do not believe that Black Lives Matter or support Donald Trump or any conservative party, politician or policy, please unfollow and block me. They have killed thousands of people and actively lobby against minorities.
This is the only time that I will be political on this blog. I am infinitely more outspoken/advocating on my main, but this sideblog is supposed to be a stress-free, kinky escape from the horrors of reality. I go on my main to reblog petitions, I go on here to reblog erotica.
This does not mean that I do not care, or that I am not an ally or that I enable racists or transphobes. It just means that I recognize that sometimes people get burnt out from constantly being reminded of the policies that harm them, or acts of violence against their race. I want this blog to be an escape, for both myself and my followers.
Hate/Trolling: Hateful or negative comments on me or my friend’s content will get your account blocked. This ranges from “ew” to telling them to kill themselves. This behavior is not tolerable anywhere, and the more extreme comments will be reported to Tumblr staff. Comments saying our content is disgusting will automatically tell me you think it’s hot and are in denial. How very sad. I will dedicate my grossest story to you specifically.
Inter-Community Drama: Mob behavior, brigading, witch hunting, call out posts (vague or by name), vitriolic hate and bullying of any type is something that makes me extremely uncomfortable due to having experienced cyberbullying in the past. Making people deactivate, continuing to attack them after apologies and other related behavior will get you blocked no matter the quality of your content, your standing in the community or our relationship history.
I cannot deal with seeing that behavior and it scares me continuing to interact with those that I learn can so easily turn on their friends like that.
That’s All Folks!

about me tag game thing
i was tagged by the wonderful @nothingunrealistic! thank you very much ily <3
under read more bc i was not capable of keeping my answers brief this time around
why did you choose your url?
this...was supposed to be a short explanation but it turned into quite a tale so strap in i guess because we are going on a ride. back in 2017 i was just getting into musical theatre rp and i was still feeling too shy to really talk to anyone ooc so i would just wait for people i wanted to interact with to post starter calls so i could just do things in character with them the easy way. So i did this with my friend cam, who posted a starter for me using a lyric from If I Could Tell Her. she linked the song so i could listen to it, so i did and i went ‘wait a minute, is that Ben Platt from Pitch Perfect?? (and other things too, but i only recognized his voice at the time bc of the acappella girl movies)’ and yes it certainly was.
i had zero idea what the plot of Dear Evan Hansen was about at that point, and for some reason based off Just That One Song and the poster art of who i assumed was Some Guy in a Polo Shirt i started to think it was about some jock guy who broke his arm and had an emo/goth friend who had either died or gone missing under mysterious circumstances. also i intuited that Evan had a crush on his friend’s sister but he couldn’t tell her that directly or his emo friend would kick his ass. so i was like mostly wrong, but a little bit right.
oh and i knew jared and alana were characters from the show bc cam said that they were i think?? but i had no idea what their role was. so after listening to if i could tell her, i listened to good for you and all i really got out of that was that evan the apparently not-jock guy had done...something... that really hurt jared and alana. and at that point i finally decided to go look up a plot synopsis and i found out i was waaay off base. but honestly this is why cast recordings should include scene dialogue in the songs bc otherwise you just get soundtracks like dear evan hansen where the songs have like. zero context. we really just go from waving through a window to for forever to sincerely me without like. any reason as to what is happening huh. It’s honestly not a surprise anymore that all those people on twitter had no idea the plot isn’t about gay teenagers.
anyways. cam was writing jared and she made a post at one point about wishing somebody would write alana and i was like ‘oh i could do that!’ (after i had actually Seen a bootleg and finally knew what the whole story was, of course) so i made a multimuse rp blog featuring alana beck, nabulungi hatimbi, chloe valentine and some other characters, and cam started sharing her headcanons with me that alana is trans, jared and alana were close friends when they were little kids but they sort of drifted apart as they got older and their priorities in life changed, jared was the first person alana came out to when she realized she’s trans, etc.
