Hi bubbles! Absolutely love your st fics, can you write a little something about how they would react/take care of reader who's in (some) pain of some sort? (no pressure you can just ignore this)❤️❤️❤️
Hello, gorgeous. Thank you for being a part of our crew. 🫧✨ I will base it on my migraines
Vessel
Would hate it just like they all would. Seeing a person you love in pain is never easy. He tries to ensure that you find comfort in the smallest ways. “What else can I do?”, he would ask softly after running through the whole usual routine. Wanting to know that he was doing it all. “Just lay with me”, you would mutter, pulling the side of the blanket up. Vessel wouldn’t hesitate even for a moment, carefully climbing behind you.
“Should I give you a shoulder massage? Might help relieve the pain slightly?”, he asks making you hum. Slowly helping you sit down before your back is pressed against his chest. He lets you lean on him like that for a bit. Not wanting to disturb your comfortable position. Slowly reaching up to brush his fingers down the back of your neck. A light hiss slips past your lips, “That’s the spot huh”, he asks repeating the motion.
ii
Ever since you told him he had the meds you usually use on him all the time. Aware that not everything worked and that you had been a victim of forgetting your medication, ii now made sure that never happened again.
You’re driving home after having dinner with the boys. Leaving early since the sharp pain had made me practically cry out in pain. ii had watched you trying to play it down. “I can stay for a couple more hours, love”, you had promised him, cupping his cheek lovingly. “We’re going home”, and it wasn’t a suggestion. It was a statement.
He had pulled out the already premixed packet with his teeth before handing it to you. Sneaking glance your way as he drove. Hand on your thigh, in hopes of soothing you. Your own wrapped over his, nails digging into his skin. “How are you holding up?”, ii asked glancing your way. You had been breathing way too shallow for ii’s liking. “Pull over”, you whimpered. Taking ii by surprise as he went full alert mode, “What?,” “Pull over ii”,’ and you’re already grabbing for the handle, he’s messily turning right, before you lean over, gagging.
“Not bad my ass”, ii grunt, leaning over to grab a water bottle from the back, before undoing your seatbelt. “Try to breathe”, his fingers brush over your back before he moves over to hand you the water. You pull up trembling slightly, “I will puke if I drink that”, you push at the bottle, leaning your head against the seat. “Breathe for some time and we will try”, he suggests, heart breaking watching you like this.
iii
He notices the smallest of changes. Especially if it’s a pattern-based pain like a migraine. He sees you blinking differently. The burning irritating your eyes. “Do you feel a migraine coming?”, he would ask softly, instantly lowering the sound of the TV. “Probably… been feeling so weird all day”, you grunt, putting pressure on your temples. “Should have told me”, iii huffed standing up.
“Did you drink your water?”, he shoots you a look that’s met with your guilty eyes, “I just got so busy at the office today”. “You’re lucky that you’re cute or I would be whipping your ass”, he shakes his head before disappearing into the kitchen. Not even moments later, iii is walking back, hands full.
“Onto your back you go”, he missions before, handing you a cold cap. “Yes, doctor iii”, you muse, following his lead. “Very funny”, iii shoots you thine smile, “I want this empty in 20 min”, “iii, I can’t drink all of that”, you whine at the sight of a 1l cup. “Humor me. Down that then a cracker then painkillers”, he sits on the edge of the sofa, hand instantly drawing circles onto your thighs. “Are you gonna watch me drink?”, you ask after a moment of him just looking at you. “That’s exactly what’s going to happen”, he shrugs, making you let out a slight chuckle.
Ivy
The dim lights are a dead giveaway of what has finally caught up to you. So he’s trying to be as quiet as possible as he moves across your shared apartment, only to find you with your head against the toilet bowl. “Hun”, he sighs, “you should have called”, kneeling beside you, Ivy pushes a strand of hair away from your pale face. Your eyes barely open as you look up at him. “Did you get sick?”, he asks watching as you slowly shake your head.
“Do I want to know how long you have been sitting here like this?”, he moves over as you once again shake your head. “I will lift you, okay?” You don’t answer him, simply reaching one hand to him before slumping into his chest. “I’ve got you now”, he breathes against your forehead, “Will take care of you”. And he does just that. Bringing you your meds and water. Some ginger biscuits for nausea, before climbing into bed next to you. Slowly moving his fingers through your scalp. Massaging the tender skin. Staying up all night through your restless sleep, making sure you drink your meds in needed timeframe or drink some water every time you wake up.

Empty Coffee
One thing I've been meaning to do when I found a free morning was to drink some form of coffee on an empty stomach. Coffee is a diuretic and is well-known for contributing to upset stomachs and urges to use the washroom. In my case, coffee is usually the main supplier of dairy in my diet. I thought it'd be interesting to try it on a completely empty stomach first thing in the morning.
I bought one of those pre-made/premixed types and got it from the fridge upon waking. I didn't want to straight up chug it, especially not when it was so completely cold. Yeah, it would have been fun for kink purposes, but I also wanted to enjoy the coffee. This bottled type is a treat for me. Stuff like this is pretty expensive where I live so I usually buy it as a treat for myself and I didn't want to chug it without savouring it. Didn't really matter in the end because I only got through about half of the 400mL bottle before errands and such started calling my name.
I'd downed maybe half the bottle, taking a few good gulps from the bottle and tried sloshing my stomach a bit but didn't notice much activity. I kind of gave up on the whole thing for a bit...but then my stomach started rumbling--quite loudly and it felt really squirmy...and I started feeling hungry too. That crampy, hollow, pinching feeling I usually feel in my guts after ignoring maybe 2 rounds of hunger pangs hit pretty much right away this time. Unfortunately, this was the point where errands were screaming my name and I had to give up kink-time to go do errands on my day off.
I think my stomach was still mostly asleep. It usually takes maybe 2-4 hours after waking up for my stomach to start growling from hunger on a day off (if all I'm doing is lounging around for those few hours). That morning, I think it took maybe less than 90 minutes for my stomach to start demanding food? So I think the coffee definitely kick-started my digestive tract faster than it normally would have.
I definitely want to try the coffee on an empty, barely-awake stomach again someday soon...but I thought I'd share and see if anyone else has attempted this or has suggestions or wants to somehow use this as inspiration for an RP-Ask.

What do you think was Armand’s favorite thing for Daniel to eat or drink when he was mortal? Why?
oh man, you're asking someone who has eaten quite a bit of renaissance period food so BUCKLE IN you're getting more than you bargained for with this answer.
The short answer: modern fruit, modern seasonings/meats, cold food, and olive garden style italian
Fruits: we have so many varieties of fruits that just were not available in Armand's time. The apples and pears you see at the grocery store now are distant relatives of the apples and pears that Armand would have known and I really think he'd have sat Daniel down and had him try a little bit of everything from the produce section just to see what's better and what's worse.
He'd be totally unimpressed with the fruits we pick early and ship to stores covered in wax (their flavoring pales in comparison to a fruit allowed to ripen) but enthralled by fruit which would have been totally unknown to him, like bananas or mangoes.
(also every time they walk through a store? he's stealing some grapes off a bunch or a strawberry from a pack and pushing daniel to eat it right then and there, he's one of those grubby little fruit tasting thieves)
Meats: he'd also be totally enthralled by modern meats, but not for the reason you'd think. Spice usage in the 15th century was very different from what we have now, and spicing your meat dishes to be kinda sweet/savory was the thing. The seven most common spices were: ceylon cinnamon (NOT the ground stuff you get from the store, a totally different variety), grains of paradise (a type of red pepper), hyssop (an herb), saffron, sandalwood, galingale (a relative of ginger), cubebs (another variety of pepper not at all like black pepper)
So like. Just tossing a burger on the grill and eating it as flavored by the charcoal? Throwing some black pepper on and calling it a day? Unthinkable to him!
Armand would go through the grocery store spice aisle, get one of every premixed seasoning in a jar that's available, and force Daniel to try them all. Daniel never wants a fucking burger or seasoned chicken breast again after that.
Cold Food: this one is kinda obvious, in Venice you couldn't just dig a hole and build an ice cellar so chances of Armand ever having had a frozen treat while mortal are slim. Even cold drinks just were not really a thing in the renaissance, so Daniel sipping an ice water would be just wild to him.
He'd love ice creams and gelatos and sherberts and frozen custards. They're colorful, they have strange (to him) flavors, Daniel would have to try a bite of literally every single one of the 31 flavors offered by Baskin Robbins.
Also pudding! Jello! Cheesecake, which befuddles him because it's not cheese as he knew cheese. If it's in the fridge/freezer section Armand makes Daniel get it and take it home.
Modern 'italian' food: DID YOU KNOW Olive Garden was founded in like 1982 so in my heart Armand dragged Daniel there multiple times because it's Italian themed but is nothing like the Italy he knew. Tomatoes? Not a thing in his time but they're in like 90% of the food on the menu! Alfredo sauce? Never heard of it! Deep fried ravioli bites? What in god's name is that?
Daniel tries the soup because whatever, it comes with the meal. He powers through the Tour of Italy because Armand can't comprehend lasagna or chicken parm. He downs like four glasses of different sangrias because that? Armand doesn't know what that is and he's delighted that it's similar to the mulled wines of his youth but sweeter.
By the time dessert hits our man is sweatin'. Armand doesn't understand what could be 'italian' about cheesecake (they sell jello no bake cheesecake powder at the store, what could be different about olive garden's??) so he orders a slice of that as well as the tiramisu AND a fancy espresso cocktail. It's the Copley all over again but cheaper and greasier and with Frank Sinatra blaring on the speakers.
Would you gentlemen like a frozen entree to go? NO Daniel says just as Armand says YES, PLEASE, ONE OF EACH. He's so stuffed, he's drunk, he's in hell. Armand rants all the way back to the Night Island about his mixed feelings on modern innovations in cooking, Daniel doesn't care, Daniel never wants to see a noodle again.
(they go back the next night. and the next. and then armand discovers the fact that barbecue is different depending on which state in the US you're in and he's calling for the private jet. It's their own version of Diners, Drive ins and Dives from there and today Daniel can be found in Trinity Gate, watching Guy Fieri on the TV and yelling that HE did that first, he should be getting royalties or at least financial compensation from Armand for the emotional damage eating THAT MUCH greasy food left him with)
#THE FOOD HISTORY RANT NO ONE ASKED FOR#thank u cat what a healing topic to consider#apoptoses answers#armand/daniel

2.11.
Going to chill to a friend's place. I could've bought a bottle of wine (i don't really like other (non vodka-league) alcohol than red wine) but i thought i don't wanna be that drunk (full bottle, i'm a small gal so if i drink one wine bottle that's blackout for me) so i got some premixed mohitos and hard seltzers and so on. Not very haunted academic of me, that one xd
I should start getting ready. I would like to wear a dress but i also wanna be warm and i feel really cold today for some reason, so maybe black jeans, white shirt and this gothic blouse thing on top. Or then i just change my mind and be cold in the dress. I like wearing dresses, to look like a little wandering ghost of the past.
I'm exhausted mentally but i will cheer up when i see the friend and her dog, and i can't think of the possibility that i might lose all contact to her soon, bc i'm moving out of this city. In less than 2 weeks.

Healthy Alternatives to Coffee for Pregnancy - Eliminating Caffeine for Baby
Expecting a baby is an exciting time for new mothers! The idea of being one step closer to holding your bundle of joy is a feeling like no other. Pregnancy can be challenging, especially when it comes to getting enough sleep. While reaching for a cup of coffee to power through the day may seem tempting, it's important to be aware of the associated risks of caffeine during pregnancy. According to the American Pregnancy Association, consuming caffeine during pregnancy can increase the risk of miscarriage, premature birth, low birth weight, and developmental delays in the baby. But no need to go cold turkey. In this blog, we will explore some healthy alternatives to coffee you can enjoy during pregnancy.
How Drinking Caffeine While Pregnant Can Affect Your Baby
Caffeine is a stimulant found in many beverages and foods consumed by millions of people worldwide. Although it's generally safe to drink, caffeine affects pregnant women more because they metabolize it more slowly. As a stimulant to the nervous system, caffeine can increase your blood pressure and heart rate, potentially leading to health issues for your baby. To ensure your baby's well-being, it is suggested to limit your caffeine intake to about 200 mg daily. This is roughly equivalent to one 12-ounce cup of coffee.
Beyond caffeine, coffee contains other compounds like diterpenes and chlorogenic acids that can have varying effects on the body. While these compounds are not harmful in small quantities, their effects during pregnancy are less understood, so it is best to err on the side of caution.
Best Coffee Alternatives to Try During Pregnancy
Giving up coffee during pregnancy can be challenging, so we made this helpful list of delicious coffee alternatives to drink during pregnancy and beyond. FigBrew offers a variety of caffeine-free and plant-based options that are safe and healthy alternatives to coffee for expecting mothers. The best part is they brew just like regular coffee, making them convenient substitutes that can be enjoyed hot or cold. Our fig coffee can be prepared using various methods, including French Press, drip, pour-over, and K-cups. These alternatives allow you to continue savoring the taste and aroma of coffee without the risks associated with caffeine.
For Those in Need of Some Caffeine: FigBrew Coffee Supplement or Mellow Mix
FigBrew Coffee Supplement is designed to make your favorite coffee healthier by moderating the acid and caffeine. Just replace part of your favorite coffee with our coffee supplement for a low-acid, low-caffeine version. This way, you can still enjoy the familiar taste of your favorite brew while reducing the potential risks to your pregnancy. For those looking for a premixed solution, FigBrew’s Mellow Mix offers a perfect half-caff solution. Blending our organic coffee supplement with organic coffee in a 1:1 ratio, Mellow Mix provides a smooth and rich flavor while minimizing caffeine and acid. It's an ideal choice for pregnant women seeking an alternative to coffee without sacrificing taste or quality.
For the Cold Turkey Caffeine Avoiders: Try FigBrew's Coffee Alternatives
If you prefer to cut back entirely on caffeine, our award-winning Figgee is the ultimate option. Made with pure roasted figs, it delivers a rich and robust flavor and offers plenty of health benefits, including essential vitamins and antioxidants that support your baby's development. Idk if this is a real question, but just in case it is:
Electrolytes.
Table salt in water will do, but you're better off making a proper electrolyte mix in juice.
I like this recipe, personally:
2 litres of juice
2 g of mineral salt (grey, pink, etc)
5 g salt-free potassium chloride
2 g edible Epsom salts
I find that stronger flavours work better. Cranberry, pomegranate, pineapple, etc. Green juices, apple juice and water all get a bit... unpleasantly salty.
Drink this instead of or in addition to your daily water.
Or get those premixed packets of pedialyte, liquid iv, etc to put in your water/juice. They taste better but are more expensive.
Also, as a final tip, you're probably just not eating enough in general. Adderall, caffeine and smoking all suppress the appetite hugely. As an adult human you should aim for 3,000 calories a day minimum, more if you're active. That number is BONKERS high when you take adderall, and the malnutrition sets in very slowly, until you suddenly find you are cold, tired, dizzy and nauseous all the time with no explanation. (The explanation is the eating disorder you didn't know you have)
how to I increase my blood pressure so I dont get dizzy and have to lay on the floor all the time. cigarettes?

Behold...the Portillö.
So, as I said, I didn't have a ton of time to get out the deli slicer, but I got the meat out and shaved off enough to make a small sandwich. Before anyone says anything, yes I am aware I sliced it parallel to the grain, I was on my lunch break, cut me some slack. I'll slice the rest of it properly, I promise.
[ID: The cut of chuck roast from above, cooked, cooled, and now sliced; the sliced edge of the meat shows a faint pink interior marbled with fat, while nearby there is a pile of super thin slices of beef.]
I sampled some of the meat cold; it had a nice beef flavor but seemed like otherwise the flavor was less complex than I'm accustomed to. I was about halfway through chewing and just thinking, "Well, the Malort didn't really seem to have an impact here at least" when the flavor hit. Over top of the beef there was a brief wash of anise-wormwood that made me remember every regrettable thing I've ever done while drinking Malort. Oh dear.
Unfortunately, the jus was even less subtle; it just tasted like dilute Malort, with none of the nice beef-broth flavor it normally has.
So, I took about half a cup of jus and tinkered a bit. Brown sugar made it worse; worcestershire added a nice front-load of umami but also didn't do much, and garlic barely took the edge off. Still, with garlic and worcestershire added it was palatable, and I thought it might be better in the sandwich, so I went ahead.
The process of making an italian beef at home has a couple of steps to it. Generally I put some sliced beef in a bowl, cover it with jus, and microwave that until the beef is warm; the beef goes into a crusty roll, which then gets dipped into the jus and wrapped tightly in tinfoil, then put in a toaster oven at 450F for 5-8 minutes.
The result was not...the worst thing in the world.
[ID: Two images of the sandwich; on the left, it is fresh from the oven and still cradled in tinfoil. On the right a cross-section is visible where I've obviously eaten half of it; thin-sliced beef is smooshed in a fairly flat roll.]
It still tasted mainly, if weakly, of Malort, particularly the grapefruit-pith bitterness, although it did feel like a cleaner version of it. Like if you enjoy the taste of grapefruit you might not mind it. I do not appreciate that bitterness, however -- I like my bitters mineral, not herbal -- so while I chewed thoughtfully I got on my phone and searched up ways to counterbalance or mellow out anise and wormwood flavors.
A random Reddit post suggested to someone who had put too much fennel in their stock that they might lean in with "middle eastern" spices, which gave me an idea. There's an Arabic blend called Hawaj that I use as a meat rub sometimes, containing cumin, pepper, coriander, and turmeric, among others. Normally you'd toast premixed hawaj before using but you can still get a general sense of the flavor without it, so I poured out about half a teaspoon of it onto the plate and dabbed the sandwich in it before taking a bite. Pretty damn good! The bitterness was replaced with an interesting, earthy citrus-pepper heat.
So further experiments are warranted; I'm going to take about half the jus, throw it in a saucepan, and add some toasted hawaj and worcestershire sauce, then simmer it for a bit with some roasted garlic in it and see how that comes out. If I ever do this again, I'd probably rub the meat with hawaj instead of steak seasoning and then once the meat was done, add more to the jus when it has its last simmer at the end.
Intriguing. Horrible, but intriguing.
Someone in the /r/chicagofood subreddit just posted themselves dipping an Italian beef sandwich from Portillos into Malort and of course I immediately thought of you.
This is profoundly upsetting and also I need to try it immediately.
I make my own Italian Beef. I could conceivably create a jus using Malort. Call that the Swedish Beef, or maybe just...the Portillö.

pancake & hot beverage - for both!

🥞 PANCAKE - What is their comfort breakfast?
For Dennis, generally anything that's warm and made from scratch is a comfort breakfast for him. Some meals hit better than others, like pancakes or waffles (with sausage links on the side!), but as long as it's something hot that's not premade or premixed it'll warm his heart and soul without fail.
Jaden is spoiled rotten, however, by his mother's biscuit and gravy recipe. He accepts other people's recipes, and rarely goes for any restaurant's take on the dish, but the surefire way to win him over is with the exact recipe his family uses. Nothing else will suffice.
☕️ HOT BEVERAGE - Do they prefer hot or cold drinks? What is their favorite drink?
Dennis is a year round cold drink kid. It doesn't matter if it's a brisk 40°F outside, he'll still sip on chilled sodas and lemonade because they taste good, and the only way to enjoy them is at colder temperatures. On the flip side however, he'll generally only enjoy hot drinks during the fall/winter months and rarely accepts them during the summer; Mostly because he doesn't want to intake hot substances when it's blazing outside unless he's in a well air conditioned environment. If he had to pick an absolute favorite drink of all time, he'd pick the Arizona Tea Watermelon Cocktail.
Jaden lacks a real preference in this category though and the temperature of his drink doesn't concern him unless he wants it to be one or the other. His drink choices are based entirely on what he thinks sounds good at the moment of consumption and what it's being paired with; That's it. As for a favorite drink, lemonade. Pink lemonade above all else but it has to be tarter, not sweeter.
