White Noise | Alessia Russo x trans-masc. OC
Word Count: 1.6k Summary: Being trans masc. can be hard but Alessia will always be there for you – also the request did say trans masc., not trans man, so I hope this is what you wanted! I’m so sorry if it isn’t😭 I can adjust it to be. Warnings: dead naming and use of wrong pronouns, not really a warning but just stating that Calum uses they/he pronouns Request for - @sky-the-trans-guy00 - i really hope this is good!
“Are you sure you don’t need me to come with you?” Alessia’s arms wrap around my waist as I brush out my hair.
“It’s just a haircut Lessi, I’ll be okay.” I turn around and look her in the eyes.
“But last time they were pieces of shit and ruined it. You ended up buzzing it and I’m sorry to break it to you, but you do not have the head shape to be bald” I give her a faux offended look but laugh.
“This place is run by a non-binary person. And most if not all their employees are trans or queer. Plus, you have training.” She groans and her head falls into my chest.
“Fine. But call me if you need anything.” I lean down to kiss her lips before ushering her out, so she isn’t late, again.
~~~~~
The haircut goes well, something only few people understand is so important to me, and I decide to visit Alessia at training. She’s been begging me to come with her for months, but I’ve been too nervous about how her teammates will be view me to ever go through with it.
I sign in with the lady in reception, who calls Lessi to take me to the locker room before they head to the gym. I rub my sweaty hands against my jeans, but Alessia slips her smaller one into my own, rubbing her thumb back and forth against the back of my hand.
“Your hair looks good.” Her blue eyes shine as she smiles up at me, reaching with her other hand to run it through the newly cut locks.
“You think? It’s not too feminine?”
“Not at all! I can’t believe you went with blue instead of red though, they’re all going to think you’re a Chelsea fan.” Alessia stands on her tippy toes to kiss me before opening a door, letting shouts and… questionable singing, ring throughout the halls.
She grabs my hand again and pulls me into the busy room. Everyone stops talking as the door slams closed again and all eyes fall onto us. I cower slightly next to Alessia, but she wraps her arm around me and says
“Girls! This is my partner I’ve been telling you about! Calum, these are the girls.”
“Yo, your hair looks fucking awesome dude!” an Irish accent is the first to break the silence between the 20+ bodies.
“I told them to go red, but they insisted blue was cooler.”
“You’re not a Chelsea fan are ya? Cause then we’ll have problems.” Lotte, the one person I did know, jokingly asks me.
“I promise it’s just my favourite colour. I’m a Gooner through and through.” A group of laughs echoes throughout the room and I chuckle with them.
“Are you joining us for gym?” Less pokes me in the side.
“No, I just wanted to come say hi. Show off my super awesome new hair.” I kiss her goodbye and am halfway out the door before another voice calls out.
“Wait! We’re having a team + partner dinner tomorrow after training. You down?” I look at Alessia then back at the room of her teammates.
“Uhh sure! Yeah I’ll be there.”
~~~~~
“What’s the dress code for this dinner?” I ask Alessia as we lay curled up in bed, neither wanting to make the move to get up as the sun slowly brightens in the sky.
“Semi-formal. You can wear that cute button up with the flower pattern I got you! It matches the dress I’m going to wear.”
“Sounds perfect.” I kiss her on the nose before groaning as I roll out from under the covers and get up.
I make us both breakfast before she leaves for training, and I take some time to myself before having a zoom meeting with my team to discuss our project.
And then I get a call from someone I hadn’t planned on hearing from ever again. I hadn’t seen or heard from my older sister in 4 years. I tended to avoid any family gatherings if I knew she’d be there and had removed her from all social media and my contacts, a call is the pinnacle of unexpected. So I leave it to ring, face down on my desk, as I look through the closet for an outfit for tonight’s dinner.
An hour or so later, Alessia rushes through the door, kicking off her shoes and dropping her bag at the door. She barrels into our room and beelines to the closet.
“Whoa what’s got you in a rush? We don’t have to leave for another 2 hours.”
“No no, I texted you. We had to move it up an hour. You didn’t see it?”
“I haven’t looked at my phone in like 3 hours I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay, but you gotta get changed. Like now.”
We both rush to get into our outfits and get out the door in time, Lessi giving up on putting on her heels as we walk to the car, opting instead to put them on when we arrive.
“I’m so excited to meet the girl’s partners and show you off. Lia’s bringing her new girlfriend she won’t stop talking about.” I just smile, taking her hand in my spare one, the other clinging to the wheel as we wait at a light.
“You look so handsome too. I told you this shirt was the go-to.”
“You look beautiful.” I park the car and race around to help her out.
We make our way into the restaurant, spotting the group from the door. We’re almost at the table when I stop abruptly in my tracks, jerking Alessia back with me. Why the fuck is she here?
“Cal? What’s wrong?” my mouth gaps open and closed but I don’t get the chance to come up with a reply.
“Bella! Oh my god what are you doing here?” I feel the colour drain from my face as my older sister pulls me into hug.
I’m frozen in place as she pulls back, a wicked smile gracing her face, and I can see everyone’s confused faces out of the corners of my eyes. There is a deadly silence that falls across the group/ My throat dries up as I try to reach for Alessia’s hand again.
“Bella? I thought his name was Calum?” Caitlin’s the first to speak up.
“Oh no her name is Bella. Calum is just a weird person she plays for attention.” That’s my breaking point.
“Oh, fuck off Tahlia! You’d think four years would be enough time for you to grow up. You’re still the piece of shit you always have been.” I hear some gasps, but no one makes a move to stop me.
“I’ve always been Calum; I’ve just had to pretend not to be because of miserable fucks like you who can’t fathom people being who they truly are. Just because your life isn’t working out doesn’t mean you get to ruin mine again.” A tear pricks at the corner of my eye.
“Non-binary isn’t even a fucking thing! And they/them is fucking stupid you’re not multiple people.”
“It’s good to know you wouldn’t be able to pass a first grade English test. You never were that smart.” Tahlia’s fist comes swinging but a hand that most certainly isn’t my own stops it right before it hits me.
“You need to leave, and never come back. Never talk to Calum or any of us ever again.” Katie shoves Tahlia towards the door and she stomps her foot, looking at Lia expectantly.
“You’re just going to let them talk to me like that!?”
“Uhh, yeah. I think I will.” She stomps her foot again before turning and running out.
I let out a sigh and my shoulders sag in relief. Alessia pulls me to sit down at the table between her and Katie’s girlfriend.
“Are you ok?” I nod, leaning my head on top of her own as the others take their seats again.
“That was fucking wild.”
“I’m so sorry Calum. I had no clue she was your sister, or that she was insane.” Lia gives me an apologetic look, but I smile reassuringly at her.
“It’s not your fault, she’s a good manipulator, always has been. She’ll tell you what you want to hear to get close then show her true colours.”
“Hey, you don’t have to answer this but how do you identify? Because I’ve been calling you dude a lot.” I chuckle at Manu before answering.
“I’m non-binary trans masc., they/he pronouns. I don’t mind being called dude of whatever, just absolutely no feminine terms please.” Everyone nods in agreement, and it doesn’t take long for conversation to continue on between everyone.
I’m talking to Katie’s girlfriend, the owner of a small book café, when Alessia tugs on my sleeve. I excuse myself before turning to her, the overhead lights reflecting in her stormy blue eyes and making her freckles prominent.
“I’m so proud of you.” I kiss her softly.
“I love you.”
“Hey hey! No smooching at the dinner table please.” Everyone laughs and I flush red.
~~~~~
A week later I find myself in the Coloney changing room again, surrounded by sweaty bodies preparing for gym once again.
Instead of leaving as they slowly trickle out, I follow behind Alessia. It takes five minutes for me to start being teased by Katie for blushing as I watch Lessi work out, her biceps very prominent as she lifts the weights.
It takes me another five minutes to swiftly walk over to Alessia after she finally drops the weights, and kiss her passionately, before swiftly exiting, blush burning my cheeks. It may take a completely new hair colour to persuade me to make an appearance at training again.
tuesday
“Y/N got help, Calum, with the dishes.” Your mom nods toward the kitchen as she cleans off the dining table. You hum a response, grabbing your plate before you make your way into the kitchen.
“I’ve come to the rescue.” Calum chuckles at your words, glancing in your direction with a smile. “My savior”
You smile, setting your dishes in the sink. “You can go ahead and start drying them, love.” you nod, taking a dish cloth and drying the clean culturally, the metal cool in your hands.
You stand in silence for a moment. It’s not uncomfortable, but something indescribable builds in the air between you two. He can sense that you’re thinking about something. His hip nudges yours as his hands scrub pasta sauce off of a plate, his arms flexing as the veins in his hand become more propionate. “What are you thinking about? I can partly hear the wheels in your head turn.”
It’s a simple question, but you can feel your skin heat up and your core throb as you press your legs together.
I’m thinking of you. You bending me over the countertop as your wet hands kneed my skin. Calloused fingertips pushing past the hem of my panties with ease. The feeling of your five-o’clock shadow against my inner thigh. Fucking into me, hot and slow.
You shake your head, shrugging, and bite back a smile, “Nothing.”
The house is quiet as you move through it. Cold hardwood pressing to the balls of your feet, soon met with concrete as you walk outside. The moon cast a bright glow on your skin, filling you with calm and energy as you walked towards the pool.
Tossing your towel onto one of the pool chairs, you strip the clothes from your body. Nipples pebble, goosebumps spreading along your skin as you step into the water. You hummed, letting the warm water consume you as you lazily swam through it.
You heard the deck door open and shut up with a loud click. You quickly swam to the pool’s edge, trying to hide your bare body as you blinked the water from your eyes, the figure still blurry in the distance.
“What are you doing out here? It’s one in the morning.” Cal’s voice settles familiar in your ears, causing a wave of embarrassment mixed with euphoria down your spine.
“Just a late night swim,” You rest your chin against the edge of the pool, concert rough against the skin.
He cocks his brow, sitting on the edge of one of the pool chairs. “You always were a weirdo.” He shakes his head, tapping his pack of cigarettes against his thigh before pulling one out and placing it between his lips. “But you love me.” You smile, pushing yourself off the edge of the pool.
“Could you throw me the towel?” He tosses it to you before cupping his hand to cover the cig as he lights it, the small flame casting a warm glow onto his skin.
You say a small thank you, grabbing the towel as you make your way to the steps of the pool, wrapping it around you as you make your way out of the water. You wrap the towel tighter around your bare body, fully realizing the situation that you’re in. Naked. In front of the guy, you’ve been in love with your whole life.
He takes a long drag off his cigarette, dark eyes landing on yours. You clear your throat, skin prickling with heat under his gaze. “Can I have one?”
“You?” he chuckles, smoke slipping between his lips. “Have you ever even smoked before?”
You shift in your seat, the cold plastic sticking slightly to your wet thighs. “No, but what does that matter? God, stop acting like my brother.” You shove his arm gently, biting back a smile.
He laughs gently. “Sorry, sorry.” taking another drag. “Why don’t you shotgun it first?”
“Okay.” your words are quite as Calum moves next to you, warmth radiating off his body as he takes another long pull off the cig, letting it settle in his chest for a moment before he cups your face. Calloused hands on your skin, making your hair stand on edge. Your lips part as smoke slips past Calum’s, the queue for you to slowly inhale.
The warmth of his body, mixed with the unfamiliar menthol feeling, makes you feel light-headed. Your arms wrap around Calum’s neck, closing the gap between your bodies. “Y/N..” he breathes out before you connect your lips. It’s soft and hesitant until he slowly melts into you. Strong arms wrapping around your waist, pulling you even closer.
He tastes like smoke and mint, consuming all your senses as your hand slips up his shirt. He quickly pulls away, breath hitched and lips slightly plump from friction. “Y/N, I, we… We can’t do this. I’m sorry.”
He stands quickly, shaky hands stubbing out the cig. His mouth opens, trying to find the right thing to say, but nothing comes out. He briefly looks at you, eyes dark, before walking back into the house.
The familiar click of the deck door settled the reality of it all. You’re an idiot, and he doesn’t feel the same.
SOMEBODY ELSE !
— chapter 16. found out.
a/n — ooh boy
series masterlist. | previous / next
written portion below. —
it wasn't long after you sent the text that ao'nung showed up at your door, confusion clearly written across his face. his hair was messy, red pajama bottoms still worn, an old baseball tee covering his top.
you ignored his disheveled (and really attractive) appearance, remembering why you invited him over. you didn't bother inviting him inside, pissed at the idea that he would keep neteyam's apology from you. "who was at the door that night?"
ao'nung's eyes widened for a split second, before quickly recovering. "it wasn't any-"
"don't fucking lie to me!" you snapped, catching him off guard again. "tell me the truth, ao'nung."
he gulped, refusing to meet your eye. "neteyam was there," he paused, and for a moment you thought he wouldn't say anything else before he met your gaze, dropping his shoulders and rubbing a hand over his face. "he was there to apologize to you."
"why would you lie?" you sighed, exasperated, leaning against the doorway with your arms crossed.
"i don't really know, honestly," ao'nung admitted, his breath hitching for a moment. "i was jealous, i guess."
"you were jealous?" you questioned condescendingly, the boy cowering underneath your gaze. "you were jealous, so you figured you would just try and ruin a friendship between me and a guy i've known since i was 12?"
"he said those things about me, don't forget that!"
"i'm not taking that away from you!" you roared back, anger only rising when he raised his voice at you. "i get you're mad too, eywa, you have a right to be. he said shit about you, granted he chose to believe the wrong person, but he said it nevertheless. but you and me both know he did it out of caution for me, and i defended you anyways. i ignored him for over a week, only to find out just now he was trying to apologize this whole time just because you decided to keep it from me."
he was only quiet throughout your whole lecture, knowing you were right. ao'nung could've gave less of a shit about neteyam saying things about him, he just hated how close the two of you were, especially knowing how you felt about neteyam. he opened his mouth, knowing he was only digging a deeper hole for himself that he definitely wouldn't be able to drag himself out of, but you deserved nothing but the truth at this point. "i'm sorry, i'm so sorry y/n. it's just- i was being irrational. i know how you felt about him, so i kept it from you hoping you'd just move on-"
"do you realize how fucking dumb that sounds?" you cut him off, steam practically blowing out of your ears. "feelings or not for neteyam, he's still my best friend. you don't get to decide shit for me," you argued, standing straight up now. "just get out of here ao'nung, before you make things worse."
you didn't give him a chance to reply before shutting the door on him.