one night i started talking about wanting to pick a more theatre-relevant url for my blog and trans-[character name] urls were getting pretty popular, and at least 3 of the friends i made through rp had changed theirs to coordinating trans-[character name] and i think it was cam suggested i should make mine be trans-alana so i did. eventually i realized the unhyphenated version was available so i changed it to transalana with no hyphen and i have lived here ever since. sometimes i think about changing it but i feel like transalana has become a part of My Brand and i am not so great with coming up with cool names for things.
any side blogs? if you have them, name them and why you have them
in theory, i have sideblogs... i don’t really use them, but of the ones i do have, there is:
emsbookblog - this was supposed to be where i would post excerpts of the book that i’m working on, but i think i did that maybe one time roughly 2 years ago and then promptly forgot about it/got nervous about my writing and was scared to share anything else. the rest of the stuff that is there is assorted writing tips. i don’t really know what to do with it now. i probably should post all my little thoughts about em and anita and caleb there instead of infodumping on my main from time to time, but if i do that then i have to promo a sideblog and direct people over to it which is always annoying to me when i could just do it on this blog which is much easier
dearnovelhansen - this is basically no longer used, but was a sideblog i made specifically to talk/complain about the novel adaptation of Dear Evan Hansen which was about 3 years ago?? maybe? i can’t be trusted to understand the passage of time. but to summarize: i thought it was an honor just to have the story be made more accessible since many of us couldn’t see the stage performance, but i hated a lot of the creative liberties that were taken. my main grumbles are that everyone who isn’t evan or connor is done so dirty in the novel. connor’s still kind of done dirty in the book, but not as much as like. heidi, alana, jared, and zoe are.
horseisle3 - this one was meant to be a place where i could just enthusiastically post screenshots from hi3, but instead it turned into a blog where i occasionally reblog other players’ hi3 content and bitch about how bad the game admins are bc hi3 is the tumblr famous (infamous?) homophobic horse game. the game where it was once okay to call your club store the gulag bc according to their head of hr, ‘it’s just a russian word for prison’ but you can’t say ‘im gay’ without somebody accusing you of corrupting young children who play the game. unfortunately there aren’t very many good interactive horse games out there, so this one is still about as good as it gets. it’s either that or star stable and i don’t care about star stable.
mlaenie - i’ve had this url saved for i don’t even know how long. way way way back in the day when i wanted to escape from the clutches of the onceler fandom i abandoned my first blog where i basically had an alter ego i guess?? and i decided to just be myself on the new blog. i don’t fully remember who came up with it, but one of my sister’s mutuals suggested that if you scrambled the letters in your name you could come up with aesthetic-looking urls. so lauren’s url became lrauen, and to match with her mine became mlaenie, which i abandoned on tumblr after about a year or so? but have continued to use as my main username on twitter, reddit, youtube, xbox, steam, and discord. i barely ever use any of these accounts aside from twitter, steam, and xbox, but yeah. so i’ve decided to try and turn this empty sideblog into a place for video game thoughts maybe. we’ll see how long it lasts this time around.
how long have you been on tumblr?
i made my first tumblr account in december of 2010, but i didn’t understand how to use it at all or how to customize my theme to look cool and unique so i quickly abandoned it. i made a new account in september of 2011 after some kids at school and my sister told me i should and i have been trapped here with varying degrees of activity/inactivity ever since. i have witnessed the rise and fall of the lorax/onceler fandom, hyperfocused on lord of the rings, star wars and back to the future all at the same time, and for the past 4 years i’ve mostly been a musical theatre blog with assorted other fandom stuff mixed in. i feel i have seen everything and nothing, but mostly i’m just tired and bored.
do you have a queue tag?
no bc i don’t use a queue. i’ve tried using it in the past but i irrationally feel pressured to sustain a coherent theme to queued posts and my brain simply does not vibe with that so i just don’t use it at all anymore. Instead i instantly reblog or post several unrelated thoughts in succession and then don’t post again at all for 3 days. the way god intended
why did you start your blog in the first place?
