I actually have a question I was listening to the simonjess playlist and it seems the majority of the songs are from Simons point of view. Which songs do you view as being from Jessica? As for requests a Simon playlist would be nice or do you want a more specific request like arc/series/relationship/ect

In response to your first question... I’ve put it under the cut cause... well... I’m me 😂And I love my music. I love the idea of breaking down some of these and explaining why I added them in for Jessica. So here we go...

I believe works from her point of view. I feel that last line a lot is her. Especially as someone who also suffers from anxiety, I feel like that’s such a common thing to you know.. to find it easier to just ‘pretend’ its just friends rather then face the fear of rejection

Again. Peak feelings of someone in love who struggles with anxiety in my opinion. 

It does also work for Simon too of course, but when I put in the song I had Jess in mind more then him.

Again. Anxiety related and just in general how overwhelming it can be living in this world we are in today you know? And just having Simon be there. Being her rock and keeping her steady.

After everything Jess went through... I feel like the last thing on her mind would have been love. She’d have been more focused on just getting out of bed every morning. Trying to get through each day and navigate her new life after all that happened. Trying to find things to help her cope, getting through each second. Working on herself and figuring it all out. 

So, I feel as if the first verse is very much in relation to that. I feel like Simon would end up unconsciously flirting with her so casually a lot. And that it happens so often that he does it when they’re around other people. Simon doesn’t even think anything of it. And Jessica pretends she doesn’t see it and tells Kyle he’s crazy... (He ain’t and they both know it) But ultimately she sees it, and she feels what hes feeling too. She just needs sometime to readjust her entire world, yet again, with even entertaining the idea of having love in her life. But she wants too, and she will be there right with him.. she just needs a minute to catch her. 

Last verse, last two lines in particular... I feel that there’s no one else (that we’ve seen anyway) in Jessica’s life that could have gotten her to open up the way she has. To have gotten her to be more ok with being out in the world more. To have gotten her to a place where not only does she see herself have a future. A future where she can live in this world more then she was before Simon. Not only just that... but to a place where she can have happiness and love. Not only that... someone who thinks shes worth it. And who looks at her like she hang the stars in the night and who could take on the universe.

I've got a pocket full of dreams by Louis Armstrong has now been thrown in the start of a kyle playlist and I'm not sorry. he listens to old jazz now. So jot that down.

I 100% believe that Hal carries a wallet filled with pics of Barry and just whips it out to gush over his boyfriend at any given opportunity. It's gotten to the point that some of the other GL's can mouth the rambling perfectly

John and the Boys™ (Kyle & Guy) start a betting pool of how long it takes Hal to pull it out with new people they meet. 

Guy bets 30 seconds to which John has to agree with. As they both agree, Hal Jordan has no chill when it comes to his speedster. Especially when it comes to showing off about him. 

Kyle, being Kyle, says they have no faith in Hal. And Hal can totally show some self restraint, just you wait and watch you dicks. (Kyle bets 1 minute, cause yes those extra 30 seconds do matter!)

Anyway, Hal runs into Kilowog (who discovers about this betting pool) and asks Hal how his time on earth has been. Hows single life treating him? Which he asks, whilst shooting the Boys™ a shit eating grin watching all their faces make a series of expressions. To which, 0.10 seconds into a conversation, Hal starts raving and throwing his hands around showing various things of his boyfriend. And telling Kilowog how long he HASNT been single for and quite frankly it hurts him that Kilowog would say such a thing. As Hal thought they were friends, and Kilowog should show some respect for Hals boyfriend, Barry Allen. As thats his boyfriend, Barry Allen, the speedster. Barry Allen was Hal’s best friend for a long time. And now they’re dating. Have been for sometime now. In case Kilwog forgot again, Hal would happily remind him every day. As he could talk about Barry all day every day (not that Kilowog had noticed of course..) Anyway

Hal leaves, and Kilowog walks over to them “I don’t use your green paper poozers, so you can give me something else.”

John sighs and asks what. Kilowog says he’ll think about it, grinning. Kyle looks a bit terrified by this. Guy looks intrigued. John just looks tired.

Forever a mood!  I’ve actually had one sitting in our drafts for... quite sometime now... but someonee... *coughs* MOD ALEX *coughs* hasn’t been in the editing mood... so there it sits... one of my favourite lantern playlists i have ever created... a redlantern!guykyle playlist no less... two parts... sitting there... unappreciated and hidden away from the world.. maybe if we all remind alex how beautiful her edits are she might bless us with some playlist edits 👀👀👀👀

theres a scene in Brooklyn Nine-Nine where Jake calls Holt "dad" and then vehemently tries to deny he said it and I like to think that's Guy @ John and eventually it becomes normal for him to slip in a "Captain Dad" now and then

So the lastest issue of Morrison's run has me feeling really bad because of the last few pages and how out of character they were for Hal, I've been trying to look for Hal positive works today to help, but there aren't any. I know this is ask is a bit stupid but do you have any positive theories or headcanons about him?

Anon, i know you sent this many months ago… and I very much apologize for this. Myself nor the other mods have yet to read Morrison’s run. I attempted it and couldn’t make it through the first issue… So suffice to say, no one has been in lantern mode. Which, I’m sure many of you amazing wonderful followers have noticed. Buut. Trying to breathe some life back into this blog so why not do it right with some Hal positivity! (Which… I’m usually more angst in pain but 😅 we’ll see how we go)

Hal Jordan starts volunteering to help out kids that are stuck in the system. He does this after he comes back as Parallax. At this point in time, Hal Jordan has never met, nor heard of Barry Allen. So imagine his surprise when he finds himself smitten with one of the other long time volunteers. Also secret identity porn because i’m always a sucker for that.

Guy thought it’d be hilarious to sign Hal up on the Bachelor. Guy did not think this through when Hal ends up… well… being Hal. John thinks its childish but amusing. Kyle records every episode. 

Green Lantern prank war (this isnt primarily hal based i know… but GOD!! wouldnt it be so goddamn iconic?!? ..i may extend on this later actually hm)

Hal Jordan tries his hardest at everything. Hal Jordan doesn’t always perhaps make the smartest choices, but he always has his heart in the right place. Hal Jordan has been through all kinds of hell… but still, somehow… finds the willpower to not only continue… but to keep trying at things that many people would have given up on. Hal Jordan is one of dc’s most stubborn, dumbass characters…. but god…. if that doesn’t just make him the best. For his loyalty. For his love of his friends and family. For his commitment to sticking to his dumbass actions even when they dont pan out. For seeing it all through. For never giving up. For making us all have faith and hope.. that someday, when the world gets too much for us… that we can find the same strength in ourselves, that Hal Jordan uses every day. That we can be the hero we know he’d see in us.