FUN FACTS !
— tsireya heard what happened and is fully ready to kick her brother's ass
— kiri knew something was wrong, it wasn't like neteyam to go that long without apologizing
— neteyam fell out of his bed when y/n texted him
corruption - l.r.h
requested: nope. thinking of this as i’m listening to music :)
cw: SMUT. oral (f), fingering, rough sex, choking, unprotected, mentions of alcohol, dom!luke, i’m a slut for luke hemmings
———
“oh come on y/n, you’re telling me that you’ve never had anything interesting happen during sex?” crystal asked. i nodded my head. we were all sitting around in luke’s living room, some of us already drunk, some of us just buzzed. i was one of the only people in the group that was single, besides luke.
“i didn’t know there were interesting things when it came to sex until like two days ago, crystal. and we all know i constantly get ghosted whenever i try and get a date.” i rambled. i looked over at luke who was across the living room. he was slightly smirking as he listened to me.
“y/n, you’re 26. genuine question that’s gonna be real tmi. has a guy ever made you cum?” brandy asked. calum’s eyes widened at her question, but he wanted to know the answer too. everyone looked to me, waiting for my response.
“well i mean.. not exactly? when ever they’d get done they’d usually leave and i’d get myself off i guess.” i said, looking down. i picked at my nails, feeling slightly embarrassed. talking about this in front of my friends was a little embarrassing, but especially because luke kept watching me.
it’d be a lie if i said that i wasn’t attracted to luke. and it would also be a lie if i said i didn’t have a massive crush on him for the past few years. or maybe since we met. at sixteen.
“oh my god. are you serious?” michael questioned. i nodded my head, not wanting to look up at anyone. i bounced my leg, trying to calm myself down.
“okay y/n, let’s get you a drink. calm down those nerves, yeah?” crystal said, standing and grabbing my hand to get a drink. she pulled me to the kitchen, making sure we were alone.
“i’m not supposed to say anything, but i swear on my life, luke has been eyeing you this whole time. michael told me the other day that luke has been crushing on you for the longest time.” she spoke. my eyes almost fell out of my head from how wide they were.
“you’re serious?” i asked. she nodded her head. “dead serious.”
i glanced around the corner seeing that luke was still watching for me. my stomach did flips seeing him. i grabbed a drink from the fridge, popping it open and taking a large sip.
once crystal and i were back in the living room, luke’s eyes went back to being glued to me. “i’ll be right back guys, im gonna get changed.” i spoke up. everyone gave an ‘okay’ as i walked up the stairs. i went to luke’s room where i had left my overnight bag.
i closed the door before slipping out of my jeans and t-shirt. i unclasped my bra, letting it fall to the ground. i threw on my large shirt i used for pj’s, and slid on a pair of shorts. i headed back down the stairs, sitting back down on the couch. crystal handed me a drink, and i thanked her as i grabbed it.
we all sat there and talked for another few hours before everyone decided it was time to head home. i headed upstairs, grabbing my bag from luke’s room, and headed to his guest room.
“i’m gonna head to bed, goodnight luke!” i called from the door before closing it. i was too caught up in getting comfortable that i didn’t realize he hadn’t answered me.
i slid my shorts off, leaving me in my black panties and large t-shirt. i got on the bed, laying on my stomach. i scrolled through my phone, before stopping on a fan account of luke. i scrolled through the photos, squeezing my legs together.
“alright there?” luke’s voice scared me. i scrambled to sit up, covering my lower half with my t shirt. i clutched onto my phone, turning it off.
“oh don’t get all shy now, y/n. you’ve been showing yourself off, talking about nothing but your sex life all night. now i come in here seeing that you’re practically drooling over pictures of me.” he spoke, getting closer to me.
i swallowed hard, pushing my phone away from me. “i don’t know what you’re talking about, luke.” i played dumb. he laughed, shaking his head at me.
“don’t act like you’re all innocent there. if i hadn’t spoken up you would’ve started touching yourself. such a dirty slut.” he teased, crawling onto the bed, towering over me.
my breath hitched, and my thighs were dripping with my arousal. “i still don’t know what you mean.” i pushed. i don’t know where this confidence was coming from, but i could tell he was trying hard not to pin me down from my lies.
“you wanna be a brat? act like you don’t want me to fuck you? thats just fine darling. you can get yourself off alone, never getting what you wanted.” he spoke lowly. he was inches away from my face. i took a deep breathe, awaiting what he was going to do next.
he lowered his head to my neck, biting and licking at my skin. i let out a soft moan, making him smirk as he left marks on me. “i don’t want to hear another noise out of your mouth unless you’re gonna be a good girl.”
“i’ll be good, want to be good for you.” i whined. he smirked, lifting my shirt over my head. the smallest things he did made me wetter by the minute. i’d never felt this way with any other partner i’ve had.
he trailed his hands up and down my body, squeezing my thighs. he found his way to my clothed heat, running his fingers softly up and down. “so wet for me, yet i’ve hardly touched you. tell me what you want, sweetheart.” i gasped at his touch, moving my hips forward.
“anything, do anything to me, please, just touch me luke.” i begged. he chuckled at my need, slipping my panties down my legs and throwing them to the side. he kissed down my thighs, licking a stripe up my pussy.
i let out a groan, wanting more. my hands made their way to his curls, pulling slightly. he moaned at the feeling while his tongue attacked my clit. “fuck, luke, feels so good, never felt this good.” i breathed, my legs already shaking.
without warning, he slid a finger in, pumping in and out of me as he licked at me. i let out a loud moan, clenching around his finger. he slid another in, curling his fingers up.
“oh shit, luke! gotta cumbaby, please, luke, make me cum!” i begged, my thighs shaking harder. “cum for me good girl, wanna taste you.” he praised.
he continued curling his fingers, lapping away at my pussy. i pulled his hair, letting myself cum on his fingers. i squeezed my thighs, slightly trapping him as he kept going.
i arched my back, feeling overwhelmed with pleasure. “f-fuck! oh god, gonna cum again!” i cried. he moaned into my heat, sending me over the edge.
he pulled away once i calmed down, sucking my juices off his fingers. he brought his lips to mine, allowing me to taste myself on his tongue.
“did so good baby, now you can say you’ve cum having sex.” he teased. i blushed at his words. “i want more of you, lu, please.” i asked.
he threw his head back at the sight of me being spread out for him. he threw his shirt off and quickly slid his pants off. i watched as he grabbed hold of his cock, pumping it a few times.
“get on your hands and your knees, pretty girl.” he directed. i did as told, lifting my ass in the air. he slid his tip in, causing me to moan at the brief feeling. he pulled back before shoving his cock fully inside. i let out a yell as he steadied himself.
i buried my face into the pillows, screaming as he pounded into me. he grabbed my hair, pulling my face up. “don’t hide those pretty moans baby. want everyone to know who’s making you feel this fuckin good.” he said as he lifted me so his chest was pressed to my back.
my head fell back onto his shoulder, gasping as he hit my g spot. his hand traveled to my throat, squeezing tightly. my eyes rolled back as i let out strangled moans.
“luke! ugh, fuck! love your cock, never want anything else!” i cried, tears falling down my cheeks. he grunted as i kissed his neck.
“i’ve wanted you, fuck, for so long, y/n, never letting you go, you’re mine.” he growled, holding onto me as he fucked into me.
i clenched myself around him, moaning at how deep he was. he moaned at the feeling, smacking my ass from the side. “gonna make me cum if you keep doing that.” he groaned.
he pressed his hand against my stomach, feeling his cock deep inside me. “feel that baby? feel my cock bulging into your stomach?” he asked, keeping his rough pace. i nodded my head, gasping for air as he fucked me.
i clenched around him again, this time not being able to stop it. “lu, gonna cum again, wanna cum on your cock.” i yelped, feeling his cock twitch at my words.
“fuck baby, go on, cum for me.” he said, holding my hips as he continued to pound into me. a scream ripped from my throat as i came, my body convulsing as he held me close.
“gonna cum baby, where you want me to-” i cut him off before he could continue. “in me, need you in me, wanna feel your cum deep in my pussy. on birth control already.” i gasped.
“fuck, such a cum slut.” he said, releasing into my pussy. i felt the hot liquid fill me up, making me moan. luke pulled out of me, leading me down to the bed.
“just one second darling.” he spoke before leaving the room. he returned with a warm wash cloth, cleaning me up. my body was still shaking, and i could feel my heart pounding.
he returned to the bed, laying with me, pulling me close. “enjoy yourself, love?” he questioned. i nodded, whimpering.
“didn’t hurt you did i?” he asked, worried. i shook my head, looking up at him. “you’ve really wanted me for a while?” i asked, hoping he meant it. he nodded, squeezing me.
“i’ve loved you since we met. wanted you for the longest time. and now im never letting you go.”
i sighed with contentment, falling asleep in his grip.
Can you do Lady Lesso with prompt 12?
Sure, anon! Thank you for the request!! I took this opportunity to write some more Soft!Lesso 🥰 So, here’s some lovely fluff of Lesso and Girlfriend!Reader for you! 💞
Birthday Comfort ~Soft!Leonora Lesso xFem Girfriend!Teacher!Reader
Mommy… Masterlist
Requests & Prompt-List
#12. “Oh my... I’m... uh... speechless”
Warnings: fluffy fluff fluff, implied anxiety, birthday anxiety, bad birthday experiences, little angst, crying, kissing, hugging, comforting, etc.
Enjoy (:
The more you got to know Leonora Lesso, the more you found out all the things she hated.
Parties, disruptive students, tickles, pda, and the list goes on and on…
But out of all the things that Lesso disliked, her birthday was by far the worst.
“Wait what…? What’s wrong with your birthday?” You quizzically asked the red head, when she had confessed her distain for the special day.
Leonora huffed, taking a moment to set her half graded papers aside.
“I just never had good experiences with that day.” She confessed, “My parents often made it a big deal, as way to manipulate me. Then when I came to the school, I was afraid to tell people. No one asked, no one knew… It’s just a reminder to me of how lonely it was.”
“Oh Leo… I’m so sorry…” you comforted the red head.
Her words made your heart ache for your girlfriend. And by her tone, you could tell it was a touchy subject, so you didn’t push it any further than that.
However, you did resolve that day, that you were going to do something about her not having any good experiences on her birthday…
~~~
A couple months later, the dreaded day finally arrived…
Lesso woke up with a splitting headache. She winced in pain, getting up and getting herself some advil. She popped two little pills in her mouth and then made her way to her closet to get dressed.
Leonora knew since she lay in bed and her eyes had squinted open, what today was. She just did what she always did. Ignored her birthday. It was for the best, she always told herself.
Before she could enter her closet, you came knocking at her door. Lesso sighed at the distraction, but she had to admit, you as a distraction wasn’t too bad. The red head opened the door to you, letting you into her private quarters.
“Morning!” You chirped, giving Leonora a peck on the lips.
The woman blushed ever so slightly at the physical display of affection. She then grumbled a ‘morning’ back to you, before slowly going back to her previous efforts of getting her clothes for the day. She winced in pain once more.
“Headache…?” You immediately offered in comfort, knowing that look of pain on the red head well.
The woman nodded. As she stood at the door to the closet, Lesso couldn’t help but notice your apparent giddy and excited nature this morning. Your eyes were wide, you were bouncing on your heels, and you were nervously biting you lips.
“What’s up with you?” Lesso chuckled in light amusement, but also with a tone of skepticism.
“Ohh nothing…” you teased her with anticipation, trying to stifle your need to erupt in giggles and smiles, “How about you open your closet…?”
Lesso quirked her brow and then simply opened the door. She looked around for anything that might be out of place. Everything seemed untouched… Except for a one, black and brown, classy box, sitting on the middle of the closet floor.
“What’s this…?” Leonora asked, picking the box up and turning around to look at you quizzically.
“Your birthday present from me” you quipped with a light and happy shrug.
Lesso took a minute to process your words. She stared down at the wrapped gift box.
“I wanted to get you something… Please just open it…?” You explained in a softer voice.
She then nodded without words and began to open the box. Her hand slipped off the brown bow on the elegant black box, and she then opened the lid. The red head placed the box on her desk, then picking up the piece of clothing and holding it out in front of her, in order to get a look at it.
“Oh my…” A small gasp escaped Leonora’s lips as she stared at the fine, tailored trench coat in her hands. She placed it back in its box and said nothing. Her back was now faced to you, making you a little nervous as to what she thought about it.
“So… what do you think…?” You quietly asked.
After a minute, Leonora turned around. Her eyes were glossy as they met your gaze.
“…I’m... uh... speechless…” the redhead stammered.
A tear escaped her eye. You came up close to Leonora, taking her hands in your own.
“I just wanted you to have something nice, a good memory for your birthday…” you whispered.
More tears started to flow down the woman’s cheeks.
“Thank you…” she whispered.
Your own eyes started to tear up now.
“Of course.” You whispered back, tucking a stray strand of your girlfriends hair behind her ear.
Without warning, Leonora took you into a full embrace. For a second, you were shocked, but you quickly thawed out of alarm and snuggled yourself into the red head’s form.
“I love it…” Lesso confessed.
“I love you…” you responded.
“Love you too…” she whispered in response.

"Y/n? Where are you going?"
I stop dead in my tracks, not bothering to turn to look him in his eyes. Oh his eyes, how every speck of blue reminded me of the world around us. A part of me wasn't even sure if I wanted to turn around as see the look on his face once he realizes who's hoodie I was wearing.
"I was stepping out to get some air", The words come out faster than I hoped for. I hold my breath every second it takes for him to respond.
"Bullshit", he starts, his footsteps leaving a creek in the floorboards beneath us. "Fucking look at me", his hand wraps around my wrist gently, and yet it's enough for me to start shaking. I turn painfully slow, my eyes adverting from the floor to his feet.
"Why are you wearing Calum's hoodie", the words come out breathlessly from his lips- he had just noticed. His voice was pleading, almost like he didn't want to believe what he was seeing. Surely it was just a coincidence. A coincidence that merely started with Calum confessing his deeply rooted attraction to me two years ago , one that I laughed off. A coincidence that he never laughed in return and instead slammed his chapped lips on mine and I didn't dare pull away. His husk voice in my ear telling me how bad he's been waiting for this to happen.
Just a coincidence.
"He let me borrow it and I've been meaning to return it any day now." Lie. I finally meet his gaze, the light from the hallway upstairs barely illuminated the both of us. I could hear Petunia upstairs snoring and the sound of the washer chirping as it began finishing its cycle.
He runs his hands through his curls, one lone piece stuck to his glistening forehead from sweat and I wanted nothing more than to lean up and fix it. To lean up and brush my hands against his cheek, feeling his stubble and have him smiling under me as I tell him it's all pretend.
"Well why are you wearing it right now?", His hands almost immediately went back up to his hair, tugging slightly- almost hoping it was the material around my figure.
I shrug in response, my mouth wouldn't open so I settle with a mere shrug with a crooked smile.
"Take it off"
"Luke It's just a-"
"Take the hoodie off, Y/n."
I stared at him, my blood running cold through my veins all whilst my cheeks were burning. I had guilt slathered on my face and I knew he could see it in the dark.
"Okay", my voice cracked. It sounded more like a slight stutter and I faced away from him as I made my way past him towards the stairs. His grip tightened around my wrist slightly and I didn't dare face him.
"What? You want me to take it off right here?", I laugh, almost pathetically as I stare up at his cold gaze. He doesn't blink, he doesn't dare move and inch and I ultimately sigh in repose.
I knew what he was asking me to do.
It took 47 seconds for my hands to shakily reach the hem of the sweatshirt, 47 seconds of pure agony as I slowly lift the sweater from my body and dropped it in his hands. My phone laid tucked away in the front pocket of the material now in Luke's grip, vibrating from a call he didn't need to check to confirm who it was.
He blinked, I blinked and his dark eyes slowly traveled down my body. The red velvet wrapped around my body, clingy to my sides and thighs. I didn't dare meet his eye, I felt like a child. A child who got caught sneaking out- only this time it was worse.
"I bought you that set", was all he could make out past his lips. I looked down at the expensive material and puffed my cheeks out in return. He had bought me it on our fourth anniversary- claiming red looked best on me.
Calum agreed.
He cleared his throat before fumbling with the green hoodie in his hand, pulling out my phone and raising it up to his face and then to mine. His hands were shaking and I almost couldn't make out what I was searching for on my lock screen.
2:17AM
Calum had called four times and texted double that, his number not quite saved in my phone but Luke didn't need a Caller ID. We both didn't say anything, I stood in the living room with the front door still cracked ajar, my body littered with goosebumps from the November air and my attire wasn't any help. The front door alarm began beeping- the same time Calum's fifth phone call came through at the base of Luke's palm.
"Answer the phone",
His voice is louder now, not a hushed whisper in the dead of the night like before yet not filled with anger either- no no it was something else.
Sadness
Our hands meet for the first time in over 48 hours and I could see the goosebumps rise up his arms. Grasping my phone from his hand, I slid my finger slowly to the right and bring the phone up to my ear.
"Put it on speaker"
For once, I have nothing to say. Unlike all the arguments we've had before where I'd shoot a snarky remark or barked back.
It usually ended with him calling me a bitch.
And me ending up tangled in Calum's sheets.
"Hello?", My voice is small, almost too quiet to hear but I could hear Calum breathing on the other line.
"Y/n? Where are you? I've been waiting for over ten-", He begins, his voice mixed with desperation and worry. I can see Luke's body tense almost immediately.
"Calum", I start, my eyes looking up at Luke's tear filled ones and I don't dare look away- not this time.
"Luke knows"

you should’ve expected it, from the moment he stepped out the door and got on that plane. you should’ve known better.
he was going to do it, it was only a matter of time before the evidence got back to you. it was just a waiting game for you. would he keep his promise?
no. he doesn’t care.
that morning you woke up, like usual, nothing was out of the ordinary. you got out of bed, made it, and took duke outside to do his business. everything was going normally. until it wasn’t.
you finished breakfast, put away the dirty dishes, and decided to take a scroll on your phone. your boyfriend's tour was coming to an end and it had been one beautiful tour. he seemed to be having the time of his life, and he was even happier it seemed. and it made you feel better about your relationship. you thought, for just a second, that maybe, just maybe, he kept his word.
but when you got the notification from sierra your heart sank. the pictures and the videos of calum at a bar with another girl. his arm slung around her waist as he kisses her, his hand on her jaw. it made you feel sick to your stomach, looking at the photos. sierras message ended with ‘im sorry, hun.’ you felt the tears swelling in your eyes and the aching in your chest had returned.
how could he do this to you?
“hey babe” calum enters the house, walks to you and presses a kiss on your cheek. he noticed you didn’t acknowledge him, so as he was setting his bags down he turned to you. “is everything okay?” you laid your phone down on the counter and slid it over to him. “i don’t know, is it?” you asked, your voice stung like venom. calum looks down at the phone which revealed an article that read: “calum hood spotted with mystery girl at a london nightclub. what happened with his girlfriend? or now, ex-girlfriend’
you saw his expression sour, pushing the phone back towards you. “so?” you asked again. he had no answer, and you saw the gears turning in his head trying to come up with another excuse. “i’m sorry.”
that’s all he had to say? after everything? everything you’ve done for him. all the sacrifices you made just to be with him. that’s all? "don't apologize if you are just going to keep doing this shit, apologize when you're actually going to change because im tired of having my hopes crushed every time" you were livid, your chest burned with anger. even looking at him made your feel sick. calum tan his fingers through his hair, huffing quietly. “if you would ever go on tour with us, this would never happen.” "oh, so i'm the one at fault?" "that's not what i'm saying-" "well, it jolly well sure sounds like it!"
“I don't want to do this with you." "that's what you always say whenever I'm trying to talk some sense into you." you rubbed your temples. talking was him wasn’t always this hard, in the beginning, he was the most caring person but as time went on he grew distant. “i’ve given you my life, calum. i made sacrifices for us to be together. i dropped everything just to be with you, you choose to do this to me? after everything?”
you heard a groan come from his side followed by yet another huff. this wasn’t the first time calum had cheated on you, and you should’ve known it wouldn’t be the last time either but you chose to talk it out and overcome the pain and suffering. you thought it had worked, but obviously, it didn’t. “i never asked you to do anything of that either, y/n. you chose to put your life on hold because of me. i didn’t”
“and you never stopped me!” you yelled, throwing your hands up in the air. “what do you want from me, calum? am i not good enough for you anymore? what am i doing wrong, please just tell me!” by this point, you were starting to break. tears welled in your eyes and your face flushed red. “it isn’t you.” he stated matter-a-factly. you couldn’t help but laugh at his response. “it isn’t me?” you repeated, and once again pushed your phone towards him. “the evidence proves otherwise cal.”
calum knew he was hurting you, he knew he put you through hell and back and that you didn’t deserve it. there was no excuse for what he did to you, he just never wanted to face the truth. “you never change do you, calum? you never fucking change.” you snatched your phone away from the counter, and looked at him one last time. “i’ve had enough, calum. i’m done. i can’t believe i loved you” you pointed in his face, and maybe it came out harsher than expected but at that point, you were so tired.
his eyes shot up at the word ‘loved’ it made his heart stop. surely he heard that wrong, right? “loved?” he asked, following you into the hallway where you were heading but you didn’t respond. you entered the shared bedroom “i’ve been pretending to love you for a long time, calum.” he saw the bags sitting atop the bed. two duffel bags and a large suitcase, “what do you mean?”
a dry chuckle left your throat, “i mean, i’ve been faking it since the first time you done this, i thought for a while that you had changed but obviously you didn’t. and frankly i’m tired of waiting time hoping you’d come around.” you grab a few of the bags ready to head out the door as your friend had texted you that she was on her way. “calum, i did love you. i loved you for years, and maybe we were meant to be together but i can trust you when you go out and get with these other girls. i’m sorry”. you pressed the softest kiss on his cheek.
“don’t come looking for me, just focus on yourself, calum.”
you saw the tears in his eyes, he was guilty and regretful for what he has done to you. “i’m sorry.” you nod, “i know you are.”

Birthday, debut. Part II.
Part one
idol!skz word count: 2,1k. many curses! jealous hyunjin. protagonist gets scolded many times (middle child shit). fluff, angst.
As I walked to the kitchen to grab something to eat before rushing out to the location I was going to debut, I saw the kitchen and living room filled up to the top with pink balloons all over.
“The fuck?" I whispered to myself while walking in slow motion through the place.
“HAPPY DEBUT!" The other eight members were waiting for me with a gigantic cake on the counter.
You could see a gigantic sign strikethrough attached to the curtain that you could read 'happy birthday' and a handwritten 'debut' under the 'birthday'. That was clearly Minho.
"Guys!" I laughed. "Why are y'all spoiling me so much?" I made my way to them, hugging them one by one.
"Because you're our girl! And we are excited for you." Jisung said this while hugging me by the shoulders.
"In my defense, I was forced to," Seungmin joked, with a big smile on his face and his arms wide open, waiting for me to feel the warmth of his body.
"Yeah, he's saying that like he wasn't the one who inflated the balloons." Chan teased him.
"I was just doing a favor. Y'all have weak ass lungs." The young one teased back, winning a punch from Minho.
"That's mean." I said while hugging him.
"He is mean." Jeongin added to my statement, "Stay think Lee Know Hyung is mean, just because they don't know about the real firece from Skz."
"Nah." I said while pulling away from the main vocalist. "The firece one is actually me. I'm the girl living with eight men."
"Not as if we were that bad," the maknae laughed while welcoming me into his arms.
"You're right, it could be worse."
"Yeah, imagine living with those friends of yours." Hyunjin said, making reference to the 5SOS guys.
"That was actually uncalled for." I rolled my eyes while smiling. "I actually don't think they're that disgusting."
"No, we know you don't think that." Chan added with a smirk on his face.
"How's Calum doing?" Obviously, it was Seuingmin who addressed the elephant in the room.
"I actually don't know; thank you, Seungmin." I rolled my eyes as I hugged the rest as a thank you for the detail in celebrating the debut.
"Oh, but you received a call like ten minutes ago, honey," Hyunjin said again.
"She did?" I heard Minho's voice, not so sleepy this time.
"Yeah, she did." Felix was watching my every movement and scanning my features to see my reactions.
"Yeah, Luke called." I avoided every look in my way. "Actually, it was Luke's phone, but in the call, I spoke with him, Ash, and Mike." I nodded while I was looking through the things in the kitchen cupboard to make some coffee.
"Here." Minho stopped me and gave me a mug with coffee.
"Thank you." I gave him a soft smile.
"They're here" Hyunjin didn't even look at me; he was talking straight to Felix.
"Oh, alright." Felix spoke while thinking hard.
"Calum is not? Dang it, I really liked the guy."Seungmin teased, and, again, he won a punch from Minho. "Hyung, you're hitting hard," he said, rubbing his stomach.
"It will be harder if you don't shut the fuck up when you need to." The older one flashed a smile and looked back at me, inversed in the conversation like the rest of the boys.
"It's alright," Chan said after a while. "Just remember, you're our member. Don't get lost with them again."
"Yeah, I know that." I agreed, "Calum is not here anyway, so no need to worry about anything."
Chris looked at me incredulously.
"What?" I blinked a few times.
"You're running very late. Drink that, and we'll see you at the event. I'll talk to you later, MoonJin." He scolded me without actually scolding me.
I really don't know what that's about.
"I'll drive you; swallow all that." Minho said, hurrying me.
"If you were somebody else, I'd be turned on by that, you know." The words came out of my mouth without consent.
"OH GOD!" Jisung closed his eyes and covered his ears, making us laugh.
"You really are a little him, huh?" Changbin said with a disgusted face.
"I trained her well." Minho let a smirk out again. "Let's go." He slapped the cheeks of my ass slightly, hurrying me.
You think that since I'm a girl, he wouldn't slap my ass? Well, you're wrong. I get the exact same treatment as the rest.
I did what he asked me to and drank my coffee as a tequila shot.
"Let's go." I smiled and took the keys to the dorm, my bag, and my sunglasses. "Bye guys; see you in a while." I said, waving my hand to the other seven boys.
"Break a leg!" Changbin waved back.
"Be careful; I love you." Felix said
"I love you, Lix." I smiled at him "Byeee."
Minho practically dragged me out of the place to the car.
"Did you open the gift?" He asked once we were inside the vehicle.
"Oh god, I completely forgot! It's still in our bedroom. Hyunjin took all my attention." I laughed it off.
"You're the worst birthday gal, like, ever!" He protested while he began to drive to the studio.
"I'm not! I actually thanked you right away."
"Yeah, but you didn't even open it because your boyfriend arrived with a bouquet of roses." I flashed a glance at me and went back to the road. "Those aren't even the ones you like," he chuckled.
"He's not my boyfriend. And I like roses, though." I raised my eyebrows.
"Yeah, you prefer jasmines though," he imitated my tone.
"But I do like roses." I glanced at him and checked my phone.
"Happy 19th one."
His contact name appeared on my screen, and I let out a little playful laughter, catching my oppa's attention.
"I honestly hope that's Ryujin with a dirty text rather than what I think it is."
"I don't know what y'all's problem with Cal is." I crossed my arms over my chest.
"Not as if he fucked you and left you in for like a week or so. Not to mention your cries every other day AND all the heartbreak songs you wrote."
"Thank you for remembering that," I said, raising my eyebrows. "It was like a decade ago."
"The hearbreak ones were fire, though," he kept teasing. "You check in and out of my heart like it's a hotel, and she must be perfect; oh, well, I hope you both go to hell." He sang nicely. "BANGER." He smiled playfully. "Hyunjin-ah won't like that message."
"As I said, he's not my boyfriend." I looked at Minho through my eyelashes, blinking a few times.
"Don't make puppy eyes," he said, rolling his eyes, and I could see his ears turning a slightly pink color. "I won't be on your side, Moonlight."
"There's no side, Oppa."
"Yes, there are. I'm telling you this before Hyung scolds you in front of the rest of the boys… Don't get lost and be seen around with them, MoonJin. It's not good for your image or Jinnie's feelings." His tone was serious.
"But…"
"You already fucked him up with the Calum thing."
"As if he did not do the same with Lia," I fought back. "Everything I do is in response to something that I've been through, so, no, I did not fuck his feelings up. At least not first."
"Revenge is not good."
"And you're the one saying that?" I really laughed.
"I'm serious." He laughed along slightly. "Okay, we're close." He turned right. "Anxious?"
"I'm already missing the chaos." I pouted
"We'll be there as soon as possible, Moonlight." He smiled, "Go get ready and slay the fuck out of your debut. Be the envy of every other Idol debut ever."
"Alright, thank you, Oppa. I will be waiting for you." I smiled at him while he stopped the car to let me out. "I love you." I hugged him quickly, got out of the vehicle, and ran into the building.
I'm already lost without my boys.
[...]
"Nineteens Kitsch" I sang the last line of the song, and the audience screamed with all their strength, including my boys in the front row while I was posing for the fairy ending.
"Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you!" Chris started chanting, and soon our members and the audience joined him, wishing me a happy birthday. "Happy birthday, dear MoonJin! Happy birthday to you!"
"Thank you," I said shyly.
"Happy birthday, Moon Jin-ssi!" Lee Dae-hwi and Han Hyun-min approached me.
"Thank you so much." I bowed at everybody.
"All your friends are here!"
"They are." I smiled while looking at my members, and I know I've got heart eyes at this very moment. I just love them with my whole self.
Chris found me at my lowest and decided to pick me up and rescue me. I will be forever grateful to him. And obviously, the boys received me with open arms.
While I was looking at them, I saw frame by frame how Hyunjin's face turned from a joyful smile and heart eyes for me to his slightly scary, serious face. Felix too, and then I heard a loud laugh from Seungmin.
I looked over to the big screen, and there they were. The four guys. The audience went nuts, and my ears were burning.
"Oh," I said as my eyes became wide, as if I'd seen a ghost.
Luke, Mike, Ash, and Calum were waving at the cameras now all over them.
Chan, obviously, as professional as always, was clapping at them, yet made the time to send me a glance. I immediately made eye contact with Minho, who had a slightly fun expression on his face.
Changbin didn't really know what happened with them, but he had an idea, so you could say they weren't his favorite people. Hyunjin was trying not to show it, but I know him so well. He's so mad right now.
Okay, bare with me in this one. Jisung isn't really the kind to be pissed off, but, oh God, his expression right now is not like anything I've seen before on his face. It was like a pre-debut Han made it's appearance. On the other hand, Felix is always sunshine; we all know that, but his forced smile made me laugh internally. Yongbok held me so many nights while I was crying, he won't forgive as fast as I did.
Yes, Seungmin is a menace. He likes to tease so much and make fun of others for his own entertainment, but I have no doubts that if Calum came close to me by himself, his protective sibling mode would be turned on and he wouldn't move from my side. He's always like that; when interviewers start to make strange questions or remarks, he's always the one to call them out on shit. Jeongin just bluntly isn't even trying to hide it; he really doesn't give a shit, and I love him for that.
But, back to the main subject: What the fuck is Calum doing here? I thought it'd be just the other three coming, but on the other hand, I do understand that it'd be suspicious. Last time, Dispatch caught me and Cal fooling around being all dovely lovely.
I thanked them and the fans a few more times and went backstage. It only took like one minute and thirty two seconds to have my members with me
"I thought you said only Luke, Ashton, and Michael were coming." Hyunjin said so once his eyes landed on me.
"I thought that too." I looked at him innocently.
"Oh, don't puppy-eye me." He crossed his arms on top of his chest.
"Congratulations, Moonlight." Minho interrupted and gave me a hug.
"You really have a soft spot for her, don't you?" Jisung asked when he appeared through the door.
"So now Hyunjin is jealous of Calum, and you're jealous of me?" I laughed while still in the older man's arms.
"Why would Hyunjin be jealous of Calum?" Jisung made a disgusting face, and I quickly looked at Minho for some kind of salvation.
"Calum's real tall." Nice try, oppa.
"Yeah, but I'm a better dancer." Hyunjin added
"Sing better" Jisung and I said simultaneously, and the room broke into laughter.
"Hello." A familiar voice was heard, and I fucking knew it. I didn't even want to turn around and see
It's the Australian accent for me.
To be continued...

Runaway
A/N: wow it's been actually forever. finally decided to get back into writing, hope you enjoy this one! (p.s. i'm trying to get caught up on requests, so they are currently closed!)
Pairing: Calum Hood x GN!Reader
Summary: a confession of love is ignored and revisited
Warnings: none, i believe
Word Count: 2.4K
Minors DNI
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You met Calum’s eye from across the small living room of Ashton’s house, giving him a weak smile. You weren’t sure how long he’d been watching you - you just knew that as soon as you looked up, his eyes were already on you.
It was weird. You’d never had that kind of interaction with any of the other boys before, or any boy before.
Do I have something on my face? Is my hair a mess? Maybe he thinks my outfit’s ugly.
You did a quick once over of yourself in the reflection of your glass, and eventually decided that you looked fine. So what was his deal?
Calum stood up, and your eyes met his eyes once again. You gave him a confused look and he just gave you a small smile before he walked out of the room.
The rest of the boys all shared a knowing look.
“What?” You asked them.
“Nothing.” Ashton said. “Nothing at all.”
The smirk on his face was enough to irk you, and you had to look away before you made a snide comment that you didn’t mean.
They all clearly knew something. Did they all think your outfit was ugly? It didn’t look that bad when you checked it over before you left.
Maybe I won’t wear this one again.
—
“Hey!” Calum called into the phone.
“Hi!” You responded, just as enthusiastic.
“Whatcha up to today, sweets?” He asked. You tried to ignore the flutter in your stomach at his pet name.
“Um, not much. I’ve got to finish cleaning my kitchen but other than that, I don’t think there’s anything else. Why?”
“Nothing. Just wanted to see if you wanted to come over for a bit.” He said. There was something in his voice. Hope?
You thought about it. You loved hanging out with Calum, you really did. It was simply becoming increasingly hard to be in the same room as him.
“I… I’ll think about it, yeah?”
“Alright.” He said. Disappointment? “If you don’t want to drive I can pick you up, no biggie.”
You chuckled.
“I’ll let you know, Cal.” And with that, you hung up.
You placed your phone down on the counter, bringing a hand up to your forehead. It wasn’t out of the ordinary for Calum to ask you to come over, but something about the way he said it this time was different.
Calum put his phone down, glancing up at Luke sitting across from him.
“Dude.” He said.
“I know.” Calum grumbled. “I don’t know what it is. Am I the problem? Is it something with me?”
Luke immediately shook his head. “No. I don’t know what it is either, but I don’t think it’s you.”
Calum nodded, defeated. He hated that he couldn’t just tell you how he felt, always using some other tactic.
Come hang out with me.
Want to get dinner, in a totally platonic way?
Hey, I saw this book at the store and knew you wanted it so I grabbed it for you.
Jesus.
—
You eventually shot Calum a text, telling him to come pick you up so you could hang out with him. It hadn’t even been a minute when his reply came through.
I’m on my way!!!!!!
You smiled.
He pulled up, walking up the steps to your house and swiftly knocking on your door. You opened it, dressed in a pair of shorts and one of Calum’s t-shirts that he’d left at your house a few weeks ago.
His face began to heat up at the sight of it, and he cleared his throat in an attempt to hide it.
“Hi.” He said.
“Hi.” You answered, walking beside him out to his car.
He opened the door for you, gently placing his hand on your back as you got in.
Your chest constricted at the feeling of his hand on you - the heat of it seeping through the thin t-shirt. Calum walked around the car, getting in and quickly driving away.
When you finally made it back to his house, you were more than a little confused to see a group of cars parked on the street.
“You throwing a party or something?” You asked.
“Nah, just a few friends. Why, you okay?”
“Yeah I’m good, just… thought it was gonna be just us.” You shrugged, opening the door and stepping out of his car.
Calum sighed. He knew it wasn’t a good idea to invite people over, but Michael had all but begged him to have some kind of get together instead of moping around because he wasn’t hanging out with you.
Calum quickly caught up to you, reaching around you to open the door to his house for you, gently guiding you through the doorway.
You smiled and said your hello to the rest of the boys as you walked through the house, but soon realized you didn’t recognize anyone else.
“Cal, I don’t know any of these people.” You mentioned, shrinking into his side as the anxiety of being surrounded by strangers began to set in.
“I know, sweets.” He said, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. “I’ll introduce you to some of them, if you want.”
You were about to express how much you didn’t want that when a girl approached you. She was just a few inches taller than you, and she was gorgeous. And she clearly knew Calum.
“Cal Pal!” She called, gathering his attention.
“Cara! I didn’t even realize you were here!” He said, the smile on his face putting shame to the overhead lights.
“I know, I snuck in after you left. I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to see you guys!”
“Oh! This is Y/N.” He said, gesturing to you.
“Hi!” She said excitedly. “I’m Cara, but I think you probably figured that out.” She giggled, glancing at Calum as he chuckled.
You nodded, returning her hello before Calum detached himself from your side, wrapping an arm around Cara’s shoulders as they walked away. You were left standing in the middle of the hallway, surrounded on all sides by people you’d never seen before, most of which were either high out of their minds or too drunk to stand.
Wow, you thought, he goes all the way out of his way to bring me here and then introduces me to… her. His girlfriend? No, he would tell you… right?
You were pulled out of your train of thought by Ashton’s voice, “You alright?”
You nodded, finally looking away from the direction Calum had walked in to meet Ashton’s eyes.
“Yeah I’m okay. Is Calum seeing that girl?” You asked, pointing at the two of them on the far side of the living room.
“Who, Cara? I… honestly can’t answer that. They just met a few weeks ago, but I doubt it.”
You nodded, not satisfied with his answer. Hanging out with Calum seemed like a good idea before you knew this was how the night would be spent.
You walked into the kitchen, grabbing a bottle of water before making your way into the backyard, dropping into one of the chairs away from the group surrounding the bonfire.
Watching everyone interact with each other, watching Calum interact with Cara, it was quickly worsening your mood. Now, you just wanted to go home.
“What’s going on?” Calum asked, walking up to you.
“Hm?”
“Come on, sweets, you look like someone kicked a puppy. What happened?”
You warmed once again at the use of his nickname for you, but quickly moved on as you were reminded of the events of the night.
“Nothing happened, Cal. Why don’t you go back over to Cara? I’m sure she misses you.” You knew it was low, and a little unnecessary, but you couldn’t help it. The man you’d been fawning over brought you to his house and abandoned you for a girl he met a few weeks ago.
“What? Why would Cara miss me? She’s got plenty of company over there.” He responded.
“Yeah, well, no girl wants to be away from her boyfriend for too long.”
Calum froze. Is that what this was? You thought he was dating her?
“You can’t be serious.” He said, watching as you slowly picked your head up to look at him. “After everything… all that I’ve done and said and… and you think I want someone else?” He asked incredulously.
“Cal, what are you…?”
“I love you. Not her, you. You’re the only person I want.”
No. No, no, no, this was not happening. You couldn’t be with him, you’d do nothing but bring him down. He deserved so much better than whatever you had to offer, he had to know that.
“No you don’t.”
“Excuse me?”
“You don’t love me. You can’t. You deserve so much better, you are so much better off without me. I’m sorry, Cal, but it’s true. Whatever it is that you think I have to offer I promise is nothing compared to what someone like Cara could give you.”
“No. That’s where you’re wrong. I don’t want you because I think you have something to offer. I want you because you’re you. I want you because you cry over books, and make your tea with oat milk, and have to smell every candle before buying the same one you always get. I want you because you understand me like no one else ever has, and you know exactly what I need at any given moment.”
You couldn’t even think. Here Calum was, telling you exactly what you’d always wanted to hear, and you didn’t believe a single word. There was no way that Calum of all people could feel that way for you.
A tear slipped down your cheek, leaving a warm trail behind as it eventually dropped off your chin.
“No, sweets, why are you crying?” He asked, reaching a hand up to wipe your tears away. You dodged his hand before it could connect with your skin and quickly walked away, leaving Calum and his confession of love behind.
He was dumbfounded. Clearly it was something that he’d done, offended you in some way, to have you walk away from him like that. He stood outside for a few moments before he realized what had happened, and all but sprinted back inside the house.
“Where is she, where’d she go?” He asked no one in particular.
“Uh, I think Macie just took her home. Why what happened?” Luke said.
—
It had been 3 weeks. 3 weeks since Calum poured his heart out to you and you walked away. He’d called and texted to no avail, and the boys tried, too. But it was clear that you didn’t plan on answering any of them.
It all caught up to Calum one day. And suddenly, he couldn’t move, couldn’t breathe, couldn’t think. He was out his front door in a second, immediately heading for you. Sure, you lived 3 miles away, but he couldn’t be bothered to grab his car keys before leaving, and wholeheartedly decided to walk.
The first time thunder rumbled in the distance, Calum didn’t even realize it, too caught up in his own thoughts. It was only a few minutes later when he felt the first drops of rain that he realized what he was doing.
He was pulled out of his thoughts by the sight of a flower stand, an elderly woman placing out a fresh bouquet of roses.
“Hello, ma’am. How much for the roses?” He asked her.
She looked him up and down, clearly seeing something about him that he couldn’t.
“For you? Free. Have them.” She said, giving him a warm smile.
He returned it as he picked up the bouquet and began walking again. 2 minutes later, it was pouring down, and Calum picked up his pace to a run.
You were sitting on your couch, nursing a cup of tea as you read, listening to the rain bounce off the windows. You were startled out of your cozy atmosphere by frantic knocking on your door.
You quickly made your way over, confused as to who could be at your door at this hour, in this weather. And you opened it to find, “Calum?”