my very first blog was intended to be a place for me to post all of my petz 5 animals’ profile info, but i didn’t have any understanding of how coding worked at all and i don’t think i really wanted to learn, either. so it just sat there, unused. my second attempt at blogging was as a classic rock fandom person, so as you can probably imagine i was pretty pretentious about ‘modern pop’ vs the beatles, the rolling stones, the who, the monkees, and so on. and then i slowly devolved into a lorax fandom blog and everything went to shit so i made a new blog for lord of the rings/the hobbit which later evolved to include star wars and back to the future blogging. and then for the past 4 years i’ve been mainly a musical theatre blog with other random stuff i like thrown haphazardly into the pot. wonderful.
why did you choose your icon/pfp?
because my url is transalana and two of my most prominent lgbt headcanons are that alana beck is trans and a lesbian. i gotta be shouting out @kinqmike though bc she’s the one i adopted the trans alana beck headcanon from in the first place!
why did you choose your header?
in 2017 i was hyperfixating on Dear Evan Hansen (and Be More Chill, but there weren’t many gif-able videos then considering it ran for a month in New Jersey in 2015 and there was only one yet-to-resurface 35 minute bootleg) so i just grabbed a random gif off of google. i really should get to replacing it with a new header of my own though. i just don’t know what i should do for it.
what’s your post with the most notes?
i have lost track of how many notes it has (i think it’s somewhere around 200 now?) but when Will Roland and George Salazar performed Two Player Game on Good Morning America, i posted a screencap of their Jeremy and Michael along with that one quiz answer meme that says stuff like ‘i want to see it grow up healthy’. i didn’t tag it with any ship names or anything because i was anxious about having it show up in the tags, but somebody who reblogged it from me did tag it as boyf riends and i firmly believe it took off because of that. i don’t think i make posts that are relevant enough to amass thousands of notes, even by accident. which is probably a good thing bc if i did i would have to block so many of them.
how many followers do you have?
on this blog? 175 according to the counter. how many of those are still real people and how many are bots and abandoned accounts? i have no idea.
how many people do you follow?
i try to keep it somewhere around 200. i think i’m sitting at 180 right now but i kind of need to go through and clear out the really inactive blogs.
have you made a shitpost?
let’s think about this for a second. i’ve been on tumblr for nearly 10 years. you might even be able to say i’ve made more than one. they’re just not what you would call...popular shitposts.
how do you feel about ‘you need to reblog this’ post?
that stuff makes me so incredibly anxious that i have to fight the urge to want to yeet my laptop or mobile device through the closest window whenever i read it, so i try very hard to avoid any sort of ‘if you don’t reblog this, i’m judging you’ posts. i find them very manipulative and not particularly helpful
do you like tag games?
yeah babey!! i just frequently forget to do them, but please know that if you have ever tagged me in a tag game i felt incredibly touched by the gesture and the @mention even if i completely forgot to do the thing afterward
do you like ask games?
i do! but also rip to literally anyone who has ever sent me an ask meme bc it takes me so long to answer them. i’m still working on a micro fic prompt from a few weeks ago. also, horrified to realized that it has in fact been a few weeks and not 3 days anymore.
which of your mutuals do you think is tumblr famous?
i don’t know that any are tumblr famous as a whole. but probably @neverheardnothing
do you have a crush on a mutual?
in any sort of romantic connotation? no. not that i’m aware of. there are mutuals that i have friend crushes on where i want to be friends with them but i get so anxious when it comes to meeting new people that usually nothing ever comes of it. i’m really not good at small talk or other casual conversation either which, as you may or may not be able to imagine, sucks. i just wanna skip over all of the awkward introductions and ‘hey how are you, how is life, what are you doing with yourself?’ stuff. not because i don’t care about it. i do, but i think most of my friends/the people i want to be my friends are also depressed and anxious so asking these basic questions about life tends to uh. make us all nervous. and i don’t do much with my life so i always have the most boring answers anyways.
i’m not tagging anyone officially bc the @ thing has just completely given up on me at this point, but if you want to do it, go for it. and then say i tagged you so i can read it c:
