reminder that of all the (well over 50) characters in les miserables, only four* of the men have first names, 2 are named (french equivalent of) John, and one of those Johns, the mainest character, is named (french equivalent of) John McJohn. do not worry about your characters' names

Every writer needs to go and read some fairly decent scifi with inconsistencies and plot holes in it and calm down. Nothing takes the stress out of writing like watching KA Applegate completely forget major plot threads mid-series, of Andy Weir have someone detach the gloves of the space suit that he specified doesn't have detachable gloves last chapter, or CJ Cherryh change the laws of the Assassin's Guild once every three books, and go "these guys rule I loved those books so much." Instant stress relief, every writer should do it.

Also if you're having trouble with character names then you need to read Snow Crash and have your brain remolded by two characters named Hiro Protagonist and Yours Truly, and stop taking names so seriously.

Thoughts on shisui as a individual?

My views on Shisui are the same ones I talked about in response to this ask. Though I love him more as a person than as a character. As a person any adjective to define him would not be enough. Kind, sweet, self-sacrificial, a good leader, strong, powerful — you name it and he has all these qualities in abundance. Yes, I'm aware of him not saving his friend's life in war and awakening his MS because of it, but again, some elaboration in canon would be nice.

As a character there just isn't enough information on him because we see him through Itachi's eyes, and most of his life is shrouded in mystery. In the first part of Naruto Shisui was just a name that got killed by "evil" Itachi's hands. In Itachi's memories we find more about him, and in Itachi Shinden novels their relationship is explored better, although not enough.

That's why my opinion on Shisui is vastly a reflection of Itachi's feelings for him because he's our only source of info on Shisui. Shisui is like a tiny drop in the ocean that ends up colouring it entirely, which we know culminates in the eventual tragedies of Itachi, the Uchiha clan, and then Sasuke. He was a rock that stood in the way of giant tide of sufferings that both Itachi and Sasuke would be subjected to. He loved his village, his clan, and Itachi. His life and death were dedicated to them all. And he was too young to die. :(

There is so much more to explore on him with these things alone. Kishi needs to write more on him. You can't just have one of the most fascinating characters who was also an inspiration to one of the major characters and then have him never mentioned again.

6. Are there any fics from others you reread all the time?

You bet there are! I have downloaded my most reread ones so I can keep track of them. There's an ace attorney fic "Back from the dead" that I've read a bunch of times because I find it comforting. Then there's "A Tale of Spirits" that's an ongoing TMNT fic that I found on accident and am very invested now.

My most reread one is definitely a two-part Batman fic though, I have lost count of how many times I've read this one. It's for a rarepair that I only searched for because I was curious if it even existed and I haven't looked back since. Generally I tend to get very attached to things I find by accident lol.

At the company retreat, one extremely drunk girl asked what my pronouns were. (Eventually, it took her a while to word the question.) After the whole conversation was done, she goes- "YEAHHH GURL, Get on with--with THY bad self! See what I did?? They/them/thy."