You looked him over. It had been almost 3 weeks since ‘the incident,’ as you had nicknamed it, and you hadn’t seen him since. His clothes were soaked through, and the look of desperation on his face almost distracted you from the beat up bouquet of roses he was holding.
“What are you doing?! It’s pouring!” You said.
“I don’t care. I had to see you. To tell you that I meant it, every single word. That you’re the only person who truly understands me, the only person I want to fall asleep next to and wake up with. The only person who can make me laugh until I can’t breathe and fills my heart with so much love and my life with so much happiness that I don’t have a single clue what I would do without you.” He finished.
Tears were streaming down both of your faces, and you didn’t think before throwing your arms around his neck.
You’re clothes were immediately soaked through as Calum wrapped his arms tightly around your waist, dropping the flowers onto your doorstep.
“God, Calum, I am so sorry. I don’t even know what I was thinking, I just… No one’s ever said anything like that to me before and meant it. I didn’t know what to do so I ran and I can’t even express to you how happy I am that you’re here. That you’re here and you said it again and you still mean it even after I ran away the first time.” You pulled back to look at his face, bringing one of your hands around to wipe a fresh tear off his cheek.
He smiled, pressing his lips to yours like he’d been waiting to do for so long.
“Trust me, sweets,” he mumbled against your lips, “that doesn’t change a single thing.”

FOOL FOR YOUR LOVE • C.T.H
Mafia!Calum x Reader
Plot: Calum shuts Y/N out because he's convinced it's the only way to keep them safe. Little does he know, his actions end up causing even more damage than he anticipated.
Warnings: None!
"You say it's hard to tell what I've been thinking lately, but behind closed doors, I'm a fool for your love”
Calum POV
The sound of the front door slamming sent a knife through my heart. Pulling my head out of my hands felt nearly impossible as regret wasted no time seeping into my body. the words I spat at them meant nothing, I just wanted to keep them away from me for their sake. I grab a pack of beers to drink my woes away as I think of them, Y/N. Hopefully the taste and drown them put my head for the night.
As I lay between the sheets of this California king, the scent of their eucalyptus shampoo filled my nostrils. I wish life was simpler, just for them, because I'll be damned if I let them live in fear but it would also break my heart more if they feared me. I feel tears form in the corners of my eyes at the thought, I let them fall as I clapped the lights off and closed my eyes as I hoped to dream of their Angelic voice, the one drastically different from the wobbly one that rung through my loft earlier
Y/N POV
I wasn't strong enough to stop the waterfall as I sat in my car. I just wanted his heart, but it had seemed so far away these past few weeks. It didn't feel like Calum, It was a stranger that didn't recognize me. Nothing could have prepared me for today, I expected to easily get a simple answer to what was wrong but the words he spewed like venom shattered my heart. As I dried my face, I drove home with Calum on my mind every second of the drive.
The soapy water slipped down my body as I tried to relax in the shower. Trying to forget was just something I couldn't do. It felt a bit pathetic but how could I ignore him? He makes me feel euphoric and loved. I just wonder why'd he push me away, especially if he managed to confess the same feeling of love while trying to say he hated me.
It's 11:45 pm as I lay here with my phone in hand, the texting screen of his contact being the only light in the room. Thoughts like 'What if he blocks my number' along with thoughts of what should be said run through my mind, eventually I settle on one thing and hit send. A simple "I love you" rested as delivered on the screen for a few minutes before I shut it off. The fear of his answer had taken over me so I turned around and closed my eyes, slowly but surely drifting off to sleep.
Next day
Calum POV
'1:43 pm' the clock reads as I check my watch. I knew Y/N texted me but I couldn't get myself to open it, It felt shameful, especially since I let the words "I hate you" utter from my lips towards them. The urge to pick up my phone was strong but I knew I had to let my discipline be stronger, so I left it. Everything within the last 30 minutes of this meeting had been a blur but the only thing that I had properly retained was that we were targets, while that was a big problem I couldn't stop placing the feelings for Y/N in my heart above that.
We took a lunch break as there was more to talk about later. I walked into their favorite cafe out of habit, I could've sworn a tint of eucalyptus lingered in the air. Her best friend Elena stood behind the counter smiling at me. “I didn't expect to see you here” she beamed though it had a questioning undertone. “What do you mean?” I inquired, my mind couldn't have possibly been prepared for what she would say next.
Y/N POV
The radio blasted through my ears as I drove through the city with all my belongings in the back of my car. The fact that he didn't respond or read it was enough confirmation for me. I wanted to visit my comfort spot one last time before I left back home. As I closed the car door and walked under the large apple tree, memories of the past 8 months flooded my mind. His touch, taste, and scent filled my senses. I longed for it all, I longed for him.
Deep down a part of me wanted to hate him and his stupidly gorgeous face but another part of me loved him, so much that I'd give my life for him if he needed it. The tears started to flow quickly, I sat down on the dead grass and pushed my knees and head into my chest. I sobbed quietly, secretly wanting to feel his arms around me again. Just me and this apple tree forest surrounded the area, but still, it felt empty. I felt empty.
Calum POV
Y/N heading back home? That can’t be true right? My mind raced with thoughts of them. I whipped my phone out to finally read the text message, a simple “I love you.” highlighted in blue on my screen. I had to look for them, follow them. I don't want them to leave, especially because of me.
Transportation by foot since I didn't bring my car was my only option today, worry about not making it fast enough took up my spirit’s freedom as I’ve been to Sunshine National now or their fourth favorite spot in the city as they say. There was only one last chance to find her and that was the apple forest, she showed it to me a while ago, it's her favorite place to be during stressful times. The ring of my cellphone cut me out of my thoughts briefly as I saw it was Michael, my right-hand man.
“Dude, Where the fuck are you?” the pink-haired man questioned. “Busy, why?” I said blankly. An irritated sigh left the other’s lips following my last response. “Busy doing fucking what? You've left me here with a bunch of guys asking where the boss is.” I was seeing the hill to the forest and happiness consumed me as I saw their unique colored car there as well. I let out him as I searched for a response finally I let out something for the pinkie on the phone, “Tell them it's canceled and to go home” I clicked the red button quickly as I saw Y/N, my Y/N to be frank.
I yelled out for them but received nothing. I jogged my way to the weeping soul under the tree, the same scent of my tainted bed sheets filled my nose again. It brought me a warming comfort, as I placed my arm around them. Their head popped up to look at me, being in utter shock. As if it was an instinct I connected the space between us, crashing our lips together. To my surprise, they kissed back. I pulled away so we could catch our breaths, and as soon as I did they began to speak, I let out a hush sound to keep them silent. I couldn't help it anymore. It was becoming painful to hold the contents of my heart. I held Y/N close and looked into their eyes with tears filling mine, “Don't ever leave. I know I seemed off but that's because I kept trying to shut you out. I won't ever do that again, I was a fool to my feelings.” I let the tears stream down my face, they made me feel comfortable enough to do so, and they made me feel warm. I placed my head into their neck, their soft hands reaching up to comb through my hair. “I was such an idiot thinking I wanted you out of my life.” I spoke in a squeaky, drained voice.
“when in reality, behind closed doors, I'm a fool for your love.”

WRAPPED AROUND YOUR FINGER
Chapter Eight: RECOVERY
Oh, Florida, please be still tonight
Don't disturb this love of mine
Look how she's so serene
You've gotta help me out
And count the stars to form the lines
And find the words we'll sing in time
I wanna keep her dreaming
It's my one wish
I won't forget this
I'm outdated, overrated
Morning seems so far away
So I'll sing a melody
An hope to God she's listening
Sleeping softly while I sing
And I'll be your memories
Your lullaby for all the times
Hoping that my voice could get it right
If luck is on my side tonight
My clumsy tongue will make it right
And wrists that touch
It isn't much but it's enough
To form imaginary lines
Forget your scars
We'll forget mine
The hours change so fast
Oh, God, please make this last
-I Swear This Time I mean It by Mayday Parade
MICHAEL P.O.V:
While Mia was still in the hospital, the boys and I moved most of her stuff to our house. Ash had brought his friend Sierra with him because she knew Mia pretty well from previous times they hung out and she wanted to help. She took care of the more personal stuff for Mia and brought her a change of clothes to come home in when it was time.
I decided to give up my room for Mia and sleep in Calum's room so she could have her own space. Calum agreed so we put all her stuff in my room and made it look nice for her.
Mia ended up having to be in a wheelchair when she was discharged from the hospital. She could not walk at first and had trouble lifting/moving her arms very much. The doctor said even a few days being unconscious or in a coma could affect Mia's muscle tone and physical abilities quite a lot and with injuries she had, it would be worse. He assigned her to physical therapy and gave us a list of things we could do to help her regain her strength and range of movement.
It was a good few months before Mia was able to walk and move like she used to. I took her to physical therapy twice a week, Sierra helped her with things like showering and getting dressed, and Ashton helped her with the home exercises on the list. Except one exercise, which was to have her stand in water for balance while helping her take steps or move different parts of her body and once she was healed enough from her surgery, I did that with her as often as we were able to.
This was my favorite thing to do with her during that time because it was the exercise she responded to the most since she loved being in water whenever she could. We had our own pool so we got to do it at home and the guys never bothered us when we were in the pool. At the end of the session, I liked to hold her up so she could float on her back for a bit and relax. The best part was the joy and serenity radiating from her face combined with the way her hair billowed out around her like a halo of fire as she floated in my arms, basking in the feeling of the water and sunlight on her skin. It was quite honestly one of the most ethereal, beautiful things I had ever seen in my entire life.
It was also a very welcome change from the pain and anxiety that her eyes often conveyed. She tried to hide it with her usual positivity and smiles, but I saw through her completely. Relearning how to function while trying to heal emotionally from a traumatic event had been really rough on her.
The first night Mia was home with us, I woke up around 2 or 3am to the sound of her screaming. I'd bolted out of bed and stumbled through the door into what was now her room to find her thrashing around as though she was terrified of something I couldn't see.
"Hey, hey, hey," I said softly as I rushed quietly over to her. I knelt down and touched her shoulder gently, causing her to jump a little as she opened her eyes and took in my presence. "Hey, you're okay. It was just a dream."
"Michael?" She gasped, barely audible due to fear.
"I'm here," I whispered back, stroking her head and brushing her hair out of her face.
She managed to choke my name out again as she reached for me. I pulled her into my arms and rubbed her back as she hyperventilated uncontrollably.
"J-jesse...he- I-" she stuttered into my chest as I felt warm tears drip onto my skin.
"Shhh it's okay," I murmured into her ear as I wrapped my arms around her a little bit more. "It was just a dream. You're safe now, I promise."
I keep whispering reassurances to her and rubbing her back until she stopped shaking and her breathing slowed. I relaxed my arms a little and pulled back to look at her.
"Thank you," Mia mumbled, slowly raising her head to look at me.
"Of course. Any time," I replied, shrugging. Her phone lit up from a silent notification and I noticed the time on the screen so I started to pull my arms away from her. "Um, I should probably let you get back to sleep, though."
She pulled me close in response. "Nooo, don't go."
I raised my eyebrow, confused.
"I just...um...please stay," she said, hesitantly. "I don't want to be alone..."
"Oh...okay," I said, carefully climbing under the covers next to her. She placed her head on my chest and I held her close while running my fingers through her hair.
She didn't seem to fully relax until I began absentmindedly singing a MayDay Parade song under my breath. She fell asleep by the time I got to the second bridge of the song and I followed suit not long after.
The nightmares happened every single night for the first few weeks, along with random panic attacks at various times during the day. Ashton and Calum's rooms were on each side of Mia's room so it was usually me or Ash that ran and comforted her, but Calum did a few times and Luke did it whenever he was near her too. A couple of times Ash and I both ended up running to her at the same time so we both stayed to take care of her. We cuddled as a band plenty of times so it wasn't weird for us. We even had group movie nights where we all ended up cuddling and falling asleep together a few times.
Mia was also going to regular therapy along with her physical therapy. After some time, the nightmares and attacks began happening less often and when she was well enough, we decided to bring her on tour with us so she would not have to stay home alone. We also thought a change of scenery might be good for her.
She hadn't travelled much aside from moving here to Cali so she was very excited when we told her. Plus, you know, who wouldn't want to tour with their favorite band? So she spent the last few days before we left enthusiastically packing and planning things to do in our down time, nearly talking our ears off about it in the process.
I honestly thought it was adorable and I couldn't wait to show her all the cool places we've seen and share this experience with her.

KNOW IT ALL x THE BAND CAMINO
part 10
1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9
a calum hood songfic
the end!!!
Michael drops Tillie off at Calum’s home after he forces her to take a shower and put on clean clothes. He watches from his car as she knocks on the door, ready to drive her back home in case Calum refuses to speak to her. He’s proud of Tillie for finally facing a mess that she’s left behind.
Tillie nervously rings the doorbell, even though she still has a key to Cal’s house. She knows walking in after their conversation last week wouldn’t go well.
Calum is surprised to see her, and while he’s still mad, seeing her on his doorstep gives him hope.
“Tillie?”
“Hi, Thomas,” she says, doing her best to smile at him.
“What are you doing here?”
She nervously squirms under his intense gaze. “I have something to give you.”
He doesn’t say anything. He keeps staring at her, waiting for her to give him whatever it is. He assumes it’s something he left behind at her place after the party, but if that was it, why didn’t she just leave it on the porch or give it to Michael to give to him?
Tillie sighs, reaching into the black belt bag she carries as a purse. She pulls out a small ball of blue paper and smooths it out. It's a blue sticky note. It’s a note from the same pad as her breakup note she left for him. She hands the paper to him so he can read it.
I need some space. I’m sorry. I love you.
“Tillie, what is this?” He asks. The final three words burn into his mind.
“It’s the first note I wrote that morning,” she explains.
She wrote it and kept it. That has to mean something, even if she didn’t leave it for him to find that morning.
Calum is stunned, staring at the black ink and reading it over and over. It’s strange how different the note feels with just three more words.
“Can I come in?” She asks. Her voice is shaky and nervous. He hasn’t heard her speak like this much.
He nods and breaks his stare from the piece of blue paper. He opens the door wider so Tillie can walk in. He’s fantasized countless times about Tillie telling him she loves him, but this is a version even his wildly imaginative brain didn’t conjure up.
Tillie, in a somewhat confident way, walks beyond the threshold of Calum’s house. She spins around, expectantly, to determine whether they should talk outside or inside, depending on if Roy is home.
As Tillie steps inside, Michael smiles to himself from the driveway inside of his car. He reverses out of the driveway. If she’s inside, he’s confident they’ll make up and he won’t need to drive her home. Cal is such a sucker for Tillie and everyone knows it.
“Uh, the couch should be fine,” Calum speaks, shutting the door behind her.
She nods and walks to the couch, nervously sitting on the edge of it. Calum is surprised to watch her like this. She’s never so timid.
Calum sits on the opposite side of the couch, but his eyes stay focused on the note. She said that she loves him. She didn’t say it out loud but she said it, and she said it back when they were sort of together. She’s kept the evidence with her the whole time.
“I wasn’t lying the other day, Cal,” Tillie speaks. “I do miss you.”
He sighs, looking up at her. She means it. He knows she does, but it doesn’t change the facts. “Tillie, why did you leave like that?” He cuts straight to the point.
Then it’s her turn to sigh. She has to finally talk about it. She knows she has to talk about it and the thought alone makes her want to throw up. She clears her throat and stares into his warm brown eyes that are so skeptical of her.
“Do you remember that night in Montreal?” She asks.
Calum has to hold in a laugh. Of course he remembers that night. It was one of the best nights of his life. It was the night they became… more than nothing. “Yes, I remember that night.”
“And you remember what I told you about my sister?”
He nods.
“The morning I left, I got a call from the police department in Raleigh. North Carolina, I mean.”
Calum nods again. Nothing that she’s saying has justified anything that she’s done. Not yet, at least.
“Um, so, my sister — Madison — she…” Tillie trails off and her eyes get teary faster than she expected. She looks away from Calum, not sure how she can look him in the eyes and tell him the truth.
Calum stays quiet, giving her the space to figure out what she wants to say. What she needs to say.
“Fuck,” Tillie mumbles, wiping under her eyes as the tears start to fall.
Calum wants nothing more than to reach over and wipe the tears away, but he’s supposed to be pissed at her still, so he doesn’t. But god, does he want to make her feel safe and okay and not whatever she’s going through mere inches away from him.
“Madison committed suicide,” she finally says.
He’s been silent the whole time, but now he really has no idea what to think or say. What she’s just shared isn’t something he ever could have imagined. His heart breaks for her.
“I just… didn’t — hell, I don’t know how to… deal… with it. It’s my fault.”
That’s all it takes for Calum to move closer to her, pulling her into him in a tight hug. Tillie collapses against him, breaking down fully for possibly the first time in her life. She feels safe in his arms and she’s grateful for him being understanding above all else.
“It’s not your fault, Tillie,” he whispers to her.
“It is! And then I hurt you, and then everything got so bad, and now everything is all messed up, and she died because of me, and I just… I don’t know.”
“I knew I was going to get hurt when I started anything with you, Tills,” he says. He’s partly joking and trying to lighten the mood, but he also knows he’s really not kidding.
She looks up at him with teary eyes. “Cal—“
He cuts her off. “And that’s okay with me.”
“That’s not fair, Calum.”
Calum is thinking everything over. Tillie left him because of a true tragedy in her life. She ran because of something awful that had nothing to do with him. She truly just needed space. She didn’t let him back in once everything was back to normal, but still. He’s not as angry or hurt by the whole thing now after learning about the real reason.
“Tillie, you know I love you,” he starts and he watches as his words make her flinch.
“I’m really sorry to hear about your sister. I can’t imagine how badly going through that alone must have felt. I wish you felt safe enough to let someone in back then. None of us heard from you for… months. Not even Michael.”
“I knew everyone would hate me,” she says.
“Nobody hated you.”
Tillie shrugs in response, which surprises Calum. She doesn’t believe him and she knows that people were upset when she disappeared. Nobody knew how to ask her about her absence because she came back and picked up her life like nothing had happened. She had lied and said she went on an ayahuasca retreat in Mexico and disconnected from the world to connect with her spiritual side.
Rendering Matilda Sloane Beckett speechless isn’t something that happens often. It’s certainly never happened in Calum’s presence.
Calum doesn’t know what to say either, so they just sit on the couch, the dust settling around them and a somewhat comfortable silence falls over the room.
“If there’s anyone I should’ve told, it was you. And I’m sorry.”
They stare at each other, blue eyes pouring into brown.
“I love you, Calum. I should’ve told you that, too.”
Hearing the words out loud feels even more crazy. Calum’s heart is rattling in his chest, moving so fast it feels like it might explode. He wants to kiss her so badly, but he’s holding it in, trying to give Tillie a chance to talk about her feelings, something she basically never does.
“Can you forgive me?” She asks.
Without hesitating, he answers.
“Of course I forgive you. I love you.”
“Even knowing the truth?”
“I forgive you for running away and I still love you. That’s all there is to it, T.” He’s holding her close to him still, rubbing small circles on her back.
Tillie shakes her head. “I’m a murderer, Calum.”
“It isn’t your fault at all.”
She wants to yell at him and tell him he’s wrong, but she doesn’t. She doesn’t need to make things worse. Everything is coming back together, slowly, in this moment, and she doesn’t want to mess it all up again.
“Have you thought about talking to someone?” Calum asks. Of course he wants to talk about them and where they stand as a couple, but Tillie’s sanity trumps their relationship any day.
“I’m talking to you right now,” she replies. She doesn’t actually understand what Cal means.
“No, T, like… talking to a therapist.”
Tillie raises her eyebrows before she shakes her head. “No, no, I don’t think that’s necessary.” Therapy was for crazy people and depressed people. She wasn’t either.
Calum sighs loudly, looking at the girl he loves who’s broken. She appears fine from far away. She’s still whole, but when you look closely, really closely, you can see the hairline fractures in the porcelain. It’s only a matter of time before it crumbles.
“You know, I go to therapy,” he says, trying to keep the subject on this as long as he can. He really does want her to talk to someone.
“You do?”
He nods. They’re not hugging anymore, but they’re still pressed close together. Tillie’s leaning her head against his chest and his arm is wrapped tightly around her.
“I do, and so does Mike. Luke does, sometimes, and Ash went a lot for a while there. We all go.”
“Why do you go?” She asks.
Calum coughs and clears his throat. For the past year, it’s mostly been talking about Tillie. Before that, it was his parents’ separation and just general trauma recovery after being essentially a child star. He wouldn’t have traded his teenage years for anything, but he definitely went through a lot of things a lot earlier than he should have.
How does he tell the root of his emotional turmoil that she’s the reason he’s needed therapy?
“Just anxiety and stuff,” he says. He doesn’t tell her. That’s not a conversation for right now. “I think it would be good for you, Tillie. Even just to go one time and determine if it’s right for you.”
She thinks it over for a second, but realizes that if anyone would be able to gauge Tillie’s need to go to therapy, it is Calum. He loves her so much and knows more of her deepest, darkest secrets than anyone else.
She nods. “Okay, if you think I should, I will.”
Calum is floored. He expected far more fight from the stubborn woman. Of course, it’s nice that there wasn’t an argument, but he’s not sure how to act. This isn’t something he could’ve prepped his brain for.
“That’s… that’s good,” he finally says.
Tillie nods again. Calum doesn’t know what to say, so he just nods in response.
“Can I ask you something crazy?” Tillie says, cutting into his thoughtful state.
All Calum knows how to do is nod.
“Can we… can we be, like, an ‘us’?”
He’s floored again, and his throat is full of cotton. How does he reply to that? How does he answer the question he’s wanted to hear for forever?
“Sorry, I mean… I guess, can we… actually try this? Like, boyfriend girlfriend, or partners, or, I don’t know, like… a relationship?”
Calum’s jaw drops open, but he nods quickly. Everything he’s wanted to hear is coming from the girl in his arms that he’s missed being this close to. This is what he’s dreamt about.
“Tillie, I haven’t wanted anything more in my life. Ever.”

Paris Broke My Heart (p.2) | Calum Hood
Pairing: Calum Hood x Reader (she/her)
Summary: A whole year apart. Is there even a chance for Calum and Y/N to be together?
Warning: angst (happy end), fluff, friends to lovers, a bit of cursing and mentioning of alcohol
Word Count: 1 868
Requested: yes and yes
Author’s Note: Read the 1st part here! Without it the story wouldn't really make any sense ♡ I liked the dramatic ending, but I think I like this one better. Hopefully you'll enjoy it, too ♡
Time was making a cruel joke of Calum and Y/N. It wasn’t flying fast like they hoped, on the contrary, it was going extremely slow, torturing day by day. The more weeks were passing by, the more painful it was to be so far from each other.
“How is your new apartment?” the girl called Cal right after landing in Paris and entering her new home. She looked around, having truly no idea how to answer his question. The flat was fine, light and rather spacious. Back to Los Angeles, she dreamed of a normal place to live in, not a small studio with crazy neighbours. However, having a good apartment in Paris did not make her happy. In fact, she didn’t feel anyhow better in another country. The heart was still aching. And Cal’s words “please, don’t go” were still bouncing in her head.
“It’s alright,” Y/N mumbled and bit her lips. “Don’t forget to take care of the plants I gave to you, alright? I worked really hard to keep them alive,” she smiled, but the joy sounded fake.
“Sure, don’t worry.”
He moved the plants to Ashton’s apartment. Cal knew it was pathetic and ridiculous, but even stupid flowers were hurting him, reminding about Y/N. He was angry with himself for letting her go. Other days, if he had too much of alcohol in his blood, he’d be mad at her for ruining everything they had. And that night at the club… She didn’t even talk about it. Did she regret that much?
The first two weeks Y/N was crying every single night, missing her friends, missing Calum. She didn’t regret what had happened between them, however, she hoped it’d have happened much earlier, not few days before her leaving.
Despite some awkwardness in their goodbyes, Calum and Y/N stayed in touch. Or better to say they tried to. The difference in time zones were killing them, it was so much worse comparing with the period when he was on tour. At first, they tried to keep up with their casual messages once a day – when it was morning for her and evening for him – but slowly the texts were shorter and rare. The phone calls became less pleasant and later disappeared at all. After some time, months being in Paris, Y/N got used to her life more or less. At some point she even let the friends know she met a nice guy, and more and more often Calum would see on social media her photos always next to that guy. Few times Cal was thinking to remove Y/N from his following list just to stop seeing her happy face, while he was so devastated.
“Please, tell me it meant something for you.”
Y/N opened her eyes lazily, but closed them immediately, feeling extremely sleepy. However, recognising the voice on the phone, the girl jumped in bed and glanced at the French boyfriend, lying next to her. Thankfully the guy didn’t wake up from the call.
“Calum,” she whispered and, putting on a first shirt she found in her closet, hurried up to leave the bedroom. “Are you drunk?”
“Is that what matters to you, huh? Only this?”
“It’s night here, Cal, I can’t talk now,” she whispered.
“Sure, you can’t. Is he there? In your bed?”
Y/N clenched a hand into a fist, trying to hold back the tears.
“It’s not your business, Cal.”
“It is mine. It supposed to be mine,” he mumbled and sobbed, feeling like shit. He was drunk, it was a rather normal condition of his lately, on the days off. “You left me, as if I never meant anything to you. How could you? After all… after all we had together…”
“I left you?” Y/N outraged in a whisper, going to the kitchen. “Do you think I wanted to leave so much? But you didn’t say a thing. You didn’t tell if it was important to you that I stay.”
“You sent this application at first place!” he snapped.
“And you never asked why I did that, Calum! I couldn’t stay any longer, it was killing me! You were killing me!” she couldn’t hold back the pain any longer. “I chose this path, because it’s better this way. I’m moving on, and you should, too.”
“So, this is it? You saying you don’t give a damn about what happened in the club, Y/N?”
“It was everything to me,” she said and closed the eyes for a moment. “But it doesn’t matter anymore,” Y/N finished the call and came back to the bedroom, texting Luke on her way to look after Cal as, apparently, he couldn’t do that himself.
Surely Y/N did not stop having feelings for Calum, it’d be naïve to think so. But the life kept going, she knew she needed to halt looking back. They couldn’t be together; Cal didn’t even offer to visit her in Paris or invite to his place for the weekends. He was playing his part again, being all cold and detached from her, and that time the girl decided to let it be.
However, it was rather ignorant for Y/N to believe she could find her happiness with someone else. And even if she didn’t think so, she at least hoped she’d be able to hold on to her imaginary love for a little longer. Just few months passed before saying to the French boyfriend rather trivial “I’m sorry, but I’m in love with my best friend”.
Y/N did not come to LA on winter holidays, she thought it would be for the best. Otherwise, she’d start crying again, would experience the feelings towards Calum even stronger, and it’d broke her completely, irrevocably. She did not visit the city of angels during her days off or other vacations, and Cal did not fly to Paris to see her. Funny enough, both realised pretty soon that they were suffering not because of the distance between them, but simply because of the feelings towards each other.
And the whole year passed just like that, yet it felt like eternity. In spite of that, when Y/N sent Calum the only message about her flying to LA next morning because Paris was not her home, the musician felt like he was back to the past.
To the happy one, where Y/N was not leaving, and he felt like he had all time in the world to be with her. To the time, when they were hiding from rain in some old local store with a gumball machine.
“Look!” she wiped wet hands on soggy jeans and started to search coins in her pockets. Calum was quicker, though, so he put few in the machine, and the girl began filling her mouth with yellow, green and red gums that looked more like some plastic. No matter how passionate Cal could be about the taste of each – he claimed that the red one had a strawberry flavour, the green one was apple-flavoured and the yellow was a lemon – to Y/N they all tasted the same. The tongue was changing its colours like a chameleon, though. The girl gave a blue one to her friend, so he took it by his lips, and they switched places. It was Y/N’s turn to put the coins in the machine, while Calum would catch the gums for himself.
“It makes my hungry,” he mumbled, trying to chew ten of them at once, while the girl was spending her last coins on few more gumballs.
“Let’s wait a bit longer, the sun is already peeking out of the clouds,” she noticed, and they both glances at the window, which possibly wasn’t washed since the opening of that store. Usually, a summer downpour wouldn’t last long, so they were sure they’d be able to leave the place quite soon.
“I’d die for a cup of tea and some soup now,” the musician giggled and shock his head actively, when Y/N tried to put the last gum in his mouth. “I don’t have a place in there anymore! Y/N!” he laughed and closed the mouth with a palm.
Just few hours after that he wasn’t smiling anymore, finding out the girl was going to Paris for the whole damn year.
Here he was, though, in the airport where he experienced maybe his very first real heartbreak. Calum saw the girl’s sleepy face and smile that would always light up his dark world. Approaching him, she touched a shirt collar first just to make sure Cal was real. They hugged each other tight, closing the eyes and trying to forget the whole year being apart. Y/N was hearing his rushed heartbeat and thinking how stupid she was believing she could stop feeling anything romantic towards her best friend.
“I love you,” she wanted to say, but only whispered. “I’ve missed you.”
“I’ve missed you too,” he said, but thought. “I wish I could just say how much I love you.”
An hour in taxi, and they were home. Her apartment did not really change much, even though it looked a bit alien after such a long absence.
“Why didn’t you visit?” when superficial conversation was over, the girl could not help asking. She didn’t mean to start a fight, but that question was bothering her for the whole year, and she finally felt brave enough to ask that.
“I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to come back to LA then,” Cal mumbled quietly, almost whispering.
“You do understand how stupid it sounds, don’t you?”
“What do you want me to say, Y/N?” he smirked. “I just couldn’t come. Couldn’t. You left; you made your choice. I had to accept it.”
Y/N’s eyes filled with tears. She sobbed and shook her head.
Cal swallowed and closed the eyes for a moment.
“I called my ex your name, Y/N.”
“When?...”
“When we were making love,” he chuckled sadly and turned the head towards the girl. “Every night… I was imagining you instead of her,” Calum’s cheeks flared up with a blush. The guy knew how wrong it was, of course, he knew.
“I guess she was very mad,” Y/N looked away, remembering the girl from his old posts. She didn’t buy it even for a slight second and was sure they were dating just for marketing reasons. Yet, she did notice Calum not liking Y/N’s photos where she was in an embrace of her ex. So stupid.
“I said my ex that I’m in love with you, so he threw away the tickets to Milan. It wasn’t very romantic.”
“I guess I’m sorry.”
“I know you’re not.”
“Of course, I’m not,” he smiled a bit, feeling better for the first time after finding out she got a boyfriend. Ex-boyfriend. “I love you,” Cal said all of a sudden and took her palms in his. “I love you,” he repeated, simply bursting out the secret. The guy was ready to say it over and over again until she’d finally listen.
“I can’t believe you’re here. I won’t survive without you next time.”
“There won’t be the next time,” Calum warned and covered her silly lips with his after she replied,
“I love you, too, my best friend.”

Are there any good 5SOS friendship fics?
the answer is definitely yes! we have fantastic writers in this fandom, so there are great friendship fics here. i can compile a list based on previous times i've answered this question, but i haven't been reading much 5sos fic for the past year and friendship fics have never been my favorite type of fic.
to find friendship fics on ao3, search for any of the pairings with a & sign instead of a / (example: Michael Clifford & Luke Hemmings). You can filter out the romantic pairings by excluding pairings with a / on the filters bar. this is a great way to find friendship fics, especially because asking me is only going to get the fics i'm aware of in my small circle here on tumblr, whereas filtering on ao3 will help you find a whole lot more!
now on to my recs:
with open hearts and open eyes by @lifewasradical: rated G, ot4 friendship, 2k. very highly recommend this one i love it a lot
If he closes his eyes, Luke thinks he can almost believe that he’s 16 again, that they’re in Australia and they’re just starting out, thrumming with energy and excitement and glee that still lingers in their bones if they look hard enough. Some of that childlike wonder bleeds through the moment, Luke’s sure of it, as the others all turn onto their stomachs too. Their outlines are barely able to be seen through the darkness, but Luke would know the contours of the other guys even if he went blind.
If I Can Dream Long Enough by @4thbrighteststar: rated G, ot4 friendship, 2k.
Luke leans back, closes his eyes and lets the setting sun wash over his face, lets his fingers find a rhythm of their own. Third fret, fifth string. Tenth fret - his fingers hop up and down the guitar. Seventh fret. Fifth fret - no, keep the riff. He loses himself in it, until the wind and the birds and the distant, roaring cars fall silent in the face of the music he’s making by himself for the first time in eternity.
(An ode to making music in the toughest of times.)
am i broken (are you the saviour) by jbhmalum, rated T, malum friendship, 4k
He should do something. Maybe take a deep breath, in and out. Maybe turn on the bedside lamp. Maybe go lie down on the cold bathroom floor. Maybe bury himself under Calum’s covers and cuddle up to him; it probably wouldn’t even wake Calum, and Michael would get the comfort he needs.
Michael hears something he didn’t want to and has a hard time dealing with it.
dearly depressed and brokenhearted (i’d like to let you know that boys cry too) by @clumsyclifford: rated T, muke friendship, 2k
Michael returns. He’s wearing a jacket and a beanie and there’s a blanket from off their couch in his hands.
“Michael,” Luke says.
“Please,” Michael says. “I’m obviously not going to convince you to come inside, but I don’t want you to freeze.” He takes the steps, footsteps falling where Luke’s had, and comes close enough to Luke that when he offers up the blanket, Luke reaches out and takes it. “I know you don’t wear jackets,” Michael explains.
(It’s cold and rainy out. Luke goes for a walk.)
crack a smile, stay a while (am i holding for applause?) by @clumsyclifford: rated T, cashton friendship (but the other two are there as well), 1k
Glancing down at Ashton, Michael adds, “What’s with him?”
“He’s convinced he’s going to do terribly and publicly humiliate himself,” Calum says, rolling his eyes again for good measure.
“No, you’ll be great,” Michael says brightly. “Calum’s always saying how you’re the most talented person in his music whatever class.”
“Calum’s stupid and wrong,” floats Ashton’s voice from somewhere underneath the seat.
no love sincerer (than the love of food) by TempestRising: rated G, ot4 friendship, 4k
5 times One Direction fed 5 Seconds of Summer / 1 time One Direction needed feeding.
melancholy & honey by @igarbagecannoteven: rated G, malum friendship, 500 words, they’re bees (yes you read that right)
Michael’s only been resting there for a minute when he hears a familiar hum approaching him from behind. He doesn’t have to turn his head to know it’s Calum.
glitter by @igarbagecannoteven: rated G, cake friendship
Calum has no idea how Luke is able to infect all of their tour gear with glitter so completely.
below are a collection of friendship fics that I personally have not read, but I’ve read other works by the writers so I feel okay recommending them
Jess @daydadahlias has written so many friendship fics that I have heard great things about!!!
Torn Up (ot4 friendship, 8k)
Tailspin (cashton friendship, warning for alcohol/smoking, 5k)
Lightweight (ot4 friendship, warning for heavy alcohol, non-consensual kissing, 5k)
Tender (mashton friendship, 3k)
Superbloom (cashton friendship, warning for discussions of Skinny Skinny, 3k)
Movie Night (lashton friendship, 3k)
Shoebox (lashton friendship, 3k)
The Craft Club series (outside pov of ot4 friendship, but only Ashton appears in most of the installments. I've heard a lot of really fun things about this series, so while it isn't necessarily a heavy friendship focus I still recommend!)
from Bella @clumsyclifford
you should know i’ll be there for you (lashton friendship, 2k)
maybe this is just as good as it gets (cake friendship, 2k)
our best years are yet to come (thanks for choosing me) (cashton friendship, 1k)
from @lifewasradical
have my back (yeah, everyday) (malum friendship, 3k)
so much older (lashton friendship, 2k)
then if I may self-rec:
takeoff by me: rated G, mashton friendship, 1k
Sweater Weather by me: rated G, malum friendship or pre-slash, 1k
Tornado Warning by me: rated T, ot4 friendship, 2k
wedding vows by me: rated T, malum friendship, background roylum and mystal 5k
if anyone else has friendship fics they want to recommend feel free to add on!

the story of us - c.t.h
requested: yes! “Could you do a calum x reader, please?!
They are together since sgfg era (they met at a concert of her) and you could write their story (like timeline)”
a/n: i love this idea so so so much. i’m tweaking some of it just a bit, but i hope you enjoy it :) this took me like 2-3 days to write. i have two other requests i haven’t even started in bc i love this one so much.
cw: swearing, implications of drinking and sexual activities
———
2015
being a small artist was so exciting, but so exhausting. trying to get publicity and more recognition sucked, with a big capital S.
my life has completely changed when my manger had called me, asking if i wanted to be an opener for an uprising band, 5 Seconds of Summer. of course i immediately said yes.
i had seen them before live. they opened for one direction when they were first starting out. they were incredible, and opening for them would be such a dream. tour started next month, giving me time to catch up on all their music.
their voices were unbelievable. i remember hearing amnesia when i had been broken up with last year, and listening to it now, i no longer think of him. now all i can think of is how beautiful it sounded.
i looked into the band, searching up common stuff about them. calum’s tan skin and tattoos has drawn me in. his hair was beautiful, he was beautiful.
i couldn’t let that distract me from being professional when we met. i pushed aside those feelings, waiting for tour to start.
———
a month later
i shook with excitement as i was being driven to the first venue. i had yet to meet the boys, and to say i was nervous was an understatement.
as we pulled up to the venue, i could see thousands of girls already standing outside, waiting to get in. my stomach flipped at the sight. sure i’ve performed live before, but this was a lot more than i’ve ever played for. i shook off the nerves of performing, focusing back on my first impression with the band.
the car parked, and i stepped out, walking to the entrance of the venue. i was lead by a security guard to the large dressing rooms. the sounds of laughing and yelling were heard through the door before i walked in.
“everyone, this is y/n y/l/n, your opener. y/n, this is the band.” the security spoke to me, leaving me with everyone. they all looked at me with soft smiles. my eyes landed on calum, my breathe hitching as he watched me walk through the door.
“i’m sure you already know, but i’m luke, that’s michael there, ashton, and calum.” luke smiled brightly. they all stood up, taking turns hugging me.
“it’s great to meet you guys. it’s crazy that i’m your opener. it feels like i saw you guys opening for one direction just a week ago, but here i am opening for you this time.” i spoke, waving my hands around.
calum chuckles at my actions. i blushed, smiling at them. “we’re excited that you’re here. your music is fantastic, and we’ve already seen some posts from fans saying they can’t wait to see you live.” calum said.
“i’m glad. im incredibly nervous. how long until i’m on?” i asked, looking for a clock. “little less than an hour.” michael piped up, looking at his phone.
my eyes widened, not ready at all. “i’m gonna go warm up a bit, see you all later!” i said, walking into my own seperate dressing room.
i began my warm ups, and before i knew it, i was halfway through my set. “alright everyone, we’re gonna slow it down a bit, and i’m gonna do an acoustic cover, how’s that sound?” i spoke into my mic. the crowd went crazy.
i chuckled as i put my mic back on the stand, grabbing my guitar. “so this is one of my favorite songs actually, and it means a lot to me. it’s called everything had changed, by this super cool chick named taylor swift. if you know the words, sing along!” i announced.
i started strumming my guitar, listening to the muffled screaming through my ear pieces. i smiled as i saw calum watching me from off stage. he gave me a smile and a thumbs up. my heart fluttered.
i turned back and sung the words. i knew my face was red as it was, but if i could see myself i knew i would be bright red. calum mouthed the words as i sung, making me giggle a bit.
once i finished the song, i said my goodbyes to the crowd. i passed calum, giving him a high five. “that was fantastic!” he cheered, pulling my arm back and giving me a hug. i pressed my face to his chest, taking in his scent.
i needed something to subside this little crush that was lingering in my mind. “thanks cal! just thirty more minutes then you guys will be on stage! they’re all going crazy waiting for you.” i laughed.
he watched me as i walked away, going to my dressing room to grab a snack.
soon enough the boys were due to go on stage. i walked around to the side of the stage, watching calum as he plucked the strings on his bass. i sung along to every song, watching calum the whole time.
every so often he would turn his face towards me, watching me as i danced around and sung with him. he would laugh and shake his head slightly.
the concert went on, and i could see some fans pointing to calum as he kept looking to the side. i giggled, thinking how they’d never know he was watching me. it was such an innocent thing, but i knew we’d have to keep things professional in the end.
“alright i want everyone to scream the words to this with us! i wanna hear you loud and clear and i want to see you jump!” luke yelled.
“i just want to say before we start, this song is going to be dedicated to the most gorgeous girl ive ever met. this is ‘she looks so perfect’” calum spoke, winking at me.
i blushed madly as the crowd went wild. after the show, calum handed his bass to a stage manager, and grabbed my hand, pulling me to his dressing room.
“what are you doing to me cal? my mind is going a million miles a minute just thinking of you.” i spoke, running my hand through my hair. he chuckled.
“i know it’s all so soon, but i believe in love at first sight, y/n. you make me crazy.” he spoke, getting closer to me. he held my hips as i wrapped my arms around his neck.
“let’s just see where it all leads, yeah? let time consume us.” i spoke. he nodded, pressing a kiss to my forehead.
this was only the start.
———
2016
after tour, i kept in touch with all the boys, but especially calum. soon after tour, we started dating. just a few months ago, we moved in together, sharing an apartment.
since moving in together, we’ve had countless movie nights, date nights, nights where we’d cook with each other, sick days, and so many other things. we’d already been together for a year, but it felt like we’ve been together for years.
“y’know, i really love you.” calum spoke softly as he played with my hair. my head was resting on his bare chest, tracing his tattoos. we’d both just gotten done showering, deciding to lay down and get ready for bed.
“i really love you too cal.” i blushed, looking up at him. his sweet eyes stared down into mine, giving me a soft kiss. i put my head back down, listening to his heart beating.
———
in the morning i woke up in an empty bed, looking for cal. i shifted around, finally getting up. i grabbed a pair of calum’s boxers and a sweater before walking out of our room. i could hear the soft sound of guitar from down the hall.
as i walked into the living room, calum started humming, stopping every so often. i knew he was in the middle of writing. he looked up when he heard my soft footsteps on the floor. “hey! i wanna read you these lyrics, wanna know what you think.” he spoke. i smiled, sitting down next to him.
i grabbed his journal, reading what he wrote. “i’m not sure if i’ll bring it up to the boys any time soon..” he trailed off as i read it.
“we know we’re classic together like egyptian gold.
we love us.
it don’t matter,
be combative or be sweet cherry pie,
it don’t matter just as long as i get all you tonight.”
he hummed it as i read, squeezing my leg. “cal that’s beautiful! you’ve gotta bring this one to the boys.” i encouraged. he blushed, pulling me closer to him.
“it’s about you. doesn’t matter if we stay in or go out, just as long as i’ve got you. as long as i get to love you.” he spoke. i blushed, pushing him back against the couch. i straddled his hips, kissing him.
“why don’t you show me how much you love me?” i asked him. he smirked, grabbing my waist.

“i can take you out, oh, oh! we can kill some time, stay home!” calum sang, watching me as i danced from the crowd. i smiled at him as he watched. he signaled for a security guard to come close, speaking to them briefly before they walked to me.
“calum says he wants to bring you up on stage, follow me please.” he spoke. i nodded and followed. once on the side of the stage, i was handed a mic.
i listened as calum spoke. “i wanted to bring out a very special girl, my wonderful girlfriend, y/n y/l/n!” he announced. i walked out on stage, waving to the crowd.
“hello! i’m going to be honest, i didn’t know calum was going to bring me up here!” i laughed. the boys were still playing. they were at the bridge in valentine, playing it slowly.
calum took his bass off and set it down gently. he walked to me, grabbing one of my hands. “y/n i’ve loved you for the past 3 years, and im forever going to love you,” he began. i turned my head in confusion.
“you’re the most wonderful person i’ve met in my life. you’re the one who inspired this song, and what feels like millions more. you’re my muse.” he continued, letting go of my hand and grabbing something in his pocket. he set his microphone down, getting on his knee.
my eyes widened. i handed my microphone off to a stage hand, turning back to calum. he held a small velvet box, opened to show a beautiful diamond ring. “will you marry me?” he yelled to me over the sound of the crowd. i nodded my head quickly, my hands over my face. i got down to his level, holding out my left hand. he slid the ring onto my finger, pulling my face in for a kiss.
tears fell from my eyes out of excitement. “i love you!” i yelled to him. “i love you!” he yelled back.
he was the one i was going to spend the rest of my life with.

2020
it was CALM release day. calum and i have been together for five years now, and married for a year.
our wedding was very private, but we took plenty of pictures to share with the fans. i’ve never been more proud of calum.
calum was at another interview today, and of course i was by his side the whole time. i stood off set, watching as they talked about the album. “what’s your guys’ favorite song off the new album, and why?” the host asked. they all looked at each other, thinking of their answers.
“easily mine is wildflower. y/n was a big inspiration for that song, and she even helped us write and produce some of our music. which i want to mention, her new album comes out in two months!” calum smiled at me.
after the interview, he captured me in a tight hug. “you have no idea how proud of you i am, cal.” i kissed him. “and you have no idea how proud of you i am, y/n.” he spoke as we walked to the car, leaving for the next interview already.
———
once we got home from celebrating the album, calum and i decided to relax in bed having a movie night. we decided on watching ‘juno’, one of our favorite movies.
“have you ever thought about having one?” calum asked. i looked up at him confused. “one what, cal?” i questioned.
“a baby, y/n. have you ever thought about having one?” he explained. i smiled at him. “of course i have cal, i’ve always known i’ve wanted to be a mother some day.” i watched his eyes flicker to my lips.
“what about having a baby with me?” he held on tight to me as he asked. i nodded my head. “all the time. it’s been in my mind since before we got married.”
“what do you say we make one?” he said, stroking my hair. my eyes widened. “now? shit if you’re down, let’s do it.” i laughed. he climbed on top of me, and i prepared myself for the night ahead. calum was a determined person, and i knew he’d go all night if it meant getting me pregnant.
———
a few weeks later i had woken up, feeling like absolute shit. i sprung up from the bed, running to the bathroom. while throwing up everything from my system, that moment, i knew i was pregnant. since that night i had stopped drinking alcohol and switched to decaf coffee just to be sure of no issues. calum had stopped smoking, and we could do was wait to have a positive test.
once done, i quickly scrambled to grab a pregnancy test from under the sink. i did my thing and set it on the counter, result side face down. “calum?” i yelled from the bathroom.
he hurried into the room, thinking i was hurt. “are you alright? what’s wrong?” he asked, grabbing my face, holding me close. that’s when he had seen the test on the counter.
“you really think..?” he started. i nodded my head. “i woke up with morning sickness. i know it may not mean anything but, i don’t know, ive just got a feeling.” i said. he held onto me, standing with me while we waited.
i grabbed out my phone, setting up my camera to record our reaction. i was so sure, but at the same time it could’ve been nothing.
i had taken some videos before, and they were negative, but that was me just waiting to see if it’d happen. of course, calum was with me during each, but for this one he held me tighter.
“ready?” i asked him, the video already recording. “as i can be.” he replied, smiling. i grabbed the test from the counter. “okay. one, two, three.” i spoke, flipping the test over. i studied the lines, but quickly saw two solid pink lines. i covered my mouth, showing calum. his eyes widened grabbing the test from me, looking at it for himself.
“we’re pregnant.” i stayed, watching him set the test down. he grabbed me, squeezing me tightly. “i’m gonna be a fucking dad!” he cried, kissing me.
“we’re gonna be parents!” i squeaked, tears slipping from my eyes. i grabbed my phone, ending the video. i took a picture of the test, and sent both to my family and calum’s.
we were flooded with congratulations from our families. we waked back to the room, laying with each other. we both posted the video and the picture on our social medias, announcing to the world that we’re going to have a baby.
———
nine months feels like a life time, but also so short once you have your baby. on november 8th, 2020, we had our beautiful baby boy, charlie.
calum and i spent every waking moment loving him, and loving each other. being home from the hospital was a relief, as we were able to finally have alone time from friends and family.
this was the start of our small family.
———
2022
5sos5 released just a few months ago, and charlie was soon turning two. time has flown by, but everything is absolutely perfect.
luke had brought up the idea for calum and i to make another version of ‘Older’, knowing our voices went well together. we decided to do so, and released it. the song was beautiful as it is with luke and sierra, but it felt so much more special now that calum and i had an official song together.
calum and i sat together by our fireplace, enjoying the warmth in the cold weather. we had just found I’m pregnant again, and we’re basking in the love of each other. charlie was asleep in his crib, the baby monitor close by incase he started to fuss.
calum got up, grabbing my hand to come with. he walked me to the kitchen, grabbing his phone out. he searched something up before hitting play, and propping open the refrigerator door. “you’re so cheesy. i love it.” i giggled.
he grabbed my waist, clasping one of our hands together. i rested my other hand on his shoulder. he swayed with me, just as we did for our first dance after getting married.
he kissed the top of my head, holding me close. “you’re so perfect, y/n. i’m so in love with you.” he spoke softly.
“i’m so in love with you cal. you were meant just for me.” i spoke, pressing my lips to his.
“as forever comes closer,
hope the world will spin slower,
i don’t want to get older.
i don’t want to get older.”

"Calum I already told you I'd be there tonight", I laugh into the phone, attempting to hold it between my ear and shoulder- my hand's occupied on the steering wheel.
"I know Y/N, but it's about to start soon and I can't go downstairs without my costume", He whispers back. By the sound of his voice, I can imagine him pouting slightly.
The annual Halloween party Calum always threw was something no one wanted to miss.
He always planned the next one six months before and had a strict dress code- dress up or get lost. It also carried the reputation of trying to go as long as possible before being shut down- last years record was 41 minutes.
Calum took it so seriously, he'd go as far as cancel shows that happen to land the same week of the party.
Glancing down at my passenger seat, I stifle a laugh at the huge red and yellow crayon costumes that he had begged us to get as soon as he spotted them in Target. Of course I threw a fit about it, claiming it was ridiculous.
I only agreed on the plan if he'd be the yellow crayon.
"Okay Okay, i'll be there in ten", I don't give him any time to speak before I ended the call and toss my phone over to the passenger seat- it landing on the costume packages with a thud. My eyes down to the GPS on the screen and sigh. Calum whining in my ear made me miss my turn almost half a mile ago.
I watched as the fields trees and shrubs around me turned into splotches of various shades of green. The rain littered my windows and I mentally bet on the racing raindrops to fall down first. I rubbed my eyes with one hand before glancing back down at the GPS. It notifies me of a faster route if I turn in the next half mile onto a side street. Humming to myself, I slowly squint to focus my eyes as a few streets came into view.
I just saved myself 7 minutes.
The road was marked with numerous signs stating, "Do Not Enter", "Private Property", one even going as far as saying "Trespassers will be shot". Nevertheless, I continued forward down the dirt road, my car bounced around from the rocks and debris littering the floor. I knew I'd have to be there soon- Didn't want another passive aggressive phone call from Hood.
I leaned over to snatch my phone from my passenger seat to call Calum once more before my car suddenly jolted to a stop. My phone slid off the seat and clattered to the floor, getting lost under the seat somewhere. I push a little harder on the gas, my tires squealing at the effort. I put the car in reverse, craning my neck to look behind me and I try and back out- still nothing.
"You've gotta be fucking kidding me," A pathetic laugh escapes my lips as I put the car in park, making sure to pull my emergency brake up and turn my hazards on. I slowly step out of my car, my shoes squishing into the mud and I crouch down in an attempt to see the cause of my car shutting off. The car was hissing, almost teasing me of the situation I was now in. I stomped around to the other side of my car and wiped my eyes with my hands to try and see better. I mentally cursed myself for not dressing more appropriately, looking down at my outfit that was to be worn underneath the crayon costume.
Pulling my passenger door open, I crouched inside and tore open the costume package and pulled out the giant red crayon headpiece. It was the only thing remotely close to a hat and it would give me more visibility in the rain. I slipped the costume on and tugged the hat on top of my head, blocking me from the rain.
I looked ridiculous- standing in the pouring rain in a crayon costume in the middle of no where.
I crouched down once more to search for my phone, wiping the rain drops from the screen once I located it, before dialing Calum's number. It rang a few times before it clicked and the sound of the party filled my ears,
"Calum? Hey-", I began loudly but he soon cut me off.
"Where the hell are you?" , He hissed almost immediately and I mentally rolled my eyes at him.
"Calum my car just broke down turning into the road, can you come get me?", I plead, wiping my face with my hands to rid the rain from my now drenched face.
"Shit- I can't. I've already started drinking, costume-less might I add", He chuckles to himself and I hear him let out a deep exhale before fumbling with him phone. "Look, I'll have one of my mates come get you. Where are you?"
I groan in annoyance, sliding into the passenger side of my car sideways to hover my mud stained shoes outside. I switch the phone over to my left hand and press it to my ear once more,
"Um, I passed by a few signs earlier.... do not enter yada-yada. I'm stopped next to a huge tree." He hums in response and I can hear his fingers frantically typing on his phone.
"Okay, uhhh he will be there in 5"
"He? Who's-", before I can finish my question, he had hung up and I'm met with a click.
Mentally cursing him, and myself for that matter, I let out a large sigh and laugh to myself. I stared off for a few moments, thinking back on how I even managed to end up here. The bright light of headlights snapped me from my gaze and I covered my eyes and slid out of my car, back into the mud.
I waved my hands in the air and the driver put their own hazards on, stepping out of their car and walking towards me.
"Are you Y/N?", His voice was hoarse, almost like he'd just woken up.
"Uh yeah are you Calum's friend?" I put my hand up to the light, attempting to get a better look at the man before me. His freshly dyed hair stained his forehead and hands, and his costume was a mere white dress shirt covered in fake blood.
"Yeah, I'm Ashton- nice costume by the way", He points his long finger at me and lets out a laugh, his dimples out on display and I cross my arms in return.
"Haha, very funny" I squint my eyes at him before I uncross my arms and turn away from him, smiling to myself slightly.
"I'm supposed to be matching with Calum", I turn back around to defend myself, only to be met with a cheesy grin from the man in front of me.
He raises a brow at this, "What is he supposed to be a notebook?"
"Wha- No! He's the yellow crayon and Im", I motion my hands towards the costume clung to my figure, "the red crayon"
"Right", he rubs his chin for a moment before shaking his head as a slight giggle escapes his lips.
"Let me take a look, yeah?" Balancing himself slightly, he treads slowly in the mud towards my car. I watch him cautiously, just incase he does happen to slip and I get to watch it all up close. He rolls up his sleeves and brushes past me, crouching down to get a better look at the situation.
His hair is slicked back with gel, or maybe rain even, and his white shirt now see through from the rain. I've known Calum since high school, why has he never mention this Ashton guy?
"I think you're stuck in the mud", He stands up, wiping his hands on his trousers and turning towards me.
"No shit, how do I get out?" My tone came out a little bitchier than I wanted so I smile slightly to make up for it. He just shrugs once again in response and looks down at me.
"I say, you leave the car here until tomorrow when the rain and mud clears up and I'll drive you down to pick it up", I let out a gasp, pointing at the numerous signs marked on the trees.
"Nuh Uh, I am not letting my car get towed", He laughs once again and gives a mere smile at me.
"Fine, i'll leave you here to suffer, you'll miss Calum's party and never hear the end of it? Deal?"
I huff in annoyance, stomping away from him in the mud towards my car. I swung the driver door and leaned in to gather my belongings, tucking Calum's costume under my own. My keys slip into my purse and I also tuck it under my costume.
"If my car gets towed, then you'll never hear the end of it", I make my way towards his car, leaving him there smiling like an idiot as I wait for him to unlock it.
"If it gets towed, i'll pay for it"
